Chapter 45: The Royal Rally (Part 1)

*THE NEXT DAY*

"Interstellar Grand Showers!"

*BOOM* *BOOM* *BOOM* *BOOM*

"He's stunned! Go now, Alexis!"

"Taste this, you dunderhead!"

*POW* *POW* *POW* *POW* *POW* *POW* *POW*

"All yours, Kaze! Finish it!"

"HAAAAAHHH!"

*SLICE SOUND*

*BOOM*

"*pant* Woah… that was quite a combination." I said while being fatigued from training at the training center.

"Well, duh. It's definitely our development that's kicking in." Alexis said. "You really must be tired from doing all that, huh?"

"I never get fatigued. But when it comes to fighting, I never thought I would be this fatigued."

"You still did a lot though. I never thought a rookie such as yourself would get this engaged before. And here I thought Scarlett was the only person that would be strong in training."

"I am strong." Scarlett said with a sweatdrop. "It's just… Kaze surprises me with her attacks that not even you can do. In a way."

"But all she does is magic like yourself. She would've been even nastier had she been a fighter. Likely because she's been studying this for a long time."

"Fighting can be brutal." I said. "Had I done this to Raffina or Rulue, they really would go all out. But that was just me showing you who I truly am."

"I mean, gosh, saying that makes me wonder if you are really the key to this whole… story or whatever. I mean with our energy, speed and power, capturing these stones would be a no-brainer for us. If you didn't recruit any bullies."

"I… don't recruit bullies." I said with a sweatdrop.

"Despite our energy, speed and power, we're not gonna know what's there." Scarlett said. "I understand that the Mushroom Kingdom is gonna be a breeze for us since we already know that these enemies are gonna be easy, but it's still likely that new reinforcements are stepping in. You can say that their whole setup means it'll be a whole new ballgame."

"How do you know about all of this? I thought you were only interested in books." I said to Scarlett.

"I not only pay attention to supernatural stuff like you always have, but I also study game-plan and war-like strategies as well. Mom always taught me those things in the past and she was always relying on me because I've learned a lot from her. She was glad that she had me as an assistant."

"You were planning war-like strategies? What, were you trying to be a commander or something?" Alexis asked.

"No, although you may think I'm working hard to be like one. As an HGU like myself, I have to make sure that not only I work hard, but to make sure people are not in grave danger. We wouldn't want to let our world be irrelevant with the population declining."

"Well… I guess I can't be too much of a burden."

The next day I was in Hyperdrive City, training with Alexis and Scarlett to not only get prepared for our huge mission, but to spend some time that's given to me before Royal Rally night. Last night, I told my mother about it and shockingly, she's going to be watching it live. She said that she was getting more and more curious about it and wants to watch how it plays out. She told me I could go there, but she then tells me that I have to use the telecator because she doesn't feel like driving to the event and driving back. It would be too much for her. So we both decided to stick with it. For now, while we're waiting on that, It was just the three of us beating some baddies down. Darius, Kris, and Zack were doing the same, but they were in the other area. Their chances of dominating enemies would be high. Probably because they are athletic. At least… I think one of them looks athletic.

"I think it's time we check on our brothers to see if…" Scarlett then covered her mouth. Not noticing that I don't have one.

"You think Kaze is part of the family?" Alexis asked with a sweatdrop.

"You don't need to feel embarrassed, Scarlett." I said to her. "I understand what you're trying to say, although it is confusing."

"I'm not embarrassed. Let's say it's just human error."

Scarlett said.

"Oh, I bet it is human error for you."

We looked behind to see that Darius, Kris and Zack were standing right behind us, now finished with their training.

If they were done a long time ago. I think they are the stronger ones.

"Is that a problem, Darius?" Scarlett asked.

"I didn't say it was a problem. It's just we're way quicker. And athletic. We could be the ones that do all the work, you know?" Darius said.

"But it's all of us that are working together. Not just you boys." Scarlett said.

"Legitimately, you couldn't let us girls do a service because you think we have low experiences."

"I wouldn't say that. Not in front of Kaze." Darius said.

"You could say there would be 10 of us taking it step by step while having the experience of other dimensions." Zack said.

"But as us boys, we definitely deal tons of damage. We war ready now! That's a fact!"

"Definitely war ready!" Kris said.

"But isn't the Mushroom Kingdom gonna be difficult? We don't even know what it's like over there." Alexis said.

"I'm guessing this could lead to some confusion." I said. "Especially in the other worlds that other villains are in."

"Well they aren't gonna know us, but we know them. It's just we have two girls who don't know jack about their power or what they do."

"Who asked for your opinion?!" Alexis yelled.

