The 25th of the Etheral Moon
"How much longer do I have to do this for, again?" Robin whispered a groan to Chrom who was happily greeting the many children of Ylisse.
"Patience, my friend. If you're willing to charge a blazing ship into enemy lines, you can handle a few children during the festival." Chrom chuckles at the dismay of his trusted tactician.
"This children isn't the issue. It's this blasted outfit! It weighs a ton!" Robin wipes a bit of sweat off his forehead. Unlike his usual black coat, Robin wore a bright red robe that matched the winter festival.
Lissa raises an eyebrow at Robin's complaints. "The only reason it weighs that much is because of how much padding that you put inside your coat! I can see the heat basically coming out of you!"
"This was my plan to stay warm! What's wrong with that?!" Robin exclaims in disbelief at Lissa's comment as she tilts her head to Tharja. The dark mage was passing out candy to passing children in a lightly dressed outfit that made everyone cold just by looking at her. "She placed a curse to protect her from the cold. That's not helping your case."
"Alright! That's enough. We can talk about all of that, later." Chrom comments with a small sigh at the two additional children that he had to watch. "It's the winter festival. Don't you think we should simply enjoy ourselves?"
"You do have a point. Sorry." Robin frowns looking at Lissa apologetically.
"I'm sorry too. I guess I'm just antsy to go to the festival. I hear Maribelle and a few others were going to sing all over."
"Well, we can go join them later. We have to give them the gifts that I planned." Robin smiles pointing to Chrom who holds up a whole sack full of presents for the occasion. "Yours is in there too. But you can't open it until we meet the others."
"Ah! Are you teasing me for all the times that I pranked you?!" Lissa exclaims jokingly. The two continue to happily greet the passing families entering the festival while they continue to talk amongst themselves. Chrom happily watches, already finished handing all of the small gifts he had for the passing families.
"Father!" A voice calls out from behind Chrom. He turns around to see Lucina making her way over while holding a sleeping, baby version of herself.
"Ah! Lucina! I'm glad to see my two favorite daughters!" Chrom laughs heartily at his own joke with Lucina letting out a few chuckles herself at the joke. "How are you enjoying the festival?"
"It's definitely a breath of fresh air from all that I'm used to. There is so much color all over Ylisstol. All of it is very nice." Lucina lets out a small smile while looking at the castle.
"Yes. Frederick was very adamant about having everything being bright and colorful… A time where we are reminded about the treasured memories we share with loved ones." Chrom's expression darkens a little. Knowing all too well about what Chrom was thinking of, Lucina frowns at her past failure.
"I still wished that I had done better back then…" Lucina grits her teeth at her failure. A creeping silence watches over the two, only being interrupted by the sounds of a babbling baby. The two look to see baby Lucina watching over the festival. Many families excitedly make their way into the festival grounds, with a few hints of singing that could be heard from a passing caroling choir.
Baby Lucina smiles, extending her arms out towards the happy families of Ylisse. This was enough to put a smile on father and daughter as they simply watch the childlike innocence of the past version of Lucina for what felt like hours. It was Robin and Lissa's turn to watch the two.
"Hey, Lissa. Have you ever thought of having kids with Gaius?" Robin's question led Lissa to ponder a little. A rare moment that the two were able to sit down and ponder.
"Yeah, I've thought of that. I guess seeing Lucina with Chrom made me think. What if I had someone that went back in time with Lucina. I don't know how I would react!" Lissa said her true feelings on the matter. Despite still being a fresh idea, it was definitely something that she wanted. "But… It makes me hopeful in a way."
"I think I get what you're trying to say." Robin smiles softly at Lissa's thoughts about life. The girl that he knew was far different from the same girl that found him on the field three years prior.
"What about you? Have you thought about having kids?" Lissa counters back, wanting to hear Robin's opinion.
"Me?" Robin folds his arms, thinking a little on the subject matter. "Well, I first have to be married to someone before I can really consider having children."
"Oh no! You don't get to say that when I said what I thought! It was embarrassing to talk about me and Gauis!" Lissa exclaims, slightly elbowing the tactician.
"Alright fine. If I had to say, I would like to have children. Maybe a daughter." Robin smiles reflecting the happy look on Chrom's face when he's with both Lucinas. In some way, Chrom's fatherly instincts towards his daughter have rubbed off on him after watching it for a few months. He could almost imagine what it would be like to have that same kind of feeling that Chrom shows.
"Ah!" Lissa's outburst knocks Robin out of his train of thought turning back with a confused expression. "We were supposed to meet Maribelle! We got to hurry!"
"Ah! You're right! Chrom!" Robin calls out to Chrom, with the two looking over. "We're supposed to be meeting the Shepherds right now!"
"Ah! That's right!" Chrom carries the huge sack of presents over his shoulder as the group rushes over inside the festival area. Robin and Lissa look at each other before turning to Lucina who simply smiles and shrugs while holding Baby Lucina. The three smile before walking through the festival grounds.
"Oh my- you don't need to say in the future, my love. If you wanted, I could do it right now." Tharja comments, following the group close behind. However, she pondered something that Robin said. "No... Robin said that I should act more normal. I guess I should act like a typical normally plain girl."
"Robin! Are you in there?" A few knocks on the door jolts Robin awake from the pile of books all over his desk. Blinking a few times, Robin processes his reminiscent dream as Dimitri enters the room. "There you are. I've been looking for you."
"Dimitri? Was there something that you needed?" Robin asked, still dazed from just being woken up.
"Yes. The ball is starting soon and you were nowhere in sight. Since there was a little time, I decided to search for you." Dimitri explains with Robin slowly processing what Dimitri said.
"The ball… The ball… Ah! Yes!" Robin stands up, stretching from the stiffness before looking at the House Leader. "Thank you for waking me up. Shall we head to the ball together?"
"Of course. Everyone is patiently waiting for your arrival." Dimitri smiles, leading the way to the hall.
"But since we're going together, that would mean that my first dance tonight will be with you," Robin smirks, poking fun at Dimitri. Recalling what Dimitri said about his dancing skills prior to the White Heron Cup had made the tactician quite curious about his friend.
"What?! Curse you, Robin…" Dimitri calls out before shaking his head to what he's hearing. "I will of course accept, but know that you have damned the two of us!"
Wassup my homies! Merry late Christmas and Happy New Year! I'm eleven days late to the Christmas special that I promised you guys but it took a long time to come up with a decent idea. I wanted to plan something massive but it didn't work the way that I wanted it to work. So instead, I made a small omake style of scene that is building a little but mostly a nod to the winter Awakening units that were in FEH many years back. I had no idea how the hell I could make Robin a frickin armored unit but I came up with a way and I'm proud of it? TBD on how I truly think on the matter.
This was just a small fun omake that I decided to do. I wanted to expand more on it but it would've spoiled what I had in the plan of the series. Not much but it is quite drastic. With that being said. Thank you for reading. I'm NexusMHX signing off! And I still don't know what I'm doing.
Also since it's a new year, I wanted to improve more on my writing so if there's anything that you think may help make this better, I'm all ears for it. I want to make sure that I'm constantly growing.
