bopdog111: Mir proven herself to be a good teacher.

Ulrich362: True, and she was... coerced into becoming a tutor for Julia too.

bopdog111: Well I wouldn't exactly call that coerced.

Ulrich362: You have a point, of course working with Fusion students and teachers is simple... what about the other three mechanics? And yes, that does include Ritual.

bopdog111: And Declan had mentioned she is also an instructor over Xyz too.

Ulrich362: Well that likely won't be for a while, of course there might be a few people for her to meet first.

bopdog111: When Julia is here there are 2 other students to be there. One extra too since Ritual isn't getting thrown under the bush.

Ulrich362: True, so let's see these three other students, enjoy the chapter.

It had been a few days since Mir started teaching with Marco, she was still a bit nervous about her upcoming tutoring session with Julia but at the moment she was sitting in the cafeteria and talking with some of the other teachers.

"So how's class been treating you?" a teacher asked her.

"It's been going pretty well, though Marco's been a huge help with that." Mir admitted.

"You deserve all the credit. You manage to do lessons I wouldn't do myself." Marco admitted with a smile.

"If you ask me the Fusion Course has two amazing instructors... it makes me a bit jealous Mr. Akaba found you an assistant Marco." a third teacher mentioned. "I wouldn't mind one myself."

"Well she's also a side Xyz Instructor too." Marco admitted over.

"You are?" the first instructor asked hearing that turning to Mir.

"Well... I haven't started yet... teaching or even using any Xyz cards to be fair." Mir admitted uncertainly while glaring slightly at Marco. "I know the fundamentals but anything more advanced is beyond me."

"It's what Mr. Akaba informed me over." Marco defended himself raising a hand while rubbing his head.

"Maybe I should..." Mir started only to blink. "Oh, excuse me I think I'm being called."

Hearing that teachers noticed Julia at a table with three boys as she noticed them and was waving to Mir and Marco.

"Good luck Mir." Marco smiled over to her.

Mir rolled her eyes as she walked over. "Julia, is everything alright?"

"We're okay." Julia smiled over. "Just want you to meet my friends."

"Oh, alright then." Mir nodded sitting next to her.

"Sup. Name's Kit Blade." a brown haired sharp toothed boy grinned to her waving. "Best Synchro User."

"Best Synchro user? That's really impr… is that a sword?" Mir questioned noticing the wooden katana on his back.

Kit pulls out the katana placing it on the table. "This is a bamboo blade. Shows my status as a warrior in dueling, and allows me to create large gusts of wind strong enough to blow some Action Cards out of the places there hiding."

"Action Duels again… is there a class on those?" Mir inquired. "I've never had one."

"Julia mentioned you were new. Guess she was right. There's no class on Action Dueling it's one of our main subjects." a purple haired boy with a gold pin in the shape of the Big Dipper asterism shrugged before smirking. "Before I forget name's Dipper, best student at the Xyz Course."

Mir nodded. "That means I'll probably be spending more time with you… I'm helping in the Xyz course starting next week."

"You don't seem to be the type to use Xyz." Dipper looked over at her as she notices he's judging her.

She frowned at that. "I don't, is that a problem?"

"Don't mind him. He has a powerful Deck, and he lets it get to his head." said the last boy which is a brown haired boy with some blue bangs with a shrug. "He's tolerable but terrible at the making friends game if you know what I mean."

"Somehow that doesn't surprise me." Mir admitted nodding as she turned to Dipper. "You shouldn't overestimate yourself, I can think of a card that destroys Xyz or Synchro strategies."

"What card is that?" Julia asked her curiously.

"Star Changer." Mir answered taking out her Duel Disk to pull it up. "Take a look, it's a simple card but it can completely stop Synchro or Xyz Summons."

Star Changer

Quick-Play Spell Card

Target 1 face-up monster on the field and activate 1 of these effects;
● Increase that target's Level by 1.
● Reduce that target's Level by 1.

They looked over from this as Kit narrowed his eyes. "Hate if that happens before I can summon one of my big stars." Dipper growled more then him from this.

