Just a week after New Year's Day Evangeline gave birth Benjamin Orion Black.
He had his mother's prominent facial structure, and his father's hair color and same shape of the eye, and color.
We all joked on how Sirius was disappointed that his son looked exactly like his mother rather than him, saying that had it been a girl, she'd look exactly like him. Earning a thwack from Andi to the arm.
I was currently sitting in my room, staring out the window, when Andi rushed into my room slamming the door opened. Her dark brown hair windblown, sticking up wildly making her look like her younger sister Bellatrix, and her eyes wide as she gasped for air.
"What's wrong?" I asked, checking the bassinet to see if the twins were still asleep.
"We've just received an owl..." She said slowly. "Professor Dippet is dead. Dumbledore is now the Headmaster of Hogwarts." She said, as her lip began trembling.
"What? How? That—that's impossible." I gasped, shocked as my eyes flicked towards the bassinet that was placed on the bed.
"I'm not sure. H-he was found somewhere in Austria, word isn't known on why he there but it says that the other three people who were with him, haven't been found as of yet. I fear Kuznetsova is on the move again." She said, her nose wrinkling.
I nodded at her, trying to figure out where to begin, as I began pacing.
I began to feel the familiar stirring in my stomach, and my head began to feel a sharp pain.
"Andi, get every child in this house and take them down into the safe room. Now." I said, beginning to feel a wave of vertigo hit me. "Get Tom. Tell him to come —her-e." I said, as everything around me began to get tainted in black, before everything disappeared.
Vision:
Four blurry figures appeared along with four resounding pops, they stood before the safe house.
Now that I took a closer look and I realized one of the figures had a small child clinging to it.
The figures turned to one another before they slowly began approaching the house.
My eyes flashed open to see a worried Tom sitting next to me while the other three stood in guard.
I pulled myself to sitting position and quickly pulled out my wand.
"Tom, someone is coming. There are four of them possibly five. I don't know who it is or if they're dangerous but hurry. We have to protect everyone!" I shouted as I rolled off the bed and stepped into my shoes and ran out of the room.
I could hear them as they ran after me.
At the moment, I couldn't register anything but keeping all the children safe along with the woman.
I could feel my cloak fly behind me as ran out the front door.
"Anna! You cannot be doing idiotic things like these, especially now that we have two children to look after! Think about them! Do you really want them growing up like we did?" Tom asked, as he pulled me behind him just as the four resounding pops were heard.
I flinched back in response, but quickly recovered. My eyes narrowing at him as I resisted the urge to kick him in the shin.
"Tom, I will not allow anyone hurt my babies. I will be the one to handle these people. End of discussion." I sneered, as I side stepped to stand right next to him.
"Always wants to be the hero..." Sirius muttered, from somewhere on the left.
I chose to ignore him and continued to stare at the four approaching figures.
Watching them closely as they edged closer to where we stood.
"Take one more step and I swear on Merlin's beard that I'll blast you to pieces." Tom and I growled at the same time.
I watched as all four figures pulled the hoods of their cloaks down.
What I wasn't prepared to see standing before me were my 'dead' parents along with Tom's 'dead' mother and another girl, who to my utter astonishment looked exactly like Tom's mother.
"Tom Marvolo Riddle, how dare you growl at your own mother." She chastised, her forest green eyes narrowing as she looked at him.
"M-mother?" He asked, clearly shocked.
"Our parents? T-Tom?" I gaped, looking back at him with wide eyes.
James, Remus, Ted, and Sirius all burst into laughter as they noticed our shocked expressions.
We both realized we were still gaping at everyone like fish and snapped our mouths closed.
"To our knowledge and what we've been told, our parents are known to be dead. So, who are you?" Tom asked cuttingly, pulling me closer.
"Son, if I were you I'd let go of my daughter before I make you." The man growled, stepping closer.
"My father is dead. He has been since I was three. Or so I've been told." I interjected, stoically.
