Izuku's POV

It took Katsuki nearly thirty minutes to reach Tsukauchi's apartment. As expected of a former thief the boy climbed up the side of the building with easy. When his head popped up over the window sill Izuku helped him up into the room.

Katsuki grunted, "Thanks."

Then he looked around Izuku's room with a critical eye. A grin broke out over his face, "Your room looks good. Seems the detective is treating you well."

Izuku replied slightly confused, "I told you he was."

Katsuki replied with a dark look, "But you're self sacrificing. I wouldn't be satisfied until I saw it for myself. Knowing you, you would tell us he was treating you well if only to keep us from worrying."

Izuku opened his mouth to snap back then closed it. As much as it annoyed him to admit it, he was right. If it meant the others would have kind homes he would sacrifice his own happiness.

"See even you can't argue with me," grinned his friend.

It was a grin he shared if only for a moment. Until he remembered why they were here. Right this was serious and he had to tell him.

Seeing the seriousness in Izuku's face his friend sobered up. There were few things that could make them somber like this. Their upcoming conversation was one such thing.

Katsuki sat on Izuku's bed and asked seriously, "Tell me everything that happened."

So he did. Katsuki didn't interrupt he simply listened to the explanation of what happened. The pin had been replaced in its spot on desk. A few times red eyes flicked over to it appraising it.

Katsuki said once he was finished, "This is big, Zuku. Your father is alive and he is a member of the biggest thief group in the world. Though the implications that Kid had given. That... that is something else entirely."

Izuku knew what he meant. Kid had told him that most of the Phantom Thieves had a similar pin. But they were all in silver and gold. All but one within the main group. That was the one his own father had.

A shudder ran down his spine. It couldn't be. Could it? No that was ridiculous. There was no way that any family member of his could be a high up member of a thief group. The only reason he was was because he helped create it.

Katsuki said noting it, "Hey don't think about it. If he is someone high up then we will do what we always do. Stick together then adopt the wait and see approach."

Izuku took a deep breath to calm the rush of his emotions. His chosen brother was right. There was no need to panic. Not yet at least. Whoever his father was hadn't made a move yet. That meant he either didn't care or he didn't know about Izuku yet.

Though he highly doubted the latter. Kid would have told him about his existence. So that meant he didn't care. At this point Izuku didn't care about the adults. They always let him down. Even with those that had taken them in he was keeping them at arms length.

Katsuki said after a moment, "You should probably go back to sleep. The detective will be worried if he sees dark circles under your eyes."

He shook his head as he denied, "I don't think I'll be able to sleep tonight. Are you staying?"

Katsuki leaned back against his bed as he said, "Yep. I'm not going anywhere. When Jeanist wakes up he will find me gone he'll call the detective."

Rolling his eyes Izuku moved to stand by the window. His back was to his best friend and his green eyes searched the night. What he was searching for he couldn't say.

There was a small flash of movement on the rooftop across from the apartment. It was so small he might not have caught it if he hadn't been distracted. What some people didn't realize was the power of distraction. It could allow one to catch something that normally would have been missed.

Now he tried to get a better look at what he had seen. Even with his keen eyes he couldn't spot anything out of the ordinary. It could have been a trick of the light but something in Izuku doubted it. Was there someone watching him?

Katsuki questioned noting the way his shoulders stiffened, "What is it?"

Swallowing he said, "Someone was watching us."

That had his friend sitting up and then moving to his side. Together their eyes searched for the movement he had seen. Trying to find the watcher. Without any luck. There was no other movement from the rooftop.

Katsuki said after a moment, "Whoever it was, is gone now. Come on let's go at least lay down. I'm still struggling to sleep at Jeanist's place."

Izuku would have protested but not in the face of Katsuki's perceived weakness. It was rare that he would have said such a thing. He knew that nightmares were not a weakness. Everyone in their group had them. It was what came from abusive families.

So he reluctantly agreed. They shared his bed which was large enough to give them both plenty of room. It took a long time for Izuku to fall asleep. Even when Katsuki's breathing evened out. His eyes simply stared at the ceiling until exhaustion took over.

Tsukauchi's POV

Ringing drew him out of sleep and reluctantly Naomasa turned over to grab his phone. It was one of the rare nights he had gone to sleep early in order to catch up on his sleep. Already he could tell it was too early for him to be up. Which meant something had gone terribly wrong for one person or another. That was the only reason someone would dare call him at such an early hour.

When he finally grasped his phone he frowned. It was five in the morning and the one calling him was Hakamata. What the hell could have happened from when they had talked just a few hours before?

Naomasa said in a low growl, "You better have a good reason for calling me, Hakamata. It is five in the morning and I don't have to be at the station today."

"Is Midoriya there?"

That question made all of the tiredness flush out of his system. He sat up his dark eyes searching the room as if expecting a threat and listening to the apartment. There was nothing to see and the apartment was silent.

Terrified of the answer he asked, "Why are you asking?"

Hakamata replied and Naomasa could hear him moving around his apartment, "I can't find Katsuki. I'm not sure when he left but he's not in my apartment."

Naomasa pushed himself off the bed and headed out of the room. His heart threatened to burst from his chest. The kids wouldn't just leave. They were looking after the younger ones. On top of that they wouldn't be able to last the winter. Not without help.

He didn't want to believe the kids had just up and left. It didn't make any sense. Unless they were threatened. Naomasa would have hoped that Izuku would come to him if he was being threatened. How they would been threatened anyways? So far they had been under the watchful eyes of Naomasa and heroes.

Naomasa went straight for Izuku's room hoping that the kid was still there. Quietly he pushed open the door and stuck his head in. What he saw brought a small smile to his face. Even if it was unexpected.

Izuku was laid out on his bed his mouth open slightly. His breathing was slow and even with sleep. It seemed he was finally getting some restful sleep. Though Naomasa saw that the child was not in his pajamas. Instead he was in regular clothes as if he had gone out just before going to sleep. Next to him with a single hand gripped Izuku's shirt was Bakugo Katsuki. Like the greenette Bakugo was fast asleep.

Even if he wasn't sure how the boy had gotten to Naomasa's apartment he was happy to see them both there. This meant they hadn't run off. Any fears he had were unfounded.

Quietly he closed the door and headed towards the kitchen. Only once he was sure he wouldn't wake the boys he raised the phone back to his ear.

He whispered, "Both Izuku and Katuki are here. Surprisingly they are sharing Izuku's bed. I'm not sure how or when Katsuki got here though."

Hakamata sighed in relief, "Thank God. I don't know how he got there either. Unless he took the train... I really hope he didn't."

Naomasa turned on his coffee machine as he said, "I don't blame you for your worry. The boys had a hard life before they came to us. It's understandable that they are still independent. All we can do is show them kindness and set defined boundaries."

"Alright," replied the hero, "I'll come get Katsuki later. When works best for you."

"Anytime is fine for me," said Naomasa, "We don't have any plans right now and I'm not going to wake them up. They both looked like they could use the sleep."
