Post-Canon
Donna wakes up by the feeling of Harvey holding her hand in his hands and intertwining their fingers.
She doesn't open her eyes, doesn't move, and just enjoys the contact of Harvey's thumb stroking her wedding ring.
His fingers take her wedding ring and twist it softly.
She struggles not to smile, but she knows he already noticed that she's already awake.
"Can I ask what you are doing?" She moves her head to his shoulders and rests her cheek there.
He kisses her forehead and speaks with his lips rubbing her skin. "I'm just realizing that we're actually married. Sometimes it sounds crazy."
"Just sometimes?" She giggles and raises her head to look at him. "It sounds crazy all the time. I still can not believe it." She takes his ring hand and gives a kiss on his wedding ring.
"It makes me very happy that you are wearing my mom's ring."
She smiles and stares at him for a few seconds. "Me too, Harvey." She moves closer to him, drops her head on his chest, and tangles with his body, feeling his warmth on her cold skin. "I know that you miss her every day." She whispers.
"I do." He sighs and surrounds her with his arms. "But I can't think of a better way to honor her."
Donna smiles and moves to give him a few kisses on his neck. "We're actually married and I think that she really helped with this." She says with her lips against his skin and he loves to feel her soft breath like this. It feels so intimate.
"Oh yes, she really did." He smirks and supports his chin on her head.
They take a deep breath at the same time and relax on the other's body and stay silent there for a while.
Donna is molded to the shape of her husband's body, their legs are tangled under the blankets. The redhead's fingers travel over and over Harvey's arm and he holds her with all the love between his arms.
Sometimes when they are like this, no one dares to break that peaceful and safe bubble with any sound. Nor do they think it is necessary.
