I will repeatedly say this: This is not my primary story, so I'm trying to just get this out so it can leave me alone. If it doesn't match with cannon, I honestly don't care. However, if it is glaringly obvious I might fix it. The whole thing about this is that akumas and ghost can possess things, that's why this story even started, and trying to make it work with lore. Can a ghost possess a kwami? I'm gonna say no, because kwami are made of their own contained energy.
Adrien knocked once on Danny's door with no answer, assuming he's busy or out for a flight, he returned to his room. As he settled to do his homework, Plagg flew out. From afar he watched his chosen write down what he knew but began moving the pen around as he stared off into the cloudless sky outside.
"There is no akuma, kid." Plagg startled Adrien causing him to turn in his chair.
"I know." he looked at him as he took out a scrap of paper and began to note down two names, Vlad and Plasmius. Down below he'd wrote down the facts that Danny and his friends had said, behaviors that he was told.
He felt that he was about to make A connection. Easier than trying to figure out Ladybug's identity. Just as a possible, disbelieving thought entered his brains, loud music came from outside. Looking out, a person was hopping light post to light post dressed in a uniform with music notes attached. Jotting a quick note on the paper he called his transformation and leapt out the window.
From afar he could see people marching down the streets, each with their own instrument. In the park were different eras of music together in a concert. Modern and traditional styles separate and together. On the side of his hearing he could hear classical while the opposite he could also hear soundtracks. The differences came together weirdly making him shake his head. Jumping to higher ground to clear his hearing, he heard the distinct sound of his lady's yo-yo attaching to the beams of the Eiffel tower. He met her there when she landed.
"No Phantom?" he shook his head, "A teacher got upset that the music departments funding got cut to the point that it could be removed to save money."
"I could see more than the teacher getting upset."
Ladybug used her bug phone to zoom in on the music notes, "Each note is a student that got upset."
"Making the akuma stronger." Chat smiled over to her, "Can I at least serenade you to my heart's content?" he watched closely at Ladybug's glare, frowning at the amount of times he ignored her while attempting to have a chance.
"Your heart will be out of tune with mine." she nearly growled.
"Of course yours will be the melody while mine will be the harmony." I will support you.
Ladybug rolled her eyes at him and swung off with a small serene smile, he followed.
After the fight, and a lot less flirting mid-battle on his part, he returned home still to an empty room and no Danny. Plagg zoomed to the cheese stash as Adrien messaged his guest.
"Have you begun to stop chasing after the bug?" Plagg asked, swallowing the cheese whole.
"No, I'm just not going to be as persistent." he fell backwards on his bed as he played with the phone in his hand. "Danny pointed out that she could grow to resent me."
"Speaking of the halfa, where is he?"
Noticing the time, he turned to his kwami, "I'll ask about his whereabouts to Nathalie."
As dinner commenced unusually late, he Nathalie walk through the door. "Uh, Nathalie. Do you know where Danny is?"
"Vlad has picked him up to show him what it takes to run a business."
He stared as she walked out, something immediately felt wrong to him. Barely being able to fully eat, he rushed to his room. From the corner of the paper he was writing on, Vlad=Plasmius, suddenly made a lot of sense. There was still some doubt.
Sitting down at the computer, he sent a call out to Sam, Tucker, and even Jazz, hoping one of them would answer.
"Dude, I thought we would schedule these times." Tucker whined half asleep as Sam got on herself.
"Rich boy, there be a reason behind this call."
"Vlad has Danny." he tried to stay calm, but a slight tremor escaped.
"Are you sure?"
"The last time I saw him was before lunch today and Nathalie said that Vlad picked him up to show him how to run a business."
The sound of keys being tapped came from Tucker, "According to the tracker we placed on his phone, he should be in his room."
Adrien ran into the guest room and returned with the phone and no halfa.
"Here's what we'll do, me and Tuck will come by-"
"No." Adrien interrupted, "Chat noir will meet you near the top of the Eiffel tower."
"Alright. We'll meet up with Chat Noir near the Eiffel tower to get Danny back. It's going to be a few hours, around ten we'll be there."
After the screen blacked out Adrien paced his room. "It all makes sense." calling upon the transformation, he roamed along the rooftops unable to stand still. So focused on his thoughts he didn't see or hear Ladybug approach, only noticing her when he was forced to stop by her yo-yo.
