I watched as a portrait of Sirius, Evangeline, and their son appeared in the place of the old one, glossy and dust-free.
"That looks nicer than the other one. Not that I dislike the one with your mother, Sirius, but this one gives off a homey feeling to it." Remus said, chuckling with James.
"H-how did you know I had this? No one, not even Eva knew of this." Sirius told me, surprised.
"Call it a feeling." I chirped as I turned back towards where Tom was sitting, making my way towards him before plopping down on his lap.
He smiled, before wrapping his arms around my waist.
"So, we're at least a week away from the summer solstice. What are we going to do? How will us all getting our memories back help with anything?" James questioned.
"I don't know that it won't. All we can do is hope. For our children, it won't hurt to try. For them, for us. We did it once, we can do it again." I said, looking around the room.
I noticed they all nodded.
"James, I don't expect Lily to participate, the circumstances are far more different than they were the last time," I added, smiling as his stiff shoulders relaxed.
"You won't be participating either," Tom said, coming to stand behind me.
"You know that is impossible. We have to fight together in order to succeed, you know this." I argued.
"Well, at least I tried." He muttered, his eyes flicking around the room.
"Your home needs slight renovations, Black, from the looks of it.From the beams holding up the room to the walls and floors." Tom noted, looking at the chipped beams that held up the ceiling.
"Yes, well, it's been years since I had stepped foot back in here. Mother was always so dreary when it came to decoration. Even Christmas was a rather dull event. Ever heard of the term Black Christmas? That wasn't only a term used in this house." He deadpanned.
I rolled my eyes and looked over at Evangeline, pushing into her mind briefly.
'Be calm. It's just me. I need you to imagine how'd you like this room and the rest of the house to look like.' I thought, watching as she nodded, closing her eyes in deep concentration.
Once I received a clear image I closed my eyes, too, and began to concentrate on replicating that image and applying itto the dingy placehouse.
'Homenum Reparo' I thought, letting myself concentrate on repairing and upgrading all and every inch of the house.
"What is she doing?" I heard Sirius ask from somewhere in the room.
"Shhhh." Tom hushed, "She's trying to fix the house up." Tom replied quietly.
"Is she going to be able to fix it allby herself?" Remus asked, surprised.
"Are you doubting thatshe can, Black? Don't you remember all the extraordinary things she did by herself when we were back in Hogwarts? She need not flick her wrist either." Tom reminded quietly.
"Sorry I asked," Remus replied with a chuckle.
"We managed to expel Doxies and a few other things that we found when we first arrived," Molly muttered quietly.
There were a few creaks heard and bangs heard as the beams in the ceiling were replaced, the room grew larger.
The dingy wallpapers transformed into a pale creamy gray color rather moldy gray.
The windows along with the old dingy drapes changed into different colored drapes.
All chipped and lopsided beams were fixed, even the spots where the soot grew, were now nowhere to be seen.
"James, you may want to go check on Lily," I suggested, inclining my head towards the door.
"She really did it." Sirius gapped.
"Oh, it's beautiful," Evangeline said, her eyes scanning the room happily.
I nodded, suddenly feeling my energy begin to fade. I felt the familiar heat rush out of my nose before I began to see the familiar black spots floating in the air.
"Tom, the twins." I managed to say before I felt myself plummet to the ground.
I woke up sometime later, feeling as if I was sleeping rather than just collapsed in the middle of the room.
I felt a cool rag on my forehead, as I slowly opened my eyes.
I was still in the large room, only difference was that I was laying down in a wide large bed that someone had conjured in the middle of the room.
Tom was pacing at the foot of the bed, while everyone else was sitting still around the room.
"Well, isn't this wonderful..." I muttered, looking at all of their concerned expressions.
"Sophie." Tom breathed, relief radiating from him.
"How long have I been out?" I asked, hesitantly.
"Half-past," Tom replied, scowling as he looked at the corner of the room.
I nodded, looking down at my lap before looking back at him. "I know where to find Newt. He's living ten minutes away from here. I-I can go now and be back within minutes." I said, crawling off of the bed.
"You are not going out by yourself. Especially right now." Tom said cutting me off.
I scoffed, crossing my arms as I turned to look at him, raising my eyebrow at him.
"So, you're doubting I can protect myself?" I questioned, tapping my foot impatiently.
"Dinner is—oh Merlin—Dinner is ready. Everyone, please follow me to the dining room." Molly said.
I flicked my wrist, making the large bed disappear, and threw one last look at my babies before heading down the hall to the dining room.
Everyone following closely behind me.
'Talk to me.' He thought as he took my hand in his.
I sighed, shaking my head at him tired. 'I'm not sure I want to know what our memories hold. What if it changes things? What if you don't love me after we remember everything? What if—what if we can't be together?' I thought, willing the tears I felt forming to disappear.
'I can assure you, my feeling for you won't change. What I feel for you goes deeper than any memory that can be erased, I can feel it.' He assured.
I felt the corners of my lips begin to twitch, as I squeezed his hand in acknowledgement.
"So, I hear you two are engaged," Arthur said, looking at us in question.
"Yes, we are," Tom confirmed, as Molly finished serving us.
"Do you two have a date set then?" Molly asked as she sat down next to Arthur.
Tom looked at me, inclining his head to the side. "I was thinking within the next month or two," I said, looking into his eyes before turning to look at everyone else.
His forest green eyes turning a deeper color than before as he stared back at me, a smile beginning to pull at the corners of his lips.
"So soon?" Arthur asked, raising an eyebrow at us. "What's the rush?" he questioned, leaning in his seat.
"Time apart always manages to bring people closer together," Tom replied simply, as we all began to eat.
It just so happened to be tuna casserole, with butter veggies, and freshly baked rolls.
I could hear forks clanking on the dishes, and a few moans and groans as we ate.
"Molly could give you a run for your money, Annie," James muttered as he chewed a bite.
"That or we can cook together for our small army." I quipped as I finished my food.
We all finished eating and quietly went back to the large room.
Deciding to go get some rest and come back to the same room to discuss any possible plan in the upcoming future.
