Doomguy arms himself ready for another adventure out of Diamond City. He sold whatever junk he had, then spent all of his caps on only ammo for his handgun and his double barrel. Now he searches for Sonja, and he has no idea where she is right now.

Sonja was going to be a difficult woman to find, since she is not at Red Rocket at this time, probably busy doing other tasks in the Commonwealth with Dogmeat beside her. She went east after leaving Diamond City, cleared a few areas and attempt of taking a break in Goodneighbor. She found herself being partners to a woman, named Bobbi No-Nose, who needs her help clearing the tunnels and ask to help her steal from the mayor of Diamond City. However, the next task requires a tech expert, who is now stuck inside Diamond City jail, so now they have to wait a day for them to recruit him into this mission. Since she cannot enter Diamond City, she plans to stay in Goodneighbor for the night inside a hotel and relax.

What Sonja fails to realise is that Bobbi would recognise her as a H.V.T [High Value Target] and realise she could score a big deal if she chooses to sell her out to the ARC. Instead of attacking her during the night, thanks to Dogmeat protecting her, Bobbi travels to Diamond City by herself and attempt to make a deal with the ARC, while also collecting her tech expert in the city's jail.

While all of this stuff was happening, Doomguy and Piper leaves Diamond City the same time Sonja enters Goodneighbor. This was also the time where the ARC Troopers begin to leave the city when they got orders to travel east to secure Trinity Plaza.

After they left the scene, Piper looks to Doomguy and asks "So… Any ideas where we can find our canine friend?"

Doomguy looks to her and responds "Red Rocket." Then looks away and faces the northern areas where he once came here before with Sonja.

"That's going to be a long time. Hang on, if I know Sonja well, which I do, she doesn't stay in Red Rocket all the time. I bet she probably went to that town of Goodneighbor first and is probably doing jobs with them. It's worth a shot, right?"

Doomguy looks back to her "Where's Goodneighbor?"

"I know the place. Follow me." And with that, Piper takes the lead and makes her way towards Goodneighbor with Doomguy behind her. She chose not to follow the ARC Troopers in case they see them as a hostile threat, so Piper chooses to take another route to the city.

The two went around and found no resistance whatsoever during the walk together. As they start walking, Piper looks to him and asks "What are you going to do if this doesn't work? Will you be searching all over the Commonwealth to find your family?"

Doomguy responds "Yes." While continue walking forward with his double barrel in hands

"Hmmmm, who is the lucky girl anyway?"

"Her name is Samus."

"You think she's still with your son?" Piper asks

"Yes."

"Really hope you finally get closure from all this. The Commonwealth has taken too many people already, so there should be at least some miracle out there."

"There will be, as soon as I'm done finding my family. The Commonwealth will be cleared by these monsters."

"Really? You want to purge all the horrors? Well, you've got my support, Blue." Piper replies, then stops for a moment and looks at one of the buildings on her right. "Hey."

Doomguy stops to look back to her, then looks at the building where Piper is looking and discovers the building is Hubris Comics.

"This is Hubris Comics." Piper replies and looks back to Doomguy "We might find something good here, or anything else that could interest us. Want to check?"

Doomguy was hesitant at first because all he care about was searching for Sonja. But there was nothing wrong with searching the whole place and collecting every type of weapons or ammo he could find in a place like this.

"Let's go."

"Oh, and if you see any issues of Grognak the Barbarian, just let me know for, uh, research purposes." Piper keeps her handgun ready and remain watching his back when entering the main doorway.

Inside this building was a dozen ghouls waiting for the next victim to feed on. The ones on the first floor would hear the two entering the room, and the rest would wake up the moment one of them fires the first shot, which was Doomguy. He shot the first ghoul that came falling into the room from the second level above them, so he blew its head off and quickly reloads when hearing the rest of them waking up. Piper would support him by stepping in with her handgun and fires a few shots to land a few headshots. Doomguy switches to the pistol and kept firing at the ghouls that were dumb enough to come jumping down from that same hole. It was an easy firefight with the two easily shooting down most of the ghouls, killed at least eight of them already, while the rest remain upstairs and waiting for them.