"*sigh* What am I supposed to do with them?" Scarlett asked me.

"I have no idea. I guess you are stuck with boys that are jokesters." I said.

"True…"

"As much as I would love some more entertainment, I want to ask you, Kaze. How is your recruiting coming along?" Zack asked.

"We're making a lot of progress so far." I said. "It's still questionable if they are going to accept though. Finding one more is tough so me and Blue might have to be aggressive for this one. I may not have alot of friends but that doesn't mean all hope is lost."

"So I'm predicting it's gonna take a while." Alexis said with a sweatdrop.

"It sounds like you're trying to be greedy." Kris added. "Are you like trying to form a juggernaut squad or something?"

"N-No. I'm positive they all aren't powerful like the rest of you." I said.

Especially Candace unless I'm mistaken.

"Powerful? So you mean you just recruited people who have no experience in video games or anime?" Darius asked.

"Well I heard one person talk about… um… oh, "Wii Sports". I'm thinking it's the term "Wii" so I'm guessing it's a video game."

"So just one person plays the Wii while the other doesn't?"

"I know what one person likes doing and don't know what the other likes. In fact… It's the only time that I got to meet up with that person."

"It's too late now… I think that's two people you recruited, right?" Scarlett asked.

"That's right."

"We just gotta hope that this alliance will fit. We can't be slothful."

"I'm positive it won't. Hopefully after today and before the start of the adventure."

"I sure hope so. Because I'm about to back out from all of this if the energy doesn't match ours." Darius said.

"Quit whining. It's not like she has girls on her side or anything." Alexis said, looking annoyed.

"She only has one on her team. Almost looks like a frickin' hot chick or something."

"Woah… hold on." Kris said, almost giggling.

"Blue would've been embarrassed at what you said had she come here." I said with a sweatdrop.

"No she wouldn't. You don't think she's a hot chick?" Darius asked.

"Perhaps she looks "nice". But not a hot chick."

"Well either way, I still think that way."

"I hope you don't overwhelm her with such "Hot Chick" type of activities." Scarlett said.

"I wasn't planning on that! I'm saying that since day one, she looks like a hot chick. That don't mean I'm gonna do something that teenagers do most of the time."

"I'm guessing one of the things is the obvious, right?" Zack asked.

"What's the obvious?"

"Kissing."

He really said that so nonchalantly.

"Well… yeah… That's one I could think of at the moment."

"How did you manage to guess that?" Kris asked.

"I know a little bit of romance. I'm not really into that, though. Or rather… I wouldn't want to experience what it's like." Zack said.

"Still quite a shell-shocker that you still don't have a girlfriend." Alexis said with a cheeky smile.

"C-Come on, Alexis! It isn't like that!"

"Hahaha! Why you say it like that?" Darius said while laughing at him.

"It's embarrassing, man!"

"I guess I'm not alone." I said. "That leaves two of us who are embarrassed to make love."

"Well… to put it fairly, it will make sense. You just gotta stay loyal to your fellow friends and maybe one day you'll realize things will start to click." Kris said. "Just a friendly lesson."

"I'll take what you said. But romance is not for me. Yet."

"You don't have to jump the gun." Scarlett said. "Just take it little by little and you'll realize that you've finally shown your true feelings."

"You've also learned about romance?" I asked Scarlett.

"Well… I-It was something that I needed to take a chance at. N-Nothing was totally expected." Scarlett said in a panic.

"*sigh* It sure is gonna be a lot going on."

"Well… what do you wanna do now, Kaze?" Alexis asked.

"I guess I'm gonna call it a day here. I have some other things to take care of."

"Oh. Ok then."

"That training got you fatigued or what?" Darius asked.

"It did. It's also part of the reason why I'm gonna call it a day."

"Well there's always next time if you ever want to start training again." Scarlett said.

"Yeah. You don't have to force yourself to come back here. Even though the stone is coming in a few days. The first stone." Zack said.

"I won't forget about the people I've recruited." I said.

"Alright. See ya, Kaze!" Alexis said.

"Later, Kaze." Scarlett said.

"Peace out, Kaze." Darius said.

"I bid you adieu!" Kris said.

"Talk to you later!" Zack said.

"Bye guys! Tell Lunia I said I left!" I said after I activated a portal that showed my room.

"We will!" I heard Scarlett say.

I have now arrived back to my room where I went to Hyperdrive City from. After I've done so, I suddenly started noticing that my confidence started to rise thanks to the entertainment from my Hyperdrive City friends. Almost as if I was given lots of energy despite being exhausted from fighting baddies.

