Chapter 20: One Last Push
This is a bad idea. This is a bad idea. This is a bad idea. This is a bad idea. This is a bad idea. This is a bad idea. This is a bad idea. This is a bad idea. This is a bad idea. This is a bad idea. This is a bad idea. This is a bad idea. This is a bad idea. This is a bad idea. This is a bad idea.
Sparks' head couldn't stop panicking as he saw all of the sailors around both Melody and him as they came closer to Gator's ship. Everything could either go well, or really REALLY bad in the next ten minutes.
But it's not like he didn't come prepared. Sparks and Melody had all of the Evolution Stones frozen in one big ice block, which meant that they were bringing Gator hopefully more than what he wanted (it also looks really nice when the sunlight shines through it).
Of course, Bolt told Sparks and Melody about the details Gator went through to capture Melody in the captain's book. And Sparks couldn't really handle too much of that, and it probably just made the Lapras more anger towards the captain. And he was sure that she would only get even more mad once they started to talk to him.
"Sparks! Lapras!" Gator called out, waving his claws in the air. "You're both okay!"
"Just stay cool. If you do that, then maybe we'll have a better chance at getting out of this." The Pichu told Melody.
To his surprise, the Lapras nodded. Sparks took in one of his deepest breaths ever, and then exhaled. "Yep, and we brought back all of the stones in the cave too!" Sparks said, doing his best to sound normal.
"Did you have some trouble in those caves?" Gator asked. Sparks wasn't sure if the captain truly meant that, but he honestly answered the question.
"Melody got hit badly in the back of the head while we were going down the current. Thankfully, she was still able to fight off the few Dark-Types in the cave. So we're alright." Sparks said as Melody came right up to the ship.
Sparks heard a few gasps and awes from the sailors around him. And he noticed that most of there eyes were locked onto the huge shiny chunk of ice on Melody's shell.
"Here, let me take that off of your shell." Gator said in a calm tone. And the Pichu could tell that Melody was trying her best not to bite Gator as he came towards her shell. Gator put his claw on the ice and looked at all of the glamming stones frozen into it.
He then looked towards Sparks. "I'm going to just break this, everymon around me pick up all of the stones you see!" He called out to his crew. The Feraligatr then raised his claw as it went dark. He then cuts through the block of ice as if it were nothing.
The colorful stones then scattered from each other and fell into the water, the waters around Melody were then covered by Marshtomps, Wingulls, and even a Poliwhirl grabbing the stones from the ocean floor. Sparks looked at Gator as the Big Jaw Pokemon grabbed one of the stones, and gave a good long look at it.
Sparks couldn't help but feel worried about all of this, and wanted this to be over as soon as he could, but he also didn't want to leave too abruptly either.
So they were left playing the waiting game.
Sparks and Melody stayed in the same spot as the crewmates carried all the stones, and dropped them into a bag. The Pichu noticed that there was a Wartortle writing on a notepad. Sparks guessed that he was counting the stones.
For a few minutes, all that was heard was the clanking of stones hitting each other. Sparks kept his eye on Gator, and noticed that Gator was more focused on the stones than before.
"Is he really into the stones? Or does he not want to look at us?" Sparks thought.
Finally after what felt like forever, the Wartortle held up his board to Gator. "Sir, with all of these stones, it seems like we could buy a whole new ship!" Wave said with excitement.
Sparks found that to be a good time to speak up. The Pichu cleared his throat a little louder than normal to get everymon to listen.
"Well, it seems that we did a good job for you!" Sparks said, doing his best to sound normal. Sparks noticed that some of the sailors nodded their heads in agreement or shrugged their shoulders, but Gator looked like he was thinking about what to say.
Sparks didn't like that.
The yellow mouse turned to Melody, and Sparks could tell that she was holding to her own thoughts.
"I suppose so." Gator finally said. Sparks and Melody turned to him, waiting for him to say something else. But they were only met with more silence.
