Just one Choice, makes all the difference.
Just before we continue to the story, I just want to answer a few questions/concerns in the reviews.
SurroundedByPlotBunnies, Jester/Isaiah, does NOT, have Gamer powers, But he does have something sealed inside of him. As for 'what' really hasn't been solidified as of this point in the story, but I do have a few things in mind that I would like to give to him. Other than that, thank you for the detailed review and an extra idea. I hope you continue to enjoy this story, along with everyone else who likes this quirky story. And don't worry about the story being derailed. The options that I have are just more of moral dilemmas that will just have little to no effect on the story I have planned out. Maybe for a filler side quest that is planned out, but nothing really big.
Iron Beagle. Ok so… (reads comment) …Uh wait, did I read that right? (Rereads comment again) …The fuck?! (Rereads comment one last time) … Ok, that's what I thought it said… Ok so a few things wrong with that statement, but I will get one thing out of the way that is your opinion, and I can't complain about.
You don't like weak characters who have a big mouth who get pushed around, I understand that, and I get where you are coming from.
BUT calling my character, in your words, "a simp asshole." That lets Nora push him around Is completely arbitrary, ludicrous, and above all, completely wrong and inaccurate. Not once have I ever written anything that relates to 'simping' the only part that I did that was remotely like that, was a sentence at most, and it was before he had a distain for her, and that was in the first chapter. I mean, he OPENLY calls her a bitch.
As for the 'let her push him around and hit him all the time.' part…
Let me put it this way. Let's say that Isaiah gets fed up with Nora's remarks and throws a punch at her. Nora would immediately catch the fist, knee Isaiah in the gut, dislocate his arm for the fun of it as Nora picks Isaiah up and throw him over her shoulder judo style within a span of 3 seconds, the moment Isaiah would register the pain, Nora would have already relocated his arm, and kick him in the gut for trying to fight back as she spits on him to add insult to injury.
And that is her going easy on him.
And Isaiah KNOWS this without even really fighting Nora because he knows better than to fight a losing battle. Nora has abnormal strength and far surpasses Isaiah physically. So, the only way for him to fight back without being 'badly' beaten to a bloody pulp, is to play the 'kid' card and complain like a little bitch. And he still gets beaten up, though not as bad.
But Everybody has a beginning to their story, and you are just seeing the beginning of what Isaiah is. He will be a badass in his own way in time, albeit not as much of a change in personality, but not much as a pushover.
As for you other guys who just left inspiration for me to continue on, thank you for the support and I hope you will continue to enjoy the story and leave more inspiration for me to continue onwards with this train wreck of a story that I wish to tell.
Without further a due, let's get started on this story!
-Nora's Group-
The three Nords quietly entered the Barrow and heard some loud talking and laughing going on the opposite side of the room.
"They seemed to not have spotted us yet. Shall we sneak by and gather some information, or just rush them. We haven't seen Jester yet, and I am starting to worry about him." Hadvar spoke in a quiet voice.
"Depending on the numbers, I am still catching my breath from before, so I would think that would be best." Ralof replied as Nora nodded seemingly unaffected from the battle.
Going over some rubble sticking to the shadows, they were able to spot 2 bandits roasting some skeever meat over the fire having a conversation.
"Can you believe that asshole? Sticking up for that green numbskull of all people. I really wished I had at least cut out his shitty tongue for being so damn annoying." One of the bandits said as he bit into his rat meat skewer.
"Huh… At least we know that Jester is at least still alive. Ain't he lucky?" Ralof commented as he pulled out his bow and aimed at one of the bandits.
"But that look on his piss-scared face was almost worth it when you slashed the side of his head up with your mace. Now THAT, was priceless!" The other bandit smiled as he took a bite out of the meat stick.
Ralof stopped moving for a moment as he heard the last few words...
Nora and Hadvar eyes widen at the mention of Jester being injured by one of the bandits.
"Yeah, I still remember it as I almost gutted his tongue out of his mouth with my dagger, I can still hear him breathing rapidly as tears were starting to come out of his eyes! What a weak bitch HA-HA-HA! I know I am sleeping good tonight!" The other bandit slapped his knee as he burst out laughing at the memory.
'This bastard…' Nora, Hadvar, and Ralof thought in an angered unison.
Even though they didn't really like Isaiah much personality wise, Isaiah did many things for them to be thankful to him.
For Ralof, Isaiah gave him a weeks' worth of his favorite mead as kept his promise to him when he discovered what was inside of Isaiah's bag. And by the fact that he was entertaining to watch for Nora and him to go at each other.
For Hadvar, Isaiah shown him what corruption has seeped into the empire with the Thalmor taking over, indirectly saved his life and ended his extreme rivalry with Ralof.
For Nora, as much as she hates to admit it, she owes her life to Isaiah for saving her life by putting his own life in danger, even after how badly she treated him. For that, Nora respects Isaiah to some extent.
And that bastard had the audacity to hurt one of their allies.
Ralof shot the arrow at the one bandit who wasn't bragging, and swiftly ended his life.