"Can also stop Ritual if you don't know what your doing." the brown haired boy admitted over with a shrug before he blinked turning to Mir. "Oh sorry, I didn't introduce myself. I am Hector Belmont, the top student of the Ritual Course."

"We'll Ritual isn't quite as affected since you can use monsters in your hand and you don't need an exact level." Mir admitted hearing that. "Star Changer only works on monsters on the field."

"What about cards like these?" Hector takes out a card showing it to her.

End of the World

Ritual Spell Card

This card is used to Ritual Summon "Ruin, Queen of Oblivion" or "Demise, King of Armageddon". You must also Tribute monsters from your hand or field whose total Levels exactly equal the Level of the Ritual Monster you Ritual Summon.

"That's what I was saying before, Ritual Spells let you tribute monsters on your field or in your hand and since Star Changer doesn't work on monsters in your hand it can't stop that kind of Ritual Summon... it can stop a monster on the field but... well actually that Ritual says it needs to have exactly the right level but not all Ritual Spells work that way." Mir answered only to smile softly. "Actually, I knew someone who was an extremely gifted Ritual specialist."

"There back at the city your at?" Julia guessed as much.

"Something like that, she was an amazing duelist... definitely top of her class." Mir recalled with a smile. "She was really encouraging too."

"Why isn't she with you?" Dipper stared over at her.

"She's still helping out at our school." Mir answered before briefly frowning only to sigh. "Oh by the way, do you mind if I ask you something?"

"Yeah?" Julia asked her curiously.

"Well, is this Sledgehammer I keep seeing advertise the school that popular?" Mir inquired as she indicated a posted of the Sledgehammer a muscular man with purple hair on a nearby wall. "He seems well... kind of all brawn and no brains to be honest."

Dipper rolled his eyes. "He's been the Action Duel Champion for a year now, and had been holding events for LID but he isn't that smart."

"If Yusho wasn't a chicken before that guy wouldn't be here." Kit agreed over with a shrug.

Mir nodded at that before looking down in thought.

"Is something wrong?" Despite Hector's frown from Kit's sentence he looked over towards Mir.

"It's not anything you four need to worry about, it's... well it's personal and as much as I enjoy talking with you..." Mir started shaking her head. "Sorry, do you understand?"

"Yeah you have some teacher duties. Julia just wanted you to meet up with us." Kit nodded over towards them before recalling. "Oh, and the Madame Chairwoman would be coming later today."

"Madame Chairwoman?" Mir inquired hearing that. "Who's she?"

"Mr. Akaba's mother, AKA the main bigshot here." Julia explained over to her.

Mir's eyes widened as she nodded though they noticed she looked slightly upset for a moment. "Oh, well I doubt I'll be meeting someone that important in person. It was nice to meet you four and maybe we can have lunch together and talk again sometime?"

They nodded over from this before Hector warns over to her. "Well just be aware that Madame Chairwoman doesn't tolerate any funny business."

Mir frowned but nodded walking back to the other teachers. They've all chatted over together before Marco noticing her walking back smiled over to her. "So how did your chat with the top students go Mir?"

"It was nice, I think I might want to spend a little more time with them... though Dipper is a little arrogant." Mir admitted chuckling.

"Aye that sounds like him." one teacher admitted over with a shrug. "Despite his attitude he does have the skills to back it up."

Mir nodded before pausing. "Actually, do you mind if I ask you something?"

"Yeah?"

"Well, what mechanic does the CEO use? Is he a Fusion, Synchro, Xyz, or Ritual specialist?" she asked them. "I only spoke with him one time so I couldn't tell what he played."

"We don't know. He is working on a Deck that's suppose to use all of them." one teacher admitted over. "But that should be impossible isn't it?"

"Maybe for an average duelist, but Mr. Akaba is in a league of his own." Marco pointed out.

"Assuming it is possible. Mr. Akaba maybe an exceptional duelist, and someone of his caliber was able to be CEO at a young age however to forge a new Deck that can use all the methods sounds like much for anyone even him." another teacher admitted over rubbing his head. "They'll all clash with each other, and he'll have limited use to what to use. What he probably needs is a way to summon lots of monsters in an instant to get a chance."

"You're not wrong." Marco agreed with a smile.

