Say Something, Say Something
She remained on the bed, almost nodding off, peaceful, and soothing. She wasn't aware of the faint whisper. As she trailed her finger on the linen of her bed, she slowly became aware of the soft whisper.
"Sagi?"
Sagi paused for a moment. In the past, whenever she was approached at night, there was a sense of unexpected surprises when it came to Her. Right now though… she welcomed her...
"Hai?"
"Are you awake?"
"Hai."
The sophomore smiled. Though she was still confused, she warmed up to these soothing senses.
"May we talk?"
The sophomore paused. At first, she was extremely shy, considering, especially, what happened earlier. But then, she thought of her Shigeru and Tsubaki earlier and decided that she needed a bit of courage to face things with confidence. Slowly, she inhaled as she sat up. She blushed hard but kept her composure. She turned and looked at the senior, who was sitting up on her bed.
The senior watched her in silence as she seemed to have many thoughts ponder throughout her head, trying to figure out what to say, or the right way to say it, but seeing her, the object of her affection was locked in her sight.
"I'm all ears."
Seiya took a slow breath as Sagi slowly breathed and crossed her legs.
"I want to get to know you, Sagi."
The sophomore breathed, softly breathed as she lingered on the older teen.
"Sagi, I want to get to know you. Like, really know you. And I want you to get to know me too."
"... Oh… okay..."
"How do I say this…? There are so many things I want to say… to you... " Seiya took a deep breath, blushing as Sagi watched her, slightly fascinated as she also blushed. Then she saw her, with definitive confidence set in her eyes, speak with assurance.
"You are very important to me, Sagi."
Sagi blushed hard as Seiya blushed harder, but remained determined.
"Really?"
"Hai. Immensely important."
The senior watched as the sophomore blushed, heart-pounding heart, and how vulnerable and open she was to her.
Sagi's thoughts ran a million miles in her mind. No one has ever, EVER, told her that she was important to them. Never in her life has she heard those words spoken out loud with such intent. A small part of her wanted to cry because she's felt alone her whole life, even though she was surrounded by people. But hearing these words right now meant the whole world to her. It lifted her heart, to have a special friend.
This special friend who always looked out for her. There was no one like her...
"Arigatou Gozaimasu K-S-Seiya S-San…I…" Sagi swallowed the lump in her throat and breathed. She prayed to the Goddess for courage. She was so nervous. But she needed to know that they had a significant connection… even though the younger teen didn't understand… She needed to say something... Her belly felt a fire erupt with vulnerable openness as she allowed her Spirit to speak the truth...
"Y-You're important to me too..."
"Really?!" The senior's eyes went wide and deepened with emotions.
"Hai…" The sophomore softly whispered.
Sagi grew nervous as Seiya breathed deep, but composed herself. The black-haired girl wanted to go to her, but as her new friend advised, to tread carefully. She could see that the sophomore, who was a bit nervous, had no experience... whatsoever. She wanted to offer a safe space and decided that she would have her come to her on her own conviction.
"Sagi. I'm so sorry I hurt you today."
The golden blonde looked at her, utterly confused.
"Hurt me? What do you mean?"
"I didn't know… I had no idea that you… If I'd known I wouldn't have... I didn't think-"
"Seiya San… I… Y-You didn't do anything to me. You were nice to me today. You've been nice…this entire time. Honest..."
The senior smiled as she saw her innocence. She was super grateful. But she knew, even if this girl in front of her was not aware of it, how uncomfortable she must have made her, being with another.
"Still… I'm sometimes a bit blind, Sagi. I dated earlier today, and I ended it the moment you left with your two friends… But… I want you to know… just… so you'll know… I'm not planning to do that anymore."
"Do what?"
The senior breathed as she looked down.
"I don't want to date anyone. At least, not other women…"
Sagi frowned a bit, confused.
"Don't get me wrong, I'd still want to date, just not with other females… outside… this room."
The sophomore froze a bit.
She heard that the older teen wanted to date, but outside the room, does she intend… Does she intend to bring someone here to their room?! This made her gasp in disbelief, confusing her friend as the other frowned.
She lost her breath as tears burned in her eyes and grew startled as the senior looked confused at her tears.
Why does Odango look sad just now?
"Oh… s-so… y-you want to bring someone... you'd l-like... to t-this room… s-should I… should I... I'll leave you if you do. I'll give you p-privacy… But you have to let me know if you intend to bring someone here. You need to let me know immediately. I need you to let me know so I leave you-"
"NANI?! ODANGO?! NO! NO-No-Sagi, no-no-Odango, you're not-Oh Goddess-Odango, how could you think-?" Seiya covered her mouth in disbelief.
