Chapter 9: Brothers Together?
Sparks couldn't stop looking at his frozen brother. There he was, right there, standing...well frozen standing, in front of him. But this brought up some questions...
HOW DID BOLT FIND HIM!? WHY'S HE HERE!? DID SOMEMON HELP HIM!? WAS IT GATOR!? IS GATOR ONTO HIM!? IS HE ALSO HERE!?
All of these questions were going through Sparks' mind faster than he could run. Then he heard the Piplup run back from the entrance of the cave, breaking his train of thought.
"Piplup piplup, pip pip lup!" He said proudly.
Sparks turned to Melody, who was right next to him staring at Bolt.
"What did he say?" he asked.
The turtle finally looked away from the frozen lion and looked to Sparks. "Said, See no other Pokémon." She answered.
Sparks let out a sigh. Well, that's one of the hundred questions he needed answered now taken care of. He then looked back to the block of ice. "So, what are we doing with Bolt?"
"OSHA! OSHA!" The Oshawatt cried out. The Water-Types then started yelling to Melody.
"Wait." Melody said as she talked to the Water-Types. And Sparks could only wait for the answer to come out. He was a bit worried with how the little Pokemon were acting, but it seemed like Melody was trying her best to calm them down.
When she finished talking, she moved towards Bolt, and with a smile on her face said, "Yes, we throw him down the river."
Sparks heart dropped and shattered into hundreds of pieces right then and there. "WE WHAT!?" He yelled.
He then ran between Melody and Bolt. "Hold on! Y-you can't do that! What if Bolt's hurt?"
"Good then." Melody said.
"GOOD?!" Sparks yelled panickily. "But- Don't- He probably needs help!"
Melody shook her head. "No help, he bad Pokémon, can bring trouble."
Sparks was not liking the fact that what she was saying could very much be true. It made it so easy to just agree with her, but he couldn't betray his brother like that.
"N-no! He's a nice Pokémon."
"Really? He stopped me from getting out from ship!" Melody yelled at the Pichu.
But as soon as those words went out of her mouth, the last words Bolt yelled at Sparks came back to him. Most notably the "I never liked you, ever!" phrase still rang in his ear as Melody went to push the ice block.
Sparks looked back at Bolt. Would it really be a good idea to keep him here and free him? Was he really going to let the one Pokemon he didn't want to see go? He started to think about it, I mean, Bolt was fine right? He didn't look too bad, and he wouldn't get hurt anymore if he was out of sight, right?
"We help those..." Sparks' remembered his father's words. He then took a deep breath and ran back in-between of the two Pokemon, standing his ground. "Look, I know he's not perfect, in fact, he doesn't really like me too much, but he needs our help! My Dad told me to help those who can't help themselves, and it was only because of that I helped you get out from Gator's ship! So...No! I will not let you throw him down the river! He's my brother!"
Melody started to get angry, and Sparks started to back up from her until he hit Bolt. He couldn't look away from Melody, the only time she was this mad was back with she was first breaking out from the ship, and she froze everything she got her breath on!
But Sparks still stood strong. "Please, he's family. I won't be able to live with myself if I don't see him again after this!" Sparks cried out to the large turtle.
Melody looked toward the other Water-Types, they were just standing to the side, some of which looking very angry at the mouse, watching the scene. She then looked back at Sparks, who was now horrified, had tears going down his face, scared that his friend would freeze him too, but also not willing to have his brother be thrown down the river at the same time.
Melody took a deep breath in, while Sparks closed his eyes and prepared himself for the worst to happen. He might lose everything he worked hard to get just because he wanted to keep his brother safe.
*Crack!*
Sparks heard something break behind him, he opened his eye and saw that the ice block was broken, and Bolt fell into the ground unconscious.
Sparks looked at Melody. "Make sure he do not hurt us and you." She said.
Sparks smiled and started to walk to his fallen brother. He stared at the body and saw a few bruises and bits of ice still on him. He put his ear onto Bolt's chest, and felt that his heart was still pumping.
Sparks let out a sigh of relief. Seems like everything will be okay...for now.
