A/N: I'm sorry it's taken me a while to get this one posted. We had a trip to see kids/grandkids that was a sweet distraction since I last posted. I'm here to report that there is life outside of fanfiction, believe it or not. So it's taken longer to hone this chapter to have it ready. Hope you feel the wait was worth it.

Chapter 36: Easter, Bridal Shower and B&B Parties

Toward the end of March, wedding attendance regrets had been received from Lily and from Andrea and Luke. However, despite the regrets, Lily promised to see if she could manage to come out sometime in June and asked them to let her know when might be best so she could ask off work.

With Luke's regrets for him and his mom, he first thanked Amy for her letter, expressed how sad he was to learn about Ty, and how much he appreciated all that they had given him at such an uncertain and scary time in his life. He knew it had been a sacrifice for them, and he was so grateful they'd been so generous to him and supportive of him and his mom. He let her know that his mom was doing really well and so was he. He congratulated Amy and then asked if it might be possible for them to visit sometime during the summer. He said he'd really like to see everyone again, especially her, Lyndy and Jack, and he looked forward to getting to know Mitch. His letter reminded Amy that she needed to locate the gift he'd had Jack help him make for them before he left. It was hard for Amy to believe he was an older teen now.

Of course, Amy responded to all of them that they'd love for them to come for a visit, and they'd keep in touch to work out the best times for all.

With all the help Mitch had, the barn remodel and additions at the ranch were completed before the end of March resulting in a huge load off Mitch's mind. He and Amy had finished creating their new logos, had them made into signs, and hung them in their proper places. With each sign going up, they stepped back to enjoy the excitement and anticipation that both represented for their future together. The morning of April 1st, they invited everyone over to show them off. Whispering Meadows* now greeted each ranch guest as they drove in, and Serenity Stables** was proudly displayed on the barn and ready to receive clients, though Amy would keep a lighter schedule until after the honeymoon. It was a wonderful surprise for the family, and they all loved the names! Everyone was given a thorough tour of the new renovations. The whole crew was particularly proud of the job they had completed, and everyone was thrilled for Amy to have such a wonderful place for her business! They were especially glad to know about the planned enclosing of the arena come summer. They knew what a great asset this would be to Amy's business in the future.

Afterward, all were invited inside for coffee and cinnamon rolls that Ginny prepared ahead of time so all she needed to do was warm them up. Even before walking in the house, the aroma of freshly brewed coffee mixed with the wafting smell of warm cinnamon rolls was a sensory feast! Guests lingered not wanting to leave, but the day's work lay ahead, as well as travel for Doc and Ginny. Hugs were given and goodbyes were said, especially to Mitch's parents with lingering hugs from Amy and Lyndy. Then the Heartland crew headed back for the rest of their day's activities.

Before leaving, Doc let Mitch know that they planned to attend the sunrise Easter service when they returned and that they'd love to have him, Amy and Lyndy attend with them. But whether they did or not, Ginny would love to have Amy and Lyndy over for Easter brunch as she had something special she wanted to do for them. Ginny also asked him to invite all the family over for Easter dinner. Mitch promised to ask. Then after tarrying hugs with their dearly loved son, Doc and Ginny headed home with a little less than a week to take care of things that needed to be done before they would return the following weekend to celebrate a joyful week of wedding activities.

With the wedding being only two weeks away and realizing that it might be their last official date night before the wedding, Mitch and Amy made sure to take advantage of the evening together before things got really crazy. They wanted to make it special, yet they wisely chose to be out among people for it was getting harder and harder to say goodbye. Mitch suggested they go out to eat in Black Diamond, keeping close to home yet without the routine feel of Hudson.