"I'm super confused…" Sagi whispered, feeling sick. She frowned as her friend chuckled hard, blushing hard. She seemed like she was shocked about something.
"Oh, Goddess… Sagi, you're… Odango, you're really making me work for it, aren't you…?"
"Work for what? Kou-San-"
"NO. NO. SEIYA. Seiya, Sagi. Seiya. Like you were saying this whole time… you were saying my name this whole time, no changes..." The senior spoke strongly as she looked at her.
"Nani?"
"Seiya. Say my name, Seiya. SEIYA. I want you to say my name. You said my name earlier. You're not taking it back. You're not taking it away from me. We're not going back to my surname. Not us. First names only between us."
"Okay… Goddess…Ko-Se-iya-S-an"
"Sagi-"
"You confuse me so much. I was just trying to-"
"Odango, Please. Come here…. Please, come here, Odango."
The sophomore shook as she remained. She pursed her lips and slightly shook her head as the senior subtly nodded.
"We are misunderstanding each other. Please, so we may have clarity. Come here."
Sagi shut her eyes as the senior breathed. Slowly, she opened her eyes and found Seiya looking at her with a smile, unmoving, but extended her hand.
"Please, Odango, please come to me."
Compelled by her tenderness, the golden blond inhaled and slowly exhaled. She shook a bit as she placed her sneakers down on the rug, and slowly stood. It took her moment, but eventually, she slowly walked over, and eventually found herself in front of her former nemesis.
Seiya breathed as Sagi stood in front of her. She kept her hand out as the sophomore looked at her.
"Please, would you let me take your hand?"
With gentleness, she felt the smaller hand and immediately clasped it into hers.
"Sit with me"
Sagi swallowed, calmer, but softly nodded and sat down in front of Seiya, who turned to face her. The senior extended her other hand. The sophomore found both of her hands encased in warmth and tenderness.
"I'm not, nor do I ever, want to bring anyone into my life again, especially into our room. This is our room, and our room only."
Relief crossed her eyes, but the golden blonde said nothing. The black-haired beauty grinned and held her hands together.
"As I wanted to say before, you are very important to me. And you just told me that I'm important to you, which makes me so happy, you have no idea... I want us to get to know each other. Alone. Spend some time together. Just the two of us. Whether it be here in school or stepping out of school, I want us to be just… you and me."
Her cheeks flushed as her eyes were averted. But after what seemed like a forever moment of silence, the sophomore slowly spoke.
"Okay."
"I know we'll still want to hang out with friends, but once a week, or more, I want to have time together, with just you and me. Would you like that?"
The senior watched as the sophomore still kept her eyes averted, super shy.
"Hai."
"We can start tonight if you'd like."
Sagi felt at ease as she looked at her, still blushing hard, but softly nodded. Seiya smiled at her as she gently held her hand and caressed it. She looked at the floor and noticed the bag of food. She didn't eat earlier with her previous date, not even have a taste of each other's food. The moment the object of her affection caught her attention earlier, she lost interest in her date as well as her appetite. But now, she felt ravished. And she felt so happy!
"Are you hungry?"
"A little."
"Would you like to share this take away with me?"
Sagi looked at the food and softly nodded.
"It smells good."
"Share with me. Please. I never ate the food, so it's new to both of us. It will make me happy." Seiya swiftly grabbed her bag, took out a watermelon soda. She popped it open and placed the straw inside. She placed another straw inside.
Sagi loved how it smelled. And she loved that there was watermelon soda. She hoped she would be allowed to sip, and was super happy when it was offered to her.
"I got Buddha feast vegetables."
"It smells good."
Seiya saw the satisfaction in Sagi's eyes as she trailed on the soda and bag of food. It seems like her girl had a healthy appetite.
"You like food, don't you?"
"Good food, hai."
"When we go out, let me know what your favorite places are. I will take you there."
The delicious meal was taken out of the bag and carefully placed on it so it wouldn't spill any juices. Then the top was carefully opened, seeing the steam come out from the tasty heavily sauced seasoned smiled and was about to eat, but then paused.
"Wait, I'm… I won't be allowed to leave, I mean."
Seiya started to eat and frowned a bit. She swallowed and looked at her, thinking of those hellion girls she thought of choking earlier.
"You went out today, though."
"Hai. Surprisingly, Mistress Hotaru allowed it."
