A few minutes would pass before the next group. The destruction from Lynn's bomb took time to repair. However, Izuku was surprised at how little time it took for the school construction workers to fix the destroyed facade of the bank. The stone and brick were laid in their slots with the fires extinguished. Soon, the wall was nearly complete with a fresh coat of paint sprayed onto the surface. Only the street needed to be resurfaced along with the petulant smoke still floating above the city.

Izuku was about to discuss the footage of the first group's turn, but the cacophony of camera flashes and reporters relaying the footage to the audiences at home interrupted him. He demurred and glared over to Hawks who was speaking to one of the reporters.

"I think the kids are very promising," he said into a microphone. "One of the next top heroes in the world is in this class, and-."

"Can we have them leave please," Izuku whispered into Hawks' ear. "I'd like to teach my class."

Hawks sighed. He bit his lips and clapped his hands together.

"Alright, everyone," Hawks announced. "All press please head to the lobby. I will speak more then."

The reported shouted out protest, but Hawks ushered them out the doorway with his feathers wisking towards each person. The shape tips jabbed at them which caused a cloud of pain stabbing away at the press. They rushed out of the door with Hawks flying behind them.

He turned back around and raised an eyebrow at Izuku. Hawks' face became more solid and even frigid towards Izuku. Then, he flew away towards the elevators.

Izuku leaned back on the center console. As much as Hawks loved attention, he wanted to actually teach the students. He grabbed a joystick and reversed the footage all the way to beginning of the heist. The three of group A stood before the bank.

"Alright Class," Izuku said to a wide array of interest within the students. "Who here can t-."

"We're here."

Izuku's jaw dropped when he saw the two Pro-Heroes enter the room. Bursting through the spacious doorway, James brushed away a shard of glass from his luscious black hair. He slumped into the room with his costume torn and tattered. His hand in his pockets, James dragged his feet over the floor causing an annoying squeak.

Next to him, Momo walked in with her "bank manager" suit still pristine and intact. The black fabric cling to her body with her large black hair tall and vibrant on her head. She smiled at Izuku, her charcoal eyes still the same after all these years. His heart skipped a beat at the surprise of seeing these people from his past. It has been years since he interacted with anyone from UA, so he perked up and grinned back at Momo.

"James, Momo," Izuku said. "I didn't expect you two. I thought I had another hero lined up for this Group."

"That dumb chicken called us both up a few days ago," James grunted when he pulled a small splinter from his arm. "He said he would help me pay off the court fees for what happened with Lloyd in Edmonton. I have to fly back to Miami tonight or my ankle bracelet will go off and I'm arrested again." James pulled up his pant leg to reveal the black monitor blinking a green light clasped to his leg.

"Well…I'm glad you're doing great!" Izuku said. "I'm so happy to see you, and I know Miami is very grateful to have you as one of their Pro-Heroes."

"I am the only Pro-Hero," James shouted. "Everyone else are just dumb tadpoles."

"Well, regardless of what happened in Edmonton, I'm really proud of you," Izuku said. "And thanks for coming to this. I kinda hoped you wouldn't have lost, though. I thought I taught you better."

"That was a low blow," James yelled and wagged his fist in the air. "That student of yours caught me at a bad time. I just got off the plane and I have allergies and also the time zones have made me tired!"

Izuku walked past James and approached Momo. He grabbed her wrist and directed her towards the emergency stairwell to the side of the room.

"James, why don't you talk to the class for a moment," Izuku said. "I need to discuss something with Yaoyarozo."

Izuku walked away with Momo in tow. He smiled to himself while James protested behind him.

"I don't wanna talk to the class," James shouted. "I want a re-match with that dumb robot! One-on-one! Mano-a-Mano!"

Izuku and Momo disappeared into the stairwell. The curious class surrounded the taller James like they were examining a strange statue. He paused and looked over the younger students who encircled him in front of the television screens.

"What?" James shrugged. "Whaddy'all want?"

Melanie brushed back her pink hair and took a courageous step out of the circle. Her bright eyes sparkled at James, and she stuck out her hand for a firm handshake.

"Greetings, Mister Guzman," Melanie said. "My name is Melanie Wicker, and I hail from the beautiful Great White North also known as…Canada!"

James' eye twitched.

Izuku shut the door behind him. He stood in front of Momo in the narrow steel stairwell. A hum emanated from the vents traversing the building with a cool breeze hissing upward towards the rooftop. The warm amber lights buzzed in the ceiling with the echo from the door bouncing over the concrete walls.

Izuku could not help but smile. Part of his jocular attitude was the sound of James shouting at his class from beyond the heavy emergency door. However, he was also looking at Momo who clasped her hands in front of her hips with a content sigh.

"Yaoyorozu," Izuku said. "It's been so long since I saw you!"

"Well, I hope you're okay with seeing me more," Momo said. "Since I am a professor now."

"That's great," Izuku said. "When did you decide?"

"Hawks brought me up to speed with this new school a week ago," Momo said. "I was on a yacht just off the Amalfi coast when my assistant got the call. He told me the whole story."