As I felt my emotions swirl uncontrollably under my calm façade.
"We'll give you all time to talk. I'll go tell the girls that it's alright to come out of the safe room." James said, as he, Remus, Sirius and Ted walked back into the house, closing the door behind them.
"Anna, calm down." Tom cautioned, never taking his piercing eyes from the four that stood before us.
"Sophia, surely you have to believe that we left you for your own good, for the good of the wizarding world." The woman with multicolored hair said, as she adjusted the same child on her hip.
"Do not call me by that name! You are no one to call me by that name. Only my family, friends, and now fiancée are allowed to call me by that." I snapped, feeling my body begin tense up.
"Now, you listen here, young lady-" The man began sternly.
"No! You listen. Did you honestly think that abandoning us would help save the world?! How could you do that to us? How can you live with yourselves? Knowing that you abandoned us. The individuals I knew to be my parents weren't coldhearted. They weren't people who would leave their child in an orphanage without looking back! They sure as hell wouldn't have done it the way you two did!" I shouted, feeling as Tom wrapped an arm around me in restraint.
I heard another set of four resounding pops, and flicked my eyes briefly towards the direction that they came in.
Out of the darkness walked out Narcissa, Lucius, along with Bellatrix, who carried a small bundle in arms, and Bastian who carried another.
"Is something wrong, Annie?" She asked, her eyes flicking towards the four figures who stood before us.
"No, nothing is wrong, Bella, these people were just leaving." I said, before I turned to make my way back inside.
"Oh honestly, both of you quit being dramatic. They left you for your own good." The younger version of the raven-haired woman spoke.
"Try living what we both went through and then you can have the right to comment about our lives. Until then, you all need to get out of here, this is private property. Now, if you're all done trying to be the parents we needed long ago, I am done speaking to you." I said, as I walked into the house, Tom behind me.
I was met with everyone in the living room.
Andi and Ted both stood up when they saw my heartbroken expression. Tom quickly wrapping his arm around my shoulders and pulling me into a hug as I let out a whimper.
"So, I take it that it's true. Those are your parents." Andi whispered, as she pulled me into a motherly hug.
I nodded, letting out a whimper, as she held me and patted my back.
"How are you feeling? Be honest." She asked, as she released me and stepped back.
"H-how could they just abandon us? We both grew up thinking no one loved us. We thought that it was us against the world and now years later when we feel like we finally feel like we have a family of our own, they come waltzing into our lives like nothing happened at all." I mumbled through tears.
"Do you have any idea how many days and nights I spent crying over how alone I felt? How many birthday wishes I wasted hoping that they'd turn up and take me with them? Well, I'm done. Tom and I are getting married. I— my feelings don't matter anymore, all that matters is that our children don't grow up the same way we did. That—that they never feel what we felt as we grew up." I said, straightening up.
"Now, Annie, I know you don't mean that. You know that you've never been alone. Look around you. Both of you. Are you actually by yourselves?" Ted asked.
"You know you've been the sister I've always wanted. The one who understands me." Bellatrix said, smiling at me.
"Hey! What am I chopped liver?" Narcissa asked, from the chesterfield, pouting.
"Hey! I resent that!" Andi said, mock scowling at both of us.
"See? You understand what I mean. They don't." She said, smiling at me as she sat back down.
I gave her a watery smile before I slowly made my way towards the bassinet in the corner of the room, and lifted it with a flick of my wrist.
I could see Lily sobbing into James chest as I turned to go up the stairs.
"Give us time. I honestly don't think you would react any different if the situation at hand happened to any of you." Tom said as he turned to follow us.
When I made it into the room, I set the bassinet in the stand that stood near the corner of the room. Before slipped out of my shoes and pulled each twin into my arms. I felt more tears slip out as Tom walked into the room. He quietly shut the door behind himself before he put up the spells again.
I spent the rest of the night watching the twins. I would occasionally have to feed them, or change their diapers before I finally grew tired enough to fell into an unpleasant sleep.
