UA's Saiyan Heroes
"Wow, Pro level work, only minutes after earning your provisional licenses." A news reporter said, looking into the camera as she sat in Class-A's dormitory. "This morning we welcome two students from U.A, young heroes who recently took down some rampaging villains." She stated, turning to look at Katsumi and Todoroki who were sitting across from her. "Shoto Todoroki and Katsumi Bakugo. What a pleasure it is, to have you join us."
Katsumi only tsked.
"There she goes again." Kaen sighed, looking at the interview from afar. "No doubt this interview is gonna go poorly."
"Well, it's bound to go right one of these days." Iida said, standing at his side. "But why aren't you being part of the interview? Did you help out?"
"I only handled the evacuation, didn't wanna steal the spotlight from those two right after they got licensed." Kaen chuckled. "Besides, I'm kinda glad the camera isn't on me for once."
"This is a historic event for our class. You should feel honored to do what you did in that crisis." Iida said.
"Don't get me wrong. I'm happy to provide support whenever I can, but I'm kinda tired of being on the big screen, and not in a good way." Kaen sighed. "I just wanna be able to go to the grocery store, without someone giving me the death glare."
"I see what you're saying." Iida said. "Cheer up, we leave for Nabu Island after the interview is done, so you'll be able to forget all about it on the journey there."
"Do you know which Support Course Team is coming with us?" Kaen asked, as they headed out the door.
"The teams didn't really have any official names, so they had to come up with one on the fly so they'd be put down on the paperwork properly." Iida said. "We're getting, Team Alchemist."
"Team Alchemist?" Kaen asked. "Who could they be?"
"Rumor has it, Team Alchemist is a team of five, because there was one person remaining after all the other students formed teams of four." Iida stated.
"Huh, well they were probably put with the best team Power Loader thought would compliment their abilities." Kaen said, before his head was forced to the side as he was hit with a brick.
"Filthy alien monkey. Go back to your own damn planet and leave ours be." A student shouted at him.
"Warning, violence on school premises towards another student, will not tolerated." Principal Nezu's voice came out of a humanoid robot that flew down on repulsor tech.
"Who the hell asked you?" The student asked, before he was stunned. "What the?"
"Remarkable, what is that?" Iida asked.
"New security droids." Kaen hissed rubbing the sore spot on his head. "Principal Nezu commissioned Athena and her group to make a whole legion of those things. They're based off Tony Starks Iron Legion from the Pre-Quirk Era."
"They sound just like Principal Nezu." Iida said.
"They were programmed to sound like that." Kaen said. "They're practically harmless, unless someone punches them, then they're just gonna break their hand trying to fight a droid."
"But doesn't their pacifism seem kind of counter intuitive? What if the school's attacked by the League again?" Iida asked.
"That's when the droids are switched to combat mode, and become lethal. Right now, they're just sentries protecting the peace on campus, and are only needed when violence arises outside of combat training. The school isn't gonna suddenly be run like some sort of dictator ship, so we can go about our days like normal." Kaen said. "Athena gave me the rundown of them, since she based their bodies off mine. Well, before I got these anyway." He stated, flapping his wings once.
"Astonishing." Iida said.
"I should probably go." Kaen said. "Both Mina' mom and mine, are gonna be watching Eri while we're gone at Nabu Island, so I've gotta make sure she's set to stay with them while we're gone."
"Cutting it kinda close, aren't you?" Iida asked.
"Not by choice. Eri's nervous about us leaving. It's giving her flashbacks about what happened to her some years ago." Kaen said.
"Right. Best to get going then, huh. I'll be sure to let Mr. Aizawa know where you are if we gather while you're not here." Iida said.
~Kaen's House~
"Alright, you have my number if anything goes wrong yeah?" Kaen asked.
"Relax sweetie, Eri and Kuro are gonna be fine here with me and Tsuki." Gine said. "You're going to Nabu Island to do some unsupervised hero work, I'd be more concerned about that if I were you."