"What in Oblivion?! Who goes there!?" The remaining bandit yelled out as he took out his mace.
Nora came out of the shadows and approached the bandit.
"You bitch, you will pay for that!" The bandit yelled out as he charged at Nora with the mace aiming to smash into Nora's head.
"Only one person is able to get away with calling me a bitch with little consequence. And you are not him." Nora said easily blocking the swing with one hand by grabbing the wrist and twisted the weapon out of his hand much to his surprise.
Nora swung her leg back and rocketed her foot forward to the bandit's crotch that echoed a sickening crunch through the room.
The bandit didn't even get a chance to scream in pain as Nora throat chopped the bandit immediately afterwards, making the bandit fall over in unimaginable pain.
"That was for calling me a 'bitch'." Nora said in a monotone voice as she took out her steel dagger.
"This, is for that 'weak little bitch' you tried to do this to." Nora said menacingly as she grabbed the lower jaw, brought the dagger up to his mouth, and-/
-Intermission-
We bring this special message from your friendly neighborhood Daedric Prince of Entertainment, Quin!
This part of the story is rated 'T' for Trolling! As a person who is sometimes against violence, I don't think that the audience is ready to see this level of violence yet. I hope you enjoyed the intermission!
-We now bring you back to your regularly scheduled murder-
After embedding her dagger into the throat of the bandit to finally end his struggling misery, Nora got off of him, and continued down the barrow with Hadvar and Ralof following at a distance after the uncomfortable scene they just witnessed.
-With Trok and Jester-
Coming down the stone halls of the barrow, Trok and I have been walking down the dimly lit path. My head injury was not as bad as I first thought, but it still stung like hell. I thankfully had spare bandage strips of my old shirt that Nora stuck in the pouches of the leather armor, so I had some way of patching up the head wound with Trok's help.
Even though Nora indirectly 'helped' me, I am still not thanking her for this just because it was my shirt that I had to use.
As we approached the room that had the extremely easy and simple puzzle that ABSOLUTELY nobody should fail at-
There is a dead body already…
A dead bandit's body is laying on the lever in the middle of the room, filled with darts all over his body, and a dropped torch, which is still burning… something tells me that he just died not even 2 minutes ago
"Poisoned to death… From an easy puzzle." I muttered and sighed in disappointment.
Trok takes a look around at the room and thought to himself for a bit. Looking at the three turn-able stone pillars that have the snake, hawk, and whale picture on them. Then he looked near the ceiling that had 2 pictures of the snake and whale with a broken off space in between them that was obviously the one that was on the ground. The snake picture.
Trok then looks back to me with a look of pity for the bandit.
"Trok doesn't think he was very bright…" Trok told me as he then casually completed the puzzle, turning the stone pillars to snake, snake, whale. Kicking the bandit away from the lever and activating the lever to open the gate that blocked the way forward.
"…" I was dumbstruck with my mouth wide open at how quickly that this surprisingly perspective Orc was actually kinda smart.
"What? Oh, you think Trok was too dumb to solve this?" Trok asked me with his head tilted to the side.
"What?! No-no-no-no-nonono of course not! I did not doubt you for a second! Its just- I mean, no." I distanced myself from Trok raising my hands defending myself horribly.
"It's ok, you are not the first to think or say Trok isn't smart. Trok knows that Trok talks weird enough that make Trok seem stupid and unwise. Trok isn't that smart, but Trok has enough common sense to know what is obvious." Trok stated with no malice in his voice.
…I'm not going to say anything about the last part being partially wrong, especially in my case. I don't have a death wish yet. I picked up the torch off of the dead bandit and followed Trok.
As we continued onward to the next part of the dungeon. We saw that there was a small chest beside a table with urns.
"Hey, do you think the others already gotten all the treasure in the chest and urns?" I pointed the torch in the direction of the chest.
"Trok thinks there is likely nothing in them. Bandits usually don't leave behind anything, bit Trok thinks we should at least have a look. Having some coin is better than nothing at all." Trok stated.
"You know, for a wise and friendly Orc, you really don't fit in with these guys. Even though they saved you, they treat you like shit, you just smile and accept it. Why don't you just leave them for a better life?" I asked digging around the chest that was filled with dusty old clothes and actually found 20 gold septims, which is strange, since ruins like these are supposed to date back before Tiber Septim was crowned emperor and these coins should have been just gold coins or something of a similar currency from back then. How the hell did these coins make it here?
"Trok… Doesn't really want to go into details, but if you must know, Trok was abandon by his tribe… left for dead by his own brother… Trok doesn't want to bring up any more painful memories, but Trok can't go back home anymore, for Trok doesn't have anywhere else to call home." Trok said with sadness in his voice.
"Trok… I don't know what to say..." I said with a loss of what to say next.
"Trok is fine. Memories still hurt, but Trok learns how to move on." Trok stated as he moved to the wooden stairs that led deeper into the barrow.
"Hey, Trok!" I called out to him, to which he somberly looks back. "After this is over, how about you come with me to a better place? No more living like a bandit and being treated like shit. Turn a new leaf, get you a proper job that pays well, or being a mercenary or whatever pays well, and maybe get you a house after a few jobs. I know a few places that need a good and strong person like you." I told Trok, to which I can see the color in his eyes brighten up.