"Chat Noir, you've been out here for about two hours. Are you okay?"
"No, nothing is okay. Phantom has been ghost-napped."
Ladybug's eyes widened as she called back her yo-yo. "By who?"
"Vl-Plasmius." he quickly covered up.
"What do we do?!" she exclaimed, hands on the side of her head as she tries to think of a solution.
"Two of his friends are coming to help."
"Where?"
"Eiffel Tower."
"When?"
"Around ten."
"That's still a little over a half hour."
"I know, and I can't sit still with knowledge of Phantom being in trouble."
"Then let's go."
They both hop, swung, and glided toward the tower just as a green disk appeared in the sky with a flying machine appearing out of it. The object hovered but the top of the tower where Ladybug appeared first. The goth reminded her of Juleka while the African American reminded her of Nino, despite what was happening, they seemed calm. As if it was just another Tuesday for them.
Chat appeared as the window slid up to reveal the two, he jumped in as they pulled out a boomerang like the Australians used.
"I'm coming with." Ladybug stated, not leaving any room for argument.
"We'll probably need all the help we can get. We don't know what will be waiting for us this time." Sam relented as she to the device to find Danny."
"This time?" the heroes echoed.
"It's not the first time Plasmius kidnapped Phantom. I don't think this is the last time either."
Outside the limits of Paris, the tracking device slammed into the door of another large home. Tucker landed the speeder around the corner of the building.
Ladybug took a look at the mailbox to see Vlad Masters on the side. Chat saw this as well and turned towards Phantom's friends, "They're the same aren't they?"
Hesitantly the two nodded at him. Ladybug looked between them, "What don't I know?"
"It's not our place to say." Sam crouched down to the door handle and picked the lock without success.
"It's not fun being left out of the loop, is it?" Chat goaded, causing Ladybug to grimace.
Sam sees a white figure in the windows, and turns pushing Tucker to the side into the bushes. Chat and Ladybug looked to the techno-geek groaning in pain, Ladybug giving the goth a questioning look who hissed out for them to hide.
Grabbing her partner's arm she pulled him along to the opposite side of Sam and Tucker. Just when they hid, Vlad Masters opened the door, expecting someone it seems, as he had a check in hand along with a small notepad. Looking back and forth around the area his eyes narrowed before shutting the door.
Four heads popped up from where they were, Tucker sighing in relief. Sam looked into the home without finding a single person, she turned the handle on the door and found that it's been locked. Raising her leg, she prepared to kick the door in, when Ladybug opened the window instead.
Ladybug was the first to climb inside, followed by Chat. "What are we looking for?"
"A hidden stairwell." Tucker stated, fiddling with odds and ends, "It's Vlad's thing, according to Danny."
Chat rook to the fireplace, while Tucker looked at a series of light switches. Ladybug and Sam, searched through the out of place bookshelf.
Chat gasped when the fire turned itself off and began to shake. "Uh, guys?" he turned to see Ladybug pulling back on a book spine to reveal a switch. The fireplace, disappeared below the floor, showing the entrance to a hidden chamber.
The steps themselves looked carved as the interior walls only lit the staircase, and then did it do something strange. The wall turned from stone to steel, the room opened up into a small lab, and to the side was something glowing.
"Danny?" Sam whispered. Her anxiety rose within when there had been no response.
With the help of his night vision, Chat found the light switch right next to him.
"Oh my god, Danny!" Sam shouted, once the lights turned on, seeing her friend inside a containment unit.
"Who would do such a thing?" Ladybug gasped, staring at everything.
Tucker moved to the controls, trying to figure out how to release Danny without tripping some form of alarm. To his right inside a small container, was a blob of ecto-plasm and next to that was a black and purple butterfly. "Ladybug." he glanced back catching her eyes and pointed to it.
"An akuma?" she asked, and tried to lift the lid. Unable to simply remove it, she swung her yo-yo around and smashed the glass, releasing the tainted creature. As she performed the purification, Tucker found the computer and began to search the files in curiosity. He found what Vlad had been doing. "Sam!" he shouted, frantic, eyes widening. Ladybug and Chat also looked over his shoulder to find a video.
"Subject 29B. A fresh sample of ectoplasm straight from the ghost zone to absorb the magic from the akuma, proving neutral response." Vlad stated as he placed the akuma with the green substance. "The akuma has accepted the ectoplasm."