"What you think?" one teacher asked Mir suddenly for her own opinion.

"Huh?" Mir asked before looking up in thought. "Well, it's a great idea in theory but there's no way to summon multiple monsters at once."

"And for Mr. Akaba to use all of the methods?" another teacher asked.

"Well, it isn't unheard of... though I would think you would need multiple decks to..." Mir started only to blink seeing two suited men approaching the table.

"Pardon me Miss Mir?" one of the suited man asked her.

"Yes?" she asked turning to him. "Is something wrong?"

"The President has requested your presence." the second one answered over.

Mir's eyes widened slightly. "Oh... alright, I'll head up now."

"What does Mr. President want you for?" Marco looks worried over wondering something is wrong. Declan hardly calls for anyone to his office.

"I don't know, maybe he wants to talk about me possibly starting to help the Xyz Course?" she guessed while frowning. 'I wonder if it has to do with Duel Academy.'

The agents gestured her to follow them. Getting up she followed them though she was frowning. They entered an elevator going up towards Mr. Akaba's office to where eventually arriving at the top floor which the agents gestured her to go in. Mir took a nervous breath before walking in. "You wanted to see me?"

Who was in the room was Declan sitting in his desk along with someone behind him looking out to the city which was the woman Declan was talking too the other day.

Mir blinked seeing the woman but sat opposite Declan. "You wanted to see me?"

"First off how was your days on the job?" Declan asked her.

"I think they're going well." Mir admitted hearing that.

"Well now here's someone who wants to meet you." Declan turned over towards the woman behind him.

"How much does she know?" Mir asked glancing at the woman.

"Everything." the woman turned around over with a glare walking over. "You know who I am. The Madame Chairwoman you might've heard about."

Mir's eyes widened slightly hearing that.

"My Declan already informed me about your... change of associations." the woman stated over towards her crossing her arms. "I'll admit, I'm really skeptical to trust someone like you even if you turn your back on Leo, however as Declan is willing to give you a chance I suppose the decision to be made has already been decided."

"In other words you don't trust me... not that I can blame you considering I am a resident of the Fusion Dimension." Mir sighed before closing her eyes. "Should I ask what I need to do to earn your trust?"

"Right now what your up too is fine... and maybe perhaps you can be the perfect training dummy for Riley." the woman cupped her chin in thought while Declan gave a small flinch hearing that which is almost unnoticible.

"Riley?" Mir asked not noticing Declan's reaction. "I don't think I've met him."

"Of course you don't. He's our training Dueling Soldier, perfectly designed to destroy Leo, and Duel Academy." the woman's face grew a smirk as she said this. "Maybe having you as a Fusion Resident could be the very breakthrough he needs to be absolutely ready when the time comes."

Mir's eyes widened as she stood up and glared at the woman. "What? Is that some kind of sick joke!?"

"Hm?" the woman raised an eyebrow over at her direction. "Is there a problem?"

"Yes there's a problem!" Mir snapped angrily before turning to Declan. "Who is this woman, and who's Riley? Does he even know he's being used as nothing more than a tool?"

Declan was looking down before looking over to her. "I should tell you about Riley."

"I'm listening." Mir nodded while glaring at the woman.

"Riley, she's (and yes she) was a child mother gotten. She was from a warzone country, and had no way. The traumatic experience allowed mother to figure she be the right soldier on Duel Academy as she lost her sense of herself." Declan was still looking down as he said this over.

Mir frowned before her eyes widened. "Wait, you said she... you mean your mother adopted her just to use as a weapon?"

Although the woman was irritated for Declan revealing sensitive information she only continued on stating over. "Whatever is needed to bring down Leo, and Duel Academy we will take. Riley is a perfect candidate as the test concluded she won't turn on us, and follow our absolute orders."

"You're sick, using your own daughter as a weapon?" Mir questioned glaring at the woman. "I can't even... you're no different from the monsters at Duel Academy."

Excuse me?" the woman turned over looking irritated. "Declan is already giving you some thin ice so don't think on wasting it."