"Oh," Izuku took a step back with a puzzled purse of his lips. "He did?"

"Yes," Momo said. "About how you owe all of those awful taxes from the money you made off that film! And I thought you could use the moral support of having a familiar face here."

Izuku's mouth dropped agape. Momo knew nothing about the strange disappearances of people's quirks. Hawks lied to her about why he was in Detroit. He imagined that Momo had no need to know about the mission, but Izuku wished that a more flattering lie had been told about him. Regardless, his muscles relaxed as he unclenched his fists.

"So, you took a job here? Just for me?"

Momo let out a surprised squeak and shifted her gaze away from Izuku. She stroked her hair and looked down in a bashful way. "No! I mean, I didn't…not…move here because of you. He just offered it to me, and I've always wanted to teach since I retired. And I know I haven't done enough to give back to the less-fortunate."

"Right," Izuku cleared his throat. He also averted his gaze and stared down at his shoes. "So that's why you moved all the way over here."

"I'm not moved in yet," Momo gave off a nervous chuckle. "The house I closed on is completely empty until the movers come in a month. It takes a while to empty out my mansion in Japan. So, I'm renting a condo by the waterfront."

Izuku laughed. Momo's casual references to the massive wealth she and her family possessed had not changed after all these years.

"What?" Momo asked. "It's just that property around here is cheap, and I can always sell it if I don't stay long."

"No, it's nothing," Izuku wiped at his eye. "It's just been a while. Since I've been with someone from UA like this. I don't really keep up with much of them."

"Well, there's not as many as there was on graduation day. Is there?"

Izuku's smile erased when he saw Momo look back down to the brown tile on the floor. Fortunately, the other members of his class seemed to be thriving in their new environments. However, there were two notable exceptions to that rule. One in particular had a close relationship with Momo, and Izuku saw her fingers fidget with the empty spot at her ring finger. Squinting, he saw the faint outline of white skin imprinted into her otherwise tanned hands.

"You're gonna be great, Yaoyorozu," Izuku said. "This will be a very good school year."

Momo brushed back her hair and made eye contact with Izuku's green hues. She straightened up and perched her head upward with a confident gait.

"You're right", she said. "I think it will be. As long as your former student doesn't attempt to murder your new class."

The shouting from James erupted louder from beyond the door. Izuku, in his stupor at speaking to Momo, had funneled out James' screams. While he had gotten use to it after all these years, the new class may be less familiar.

"I should get him," Izuku flashed a sheepish grin and placed a hand on the knob.

"Actually," Momo stepped forward and blocked his way to the door. "I wanted to know if you wanted to come by my place tonight. I have a lot of food, and it would be nice to have someone familiar for dinner."

"Oh," Izuku swallowed and looked away from Momo. "Uh…sure. Yeah, that won't be a problem. Just text me the address and I'll be there, Yaoyorozu."

"Izuku," Momo said. The man's breath hitched at the way his name flowed off her tongue. "You can call me Momo."

Izuku felt his heart patter hard in his chest. He covered his mouth and crossed his arms. "Right. Momo. That is your name."

Ignoring the strange feelings, Izuku brushed past Momo back into the room. He pushed through the door to find his class still surrounding the angry Pro-Hero standing in the center. He grit his teeth and marched to the gaggle of students standing in a circle around James and the strange pink-haired Canadian student who had a finger in the air with a content smile.

"I had to knock down that building," James yelled. "It was about to fall on my favorite deli!"

"It was a historical place," Melanie spoke. "And destroying historical landmarks is, of course, a gross violation of Code 420 of the American Heroes Association Statutes."

"Your face is a gross violation!"

"Alright, thank you James," Izuku grabbed James' arm and pulled him back from Melanie. He gnashed his teeth like a rabid dog at the girl with Izuku struggling to hold him back in his arms. "I hope you taught this class a very valuable lesson about anger management."

"I don't have anger problems!" James screamed to the point that the windows shook behind the class.

"The next group is Ayumu, Ivan, and Melanie," Izuku wrestled James to the stairwell. "I'll be back in a few minutes. When I'm back, we will begin."

Izuku pushed the door with his back. He flung James into the stairwell and slammed the door. The class stared at the closed door as a loud pounding emanated from the steel portal. The frame shook with the imprint of a knuckle punched into the door.

Soon, the yelling devolved back into the quiet hum of the computer monitors in the viewing room. A few of the students gave one another strange looks.

"Who was that guy?" Aiden asked.

Sam The Dog barked. He sauntered over to Merle's feet and nudged on the quiet boy's cowboy boot. Merle scratched at his boot, but Sam knocked his head into the leather surface again.

"Sam, if you gotta go outside, you can," Merle said. "I gotta stay here and start strategizing with the others."

Sam barked in an annoyed tone.

"I'm gonna keep you informed," Merle said. "But I reckon I'd come up with a plan and let you know. So go outside and handle your business."

Sam barked.

