"So, going after the Institute would require help from a powerful faction in the Commonwealth. The ARC and the Brotherhood of Steel could be the best bet, but you want to go after the ARC, don't you?" Piper says to him
"That's my only option." Doomguy replies
"Well, since Kellogg is dead, and his information about the Institute is completely gone forever… The ARC and the UAC are probably the best chances of learning about the Institute."
"Are you sure you want to start a war with them? You have no idea how powerful they really are." Sonja says to Doomguy
"They've never met me before."
"Maybe you shouldn't start a war with them." Piper replies "Maybe your best chances are to join the Brotherhood of Steel or maybe join the ARC. Would you really consider killing all those people just to reach the UAC? What exactly would you do if you made it into the UAC?"
Doomguy thought to himself and turns away from the others to think. He looks back to Sonja and asks "Why did you leave the ARC?"
Sonja crosses her arms and sighs "I joined them to help people. But in time I realise they're just helping themselves. They have the power as an authority to the Commonwealth, but they only show up and take what is required for them. Hmmm, they're just as the same as the Brotherhood."
"One way or another, I'll find a way into the Institute. And the UAC will fall next."
"They'll see you as a threat if you come kicking down their door, but I guess that's what you're looking for isn't it?" Sonja asks and he nods to her. She sighs and steps closer to him "They'll stand in your way of destroying the UAC, so if you want to challenge them first, you'd best go here. I'll mark it on your Pip-Boy."
Sonja examines the world map on his Pip-Boy and marks a location that is so far away from where they are right now. She replies "That's one of the ARC bases in the Commonwealth. I don't know what you'll do there, but I don't want to know."
"That's where I'll go. Thanks."
And so it is here where Sonja says her farewell to the others and went her separate way. Both she and Dogmeat say farewell to the two and depart by going north that would lead them back home to Red Rocket. Since Piper and Doomguy are going in the same direction towards Diamond City, Piper stays by his side for the time being until they reach the city.
Meanwhile, as soon as the Brotherhood of Steel came into the scene with its large airship and the support of aircrafts, the ARC also begun moving their forces into positions when expecting a large fight is about to happen that would change the fate of leadership into the Commonwealth. While the ARC has already been controlling some areas across the Commonwealth and slowly taking full control of Diamond City, both sides would show to have no love towards the Institute, which has become a problem lately to the people. Both sides have already start communicating with one another, and Elder Maxson is starting to negotiate a peaceful solution towards the ARC in order to avoid bloodshed towards them as they wish to target only the Institute.
Back between Piper and Doomguy, the two continues the walk back to Diamond City. Before they left this area of the fort, they found some raiders wondering around the area and got into a gunfight with the group. After killing the raiders inside a half intact building, Doomguy found another double barrel and some ammunitions and clothing to cover his upper body. He now wears a leather jacket with red shirt underneath for the time being.
"So… Still think you can take on the ARC by yourself?" Piper asks him, after he was done putting some new clothes
Doomguy looks to her and replies "I would've gone after them eventually."
"But you're going after the ARC, the UAC and the Institute… You can't really consider fighting all those powerful factions all by yourself."
"The UAC are the real threat. They'll start the apocalypse again if they're left unchecked. If the ARC won't do it then I will."
Suddenly, both of them look up in the sky when hearing the noise of a helicopter flying nearby. They find a VTOL helicopter that belongs to the ARC flying over the two and flies straight towards the location of the dead Cyber-Baron. Piper and Doomguy go out to investigate and find the VTOL made a short landing to deploy several light troopers to secure the dead creature and wrap chains around it to connect it to the bottom of the bird.
"So they're the ones that made that abomination." Piper replies quietly when watching them wrap chains around the Cyber-Baron. "They're turning them into their own weapons."
As they continue to watch, the VTOL takes flight without the troopers as soon as the connection is secure and takes off back into the sky with the dead Baron hanging underneath it. The troopers would remain behind and begin their patrol that would take them to the city. Once they saw enough, Piper and Doomguy depart from the area and decide not to engage them.
"Still think they're a problem to the Commonwealth?" Piper asks him
Doomguy keeps walking and replies "Yes." He soon stops to look back at the helicopter flying out of here. He was getting angry at the sight, knowing that either the ARC or the UAC will restore that Baron and bring it back. This is the exact same issue as what happen last time when they try to turn the dead demons into weapons.
After the events where Doomguy succeeds in saving Earth from the demons, the UAC was on the final stage of collapse, and the surviving members took shelter on the last UAC facility on Earth. They did attempt to bribe the government with experimental demons and hope to use them as weapons to fight against the demons if another invasion occurs. Doomguy takes part of this operation as his last mission to exterminate the UAC forever. In the end, all of the research and experiments into hell was completely gone when Doomguy shows up to wipe everyone out. The terrible organisation was completely gone and the long peace could finally begin.