The senior watched her in silence as she thought of the unusual permission that was granted to this sophomore. One way or another, she would be taking her out. She didn't know when, how, or what, but she intended to do so.
"How did it all start, Odango?"
"With me going out?"
"Hai. I'd really liked to know how they did it." She started to eat and Sagi followed.
"Honestly, since we had today off, I was just walking around the garden and saw them at the gate. Shigeru San and Tsubaki San were there and waved me over. We said hello. They offered to take me out. I told them I was not allowed except with family-"
"Aha!" Seiya chanted as she smirked. "They saw an in-"
"And the next thing I knew, they asked me to call Mistress Hotaru San and spoke to her. I was told by them to stay quiet and to allow them to do the talking. They were nice, so I just stood by. Mistress Hotaru spoke with them. And before I knew it, I had two cousins…along with Mistress Hotaru's permission."
"Sagi, you are very sweet and vulnerable. I have to keep my eye on you."
"What do you mean?"
"You are innocent. And before you think it's a negative connotation that I'm saying about you, trust me, it is not. It's a compliment, to be pure of heart. You will be hearing more of those from me… But it just means, even though they are nice, others might take advantage of you, so because I'm your senpai, and you are my responsibility… and now my friend… who became very important to me, more than you would know, I'm going to protect you, and keep an eye on you."
"You always…"
"Nani?"
"You always want to protect me, don't you…? Like a Guardian…"
"Hai. I do. I'm not shy to admit that. I do want to protect you. I will always watch over you, Odango. Even if you don't need me to." Seiya whispered as she looked at her and winked.
"It's… nice of you… Arigatou." Sagi whispered and looked at her for the first time, feeling safe and warm. Never had she felt such warmth from anyone more than this person.
"Doushimashite, Sagi. And for you, anytime."
Sagi looked at her as Seiya continued to eat, looking back at her. She softly smiled and slowly took some steamed seasoned vegetables. The sophomore placed it in her mouth and softly moaned, making the senior grin as she munched.
"Oh Goddess, this is good."
"Hai. I would have ordered more."
"Arigatou for sharing. If you guys go again, I will give you money to get me some, if you guys are okay doing me the favor..."
Seiya went quiet as she softly swallowed. Sagi breathed in her silence.
"Or... you and I could go and enjoy a full private dinner… together."
"... How...?"
"You leave that to me, Odango. Somehow, you always have that special touch upon you, having things go your way. And since we are important to each other, I want to make sure nothing gets in the way of us spending time together."
"Arigatou… special touch… I like to think that… If only that were true with classes."
"That's what Taiki Chan is for."
"Katanowe San, I… believe you. She helped a lot"
"She is an excellent tutor."
"She really is."
"I'm glad you both are working well together."
"I'm… glad too."
The sophomore munched as she noticed the senior munching as her eyes kept locked on hers. Those eyes were stunning...
Seiya lingered on her lips. Sagi ate in silence as she briefly looked at her lips, and then she swiftly averted her eyes, blushing hard.
"I'm glad that you and I are close." The black-haired beauty whispered as the golden blonde softly breathed, still shy.
"Me too…"
Seiya watched her eyes, even though they're averted. And then she trailed on her lips. She paused eating for a moment, just taking her in as she watched her in silence.
And one day, we will be closer, if you'll let me. How blind I was. I do want you, Sagi. The moment you let me in, Goddess, you better be ready for me.
Sagi felt her eyes on her. She briefly looked up and shyly looked down again, so many emotions running in her heart.
The way you are looking at me is so intense. You are making my heart rush fast. Never has anyone made me feel this way. But, for some reason, I don't mind, Seiya. Instead, you make me feel like I'm burning, and at the same time... soaring...
Sagi continued to eat as she looked up and slowed her eating down a bit. Seiya breathed as she took her in. She continued to eat and smiled as her friend, who is an important friend, offered her watermelon soda. She took a straw and sipped on it, enjoying the taste. She was surprised as her friend took the other straw and sipped as well, leaning close to her, lingering on her. They drank a good amount, releasing the straws from their lips.
"Oh wow. Arigatou needed that."
"Me too."
"I'm sorry if I drank a lot of your soda."
"Don't be. I have another can in the bag. And I'm happy sharing with you. We'll finish this one, and then when we do, I'll open the other one, along with a creme brulee, and we'll share those too. Sounds good?"
"Hai."
"I'm enjoying myself."
"Me too… Arigatou, S-Sei-ya… San..."
"Douishimashite, it's my pleasure… And I'm enjoying this date with you, Sagi."