Before they move any further, Piper notices a broken display case that contains Grognak's Axe. The case was badly damage and could easily take it out without the need of lockpicking, so she takes it out and offers it to Doomguy.

"Let's see how these ghouls fare to Grognak's Axe."

When he takes the axe, he remembers a flashback of the time where Samus had a thought of having her husband play as Grognak the Barbarian in the upcoming movie in develop.

"You should try it." Samus says to him. Both of them are putting boxes away and Doomguy was looking at one of the comics of Grognak.

"I'm not an actor… I'm an ex-marine."

"Which is perfect for you." Samus looks back at him and smiles when her eyes look down to his chest "Barbarian Slayer."

Doomguy looks back to her "You do realise I'm going to have to lay in bed with another woman, right?"

"Oh…. Actually, you're not playing as the barbarian."

"And besides…" Doomguy looks down at his left arm and moves his fist closer to his face "I could do so much damage if I do it."

Samus would come over to him, grabs his arm and pulls it closer against her chest. "You could never do that to me."

"Hmmmm…." Doomguy moves his hand up to touch the side of her face.

"I won't bring it up anymore. Just be sure you'll stay with me."

"I will."

And with that comes an end of this flashback. Piper calls his name a couple of times and even pokes him to get him back to reality. The sound of the gunshot from her gun was enough to wake him up. He looks forward to see Piper busy shooting at incoming ghouls coming down the stairs. Doomguy sighs and takes the lead on this with his axe in his right hand and his handgun on the left.

He moves up the stairs, shot an incoming ghoul to the chest three times and watch it fall down the stairs. As soon as he saw more up ahead in different door frames, Doomguy two of them and quickly resorts to the axe with both hands, while putting his handgun away. Piper stays back and shoots only the ones that try to attack him when his back is towards them. She would witness him slaughtering every last one of them, while ignoring some of the scars he took from the ghouls, then presses on until he reaches the top level of this building.

A stronger ghoul would appear at the top building, which was a glowing one with serious radiation coming off of it. The moment Doomguy saw it charging towards him, he switches to the double barrel and fires a shot to one of the legs to bring it down, then attempts to finish it with one good swing from his axe to strike through the face. He left the axe inside its body, and reloads his double barrel to shoot it again when seeing it was still alive and trying to attack. He pulls the axe out of the head and finishes it off with a good shot at close range through the head to finish it.

"Guess you've got yourself a new toy to play with." Piper replies with a smirk on her face.

Doomguy reloads his double barrel when looking back to her and says nothing back to her. Piper would ask about his past encounters with the monsters from Hell. "Do these remind you of the monsters you fought?"

Doomguy looks down at the dead ghoul and responds "These things are nothing compare to the ones I fought." Then he looks forward and walks towards the end of the room to see if he could find anything valuable to find.

They found nothing valuable inside the building for Doomguy to use, but he did find a chest in another room that contains only two armour pieces where one was light and the other was heavy. He decides to sell them when he finds a merchant to trade and sell the caps for bullets. When all is done here, the two leave this place and continue where they left off.

With his new axe, Doomguy continues to use it against whatever is up ahead. He kills off a few ghouls, giant bugs and some feral dogs along the way with the axe. For a weapon that remain inside that case for two hundred years, the axe is really sharp enough to cleave through almost anything. Everything was in the clear after that, and the two find themselves reaching to the front entrance to Goodneighbor.

As soon as the two came into Goodneighbor, one stupid man thought it was a good idea to get in front of Doomguy and plan to threaten him if he refuse to hand everything over.

"Hey, hold up there. First time in Goodneighbor? Can't go walking around without insurance." The bald man says to him

"Insurance?" Doomguy asks

"You have over everything you got in them pockets, or 'accidents' start happening to ya. Big, bloody, 'accidents'."

