"Hey..." Harvey murmurs, after entering their house. It's late, and he finds her sleeping on the couch, which makes him smile tenderly. She's wearing a nightgown, her hair in a messy ponytail, with no makeup. A blanket covers her legs.
"Hey..." she mutters, rubbing her eyes.
"What are you doing here?" he asks, getting closer to her.
"Waiting for you."
The corner of his lip curves upwards. "You didn't have to."
"But I want to." She says and gets up from there, walks towards him, and puts her hands on his chest. "How did it go?"
Harvey doesn't respond, just grabs her by her waist and greets her with a soft kiss on her lips. "Not great."
"I'm sorry." She murmurs, tapping her fingers gently on his chest. "Do you wanna go to bed and tell me?"
"You wanna go to bed." She chuckles. "Your eyes are smaller."
"I'm sleepy." She shrugs.
"Yes, me too." He responds and gives her a brief kiss. "Go. I'll go to the bathroom first."
"I'll wait for you there." Donna gives him one last kiss before separating from him and she heads towards the bedroom, and he towards the bathroom.
A few minutes go by when he slides into bed next to her and she snuggles against him.
"So… Do you wanna tell me?"
"I mean, we closed the deal." Harvey wraps her around his right arm. "But the problem was this." He raises his left hand.
Donna frowns and gets up enough to look at him, her hands on his chest. "What?"
"A woman tried to flirt with me... I'm irresistible, you know?" he shrugs, with a sexy smile on his lips and that makes Donna laugh.
"So... It went not great because you're married?"
Harvey lowers his left hand, and both are now on her lower waist. "I mean... There were several people there, almost all men. Only one of them was with his wife. And then this other woman. She sat next to me and was all night flirting with me and wanting to touch me."
"I should have gone with you." She wrinkles her nose at him.
Harvey chuckles because she looks so cute. "I dodged her every time, I promise."
Donna's expression softens, and a smile appears on her lips. "I know, Harvey. You don't even have to say it."
He smirks and they kiss. "But she insisted, a lot. So, I held up my ring and asked if she hadn't noticed. And she said yes, but it didn't matter. That shouldn't stop us from having a nice evening." Donna rolls her eyes. "Imagine my face at that moment."
Donna smiles warmly and goes closes to him and kisses his lips. "Not even with a ring do women stop approaching you? Are you that fucking sexy?"
Harvey laughs. "And what do you think?"
"Fucking sexy, but my fucking sexy." She says on his lips and kisses him again.
"All yours." He murmurs against her lips and kisses her.
"Do you know how I stopped her?" Donna separates herself from him just a bit and shakes her head. "She asked me how long we had been married. So, I told her our third anniversary is tomorrow and the look of surprise on her face almost made me laugh."
"No one can believe that I have married the most womanizing man on the planet."
"Yeah, pretty funny." He rolls his eyes and she chuckles. "She said that if I did remember our anniversary; it's because I really love my wife and that with those men, the battle is lost before it begins. So she told me to come home to celebrate the anniversary with my wife tomorrow."
Donna's smile widens on her face as she listens to him speak and feels his thumbs wiggling on her waist. "Today." She murmurs.
"Today?" he frowns.
"It's midnight... Happy Anniversary." She says with a smile on her face.
Harvey smiles too. "Happy Anniversary." He replies and their lips meet again. "I love you, wife."
Dona smirks. "I love you, husband." She gives him one last kiss and snuggles back against him. "How lucky you haven't told that woman that you forgot it last year."
They both laugh. "Why do you think I remembered this year? I've worked hard for over two weeks to get rid of your anger."
They laugh again. "The anniversary gift and sex are tomorrow… Unless you forget it again."
"Yes, of course... I can forget a date, but never that you have promised sex."
She giggles. "You don't change, Specter."
"Hey, you've changed me enough. Don't you think so?"
"I can't disagree with you." She kisses him on his chest. "It's so good to know you won't forget our anniversary now."
One of Harvey's hands goes up her back until his thumb caresses her neck. "I'll never forget your anger, so I won't forget our anniversary again."
"Great, you're a husband who functions under pressure or threat." They both laugh again and she closes her eyes, settling on top of him. "But I love you anyway. And these three years have been pretty amazing." She whispers.
Harvey smiles against her forehead. "You're half of this marriage. So, of course, they were pretty amazing." He squeezes her against him. "And it's good to know that you'll still be a part of this marriage." He mutters.
"Always... But I couldn't do anything without my other half."
"Don't worry about it. I'll still be here for you to keep doing amazing things in this marriage." She smirks. "And I love you too." He kisses her forehead, and she sighs, relaxing. "And now... go back to sleep. Thanks for waiting for me."
"These three years of marriage are proof that it was worth waiting for you. And I'll never stop doing it."
Harvey squeezes her against him again and smooches her forehead. "You're the better half here. You always were. I don't have any doubt."
"I don't doubt it either." She murmurs and they laugh.