Sparks really began to feel sick. What should he do now? Say something? But what? What was he supposed to say against that? He didn't even know what Gator thinks about this?! What should-
"I want to go home now!" Melody blurted out loud. "Please."
Or just go straight to the point, that was probably the best idea.
Sparks looked towards the sailors, only to see that they were looking at each other, as if they didn't know what to say...which was a good sign for the Wild Pokemon.
Sparks looked at Gator, and saw that he was getting worried. But what did that mean? Was he going to release her? Or was he too stubborn to let that happen.
Bolt had gone over Gator's book during the climb upstream, and it really seemed that Gator mentally needed this. So it was safe to say Gator probably wouldn't let her go. But from what it also seemed like, Gator was the only one who knew the true story, and none of the other sailors. Which means that they didn't have much of a reason to keep Melody.
So maybe Sparks could get them on his side.
Sparks closed his eyes, picturing what he was going to say next. "Gator, you did say you'd think about it if we did well enough. And I can guarantee that I got every stone I saw after we beat the Dark-Type Pokemon."
That wasn't a lie, Sparks did collect all of the stones he saw. It's just that his brother Bolt used one of the stones to evolve before all the Dark-Types were defeated.
Gator just crossed his arms, but Sparks could see that the sailors were beginning to warm up for Melody. Sparks noticed Wave looking at Melody.
"And Wave was it?" Sparks asked to the smaller turtle. "You said with the amount of stones you have, you could get a whole new ship right?"
Wave looked at his notes for a minute, and then nodded. "That is correct. Not to mention that Melody here has helped us gain a lot more Poke ever since she-"
Gator moved in front of him, and showed his sharp teeth to Sparks. "But you're also leaving out the fact that you two caused us more damage when you illegally broke that Lapras out!" Gator stated.
Sparks gulped. Gator knew what he was up to, but he wasn't going to back down either.
"Well, if you were able to fix the ship fast enough to catch us near Treasure Town in just one day, then I doubt the damages were that bad."
Wave nodded towards Sparks and opened his mouth, but Gator put his claw over him. "That Lapras is my property. She leaves when I decide she's done enough."
Sparks smiled as he thought of a new argument. "Melody's been with you for months now! And now that Melody's able to talk almost like anymon else, how you kidnaped and forced me on this very dangerous mission, and how you fought against my brother, I think you'll get into even more trouble if you hold onto her. Just saying."
Sparks opened his eyes and saw Gator look furious, but not in a threatening way, but more of a 'annoyed that Sparks was right about everything' look he suddenly remembered Bolt having at times like this.
Gator then looked at his own sailors, and realized that they were starting to worry about Melody. "You think I don't know what you're up to?" Gator said coldly. "You think scaring my crew into doing what you want is going to work!?"
"What is so bad when you let me go?" Melody said. "I have been wiped, overworked, and away from my home for too long! Didn't I do enough of your work!?" Melody said with tears in her eyes.
Sparks couldn't tell if she was faking the tears to help Sparks or meant them, but either way, it was making some of the sailors look away in shame. Sparks smiled at that.
"We can make a deal right now while we're here." He held up his right paw. "I'll promise to never mention this to anymon if you let go of Melody right now."
"And I will stay quiet too about this if you do that!" Melody quickly followed up. Sparks could tell she was desperate, but so could Gator.
"Don't play that game Pichu." Gator muttered as he took a step towards them as he got a wide smile. "Because you did one thing to me, that you can never get away with."
He then grew a wicked smile across his face. "Where is it?" He said.
Sparks' mind started to panic, but he had to play dumb. "What are you talking about?"
"You know what I'm referring to." Gator said firmly. "My little book."
Sparks panicked. He knew. He knew. He knew. He knew! Sparks noticed that some of the sailors started talking to each other, but he couldn't tell what. But he knew that he still needed them on his side.
"What do you mean? We've just been in your small little jail, and then down the current this whole time! You should know that the best because you've been keeping an eye on us!"
