Things are going better than I thought. I was told by Glynda Goodwitch, Ozpin's right-hand woman, that after naming the new teams for the year, I will have to go to his office to have a personal talk.
He probably already realized that something is wrong with my appearance in the forest, so at least that will be easier to explain. The problem is if he will believe that I'm not from this world. I mean, this world is already plenty bizarre, so maybe my being a transmigrator isn't that much of a stretch, at least I hope so.
I also got my ID card with me to prove that I'm not from this world, the problem with that is that the person in the photo of my ID is not the current me, because if you forgot, I'm now a woman.
I don't know if this was some sort of prank from the being that sent me to this world, but explaining that will be weird. Now mind you, being a woman itself isn't really a problem for me, I never put too much thought into what is in between my legs, it's just that explaining that inside this head of mine is actually a man is weird.
"Jaune Arc, Lie Ren, Pyrrha Nikos, Nora Valkyrie. The four of you retrieved the white rook pieces. From this day forward, you will work together as Team Juniper (JNPR), led by Jaune Arc!"
"Huh? L-Lead by?" Jaune asked, baffled.
"Congratulations, young man." Ozpin congratulated Jaune.
Pyrrha punched Jaune in the shoulder in celebration, pushing Jaune to the ground.
"That must've hurt" I mused.
"Miss… umm" Glynda approached and called to me. Now that I think about it, I never told them my name.
"Avery" I said
"Miss. Avery, please follow me to the Headmaster's office" She said, then led me to Ozpin's office.
Glynda still looked not that trustful of me, not that I was surprised, to be honest. I'm a total stranger and I came out of nowhere, it would be weird if she trusted me just like that. Not to mention my weird look.
'I still have no idea what's up with this thing' I looked up at my halo. It didn't look like it was connected to anything in my body. No bones, no freaky arteries, nothing. It's just floating in the air directly above him, and I know it's part of my body. I didn't know how, but I just knew.
The same could be said about my…. Wings? I honestly have no idea what they are, they look like black shards made of some material I don't recognize, but I also know they are part of my new body. They do look cool so that's good.
I wonder what I'm gonna do from now on… I don't see any way to go back to my world and I don't really care about going back. But then, what do I do now? Will Ozpin help him in some way? That would be nice seeing that I don't have anything to fall back on, to be blunt: I'm broke.
"We're here, the headmaster will be seeing you shortly" Glynda said. I nodded and entered the office.
The office was pretty nice, there was a curved table with the only chair in the office behind it. Behind the chair flipped clock, makes sense since it is supposed to be seen from the exterior. Looking around he also noticed the various cogs in the room, to his right, there were cogs that he didn't know the purpose of. above him, more cogs. Were they functional in some way? I decided not to think about it too much.
"Sorry for the delay, Miss. Avery. I was finishing the ceremony for the teams. I hope I didn't make you wait for long" Ozpin said while entering the office and sitting on his chair.
"No worries, I got here recently." Hopefully, this goes well, I really do not want to end up in the streets or an insane asylum.
"So, let us get to the point, would you care to explain how you found yourself in the emerald forest? It isn't really a place a young girl should be in, especially with the amount of Grimm present"
"Uhh straight to that I see" I didn't expect him to ask that right away, but it makes sense. "Before I tell you, can you promise to not instantly throw me in a nuthouse? The explanation may be a bit… ummm… unbelievable? I do have ways to prove it but I just want to make sure."
"No worries, Just explain your case, maybe I can help somehow. It's just that the fact that you appeared out of thin air is concerning."
"True, to be honest, I'm still a bit confused, I had no idea where I am, and I still don't know." Only the first part was true, I already decided that I shouldn't tell him about the show, that would just be attracting way too much attention, the bad type of attention. So ill hold on to that info until…. Hopefully, forever, I really do not want to deal with that wicked witch Salem.
"Ok, so… here goes nothing" I explained my situation, going over how I was wandering about in my neighborhood at night to clear my mind and how suddenly I encountered myself in this void, devoid of anything but my mind for about two days. Then I explained how I appeared in the forest with weird monsters and teenagers with weapons and superpowers, and after that, he knows everything else.
"After all of that, I'm pretty sure I'm not in my world, since I'm pretty sure my world doesn't have those creatures and overpowered teenagers. Trust me, I know my world well."