He then looked back at everymon else. "I'm gonna wake him up." He said as he rubbed both his paws together. "Get everymon to the end of the cave and wait for me to call you back. I'll call you all here when I think it's safe."
Melody then called to the Water-Types, and they all followed Sparks' command, even if they still seemed quite mad.
After seeing that they had left him alone, Sparks placed his paws onto Bolt, and almost immediately the electric that he was building up went around the lion's body, and he woke up in a panic.
"AGH! What? Where? Who?" Bolt cried out as he got onto his four paws, but he then quickly fell back on his belly when his bad paw hit the ground. "Ow!" He cried in pain. He then slowly sat up and looked around. "Where am now?" He said worried.
Sparks, while glad seeing somemon familiar, realized that he should've planned on what to say before waking him up. Oh no, what should he say? Or would that not matter? Should Bolt be the first one to speak? Should he ask Bolt questions now or later? Sparks just shook his head. It didn't look like Bolt had seen Sparks yet, so he needed to say something now.
"...Bolt?" Said Sparks in a quiet, scared tone.
Bolt stopped, and turned around to see his lost brother. The two stared in silence at each for what felt like a whole minute. These two brothers, after almost a whole day of drama, were finally seeing each other, the first time since their heated argument.
"Sparks!?" Bolt asked in shock.
Sparks gulped trying to figure out what to say next. "A...Ya? H-how did you fi-"
But Sparks was tackled by Bolt before he could finish. "Do you know how much trouble you're in now!" The Spark Pokemon yelled, bring back painful memories for the Pichu. "I had to run NONSTOP just to find you! All because you ran away from your mistake and wanted to go to Treasure Town, I had to run through the canyon, battle Wild Pokemon, and make a terrible mistake! And that all leaves Mom and Dad to blame me for everything you-"
Bolt came to a halt as his ear picked up noise from the darker part of the cave, and before he knew it, and light blue beam hit him off of Sparks, and into the cave's wall, freezing the lion once again.
Sparks coughed while getting up and turned to see that it was Melody who froze Bolt...again.
"Me help?" She asked. Sparks thought for a moment that she was going to throw Bolt into the water. But now, after looking at her face more, looked like she wanted to only help Sparks talk to Bolt.
"Sure, I guess it would be better to have you with me." Sparks admitted as he struggled to walk to Bolt. He then looked back to Bolt. "Could you..." Sparks asked with his paws pointing to Bolt.
"Yes." Melody said as she nodded. A glow then appeared around the ice cube in front of Sparks, and before he knew it, Bolt was thawed out, but more like if he broke out, but it didn't seem like he did that.
Bolt fell to the ground again, but caught himself with one of his paws and managed to not scream in pain this time. He then looked toward Sparks again, with a mix of anger and confusion in his face.
"What...just happen-" Bolt's eyes shrank as he noticed the giant blue turtle behind his brother. He could have brushed it off as a different Lapras, considering how they look similar to each other. But Bolt put two and two together fast, and he was NOT happy.
"AGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" He screamed in fear. He then looked back to Sparks. "YOU BROKE OUT THAT WILD LAPRAS FROM GATOR'S SHIP! WHY IN THE NAME OF ARCEUS WOULD YOU DO SOMETHING SO STUPID?!" He yelled.
Sparks looked behind him to see Melody have an angry face toward the Luxio, and then looked back to Bolt. He then struggled, as he didn't quite know how to begin.
"Okay, well- Ugh! It's- *sigh* Alright, I did do that, and this is that 'Wild Lapras', but it all makes sense in-"
"You know, I just found out about your love for "Wild Pokémon" yesterday. But, WHAT THE HECK! It's already bad enough feeding one of those freaks, but to break out one from Gator is..." Bolt then slowly stopped talking as he noticed Melody charge up another Ice Beam.
"I'm not a FREAK!" Melody yelled at Bolt as she fired the beam towards him. Bolt tried to jump out of the way and managed to barely do so. Bolt started to question how the Wild Pokémon could talk, and how it was even out of the water! But he threw those thoughts away as he prepared to fight with what little strength he had left.