"Trok… Would appreciate that…" Trok said with a toothy smile.
After scavenging the area and a hidden urn behind the table, I just found 50 coins total, an empty red bottle that looked like a potion which I threw away, and even to my luck, a Garnet gem! We continued downstairs with Trok killing 5 skeevers, or giant rats for those who don't know. And holy shit, they were ugly, and big! About the size of a large street cat. But what really had my attention was the gemstone as it had a shiny red hue to it. Almost like it was alive! Was it by any chance a flawless garnet? Back in my old save files, I was always hoarded and sorted gemstones in my homes, not sure what for, but I liked the idea of having a large collection of them.
"Hey, I think I am going to start a gemstone collection… What do you think Trok?" I said while holding up the gemstone in my hand to the torch fire to get a better look at the pretty red stone.
"Trok thinks that is an expensive hobby. Gemstones are hard to come by unless you work in the mines and are usually sought after by merchants and jewelry blacksmiths. Trok knows how expensive they are, and they usually go for good coin, but are hard to keep track of once word gets out. Robbers and thieves will be knocking at your door once they know of your expensive gems. You do as you wish, but Trok recommends selling them." Trok responded giving his wisdom and opinion upon me.
"Yeah… I guess, you are right…" I said with a hint of sadness, to which Trok looked at me with a bit of worry in his face.
"…We should definitely be miners and start a rock collection." I said with a straight face at the Orc.
"…" We both said nothing and just stared at each other.
As the moment passed, and we both burst out laughing at the thought of the simplistic idea just to fulfill a dumb hobby goal.
"H-Hello? Is anyone out there? Kane? Ya-Beth? Are you both out there? I need some help! Please!" Trok and I heard a scared voice interrupt our laughing that really sounded familiar, and I think we all know who it is. Arvel the Swift.
I pocketed the possibly flawless garnet and we picked up our pace to the voice.
We walked down the hall to see that the entrance is blocked off by webbing, and a realization just came to mind…
"Oh fuck my life…" I muttered as soon as I saw the webbing, making Trok stop and look back to me.
"What is wrong?" Trok asked.
"We are going to be fighting a big frostbite spider… and I kinda have a small fear of spiders…" I admitted.
"Trok understands. You let Trok worry about the big spider, you get to the boss. Trok fears no puny spider of any kind." Trok told me as he slashed through the webbing with his smaller sword.
As we entered the silk covered room, all I can really be is disgusted by the fact that I was walking in the spider silk room, I was trying to keep calm as I was swiping away wildly at the cobwebs that laid on me as I moved through the cobwebs, burning some of them in the process with my torch.
One thing to note, the floor was sticky, but not to the point where I was going to trip over myself. And the spider's room was a bit bigger in person then the game and it had a lot more silk. And I mean A LOT more silk, towards the point where you cannot see the walls and floor. Cocoons were everywhere, big and small from what I could only assume that were of skeevers and bandits, or just egg sacks. A giant hole in the ceiling on the far end of the room where the giant spider was supposed to be at has a bright light shining through it. Although it is a bit dim with all the cobwebs filtering out the light. And at the end of the room, there was Arvel the Swift, tied up to the next part of the dungeon. But the wounded giant frostbite spider didn't immediately come out… Is it still recovering from its previous fight?
"Wait, Trok!? You brought someone to help me? Thank the gods! Get over here and help me out of here, before they come back!" Arvel panicked as soon as he saw us.
"Wait, 'they'? Don't you just mean the one giant frostbite spider?" I ask Arvel the Swift.
Before he could answer my question, I could hear the creeping sounds of what sounded like hundreds of legs crawling from above.
"Oh gods, they are back! Quickly Trok! Cut me loose PLEASE! I don't want to die to a nest of Frostbite spiders! They are too many! We shouldn't have come here!" Arvel the Swift said in a panic as Trok then tried his best to cut through the spider's webbing on Arvel.
My eyes widen at the mention of a huge nest of spiders and the different dialog that he would have said, as I looked up to the that the giant hole was spewing with multiple frostbite spiders, and a giant spider that did not look like it was injured. From around the room, some of the larger cocoons, emerged even more frostbite spiders blocking the only immediate exit. And worse of all, it seemed that there was around fifty spiders everywhere in the room. I dropped my torch in the unrealistic numbers of how many spiders there were as one of them spat out a wad of spider silk at me, to which I panic-blocked with my sword as it hit my hand, bounding my sword and hand together.
"Oh shit. Oh shit! OH SHIT OH SHIT OH SHIT!" I used my bounded iron sword as I tried to cut and hack away at the webbing with Trok, but at a faster pace then what was possible, making Trok back away.
"I-I can feel it come loose, HEY, watch where your cutting-" Arvel tried to slow me down.
"DEAL WITH IT!" I said with even more panic as I slashed though the final webbing holding Arvel in place as he fell over on top of me.