"Ah, you say that with hints of fear you know?" Gator said with a smile. "But don't worry, I know you didn't do it. But I know that you seem to have a strong connection with other Wild Pokemon. May I remind you about all of those Wild Pokemon that helped you the night of the breakout?"
"You think I got somemon to take it from you? How could I do something like that?! Like I said, you've been watching me this whole time. How could I get away with telling a Wild Pokemon 'Hey, take this one book from Gator.'? I don't even know where you keep it!"
"Oh trust me, I'm sure you've had a lot of time to think about this moment." Gator moved within a foot from Sparks face. "Don't think I haven't noticed the light show in the water, or the long breaks that you took while you were in the caves. I'm just asking who 'all of us' is." Gator then looked at Sparks eye-to-eye.
And the mouse could see a small flicker of purple in his eyes. Sparks gulped. "B-but, I didn't do anything. I don't know where it-"
"LIAR!" Gator screamed as he raised his claw. Sparks eyes were hypnotized to the black glow of the captain's claw. And he didn't even move when it went down toward Sparks' fragile body.
"NOOO!" Melody screamed as she turned her body so Sparks wouldn't get killed. But while she saved Sparks, the side of Melody's neck wasn't safe at all. Sparks watched in horror as the dark claws cut through the side of her neck like butter. And splashes of blood quickly followed.
Melody then let out a cry of pain, before she started coughing in pain. Every sailor was shocked at their captain (some of them even ran away in fear), and Gator himself started to grunt and gain more of a purple glow to him.
"If she goes, then I'll be reminded of all my pain! All of my nightmares will come back!? So I'm going to doing what I should have done from the start!" Gator screamed unpokemon-like.
As he ran through the water and jumped onto his ship like a crazy Pokemon, Sparks jumped into the red waters, and looked at Melody. The cut, well it seemed much worse than that, but it was nothing a berry couldn't fix, right?! If the mark on the back of her head could stop bleeding, then surely so would this.
"Melody! Are you alright?! Get up! GET UP!" Sparks screamed in horror.
Melody opened her right eye. "Y-yes." She coughed out. "Are you okay?"
"Here! Take this!" Wave said as he held an Organ Berry. "You must leave right now! I've never seen the captain like this before! And from the looks of it, I'm sure he'll kill the both of you if he gets the chance!"
Sparks didn't even hesitate to take the berry from Gator's right claw mon, and neither did Melody. As she opened her mouth right away and ate the berry. But then suddenly, while Melody was still chewing, a loud crash was heard on the ship. And then everymon's eye shrank as a huge cannon was uncovered, with a furious captain aiming it right at Sparks and Melody.
"THIS IS FOR OUR LIVES!" The Feraligatr screamed with a purple aura surrounding him.
"He's gonna kill Sparks!" Bolt screamed as he started swimming towards the ship.
"And Melody too! Don't forget about her!" Karah said angerly.
"S-sorry, it's just...Go find Wally now!" The Luxray ordered the Popplio.
"What!? But I want to help!" She protested.
"You will if you find the one thing that could calm Gator down!" Karah was about to say something against that, but then she thought about it.
"But, what are you going to do?" She asked concerned about Bolt.
Bolt used his x-ray vision to look at Gator. "I'm going to fight him."
"But didn't he freeze you the last time you fought?"
"Ya."
"And wouldn't he try to kill you then?"
"Ya."
"And don't you have to worry about-"
"Leave now! Or you're going to make me change my mind, and then they'll both die!" Bolt yelled at the seal.
Karah hesitated at first, but then she nodded. "Good luck!" She called out as she swam away from the lion as fast as she could.
Bolt only shook his head towards his new idea. Go up against Gator to save his brother and a Wild Pokemon? Definitely something he would have never thought of doing a week ago. But he's changed since then, and this was the second time doing it.
