Shadow came at Fiona with a spin dash but Shirou intervened by projecting 9-lives and swinging it with reinforced strength and hit him with the blunt end of the sword sending him flying like a baseball.

"I don't want to hurt you Shadow." said Shirou.

"Can I make him go boom?" asked Bean.

"No! No Bean no boom!" scolded Fiona.

"Aw." Muttered Bean as he threw the bomb he had away as it blew up somewhere else.

"So, you left G.U.N. to go and work with criminals Shirou? Bean and Bark are one thing but that witch too?" asked Shadow with an accusing tone.

"You know this guy Shadow?" asked Sonic.

"He used to work for G.U.N. until he left once he had enough to settle down or so I thought." explained Shadow angrily.

"She wants to change Shadow! I saw that in her!" explained Shirou.

"He's right!" Fiona stepped in to defend Shirou.

"I felt guilty after I realized how horrible I had been. I hated myself. I want to make amends!" said Fiona.

"Do you really mean that Fi?" asked Sonic.

"Yes, yes, I do! Ever since that night I realized how much I took you for granted. You were always too good to me. I never deserved someone like you. I tried to end it all but Shirou saved my life and gave me a reason to live." Fiona explained.

"I know I might never be a Freedom Fighter again but I just want to say I'm sorry for everything Blue." Fiona finished sadly.

"That's all I needed to hear." Sonic said calmly.

"By the way, I'm sorry about almost killing you in the lab. I wasn't myself." Sonic apologized.

"No, it's fine I kinda had it coming. I was being a heartless bitch." answered Fiona.

Shadow walked up to Shirou letting out a tired sigh.

"I'm going to have to trust you on this Shirou. Because you seem to mean well with your actions. But do not betray my trust. Do I make myself clear?" asked Shadow.

"Crystal." Shirou responded.

"I also want to let you know that what I said the night in the lab wasn't true I don't know what I was thinking. I did love you and I still do!" Fiona said to Sonic as she embraced him. But Sonic gently broke out of the hug.

"Fi stop that. I'm engaged to Sally. You had your chance." Sonic said nervously looking away while scratching the back of his neck.

Fiona felt her heart shatter to pieces at hearing that. While she had been able to figure out that he had gotten back with Sally, to hear that they had already gotten engaged was too much. But then there was his choice of words. "You had your chance" which was exactly what she had said to him when she had left him to stay with Scourge.

"No ..." Fiona said in a quiet voice as her eyes started to tear up.

Some time later

After some time evacuations had been completed and the Black Arms had been seemingly driven out of the city and into the forest. Sonic and Shadow had gone their separate ways. While Shirou and his group had gone to help hunt down the aliens. Fiona was still kind of sad about finding out that Sonic was engaged.

"Are you going to be alright?" asked Shirou.

"Don't worry I can still fight." Fiona reassured him.

Fiona had managed to pick up a semi-automatic rifle and a katana of all things along the way from an abandoned weapons crate they had found. Shirou had then taken the time to teach her how to properly use the katana. They also noticed that the forest was crawling with badniks. The badnik squads were comprised of Shadowbots, Egg Pawns and Egg SWATs. The badniks would be regularly seen engaged in skirmishes against G.U.N. troops and the Black Arms aliens.

Shirou preferred to snipe them from afar if possible. Fiona seemed to be in her element within the dense forest where she could outmaneuver her opponents. Bean was fine as long as he got to use his bombs. While Bark could tear down pretty much anything that got in his way.

"I thought Eggman stopped using the Shadowbots and Egg Pawns a while ago?" stated Shirou.

Because if memory served correctly the Shadowbots had went out of use when Robotropolis had been nuked by Station Square and they were later phased out with the use of the Egg Pawns and then those were later replaced by the Egg Swats.

"Well, maybe Eggman's feeling nostalgic." Fiona joked.

Fiona's ear then started to twitch as she heard a familiar sound. A small fwishing sound that came from two tails acting like a propeller. It was the sound that accompanied an 11 year old fox that admired her. He had believed that there was still good in her only to be rewarded with a cruel slap to the face.

"Tails?" mouthed Fiona.

Fiona couldn't help herself as she started to run towards the noise until she finally saw him.

(Tails' POV)

The Tornado had been shot down in the crossfire between Eggman's forces and G.U.N. troops now he had to resort to flying the old fashion way for now as he searched for an outpost.

"Tails!" someone shouted his name.

He turned to look down only to see Fiona waving him down. She had once been the girl of his dreams but now after she had caused him so much grief, especially after more recent events, she had become the girl of his nightmares. She looked so happy to see him. Tails scowled as he went down to land.

"What do you want from me?" Tails got to the point.

"No, Tails it's nothing like that." she said as she put her hands on his shoulders.

"No, it always is with you. You always want to use me to get something you want. You never cared about my feelings. You never cared about Sonic's feelings. You never even cared about the Freedom Fighters!" Tails started to break down as he remembered how he would always bring Fiona things that she liked.

"You hurt Aunt Sally! You even tried to kill Sonic! I-I Hate You!" shouted Tails as he finally let it all out.

"Tails, do you really feel that way about me?" asked Fiona.

Then he felt her wrap her arms around him in a hug. He also felt something wet in his fur. Was she crying too? Tails couldn't help but cry even more as he hugged her back.

"It's okay Tails I'm not going to hurt you anymore, I promise." said Fiona.

The reason Sonic said the same words Fiona said wasn't intentional. Sonic is just dumb sometimes.