"Trok! Get this fool under control before he gets us all killed! And follow me through the catacombs! There are bound to be a few traps and Dragur that we can lure the spiders into until we form a plan!" Arvel said to Trok as he got off me, and before I could run into the catacombs, Trok grabbed me by the back of the collar and carried me like a hand bag as he made a dash to the catacombs following Arvel with the spiders pouring out of the hole we made as I was still having a panic attack.
(? POV)
"Oh? That is an interesting smell coming from that one… He is definitely smells otherworldly, and by the scent, he also has a smell of a powerful Daedra presence on him… Hmmm… I wonder what he would taste like?" A creature with spider and human like features lowered itself from the spider den as she followed into the hole that was cut through, passing up the passive giant Frostbite spider.
"You. Guard this passage and make sure no mortal leaves beyond this point. If you see any snacks wonder in, you know what to do." The spider woman declared as she followed the panicking mortal voice.
The giant frostbite spider seemingly bowed and returned to the hole in the ceiling waiting for any unfortunate victims to wonder into the den.
(Back to Isaiah's group)
As we entered the catacombs, I can see that there are signs of dead and preserved bodies of the honored Nords of the past. The spiders sound a bit far off with how fast we have been going. So it is safe to assume that we are a bit away from any immediate danger.
"(Huff-Huff) Ok Trok, I think I have calm down enough, just drop me, and I will keep up-." I said as I just calmed myself. But as I looked around to get a grip of my surroundings, and my eyes widen in horror.
"OH GOD, TROK, STOP! STOP!" I panicked to see where we were headed, and that bastard Arvel the Swift is setting us to be killed by accidentally activating a trap that will swing a large spike wall at us. I even had to elbow Trok's ribs to make him stop for a moment. But for Arvel, he kept on going.
"Ugh, What are you-(SLAM)-?!" Trok started to talk but was silenced as the metal wall swung open just barely missing us by Inches.
That moment was all we needed to live when Arvel the Swift stepped on an obvious pressure plate that he carelessly activated, which activated the metal wall trap. The wall slammed into Arvel and impaling him onto the thorns that covered the wall, causing Trok to drop me, letting me stand on my own. As I looked onto the surroundings, I saw one Dragur after another started to raise from their sleeping bunks. Around 20 Dragur rose from their rocky tombs with their blue glowing eyes set on us.
"Can this day get, ANY WORSE?!" I rose my voice in anger, annoyance, and fear altogether.
The spiders from before were then crawling over the room shortly after I finished my sentence.
"…You got to be fucking kidding me…" I mumbled as soon as I realized that I jinxed myself.
"Human, follow Trok to live, Now!" Trok yelled firmly as he took off, dodging the trap that was already ready to be set off again for any foolish entities.
I was about to follow Trok, but I just remembered that Arvel the Swift still had the Golden Dragon Claw still on him. and without the golden claw, we can't get past the dragon door!
"D-DAMN IT!" I quickly ran up to the body, jumping over the pressure switch and tried to pat down the bloody dead body much to my disgust.
I looked back to see how much little time I have before the draugr reached me, but to my surprise, the Dragur and Spiders were fighting each other! The 50 spiders and 20 draugr lost complete interest in me and Trok. Almost like an inborn hatred for one another-!
Oh, and there were 2 of the draugr who were panicking and running away from the spiders.
My eyes widen at the realization.
My memories flashed back to the tutorial area where we encountered the spiders for the 'first' time. Nords hated/feared spiders with a passion. That's must be why they are fighting each other!
I did not dwell on the subject, as I can see that the spiders were quickly gaining power over the draugr by the sheer number advantage. So I quickly got back to work.
Digging through the pockets of the dead man, I managed to find the surprisingly big (and bloody) golden dragon claw. I then quickly caught up with Trok, who was waiting for me with a look of surprise.
"Hey! Sorry I am a bit late Trok. Let's get go-" I just felt a killing intent aimed at me, and my instincts SCREAMED at me to duck.
As I ducked, I saw that there was a thick spider web that stuck to the flooring just ahead of me. if I didn't duck, I would have been hit square on the back.
My instincts were still shouting at me to dodge, so I rolled out of the way as more shots of thick webbing had stuck to the places seconds where I rolled onto as I stumbled across a lone dented shield as I raised it up to my body, and much to my surprise, the webbing stuck to it, and it pulled hard. I let go of it and scrambled back to where Trok was. My instincts calmed down as I got behind Trok.
I can hear a dark giggling as I turned around with Trok getting ready to fight with me with his sword drawn out protecting me from any immediate attacks. I followed his example by having my sword out with my hand over the webbing for a more secure gripping on my sword.
"An interesting smell, as well as good instincts… You are turning out to be more of a prize then I originally thought. And I like good surprises…" An alluring voice sounded out from above. It was too dark to see, But it was clear that it was a female voice.
In a sudden motion, a huge body mass was being lowered from the ceiling by web revealing a half human, half spider like monster.
