It has been only a few minutes since they had accepted to be husband and wife and it's in the first moment that Donna stays alone, that what just happened hits her, her eyes full of tears, and her whole body trembles.
She had just married the only man she really loves, and loved, throughout her life and suddenly feels all that so huge, not because she repents or anything like it, but because she never believed this would happen.
Harvey approaches her, having walked away for a few seconds to call Ray, and sees her on her back, her body slightly trembling.
"Hey... Donna... Are you crying?" he murmurs, resting his palm on the bare part of her back.
She chuckles. "I guess..."
He also chuckles, reassuring himself to hear her like that. "Are you already regretting marrying this idiot?"
"Hmm... Maybe." She giggles again, and he does it too.
"Are you okay?" he whispers, wrapping her by her back, his chin leaning on her collarbone.
"Yes, just... Processing what we just did." She smiles widely.
Harvey kisses her cheek and makes her turn. His hands affectionately grab her hips while she surrounds his neck with her arms. "You know... You've been the best impulse I've had in my life." She smiles and caresses his neck with her fingers. "I always try to be a rational man, although many times I fail... And most of the time, I ruin everything because of my impulses. Except, with you." Donna's smile gets bigger. "Every impulse that led me to stay close to you, and protect you, even though everything else was collapsing, was the right thing to do. You've always been the right thing." Donna's tears, far from calming, only increase, while she feels her body tremble more and more. Harvey raises one of his hands to her face and carefully wipes her cheeks with his fingers. "Running to your apartment that night by impulse was the best thing I've done in my life, Donna." The two smile and he wraps her around the waist, bringing her closer to him, while their fronts join in the middle. "And to have married you today... The other best impulse of my life."
"Then... can I ask you something?" she sobs.
"Anything…" he whispers, his voice warm, wrapping her like his arms.
"Jump to every impulse you have with me. We've done pretty well for now." She smiles and spreads her smile to her husband.
"I'll do…" he whispers. "Now I feel the urge to kiss my wife."
"You definitely have to follow that impulse. Your wife will like it very much, I'm sure of it." Harvey giggles softly and wraps her lips with his while both squeeze their bodies more, being as close as they can, giving mutual permission to explore their mouths and to have their tongues tangled in between. One of his hands climbs to her nape, bringing her even closer, while she raises one of her hands to his head, forcing his nose to be crushed against hers.
Suddenly, the world around them disappears. There are people outside the room where they are, but for both, they cease to exist. They are only them, as they have always been. Both make their lungs hold as long as they can because they don't want to break that kiss. They don't want to break that bubble of happiness and love that surrounds them. They want to live there forever.
"Get a room, Darvey!" Mike yells from the door. "It's very unpleasant to see mom and dad so horny."
Harvey and Donna separate a little, laughing, though they still hug each other. "Get out of here, Mike! This isn't suitable for kids!" Mike laughs and walks away, closing the door first.
As soon as they are alone again, Donna clings to him and vents endless tears in his arms. Her crying is much deeper than a few minutes ago. "Are you actually regretting it now, aren't you?" he murmurs in her ear, giggling, stroking her hair with his fingers.
"I never thought we'd be together, you know? And when I lost my hopes, you knocked on my door..." She separates a little from him to look at him. "It was the best impulse you had in your life." The two smile. "And since that night, despite everything, I'm happy Harvey, because I'm with you... and after believing that I could never love you as I wanted–" she takes a deep breath, trying to control her tears. "And now, just a few months later, we're married... just–" she sighs. "I'm trying to get my mind to process it." She pauses and wipes her own tears.
"You've made that joke more than once that we had been married for the last 7 years." She smiles. "Should you have processed it already?"
Donna laughs amid her tears. "Will we spend 7 years married?"
"7 years will be just the beginning of our marriage." He murmurs and gives her a chef kiss.
"I know." She smirks. "Please, don't doubt for a second that these are tears of happiness."
He smiles and kisses her forehead, hugging her against him again. "I'll make sure you are happy every day, I promise you."
She smiles and clings to him, sticking her fingers into his shoulder blades. "I promise you the same... despite all the bad things that can happen, make you happy every day."
They hug tighter for a few seconds and then separate enough to look at each other. Harvey wipes her tears again and, still clinging her to his body, begins to splash her face with kisses that make her giggle.
A few seconds later, Harvey's phone interrupts them, Ray warning them he's waiting for them outside. But they don't mind. They know they have 7 years, and the rest of their lives to make each other happy.