As it turned out, Mitch had an extremely busy day at the ranch trying to catch up on several things that had been put on hold during the build. When he saw he needed to work right up until time to get ready and would be cutting the time close, he called Amy to ask if she could come to him. She was happy to oblige, however, she saw an opportunity and decided to take advantage of it. She rode over on Spartan knowing it would allow him to have an introduction to what would soon be his new home with Maverick and Sapphire. She and Mitch would work out getting him back to Heartland the next day. When Amy arrived, she untacked, stabled and settled Spartan, then quickly looked herself over in the mirror in her new office, smoothed her hair and headed to the house. When Mitch answered the door and saw her, as always, his heart skipped a beat, but her hair looked especially beautiful tonight, and he couldn't resist – gently sliding his fingers underneath her hair at the nape of her neck, he drew her close to kiss her hello. The scent of her freshly clean hair filled his senses. At the feel of his fingers moving gently, lovingly through her hair, Amy's breath caught, and she melted, mesmerized by his touch. They'd only last seen each other that morning but being apart anytime now was too long! They were interrupted when Charlie happened to knock on the door to ask Mitch a question. When he saw Amy there, he mentioned how spiffed up they looked, and he offered to snap a photo for them in front of the fireplace.*** They happily accepted the offer before heading out.

They decided to go to the Soft Rock Bistro and had house salads to start with followed by Tourtière pie and Poutine, two items for which the restaurant was known. After Mitch's heavy workday, the food really hit the spot. Mitch let Amy know about his mom's request. She said she wasn't sure about the sunrise service, but she was sure she and Lyndy could make brunch. She expressed how generous it was of Ginny to invite the family for Easter dinner. They both felt blessed by the month they'd been able to have with Doc and Ginny around. Amy had fallen even more in love with Mitch's parents, and she knew they were going to have a great relationship, hopefully for many years to come. They reflected on how many 'parents' had touched their lives – Grandma Lyndy from stories, Marion, Jack and now Lisa, Tim and now Jessica, Doc and Ginny, and even Lily, though Mitch had yet to meet her – their lives really were rich. Mitch also hoped there'd be a time that Amy could spend some time with Zach's parents, since they'd been a big part of his life growing up. She'd get to meet them at the wedding, but there wouldn't be much time then. That reminded Amy to let Mitch know that Claire, Zach's widow, had RSVP'd that she could make it. Mitch wanted her to be able to sit with his parents, so they decided to ask Logan to escort her down the aisle. Amy was looking forward to meeting her, and she hoped there would be a future chance outside the limited time of the wedding to get to know her better. It was good just to have some down time to chat and catch up with each other.

As Mitch drove Amy home, they enjoyed a now familiar, comfortable silence just being in each other's presence. Upon pulling into Heartland, she asked him to please check on Spartan when he got back and to call her if there were any problems. He assured her he would. Mitch took care to keep their goodnight kiss shorter than their hello had been, yet he still tenderly expressed with deep affection the love he had for the woman he held in his arms – his perfect match. Amy reluctantly turned to head into the house as Mitch pulled away from the driveway. About twenty minutes later, she got a call that Spartan was doing fine, and he seemed quite content with his new buddies. Amy was most pleased to get the news as she responded, "Goodnight, my love, my handsome cowboy."

And Mitch answered back, "It will be, my angel, as I'll be dreaming of you. Saturday after next can't come soon enough!" and Amy completely shared his sentiment.

The next day, Mitch came over for Sunday lunch, then took Amy back to get Spartan. He and Sapphire escorted them back to Heartland on a leisurely ride before returning to Whispering Meadows. It felt good to get out and ride again after the previously busy month they'd had. It was something they loved doing together.

The ladies planned Amy's shower for the weekend before the wedding so that Georgie could attend. She and Quinn managed to get a couple of weeks off to be there for all the festivities. With so many people around, Quinn was staying with Mitch along with Mitch's parents who had returned on Friday. Shane was to arrive Sunday afternoon and would stay at Mitch's as well. Mitch was glad for the opportunity to have more time to get better acquainted with Shane and to get to spend time with Quinn again.