"The Kaioh Emperor doesn't have anything to worry about." Tsuki smiled. "He'll be fine, don't worry."
"Papa…" Eri said, hugging his leg. "Please take me with you. I don't want you to go."
"I'm sorry sweetie, but I can't. You have to stay here with Grandma Gine and Granny Tsuki." Kaen said.
"But Papa…" Eri pleaded, her eyes big and watery.
"Nope, no do not use your kitten eyes on me." Kaen said as the phone rang. "I'm going to Nabu Island, where I'll be doing hero work."
"Come on Eri, we can make some cookies, doesn't that sound nice?" Tsuki asked.
"But I wanna go with Papa." Eri said.
"I'll be back before you know it Kitten." Kaen smiled, hugging her. "I love you, and I'll bring you back something from the island, sound good?"
"Kaen you need to get going." Gine said. "Your father just called, and said the students are already heading for the peer."
"Right. I'll see you later Kitten, love you. Be good for Granny and Grandma, okay?" Kaen asked.
"Bye Papa." Eri said sadly.
"Remember, I'll be back before you even know it." Kaen said, giving Eri one last hug, before heading out the door.
~Peer~
"I'm here, sorry I'm late." Kaen said, landing at the peer with his class. "Eri was refusing to let me go, so I had to calm her down."
"Iida explained what you were doing, no need to fret." Aizawa said. "Alright, this is where you'll be heading off, it'll be a six hour voyage so you'll have some time to think over your strategy for how you handle any issues that arise there. Your luggage will be taken aboard the ship, while you make your way to Nabu Island. Once you're there, you'll be performing duties as a hero, unsupervised, and unattended. Which again, anything that happens will be on you to do. So stay vigilant, and be on guard."
"Right." The entire class said.
"Just know, your Support Team has already been sent to the island a day ahead of you. So once you get there, you'll be greeted by the temporary agency, already occupied by your support team." Aizawa said. "So you'll be sharing the space for the duration of your stay there."
"Yessir."
"Now start boarding."
As they loaded up onto the ship, Kaen couldn't help but feel anxious that something was coming, and it wasn't good.
~Hidden Lab~
"Mind repeating that Doctor?" Shigaraki questioned.
"I'm needing your team to transport this truck and its cargo to a certain location." Dr. Ujiko said, standing next to a truck with Tucker and Nina.
"An' why should I have my team do it?" Shigaraki asked.
"Because we know you're in desperate need of money for food and supplies." Tucker said.
"Do this for us, and you will get a sum of money, that'll be more then adequate to buy enough food for your team, and the two Saiyans on it." Dr. Ujiko said.
Shigaraki looked at the two scientists, before he sighed frustrated, looking to the truck.
"What are we transporting?" Shigaraki asked.
"That's need to know information, and you don't need to know." Dr. Ujiko stated. "Are you gonna do the transport or not?"
"Perhaps he's not took keen on running the risk of running into heroes."
"I'll send Dabi, Spinner, and Compress to handle the transport. An' I expect the money up front before anything else happens." Shigaraki said, before turning away, and marching off. "Otherwise you're out a transport."
~Ship to Nabu Island~
"Hey babe, you doing okay?" Mina asked, coming to Kaen' side as he was leaning over the railing. "Not getting sea sick are ya?"
"Nah, I'm good." Kaen said, looking at the pendant around his neck.
"That's Pinach's soul, isn't it?" Mina asked, remembering what Kaen told her about what Whis did with Pinach during the Causality Loop.
"Yeah, I've been trying my best to communicate with him, but no dice. I don't think I'll be able to." Kaen said.
"Hey, it's no big deal. You're still the same with or without him." Mina said. "So what do you think we'll be doing on the island once we get there?"
"Probably not much. It's an island with small inhabitants, I doubt we're gonna be facing any actual threats." Kaen smiled. "We can actually see the island from here."