That helicopter took the dead Cyber-Baron to an ARC Carrier away from the Commonwealth where the scientists could examine the body and see if they could reanimate the body again through cybernetic augmentation again. They also remove the chip from the head to find out what took it out, and it was here they see the faces of the three that fought it together. They discover Sonja was involve with two people, so now the ARC adds two more faces on the list of targets to search for.
As the two arrive at Diamond City, Piper says her farewell to Doomguy and wishes him luck for what he must do next. She returns to the city to begin writing her report on his story and his life before the war. He would return to being himself as he always does. He checks the Pip-Boy again and begins his long journey out of the city.
His journey would lead him to the fighting pit by accident. Wherever he goes, he is force to draw out his gun and shoots them dead. He shows no mercy to anyone that tries to shoot him. He decides to enter the building to find a large group of people inside, enjoying themselves at the fight they see in the arena.
There was a fight between two people wearing armour in the arena and using weapons like this was a battle between gladiators. When Doomguy was getting closer, he pauses when his eyes stare at one of the competitors. This man was a champion in this arena and performing well against his opponent, who was wearing rusty armour and leather clothing underneath. The champion was wearing a particular armour that got Doomguy's full attention, and was making him angry because this champion is actually wearing his armour.
It was a full classic green armour with a classic grey helmet, green body armour with a green shirt underneath, green pants and black boots, then a dozen small packs around his waist. He was dumbfound at what he is seeing, and surprise this armour still exist in this time. He is unsure if that is actually HIS armour or armour from the Space Marines. One thing for certain, he wants that armour.
After his fight with Cait was over, he walks off the stage, celebrating this victory with his comrades that was cheering for him the whole way and applauding to him too. When he arrives at the bar counter, he puts his helmet down and asks for two bottles of beer and a cigarette. When he got what he wants, he looks to the others, then turns to the side and spots Doomguy approaching him. The others would look towards him as well when realising he is an unwelcome visitor.
Doomguy walks up to the imposter and replies calmly "I need your clothes, your boots and your armour."
Hearing that made everyone laugh out loud at what he said. The imposter steps closer to Doomguy and replies with a smiling grin on his face "You forgot to say please." Then inhales his cigarette and exhales that smoke into his face, which did absolutely nothing to make him flinch or blink. He also decide to hit the front of his chest with the cigarette, which also did nothing to make him feel anything. The imposter was not laughing or smiling anymore as this man in front of him was not here to play games.
Doomguy looks down at what he did, then back to the imposter and grabs his arm. His strength from his right hand was enough to force the man back and actually twist his arm too. Irritated, the imposter manage to break free from the strong grip and attacks Doomguy by punching him across his face with everything he got. However, the imposter was dumbfound to realise Doomguy looks unfazed at that attack. Just as he was about to land another punch, Doomguy attacks first by punching him straight through into his gut with his left hand to actually bring his fist on the other side of the man's body. The imposter was completely frozen and shock that he has no idea this man just ran his fist all the way through his gut and through the other side. When Doomguy pulls his left hand out of his body, the imposter drops down to his knees and coughs out blood. As he looks up at Doomguy, he attacks him by lowering himself down to land an uppercut punch from his right hand to send the imposter flying backwards onto the floor.
Everyone else in the room was dumbfound at what just happen. But as soon as one of them shouts out "Kill him!" Everyone got up and drew their guns to shoot at the man who just took out their champion.
Some people like Cait got out of the way when the shooting starts. Doomguy did not hold back and drew out his guns to shoot back against everyone that try to shoot him. In the end, he was left standing over the bodies of those who thought it was a good idea to shoot him, while he remain standing there with some bullet holes in his body, but he remain standing.
A good stimpak was enough to help him out and suddenly cause his body to slowly regenerate and leave the holes to be completely gone.
"Is it… Is it safe to come out now?" Tommy the owner of the Combat Zone replies. He was hiding inside the cage with his partner Cait, where neither of them want to get involve in the whole shooting spree he did to everyone.
"Oh just peek your head up, ya damn coward." Cait replies and spits out blood. The hits she took in that fight against the imposter really did damage to her body.
Doomguy checks the area first to avoid any chance of anyone willing to draw their gun towards him. Only four people remain inside the building, so only two of them decide to run out of here and leave Cait and Tommy inside the cage. With everything in the clear, Doomguy returns to retrieve the clothes and armour from the pretender and leave him naked with just his underwear still on him.
"I… I think it's over. Well, that could've gone worse." Tommy replies when sitting beside Cait
Cait laughs and replies "I don't know… Seemed quite the performance from where I was."