But speaking of confidence, I wonder if I might shift it over to the Royal Rally. I'm not a cheerful person, yes. But maybe having fun it's just the key to having lots of energy. Maybe it was something that I should have done in the past even though I'm not always into the events that interest me.

Maybe I should've… just to not make myself look like a dark person. Although attending that basketball event proved that I'm not a party-pooper.

"I'm home, mom!" I said as I was walking downstairs in the living room.

"Welcome back, my pumpkin. How did training go for you?" Mom said as she was sitting on the couch.

"Tiring. Especially when I have a group of friends that want me to put in that hard work."

"Well it's your job, isn't it? Training can be hard, but you're expecting yourself to become a true hero out of everyone. That's really what you wished for."

"I know that, but there was something else that had me exhausted."

"What was it?"

"Alexis wanted to do something called a "Triple Team Attack" with me and Scarlett. We were doing that like 7 or 8 times."

It's true. Don't question how.

"A… "Triple Team Attack"… I guess that makes sense."

"It does? To you?" I asked.

"Well, you three are girls so it does make sense to me. I noticed a cartoon show called "The Powerpuff Girls" where the three girls always stick together, do new types of attacks, combination attacks, etc. so I'm thinking you, Scarlett and Alexis can be a new version of them."

"Th-That's nice, but that's not up to me to decide that. Besides, we are nothing like them."

"I know. I'm just saying it makes sense to me because it reminds me of those three girls. I still have a memory of that show. *moan*"

"Was that really your favorite show?"

"Well, when I was a kid, yes. I had an addiction to that show and then afterwards I stopped at 13 because I got bored of it nowadays amid reruns."

"Oh… well, becoming a true hero is a lot for me though. It's Satan and Ecolo that got me doing this since they were claiming I am the mastermind's target. But I don't know his or her motives for wanting me."

"I don't understand either. Yes it's unclear he or she hasn't revealed him or herself in public, but knowing Satan and Ecolo, it's probable that they've gone through a long history with him or her."

"But Arle and Ringo also had a history with them so they would know what's going on. But for the two of them to engage in a villainous plan created by the mastermind tells me that the rumors could spread for the other worlds. But now they should be ready to face a common enemy."

"I know. But I don't know any of the dimensions except for the Mushroom Kingdom. I know who's going to lead the charge for that one."

"Yeah I know what you're thinking. He's definitely going to take over big time." I said.

Well Mario is a famous person after all. So it's likely Princess Peach is going to be in a very safe situation.

"I think the Mushroom Kingdom could definitely be a walk in the park with Mario being the key to protecting it." Mom said.

"Yeah. His friends could definitely be nothing without him. His heroic activities were so legendary."

"I can't believe an astonishing person like himself would be this immortal."

"Yeah."

"So. What are your plans? Do you still want to go to the Royal Rally?" Mom asked.

"Yeah. I don't know who's going to win though. Candace and Gemma are two of my friends after all so it's a bit difficult to decide."

"I know they are your friends, but didn't you decide that Candace was going to defeat Gemma? She's your answer right there." Mom said.

"True. But I'm still undecided on who's going to be the victor. It's going to be the toughest test. Even my heart is racing."

"You'll be alright. It's not like you're expecting to see or hear sunshines and rainbows or anything. Just breathe."

"I am. It's just… *sigh* I know for a fact that Gemma is going to pull off a miracle somehow. I just know it. I may be wrong, but that's what I'm feeling."

"But you voted for Candace though." Mom said.

"Yeah, I know that. But that was my prediction, Albeit my relationship for Candace is growing and that means there's a chance I could have her on my team in advance for supporting her in the Royal Rally. But hopefully this doesn't hit Gemma hard since I had to root for Candace."

"Kaze, it's ok. It's not always about harming relationships. Those two are just rivals, so it doesn't impact you. It's actually that you're being serene and laid-back to them. It's not gonna hurt you in a way. And besides, this is your first time in an event that you haven't discovered… like ever, so you shouldn't feel bad for not voting for someone you just met and liked. Ok?"

I guess what my mother says is right. Maybe I should have fun after all. I've never had fun since… I've been to Roller Rocket Racing. Yes I was at the party yesterday, but I was only doing that so that I could recruit Candace and Gemma. But if I have never spectated something that is really entertaining and interesting, then I should at least enjoy it and not think about the wrong moves I make because that would make me uncomfortable.

"Ok. I understand." I said as I gave in.

"Ok. Now we'll get prepared soon. You can go back outside if you want or you can rest." Mom said.

"I'll rest. I just trained so my body needs rest. Hopefully I don't drool."

"But you never drool, sweetie."