Black long hair that is dark as the night sky, complimented with a snow-white skin, bright red eyes, and as one would say, a seductive like top covering the chest and lower part of the spider monster that would leave any 'normal' man wanting to see more. It was certainly beautiful, but what had drove me into fear, is what the lower half of her was.
A Black Widow like body with the blood red mark of a skull imprinting on her back spider body. Sleek long, yet strong and sharp legs that look like they can impale a man with even armor on. And a presence that would even put veterans of war on edge.
Even with all my knowledge of Skyrim, I do not know anything about what I am seeing. All I can guess that it would be a spider arachnoid creature that came from one of the Daedric princes. Mephala
"Trok…This is going to be one of the few times that you will hear me say this, but what Is that thing?" I said in fear of not knowing anything about the enemy.
"Spider Daedra… Extremely. Dangerous…" Trok said with a bit of fear in his voice.
My heart is beating quickly in anxiety. Trok doesn't seem to be the cowering type, he is a big fucking Orc. And for him to have a bit of fear in his voice, must mean that this thing is BIG trouble.
The Daedra spider smiled, almost like it can smell our fear of her.
"Orc. I will make you a once in a lifetime deal. Since I am in a generous mood, I want to propose an offer to you." The Spider Daedra spoke up to Trok.
I started to sweat. Any deal with any sort of Daedra is bound to be with consequences. There is always a catch.
Trok remained head strong as he stared at the spider Daedra.
"What I want, is that mortal cowering behind you there." The spider Daedra pointed one of its fingers at me.
WHY DOES SHE WANT ME?!
But surely Trok won't accept the deal, right?
Trok Looks at me and looks back at the Arachnoid creature.
…Right?
"…Let's say that Trok is interested in this deal. What do you offer Trok for the life of this human?" Trok spoke with no hesitation in his voice… he even put away his sword.
"DUDE! WHAT THE HELL?!" I shouted at Trok, who didn't flinch at my response.
"I offer you another chance at life again. You will leave this place without me or my spiders giving you any trouble what so ever. No strings attached, no back stabbings of any sort. Just hand over the mortal that I desire, and you will be on your way out of here alive and well." The spider Daedra said with her attention fully on me.
I can feel my skin crawl as the Daedra started to eye me up like a piece of meat, licking her luscious lips.
"…And If Trok Refuses?" Trok asked with a stern voice that snapped out of her lustful gaze at me and glared at Trok.
She raised her arm and snapped her fingers. 8 spiders appeared behind her. The draugr are seemingly dead by the spiders and wrapped up from behind with many spiders and draugr.
"Then you will die, and I will take him by force. Not that it will matter much in the end. I will still get what I want. And you will be gone one way or another, and I would prefer it to be the easy way." The spiders then start to get a bit hostile by hissing. "So, Orc. Make your choice. Life. Or. Death." The Spider Daedra said with malice in her voice as her killing intent filled the room.
"Trok… There is more than one way to tackle this problem, but we need time to-" I was interrupted by Trok as he grabbed the collar of my armor.
"Trok knows the right answer, and it is clear as day. And Trok thanks you for everything you have done for Trok." Trok said with a monotone voice.
"What are you doing Trok?! TROK! STOP IT!" I yelled in another panic as I was lifted off the ground.
I was going to slash at Trok with my Iron sword. But before I could even swing it, Trok grabbed my hand, and tore off the webbing and sword from my grip.
"You won't be needing this where you are going." Trok said with a cold tone as he began to walk to the spider Daedra.
"This world is as cruel as ever. I do sense betrayal in this bond. Bittersweet to watch, but that is to be expected from a lowly bandit. Now give him to me, and you will get your freedom out of here." The Spider Daedra said in a careless voice as she stretched out her hand to reach me.
"Oh, Trok forgot to tell you… When did Trok say that Trok was going to give him to you" Trok said while stopping, making the Daedra look surprised for a brief moment.
In a literal swift turn of events, he spun around and launched me like a shot-put over the arachnoid spider and the other 8 spiders much to my and the spider Daedra's shock.
I was soaring through the air and had a good view to see what happened next. Trok was now attacking the Spider Daedra with the 2 swords as he was now shouting at me while blocking the slashes of the arachnid's arms and frontal legs.
"RUN! Don't let Trok's decision go to waste-OOF!" Trok said before being launched to the wall by a strong punch by the Spider Daedra with webbing being spat at by the other spiders.
"TROK!" I yelled out as I landed in worry of the Orc.
"Wrap him up! I'll deal with the foolish Orc later. GET BACK HERE MORTAL!" The arachnid woman said while giving me chase.
In a quick small battle, Trok had killed 5 of the spiders, but they had already done their job by distracting Trok while the other 3 spiders took out the weapons with their webs and began biting and spitting webbings at Trok, wrapping him up in silk as they pinned him to the corner of the room with surprising speed.
My eyes then shifted to the arachnid woman, and I sprinted in fear of what fate will befall me should I be captured.
'Trok… I'm sorry I am not strong enough to save you…' I regretfully thought as I ran back to the spider room with all my might.
'No weapons… No magic… No powers… No friends to back me up… No strength to even save myself except by running like a coward… Hell, not even a Daedric prince to even help me in my most desperate time of need…' I thought in spite of myself.