And besides, he was now a Luxray who wanted some payback. Bolt took in a deep breath and used his x-ray vision to see where Gator was. The Captain had just slashed Melody's neck and went into the ship, which neither of those things were good, and Bolt needed to know the best time to strike.
The lion's eyes went wide with how he was able to look through the ship. Sure he had to look past all of the skeletons first. But in only just a few seconds, he was able to spot Gator, who just grabbed something huge from the ship, and was bring it to the top deck in front of Sparks.
Bolt started to feel sick, and not just from the headache the x-ray vision was giving him, but from what Gator had. The object looked like something huge, tubelike, and had a huge metal sphere in it.
That's got to be some kind of cannon!
Bolt started to move quicker as he still had his eyes on everymon by the ship. From what it looked like. Melody had fainted, Sparks was standing still, some of the sailors were swimming away from this whole scene in general, and Gator seemed to be screaming towards Melody. He was probably saying something along the lines of 'Now you're going to die because of so-and-so.'.
Bolt's heart was pumping faster than it had since yesterday morning, but he seemed to be going faster thanks to his new form. But of some strange reason, his lungs started to feel tingly. Was it part of his new form? Was he just tried out?
He didn't know, but decided not to think about it too much as he continued forward. But now that he had the-
He noticed that Gator grabbed something small, and then held it to the...
Holy Milktank, he was actually going to kill them!
Bolt then moved his paws across the seafloor as fast as he could. He had to stop Gator before anything worse happened!
Bolt felt a white aura around him as he seemed to pick up more speed. He was just a couple of yards away from the ship when he bent down and launched himself out of the water. It felt so weird, being able to jump so high and fast with little effort, but Bolt was sure he'd be able to show of his new body to Gator when he fought him.
Speaking of...
The Sea Captain didn't even say a word, and was just able to see the angry Luxray as Bolt slammed into Gator's face, and jumped off of him, causing Gator to lose his grip on the cannon. Bolt landed right next the powerful weapon, while Gator fell towards the other side of the ship. Bolt couldn't help but feel on top of the world, as he saw the captain struggle to get up.
Bolt took this moment to take his stand. "Yo Gator! Up for a rematch?" Bolt said with confidence.
However, the way that Gator got up was strange and creepy. At some points, it felt like his arms and legs were some sort of rag doll, and the purple glow in Gator's eyes didn't help Bolt at all.
Definitely didn't see this with his x-ray vision.
The Water-Type then turned his head towards Bolt, as he was starting to put things together.
"You...you followed me. You were the one to take my book!" He then wore a creepy smile on his face as he saw the cannon, and showed his sharp teeth. "Give it to me...NOW. I will not hesitate to use that on you too!"
Bolt turned his eyes to see the cannon right behind him. He could hear some sailors and maybe Sparks, but Bolt couldn't hear any of them clearly.
"If you want to use this cannon, you got to get through me. But you don't have to do-"
"The suffering that Lapras did to me is more than you could ever know!" Gator said as he stood up.
"You mean 'a Lapras,' Melody's done nothing wrong to you and you know it! She just wanted to help all the sailors, and you made her attack the ship!" Bolt realized a little too late that he shouldn't have said that last part.
As Gator seemed to grow even more menacing. "That. Just. PROVES IT!" Gator yelled as he charged right towards Bolt. Bolt let out a shriek in panic, as he quickly got yellow sparks around his body, and fired it towards the captain. But unlike last time, Gator didn't throw of his coat, but he took the shoot and just continued running towards Bolt.
"He's fighting harder and not smarter now!" Bolt realized.
Gator was only a few feet in front of him when Bolt hardened his tail, and and jumped into the air to swing his Iron Tail right at the captain's face. The Feraligatr fell on his face, but then quickly got up and showed Bolt his glowing eyes.