"Could you show me your proof?" Ozpin asked
"Yeah," I passed him my wallet with all my cards. "There should be my ID that should have my country of origin, Chile. There's just one problem with that."
"And what is the problem, Miss. Avery?"
"It's that I'm pretty sure I'm supposed to be a man, not a woman. And I certainly do not have a halo and weird-looking wings." I said. "My guess is whatever entity sent me here wanted to pull a prank on me and made me a woman, I don't mind though"
"That is weird," Ozpin said, looking at my ID. "Whitlock Torres, Avery Vicente"
"I also have a phone, an electronic device from my world used for communication and other things"
"Like a scroll?" Ozpin asked.
"What's that?" I lied
"Hmmm. could you let me see it?"
"Sure" I passed my phone to the Headmaster.
He started to look through it, he looked a bit confused, but I let him figure it out for now.
"I certainly have never seen a device like this one," He said while still looking at my phone. So Remnant never had phones like these? Maybe they went through the era of phones with keyboards, then directly into the scrolls.
"You don't look like you are lying, so I have a proposal for you." He said
"And that is?"
"How about you join my academy as a student?"
What?
"...what?..."
"Just as I said, you can join my academy as a huntsman in training, you would be here for three years, and at the end of your three years, you will get your license. I will also put you in one of the teams that are already formed since all students have their own teams. the only difference with yours would be that it will be a team of 5 instead of the more traditional team of four"
"Wait wait wait wait wait I still need more explanations, we are going too fast"
"Sorry for that miss… mr?"
"Hmmm… ill go with Miss from now on, it would be confusing later on having to explain that I'm a man, so from now on, I'm a woman"
"So, miss. Avery, What questions do you have?"
My first question was what is a Grimm, I already have a rough idea of what they are, but this is mostly to get the point across that I'm clueless about this world, even if it's a lie. Then I asked about Huntsmen, they are people trained to guard humanity's future, that is, fighting the creatures of Grimm. I also asked about this world's currency, which is named Lien. Then I proceeded to ask if there's any other thing I should know about this world to better blend, so he told me about the Great Wat, The kingdoms, The academies, and the continents of Sanus (The one we are in right now), Anima, and others like Vytal and Menagerie. After I asked about those people with ears, he told me about Faunus, people with animal traits, and the other intelligent race that inhabits Remnant. He seemed confused about the fact that I didn't know about Faunus before I told him that in my world, there aren't any.
"Do you have any other questions?" Ozpin asked.
"Yeah, do you have any idea about these?" I said, pointing at my halo and then my wings
"Hmmm, I have never seen any being with your same traits… do you feel them?"
"Yes, but I don't see anything that connects them to my body, feels weird."
"Then my guess is as good as yours"
"Hmm… well they don't seem to have any bad effects on me so it shouldn't be a problem having them. Explaining what they are will be the problem, but whatever. Now that that's out of the way, what was the thing that you were about to tell me before all that exposition?"
"I would like you to join my Huntsman Academy, I think it would be good for you to have a way to defend yourself in this world and also make some friends in the process. Your age shouldn't be a problem since you look young enough to pass. and even then, your actual age isn't that far from the normal age a huntsman enters an academy."
"Are you sure? I have zero combat experience and I also haven't unlocked my aura thing that everyone here seems to have already."
"That shouldn't be a problem, come here," Ozpin said before standing up and walking in front of the desk.
"Ok?" What is he going to do?
He asked me to hold his hand and I obliged, then he closed his eyes.
"For it is in passing that we achieve immortality. Through this, we become a paragon of virtue and glory to rise above all, infinite in distance and unbound by death. I release your soul and by my shoulder protect thee."
'Huh?' I felt like I gained new strength. Something started to envelop my body and protect it. A bronze color enveloped every inch of my body. Is this what aura feels like?
"I feel stronger for some reason"
"I unlocked your aura, now you should be able to use it to strengthen and shield your body. You certainly have a lot of it, the biggest aura pool I have seen in a Human or Faunus, you shouldn't have to worry about running out of it too soon in battle" Ozpin said with a smile.
"Really? That's nice. How do I go about unlocking my semblance?"
"That depends on you, your semblance may be unlocked in a stressful situation, or out of nowhere."
"Bummer, guess ill have to wait, still, thank you for that, I don't know how I would have done it without your help."