I could still hear the rapid tapping of spider legs chasing me, and they seem to be closing in. I just focused on running, as that is all I could ever do right.
I was closing in on the entrance of the spider's den, but I was surprised that the giant spider was there, dead with a big axe embedded into its head along with a few arrows. The owner of the twohanded battle-axe was none other than Ralof himself being backed up by Nora and Hadvar.
Nora took first notice of me, then the other Nords when I came into the spider chamber, with their first reaction being a look of relief, the second is of realization of the Spider Daedra, to which they all gathered up to guard me when the spider Daedra crawled into the room.
"I see that you made quick work of one of my bigger minions… One set back after another, but this is no big deal. I'll just create more once I am through with you lot. Hand over the mortal behind you, and I will let you live, I am not in any mood to play-(Swish)…Around…" The spider Daedra stopped mid-sentence as Nora chucked her dagger at the spider Daedra, cutting her cheek. Nora had a face that states that she couldn't give a damn about what she would have to say.
"FINE, death to you all! Mortal, I wasn't going to kill you at first, but your death will be painful once I get my claws on you!" She hissed.
Ralof and Nora were the first to charge in, combating the spider Daedra as Hadvar checked up on me.
"Glad to see that you are alive and not that injured Jester. Where in oblivion did you encounter that deadly Daedra, and what is with the wolf pelt?" Hadvar said while notching and releasing an arrow at the spider Daedra, to which it dodged the arrow, while blocking the two-handed axe from Ralof, and striking at Nora, to which she blocked the hit and was sent back.
"ENOUGH!" The spider woman shouted as she sent Ralof back as she herself had impressively jumped back onto the walls and had a spell in her hands that had a nasty dark purple sphere. "I gave everyone a fair chance, and not once did I ever get the result that I wanted. My home was invaded, most of my servants were killed, and I have yet to get the prize that I so crave. I will see to it that you all will go, TO OBLIVION!" She shouted then started cast the spell that was in her hands.
Hadvar notched another arrow to interrupt the spell, but the spider Daedra spat out a wad of webbing at Hadvar's bow, rendering it useless for the time being.
As the spider Daedra completed the spell, she slammed her hands onto the wall, to which opened a big summoning portal. What dropped out of the portal and landing on the ground with a shockwave of incredible mass was something that I did not recognize, and it horrified me.
It was made out of bones. Nothing BUT bones, with its head being a large skull, standing around 10 feet tall, tower overing all of us like a giant. One of its arms looks to be bigger than the other, looking like an arm-blade. Little to say that it was a colossal monster made of bones… I'm going to call it a Bone Colossus since I really don't know what else to call it and it frankly scares me.
Nora, Hadvar and Ralof got into formation, and Hadvar shot some arrows at it. Nora tried to slash and smash at its bone legs with Ralof supporting Nora on the opposite leg. The spider Daedra looked to be exhausted from the summoning, so it would be safe to assume that the spider is going to be out of the fight for now.
The bone colossus swiped at Nora and Ralof with its arm-blade, to which Nora dodged and Ralof got hit, sending him flying across the room with a slash mark on his chest seemingly piercing the chainmail under his Stormcloak armor, launching him towards Hadvar.
"RALOF!" Hadvar cried as he caught his friend, dropping his bow and checking his wound.
Following up on the slash, the bone colossus tried to punch Nora, to which she moved out of the way and grabbed onto the bone arm of the colossus and climbed up its arm. The bone colossus tried to shake Nora off, but Nora held on strong, even getting a few good hacks off by attacking the back shoulder joint of the upper arm. After the fifth slash, bone started to crack on the shoulder. Seemingly enraged by this, the bone colossus had slammed its body on the wall, crushing Nora behind it's back.
"ARGH!" Nora shouted in pain as she coughed out blood and fell to the ground.
The bone colossus grabbed Nora and begun to crush her with its grip with her yelling in pain as she struggled to get out of the grip of the bone monstrosity.
I snapped out of my fear and looked to Hadvar and Ralof. Ralof was knocked out and Hadvar was staring dumbfounded in how fast the battle has turned against us.
I began to think about the situation before us. Ralof is knocked out, Nora is being slowly killed, and Hadvar is the only one who I am able to rely on. The only information I am able to think about is that the bone colossus is that it might be vulnerable to blunt force damage.
"Hadvar! What do we do?! What can we do?!" I shouted in a slight panic knowing our odds against this thing.
Hadvar set Ralof aside and dropped his arrows and shield, knowing that they will be useless.
"The only thing we can do. Fight. Just stay out of my way so I don't hit you." Hadvar said as he made a dash towards the giant bone monster as he grabbed Ralof's battle axe from the ground and was going for a spinning power attack on the legs.
As the attack landed against one of the legs, it made a soundful cracking noise, and it sounded like it roared in pain as it dropped to its one knee, and an exhausted Nora to the floor. As Hadvar was about to go for a head strike with another power attack, the Bone colossus had slammed its arm against Hadvar, sending him flying towards an empty spider egg nest seemingly knocking him out.