Gator's right claw then glowed in a darker shade of purple and tried to slash the lion the same way he did with Melody. Fortunately, Bolt jumped back in time and shot a Thunder Wave from his paws. Bolt had the type advantage, he was fully evolved, and he already fought Gator. And maybe Gator already knew this, because he was focused on just the cannon.
Bolt could do this. He just had to hit him harder, and a Thunder Wave could at least stop him in his tracks.
But the wave didn't seem to affect Gator at all, or at least he wasn't showing it, as the captain reached for the cannon.
Bolt's tail hardened again. "Oh no you don't!" He said as he swung his tail to smack the cannon away from the two of them.
"NO!" Gator yelled as the cannon rolled towards the edge. The captain reached out to the cannon, and grabbed it as it was leaning on the edge. Bolt smiled at his chance, the cannon probably wasn't waterproof, so with Gator trying to save it, he would also be at a greater disadvantage.
He got in a starting pose, as the white aura returned to him. Bolt then started running, then jumped towards the captain. Only for Bolt's eye's to shrink as Gator backhand slapped Bolt in the face, sending the lion a few yards away from him. Bolt let out a few grunts as he tumbled across the floor and finally stopped himself.
Bolt let out a grunt of pain, as he suddenly was trying to catch his breath. Panic went through his mind. On one side of his head, his Shinx side was saying: Is it happening already? Was his body not strong enough for his new strength? Sparks was right! This is too much!
But then the other side said: You are in a fight! You're too far into it! You can't back down now, he'll kill you!
A bright blue light then shined in Gator's mouth, and Bolt jumped out of the way of Gator's Ice Beam in time. But that didn't stop Bolt from coughing and catching his breath. Bolt then took one deep breath and turned towards Gator. However, Bolt was caught off guard by the strange look he was giving the Luxray.
"You used one of the stones..." Gator said, as he placed the cannon down and took a step towards Bolt. "The way you're breathing, you're not used to your body yet."
Bolt wanted to use a Thunder Bolt, but just as soon as he tried to use it, he got a bad cramp in his chest. "And here I thought you were fully evolved, but no, you're just the same weak Luxio who lost against me, and now it'll happen all over again."
Bolt's tail hardened. "I'll show you weak!" Bolt swung his tail with all of his anger, but Gator, completely unfazed, grabbed the X-ray Pokemon's tail. And before Bolt could let out a yelp, Gator swung Bolt over his head, and slammed the Electric-Type into the ground.
Bolt tried to find the energy to shock Gator, just a little, but nothing seemed to be working for him. But it didn't matter anyways, as the next thing he knew, Bolt went airborne off the ship, and landed face first on the beachside with a loud thud and a splash.
Bolt opened his eyes and took in a breath of water, only to cough it out of his mouth. Bolt quickly got his head out of the water, and then took in his much needed gasps of air.
And then Bolt looked into the water in horror. He couldn't breath underwater anymore. Soak had run out on him.
But then something grabbed the back of Bolt's head, and shoved him into the water again. The lion was able to sneak in a small inhale of air, but then had his face stamped into the sand. Bolt tried to use a move, but he found it to be very difficult in the position he was in, not to mention his body was having cramps all over and it needed air!
Bolt would be crying out for help and pleading for his life if he wasn't underwater. Bolt tried to move his arms around, trying to break free, but Gator's grip was too strong. So he tried to move them in a way that could at least say something like 'Help! I'm going to be killed by this crazy sea captain!'
But Bolt realized another horrible thing, he told Sparks and Melody that he had Soak used on him. So they may not even help him because of that. They might think he's faking it so that Bolt could get a cheap shot of Gator!
"No! I can't die like this!" Bolt thought in his head. "I can't! I don't want to! I'm just a kid!"
Slowly, it seemed that Bolt's mind was getting clearer and clearer, and he was screaming in the inside. Bolt felt his lungs begin to burn and the feeling seemed to go up his throat. Bolt got an idea, Roar.