Seiya grinned and saw her gasp a bit as her friend's eyes went wide. The senior pretended not to notice, continuing to eat in nonchalance, despite her heart beating fast.
Sagi was red all over as her heart pounded hard. The sophomore averted her eyes and focused on the food, despite the fact that subconsciously, she was super happy.
They were on a date!
…
"Their lights were off?!"
"Hai… and they were both blushing… saying nothing… admitting nothing… doing nothing when I was there but… definitely was doing…don't know what they were doing… or how much of what they were doing… but was… definitely… doing… something." Yaten chanted as she slept with her brunette, who was shocked.
"Nani… Wow… it's mutual then."
"It seems. Though I will agree with you, that Sagi Chan may be unaware or oblivious, but seeing her today with those hellions, there was definitely something there that crossed her eyes."
"You might be right. I can't believe it-"
"I know. She never gave signs before. This is something new we are seeing from her. Maybe she doesn't..., she's probably not aware of what she is feeling, but I know she has feelings for Seiya, whether she knows it or not."
"Now that you brought it up, I agree. And of course, we saw how Seiya reacted. The way those two took off with her, it crushed her. Seiya did not say a word when she left us… I literally thought she would be fine with her date then… ex-date since she was left alone… but apparently… not..."
"Her ex-date notified us after they spoke… But, as far as her Majesty... Seiya wants her. There is no doubt, she wants to have her. I think Seiya wanted to charge at her when she got home but is holding herself back out of respect it seems, especially since this is the first girl she is pursuing who has never dated before."
"It got on my nerves, those hellions kept chanting Sagi and they were on a date."
"You think?"
"I'm definitely watching over her, especially with those two psychos."
"Delinquents."
Taiki hissed as Yaten laughed before she was kissed.
"Yeah, I intend to watch over her too… and give her my apology. Michiru and I intend to ambush her while we take her shopping if we get to."
"If she is allowed-psychos those hellions were-I can't she's friends with them, I can't believe they got permission."
"I know, I have to wonder how it all started. I will ask Sagi… She might have let them in, unknowingly. Oh, Goddess… she will let anyone in."
"Sagi Chan and I will have a nice long chat about rules. And if she intends to go out again, I intend to let Seiya know so she would go with her, or one of us will go with her."
"Hai! Let's do that."
"Good. We have a plan. In the meantime, where were we?"
"About to ambush Seiya?"
"Later. Right now, I want to…"
Taiki kissed Yaten's lips and held her close. She embraced her hard as their legs entwined.
...
Haruka walked around as Michiru laid on the bed, watching her girlfriend with amusement.
"I'm going to keep an eye on Koneko. I don't care if she has permission with those-ugh! I refuse to let her go out with those girls again!"
"Hai. If we ever see them, we will kidnap her."
"And I will carry her off. And clobber those two if they try to take her away. The nerve of those shits!"
"Yeah, they were shits."
"Hai… I intend to lay down the law hard. Any move she makes out of the school with them, I will tie her up and reel her back in."
"Will she let you, is the question?"
"Oh she doesn't have to let me, it will happen, my Michi. I'm faster and stronger. We all are. And Seiya will-oh Goddess, Seiya won't allow her out of her sight. She will chain her to her own body."
Michiru giggled as she sighed.
"Oh Ruka, you care about her."
Haruka looked at her as she tied her hair up. At first, she didn't realize what it was, but yeah, that young teen got under her skin.
"Hai. I do. She is our little Koneko. Even if she acts cold. Even if she climbs up the tree and bites my hand when I try to bring her down, I will grab her, take her down, and hold her, and have a nice long talk with her."
"I care about her too… but Princessu will surely bite you, my Ruka."
"Oh, but I will hold her, my Michi. And Seiya will definitely bite her back..."
"OH HAI! You are so right…"
They both giggled and then went silent and spoke in a whisper.
"Seiya likes her. And, I'm not sure about her, because I don't know what way she swings, but I have a feeling that the little Princess might have some feelings for her in return."
"I felt something today between them. I didn't think she was… like… I'm shocked a bit... We all were so blind with Seiya being on her first date since Diamond… until those fucking hellions caused chaos by mocking Seiya, knowing how she feels about her, thinking it wasn't reciprocated… and I saw the look in Koneko's eyes when she looked at Seiya's date earlier."
"Hai… I'm shocked too. I didn't expect that."
"Koneko… I think I will talk to her about that too… you know, just so she has someone to talk to, and doesn't think she is alone, and just knows that whatever she feels is good. And that it's okay to like girls../ Fuck her family..."