HOW POWERFUL IS THIS DAMN THING?!
I was about to run to get Nora, but webbings got to her first from above. The spider Daedra is back in action, but she looked to be strained by something as she held one hand towards the bone colossus, and the other with a string that held Nora, and is slowly being reeled to her.
"Nora!" I shouted.
"(Huff) You mortals are too much trouble. (Huff) Why does everything have to be a pain in the ass-STOP RESISTING MY CONTROL YOU DAMN SACK OF BONES!" The spider Daedra started to shout as she was looking to be in a power struggle against the bone colossus with her hand struggling to maintain a grip, the bone colossus who was in turn looking to be having one hell of a headache as it was gripping its own head.
Wait, this reminds me of something that I heard of, if the mage that summoned the creature is too powerful to control, it will often go amok and attack anything in sight. Maybe if I can do something to break the connection, it might go back to Oblivion!
…Either that, or it might just go on a rampage and kill all of us…
The bone colossus looked to be getting back under her control and was slowly making its way towards Hadvar with its bladed arm rising aiming to finish what it started.
Fuck it, I am running out of time! It is now or never!
I looked around the area where Ralof was and saw Hadvar's bow and arrows. I notched one arrow and tried to aim it at the spider Daedra. But before I could release the arrow, the bow was hard to pull back on, and I was struggling to aim properly. Damn, they make using these bows a hell of a lot easier in game.
As I pulled back on the string as hard as I can and aimed my shaking bow at the distracted spider Daedra, I released the string and the arrow was sent flying at the spider Daedra hitting the shoulder that was holding Nora, dropping her to the ground.
"ARGH!" The spider Daedra yelled in pain.
After Nora fell to the ground, a warm golden glow began to swirl around herself, and she shakenly got back up with a golden light spilling from her left hand. She was casting healing magic on herself!
In addition to that, the spider Daedra lost complete concentration of her difficult to control summon and, thankfully, the bone colossus broke down and a portal opened up and taken it back to Oblivion.
After feeling a bit relieved of one major problem being done with, I had taken another arrow and notched it to aim at the spider Daedra. But what I didn't account for was that the spider Daedra was now focused on me as another web was slung at me, and I was now bound with webs, and being dragged towards her.
"I will have one thing go right today, and it will be with YOU!" The spider Daedra hissed as she pulled me in closer and closer.
"No-No-No, I can't die just yet! Not here, NOT NOW!" I shouted while pulling hard onto the web strings with all I got.
Much as I don't want to admit it, it is not working as I am being pulled with great progress towards the spider Daedra, and not even the sticky web flooring is helping my situation.
Just when I thought I was going to end up in the clutches of the spider Daedra, Nora had found her knife and dashed towards me to cut the webbing with her war axe, tearing off the webbing that was on me, and throwing me onto the ground behind her as she took a defensive stance against the spider Daedra.
"If you want this worthless milk drinker behind me, you will have to chain me up in the darkest realm of Oblivion itself to even have a chance of getting him. But until then, I will kill anyone and anything who dares threatens any of my friends." Nora said with her killing intent filling the room as the spider Daedra had seemingly been intimidated by the threat.
"One damn set back after another…(Sniff-Sniff) …Oh? it seems that mortal isn't the only thing that smells interesting…" The spider Daedra responded, surprising both of us.
"What are you on about? Actually, I don't care anymore, just leave and don't show your face again. Otherwise, I will keep my promise and kill you." Nora once again threatened the spider Daedra.
"I will withdraw for now as I am in no way able to take you on right now, especially with the power that you hold inside of you. but this doesn't mean that I will give up on him. Mortals, what are your names, so I know of who I fought." The Daedra asked while crawling up to the hole in the ceiling.
"Nora… No last name." Nora stated as she harden her glare at the Spider Daedra.
The Daedra looked towards me, but I didn't say anything, the Daedra paused for a good moment before going into the spider nest, and even Nora glanced back at me for a second in annoyance.
"(Sigh) I… just go by the name of Jester." I sighed.
"Very well Nora and Jester… Heed my name well, I am Karasu, daughter of the Daedric prince Mephala. And we will meet again. Especially you Jester." Karasu spoke while licking her lips at the last part as she entered her spider den.
Dear god…
As Karasu left, Nora had immediately gone for Ralof and casted healing hands on him to close his chest wound.
I jogged towards Hadvar and saw that he was in bad shape. I pulled him out of the spider's nest, and slung one of his arms over my shoulders, slowly carrying him to Nora and Ralof. He was kinda heavy.
"How are they?" I asked Nora, placing down Hadvar next to Ralof, with Nora casting healing hands on Hadvar with her other hand, simultaneously healing both of them with them slowly waking up groaning.
"It's not as bad as I first thought, the chainmail blocked most of the damage for Hadvar, landing on a soft spot helped block most of the impact damage, but we will have to find a proper place to rest for a bit. And resting here isn't optimal, considering that spider Daedra is overhead." Nora replied.
"Nora… Jester…? Oh thank the gods you are safe… I assume we won?" Ralof sighed in relief.
