"As it turns out Sonic, Tails and several other individuals have discovered that Dr Eggman's so-called Interstellar Amusement Park was actually a front for an Alien Enslavement Operation. Luckily, they were able to rescue them. Although to be fair who didn't see that coming?" the news reporter commented on how blatantly obvious it was that Eggman had still been up to no good.

"But in other news the aliens are known as Wisps and some of them have settled down here on Mobius. So be sure to welcome our new alien neighbors." finished the reporter.

Then suddenly the words Breaking News appeared on the screen before another segment began with a different reporter.

"Strange Black creatures have appeared in cities all over the world. According to reports they are coming from the Black Comet, a celestial body that has recently appeared in orbit. The Guardian Unit of Nations is now attempting to contain the situation. Civilians are advised to stay in their homes until evacuation orders are given." said the female reporter.

Shirou then turned off the TV and turned to Fiona.

"We're going out there." said Shirou with a determined look on his face.

"But we're supposed to stay inside." Fiona said with mild concern.

"There's people out there that need help. If you're going to stay here then that's fine but I'm still going with or without you." said Shirou with a tone filled with resolve.

Fiona decided that there was no stopping him so she might as well go make sure he didn't get himself killed. She got off of the bed and got ready. Shirou took off his v-neck and cargo pants and changed into body armor and tied a bandanna around his neck for if he needed to cover his face. Fiona got out of her PJs and into her two-piece black leather outfit and put on an arm holster with a survival knife fitted into it. She then tied another holster to her hip and fit a pistol within.

"Let's go." Shirou said before they walked out the door of their apartment and took account of the chaos outside.

There were numerous black creatures that seemed to be falling from the sky and destroying the city. Some were dragging away any civilians that happened to be caught outside while this was happening. The aliens came in a menagerie of different forms. Some were humanoid and roughly the size of a man, they appeared to be the basic footsoldiers of the invaders. Then there were other creatures that were larger and more muscular standing about eight feet tall with bulging muscles and claws these were probably the invasion forces' heavy infantry.

Then there were the flying creatures. There were the small bat-like ones that attacked by diving out of the air. And then there were the draconic looking creatures that fired lasers from their mouths. Shirou then decided to take action, he projected his bow and first took out the flying creatures. Then he went on to killing the creatures that were abducting the civilians.

Then he dispersed his bow and projected his married blades, Kanshou and Bakuya. He jumped off the railing and used reinforcement on his legs to withstand the fall. He then started to run cutting down the black aliens as he went spilling green blood on the pavement. Fiona joined him, she lept from the building onto the head of one of the black oaks and stabbed it in the head repeatedly until it dropped dead.

Then another black oak appeared and prepared to crush them only for Fiona to pull out her pistol and shoot it in the face repeatedly causing it to stagger before Shirou summoned his bow and shot it between the eyes finally killing it. As they dealt with all the Black Arms in the area the civilians they had saved thanked them before running to find shelter.

"Well, this area's clear. Now let's head out." said Shirou with a pleased expression.

Meanwhile

Shadow the Hedgehog raced across the streets of Empire City. The creature known as Black Doom attempted to convince him to join it's side. Shadow of course refused as he sought to protect the planet and it's people that Maria loved unconditionally. This was the day he had been created for. He then heard a familiar energetic voice speak to him.

"Hey, Shadow, long time no see!" shouted Sonic who sped up next to him.

"Hello Sonic. Quite a strange day we're having isn't it?" asked Shadow with a half-smile.

"Well, it shouldn't be any worse than when the Xorda attacked." Sonic said half-jokingly with a nervous smile.

Shadow couldn't help but chuckle at that. After The Xorda had discovered that they hadn't completely destroyed all traces of humanity they had begun a second attack on Mobius and had forced all of Mobius to put aside their differences and unite to stop them. Their Quantum Dial weapon had threatened to swallow the planet in a blackhole and had an automated defense grid capable of incinerating anything within a 100-mile radius along with a disruption field that disassembled any technology that came within range. It had only been stopped when Knuckles destroyed the defense grid and Sonic then used his speed to reverse the weapon's rotation which caused the dial to explode and launch him into space leaving everyone to believe that Sonic had died.

"I guess we'll have to see and find out." said Shadow.

