Silence fell over the room, you could almost hear the pin drop.

- Oh my God, oh my God. Oh my. God. Tina thinks I'm her girlfriend! Meaning he's brain damaged! Not that I have anything against those beautiful eyes and shapely body... Get a grip Ava! Tina is your friend!

Brick and Mordecai suddenly burst out laughing.

- You have no idea what I thought I heard! Brick said

- You have no idea what I heard! Mordecai said.

- After all, we've been together for a long time ... Tina began ... Why this surprise?

Silence. This time it was ringing silence. The two men looked at Tina, at each other, then ran out of the room, shouting "Tannis!" at the top of their lungs.

Tina peeled herself off Ava's back and looked into Ava's eyes.

- Was I unconscious long? She asked.

- Whole day. Ava replied, trying not to get lost in Tina's eyes.

- Did you miss me?... Tina gently grabs Ava's chin and forces her to look straight into her eyes... I know I'm only wearing this hospital gown, but it's not like you haven't seen me naked.

Ava could only thank God that the door had just opened and she didn't have to answer.

Brick was carrying a bar stool with Tannis on it, Tannis didn't seem to know what was going on if the immobile position was a clue.

- Tannis needs to examine you, Tina. Brick said dead serious.

Ava felt Tina's grip on her hand tighten.

- V doesn't want to... She said.

At least Ava knew her nickname.

- Relax Tina... She started... Tannis won't hurt you. He'll just give you an exam so you can get out of here. Don't you want to leave here?

- I want.

- Exactly. One quick medical examination and you can go blow something up.

- Just not on the ship... Tannis said... Now please leave.

Ava got up and was about to leave but Tina grabbed her and pulled her to get her attention.

- Shall we meet in your room? Ava nodded and left.

Ava sat on her bed, taking off her hoodie, intending to pretend to be asleep, hoping that Tina would leave her alone.

She was almost asleep when she heard the door open, knew who it was, the smell of gunpowder and wind was unmistakable.

- Tina, please go to someone else... She begged mentally... Don't make this any more awkward than it already is.

She heard a pair of shoes drop and then a warm shape pressed against her, pressing its nose into her neck.

Ava opens her eyes to see Tina snuggled comfortably against her, her arms wrapped around her, her face pressed against her neck and chest.

Her cheeks turned red. She hadn't had such close contact since her parents and Maya died.

Well, she had no choice in the situation, so she might as well go to sleep. Closing her eyes, she fell asleep.