The shower was held at Heartland on Saturday and was attended by everyone Amy could want – Lyndy, Lou, Georgie, Katie, Lisa, Ginny, Jessica, Soraya, Mallory, Cass, Jade and Parker. Games were played, much to Amy's chagrin, but everyone had fun! Though she really didn't need a lot, she got some lovely things to make her feel special and several kitchen items that Lisa had let the others know that Mitch didn't have. For the unmentionables, since there were young eyes present, those gifts waited until each could be handed to Amy more privately. When Amy got to open them, Lisa had given her a lovely, white sheer peignoir set for their wedding night, and Cass and Mallory had given her a black negligee for their honeymoon. There were several others, all of which she knew would make her feel most amorous, and she was pretty sure Mitch was going to love them all! Inwardly, though she'd yet to completely admit it to herself, she was feeling a bit nervous about that.

With so much going on, Amy and Lyndy had declined attending the sunrise service, but they were looking forward to the brunch Ginny had invited them to. Quinn left early Sunday morning to go see Georgie, and Mitch got up to go to the service with his parents. They picked up Amy and Lyndy on the way home. Ginny had prepared much of the food ahead of time on Friday and Saturday. But there was the one special thing she particularly wanted to have Lyndy help her with. While the food was heating, Ginny cleaned the counter extra well and laid out what would be needed – two cans of refrigerated crescent rolls; sixteen marshmallows; melted butter in a small bowl; cinnamon, nutmeg, and sugar mixed together in a bowl; muffin tins, cupcake liners and a piece of parchment paper for each person to work on.

When Lyndy saw the marshmallows, she smiled big at Mitch and said, "Look, Mitch, marshmallows!" And they both laughed as Mitch said, "Yes, and Ginny will tell you what they are for!"

Ginny first asked, "Amy and Lyndy, do you know what Easter is about?'

Amy replied, "Well, when Mitch asked us about coming today, he told us briefly the story of Jesus dying on the cross and being buried in a tomb…"

And before Amy could finish, Lyndy joined in excitedly saying, "And then he came back to life!"

Ginny smiled and said, "That's right Lyndy! He rose from the dead, and we call that the Resurrection. But do you know why Jesus died for us?"

Lyndy shook her head no.

Then Doc asked her, "Lyndy, can you think of someone who loves you and wants you to be a part of their family?"

Lyndy smiled at Doc and answered, "You and Ginny and Mitch?" At Lyndy's answer, all the adults grinned at each other.

Doc replied, "That is for sure, Lyndy! We are really excited for us all to be family. Well, it's like that with God. Because God loves us, He wants us all to be a part of His family. But because God is all good, He cannot be with bad. There comes a point in all our lives when we choose to do wrong things, and then we are separated from God, our Creator. So we need someone to save us, someone who lived a life where he only did what was right and good. That was Jesus, our Savior. And because He loved us, He died and overcame death by rising from the dead, making a way for us to be in God's family. When we put our trust in Him, we can become part of God's family, and we can live with God always, even after we die."

Then Ginny said, "We are going to make Resurrection Rolls,**** and each of these ingredients remind us of something about the Resurrection. So first, everyone take a triangle of the crescent rolls and lay it on your parchment paper. The dough represents the cloth that Jesus' body was wrapped in after he died. Then take a marshmallow, representing Jesus' body, and dip it in the butter coating it. The butter represents the oils they used to prepare his body to be buried. Then roll the marshmallow in the cinnamon-nutmeg-sugar mixture that represents the spices they used along with the oils."

Ginny continued to demonstrate as everyone followed her lead, "Next, we tightly wrap Jesus' 'body' in the cloth, pinching it tight leaving no holes. And Mitch, will you please place a cupcake liner in each tin space?" And Mitch dutifully followed his mom's instructions.

"Now, place the 'tomb' you have just created into one of the tins. Lyndy, do you know what a tomb is?"

Lyndy shook her head no. "Well, in Jesus' day, when people died, they often placed their body inside something similar to a cave and rolled a stone in front of the entrance to cover it like a door. So now we'll keep making these until all the dough and marshmallows are used up."