"Hai... That is if she opens up to us… about Seiya..."
"Hai… she is tight-lipped… Seiya will loosen those lips… those pretty lips."
"You think she is pretty." Michiru teased. She knew her lover liked girls a lot and was a bit of a flirt.
"She is… I'll admit it. But she is too shy and she needs to… unwind a little bit. But I'm still not letting her out of my sight. She's not leaving this school whatsoever unless one of us-"
"Yeah, one of us will go with her."
"Hai! That's it! She will have to be chaperoned by one of us along with her "cousins".
"Cousins… memories…"
"Oh… hai…"
Haruka blushed as Michiru looked at her, blushing as well.
"Do you remember when we first dated, and you took me out, and people thought you and I were cousins?"
The sandy blonde grinned as she leered on her aqua haired lover, who leered back at her.
"Oh, Hai."
"And you and I decided to play along, both said that we were, and when we looked at each other, and they watched us immediately kiss so… mm... nice, deep, hard, wet, and long, right on the lips."
"And we made out for a good hour. Mm… Naughty, Michi. Your tongue is so delicious."
"As yours is too, my naughty Ruka. They were so shocked after we finished."
Both of them laughed hard as Haruka moved over her body and kissed her lips.
"I want to relive that kiss right now… amongst other things..."
"Hai, lover. Me too."
They kissed and embraced hard, breathing as they took their clothes off and made love.
…
The two remained sitting on the bed, side by side this time as they recently finished a delicious roasted caramelized Creme Brulee topped with raspberries, and gobbled it down with the last can of Watermelon soda. They were pleasantly filled.
Sagi let out a soft burp and covered her mouth in embarrassment as Seiya went wide-eyed and laughed, finding her so cute!
"Stop laughing at me..."
The sophomore spoke and frowned as the senior laughed harder and accidentally burped, causing the blonde to gasp and then pursed her lips before she softly giggled and covered her eyes and mouth, finding mirth in the whole situation.
If the Yurenkasykuyas knew she burped in front of others, they would have coldness in their eyes and scolded her about not keeping it discreet or inside. Not even her Oneesan would be seen doing so, nor her fiance.
But with her dear friend, she felt no judgment... and completely free.
As for the Kous, they would have sighed in embarrassment about bad table manners, and then laugh it off. But Seiya didn't care at this moment. She was so freaking happy!
The sophomore moved to clear things and immediately was held by the senior.
"Iie. You're my date. I'll clean up."
"Nani? I don't mind, K-S-"
"Nani?"
"S-Seiya San-"
"That's better."
Sagi blushed hard as she pursed her lips. Seiya narrowed her eyes at her before she looked at her lips.
"If I ever hear you call me Kou San again..."
"I didn't say... K-S-Seiya San."
"Mm-hmm."
"Nani... I didn't..."
"Mm-hmm..."
"W-what would you do if I did though...?"
"Nani?"
"Y-You said the next time I called you K... S..."
"Oh, hai."
"Nani..."
"You're right, something will happen if you do..."
The sophomore was wide-eyed as the senior smirked and cleaned up, beating her to the punch. She pouted as she was willing to help, seeing the senior step out of the room to toss the empty items out. She paused and noticed that was the second time she heard the word 'date'. It made her blush hard.
Was she on a date? The other said the word twice. Her heart pounded hard. Maybe she imagined it...
The senior stepped back into their room, shutting the door and locking it. She walked over and climbed up to sit next to the sophomore.
"So... I want to hear about your other dates today..."
"Nani?"
"Your dates..."
Sagi breathed, confused as the senior watched her.
"You mean, Shigeru San and Tsubaki San?"
"Hai."
"Uh..."
Was she on dates with them? It didn't feel like it, more like older sisters taking her out.
"Were you not on a date?"
"What do you mean, Seiya San...?"
"What do you think I mean...?"
"It's just an... odd question... I don't know how to answer."
"Okay... did you guys kiss?"
"Nani?"
"Kiss... did they kiss you?"
"Oh, when they said goodbye, hai-"
Seiya frowned as Sagi paused at her expression. The girls hugged and kissed her on the cheeks.
"Are you in a relationship?"
"Are they my cousins? Iie-"
"You said they kissed you-"
"Goodbye on the cheeks, hai-"
"Oh- good... That's good then."
The senior breathed in relief as the sophomore frowned at her.
"I don't get you, Kou San."
"Douishte...?"
"Your mood changes so quickly."
".. What do you mean?"
"Well... one minute you are extremely nice, but-"
"Hai...?"
