Chapter 50- Discipline and Bitter Memories.

*Flashback*

Bucky watched as his daughter slept. After her being kidnapped by HYDRA and she had just come back into his and Diana's lives, Bucky was almost terrified to have her leave his sight again. Elizabeth hadn't said anything about him being paranoid, but he could tell she could see it and was being polite by not saying it. Bucky gently pushed a lock of her hair behind her ear and kissed her forehead. Elizabeth didn't even wake up, her breathing as soft as it was when she was two. Bucky rested his flesh hand on her forehead and watched as she slept. He had never gotten tired of watching his baby girl sleep and now was no different.

Yelizaveta yawned as she woke up the next morning. The sun wasn't up yet and she pushed the covers off. Years of HYDRA and S.H.I.E.L.D. training had made it where she was always waking up before the sun came up and Steve was the same way. Yelizaveta grabbed a sweatshirt, yoga pants, and trainers. She went into the bathroom and changed her t-shirt and shorts. She pulled her dark hair back into a ponytail and left the bedroom, grabbing her sword and sheath on the way out and her father's dog tags. Yelizaveta stopped to see Sam and Steve at the bottom of the stairs.

"Okay. How did you two know I was going to be coming down?" Yelizaveta asked. They had obviously been waiting for her.

"I've known you for two years, Liz. If you are anything like your pop, you aren't going to give up training even though you aren't a HYDRA or S.H.I.E.L.D. agent anymore," Steve said.

"That's true. No point in letting my training go. And if we are planning to go after HYDRA, then I need my training," Yelizaveta said as she slipped her father's dog tags around her neck and the sword on her back as Steve opened the door.

"I don't know, Liz. To hear Buck talk, he'd just as soon that you didn't come with us to shut down HYDRA bases," Steve said as they took off running in the dark Seattle streets.

"Please. I have been taking care of myself since I was five and the Red Room sent me to Sverdlovsk for my first fight," Yelizaveta said, rolling her eyes.

"Where?" Sam asked.

"It's the name that the KGB gave to Yekaterinburg where the Tsar and his family were killed. They changed names a lot to fit the Communist party. Lenin and Stalin had towns named after them. I didn't pay attention to HYDRA and communist history for nothing. I had nothing better to do than pay attention to my lessons, since girls in the Red Room don't have hobbies or a life," Yelizaveta said as she kept up with Steve and Sam.

"Good thing you know the inner workings of HYDRA. I think we should all be glad you didn't have a life," Sam said.

"That's hardly a good thing, Wilson," a voice said behind them. They all turned to see Bucky running behind them.

"Dad, I guess we thought you were asleep," Yelizaveta said as she broke from running to go to Bucky.

"No. Since I found you, me and your mother haven't been sleeping much," Bucky said, touching his lips to her forehead.

"I see. That explains why you both freak out when I go to the sparring gym in the tower," Yelizaveta said, rolling her eyes.

"That was only once and I wish you'd tell me when you leave my sight," Bucky said, tousling her hair gently with his flesh hand.

"Really? If I did that, then I'd have less of a life than I did with HYDRA and the Red Room," Yelizaveta said.

"Funny. Please do what I tell you," Bucky said.

"The thing is, Sergeant, I am not my mother. I don't have to," Yelizaveta said, suddenly wishing she could yank her tongue out for that careless remark. Her father gave her a hard look.

"One, don't call me that, and two, yes you do. You are still my daughter," Bucky said sharply as he gripped her arm in his metal hand.

"Easy, Buck," Steve whispered softly. Thankfully, Yelizaveta had serum enhancements where she could hear whispers. Bucky released her arm and took a breath.

"I'm sorry, Elizabeth. Did I scare you?" Bucky asked, resting his warm flesh hand on her cheek, his fingertips tickling her face gently.

"Not really. I haven't been scared of people since I was eight years old and Barton saved me. I wasn't even scared when Barton was being controlled by Loki and Pierce had sent you on our tails," Yelizaveta said, looking at her father.

"The basement in Moscow was the last time?" Sam asked.

"Something like that. The men in the Red Room liked abusing the girls. I swore they would never touch me. I saw too many of their victims and it didn't take a genius to figure out what those disgusting cretins did to them and I earned the right to be terrified of them," Yelizaveta said as they started running again.

"I can see why you have trust issues," Steve said.

"Yep. Clint, you, and Phil Coulson were the only ones I ever found myself trusting," Yelizaveta said.

"Who's Phil Coulson?" Bucky asked.

"Me, Nat, and Clint all got our orders from him. He was our handler. The last mission he ever gave me was when me and Romanoff had to stop gunrunners in Russia. I hated the missions going into Russia and the fact that the leader flirted with us both. He also was an idiot. I don't feel bad that me and Natasha beat him up," Yelizaveta said.

"Disgusting too?" Sam asked.

"Yeah. He tied me and Natasha to chairs in an empty warehouse in Silensky Plaza. Coulson called and I said that me and Nat were working and that moron was giving us everything. He said he didn't give everything in the "I'm stupid" tone," Yelizaveta said, rolling her eyes.

"I bet he learned never to pick a fight with you, Liz," Steve said dryly.

"More or less. I may have been only twelve, but I earned being a Winter Soldier honestly," Yelizaveta said.

"Can't argue with that. You are pretty good in a fight," Steve said.

"Well, years of practice put to good use. I learned how to fight when I was five and I have Soviet slugs, a Ninja throwing star, and a knife injury in my back to prove it." Yelizaveta said.

"Ever thought about having a doctor look at those?" Sam asked.

"The Red Room doesn't get doctors to treat injuries you might get while fighting," Bucky said.

"Bingo," Yelizaveta said, indicating Bucky with her hand.

"Unbelievable," Sam muttered.

"The truth is often stranger than fiction, Sam. Especially when it comes to HYDRA and the Red Room doing every thing they can to make you wish you were dead before the age of 10," Yelizaveta said.

"That I remember as I trained some of the girls in the Red Room," Bucky said.

"That is odd. How come I never saw you? I think I would have remembered the mask and metal arm," Yelizaveta said.

"I trained Widows more than I did Winter Soldiers and by the time you went there I wasn't training anyone there. The last time I went to the Red Room was two or three months after Karpov kidnapped you. If you were there, they hid you from me. Remember they had me and your mother thinking you were dead," Bucky said as they entered the gate at the house.

"Right. Forgot about that," Yelizaveta said as they entered the house.

"Forgot what?" Clint asked with a yawn as he came down the stairs.

"Nothing, Barton. Just something I forgot from my Red Room/Heil HYDRA days," Yelizaveta said, rolling her eyes.

"Okay, now you're making fun of HYDRA," Clint said.

"I know. I have been mocking them for years. They can't kill me," Yelizaveta said as they went into the dining room.