He never truly thought that move could do something beside scare somemon, but the more and more Bolt thought about it, if he could just scared Gator just a little bit, he could wiggle out. Sure he would be using his much needed air, but it seemed like a better idea than just doing nothing. Hopefully he didn't think that from the lack of air.
Bolt felt all of his power and air go into his mouth, he only had one chance to do this, so he had to go all out. Bolt then let out the biggest roar he could possibly do right into the sandy floor. A sizable splash covered Gator's body for a moment, causing sand and water to go into the captain's eyes, and make his grip loosen. Bolt felt even more tighter inside, but with all of his energy left in him, rolled to his back and gasped for air.
It felt like he was being filled with life again, as the air seemed to heal much faster compared to any berry he had eaten. But the Luxray knew that Gator could put him under the water again.
"The Soak wore off! I need help!" Bolt cried out as he opened his eyes to see the captain. Bolt's eyes went wide as he saw Gator's claw go dark again, and Bolt flopped backwards to dodge the swipe, but then slipped on his back left paw. Bolt grunted in pain, as he still needed more air, as he looked up to see the captain.
Bolt would have screamed at the captain's purple glow in his eyes, and his wide, deadly smile across his face, but Bolt was too weak for that.
He was going to die right here.
"THUNDER BOLT!" A small yet loud voice screamed, and suddenly, lightning covered the soaked captain and some of the water around him. The Feraligatr turned around to see a small Pichu, who looked more hurt from using the attack then Gator was by getting hit by it.
Bolt was never in his life more thankful for Sparks appearing, but there was the Pichu right in front of him, and Bolt felt relieved. Until he realized that Sparks had even worse odds against Gator. Sparks was a Baby Pokemon going up against a towering Feraligatr, and was going to be ripped into shreds if he wasn't careful.
WHAT WAS HE THINKING!?
Gator was probably thinking the same thing too, as he let out a laugh that sounded more like a screech than anything. "You think you can stop me?! A little helpless Pichu like you against me? Don't you see your defeated brother?!" Gator laughed.
But to everymon's surprise, Sparks smiled. And Bolt realized that meant he knew about this, which meant he planned this out.
A bright cyan light was shot, and hit Gator's right side, and froze him solid before he could let out a cry a pain. Bolt looked to his side to see a very tried, injured, but smiling Lapras coming up to them.
Bolt suddenly lost the rest of his energy, and felt like just falling asleep, but then Sparks went right up to Bolt's face. "Eat this! Quick! Before you faint!" He said as he shoved the Oran Berry into Bolt's mouth. Bolt would've hated Sparks being so close to him and feeding him, but he was just happy to be alive.
"Thanks." Bolt coughed out with his mouth full of berry juice.
"I don't really want to say this about using the stone but, told you so?" Sparks said.
Bolt let out a grunt in return. "Can you still fight?"
Sparks followed up saying, "Don't know how much, but Gator can't have too much left in him?"
Sparks and Melody looked at each other, but were interrupted by a loud crack. The three Pokemon then looked towards the shaking iceberg.
"Freeze him again!" Bolt yelled to Melody.
"No, that will only slow him down, not hurt him! He needs to break out first, then we'll be able to hurt him more...I never thought I'd say something like that." Sparks said to the Wild Pokemon as Gators eyes started to move.
"Then get ready..." Bolt said as he took a stance. The iceberg continued to shake and make sizeable cracks in progress, but then they slowed down, and came to a complete stop.
For a few seconds, no noise was heard from anymon. Bolt turned his head in confusion and looked towards Sparks and Melody to see the two of them standing ready for anything, so Bolt turned back to the frozen Pokemon. And waited, and waited, and waited.
Bolt groaned and turned his body to Sparks. "Are you sure we can't just attack now-" But while he was speaking, a one loud crash was heard and when Bolt turned to where Gator was, he could only see a glimpse of his dark claw before Melody fired at Gator. Gator's body slammed into the tall ice block, but then quickly broke through it as Bolt jumped back.