Back with Shirou and Fiona

Shirou gazed at an absurd sight. A jewelry store's display window had been smashed open with the burglar alarm going off and Bean the Dynamite was looking at all the gemstones with a child-like glee while Bark the Polar Bear just stood nearby looking like he really didn't want to be there at the moment. Then Bean noticed that he was being watched as he moved his hands to cover the jewelry.

"My shinies!" shouted Bean.

"Let me talk to them. We could use an extra set of hands." Fiona said to Shirou.

"Are you sure? Bean's unpredictable." said Shirou.

"Bean's a little crazy but he's a sweetheart, he just got led down the wrong path in life and besides Nack seems to be nowhere in sight." Fiona reassured him.

"Hey Bean! I've got lot's more shinies for you right here." Fiona said enticingly as she took out a bag filled with rings they had found during a job where they had gone into the Special Zone to investigate the recent appearance of strange red rings.

"I'll give you these if you help me out, it'll be just like old times." Fiona offered the mad bomber.

As she pulled out the rings Shirou could swear he saw a twinkle in the duck's eye.

"Aye Aye, Fifinator!" said Bean while doing a salute.

"Alright, let's move out. Those aliens aren't going to kill themselves." said Shirou.

They then went along the road ahead to find more Black Arms waiting for them these ones had ranged weapons. And now there were giant worms coming out of the ground.

"Alright, Fiona you deal with the grunts, Bean you go deal with the worms, Bark you handle the heavy infantry while I deal with the flying ones." said Shirou as he summoned his bow.

"Okie dokie!" shouted Bean.

And so, Fiona started by hitting a black warrior with a flying kick. Bark started fighting the black oaks, while Bean threw bombs at the sand worms. And Shirou fired arrows at the black wings and black hawks. They used this strategy until they cleared out the entire city block.

Then a large flabby, winged creature with a single cyclopean eye appeared.

It breathed fire at them which they all dodged. Shirou fired arrows at it but they bounced off it's flabby hide. Bean threw a bomb which also bounced off of it back towards them.

"Bean no!" shouted Shirou as he was forced to leap out of the way of the bomb which then exploded.

"I think we should shoot it in the eye, that's a possible weak spot!" shouted Fiona.

Shirou obliged and shot an arrow in it's eye which seemed to work if the howl of pain was anything to go by.

"She's right! Bean join in and throw bombs at it's eye!" commanded Shirou.

Then they all pitched in as Shirou fired arrows, Bean threw bombs and Fiona fired a plasma weapon she had picked up from one of the aliens. All aimed at the eye of the Black Bull. The creature then screeched as it finally died after enough damage had been done to it's eye and it collapsed to the streets below.

Shirou gave Fiona a high-five while Bark stood with his arms crossed and Bean started pecking the corpse of the Black Bull.

Then Sonic and Shadow appeared and started to stare.

"Oh, hi Shadow!" said Shirou before he noticed that Shadow had the look of someone who felt betrayed. Then Shirou remembered who his current company was.

He looked to see Fiona with her arms crossed over her shoulders and looking away nervously and Bark sweating profusely.

"Uh, I can explain." Shirou said awkwardly.

Ending Short: Knuckles' Revenge

In a canyon somewhere in Downunda the ground was littered with the broken bodies of devil-dogs and one could hear the sound of grunting and that of fists punching something wet. It was here where the Chaotix watched in horror as Knuckles the Echidna punched Thrash the Tasmanian Devil into a bloody mess. Knuckles then paused for a moment.

"There, now we're even." said Knuckles using the same words Thrash had said after banishing the rest of the Echidnas to another Zone.

As Knuckles got up and prepared to leave, he heard Thrash begin to cough loudly.

"*gasp* You know I figured you wouldn't stop hunting me down. Even though I hate to admit it we actually have a lot in common it's almost like looking in a mirror. Maybe if our lives had been different, we could've been friends. *cough*" said Thrash sadly.

Knuckles turned to look at Thrash angrily. Thrash however turned to look at Charmy.

"I'm sorry about what I did to the bee girl. But I couldn't have her go and warn you about what I was doing before I finished-"

*crunch*

Thrash was cut off when Knuckles punched him in the throat in an act of blind rage. leaving Thrash dead with his eyes rolled back in his skull. Then Knuckles realized what he had done and looked down in shame at the gathering puddle of blood. He could see his reflection in the red liquid. He then thought of what his girlfriend, Julie-Su would think of what he had become.