"I know, but one time when I was getting my lunar magic, I was drooling in my sleep. I felt so embarrassed." I said with an embarrassed look on my face.

"Well, there's nothing to be embarrassed about. It happens. Did you sleep well?"

"I don't remember if I was."

"What? Come on, it's gotta be a valid answer."

"*sigh* Yes. It was."

"See? That's all I was asking."

"Whatever. I'm going to rest now. You can wake me up when it's time." I said as I was going back upstairs to get some rest.

"Alright. Sweet dreams, pumpkin."

*sigh* Classic mom, of course.

*SEVERAL HOURS LATER*

After getting lots of rest, I was fully healthy and prepared for the biggest event of the evening with my clothes clean (I was wearing a purple shirt with a white on black peace sign in the middle, black jeans and purple and white sneakers), my bed clean and tidy, my telecator with me, and not only that, I texted Blue to see if she was ready. Everyone sure is ready for this big rematch. I'm a little nervous, but I'm making sure I have fun. In fact, the United Kingdom is my home so I hope I can liven up for this one. And have an evening I'll never ever forget.

I'm surprised that I'm trying new things here in the United Kingdom even though I want to focus on what I love to do the most. It also makes me joyful that I'm making a lot of friends. I don't talk about a lot of topics, but I feel more engaged although I'm quiet all the time. It's something that I'll have to keep up for the rest of my life, but that's not important right now.

The event starts in 10 minutes and I have everything ready. It's such an amazing feeling. I wonder how Candace and Gemma are gonna fare this year.

Even though I still believe Gemma is gonna be way too much for Candace.

"Looks like someone is prepared already." Mom said as she was entering my room.

"Yeah. I can't resist wanting entertainment. And it's thanks to Blue and Candace. They both were giving me something to be happy about. I just can't explain how much… confidence I have. It's really surprising."

"Yeah? Well hopefully you stay safe out there. Call me if you need anything or if it's an emergency or you can warp back here. And hopefully you'll have fun."

"Thank you. I promise I'll be back. Trust me."

"And I'll watch the Royal Rally from my room. I just gotta do a few more things and then I'll watch it. Just to not only keep an eye on anything dangerous but to get the experience of the event."

"Ok. Hopefully all goes well. I think this will be just like watching soccer. The two of us… watching soccer. It's crazy."

"But… to be honest, now I'm starting to feel it's kinda awkward."

"Huh? Why?"

"You know. You going to the Royal Rally in person and me watching it here… It still feels like I'm a child that's all alone."

"I… see your point. But you'll still have fun, right?" I asked with a sweatdrop.

"Yeah, I will. It's just that now I find it strange for some reason. I wish your father would come and see this with me."

"Oh yeah. He never got to discover this. I think he'll have so much interest in this event."

"Well, when I get a chance, I'll text him about it. See what he thinks about it."

*NOTIFICATION CHIME*

"That's probably Blue." I said as I heard my phone and pulled it out. "Ok. She's at the event. I have to get going."

"Alright. Stay safe, Kaze." Mom said.

"Later, Mom." I said as I opened up the telecator to our rendezvous point that me and Blue set up.

Yeah, we did set up a private rendezvous point so that nobody finds the two of us as suspicions. Of course we don't want to miss out on the big event, but it was for the best. We both have to be on point so that we know where we're at.

This is definitely like the Suzuran Beach Party. I really couldn't believe that I'm attending a beach party and a huge event in one month. This month is absolutely bananas when you think about how much I've been through. I think I have to remember this summer as the craziest in my life.

I've been through a lot so far and the next few days are going to be… even crazier before when you think about how unreal the next few days are going to be. And we aren't even in August yet. Although this is the second half of July.

But now it's time for me to start preparing for the Mushroom Kingdom. Time is running out on getting the recruits. Lunia is going to be very disappointed in me if I don't get on with the recruits. I really need to stay focused after this. And hopefully Candace and Gemma will accept my invitational letters.

"Hiya, Kaze." I heard Blue say from behind as I turned around to see her behind me.

"Hello, Blue. I'm glad you made it here." I said.

"Same here. It's surprising that nobody can actually find us in this spot."

"Me too. It honestly feels like this is a hidden place."

"Yeah. Anyway, the others are on their way to the event. They'll be here in a few minutes so we have to make our way into the area."

"Ok, let's go."

We then put our telecators away and made our way towards the event. I just feel… pumped for some reason. This is my first— again, this is my first time attending a live event. It's crazy what's going to happen in a time like this.

Hopefully, Blue can handle fans cheering wildly for Gemma. I don't know if she has that experience before since I don't think she has been in a public event that can be rowdy.