Doomguy was not liking that, so he straight him punches him in the face so hard he drops down on one knee and covers his face. That punch was strong enough to break his nose and leave him in a bloody state to his face. Doomguy was about to walk around him, but someone else in the distance decides to step in this conversation.

"Time out. Now would look at what you got yourself into. Someone steps through the gate the first time, they're a guest. You lay off that extortion crap."

Hancock, the mayor of Goodneighbor comes in with a laugh at what he saw from the distance and stands next to the bald man "You better let this go." Hancock says to him

He rises back up, spits out the blood and looks towards Hancock "This has nothing to do with you!" And so he decides to turn towards Doomguy with a gun and ready to shoot him right here in front of everyone. Before Doomguy was ready to draw out his gun to fire back at him, Hancock intervenes by pulling his arm down to prevent him from aiming the gun towards him, then proceeds to stab him repeatedly in the back and drops him to the floor.

"Now look what you made me do, huh? Breaking my heart over here with that bullshit." Hancock looks back towards Doomguy and asks "You all right, brother?"

Doomguy lowers his gun and stares at Hancock's face. There was a moment where he remembers the past when he once fought zombies with faces worse than that. He asks him "Your face…"

"Like it? I think it gives me a sexy, king of the zombies kind of look. Big hit with the ladies. I'm a Ghoul, you see? Lot of walking rad freaks like me around here, so you might want to keep those kinds of questions on the low burner next time. Goodnaighbor's of the people, for the people, you feel me? Everyone's welcome."

"Thank you for that." Piper replies "Were just here looking for someone."

"Well, feel free to look around and spend some of your caps here. Everyone's welcome." Hancock turns back and walks away.

Daisy walks up to Doomguy and asks "Let's hope we can find Sonja. Hey, you alright?"

Doomguy remain looking up at the store in front of him that says 'Daisy's Discount'. He mutters the word "Daisy…." Then turns away and turns towards the store next to it.

"Something wrong there, blue?" Piper asks him

"It's nothing… I had a pet named Daisy."

"Oh?"

Doomguy enters the shop of Guns, Guns, Guns, and trades in all of the junk he no longer needs and spends the rest of caps on ammo for his weapons. While he was doing that, Piper went back outside the store and asks someone about something about Goodneighbor.

Meanwhile, Sonja was done sleeping for a couple of hours and found Dogmeat still beside her and protecting her. She takes her leave from the hotel, there she stops when she bumps into Doomguy and Piper all the sudden.

"You're joking… You're here too?"

"Hello to you too, Sonja." Piper replies

Sonja sighs and puts on her helmet "It didn't take you that long to get out of Diamond City. And I take it you already know who I am?"

"You're with the ARC." Doomguy replies

"Former member of the ARC. My time with them is over for me. Are you here to bring me back to them?" Sonja asks and slowly touches the handle of her gun

Doomguy notices her ready to quick draw, but replies "I'm not here for that. I'm here for your dog."

"Dogmeat?" Sonja looks to her dog then back to them "What do you want?"

"We may have a lead to track down the man who could've kidnapped his family, but we need Dogmeat to catch the scent."

"Is that right. Well, I better get paid for this."

"How much?"

"Hmmmmm, 350 caps would work for me."

"That's going to be a problem because he already spent all of his caps on ammo." Piper replies and looks to Doomguy to see him turn his head away with annoyance.

"Well, I guess you'll have to come back when you have enough caps for me." Sonja takes Dogmeat and walks away from the both of them.

Doomguy looks back to her and asks "What if I trade you all my weapons and ammo? Would that work?"

Sonja stops and thought about it for a moment. She looks back to him and replies "Your weapons will probably not even reach over fifty caps, but the number of ammo you've got could work."

"Wait, you can't give up everything you own." Piper says to him

"I'll fight without them. Easy."