Then the ectoplasm wilts, almost dying, as both destroy itself. "Subject 29B has failed. The akuma can feed from the energy that ectoplasm creates, but without any emotions it can not transform."
Then the second video starts.
"Subject 32A. A low sentient ghost with neutral existing emotions." the bat like ghost, who struggles inside the cage, accepts the akuma.
"What is this?" it spoke in a chitter.
"A power source you can keep as long as you stay loyal to me."
"Accepted." the bat's wings grow larger, and fangs sharper, deadly talons appeared. The creature settles itself on a perch, staring out at Vlad, as if waiting on order.
"Subject 32A. Connection proven true. As long as subject is loyal before transformation, it's will can be harnessed."
"This is wrong." Ladybug glared. "What does this have to do with Phantom?" she glances back to the caged ghost, only startling back when she caught Chat's dark glare. "Chat?"
"He wants to control him." he hissed like his name sake.
"Again." Sam and Tucker groaned, one seething, the other annoyed.
"Wait, again?" Ladybug asked, "Who is Plasmius? What's his goal?"
Tucker spoke as he finally found the release button, but for the wrong chamber. "Plasmius wants power, and that's to waste Phantom's dad, marry his mom, and make him his apprentice slash son."
Chat's eyes hardened, remembering who Danny is under the hero costume. Every plan that Vlad had entered his thoughts and he grew angry. Stalking toward the chamber, he whipped out his baton and shattered the glass.
The sound of the glass breaking had Sam, Tucker, and Ladybug gapping in shock, the bug more so out of his lack of restraint.
Tucker managed to find the right button for the chamber just as Chat disintegrated one of the cuffs.
Catching Danny as he slumped forward, "He shouldn't still be out like this." Sam stated, her and Tucker slipping his arms over their shoulders.
"Can we leave before he returns?" Tucker pushed, trying to move them along.
Just as they got themselves and a still unconscious Danny back upstairs, a very angry Vlad Masters awaited them.
"Mr. Masters," Ladybug began, trying to be professional. "Danny Fenton has been missing from the Agreste residence. We're just taking him back."
"You won't be going anywhere." his eyes flashed bright red before a black ring appeared around his waist, transforming him into Plasmius. His hands lit up pink, firing a blast at them.
Ladybug remained in shock but Chat spun his baton, surprisingly shielding them.
"Bug! Snap out of it!"
Her blue eyes cleared, and she reacted to the situation, the two of them shielding the three behind them until they made it to the entrance. Tucker left to get the speeder.
"What did you do to him?!" Sam glared, growling to Vlad as he tried to rain fire on the heroes.
He laughed, "I did what I had to."
Chat glanced to his ring to see one more minute, Ladybug caught his fear. Then Vlad was flying to them, but blasted into the wall by a green beam. The two looked back to see Tucker helping Sam get Danny inside.
"Come on." Ladybug pulled her partner up.
Once they were safely situated, Tucker flew off, and Ladybug turned around last minute as Chat's transformation fell.
He glances to Sam and Tucker who weren't shocked, "You knew?"
"We assumed." Tucker stated from the controls.
"Clueless here, said to trust both Adrien and Chat Noir." Sam let him know, "It's why we didn't really argue about another random civilian know."
"You're acting like this happened before."
"Some guy named Wes. No one believe that Danny is Phantom, he tries to reveal him anyway."
Seeing the Eiffel Tower in the distance has them feeling calmer, but an explosion has Ladybug reaching for the door.
"Let me out!" she tells them, Tucker reaches for the release switch. She jumps out without fear of her own safety and swings away.
Sam and Tucker look to Chat.
"I should at least stay and help get him inside."
"Dude, don't worry." Tucker waved him away, "It's not the first time we've done this."
Chat hesitates.
"Go help Ladybug, who knows how long the akuma has been active."
With a nod he also leapt out.
One priority story, which is a massive crossover with Supernatural, readers that are part of that fandom, are well aware of it. Once I get a few chapters on that done at a time, I will update this one.
It's been a long week with work. Tournament 4th of July weekend, followed by a midweek tournament (it's never happened before), and there's another tournament this weekend. My hours are never the same more than two days in a row, which is how I like it. Makes writing a little spontaneous.