"Don't talk to me like that, mister," Merle said. "I got one of those snacks you like. I'll give it to you when you get back."

Sam wagged his tail. He did another backflip and somersaulted towards the door. Rolling like a yo-yo, he arrived at the entrance of the room and strolled out into the ornate office hallway.

At the elevator, Sam hopped and hit the button on the gold-plated switch with his paw. The elevator let out a ding, and the doors opened.

Sam crawled inside and booped his nose onto another button that illuminated the wall. The doors closed, and the dog sat in the center of the elevator waiting patiently for the doors to open again.

Ding! The door slid to reveal a white hallway. Sam treaded out and rounded the corner to reveal a hospital wing with stretchers lining the walls. A nurse paid no mind focusing on her clipboard with Sam wading past the nurses and doctors.

Sam snaked past the legs of doctors to turn to the hallway leading to a large bay window. Next to the window were stairs leading to the same emergency staircase at the top office floor.

Just as Sam made it to an empty stretcher, the doors burst open. James flew out and fell onto the tile floor. Behind him, Izuku closed the door behind him. Sam stopped and perched himself behind the stretcher while staring at the two.

"What is with you," Izuku said to the boy laying on the floor. "You almost killed Leon."

James ticked his tongue and brushed the dirt off his pant legs. "Excuse you. I got thrown through a window. You should be shouting at him!"

"I'm not shouting at you!" Izuku shouted. "I just didn't think you'd come over here and beat up my students!"

"You were fine when I did it before graduation," James picked himself up and dusted away at his pant legs. "Why stop now?"

Izuku blew out a deep breath. "I just thought you were rough. That's all."

"How the hell are they going to learn?" James said. "You were tough on me. So they can handle it."

"I didn't beat you up."

"Okay, whaddya want me to do," James said. "Go back in time and stop myself from coming here? I did what I had to do, and now that Leon kid knows what's coming. Besides, he seems like he can handle it as long as his quirk doesn't go away."

Izuku stopped. His eyes grew to the size of dinner plates. He stared at James like a ghost had appeared out of nowhere.

"What? What are you-?"

"That boy's quirk," James said. "It's not real, isn't it?"

Izuku's worry morphed into confusion. He furrowed his brows and examined James' stern face. "What?"

"That Leon kid," James said. "I looked into him. Son of the guy that put a lot of money into the school. Turns out to be a robot mad e by said crazy parent. Sound familiar?"

"James, all of you are like that?"

"Yeah, well, him more so," James said. "His quirk isn't real. There's something in him that doesn't make it organic. He's a creation."

"Leon is a robot?"

"I don't know," James said. "But his quirk isn't real. It was created by man. And I think I know which man."

Izuku rubbed his face in exasperation. "James, it was really nice to see you. But I have a lot going on. And I need to focus. This is a distraction, so if you could just please go home, I'd appreciate it."

"You're ignoring this at your own risk," James said. "Something is going on here, and it looks similar to-."

"To what, James? To what happened to us?"

"The others are getting suspicious," James said. "We've all been talking. We heard rumors about that Lemillion guy. Why he killed himself. People are saying he lost his quirk. He just woke up one day and poof."

Izuku glanced out the window. Across the street, the construction workers towed away the crane used to fix up the final destroyed remnants of the bank.

"People are complicated James," Izuku said. "I don't have all the answers yet. But I will soon. Now please go home. You are dismissed."

"But I wan-."

"You are dismissed!" Izuku said. He strode past James and into a hospital room.

Sam stayed out and watched James give out a deep grunt. He spun around and trudged out of the area with his hands in his pockets.

However, he stopped right at edge of the stretcher. He turned and looked right at where Sam sat. He stared at the beady eyes of the dog and squinted. They were in a battle it appeared to Sam.

James shook his head. "Whatever. Must be seeing things," he said to himself. He hunched down the hall and over to the elevators for the exit.

Sam tilted his head in curiosity. What did James mean by that? How could he think he was seeing things just from him?

Then, a hand ruffled over his brown mane.

"Don't worry," a quiet voice said. "They didn't see either of us.

A quick hum brushed over Sam's ears, and his head whipped backwards to find a soft, small hand on the back of his neck.

"Don't worry," the stranger said. "They didn't see either of us."

Sam spun his whole body around to find…

Absolutely nothing.

Until the hum wafted over his ears again.

The moment he blinked, a girl materialized out of thin air! Where there stood no one, a girl in a tight pink jumpsuit was crouched down and smiled at Sam. A small, heart-shaped face with dark teal eyes and olive skin shining from the fluorescent lights above. Long strawberry blonde hair rained down behind her back with two strands framing her face and parted slightly towards her right. She winked at him.

Then, she grabbed the dog and cradled him into her arms.

Sam was just about to bark, but the girl clasped his snout and squeezed it closed around her arm. She pinned him to her side, and then another hum rang over the two of them.

Had the nurse walking down the hall shown up a half second sooner, she would have seen no girl nor a dog. Just an empty hallway.
