Set on season 9.
Harvey arrives late at his place, and for a moment he's so immersed in his problems and how to get Faye out of the firm, that he is surprised when he finds traces of Donna in his condo. Her coat on the couch, her shoes on the side, a glass of wine used in the kitchen. And her perfume, he feels her perfume hugging him more and more as he walks towards his bedroom.
Sometimes his mind represses that he is the luckiest bastard on this planet and there are seconds where he gets distracted and is surprised that Donna is waiting for him in his bed as if that were the most normal in the world. It's that it is, but his mind still doesn't finish processing it and smiles like an idiot to realize that this is now real, it's just that he spent so many years repressing his feelings that he sometimes finds it hard to believe that they should no longer act as if nothing happened, and even better, that they can now prove it in every possible way.
He takes off his suit jacket, shoes, tie, and unbuttons his shirt cuffs as he walks towards the bedroom and knows Donna is awake, even though she hasn't lifted her head yet. She rests on her stomach, her long legs are tangled between the sheets in a way that cannot explain himself. In these weeks, he learned that Donna is the most restless human being in the world and that blankets always get inexplicably tangled with her.
He unbuttons his shirt looking at her and she remains undeterred. He chuckles to himself, takes off his pants and socks, and without saying anything, just lies down in front of her. Donna raises her left arm, giving space for him to curl up in her and Harvey does. He breathes deeply as he feels her body curl him up, feeling at peace, hides his face in the hollow of her neck and Donna crosses her arm over his head, letting her fingers play with his short hair, he purrs against Donna's skin and she smirks.
"Bad day?" She mutters.
"Awful." He snorts.
Donna kisses his forehead tenderly. "You're here now, relax." She whispers sweetly and Harvey nods and clings more to her. "You know I love when you wear your armor and go out to face the world..." Donna whispers. "But without a doubt, this is my favorite Harvey."
He smiles against her skin and gives her a kiss on her collarbone. "There are times when I forget that now I have a safe place to go back to... And when I remember it..." He sighs. "You do me really well, Donna."
"So you forget about me?" She asks amused.
"I couldn't forget you in 12 years, Donna." He says, completely honest. "You know what I mean, sometimes it's overwhelming, really nice, but overwhelming." He kisses her neck. "We repressed ourselves for so many years that... "
"I know… It also happens to me." She sighs and they stay silent for a few seconds, only letting themselves be flooded by the other and by their now shared reality. "But, we are together now, that's all that matters." She murmurs. "Stay here as long as you need."
"All my lifetime." He mutters, gently pressing his arm against her body and entangling his legs with hers and the sheets.
"Good… Because I wasn't going to let you escape anywhere."
Harvey smirks and brings her closer even more to him with his eyes closed and his lips and nose against the skin of her neck, she closes her eyes and breathes deeply, feeling the warmth of him against her body as she gently scratches his head and he purrs again at that. Donna smiles against his forehead and continues to do so, feeling his body relax even more against hers.
She loves to have the powerful Harvey Specter disarmed against her, feeling as he lets his armor go and just wants them to keep touching his hair as if it were a child, as he snores of pleasure, feeling, and enjoying that vibration against her neck skin.
Donna loves to know that he has the confidence to disarm with her. No doubt that this is one of the greatest achievements of her life. Her love, allowing himself to be vulnerable with her, even when the world thinks he's a tough nut to crack, Harvey allows her to see him as he really is, and that makes Donna's heart expand even more in her chest of love for that man.