And everyone continued working until all the 'tombs' were in their tins; then Ginny brushed the tops of them with the remaining butter and sprinkled a little of the spices mix over the tops.

"Ok, now we will set these aside and get our food on the table, then I'll pop these in to bake while we eat, and they can be our dessert," Ginny said.

And Mitch added with a wink, "And you'll find a surprise inside!" Amy thought she might have figured it out, but Lyndy was excited because she liked surprises!

As they gathered around the table, they held hands as Doc led them in a prayer of thanksgiving for God's love, Jesus' sacrifice and victory over death, for the uniting of their families, and for the provision of the food they were about to eat. They had a lovely brunch together of Cauliflower Cake with bacon along with a colorful fruit salad Ginny had prepared. When everyone was almost finished, Lyndy heard the timer go off and excitedly proclaimed, "They're ready!"

Ginny got up to bring the Resurrection Rolls to the table, and she served one to each person. Then she said, "Now, everyone break yours open and see what's inside."

Lyndy did as she was told, and then exclaimed, "It's empty!" since the marshmallow had melted leaving the empty shell of the roll.

"That's right, Lyndy, there's nothing inside. It represents the tomb being empty when Jesus rose from the dead on the third day after He died on the cross. Him rising from the dead is what our faith is based upon."

As Ginny picked up her roll, she said, "Now, everyone can taste their rolls, and there should be enough for everyone to have more than one."

As they all bit into their roll, there were groans of pleasure as the scrumptious flavors hit everyone's taste buds, and Lyndy said, "Mmmm, this is deee-licious! Thank you, Ginny, for telling me this story in such a special way."

And Amy agreed, "Yes, thank you, Doc and Ginny."

Doc and Lyndy pitched in to help Ginny clean up from brunch while Mitch and Amy joined Zeke and Charlie to quickly knock out chores. Mitch and Amy came in to wash up and discovered Doc napping in the recliner. Ginny was reading a story to Lyndy. Since all were happily occupied, Mitch and Amy decided to go for a walk. They welcomed anytime they could grab alone together these days. The first thing on Amy's mind was from the activity that Ginny had shared with them.

"Mitch, I really want to know and understand more about the things that Doc and Ginny have introduced me to. I know our schedules are jam-packed right now, but do you think we could begin reading your Bible together when we are on our honeymoon?"

Mitch responded, "Of course we can, Amy. I'd really like that. After the things that we talked about with Robert, I've been thinking quite a bit about being all that God wants me to be for our family. I know He's never left me, but I've drifted from Him in the years since I was in the military. I've been working through the doubts I've had even more lately, but I'd really like to continue doing that with you beside me as I do. Our relationship amazes me every day, Amy, but I know that if we can look to God as the one who guides us, who we go to with our questions, we will only be better together than we already are. I've seen that in my parents' marriage. And I especially feel a responsibility for Lyndy and being our very best for her."

Amy was growing more every day in appreciating the strong leader that Mitch was. She had deep respect for him and felt so loved and protected by him, and she knew that love and protection also included Lyndy.

"And speaking of honeymoon, I know lately you've been having to do most of the planning of the details we still had on our list with me being so involved in the renovations. Is there anything more we need do?"

Amy replied, "Well, it hasn't been too bad since I've had Lisa and Lou to help, but let me think…I'll finish packing my things this week for you to move over, I'll get the majority of Lyndy's things packed so there will be very little to do for her when we get back, tickets are taken care of, we both have our passports, transportation to the airport is arranged, and reservations are made. The honeymoon package includes several excursions…but not too many," she said teasingly with a wink, yet a faint wrinkle in her forehead was detected by Mitch, and he sensed a sudden shyness hiding beneath her words, one that even surprised Amy, herself.

Mitch was puzzled, so he stopped them and turned to face her as he asked, "Sweetheart, what are you feeling?"

Her eyes were downcast as she sought the words to express the fear she'd suddenly felt wash over her, "Mitch, it's been a long time since Ty and I were together. I've also had a baby…and you and Lou…I just don't want to disappoint you."