"Are you fucking high or something? Why am I asking, of course you are." Tommy says to her with anger and unhappy towards her. He stands up and notice Doomguy stripping that man's clothes and puts it altogether on the desk.
"Hey, if that green bastard wasn't wearing that armour –"
"Doesn't matter anymore now. This one just put us out of business." Tommy steps away from Cait to get closer against the steel bars of the cage to watch Doomguy. He says to him "Do you have any idea what you have caused here? They weren't the friendliest bunch but keeping those idiots entertained at least kept the lights on."
Doomguy looks to Tommy for a moment and says nothing to him. He got to work removing his clothes and starts changing right here in front of the two.
"Damn…" Cait got up off the floor and comes beside Tommy to watch him strip. She still looks hurt over that fight and keeps one arm around her gut. "This was a loss for me but this turned out okay."
Tommy sighs and leans his hand against his face for a few seconds. When he lowers it, he looks back at Doomguy and asks "Hey, who the heck are you?"
Doomguy looks to him and replies "Taking back what belongs to me." And after that he looks around the room for a moment to look at the dead bodies. He spots a combat shotgun and walks over to take it off a dead raider.
He walks out of the building in his full classic armour with his combat shotgun in one hand. He was just like what he was when fighting against the demons in hell. What made it even funnier is his original green shirt had a torn on his gut to expose his abs, and his punch into the man gave him the exact same hole in the shirt to show off his abs again. He was himself again.
Before he goes straight towards the ARC, another issue was nearby that he had to take care of, which was the cry for help on his Pip-Boy from Trinity Tower. A distress signal was nearby and was coming to the Trinity Tower, and someone was calling for help to save them from Super Mutants that own the entire tower. Doomguy decides to help and see this as a chance to purge an entire tower full of Super Mutants.
Entering the tower was easy where he found only a few standing watch at the entrance. Getting inside through an elevator he encounters a large group of them all around him on both high ground and coming out of the nearby rooms. He starts off with the revolver, but as soon as he ran out of ammo, he switches to the double barrel and found out these Super Mutants have a serious resistance that a single shot is not going to put them down. Some of them attempt to attack him directly, with one thought it was a good idea to hit him with a board, which did absolutely nothing to him and responds by blowing its head off. Only the stronger ones put up a better fight, with one lasting much longer, after Doomguy got closer enough to actually cripple one of the legs with one punch and another to break its jaw.
His final challenge would be the last Super Mutant standing above all at the top of the power. He decides to bring in a modify version of the minigun and surprises Doomguy the moment he made eye contact with it. He spins up the minigun and tore through the floors and walls, while Doomguy had to get out of the way and draw him downstairs to trap it. He would find some grenades and a mine to be use to damage the Super Mutant, which was super easy because it was only focusing on Doomguy and ignoring the explosive damage done to its body. Doomguy found the chance of bringing this boss down as soon as it tries reloading the minigun, by running towards the Super Mutant with his double barrel and blasts a hole through its expose chest, then drops the gun to proceed landing a few blows across the face to leave his even uglier. Doomguy finishes it off with one good punch to knock him to the floor, then wraps it up by picking up his double barrel, reloading the weapon and fires both shells through the face to end it.
The fight was finally over, Doomguy reclaims another minigun and made it to the top to rescue the man who sent out the distress signal. His name is Rex.
"Thank got you found us. Quickly! Get us out of here." Rex said, while still in a panic
"More of my brothers will be here soon." Said another prisoner. The second prisoner reveals himself to be a Super Mutant the moment it came into his sight. "They know a human is attacking the tower."
Doomguy aims the minigun towards the one standing behind Rex and asks "What's he doing in there?"
"It's okay. He's a prisoner too." Rex says to him "Look, he's gentle as a lamb. Okay, maybe a psychotic, overly muscle lamb. But I swear you are in no danger."
"Every mutant is my enemy." Doomguy replies and looks towards the one standing behind Rex
"Strong will not hurt human if human rescues Strong and Rex." The mutant replies
"See. Strong here has a new purpose in life." Rex said "I came here to teach these poor, ignorant creature's culture. I started with Macbeth." He then sighs and continues "I guess they found it funny. All of them except Strong here."
"Strong learn secret to human power from Mack Beth." Strong replies "Milk of human kindness. Strong will find milk. Strong will drink milk. Strong will have secret power of humans."
"Yes, yes. Of course you will. When they grew tired of taunting me, they threw me in here but little did they know there was a radio in here."
"They know." Strong replies "You bait to catch more humans."
"What?" Rex turns around to face Strong and asks "Why didn't you tell me?"
Strong scratches the top of his head with his right hand and replies "Strong thought you know."
"See what I have to work with?" Rex turns towards Doomguy, while he just sighs with annoyance about this dilemma. Rex continues "I've promised Strong to help him find the milk of human kindness if we get out of here."