"Says the Pokémon who attacked a ship for no reason!" Bolt yelled back.
"Guys! Stop! Don't hurt each other!" Sparks called out to the two.
"Don't you dare tell me what to do!" Bolt yelled back, only for him to get hit with Melody's beam again. However, this only froze most of his body to the ground. Bolt struggled to break out, but he couldn't due to all of his legs being frozen still.
"Agh! This is the WORST day I've EVER had in my LIFE!" Bolt grunted as he tried to break out.
"Don't move. Or you will get hurt, and you WILL go in current." Melody ordered Bolt in a frustrated tone.
Bolt looked at the towering Turtle and felt a huge amount of fear grab him the moment he saw her, and that terrible cyan light charging in her mouth made him feel small. Very small. He didn't want to admit it, but he was in no shape to take on even a weak Pokemon.
Sparks had never seen Bolt so scared in his life, so he decided to calm the two down seeing that things were starting to head in a bad direction.
He put his paw up. "OK! Let's just start over! Uhhh...Bolt, meet Melody, and Melody, meet Bolt." He spoke as he became even more nervous.
"You named that thing?" Bolt said. Melody put her teeth together and fired the Ice Beam, freezing Bolt...once more. Sparks put his ears down and sighed.
Bolt couldn't move anything, except both his eyes, and he could barely remain awake, if it wasn't for him just holding on. All he could see was the light blue ice around him and flashes of Sparks and that...that Wild Pokémon!
How did this happen! Why did this even happen?! Sparks was going to go to Treasure Town with, of all Pokémon in the world, a Wild Lapras that he just met a day ago that had attacked a ship!
But before he could think anymore, his vision turned purple, as if he was looking through a lens. He then felt something around his head. Before he knew it, his head was unfrozen. Bolt blinked a few times, and adjusted his eyes to see the two troublemakers in front of him.
"So, question number one." Sparks said. "How did you-"
Bolt grunted. "Hold on! You didn't answer MY question!"
Melody started charging again. Sparks noticed it and jumped in front of Bolt.
"Whoa! Whoa! Whoa! Whoa! WHOA!" He yelled. "H-how about we all take turns? You know, go back and forth."
Bolt couldn't take his eyes off the Lapras, and carefully tried to get out.
"Back and forth?" Melody asked the Pichu. "It means I ask one question, and then Bolt asks one question. Does that work for you, Bolt?" Sparks asked, with a little mad tone toward Bolt.
Bolt just swallowed. Still confused about how it can talk, and why it's listening to Sparks, but those would have to wait. "A...Y-ya. Okay." Bolt said with a worried smile toward the Lapras.
"Alright, so now that's taken care of, I'll go first." Sparks started. "How did you end up here?"
Bolt took a breath. And began.
*BOOM!*
A long white flash of lightning shot across the sky, along with the pouring rain coming from the black clouds. All reminding the soaked Luxio how bad this storm was, and it felt like it was getting worse by the second. He needed to find some spot, ANY SPOT to rest as fast as he could. But all Bolt could see were mostly flat plains from where he was running.
Bolt started to panic, he needed to get out of this storm! But there didn't seem to be any spot to do that!
Suddenly, Bolt's fur started to pick up something. And before Bolt could look back at his fur, it began to pick up some sparks.
Bolt realized what was going on. "Oh-"
*CRACK!*
Before Bolt could even do something, a stream of lightning landed on Bolt with its incredible energy. The lion's body felt like it was burning everywhere, as Bolt struggled to even breathe with the amount of energy he was hit with.
Bolt's dad had warned him about this, about how lightning is attracted to Electric-Types during a storm such as this, and now Bolt knew what it felt like.
Bolt did his best to shake off the electric from his body by rolling on the ground as if he was on fire, which wasn't the case, but he felt like that! Bolt continued rolling for several seconds, when he pulled himself up to see the steep edge that led to the river down below.
Bolt then got an idea. A crazy one, but anything sounded better to him than being out with the thunder and rain.