Mitch drew her into his arms as he thought about how to respond to her fears. He knew her fears were just that…there was no truth to them, except for the doubt that his past with Lou had put there. As he formulated his answer, he slowly drew back and tilted her chin to look up at him, "Amy, I have regrets about my past, but you and I have made a pledge to each other, and ours is a new experience for both of us. I think we need to think of it as an exciting fresh start for us both, because it will be our first time. Darling, when we kiss and hold each other, I long to have a way to express more of my love to you, to know you in deeper ways. That intimacy will always be only ours, set apart for only you and me, and I have no doubts…you could never disappoint me!"

Mitch ever so tenderly brushed her cheek as he cupped it with one hand and drew her close with the other, meeting her lips with gentle respect and the deepest love he'd ever felt for anyone. Amy felt his loving promise conveyed in the adoring caress with just the right amount of restraint in his kiss. Her doubts were beckoned to flee from her mind by the significance of his words and touch, urging her to embrace the trust that had been in her heart from the first day and that now flourished in the raw honesty of his love.

Mitch felt Amy's breath warm across his neck as she whispered softly into his ear, "Thank you, Mitch! I love you with all my heart!"

When they released from their embrace, both feeling secure in each other, they turned to walk hand-in-hand back to the house.

Upon returning from their walk, they found that Ginny and Lyndy had already started preparing the food for the early family dinner. With Lyndy's help, they had beautifully set the table. She was learning many new things from her times spent with Ginny, and Ginny was loving the opportunity to teach and slightly spoil a little girl, especially this little girl who had stolen her heart. Doc had begun to stir from his nap, and they all began to pitch in and help with last minute preparations.

Meanwhile, at Heartland, Shane had arrived to enthusiastic greetings and hugs from everyone, and all were beginning to get ready to head to Whispering Meadows. They let him know that he'd be staying with Mitch, so there was no need to bring his things in.

Upon the family's arrival at Whispering Meadows, Amy warmly greeted Shane and introduced him to Mitch. Shane and Georgie expressed how much they loved the new ranch name and Serenity Stables. Quinn helped Shane bring his things in and showed him to his room. Throughout the rest of the day, Shane and Mitch really hit it off with each other, though Amy had no doubt that they would.

As everyone had walked in the house, they all commented on how good it smelled! Lisa had prepared a special treat for all – Easter Egg Chocolate Covered Strawberries. They were dipped in white chocolate and decorated like Easter eggs with pastel icing and sprinkles. Lyndy was especially delighted to see them!

Doc and Ginny suggested that to mark the special occasion and while everyone was a little more dressed up, they should make sure to get a family picture***** in front of the fireplace. Zeke and Charlie had been invited to join them for the meal, so Zeke volunteered to take the picture for them. It took a little while to get everyone arranged, but they knew the trouble they went to would be appreciated for years to come.

Ginny had Goat Cheese & Asparagus Crostini set out for appetizers while the last-minute preparations of the food were completed. The ladies all helped to get it on the table. There was a feast of Herb-Crusted Leg of Lamb with Potatoes, Saffron Glazed Carrots, Russian Salad, Homemade Cranberry Sauce and Spinach Salad with Preserved Sour Cherries. For dessert, Ginny had beautifully created two festive Carrot Cup Bouquets, another delight for Lyndy! And for those who may have preferred something a little more tart, she had Apple Roses in Puff Pastry with Apricot Jam. And as a special treat, she had Hot Cross Buns for everyone to take home with them. Needless to say, Ginny's cooking skills were once again raved over, and everyone felt well-fed afterward!

Once clean-up was completed, most relaxed for a while, giving their food time to settle; then Mitch's guitar came out, along with a harmonica for Doc. Jack brought his guitar along in anticipation, and Ginny took to Mitch's keyboard for a fun time singing together. It appeared that this might become a much enjoyed, regular occurrence at future family gatherings.