"Earlier just now... You looked at me like you were upset at me..."
"I'm not upset at you."
"Then why did you look upset earlier just now... It was the same expression I saw on you at the mall..."
"I wasn't... I mean, I was but... It was not at you... Damn, you're good."
"Nani..."
"Observing people... I keep forgetting that you excel in that, but now that I know how good you are, I will remember now."
"Oh..."
"Sagi, it was not you that I was upset at."
"Okay... But you were upset-"
"Hai."
The blonde breathed as the black-haired beauty lingered on her.
"May I ask what you were upset about... Did something happen?"
"Something happened alright-"
"Nani...?"
"Hai."
"Something happened?"
"Hai."
"Is there anything I can do to help..."
Seiya watched her in silence as Sagi blushed a bit.
"Hai..."
"Nani, I'll do anything-"
"... Anything...?"
"Hai."
"That satisfies me..."
"What do you need...?"
"Tell me about your day today, I don't want to miss a thing."
"Okay..."
What a strange request, but she will appease her.
"Shigeru San and Tsubaki San took me to the movies. They were kind enough to treat me."
"They treated you?"
"Hai. They bought tickets to all the shows ahead of time-"
"Really...?"
"Hai."
"Despite sold out tickets. And they bought all of them?"
"Hai, we didn't even have to stand in line as they had tickets-"
"Didn't have to stand in the long lines? This is too good..."
Seiya crossed her arms as she looked at her with amusement.
"Nani?"
"Gomen Nasai, Sagi... Continue please..."
"Hai. Well, they said we didn't have to wait in line since they bought all the tickets to every movie ahead of time, and asked me which one I wanted to see. A lot of the people in front of us still needed tickets. So they took me to the side door-where the dumpsters are-"
"Too good, continue."
"And we went inside."
"What movie did you want to see?"
"The Miyazaki new film... Jubilee..."
"OH! How was that one?"
"Fantastic! So good! I cried a lot!"
"Wow... I wouldn't mind seeing that."
"I'll see it with you! I'll buy the tickets."
"Iie. I will buy it."
"They wouldn't let me reimburse them either, I don't get it."
"Did they watch it with you?"
"Iie. They watched the other movies. They went back and forth to buy me snacks but then left as I watched the remainder of the film. I didn't mind. I had a blast."
"I'm glad."
"After that, we ran into... you guys-"
"Oh..."
"Oh, Gomen Nasai, I'm rambling and being rude. How was your date? Did you guys have a good time."
Seiya grew uncomfortable as Sagi watched her.
"Why are you asking me that."
"Because I want to be nice, you asked me how my day was, I didn't want to be rude and ramble only about myself-"
"I rather hear about you. Besides... You never finished telling me where you guys went to."
"Okay. Hai, well, we went to the fair. They bought tickets ahead of time, a lot of people also were getting tickets-"
"And you guys went into a hidden special entrance."
"Hai. How did you know?"
"Oh, my Goddess... Should have known... Continue, please."
"We stepped inside, rode a lot of rides. They got food for me after we rode a lot. It was so much fun. Scary, but a lot of fun."
"So it was only the fair that you guys went to... And they were still selling tickets..."
"Hai."
"Your friends told us a fib, saying it was sold out."
"Oh... Oh hai! I wonder if they said that mistakenly..."
"Mm-hmm... Continue... What else did you do?"
"We went to a spiritual store... Got bracelets, that one on my table, they bought one for me, said I was like their little sister and that we will be friends for life-"
"They see you as a little sister?"
"Hai. That's what they told me. And then they dropped me off, kissed me on the cheeks at the same time, and hugged me goodbye."
Sagi was confused, seeing Seiya beaming.
"You had an awesome day."
"Hai... Why won't you tell me about your day?"
"... It's boring compared to yours... We walked around the mall... Saw the thriller... And saw you."
"And did you guys do anything else?"
"We all grabbed food. I bought food to take to go. I wasn't hungry then."
The senior watched the sophomore look at her with emotions that were tricky to decipher.
"Nani...?"
"You are so secretive."
"About my day?"
"About your date."
"What about her?"
"She seemed really nice."
"She is really nice."
Sagi pursed her lips as Seiya lingered on her.
"Nani, what is it?"
"Um..."
"Say something... Say something... I can take it."
"It's just... usually when Elsie or Miyu talk about dates... They get so excited. They can't stop talking about that person. But when you date... You go reclusive-like-dissonant."