"You're right." Mina smiled, spotting the island, before noticing Kaen's expression fall. "What's wrong?"
"It's Cooler." Kaen said. "If he's stronger then Frieza, then the normal power level of a Super Saiyan isn't gonna cut it. If Frieza had taken on his final form, I'd have barely stood a chance at his full power."
"Frieza has more then one form?" Mina asked.
"Whis confirmed it." Kaen stated. "But since I learned that Cooler trains on the daily, I've been trying to obtain a level of power far stronger then a Super Saiyan. I need to reach the next level, in order to send him packing."
"What if sending him packing, isn't an option?" Mina asked.
"Then, if it comes down to it, Frieza's gonna have one less family member to contend with." Kaen stated. "The only good side to Cooler tracking me down, is Eri's safe and far away from Nabu Island."
"Uh babe…"
Kaen could feel his head throbbing in pain as Mina said that, before he turned around and saw, unsurprisingly, Eri running from one of the deckhands, and towards them, while riding on Kuro's back.
"MAMA PAPA." Eri called out to them, before she jumped from the white tiger and into Mina's arms.
"Stop you no good little stowaways." The deckhand called out, approaching them. "Don't let 'em jump overboard."
"Alright, just calm down." Kaen said, getting between the deckhand and his family. "Sir, let's talk over here. I believe I owe you an apology for what's happened here." He stated, directing the deckhand away from Mina, Eri, and Kuro.
"Eri what are you doing here?" Mina questioned, sitting Mina down on Kuro's back.
"I didn't want you or Papa to leave, so Kuro and I followed Papa to the docks, and we snuck aboard when Eraserhead was talking." Eri stated.
"Oh dear." Mina sighed. "Do you have any idea how worried Grandma Gine, and Granny Tsuki must be right now? You were supposed to stay with them while we were on Nabu Island."
"But I didn't want you to go." Eri said, hugging Mina. "I didn't want you or Papa to leave me."
"Oh sweetie." Mina sighed, hugging Eri back. "I'm so sorry, I didn't realize you might have abandonment issues from what happened to you with your first mother."
"Alright, well the coast guard won't be called, and Eri's free to remain with us. But we have to send her back the moment we dock." Kaen said, coming back to them. "What's going on here?"
"Eri, why don't you go mingle with the rest of our class while I talk with Papa?" Mina suggested.
"Okay Mama." Eri said, before Kuro turned away, and went to the class.
"What's happening Mina?" Kaen asked.
"We're terrible parents." Mina sighed.
"Why do you say that?"
"We take care of Eri, but we didn't account how she might be feeling, or dealing with her trauma." Mina said.
"What's this about?"
"Eri might be dealing with some abandonment issues she's yet to deal with, due to what Arachna did by leaving her with Chisaki." Mina said.
"An' by leaving her with our moms, she felt the same abandonment might happen again." Kaen realized. "But we can't take care of her, while doing hero work on Nabu Island at the same time Mina."
"I know that, so why don't we take turns in shifts?" Mina suggested. "Or depending on who's on the Support Team, they could watch her while we work, and then we spend some time with her during the evenings."
"That could work." Kaen said. "But she's our responsibility, added what we're responsible for on the island. Will it work?"
"We'll manage somehow babe." Mina said. "I know we will."
"I'll give my mom a call, and let her know where Eri is, and what's gonna happen." Kaen stated.
~Gine & Tsuki~
"An' you're sure you're gonna be able to do it?" Gine asked.
"I'm sure mom. We don't want Eri's issues getting worse, and I think this could be a good chance for her to experience the kind of life others lead on an Island like Nabu Island. It's mainly agriculture, and Eri seems like she gets long well with nature." Kaen said.
"Well if you're certain. I'm just happy she's safe, and not in any danger." Gine said. "Do you want me to send you her things via a drone?"
"We'll manage mom. Thanks though." Kaen said. "Gotta go, the ship's coming into shore."