No, Melody didn't fire the beam at Gator, it was far too close to Bolt and too tall and thin to freeze somemon. She fired it in front of Bolt to...protect him.
But Bolt didn't have time to think about how weird that seemed to him, as Gator was eyeing the three of them, perhaps planning his next move. Bolt looked to Sparks and noticed he also seemed to be thinking.
"You have some sort of plan, Sparks!?" Bolt yelled.
But to his surprise, Sparks stook his head. "I haven't battled enough to make strategies!"
Bolt grunted out loud. For once in his life, he was depending on his little brother to help him in a battle, and now he says, 'I haven't battled enough to make strategies!'. You aced your battle exam for crying out!
Bolt shook his head. "Not now." He thought. "You need to focus on fighting, not arguing."
Besides, this could be his chance to show Sparks and Melody what he could do, at least until Karah came back with the book.
Where was she anyways?
Focus. The killer Captain. Fight him. But what could he do?
Bolt looked towards where he last saw where the Captain was, only to see him go into the water as much as he could to head right towards Melody. The Lapras quickly rose up the waters around her, and used Surf to throw a wave towards the Captain.
The Captain could have gone around it, but he chose to charge right at it. Gator dove into the waters with great speed, however, it died down in moments as the wave carried Gator away from the three.
Gator let out an ear splitting scream, not of pain, but of annoyance.
Bolt would love to use a Thunder Bolt on him so badly, but when Sparks used it on Gator, it hurt everymon around the waters, so there was no telling how much using one right now would hurt. Gator would need to be out of the water if Bolt really wanted to hurt him, or the other way around.
Gator seemed to not care about planning so much, as he found out earlier, Gator seemed a lot more physical then thinking things out. Maybe they could out smart him by getting him up into the air. The lion looked at his tail and a crazy idea popped into Bolt's head. One so crazy, that he wasn't even sure if Sparks would even consider it.
Hopefully it wasn't because Bolt was low on air from a while back, but hey, if one plan worked, why not another?
"Let's see what you think about this." Bolt chuckled in his head. "Sparks! Get on Melody right now!" Bolt yelled at his brother. Sparks hesitated, but Melody nodded.
"Do you have a-?"
"Melody! Do you know Surf?!" Bolt yelled as he started to run far off from the side of Melody.
"Yes! But-"
"Use it when I say so! And Sparks, use Thunder Bolt when I say so too! Trust me!" Bolt saw the Lapras and Sparks hesitate, but after looking towards Gator, they seemed to at least be confident enough in Bolt to trust him.
Bolt then turned to the Captain, who was now panting about thirty yards from Melody.
Bolt smiled. "No wonder you couldn't save your family! You're nothing, but a weak Pokemon!" Bolt yelled at the Captain. He couldn't see it, but he felt that both Sparks and Melody were looking at him, and not in a good way, as Bolt was more focused on Gator's death stare towards them.
"No! I'm not weak!" Gator yelled towards Melody. "She took everything from you, and now it'll happen all over again! And you'll be stuck in your endless loop of torment forever!" Bolt said.
Sparks yelled, "Bolt, what the heck are you think-"
"NOOOOO! I'LL KILL YOU RIGHT HERE, RIGHT NOW!" Gator screamed louder than he ever did. The huge Water-Type then got on his claws, and charged right towards Melody.
"It's working." Bolt thought as he started to run towards where Gator was.
"Use Surf when I say 'go'!" Bolt yelled as he continued towards Gator's side.
Melody gulped, and Sparks took cover behind one of Melody's spikes on her shell. Gator was doing the same thing as he did before, he was charging right at Melody. But Bolt was running in a way that he would slam into Gator just in front of Melody. The lion's heart pounded a little too hard as his cramps started to come back, but he couldn't let that slow him down, or else the plan wouldn't work.
He just had to get closer to Gator. Gator was twenty yards from Melody. Bolt was about half that from Gator. Just a little closer. Gator was now ten yards from Melody, and Bolt seemed to just be in tail's reach as his tail went glowing again.