"...Only because I don't care about the date like I thought I would... Yes, I was on a date today. We kissed a few times, she was really nice, good-hearted, and I liked that she spoke amazing things about you, how you have such amazing light, and how you are an amazing girl... All the things I already knew as well as things I was blind to... but... it didn't work out between us."
"How come?"
"You really want to know why it didn't work out between us?"
"Hai. Unless it's private-"
"Because of You."
"Nani?"
"Because of You. It's always because of you, Sagi."
"What do you mean because of me, Seiya S-"
She paused as the senior took her hand, linking her fingers through, and held her with tenderness.
"You didn't do anything. You didn't have to. But I knew in my gut, the moment I saw you, it just felt wrong being with her or any other... It was just wrong."
"Douishte...?"
"Because I would have switched places with your friends in a heartbeat, to spend the day with you. I wanted to spend my day with you. And I even asked you if you wanted to hang out- why did you leave?"
"Nani?"
"You could have hung out with us. I could've gone to the fair with you since they sold tickets. Why did you leave me? You left that night at Mermaids too. I wanted to spend time with you. And you left. Why did you leave? Why do you always leave?"
Sagi felt a lump in her throat as Seiya watched her, trailing between her lips, and locking her eyes on her as she held her hand tighter.
"Say it. I want to know."
"You were on a date."
"I see. Well, I ended my date when you left."
"But why is it my fault, I don't understand-?"
"It's not your fault. I just get jealous."
"Jealous?"
"Hai. I'm jealous, so jealous."
"What do you mean?"
Seiya remained still as Sagi breathed in confusion.
"Nani, what is it-?"
"You're really going to make me work for it, Sagi, aren't you?"
"Work?
"Challenge accepted."
"What challenge... What work...?"
Seiya smiled mischievously as she caressed her hand. Now that she knew her, and how she was, she was going to court her in a special unique way, just like she is. Sagi blushed hard and shuddered.
"Hm... Are you enjoying this date together?"
"Hai... Wait... Nani?"
"I'm so glad... You mysterious girl ... So mysterious..."
Sagi was like a deer as Seiya smiled and caressed her hand.
"Is this okay?"
"Nani?"
"This."
"Oh, Hai."
"Good. I'm very glad. Arigatou Gozaimasu."
"For what?"
"For spending time with me today, and eating with me, and for sitting with me, and letting me hold your hand... It makes me so happy."
"Doushimashite Gozaimasu... Arigatou Gozaimasu... Thank you for inviting me to spend time and eat with you."
"I'm so glad... Gomen Nasai for hurting you today... And Mermaids."
"How? Seiya San, you're very nice. You did nothing wrong. Honest."
"I know. Gomen Nasai anyways."
"... Daijabou, Seiya San. I'm not sure why you are apologizing, but Daijabou."
Seiya smiled, beaming as it made Sagi smile with warmth.
"You are so important to me."
"... You're important to me too..."
Seiya breathes, blushing hard and softly soothes her hand. Sagi was beat-red, averting her eyes as they sat side by side in silence. She didn't know what was going on, like the embrace earlier, but it felt so awesome. The sophomore remained silent as the senior watched her. She was going to take it slow with her, but in seriousness, she mattered to her, more than anyone she ever dated.
She mattered.
…
"Sagi?"
"Hai?"
"What happened... Between you and Beryl San earlier this week...?"
Sagi breathed and sighed. She forgot about her.
"I screamed at her."
"Hai..."
"Because she screamed at me, threatening to take me to Lady San."
"Douishte?"
"I accidentally left my bookbag in the garden. I didn't realize it until I approached our room. Then I turned around and went back downstairs. It was approaching curfew. I asked Mistress Hotaru San for permission to grab it, which she gave me, got my bookbag in time, and Beryl started screaming at me that I was late and that I had to go to Lady San. Of course, I lost it."
"That explains why you both were screaming... makes sense... She got under your skin that night, didn't she."
"Hai... I usually am not like that-"
"I know-"
"But I just... I wasn't in the mood..."
Sagi cut herself off and felt her hand in a full caress, making her breathe.
Seiya was silent. She wasn't sure about everything, but when she spoke with Taiki, she said that Sagi was in a good mood. Then it soured somehow that night.
"What got you in a bad mood?"
The senior watched the sophomore remain silent.
"I don't know... I just was..."
Jealous.
She didn't say it out loud. But inwardly, she gasped. Sagi had a beautiful night staring up at the stars, even when Beryl snapped at her to hurry up, it didn't faze her. But the moment she walked upstairs, heard them talking, and hearing about... the date... Oh shit...
She was jealous.