Bolt started to run up to the edge, while limping on his back left paw, which felt like it was wrapped in spikes. He saw how far down the current was and noticed some small ledges that led down to it. Bolt took a deep breath in, looked at his brown bag, and his injured foot.
"I'll heal that up once I get down there." Bolt stated as he started to turn around. Then, before he could get hit with any more thunderbolts, Bolt carefully slid down to one edge, landing on it with his two back paws while still holding on to the ledge with his front paws. He then slowly moved his way to his left, which was toward the lower edges.
Bolt did his best to remain calm, and keep his balance, even with his injured foot. He really should have had those berries before he did this, but there was no backing up now. Bolt then came to the lower edge and looked down at it. He took another deep breath and very VERY carefully took his top right paw off the grass and moved his back left paw down to the lower edge.
He bent down, but couldn't reach it. Bolt grunted.
He bent a little lower, still couldn't reach it. Bolt closed his eyes in pain, this was not a good position for him with his top paw still holding onto the grass and his back paw still dangling in the air. He decided to just let go of the grass and grab the edge that he was on with his top paws, and land on the lower edge with his back paws. Bolt turned his head to look down.
It was...doable.
Bolt then let go of the grass and slid down quickly toward the lower edge. But he forgot one thing: He was going to land on his bad paw.
And just as his paw touched the edge, pain shot right up his leg. "AGH!" He yelled. And before Bolt realized it, he started to fall away from the cliff.
The whole world seemed to stop as Bolt saw his paws miss the edge. The lion fell backwards towards the ground, and hit the stone canyon with his back, before falling into the water. Bolt shot his head out of the water. And saw that he was being carried away by the current. He then moved himself toward land and, with the rest of his strength, threw himself into the side of the current.
Bolt painted and moaned in pain, as he turned to face the dark clouds. His back had taken most of the hit, and it felt like he had been stepped on by a Snorlax.
"This is all because of me." He thought as his tears mixed with the rain and water from the river. "If I just hadn't yelled at Sparks."
Bolt grunted, and his pride not only stopped him, but quickly changed his mind. "No! It's Sparks fault, remember?! He ran away, he...he..." Tears went down from Bolt's face; he couldn't tell if it was from his pain or from his guilt. But they were coming down either way.
Bolt had spent this entire day, running nonstop, fighting wild Pokémon, and now this?!
He shouldn't even be here! He should be resting at home, or maybe touching up some of his move set. This was not the idea he had for his day off.
Bolt then slowly pulled himself up, and looked down the river, and that's when he saw the one thing he needed most at the moment: A cave.
Bolt started laughing, but not in the happiest way, as his tears were still falling, and it sounded more like a tired laugh. Bolt looked at his foot, and slowly made his way to the cave.
Finally, he can find a place to rest.
"And then when I got here a W- er... Oshawatt attacked me! So, I fought back, until the Lapras froze me! And that brings us to where we are now." He said.
Sparks, however, wasn't happy with his context, especially that he didn't call Melody by her name. "You're leaving things out, Bolt." Sparks pointed out. "You can't just say that you ran out here by chance. How did you know-"
"Hold on wise guy! It's my turn to ask." Bolt said to stall time for him to think about that question. Melody took a breath in, but stopped when Sparks said, "Alright. Your turn, and I'm guessing that you want to know why I freed her?"
Bolt nodded as much as he could. "Well, it's because she asked for my help." He started. "To be freed from Gator."
Bolt, filled with disgust, just shook his head at him. Ya, he knew it was the same Lapras, but Sparks stating it just made it feel a lot more surprising. He wondered if he hit Sparks' head a little too hard.
"Gator's a good Pokémon, Sparks," Bolt began. "He has a good reason for capturing her."
"And what's that?" Sparks asked.
"That Lapras-"
"Melody." Sparks clarified.
"...Melody," Bolt cringed. He was going to need to get used to saying that. "...attacked his ship."
"And how do you know that?" Sparks asked.
"W-What?" Bolt hated when Sparks was like this. Always needing to be exact. "Well, I could say the same thing about you. Cause you never saw the attack either." Bolt replied.