"Alright, call me soon." Gine said, before hanging up.
"So I take it Eri's fine then?" Tsuki asked.
"She is. She and Kuro snuck aboard the ship taking Kaen and his class to Nabu Island, and was only recently found by one of the deckhands." Gine explained.
"Well, the important thing is she's safe, right?" Tsuki asked. "What could have prompted her to sneak away like that?"
"Kaen and Mina think she might have abandonment issues from her previous mother leaving her to be abused by Chisaki." Gine stated.
"Speaking of… did you see the news about him?" Tsuki asked. "When he was discharged from the villains hospital, someone sprung him free."
"But that was weeks ago." Gine said.
"Kaen and Mina aren't aware of it though." Tsuki stated.
"You're right. If they were aware of Chisaki's prison break, they wouldn't have tried leaving Eri with us during this mission." Gine groaned. "So… what do you suggest?"
"Well… my hero license is still valid." Tsuki said.
"You have a hero license?"
"A perk about being in the JSDF, you get a hero license after finishing basic training when joining, to allow proper Quirk use." Tsuki smiled. "You just have to renew it every year after leaving."
"Maybe I should enlist to be a field medic?" Gine suggested with her own smile.
"So what's say we go and investigate, who would have been able to break Overhaul out of Prison, and why." Tsuki smiled.
"I like where you're going with this." Gine smiled. "Let's make sure we do what we can, to keep our family safe."
"Let's put our plan into action."
"Yeah."
~Nabu Island~
"Well, looks like this is it." Kaen said as he and the others began departing from the ship. "Eri, you and Kuro be sure to stay behind me."
"Right Papa." Eri said, still sitting on Kuro's back as the tiger walked behind him.
"Welcome Class-A of the Hero Course, to Nabu Island." The mayor of the only town on the island said. "Thank you for coming."
"It's no problem at all." Kaen said. "I'm Kaen Yagi, Class Rep. Anything you need to discuss with the class will go through me first, that okay?"
"Of course, of course." The Mayor smiled, before looking down. "Oh, who's this?"
"Eep." Eri panicked, hiding behind Kaen again.
"My apologies, I tried leaving Eri with my mom, but she snuck aboard the ship." Kaen said, stepping to the side to reveal Eri. "This is my daughter Eri. She'll be staying with us since she doesn't wanna leave my side."
"A first year Hero Course student who's a father already?" The Mayor asked.
"Watch this, and you'll understand." Mina said, holding out a disk to him. "It's a video recording of a couple news broadcasts that should clear things up."
"Of course." The Mayor said. "Once again, Nabu Island greatly appreciates your support in coming out here to help us until a permanent successor arrives. Team Alchemist has already done the necessary changes to the building that will serve as your agency."
"Thank you. We appreciate the hospitality." Kaen smiled.
~Class-A Hero Agency~
"Uh…" Kaen was confused beyond words about what to say, when he saw Team Alchemist, or the building their temporary agency will be working out of.
"Hey Bro, figured your class would be sent here to Nabu Island." Athena smiled, wiping some oil off her hands, while everyone else went into the agency building.
"I honestly should have seen this coming." Kaen said, noticing their fifth member. "Winry?"
"Yep, that's me." Winry smiled. "Who were you expecting?"
"Definitely not my sisters team, that's for sure." Kaen said.
"Don't be like that." Ruby smiled. "Hey, you gotta check out the upgrades we made to the building, and it all practically cost next to nothing thanks to our Duplication Voids. I managed to install a hot-tub and in-ground pool in the back. Chlorine free for our more froggy based heroes."
"That's so thoughtful." Tsu smiled.
"The real miracle is how we were able to fix this place up over night without tiring ourselves out to the bone. It's all thanks to Winry's Quirk." Jenny said.
"It wasn't anything special." Winry said. "It was just some alchemic interfacing."
"That's Winry talk for, it took her thirty seconds to reconstruct an entire building, with a mountain of materials and her Alchemy." Mei said.