"Duel Academy is training an army of soldiers and my own father's life's work... his obsession is the creation of these parasites to brainwash people into being mindless slaves!" Mir shouted glaring daggers at the woman. "I'm almost certain that's why my own mother is dead, and now I find out that you're turning an innocent child, who likely lost her entire family to war is just a weapon to you!?"

Declan's head perked up from this turning over towards Mir from this most valuable information that she had just said over towards them. So his father is thinking of using Parasites to control others, and that would certainly be a very bad thing if those Parasites take control of the Lancers. Before the woman can snap he raise up. "Hold up." The two woman looked over towards him as he walked to the elevator stopping turning his head over to Mir. "Come with me."

Mir turned to him before nodding. They arrived at the elevator as Declan pressed a button. Last thing Mir sees before the door closed as the woman glaring at her as the doors shut.

"How can she treat her own child like that?" Mir questioned.

Declan was looking down. "It's awful but you managed to do what I couldn't."

Mir turned to him hearing that.

"When Riley came over, and when mother had that same exact thought, I was also against it. Riley's life before this had already been in great turmoil, and though she is safe in this city, I was also against her being a Dueling Soldier. I wanted to do something but out of respect for my mother, and the consequences it would bring, I kept Riley here so she can be safe." Declan explained over towards her looking up at her. "You've done what I couldn't: Calling mother out on Riley as a weapon. Your better then me from that sense, even with the circumstances that befall you... so thank you."

"Sometimes you need an outside point of view." Mir admitted before closing her eyes. "I'm technically a teacher at LID right? Would you permit some... private tutoring with her?"

Declan stared over towards her before turning toward the doors making his answer. "If you have time to juggle from your one on one tutoring with Julia."

"I'll make time." Mir answered.

The elevator door opened which Mir sees there at a basement floor. Blinking she turned to Declan at that. Declan only gestured to follow him. Nodding she followed him as she looked around the basement. Arriving at a lab room a scientist looked over, and blinked. "Mr. Akaba, good to have you back here? Who's this?"

"This is someone I can trust over to care for Riley."

"Uh, sir are you sure that's a good idea?"

"If I wasn't she wouldn't be here."

The scientist couldn't argue with that logic so he slowly nodded before stating over. "Well the Duel Soldier's condition is stable, he should be ready to see you right now."

Mir clenched her fists at that but didn't say anything. Declan nodded before turning to her, and gestured her to follow him as he walked over. Mir nodded walking in after Declan. Arriving in a square room they see a lone bed where someone is sitting on it wearing a hoodie, and holding a bear in her arms. Mir's eyes widened seeing that as she turned to Declan.

"You should probably talk with her first right, since we've never met." she whispered softly.

Declan nodded walking over, and knelled in front of her. "Riley?"

Hearing her name the girl looked up. "Declan?"

"How are you doing?" he softly asked her.

She paused at that before just looking down. "I'm ok."

"I've brought someone over... an envoy from the Fusion Dimension who wants to join our cause." Declan softly informed her.

Riley's eyes widened slightly as Mir took that as her cue to walk over.

"My name is Mir." she mentioned quietly as she knelt down to avoid standing over Riley.

Declan stepped away to let the two chat.

"Your name's Riley?" Mir asked softly.

She stared over at the older girl before nodding over.

"Well, what Declan told you is true, I'm from the Fusion Dimension... or, I was until I ran from there." Mir explained before pausing. "Can I sit with you and talk?"

Riley stayed silent over before shifting over to give Mir room to sit. Sitting Mir closed her eyes. "I heard from Declan about your family... before you were adopted, can you tell me about them?"

Riley slowly looked down before answering. "...I barely remember them... but they don't really care."

"What do you mean they don't care?" Mir asked. "Your mother and father must have loved you."

"All they cared was the war..." Riley admitted over towards her.

Mir frowned at that before pausing. "Have you ever had ice cream?"

Riley looked up to her blinking confusion on her face. "What's... that?"

"It's a special treat, when I was a little girl my mom used to take me to get some before..." Mir started before frowning and wiping away a few tears. "Well, I know I'm basically a stranger but if you want I could try and... act a little like a big sister and take you to get some, or we could just talk about whatever you want."