"I did not hit ship! Ship take me away from home!" Melody yelled.
Both Sparks and Bolt were caught off guard by her. Sparks ears slowly went down. He never asked how Gator captured Melody in the first place, but then again, should he really ask that?
Bolt questioned about answering back, but then stopped. He knew that he was in no position to challenge the Wild Pokémon's (that also could freeze him in a snap) thoughts. So, he kept quiet.
Melody then looked at Bolt closely and noticed his brown bag. "What in bag?" Melody asked.
Bolt's eye shrank. "W-Wait, what?"
"What in your bag?" The Lapras asked. Melody started to move towards Bolt, which just made the lion want to run away, which, unfortunately for him, he could not do.
"We go back and forth, Sparks ask question, you ask question, then I ask question." She states to Bolt.
Bolt starts to panic and tries to find a way out. "N-No, y-you can't ask a question! It's just me and Sparks!" However, Melody failed to find a difference.
Bolt looked to his brother. "Sparks tell her!" He begged, fearing about his own trust.
Sparks however, started sweating. "Well, I never said that exactly. And I do think it would be fair if you'd let Melody, maybe...ask one question."
Bolt gulped as all the alarms went off in his head. The last thing he wanted was for Sparks and Melody to find the 'compass' in his bag. He didn't mention to them that Gator was the reason that he got this far, and he could not let that happen. Because if they did find out, Bolt feared that he'd be fully frozen again, and worse, be thrown down the river. And if that did happen, would Bolt ever get back home? Or maybe the Wild Pokémon would just full out attack him right here!
Bolt had never felt so scared and helpless in his life before! His feeling of pride broke when he was freed for the first time. He would be on his knees if they weren't frozen standing upright. But Bolt didn't see any way out, so he needed to find a way to hide it from them.
"Just some berries and a map. You can see it for yourselves, if you unfreeze me first." Bolt said, trying his best to hide his fear.
Sparks looked at Melody. And while she at first still looked mad at the answer, she nodded, and used Psychic to free the Luxio completely. Bolt felt the energy all around him, and once the ice broke off, he landed on three of his good paws. Bolt looked at his bag and thought how he was going to slip the compass through Sparks and the Lapras without them knowing he was hiding something. He then thought back to when Sparks had to calm down Melody.
Bolt then got an idea. He started to open his bag.
"You know..." Bolt struggled to continue. "I thought freaks like you weren't supposed to go out of the water." He said, making sure he said the F-word loud enough so that the Transport Pokemon would get mad at him.
Melody grunted and started to move to Bolt. He already had a crazy idea before and it failed; he just hoped this one didn't fail him.
Sure enough, the small mouse Pokémon dashed right in front of the turtle, looking away from Bolt.
"I-I'm sure he was just joking!" Sparks told Melody, as she looked down at Sparks, and away from Bolt.
It was working, Bolt knew he had only seconds to hide the compass. He quickly pulled it out and stuffed it under his left front paw. He put his head up to see Sparks and Melody turn to him. Bolt did his best to remain calm.
Sparks then walked up to Bolt and took his bag. Bolt started to think that they didn't notice, but one look at the Lapras reminded him to not get his hopes up too high. He would still need to think about where he'd put the compass later. But all he could do now was wait for Sparks to go through everything and pray to Arceus that he doesn't make him lift up his left paw.
Sparks looked carefully, and slowly through his brother's bag, not wanting to miss anything that could put him and Melody in any sort of danger. But to his surprise, all he saw where berries, a map, and his book that he used for his breakout plan. Sparks while slightly relieved that he didn't find anything related to Gator, still didn't fully trust his brother who 'never liked him'.
"Okay, there doesn't SEEM to be anything from Gator." Sparks told Bolt. "But..." Sparks continued. "How did you know I was around here?"
Bolt took a worried breath in. It was working, he could actually get away with this! All he just needed to do was answer Sparks, while leaving out everything about Gator. "Well, it wasn't too hard. Because one, I took your book, and remembered that you wanted to go to Treasure Town. Two, you...talked to Melody so you could go there. Three, this current was the quickest way to Treasure Town, so I thought that would be the best way to go there. And four, I'm the most talented out of either of us. So, of course I'd find you." Bolt answered, while slightly bragging at the end to try and build back his pride.
