Set during season 9
Although it seems that this has always been this way, it has been less than a week since Harvey knocked at her door and a deep look that said everything they had buried for more than a decade changed everything.
This is the first non-working day they spend together. They slept in Harvey's condo after having sex and before they finished opening their eyes that morning, they couldn't resist doing it again. They drank coffee and spent a long while cuddling in bed, and now Harvey is taking a shower, while she tries to tidy up her stuff that this week had blended in with Harvey's. In just a few days, there are dirty and clean underwear sets, dresses to send to the dry cleaner, a toothbrush he bought for her, and she also has some of her beauty products. Also, in his refrigerator, she had found her favorite jam, almond milk, and yellow tomatoes. All that surprised her... In less than 24 hours, he made room for her in the place that had been just for him for too long, which makes her feel she is finally in the right place.
But without a doubt, what surprises her most is that while she's taking out her clothes from the little suitcase she brought to spend the weekend here, she hears him humming a song in the shower and she can swear that the smile that is drawn on her face is bigger than her mouth. She stealthily approaches the bathroom to listen to him better and is at that moment where she realizes something: it's a lie that she knows him completely. There are still things to discover about him, and that speeds up her heart and makes her smile again.
Want to fall, fall so far
I want to fall, fall so hard
And I call it magic
And I call it true
I call it magic.
And if you were to ask me
After all that we've been through
Still believe in magic?
Yes, I do
Of course, I do.
So, not only does Harvey Specter sing in the shower, but it's not jazz. He's singing a completely mellow Coldplay song.
Donna is sure that many years ago she let him know it was a band she used to listen to, to which he replied it was too commercial for him.
Unable to stop smiling, she just keeps going with what she was doing, enjoying his hoarse but soft voice, and of course, completely out of tune in the shower.
Within a few minutes, he returns to the room, with a towel curled up on his hips, his hair wet and drops of water decorating his muscles.
"So..." she smiles mischievously at the sight of him. "Do you sing in the shower?" Harvey's face turns red right away, and that only makes Donna giggle softly.
Yes, he used to sing, but it's something that no one really knew and hadn't even realized that he had done it. "Well, it's time that you know it." He murmurs, shrugging. "Sorry, I did without realizing it."
Donna tilts her face slightly to one side and squints her eyes. "I mean, luckily you're a lawyer and not a singer..." the two laugh. "But I like to listen to you." She tells him fondly. "I didn't know you liked Coldplay."
"You mentioned it once..."
"And you said it was too commercial." She rolls her eyes while curling her arms around his neck.
"I also said I just wanted to be your friend." He murmurs, luring her against him by her waist. "I guess we both lied here."
"This is unfair." She whispers as her facial expression softens and feels her heart speeding up again. "I was ready to make fun of you." Her fingers tangle in the wet hair of his nape as she speaks.
"I'm a lawyer who knows how to turn things in his favor."
"But–" she pouts, and he moves closer to her lips to silence her with a kiss.
"But?" he chuckles on her lips.
"You've been quiet for how long?"
"About what?"
Donna blushes and smirks. "Coldplay."
Harvey squints his eyes, tilting his head to the side. "Yep, I won't answer that."
Donna wrinkles her nose and hates him for a second, but then she realizes something. "I have someone to go to the next concert with. That's good." She murmurs and gives him a brief kiss on the lips. "I just have one question left…" he nods. "Why that song? Why now?"
Harvey chuckles. "You wanna know if I was singing it for you?" she shrugs, a little embarrassed, and he leans to speak close to her ear. "Do I have to answer? I thought you always knew everything, Donna." She giggles and turns her head to meet his lips.
"I hope the shower recharged your energy." She mutters in the middle of the kiss, dropping the towel from around his waist.
"It sure did." He whispers to her on her lips, pushing her onto the bed and when he falls on top of her, he buries on her neck, going up with a path of wet kisses from her clavicle to her ear. "Since you haven't dared to ask what you really wanted to know..." he murmurs. "I lied longer saying I just wanted to be your friend, than the time I lied about Coldplay." He mutters, his lips rubbing her skin and making her shudder. "I can say it how long on our first Coldplay concert."
"Harvey..." her lips pout again, turning her head until her nose collides with his.
"What?" he whispers.
"Make me feel that magic." She replies, still murmuring, and crashes his lips with hers.