"Look, it doesn't what you sell as long as you give me the caps for the journey." Sonja turns forward and walks straight to the store with the others following her.

Doomguy returns to sell off his double barrel and the rest of his shells to the shop owner. He was only halfway with all the ammo he got along the way, so he sold his pistol and the rest of the ammo from the pistol, and other different cases of bullets he found from other dead bodies. He thought he would have to sell his axe, but this was enough for him to collect three hundred and fifty caps for Sonja to collect.

While he was doing that, Piper and Sonja remain outside the store and talks to one another.

Sonja asks first "How much do you know of him?"

"Quite a lot. It's a little complicated because of his story he told me. He told me he was part of a war before this one even started. He said the UAC was responsible for that."

"The UAC? They became active a couple of decades ago."

"That's not what he said. I believe him, especially the one where he says he fought monsters from another world."

Sonja laughs under the helmet "You're kidding?"

"After what we both saw out there, it's possible."

"Hmmmm." Sonja looks back to Doomguy to see him coming out with the caps she requires "Is it accurate?"

"Yes."

Sonja takes all of his caps and replies "This is the Commonwealth after all, so you can't expect to get everything. It's all about survival and caps are important to everyone."

"Your dog better catch the scent of this." Doomguy offers her the cigarette he stole from Kellogg's house.

"Dogmeat can track anything." Sonja looks back to Dogmeat and crouches down to offer the cigar to smell "Smell the scent. You're in charge now."

As soon as Dogmeat caught the scent, he makes a run for it out of Goodneighbor and forces the group to chase after him. The search was underway to find Kellogg. They left the place and start moving back to the west near Diamond City.

Unfortunately, the search would come to a stop when the team encounters the same ARC Troopers from Diamond City. Bobbi No-Nose was with them, and the moment both sides saw each other, both stop for a moment and took a few seconds for both sides to realise what was in front of them.

"It's her… The target."

"Oh shit…" Sonja quickly drew her gun and starts firing a few rounds at the heavy trooper in the power suit.

Everyone quickly got into cover when the man in the power armour starts spinning the minigun and release a barrage of bullets towards them. The rest of the troopers move into position for cover, while Bobbi decides to stay out of this and watches the fight from a distance.

"That ugly freak betrayed me!" Sonja replies and comes out of cover to fire, but quickly hides when they start shooting back at him.

Doomguy takes out his axe and replies "I'll be back." Then turns away and runs out of the combat

"Hey, hey! Where you going?" Piper asks him and force to lower herself further down when seeing some of the bullets almost piercing her body.

The medium troopers stops firing and calls for the others to stop firing. "Cease fire! Cease fire! You can come with us alive or come inside a body bag. Which do you choose?"

Sonja sighs and looks to Piper "Take care of Dogmeat for me." And then she gets out of cover, fired a few more shots at one of the light infantry and injures his body with two bullets piercing his skin. She quickly runs to the side and succeeds in jumping into a building through barricade window.

Piper held onto Dogmeat to prevent him from leaving her side, while the other troopers start firing at the building in the attempt of injuring Sonja. The light trooper tends to the one who got shot, while the medium and heavy decides to pursue Sonja into the building.

This was also a chance for Doomguy to come back with his axe ready to swing at his attackers. He got around them to attack them from behind. The light trooper saw him coming straight at him, but was too late to stop his incoming swing through the head and kills him instantly. The one who was hurt tries to shoot back, but he too would take a blow by his axe by taking it through the neck.

After the two are down, Doomguy takes one of their guns, which was a 20mm submachinegun and runs towards the other two troopers. Bobbi decides to interfere to prevent Doomguy from attacking the others, so she fires her gun and succeeds in hitting him in the left leg twice and another bullet through his left arm. Piper interferes and fires her gun towards Bobbi, forced her to get into cover when she took a bullet through the chest. Dogmeat saw this a good time to charge in and charges towards Bobbi to attack her for betraying Sonja.