Sparks looked at his book and sighed. It really seemed like Bolt was telling him the truth. But the thing is...now what were they going to do?
Sparks put all of the berries and book back into the bag. "First off, I'm not going to Treasure Town, I was only going to go there to get a ride back home. And lastly, here's your bag." Sparks groaned.
"Sparks. Talk to me please." Melody requested. Sparks then turned to Melody. And walked away from Bolt.
"Yeah, Melody?" Sparks wondered.
"What we do about HIM." She said while pointing to Bolt.
"I'm...I'm not sure. I was going to leave you to find your home when we got to Treasure Town."
"Wha-" Melody gasped.
"What?" Sparks asked.
"...Nothing." Melody replied as she looked to her side, looking a little sad, however, Sparks didn't notice, and just continued.
"But now with Bolt here, that makes things a bit more complicated."
"Don't bring Bolt." Melody said. Sparks' ears went up.
"But, why?" Melody raised her eyes at the Pichu. "Alright, I get it. He'll bring trouble. Believe me, I'm a bit confused about him too." The Pichu said. "He said it himself that he doesn't like me, but I don't know leaving him here."
"Not here." Melody ordered. "Make him go home."
Sparks thought about it. "Make him go home? But then he'll..."
Sparks ears went up. "Wait, that's it!" Sparks then ran to Bolt, who had just started to pull out one of his berries from his bag to heal up with.
"What is it now, Sparks?" He said with a berry in his mouth. Sparks knew Bolt didn't like him, but he was going to use that to his advantage.
"Let's make a deal." He began. "You'll join us to go to Treasure Town, but you can't let anything happen to Melody! No attacking her when you're with her and no telling on her either! Or else I'll hand you over to Melody to do whatever she wants to you!"
Bolt looked to Melody, and imagined the pain he might go through. But he felt that the deal was very one-sided and asked Sparks, "Okay...But what do I get in return?"
Sparks takes a breath in. "When we get home, you can say, and do WHATEVER you want to me. You can make up your stories, get Mom and Dad to ground me for life. And I'll agree to your 'story', because I know you don't like me." Bolt blinked seeing that Sparks was fully aware about what he was doing, and what Bolt thought about him. Bolt smiled wickedly and brought up his right paw.
"Alright, sounds-"
"But!" Sparks added. "You CAN NOT say ANYTHING about Melody. EVER. Unless I say so. If you do, I will disagree with any lies you have in your stories, and I'll make things VERY complicated and annoying for you! Alright?" Sparks finished as he put his paw up.
Bolt looked at his brother's paw, then his own. "Alright, deal." He says.
"Bolt," Sparks warned as he put his paw back. "You need to pro- no, swear! That you won't tell anymon about Melody."
Bolt groaned, well, he really didn't want to be frozen again. And still, Sparks was giving him the perfect moment to get his revenge on him.
The taste of revenge was too sweet for Bolt to pass up.
"Fine. I swear, I won't tell anymon about it."
"Her." Sparks demanded.
"Her! Alright!" Bolt groaned as he put out his paw. Sparks looked at the Luxio's paw, he took a breath, and then grabbed his paw. And the two shook paws.
"Sparks," A voice called. The brothers looked to see Melody, who's just staring at them.
"Ya?" Sparks answered. Melody seemed to look worried, which was something that stood out to Bolt, but it didn't seem that Sparks noticed.
"I...so, when are we leaving?" Melody asked. Sparks ran to the outer part of the cave and quickly ran back. "Well, it just seems like it's just raining now, but we should leave when it stops."
Melody puts her head down. "I'll tell other Pokemon that thunderbolt is over." She says as she turns away. Leaving the brothers to themselves. But Sparks takes one glare at Bolt.
"I'm gonna go with her, as I know you can't stand me." Sparks said in an annoyed tone, and then ran to Melody, leaving Bolt alone. Bolt looked at his one leg, it looked healed. And thank goodness. He then turned to his bag and started to think about Gator.
