The Professor watched calmly as Yuina met Edo's eyes confidently. 'She's improved quite a bit, and her new cards address her decks weakness directly. Of course, the real question is will she be able to achieve victory.'
"You said you and Dystopia can handle anything I throw at you?" Yuina challenged. "Well can you handle this; I equip Destiny HERO – Dystopia with the Sacred Seal spell card!"
As she said that a series of symbols appeared on Dystopia's body before he turned to stone.
"What the, what just happened to my Dystopia?" Edo questioned in shock.
"My Sacred Seal locks away his power for two turns." Yuina smiled. "He can't attack, defend, or use any special abilities. Which means now that the coast is clear I can use Sealed Robin to unlock the Seal of Wind! I summon Unsealed Falcon in attack mode!"
A tornado appeared behind her before fading to reveal a green falcon with markings across its body appeared before flapping its wings as Edo's D-Fortune was revealed before being blown back to his hand.
"A monster that returns spell and trap cards to the hand?" Edo questioned.
"Unsealed Falcon can only return one card to the owner's hand." Yuina explained as her temple started to glow again and she set a card only to smile. "Now, I use Sealed Bat and Sealed Zombie to unlock the Seal of Darkness! I summon, Unsealed Necromancer!"
Yuina's side of the field became enveloped in darkness as the silhouette of a humanoid figure and a bat appeared only to vanish along with the darkness as a figure in a black robe with purple markings appeared next to Unsealed Falcon as Yuina set another card.
"Zero attack points?" Edo questioned seeing that. "Your monster must have a powerful special ability."
"It does, for every Sealed Monster in the graveyard Unsealed Necromancer gains 500 attack points." Yuina smiled. "I have five Sealed monsters in my graveyard."
Edo's eyes widened seeing that. "Well even with your two monsters they only have 3200 attack points and I have 3800 life points."
"That's true, but I haven't normal summoned yet this turn and I have my Sealed Salamander." Yuina mentioned. "Now, I attack with all three of my monsters!"
Edo's eyes widened in disbelief as he was struck and sent flying back while his life points dropped to zero.
"It seems you were correct." The Professor stated calmly. "The new cards you've added turn your deck's prior weakness into a strength."
"Thank you Professor." Yuina smiled hearing that. "Just knowing that I can aid you in our goals makes me happy."
The Professor met her eyes before frowning. "While I appreciate your enthusiasm… the fact is there is still much to prepare before we can begin our plans. It will likely be years before they can begin."
"I understand Professor, I'll continue to grow as a duelist so when the time comes, I won't fail you." Yuina replied with a smile just before the doors opened and an older man walked into the room.
"Professor, we have a small problem." the man mentioned.
"Is it him again?" the Professor inquired before closing his eyes. "Bring him to me."
"Of course Professor." the man stated before leaving the room.
"Professor? Is everything alright?" Yuina asked hesitantly seeing that.
"It isn't anything you need to concern yourself with." the Professor informed her. "One of your classmates simply has a small problem that I need to address."
Yuina frowned hearing that. "Could I do anything to help?"
The Professor turned to her hearing that before closing his eyes. "Come here Yuina, there's someone you need to meet."
A few minutes passed at that before the older man walked in alongside a boy Yuina's age with purple hair and a frown on his face.
"Yuri." the Professor said looking at the purple-haired boy before turning to the older man. "Leave us."
"Professor." the older man nodded before leaving the room.
"I should head out too, there's something I need to look into." Edo mentioned before leaving the room leaving Yuina, the Professor, and Yuri by themselves.
"Professor, who's this?" Yuri asked curiously.
"This is Yuina, a new student of Duel Academy and a young girl who has created her own unique summoning mechanic." the Professor answered before putting his hand on Yuri's shoulder. "I assume this is for the usual reason?"
Yuri frowned at that. "They're all so weak, I tried holding back like you suggested but they still weren't even a small challenge and now my classmates are afraid to even try and duel me."
'Afraid to duel him? Just who is he?' Yuina thought nervously hearing that.
"I see, even without using that card you still won your duels?" the Professor asked only for Yuri to nod causing him to smile softly. "That's simply because you're a stronger duelist than they are Yuri… I'm pleased that your talents are continuing to grow."
Yuri's eyes lit up at that and he smiled. "Thank you Professor."
"Professor… what card are you talking about?" Yuina asked him, causing the Professor and Yuri to both turn to her.
"Yuri is in possession of a rather unique dragon type monster known as the Starving Venom Fusion Dragon." the Professor answered. "It's exceptionally powerful and I've yet to hear of him losing when he plays it."
Yuina's eyes widened in shock at that before turning to Yuri. "A monster so strong you've never lost?"
"That's right, and you created your own summoning mechanic?" Yuri inquired. "Do you mind if I ask what it is?"
Yuina blinked before starting to explain her Unseal Summoning mechanic as the Professor looked at the two of them thoughtfully only to close his eyes. 'With how fast Yuri's skills are growing and the new mechanic Yuina is learning to master things are progressing even faster than I anticipated. It won't be long until the Arc-Area Project is ready to begin.
(The new cards and support added to her deck allowed Yuina to achieve a victory in her rematch with Edo and she has met a young duelist named Yuri who has shown interest in her Unseal Summoning. Next chapter an older Yuina will receive an assignment directly from the Professor and take her first steps in a new world. As always any reviews or critique is appreciated.)