The medium trooper turns around when hearing the gunshots happening behind, noticed Doomguy running towards him with his axe ready to spill more blood. Just as he aims his gun towards Doomguy, Doomguy shoots back by firing the last few rounds from that 20mm submachinegun to damage the gun the man was holding, then switches to his axe to swing down at him. The trooper avoids the incoming swing and uses his broken weapon as a melee weapon to smack Doomguy across the face. After the hit to the face, Doomguy catches the gun with his left hand and swings the axe with his right hand to pierce through the left side of the trooper's neck.

Meanwhile, the last trooper in the power armour was still pursuing Sonja and came smashing through the wall in order to enter the interior. Sonja was still inside the building, so she came out of cover to throw the grenade at the power armour and returns to cover to lie flat on the ground to avoid the incoming bullets from the minigun. The explosion from the grenade would damage the power armour, but the man inside would remain still alive and starts firing everything in the room in hoping of hitting Sonja through the walls. Doomguy finally comes in by hitting the man in the back with the axe, which did little to damage the armour and seriously damage the sharp ends of the axe. Doomguy tosses the axe to the side, so now it is going to be a hand to hand fight between the two of them the moment the trooper decides to face him.

There was no time to reload the minigun, so the trooper drops the gun onto the floor and kicks Doomguy back against the wall. He comes in with a strong punch from his right hand, but Doomguy ducks on time to have that arm punch straight through the wall, while Doomguy comes to the side to land two punches against the side of the armour, then backs away as soon as the man swings his right arm towards him. Doomguy comes closer and attempts to actually land a hard punch to the face of the power armour with just his bare hand. A punch like that would definitely break someone's hand and deliver serious ruptures of his fingers, but Doomguy was no ordinary human because he could easily punch and rip apart so many Demons with those hands of his. The punch was actually strong enough to push the trooper backwards, but not enough to bring him back.

The fight would end here when Piper interferes with a grenade she stole from one of the dead troopers. She tosses it right under the trooper's legs and have it explode in front of him. Doomguy saw Piper with the grenade and moves backwards to avoid the incoming explosion that finally brings the trooper down for the count. As soon as he was down, Piper fires a few more shots to make sure he was not getting back up.

With the battle finally over, everyone could finally take a breather. Doomguy sighs over this battle and looks to his right hand, noticed it shaken by the serious punch he did to that power armour.

"Are you okay?" Piper asks him

Doomguy closes his eyes and looks back to her "I'm fine."

Dogmeat runs past Piper to search for Sonja. She came walking out of the building with some injuries, and has been using her stimpaks to replenish her health. Piper had a stimpak of her own, but chooses to offer it to Doomguy as seeing he went through more damage than Piper.

"Good thing I had these with me…" Sonja replies and looks back to Dogmeat to pat him. "You alright, Dogmeat?"

He barks happily and enjoys her patting his head. Sonja replies "So glad you're alright."

After Doomguy uses the stimpak, he goes to retrieve the axe, then takes a two hundred round case for the minigun.

"I can't believe you punched that guy in the armour…" Piper replies when approaching him "You going to be alright?"

"I'll live." Doomguy looks to his left and walks over to pick up the minigun. He smiles happily at the sight of another old friend of his arsenal making its return.

Sonja sighs over the loss of the ARC Troopers and start taking equipment off the bodies. She also approaches the body of Bobbi and shoots her corpse for this betrayal, then steals her gun with only a single magazine for the submachinegun. The other gun from the medium trooper was useless thanks to Doomguy damaging it with the shooting, so she hopes of taking that and selling it later with the bullets. She also offers Piper the 20mm submachinegun from one of the troopers and asks Doomguy to offer her some extra bullets for the gun. As soon as everyone was done with the ammo and weapons check, they look back to Dogmeat and asks him to continue the search for Kellogg.