Bolt realized that he could tell Gator that he found not only Sparks, but the Lapras. (No, he was not going to call it by it's name in his head.) He looked to see if Sparks and Melody were out of sight, which they were. He then made his way to the front of the cave.
As he grabbed his bag. Bolt felt uneasy as he pulled out the compass and started to put his paw on the blue Aura Stone.
"Gator?" He coughed out. Bolt waited for a bit, hoping that he'd pick up soon. When suddenly, he answered.
"Ah, Bolt. Are you going through the storm alright?" The friendly Feraligatr asked.
Bolt gulped. "A...ya. I found a cave so I'm resting for a bit."
"Did you find Sparks?"
Bolt froze. "Aaaa, ya." He slipped out.
"Oh, that's great! Is there anything else you found out there?"
Bolt was thinking about saying yes, but then he couldn't mummer the words. Bolt panicked, why was it so hard to speak all of a sudden? Was somemon watching him? Was he hurt?
"Bolt, are you ok?" He could hear from the stone as he thought, but then he realized his problem: He swore that he wasn't going to tell anymon about the Lapras, even if it seemed like the right thing to go for Bolt.
But the Wild Pokémon could talk, and Sparks, as much as he hated to admit it...did save him. He struggled to find a reason for it getting captured and hurt, and it didn't seem like it was that bad of a Pokémon. He then realized Sparks was getting in his head, but...was that bad?
But Gator not a bad Pokemon either. And it's the right thing to do? Right?
But Sparks, he was giving Bolt something he always wanted to do. And Sparks was just going to accept everything Bolt would say about him, right? So, telling Gator would feel like overkilling Sparks, won't it?
Bolt sighed, he didn't like Sparks, but telling Gator...just felt wrong to him at the moment.
"N-no. Besides a few berry bushes, nothing. Thanks for your help." Bolt finished.
"Well, alright then. See you soon." Gator said.
Bolt then took his paw off and quickly placed the compass back in his bag. He couldn't believe it. He cracked under pressure. All he had to do was say that he found the Lapras and he would be fine, everything would go his way. But no. The one thing that he didn't want to do was agree with Sparks, and while he still believed that the Pichu was a whole cause of this mess...it just felt wrong to break a promise he just made.
It's just not the right time. Bolt slowly made his way back towards Sparks and the Lapras, but he still couldn't shake off Gator.
He didn't know why, but he couldn't stop thinking about 'See you soon'.
Gator looked at his ship and took a sigh as he waited for a report on his ship to come in.
He put his compass back into his right pocket, then reached into his left pocket, and pulled out locket, and smiled at it.
"Captain!" Wave calls out to the Feraligatr. Gator then put his locket back and saw the Warturtle running towards him.
"What's the report?" Gator asks.
"Well, you'll be glad to finally hear some good news today, as the ship's pretty much done! Besides a few things like furniture inside the ship."
Gator takes a sigh of relief. "And you've given everymon orders for where we are going, right?"
"Yes Captain!" Wave said.
"Good." Gator said as he started walking on the ship. "Let's start moving immediately! We can place the furniture while we're sailing." Gator continued moving towards his ship, knowing that everything was at long last coming together.
"Well...Captain." Gator stopped and turned to see the Warturtle looking at his map.
"Yes?" Gator asked.
"I'm not doubting you, and I know why you really want that Lapras back. But I need to ask. How is it that you are so sure about this plan?"
Gator grins. "Wave, ever since I've had that Lapras, things have been booming for us. I'm not going to lose it. When I deeply care about something, I'll get it back." He starts to turn away. "And no thief is going to make a fool out of us."
"Justice will be served." He says as he cracks his fists. "And besides, I just found out that I was right all along. So, let's move out towards Treasure Town, before we miss them!"
"Alright Captain." Wave then ran past Gator and told the rest of the crewmates to set sail.
"I don't know where in the world a Pichu like you got the nerve to mess with me." Gator told himself. "But I'll show you why you'll never do it again."
