I woke up after an hour or so of sleep.

Everything around the house had quieted down after Lily delivered Harry.

Only a few creeks could be heard here and there around the house.

I blinked in confusion, not recognizing the room as I sat down on the unfamiliar bed.

"You didn't sleep long." A familiar smooth voice commented, causing me to jump at the sudden noise.

I turned in the direction that I heard the voice come from, to find Tom sitting on a large wing chair in the far corner of the room reading a book.

The twins laying in a large crib, made of dark oak, next to him.

I noticed then that this must have been the room our stuff was brought to.

I quickly climbed off the massive bed, gasping when my feet hit the ground a moment later. It was higher off the ground than expected.

I slipped on my shoes and made my way over to where the twins laid.

"I can't really sleep knowing that there are things to be done. I have to find Newt, time is passing too quickly, I don't know what is going to happen." I replied, picking up Mia, before straightening up and walking back to the bed.

"How is finding the Scamander bloke of any use to us?" He asked, walking

"First of all, his name is Newton, you know this, so stop acting like a jerk. Second of all, he is a lot of use to us. He is very skilled in casting charms and spells. He can also apparate as easily as you or me." I replied unblinkingly.

"Wonderful. Though he doesn't seem like the type of bloke that would join us." He muttered, laying back on the other side of the bed.

"No, I don't think so either. He seems to be the type of guy that fights when need be. Don't you remember he was there two years ago? He fought alongside us, because nobody wants Nikolai to succeed, just think how our world and the muggle world will be if he succeeds." I muttered, running my fingers lightly through Adley's hair.

"I'm not entirely sure if I like the bloke or dislike him." He responded truthfully.

I looked at him in surprise, raising an eyebrow at him in question as I laid Adley down on the bed, to check her diaper.

"Molly and Eva came in here earlier to change their clothes and diapers," Tom explained.

I nodded in response, twisting my engagement ring around my finger with my thumb aimlessly.

Keeping my head down before looking up at him.

"Why is that?" I wondered, still playing with my ring.

He looked back at me, confused. "Why is what?" He asked.

"Why can't you decide if you like Newton or not?" I asked, plainly.

He frowned for a moment, as if lost in thought.

"Oh, that. Well, he was there for you in a time I couldn't be. I'm sure he would help you out, at a moment's notice, if need be. When I broke my promise to always be there for you. It grates on me and makes me glad that you had someone to help you. It bothers me, because I kept wishing it could've been me." He stated, shrugging as he sat down on the bed.

"It could have been you. You would have been there, had you not acted like such a git. Look, he's a friend. He has been since the day we met. He may be a wonderful friend but my heart has always and will always belong to you since the day I fell on your lap and butted heads with you, so you don't have a reason to feel ill will towards that boy." I responded, looking into his eyes as I did so.

Feeling a brief flicker of sadness as I turned my attention back to Adley, who was now playing with her feet in the air.

"Tom, may-maybe it'd be better if I go alone, to—to meet Newt.," I commented.

He was shaking his head at me before I even finished the sentence.

"That's out of the question, Sophia. It's too dangerous to let you go by yourself." He stated, standing up.

Arlo chose to make himself known at that moment, letting out a screech from the crib.

Tom turned to pick him up before he made his way towards the bed to lay him down next to his sister, who had now managed to pull off one of her socks, and now was grasping it in her little fist.

"She's cute, isn't she?" He muttered to himself, as she reached for one of his fingers with both of her hands, a small 'v' appearing between her brows.

I smiled down at both of them before we both heard a whooshing sound.

My head snapped in the direction of the whoosh in time to react. I quickly flicked my wrist causing a shield to appear around us as three books flew towards us.

Adley's hair now had different colors decorating the ends of her hair.

Arlo's eyes seemed to be glowing as he smiled happily, clapping his hands together.

"Merlin's beard. Who— was that— was that her?" He asked, astound.

I nodded, attempting to hide my amusement as I turned to look out the window.

The different colored hues that tinted the sky told me it was sometime in the late afternoon. Meaning, we'd have to hurry if we wished to do something today.

"We have to get going if we wish to find Newt today." I finally voiced.

Tom nodded, keeping his eyes on Adley and Arlo as he did.

"She looks just like you." He sighed as he straightened up.

I only nodded in return once as I slowly made my way over to the dresser, to get my bag.

I then pulled out a long emerald green cloak that was lined with silver before pulling out a small silver chain that held an emerald ring, attempting to remember where the ring was from as I fastened it around my neck.

I had just finished putting the babies to sleep in their crib when a gentle knock was heard on the door.

Tom looked at me questioningly before opening the door.

"I thought you'd want somebody with the little darlings while you two went to see your friend," Eva explained, walking into the room.

I smiled in response, nodding as I slipped my wand into my sleeve.

Tom quickly slipped on his black cloak, slipping his wand into his pocket as he did so.

"Will you be long?" She asked as she sat down in the chair next to the crib on the corner of the room.

"We'll try to be quick. I managed to get in contact with Newt earlier. He'll be expecting us soon." I said as I leaned down to kiss Adley and Arlo's forehead before I head out the door.

"Best of luck." She whispered as she hugged me goodbye.

My mind seemed to be on overdrive as we walked down the street.

Everything seemed to blur around me as we reached the end of Chancery Lane.

I knew Newt was staying in a residence there.

"Sophie," Tom called, patting my arm to get my attention.

"Yes?" I replied.

"We're here." He said, inclining his head in the direction of the brownstone house that sat before us.

I nodded, tapping the stone wall that stood next to the wrought ironed gate. I moved my fingers rhythmically four times before I heard the gate begin to shake.

I touched the handle on the gate once before it disappeared before me.

Before I could blink I realized I had been apparated into the foyer of the house along with Tom.