Riley stared at her before turning to Declan who nodded over. When he gave his approval Riley grabbed Mir's hand as if showing she accepts the offer. Mir smiled softly. "Come on, I think I saw a small ice cream shop we can visit."

Riley nodded getting up as they headed out Declan following them to head back to his office after following them to the elevator to guide them out.

"So... your from Duel Academy?" Riley shyly asked her as they walked.

"Yes, I am." Mir nodded. "But, I left... I want to stop them just like Declan does."

"Why?" Riley asked a simple question.

Mir shuddered before closing her eyes as she started to explain everything to Riley, about the supposed plan to unite the Dimensions into a Utopia, the Fusion Parasites her own father cared about more than his own daughter, and her growing suspicions that it was her father's actions that led to her mother's mysterious death when she was just a little girl.

Riley's eyes widen when she heard it. As she finished Mir wiped away tears at the memory of her mother before turning to her. "So... that's why I want to stop the Professor and Duel Academy."

"..." Riley looked down before hugging her figuring she needs one.

Mir smiled gently hugging her back. "Thank you."

Soon they came across the shop as Riley's eyes widen in wonder seeing the frozen treats. Mir smiled walking in. "Excuse me?"

"Hm?" the counterguy looks over. "Oh, never seen you two before? You new?"

"Something like that." Mir nodded. "Do you mind if we try a few samples to help decide what to get?"

"Not at all. Which flavors do you want to try first?" the counter guy smiled over.

"Why don't we start with Vanilla, Chocolate, and Strawberry." Mir answered.

Nodding the counter guy takes a small bowl placing small scoops, and handed it to her. Mir smiled taking it and sitting at a small table with Riley. "Go ahead."

Riley stared at the treats before looking up nervous. "But... what if I don't like it?"

"Well, there are more flavors and if you don't that's ok too." Mir reassured her gently.

Riley softly nodded before the spoon, and slowly takes a spoonful, and placed it in her mouth tasting it.

"Well?" Mir inquired curiously.

Riley's eyes sparkled as she tasted the other samples. Mir only smiled seeing that reaction.

Meanwhile in Declan's office...

Needless to say Declan's mother was quite annoyed about both this woman calling her out, and Declan took her to meet her.

That's when the elevator opened but only Declan walked out.

"Where is she?"

Declan looked over towards her. "Out. With Riley."

"What?" the woman questioned in shock.

"She offered to take Riley out for some Ice Cream. I see no reason why she couldn't so I allowed them." Declan explained simply walking back to his desk.

"Riley doesn't have time for such trivial things, we need to prepare her for destroying Leo." the woman pointed out. "Claude, find Riley and bring her back immediately."

Claude nearby looked before looking at Declan who was giving him a look. So Claude turned back over to the woman. "Madame Chairwoman I think we can trust Declan's judgement."

The woman glared at him before frowning. "And you actually trust this supposed traitor to the Fusion Dimension?"

"That still remains to be seen." Declan stated over towards her. "I given her the test, and already she is showing she is trustworthy. It'll still take a while for my complete trust however I'm still at complete guard. Both her, and Riley are relatable so that's why I allowed them out."

The woman frowned at that before looking out over the city.

With Mir and Riley...

"So... I guess your pick is the chocolate peanut butter?" Mir chuckled as she and Riley had tried a few more flavors of ice cream.

Riley blushed a bit from this.

"Two scoops of chocolate peanut butter please." Mir smiled.

"You like that in a cone, waffle cone or bowl?" the counter guy asked over some standard questions.

"Cone this time." Mir answered only to pause. "How much is that?"

"That'll be 3.23." the counter guy answered.

Mir nodded paying before taking the cone and giving it to Riley. Riley takes it starting to lick the frozen treat. Mir smiled at that as she gently closed her eyes.

Ulrich362: Well, it looks like Mir is going to start having a relationship with Riley... and one that starts with ice cream so it'll probably be a positive one.

bopdog111: Not so much with the Chairwoman.

Ulrich362: True, there's definitely tension between them though you can't really blame Mir for her reactions.

bopdog111: Can they make up?

Ulrich362: Only time will tell, and speaking of time... next up will be a time skip... and a very significant duel. See you in the next chapter.

bopdog111: Be sure to review!