"He could be looking for a cure…" Doomguy thought to himself, then replies to Rex "I'll let you out. But I'll kill him if he attacks." He then drops the minigun on the floor and attempts to break the door open with just one good kick. He kicks down the door the moment the two are standing out of the way.
After freeing the two, Doomguy picks up his minigun and turns around to hear voices of more Super Mutants entering the scene. One of them was shouting out "I'm going to feast on your flesh, human!"
Doomguy responds to that by spinning up the minigun and rips through two incoming Super Mutants with so many holes through their bodies. Both are left crying out in pain when trying to absorb all of that damage until they could no longer take it anymore and die. He then turns the gun towards Strong to see him still standing there with no interest in fighting unless he pulls the trigger.
"Follow Strong. He knows the best way down off this cursed tower." Rex said and moves out of the away.
"Go to lift. Go fast, humans." Strong ignores the thread of the minigun and goes straight towards the nearby lift
At first he was hesitant to follow this mutant's lead, but he decide to go for it anyway and keep a watchful eye on him. Of course, his plan did work on lowering them further down the tower and give Doomguy a chance to surprise the others with his minigun killing the reinforcements. Not a single one of them could survive, and his minigun stays active throughout most of this firefight until he finally ran out of ammo. As soon as he got off the lift, he switches to the double barrel and fights at close range to target the head of the Super Mutants. He then switches to the laser rifle when running out of shells and succeeds in wiping out every mutant in the tower. All that was left is Strong.
Doomguy was not going to have Strong as a companion, so he decide to spare his life and let him go. This was the first time he actually shows mercy to a supposedly enemy. Rex knew where to go from here, so Doomguy departs from the area and continues his task to search for the ARC.
The location that Sonja on his Pip-Boy is the National Guard training yard where it was originally an old military base, but has been rebuilt by the ARC and is a base of operations in the Commonwealth. Soldiers would come and go from this location and secure a large area around the base to keep it under their control. Some settlements around the area have made an alliance with the ARC for protection in exchange for some food supplies from the settlements. As for now, all ARC Troopers are now facing off against the Super Mutants in the Revere satellite array in the east of their location.
There has been a struggle between both sides as the Super Mutants have become such a problem to the base lately. At first the ARC was unable to make a move on them because the lack of troopers at the base, plus the Super Mutants carry enough firepower to do serious damage to them in three major attacks. The first contact they lost a helicopter when it flew over them and was shot down by a direct hit from a rocket launcher, and then their ground troops were caught off guard when they try to secure the crash site. The second attempt they had to fall back when they discover the leader of the Super Mutants was carrying a Fat Boy and manage to kill an entire platoon of thirty men with one shot. The third attempt they succeed in wiping out half of the mutants at the satellite, but the leader was still here and shot the last mini nuke to force them to retreat.
When Doomguy arrives at the base, the troopers have already left the area to engage whatever is left of the Super Mutants. He saw a perfect VTOL helicopter on the ground with a single pilot inside, so he chooses to simply walk into the base without anyone seeing him and goes inside the helicopter to interrogate the pilot. The man was busy inspecting the controls and would hear someone approaching him from behind. As he turns his head to the side, he is shock to find a shotgun aiming to his face and a man wearing armour he has never seen before.
"I'm not going to kill you. I want to know the UAC facility. Where is it?"
The pilot raise both his hands up and leans his head back when the gun was getting closer to his face. He tries to reply to him "P-Please, y-you don't want to do this."
"Where is the nearest UAC facility? I need to know."
The pilot would not give him the answer he wants. But then he notice something was happening behind him when he saw a split second of the pilot turning his eyes to the side to look behind him as another trooper of the base was slowly entering the scene. Doomguy sense this was coming and drew his revolver to fires a shot through the right leg of that trooper to bring him down to the floor in pain, then looks back at the pilot and hits him when seeing him grabbing for his gun.
"I need a pilot to take me there. You will do as I say."
"O-Ok. O-Ok." The pilot nods and allows Doomguy to take the sidearm off of him. He also kicks the other trooper off the helicopter and leave the pilot to start it up again to take off.
Since Doomguy cannot operate the VTOL himself, he sits beside the pilot and makes sure he flies this to one of many UAC locations. As they were flying over the satellite area to find the Super Mutants still fighting against the troopers, Doomguy decides to leave his seat and use this chance to finally use the Fat Boy. The back hatch was already open, he stands closer to the edge and aims at the top of the satellite where he expects the leader is standing on. As soon as he could see the troopers are not present inside the kill zone, Doomguy finally fires a shot and watches as almost the entire area lights up in a flash of light that almost incinerates all of the Super Mutants. The damage would bring the entire place to collapse and leave all Super Mutants dead.