"Alchemy? Like Tucker?" Kaen asked.
"Sort of." Winry said. "His Alchemy Quirk is more bioengineering based, meaning he can only use it on organic material like flesh, and bone, and needs to know every single detail about the material he's using, just to break it down. While all I need to do, in order to use my Mechanical Alchemy, is to clearly visualize what I want to build, in my head. To activate it, I just gotta clap my hands together in a prayer form, and put one or both hands on the material I'm using. It still follow the laws of equivalent exchange, and the basic principals of understanding, deconstructing, and reconstructing. I just gotta understand what I wanna build, and then I use my Alchemy to do it."
"Chimera Alchemy and Mechanical Alchemy, both scary in their own unique ways." Kaen said.
"That's kinda cool." Mina smiled.
"Heads up." Kaen said. "Eri snuck on board the ship that brought us here, so she's staying until we have to ship off."
"Didn't wanna leave your sides huh?" Athena asked.
"She might have some abandonment issues to work through. For now, we just gotta keep her safe, and out of trouble." Kaen stated.
"I'm pretty sure we can handle something like that." Ruby smiled. "Just leave it to Team Alchemist."
~Mainland Japan That Night~
All wasn't quiet in the mountains, as four vehicles were chasing after the truck that had left the League of Villains hidden lab. The red car leading the chase managed to get between the truck and the stone wall allowing for the driver, Rock Lock, to peer into the window from the side.
"That's Shuichi Iguchi."
"So it is the League of Villains." The gun themed hero in the passengers side said, sticking his arm out the window, and aiming it at the truck.
Before the hero could start firing, Spinner rammed the truck into the car, forcing it against the wall, before Rock Lock was forced to back up, while loosing the passenger side door. As the other cars sped up, Spinner rammed the truck into the blue car, and sent it over the edge, before it exploded on impact.
"Damn it." The gun hero said, firing at the truck. "No luck. It's made of some pretty heavy bullet proof armor."
"Then let's get closer." Rock Lock exclaimed before he sped up with the orange and silver cars following suit. As they rounded the corner, the gun hero shattered the windshield with his rounds of ammo.
The shattered glass from the windshield forced Rock Lock to swerve as he reflexively tried to shield himself from them, before straightening out his trajectory again. As the rapid fire continued, the window shattered open, and Dabi stuck most of his upper half out the vanished window, before letting off a surge of blue flames heading straight for the heroes.
Acting fast, Rock Lock backed up, and swerving as he back, the car began to flip over, knowing that without a windshield, they'd be toast.
"Deadbolt!" He stated, before the car landed on its side, and remained immovable. Once the blue flames washed over them and dissipated, the Lock Hero pulled himself and his partner out of the ruined vehicle, with the orange and silver cars driving along the wall. "Sorry we're out."
The silver car continued to drive along the wall, before it flew over the front of the truck, and landed, while only giving visible minor damage to its front bumper, before a woman with long braided golden hair, and a black lightning bolt in her bangs, with a single stripe going down the braid, popped out of the sunroof.
"Take this." She called out, sending a charge of lightning at the truck.
The electrical attack didn't seem to do much as Spinner sped up the truck, and rammed the silver car, knocking the woman out of it, and to the road, before knocking the car itself over the edge.
All that remained was the orange car, as it was adamant on not letting the truck out of its sights.
"Upsidaisy." Compress said, pushing up on the hatch on the roof of the truck. "So very persistent." He stated, before throwing three marbles to the road.
In a flash, the marbles turned into steel road blocks, causing the orange car to skid and flip, before it exploded upon impact with the ground. One of the heroes in the car managed to jump and grabbed onto the truck, before pulling himself up, with a light glowing from his left robotic eye.
"What are you up to, you bastards?" He questioned.
"You expect us to answer that?" Dabi questioned, popping up from the side of the truck, before incinerating the hero in a wash of blue flames.