At one point during the late afternoon, Quinn had excused himself to go to the restroom. Georgie followed a few minutes later, but on the way, she noticed the shadow box hanging in the hallway. As yet, no one had told her about it, and when she realized its contents, she was overcome with emotion. Quinn was just exiting the restroom and found her in tears. He came up and wrapped his arms around her suddenly realizing what had brought on the flood of emotion. Though Quinn had never really had much opportunity to get to know Ty, Georgie had shared several of her memories of Ty with him. Among those were Ty having been the one to find her when she very first showed up at Heartland, how she'd pulled a pitchfork on him, and how upset he'd been when he couldn't find Amy's engagement ring that she'd stolen thinking it could help her get to her brother, Jeff.****** With Georgie's connection to both Ty and Mitch, it was especially meaningful to her how much this unique and beautiful gift must mean to Amy and Lyndy. Before leaving that day, she let Mitch know just how touched she had been, and they shared a most heartfelt hug together.

Evening came, and goodbyes began. Everyone thanked Ginny for the wonderful meal******* and hospitality. Amy and Lyndy returned with the family to Heartland as Quinn and Shane stayed back to take up 'residence' for the week at Whispering Meadows. They were more than happy to pitch in and help with chores whenever their schedules with the family allowed it.

The week before the wedding held many feelings for the whole family, but especially for Amy while tying everything up at Heartland to bid it farewell. Three of those days included Amy getting to watch Georgie train again. That brought back a myriad of memories. She also began packing up all her things, and she did come across Luke's special gift to their little family. An idea for what to do with it came to her, but it was one she would wait to implement til after she and Mitch returned from their honeymoon. One morning, she got up extra early just to go out to the barn and say goodbye to the tons of memories that existed there for her and Ty, and then she walked to the pond to remember the ones there. It was going to be an adjustment leaving Heartland, but she had been preparing herself for it day by day. She even talked a bit with Georgie about it since she'd already experienced leaving. She knew it was best for her new marriage to put distance between her and the memories that still sometimes jumped out at her unexpectedly. At times when that would happen, it helped her to reflect back on the many times over the last year that Mitch had been so sensitive to her needs in her grief. She'd also tried to be especially upbeat in preparing Lyndy for their change as she knew it would be different for her as well. For Amy, it was a week of mixed emotions, but again Heartland would only be down the road.

Plans had finalized as proposed for Lyndy's care and getting her things moved over during the honeymoon. Mitch had finally stolen a few moments to take a look at all that Lisa and Lyndy had done to her room. He could see why Lyndy had been so excited. They had transformed it into a little girl's paradise! Somehow, Mitch had managed to distract Amy from looking at it the few times there would have been opportunity for he wanted Lyndy to get to be the one to show it to her.

Thursday came, and it was time for the Bachelor and Bachelorette Parties. Ginny decided to forego the party to stay at home with Lyndy. She was trying to squeeze in as much time as possible, and Lyndy loved spending time with Gram Ginny!

The girls all headed to the Dude Ranch for an evening of champagne, wine, sodas, charcuterie boards, popcorn, hot chocolate, doing nails (and yes, Amy actually did her's this time), and planning wedding hair styles. It was the same group of ladies that attended the shower, minus Ginny and Lyndy. They did play one 'game' with a ball of yarn where everyone sat in a circle, and one person would throw it to another and share something they especially appreciated about the receiver. As they finished, there was a web of friendship created in the middle. Lots of stories were shared from weddings, growing up, and life experiences, and everyone felt they learned new tidbits about each other even more than before. The next morning, they all gathered up and headed back to Heartland to fix a hearty breakfast of bacon, eggs, hashbrowns, pancakes and a choice of maple, blueberry or raspberry syrup and/or whipped crème with strawberries, and of course, coffee and orange juice! Ginny had stayed over with Lyndy the night before, so they were able to join in, too!