I nodded in confirmation.
"Ugh, my back…" Hadvar groaned.
After a minute of healing Ralof and Hadvar, Nora had checked up on me and my head injury. And little to say, I am not really that comfortable with Nora being 'kind' to me.
"…I see that you made use of the makeshift bandages I packed." Nora said as she began the healing process.
"…" I said nothing. A bad memory surged from the recent past which I cannot forget.
"That bandit got you good on the head. Does it still hurt?" She asked, trying to make small talk.
"…" I said nothing.
My memories went to the near-death experience, that was the asshole bandit. I can feel my face scrunch up in anger. But that wasn't really what I was mad about.
"If it helps numb the memory, I killed that bastard who did that to-" Nora tried to comfort me, but I interrupted her.
"Bitch please, to hell with that bandit, you still owe me a custom-made white cotton T-shirt." I bluntly blurted to Nora.
I can see a tick mark forming on her head as she grabbed my freshly healed ear and pulled on it like a scolding mother would.
Uh oh…
"You little shit! I am TRYING to be NICE to you, and this is the thanks that I get from saving you?! Maybe I will get that damn custom-made shirt and tear it up in front of you, just to fucking spite you!" Nora yelled at me much to the amusement and shock of the others.
"NORA! STOP! ITS GOING TO TEAR OFF, IT'S GOING TO TEAR OFF!" I cried in terror.
"Ok Nora, that's enough. Let's get out of here before that spider Daedra comes back." Hadvar said with amusement in his voice with Ralof struggling not to laugh.
Nora let go to my relief, but a realization just hit me as I just remembered one more person that I forgot about.
"TROK!" I yelled out as I grabbed the dagger off of Nora's belt to her surprise as I bolted out of the spider den.
"Where are you going?!" Nora shouted and chased after me with Ralof and Hadvar following.
I was making a mad dash towards the last place where I remembered seeing Trok at, and thankfully his cocoon was still there, and the spiders are gone.
'Trok, please still be alive…' I pleaded as I got to the cocoon as I began tearing through the thick webbing with the dagger praying that he was still alive.
I saw that green skin was starting to show, and I was beginning to be more careful with the web cutting.
"Jester, what are you…" Nora's voice died down as she saw what I was doing.
"Trok.. please… be alive…" I mumbled.
Finally getting the webbing loose, and pulling the webbing off of Trok, I pulled Trok out to see that he was in BAD condition. Spider bites in a few places on his body, supposedly having the frostbite venom in his system. His chances of being alive were not looking good… I put my head against his chest to hear any signs of life.

Thump…Thump…
…A slow and faint beating of a weak heart…
"Nora! Heal him, please!" I pleaded to Nora who looked apathetic to me.
"…Why would I heal scum like him. It's stupid to heal people who will just go back to their old ways of robbing and pillaging, killing and raping. Come on Jester, stop wasting our time with him, and let's get going. We need to find a place to rest."
"…" I remained silent as I was processing the words that I just heard.
"Jester, come on. Forget about him, he is just another damned bandit. He deserves this kind fate if he was willing to raid a tomb." Nora continued to slander Trok.
I felt that two options popped up in front of me… and I hated both options…
-Punch Nora.-
-Leave Trok to die.-
End of Chapter.
Here we have a choice. Will Trok be left to die, or will Isaiah make a bold move that will possibly result in his 'death'?
That is for you to decide.
The original choice that I have made would be clear to anyone who has been paying attention to the story. But why do I have to come up with all the ways to entertain you guys, why not give you the choice for me to…'Improvise'. And with the comments going as they are, I can take a wild guess that some of you would take the choice that I would make.
But like a Dungeon Master in DnD would do to let the Players lead their own adventure, I will let you guide me in the decisions that you would make, maybe even go on a few filler dungeons quests, BUT, as a Dungeon Master, I must get you guys back to the plot when things get out of hand.
I would like to see more reader/story interaction. How you guys would shout out what you want when given the choice of the matter. Most of what you guys say might affect the story in small ways, but not the entire plot I have planned.
Actions will reap consequences, be it good or bad. That also goes for me as well, so hopefully, I don't fuck up by giving you guys the choices to be made and influencing me in the wrong ways by giving you guys too much influence on my story.
There will be plenty of choices made by you guys, whether it be focusing on selecting and getting stronger gear like Daedric gear, changing the questing up after a certain point in the story by going against the vampire threat, going after the rogue dragonborn, or just beating Alduin's ass so we can get that out of the way first…
Even some special choices that might have an impact on Isaiah's Love life might happen if the right choices are made…
HAHAHA, YEAH RIGHT! Like that will ever happen.
Also, as a side note, I want to know what you think about the introduction of the new Daedra side character, Karasu. Good? Bad? Horny?
You Tell me what you think about her!
But all of that will be for later down the story line. With that being said, thanks for reading my shitty story. If you have any questions, comments or concerns, let me know down in the comment section what is on your mind and vote for your choice in what you want Isaiah to do next. This is RedTokyo95, signing out!