"How did the heroes know our route?" Spinner questioned.
"Someone must have talked." Dabi said.
"A leak? Who is it?" Compress questioned.
"How should I know?" Dabi asked.
Further up ahead on the road, there was a blockade of heroes and police, with Endeavor leading the charge, as several of his sidekicks stood at the ready behind him.
"The pursuit team lost them." Rock Lock said over the radio. "Looks like you're up."
"I figured as much." Endeavor said. "Leave 'em to me."
In the truck, Spinners eyes widened in shock at the view that came into his line of sight.
"E-Endeavor?" Spinner gasped.
"The lead actor in this heroic farce." Compress stated.
"Working so late at night… I hope you're getting overtime." Dabi said, blue flames ignited in his hand, before he sent them at the hero.
"Jet Burn!" Endeavor cried out, sending his own attack at the villains.
As the two attacks collided, Endeavor' attack proved stronger as it swallowed the blue flames, and vanished in an explosion of pressure.
"Better get out of the way. I don't mind running you over." Spinner stated, driving even faster.
Endeavor crossed his arms over his chest, as he prepared another attack to send at the villains.
"Now would be a good time to duck." Dabi said, as he lit his flames in his hands, and Compress went back into the cab of the truck.
The air began to heat up, as the power from the two flame based villains, began to climb higher and higher, with the both of them wanting to do a significant amount of damage to the other.
"Prominence…" He began to call out as Dabi sent his attack towards the heroes. "Burn!"
Endeavor' attack completely overshadowed Dabi', as the roads and the truck were enveloped in his hellfire. The heat became too intense as the truck was forced over the edge, and began sliding on its side along the road.
"Damn, times up." Spinner said, before turning to a pile of mud.
"Endeavor." Dabi said, before he and Compress were turned into mud.
Endeavor continued on with the pressure of his attack, before he was force to jump as the truck came barreling towards him, breaking through the barricade and fell over the edge of the sharp turn, tumbling to the river bellow.
Following the truck, Endeavor made his way through the forest, noticing how the water had quickly doused his flames, making it impossible for the hero to track the vehicle by the light of his fire. When he landed, he spotted a familiar red winged hero examining the truck.
"What are you doing Hawks?" Endeavor questioned. "If you were here, you could have given us a hand."
"Aw, don't bite my head off Endeavor." Hawks said, scratching his head as he turned to the pyro hero. "I just now flew in."
"Where is the League?" Endeavor questioned, examining the truck himself.
"They were doubles, courtesy of Twice." Hawks said, pointing to the puddles of mud in the cab of the truck. Following Endeavor to the back of the truck, the duo of heroes opened it up, to reveal two healing pods hooked up to a major power source.
"What are these things?" Endeavor questioned.
"I think it's a life support system." Hawks stated. "High tech. To haul around a couple of new Nomu models maybe?"
"A Nomu?" Endeavor questioned.
"They were transporting something in here." Hawks said. "The question is, what?"
~Elsewhere~
"Sure took your time meeting back up with us Nine, Fasha." Chimera said, lighting a fresh cigar, as Nine and Fasha landed on the ground, after the Saiyan Woman flew them both to their teams location.
"It was worth the wait." Fasha stated. "The experiments were a success. Nine and I are more powerful then ever." She said proudly, causing the others of their group to smile, before Nines eyes lit up with power.
"With this, our plan can move forward." Chimera said.
"However, the side effects have gotten worse." Nine said. "Using my Quirks too much, results in the destruction of my body's cellular tissue."
"That means…" Slice began.
"There was no point in you becoming a lab rat." Chimera said angrily.
"All he needs to do, is steal a cell activation Quirk." Fasha said. "If he manages to get the Quirk that works on his blood type, then that makes Nine unstoppable."
"An' thus making me, the rightful ruler of the new world, we will shape." Nine stated, sounding confident, like he's already won. "We can create the world, we desire."