The guys had a great time at their "baseball" game and cook-out. The two teams were headed up by Mitch and Peter. Mitch got to choose first, so naturally, he picked Sam, but he also evened it out by choosing Caleb. HOWEVER, the three planners – Jack, Tim and Peter – hadn't thought ahead enough to realize that baseball was going to be hard to manage with only five and a half players per team, so they settled for a couple of games of flag football instead. After all, they didn't want anyone to be maimed before the wedding. Mitch's team won the first game, but just barely, with him, Sam, Jack, Doc, Logan and Caleb against Peter, Tim, Shane, Jake and Quinn. By the second game, Peter's team outlasted a winded Jack and Doc and won by one point. A great time was had by all, and everyone enjoyed grilling and eating steak, baked potatoes and grilled vegetables along with beer, and soda for Logan, while shooting the breeze. And of course, there was chocolate cake for dessert made for them by Lisa. They all agreed it had been a successful party despite the game gaff.

Before they left that night, Jack pulled Mitch aside and handed him a gift. Mitch unwrapped it and opened up a box holding a beautiful bone-handled pocketknife engraved with one word, "Son."******* When Mitch saw it, he felt lost for words and his eyes welled with tears. He looked at Jack who was also holding back tears, and they drew each other once again into a father/son embrace. Mitch loved his dad dearly, but there had always been something extra special about his and Jack's relationship, and this gift just reinforced that they both knew it. In Jack's mind, he'd been able to express that feeling to Ty on several occasions, yet even though he'd mentioned it when Mitch asked for his blessing, he wanted to be sure he wasted no time and left no doubt in Mitch's mind how he felt.

With Friday came the rehearsal. Jeff, Georgie's brother, had arrived Friday morning to get to spend some time with her over the weekend. Mid- morning, Mitch and Amy lined off an area on the front lawn to simulate how things would be so they could describe the set up to everyone. Mid-afternoon, Robert Hise arrived with his wife, Jennean, and they were given accommodations at the Dude Ranch.

When the time came, Georgie stood in as the bride while Jade stood in for Georgie, and Amy and Robert directed everyone. It only took about twenty minutes to walk everyone through what was to happen, though Mitch and Amy cautioned that it would be longer tomorrow with the music added in. Everyone felt prepared for their part the next day, and all were looking forward to seeing what had been described as a beautiful venue.

Lou had arranged for Marnie to cater a nice meal for after the rehearsal. In attendance were Mitch, Amy and Lyndy, Doc and Ginny, Jack and Lisa, Tim and Jessica, Lou and Peter, Georgie and Quinn, Katie, Shane, Jeff, Jake and Mallory, Caleb, Cass and Carson, Soraya, Logan, Sam, Scott, Marnie, Robert and Jennean, Clint, Zeke, and Charlie. Great conversation and laughter were had by all. And though toasts would be shared at the reception tomorrow, stories and special tributes to Mitch and Amy were shared by family and close friends on this night. Jack enjoyed sharing his "discovery" of them the day he rode up over the ridge in this more intimate setting. After all was said and done, Mitch and Amy were most encouraged with so much support. As it had been a full week for all, they decided to make an early night of it to get a good night's sleep before the big day.

Amy and Mitch took a short walk to share their last night together as singles. As they got back to Mitch's truck, Mitch enveloped Amy in a passionate hug and kiss, holding back just enough while it said to her, 'Just a preview of what awaits us in less than 24 hours!' She was breathless as she whispered, "I love you, Mitch Cutty!" And he was just as breathless as he gently cupped her face and said, "I'll see you in the morning at the end of the aisle, my soon-to-be wife! I can't wait!" And he turned to step up into the truck. As Amy shut the door, he rolled down the window for one more kiss before starting the engine to leave, and Amy 'walked on air' back into the house for one last night at Heartland.

Tourtière is a French-Canadian meat pie with spices and a double crust. Poutine is a Canadian dish made of french fries topped with cheese curds and gravy. It first appeared in 1950s rural Québec snack bars and was widely popularized across Canada and beyond in the 1990s.