"Go!" Bolt yelled as he got behind the Captain. Melody didn't need to be told again, as her water went up, and were thrown towards Gator, and now Bolt.
Just as planned.
Gator once more dove into the wave, and while he seemed to be going a bit faster this time around, he started to slow down just as Bolt's tail gleamed in iron. Bolt, with the all his might, slammed his tail into the Captain's chest, and swung it upwards.
Bolt hoped that the wave and his tail could throw the captain out of the water and leave him open. Bolt felt the wave hit himself, but thanks to being right behind Gator, the waters weren't as strong as they were to the Captain. Bolt turned his head upwards to see the Pokemon in the air, just a few yards above the water.
It worked. Bolt's body began the charge up, to which while it hurt when the sparks cracked into the water, it wasn't going to hurt him as much as Gator.
"Sparks, now!" Bolt yelled as he fired a Thunderbolt with the last of his strength. His body was very cramped, he was tried, he had just used an Iron Tail to lift a Feraligatr into the air, but he had to finish this. Bolt could just hear his brother yell as there was a small shot of lighting along with the huge lightning beam. They then hit the airborne captain with a loud explosion and a blinding white light.
Bolt seemed to be using the Thunder Bolt for tens of seconds, as all he could really hear was the screaming of the captain. But slowly Bolt couldn't hold it anymore, and fell to the ground in exhaustion.
If it weren't for the fact that his mouth went underwater, he could have slept right there. But once the water went into his mouth, Bolt stood up, and coughed it all out. He then turned to see the fried captain laying on the beach floor. Bolt felt like saying something, but couldn't find the energy. He then turned to Sparks and Melody to see them have scared faces. Bolt turned back to the captain and raised his eyebrows when he saw the captain very, very slowly get up.
"Come on!" Bolt whined out loud. How could the captain fight after something like that?! But he didn't seem like he could fight, he couldn't! He was a Water-Type! That should have ended it!
Gator stood on both of his legs, but instead of charging at them, he pointed at them with his claw. "CREW! ATTACK ALL OF THEM! NOW!" Gator screamed as he pointed towards the three kids. Bolt then turned towards the ship and saw almost every crewmate there.
Bolt whined, Gator couldn't fight, but his crewmates still could. And even with them being Water-Types, Bolt didn't know how well he could even walk.
But as they came closer towards the three of them, Bolt started to see worried faces on them. Bolt didn't know what to think until the Wartortle spoke up.
"No! You're taking this too far Captain!" Wave said, with a hint of fear in him. "You were going to kill the Lapras after she did what you said!"
"Are you not seeing what that did to me?" Gator said showing his teeth.
"Out of self-defense!"
"That Luxray stole from me!"
Bolt turned to the captain. "You wouldn't have had ANY of those stones if it weren't for me! I saved Sparks and Melody's life in there!"
Gator started shaking. "No- I- You- They-"
"Let. Them. Go. They've done enough for us." Wave said calmly. But Gator didn't like that one bit. As somehow. Gator seemed to gain his energy back.
"Fine! I don't need you! I'll kill her-"
"Shut up!" Melody screamed as she shot the biggest beam of light from her mouth. In moments the Captain was frozen into a mountain of ice. And finally, at long last, Bolt saw Gator's eyes close.
It was over. They had won.
"Holy Miltank! That's huge!" A young female voice said. Bolt turned around to see Wally and Karah next to Melody and Sparks, and with the book in Karah's bubble. "Yeah, you didn't kill him did you?" Sparks asked to Melody.
She shook her head. "He'll be fine. All that matters is that I got the last hit." She finished with a smile. Karah then held the bubble. "So...are we going to give the book back to Gator when he gets up or-"
"No!" Everymon yelled at once.
"Right, that's probably not a good idea..."
"..."
"So, what did we miss?"