"No worries. Now back to your enrollment, I will bring some documents for you to fill out and get you your new ID, ill also take care of your papers for making you a student. Please wait here for a moment"
"Ok," I said as I watched Ozpin leave the office.
"Here, Miss. Avery" Ozpin said, presenting me with the documents to fill out. They asked me about my name, It seems that people here only have one name and last name, so from now on, ill go by Avery Whitlock. Then age, Ozpin said to put 17 in there, so I did. About the Place of birth, I decided to ask Ozpin about that, and he recommended that I put Vale. Then it was mindless questions about other things about me, I would have to come up with a backstory I anyone asks me.
After that whole trivia, I passed the papers to Ozpin.
"That's done," Ozpin said.
"I thought it was never going to end, I don't have to fill out other documents for Beacon right?"
"No worries Miss. Avery, I shall take care of that. For now, I'll put you on a team. You will follow Glynda to the dorms and from now on, you will stay with team RWBY, I hope you make fast friends."
Thrown directly into trouble, lovely. I really do not want to deal with those kids, they get into too much trouble. I would've preferred JNPR, but it's not like I can ask him to send me to another team, that would be suspicious, and I also do not want to deal with team CRDL, they are assholes, a full male team of assholes, and I am now a woman, no way in hell I'm dealing with that. So be it.
"Ok, thanks for the help, Headmaster. I really don't know what I could have done without your help, probably live in the streets."
"No worries Miss Avery, to be honest, I'm also curious what type of semblance will an other-worlder get, so you can take it as me being selfish."
"Hehe, then ill just take your kindness. Anything else before I go?"
"Just take this letter and give it to your team after entering," Ozpin said, handing me a letter.
"You can go to your dorm, My colleague will guide you. Have a nice stay at our academy, and world"
"Thanks for everything," I said, then left the Office.
Glynda was waiting, she still looked at me with little trust. "Did you hear everything?" I asked.
"Yes. I still do not agree with enrolling you in the academy. What is Ozpin thinking?"
"I'm not sure" I shrugged.
After that, we walked in silence. After a couple of minutes, we got to the dorms and Glynda guided me to team RWBY's dorm. After a brief goodbye, I prepared myself, then knocked on the door.
"Coming!" I heard someone yelling through the door. 'That sounds like Ruby'
"Yesssss." As I thought, Ruby opened the door and started slowly looking at the top of my head.
"Umm sorry to interrupt, but the Headmaster Ozpin sent me here. He said that ill be joining your team from now on, he also said to give you this letter"
"Really! No way! Guys, we have a new teammate!" Ruby cheered, turning to the others inside the room.
The room was plain, with only four beds, a window, and some furniture. That will not last for long though. I also saw Yang, Blake, and Weiss doing their own things.
"Ohh you are the girl with the Halo and Wings!" Yang said with a big smile. " Hello, new teammate!"
"Wings?" Blake said from her bed. "Those don't look like wings"
"Yeah, but I still call them wings since they are where wings normally would be and I can feel them, though I can barely move them"
"That's so cool! Can I touch your Halo?" Ruby asked with stars in her eyes.
"Yesss…actually no" I remembered what happened when I let Yang touch my halo earlier.
I heard Yang and Blake chuckle and I shot them a glare.
"Awww bummer… Still, welcome to the team, now we have 5 team members!" Ruby said.
I noticed that Weiss was looking at me suspiciously. "Something wrong, Weiss?" I said.
"How do you know my name?" Weiss said, with a hint of distrust.
"The headmaster told me all of your names." He didn't. I should be more careful.
"I think I haven't introduced myself. My name is Avery Whitlock. My situation is a bit special so I hope you can bear with me"
"I just hope you don't become deadweight, this team has already enough problems," Weiss said, eyes looking at Ruby.
'Ah right, the whole leader thing. It should solve itself with time' I thought. Then I realized something, I have nowhere to sleep.
"Where should I sleep by the way?" I asked.
"The floor should be enough," said you know who and I ignored.
"Hey-" Weiss was probably going to whine about me ignoring her, but Yang got ahead of her.
"You could use mine for now! I'll sleep with Ruby since we are sisters"
"Yang?!" Ruby yelled in surprise when her sister jumped from one bed to the other.
"Sorry for the inconvenience," I said apologetically.
I proceeded to sit on the bed, it was already a bit late at this point with my whole conversation with Ozpin. Now the big question is: What now?