The conversation she had with her new friends at the fair, the conversation with Elsie after Mermaids, the feelings that erupted when she broke out in a fight with Sarah that night and seeing the date in her arms at the club, and seeing the date at the mall, and the tears she had at the fair all clicked in her mind.
Did she... was she... Sagi was confused about herself, for the first time in her life, she didn't know why she was feeling these feelings that were new to her, especially when it came to this older girl next to her, who was holding her hand now. But she recognized one emotion. She was angry because she was jealous... That was evident and clear. She was jealous.
Oh, Goddess...
But... why was she jealous... What were the other emotions?
"Sagi...?"
"Hai? Gomen Nasai."
"What got you upset?"
"I'm... still trying to figure it out."
"Got it."
"Seiya San?"
"Hai?"
"What would you do if I accidentally called you... K... S-San?"
"I will bite you."
"Nani?!"
Seiya narrowed her eyes as Sagi gasped.
"If I ever hear you call me Kou San again, Sagi... I will bite you. I don't care what the reason is, I will just bite you when you least expect it... So it's best that you call me Seiya, okay?"
"B-Bite?"
"Hai."
"Will you bite the others if they call you Kou-"
"Iie. Just you."
"D-Douishte?"
"Because you are You."
"That doesn't make sense."
"We are a mysterious pair."
Sagi stared at Seiya, who grinned at her with warmth.
"You are a little crazy... S-Seiya San."
"Hai, When it comes to you, Sagi, hai. I'm very crazy when it comes to you. I know. I am. Crazy. I won't deny it."
"B-Bite-"
"If you call me Kou, hai... I will bite... My bites will be gentle though. Either way, I will be gentle with you."
The senior grinned as she blushed, making the sophomore blush harder and lose some air in her lungs. She caressed her hand and looked at the window.
"The moon is out."
"Nani? Oh hai... So are the stars. It's already dark out..."
"Hai."
"I didn't realize so much time passed.
"That's what happens when you are having a great time with someone."
"Hai."
"Are you having fun with me now, Sagi?"
"Hai..."
Sagi whispered shyly as Seiya took her hand and kissed it softly, making her shudder with the touch of her lips on her skin. She lingered there with tenderness. Softly, she released her as they leaned on the wall next to the bed, side by side as they remained together in their hands.
"I love being on this date with you, Sagi. It's the best one I've ever been to."
"We're on a date?"
"Hai. When two people who are important to each other spend time together... It's a date. So hai, we're on a date."
"Oh... Okay..."
Her heart pounded hard as her fingers and hand were softly caressed by her hand. She didn't dare look at her but felt her eyes as she watched the moon rising through the window, seeing stars appearing around her with open arms. They always greeted her at night.
Seiya watched Sagi in silence before she followed her gaze to the window, seeing the stars greeting the moon, and relaxed, holding her hand. They still had a couple of hours before curfew. So every moment counted for them.
Her hand softly expanded as the thumb caressed in her palm, making her softly breathe.
...
Shigeru and Tsubaki are chatting outside as they finish their day, ready to go to their respective homes. It was so much fun today! Crazy day! But fun day!
They paused as they noticed a tall ethereal blonde woman approach them, leaving a man by the car.
"Sumimasen... Can I speak with you two ladies?" The woman spoke with richness in her voice.
"Hai... Who are you?"
"I rather know who you two are."
"Well lady, you came to us." Shigeru chanted and placed her hands on her hips.
"Hai. It's rude to ask us who we are when we don't know who you are? Where are your manners?"
"Hai, who are you?"
"Well... I'm just trying to comprehend... what you were doing with my Imoutou San earlier today at the fair when she should be in school?"
Both Shigeru and Tsubaki felt like they were going to shit in their pants now.
"... Nani… what did you say just now...?"
"Sumimasen… Imouto San...?"
"Yurenkasykuya, Sagi San... I saw you three earlier at the fair, but you three ran out before I ever got around to speak with her. My family was with me, and I was gracious enough not to say anything to them as it would have been worse for her. I asked my fiance the favor to wait for me now as I managed to catch you so I may have a clear explanation and approach the issue from there... who are you two? Are you friends with her? What was she doing out of school?"
"Gomen Nasai, are you her Oneesan?"
The golden blonde crossed her arms and sternly looked at them.
"Yurenkasykuya, Galexia. At your service. This is your last chance to explain yourselves before I involve my family. Now, why was my younger sister doing out of school with you two? I won't ask again."
The hellions swallowed the lumps in their throat as for the first time in both their lives, they were left utterly speechless.
Oh Shit.
