"This changes things, doesn't it?" Evangeline whispered, suddenly in the quiet room.
I tried not to think about it but the possibilities were there laying before us all.
Tom, who was sitting next to us grabbed my hand, linking his long, nimble fingers through my smaller, more delicate ones.
"The possibility is there. Many of them are, but we won't know until we try." I replied as I stared at the hearth.
"What are we waiting for then? Let's go." Sirius piped in, standing from his seat exasperated.
"JAMES POTTER, YOU'RE A DEAD MAN WHERE YOU STAND!!" Lily suddenly shrieked, making the quiet room go tense as she did so.
"Oh fuck me." He muttered, flinching as another shriek filled the air.
Sirius chuckled under his breath, "I wouldn't want to be in your shoes at this moment, mate." Patting his shoulder for a brief moment before disappearing out of the room.
I flinched, twitching my finger to put a silencing spell around the room.
"Oh, that reminds me... " I said, as flicked my fingers again.
I felt Lily's pain begin to increase, knowing what was about to happen later. All the men groaned and grabbed their stomachs.
"W-What did you do, Sophie? Ugh. What in the —" Tom groaned, clutching his stomach as well.
I smiled angelically at him, "Not a thing..." I replied innocently, turning to go sit by the twins.
An hour passed before the medic arrived along with the midwife. Before long James was pacing nervously through the room.
It was now, early in the morning, too early for there to be sun and too late to see the stars in the sky.
The twins hadn't woken up since I had changed their diaper and fed them sometime just after midnight.
I decided to remove the silencing spell just as the sun began to rise in the pink, orange, and purple sky.
"Mr. Potter." The midwife said, walking in slowly to the room, a worried expression on the woman's face.
I stiffened in my seat as I watched her approach James cautiously. Tom moved closer to me, as I did so.
Before anything could happen, I quickly grabbed my bag and began searching for the small box that contained my phials.
When I found the two I wanted, I pushed past either of them and ran to the room where I knew Lily was in.
"What are you doing here?" The medic asked.
"Helping her," I replied, walking briskly towards the bed as Lily looked over at me, tiredly.
Quickly uncorking one of the phials, and putting it to her chapped lips.
She gave me a questioning look before she drank it.
What seemed to be the problem was the baby was wrongly positioned, making it really difficult for Lily to have him. As time passed he seemed to be running out of air.
Knowing this, I gave Lily a concoction I had come up with a while back, to help with this particular problem without hurting either of them.
Lily sighed tiredly as the potion began to do its work, her red hair was sticking to her face and neck.
"Sophie?" She called, her voice barely a whisper.
"Yes," I asked, grabbing her hand gently in both of mine.
"Save Harry." She whispered, clutching onto my hand, weakly.
"Don't worry, both of you will be alright. I promise." I replied as I fed her the concoction in the second phial.
Minutes later, she began having more pains. Causing her brow and nose to scrunch in concentration.
Before we knew it another hour passed by.
It was just a quarter past noon when it finally happened.
A squeal broke through the air. Noting that poor little Harry was slightly born with a violet-blue ring around his mouth but was alright besides that.
The midwife rushed to help Lily as the medic held the tiny baby, holding him in the air, inspecting him.
"Harry." She breathed, smiling.
Harry James Potter, was born at 12:15 in the afternoon, on July 31. Weighing 6 lbs or, 0.429 stone and 17 and 3/4 quarters long.
A full fifteen minutes passed before they had the room cleaned.
After they inspected that everything was alright, and helped Lily deliver the afterbirth, they left the room.
James along with everyone else rushed in as soon as they left.
Awed at how tiny he was, wondering what had happened to make me rush in here the way I did.
I only smiled in response before I shooed everyone except James out of the room to let them have a moment alone.
Just as I walked into back into the room we were all previously in I began to get a feeling in the pit of my stomach.
'How'd everything go?' Tom asked me as I collapsed onto the overstuffed couch.
'Everyone is alright, if you must know.' I thought, closing my eyes as I laid there.
'Maybe you should get some rest before we go look for your friend.' He suggested.
I nodded, humming in response as I felt his arm wrap around my shoulders.
"Get some rest, sweetheart." He softly said.
It was the last thing I heard before I sunk into a deep, calming sleep.