I mean, I am already here so I might as well meddle with the canon a bit, not that I can do much in my current state, I'm powerless beyond relief, there's just no way I can beat someone like Cinder any time soon and its not like I have enough time to catch up to her level or any of the other important villains in this part of the story.
I don't have a weapon or a semblance either, though Ozpin did say that I have a lot of aura. so maybe my semblance will need a lot of it? Either way, lots of aura means more time that I can keep my aura shield up so at least I won't instantly die. Good.
What will my semblance be, I wonder? I remember hearing something about semblances being the manifestation of an individual's innate power or something.. Hmm… I can't seem to think of anything that would at least give me an idea of my semblance… Well, it will manifest in time.
Now, about my weapon….. I think it's better if I just leave that for later, it's not like I have the money to buy one. Should I ask Ozpin? I mean, it's not like I will ask for an incredibly complicated mecha-shift weapon, anything that will keep me safe and feels good in my hands will be more than appreciated.
I decided to go to the bathroom, now that I thought about it, I haven't really gone to the bathroom all day, I'm probably holding up only because I haven't eaten anything.
I entered the bathroom, and the first thing I could see was a sink with a mirror in front of it and some of Team RWBY's toothbrushes.
I looked at the mirror and the most outstanding thing that it reflected was my black hair, I proceeded to look at every aspect of my new face, the rest of the body could be inspected later, I still felt like a pervert while doing it. After a moment of appreciating how beautiful I am, my eyes went over to my halo. It was floating exactly above my head, it looked like it was anchored to a very specific place above my head, so even the tiniest movement would be followed by the halo also moving at the same time, staying exactly at the same place above my head. The same with my wings, they stayed exactly in the same place at all times. Now that I think about it, how do I sleep with these things on my back?
I came out of the bathroom, everyone was already on their beds, not quite asleep yet. I walked to my bed and tried to lay on my back. I could actually do it, it felt like my wings disappeared. When I stood up to investigate, my wings were back. 'So when they are in the way they just disappear? Interesting.'
I also noticed that my halo just hovered over my face when I lay down. With my questions finally answered, I decided to finally sleep, too many things happened on this first day and I'm tired.
I didn't want to deal with any more crazy shit happening, so I will leave my problems to future me.
Closing my eyes, sleep finally came.
Truly fascinating.
Ozping while just a little bit surprised with the prospect of a world hopper, something he had never heard about in all of his years, decided to not think about it too much.
He lives in a world of magic, superpowers, and murderous monsters, and he has seen the world being wiped clean and new life taking over it. A person who came from another world shouldn't be too out of the realm of possibility.
What surprised him more was the sheer amount of aura that this person held, it was absolutely massive. The only reason he could think a person needs that much aura is if their semblance required it.
What kind of semblance will this girl get? How will this affect the course of the multiple thousand-year-old war with Salem? Maybe now he has a chance at winning.
Still, he won't get too carried away, maybe this is just an effect of his world-hopping.
For now, though, he will give her some much-needed support for her career as a huntsman, starting off with her team.
'Things are getting interesting' Ozpin thought, taking a sip from his mug.
I actually finished the second chapter wow.
I actually already had most of the chapter ready a couple of days after I published the first one, but I was distracted with college, so this took longer than I thought.
I don't know when I will have the third chapter done, but hopefully soon since I'm getting some free time finally.
Now onto some things about the MC:
NAME:
-Why does she have two names and two last names?: This is because she is Chilean, and having two names and two last names is really common here. Still, I decided to only keep a part of it for her new identity in Remnant.
-Where does the name come from?: Google, duh. I'm not that creative with names so I just searched for some cool-sounding names along with a Chilean name and last name. If it wasn't obvious, one side of her parents is from Chile, while the other is from who knows where, let's not get into the details.
SEMBLANCE AND WEAPON:
-I'm still thinking what weapon to give our MC, any suggestions will be appreciated.
-About the semblance, she will not unlock it for a while, I already know when she will unlock it, but it will take a while. (Hint: It will be during an already canon scene in volume.1)
-The balancing of the Semblance is still something that I'm thinking about.
Once I have a good idea of what things the semblance will be able to do, i will post it here at the end of the chapter.

I'm honestly enjoying writing, so I was thinking of making a second RWBY fanfiction. Remnant's Time Master will still be my main project, but the idea I have for the other fanfiction just sounds way too fun.
It will be Fate related.
