Harvey is already in bed, sitting on the mattress, his back resting on the backrest. The blankets cover him up to his waist. He's reading an article on his smartphone.
Donna comes out of the bathroom, she was doing her skincare routine, and now she's taking the bun out of her hair in front of Harvey. They know she could do it in the bathroom too, but Harvey loves to see her hair fall like a cascade of fire and Donna knows Harvey can't help but look, that he enjoys it. And why not let him enjoy something so simple?
She takes off a sweater and joins the bed with him. She sits next to her husband, also under the blankets. She rests her hands on his arm and her head on his shoulder. Harvey sweetly kisses her forehead and she smiles.
"What's the matter? You want to spy on what I do on my phone?"
Donna snorts. "Why are you making that joke? You know I can't see anything without my glasses." She says with a little disgust.
"I'm sorry." He responds, guilty.
Donna is silent, but Harvey realizes that her body is not relaxed against his as usual.
"You know you look very sexy with them, don't you?"
"Don't try to fix it."
He separates a little from her, so he can look at her.
"It's the truth, Donna. You look beautiful and so sexy. You know I'm not lying and when you buy something I don't like, I tell you." He pauses. "Just to clarify, not everything you wear has to please me."
"But I enjoy it when my husband likes me." She says a little shy, and Harvey still finds this as a great show, see the great Donna Paulsen shy in front of him.
"I like you all the time, Donna. Even when you wear that dreadful sweater you bought for Christmas or when you put those green things on your face."
She can't help but laugh. "But... The glasses."
"I love them." He says, honest.
Donna sighs and slides into the bed. Harvey stares at her for a few seconds, until he notices something.
"What happened that you're not reading any books?" He asks gently. He knows the answer.
Donna wants to answer, but she starts giggling with shame. Harvey slides beside her and passes her arm through his wife's abdomen.
"I'm an idiot."
Harvey denies with his head and looks for her glasses on her bedside table, carefully puts them on her face, and smiles at her.
"You're beautiful."
"Thank you, Harvey."
"It's the truth. I promise."
"I hope so."
"It is Donna. What book do you want to read?"
"It's late, I'm sleepy."
"It's early, you're not sleepy."
Donna's silent. Sometimes she forgets he knows her too.
"Tell me one and I'll get it."
Donna gives up, tells him a book and Harvey goes looking for her shelves.
"I'm sorry." She says when she ends a chapter of the book.
"It's all right." He responds, putting his phone aside. He lies down, looking at her. She leaves her book and wants to take off her glasses. "No, you leave them."
"Harvey, I'm not going to wear them to sleep."
"And who talked about sleep?" He asks, approaching her body with his hand, letting one leg of hers cross between his and her other leg goes up to his hips."I really need you to know how much I like to see you with glasses." He whispers on her lips.