Hopefully, I could get used to the fans cheering because this is like watching the FIFA World Cup. I have to get used to it somehow.

"So are you really pumped about this? Watching Gemma and Candace ready to take on each other?" Blue asked me.

"I actually am. Aside from me having to go for Candace in this, it really does excite me."

"I'm still surprised your good-natured demeanor has given both of their respect towards the both of them. But I still find it funny that Gemma likes me too."

"I wouldn't say that it was "funny", but I'm sure Gemma wouldn't forget about you if you were to meet her again, right?" I asked.

"Yeah, I get that, but it feels odd in a way. We both have never… got together, interact with each other often. We do it rarely, but I still have a feeling that even though Candace is my friend, I should try to get along with Gemma more as well. Because of her friendly personality, she isn't like Candace and… her comedy is a little funny…"

"Her friendly personality is one thing. But doesn't being beautiful not come to Gemma's mind? It's like a rookie making a name for herself in her first year in a sporting event."

"I don't know. She was never the person I was paying attention to at all. Xavier at first confused me with what she does, but once I was doing research on her, I understood what her interests were."

"Huh. Then that would have meant that people had their reasons for picking an unrecognizable celebrity like her."

"What?! She isn't that unrecognizable! Of course, I may not know her or talk about her that much, but she's still popular here in Liverpool."

"She would still be a celebrity? In just her fourth year doing this?"

"No, not just the Royal Rally.

Wow… I forgot that fast. I forgot what made her popular."

"*sigh* That's one person not figuring out her intentions of becoming a celebrity." I said with a sweatdrop.

"Y-You should ask Xavier. He's brainier than I am when it comes to Gemma."

"But you were telling me earlier that she became a celebrity by going high in the Women's Royal Rankings."

"No no no. I said her respect towards people and how beautiful she looks made her climb high towards the Royal rankings. That was when she became a celebrity right off the bat. It infuriated Candace to the point where they became rivals."

"*sigh* Candace really can't get a break from her. But Gemma sure isn't a quitter." I said with a bigger sweatdrop.

"Yeah, she is known for her persistence." Blue said.

"For those who are entering, you must be identified and from the party yesterday! People who have been identified from the party are eligible to enter!" I heard a man who was a security guard shout.

"There's a security guard here?" I asked Blue.

"Yeah. Just to not only see if you have been identified from the party, but to take safety precautions and tell you where you'll be seated."

"I see. Understandable."

"Our friends should be in there. They must've been separated in two areas."

"Two areas?"

"Yeah. One area that is full of Candace fans and another full of Gemma fans. Just so that there aren't any fights happening."

"Oh… aren't there any chairs or something?"

"Nope. You have to stand and walk around to each game that is played."

"Crud. Now I won't be able to see what is going on." I said with a facepalm.

"There will be a screen on top if you can't see. It's no big deal." Blue said.

"Oh. Then that might work. Hopefully."

"You two! Are you here for the Royal Rally?!" The security guard asked the both of us.

"Yes. We both are." Blue said as we were walking up to him.

"Alright. Let me make sure you two were at the party." The security guard said as he was looking through his list to see if we're eligible.

It's odd that this was a rule. But I think I know why they were planning this. Honestly. I can't say for sure that this is a valid reason though.

I hope he sees me recognizable. That purple hair should be an easy ticket to my way inside. Same for Blue.

"Alright. You two were last seen inside the party. Did you vote on who you are going for?"

"I voted for Candace." I said.

"And I voted for Gemma." Blue said.

"Alright. Phones are allowed inside but if you have anything that's suspicious, take them out now."

"Ok." Blue said. We then put our telecators in a nearby bin.

"Walkie-Talkies, eh? That's also your way of talking to each other? Or were you two offered jobs?"

"No, that's just our way of talking. Even if our phones die. We use them whenever we want." I said.

"*sigh* Alright. Gemma fans go to the right side of the arena. Candace fans go to the left side of the arena. Enjoy yourselves. No tampering the celebrities, No fighting. None of that. The event will start in a few minutes.

"Alright. Thank you sir. Alright, I'll see you after the Rally." Blue said to me

"You too." I said

After we gained entry inside the event, we both split ways to go our areas to where the fan bases are.

My heart felt racing as I will attend my first live event. This is really a reality. Not that I was hoping for it or anything. But I'm really surprised that I'm trying out new things because doing activities repeatedly would make things boring. And ever since I went back home after visiting Hyperdrive City the first time, the confidence I had was already so high and this was the happiest I've been since forever. I really did force myself to try new things. This was a crazy turnaround.

But more importantly, I need Candace and Gemma's respect for me to stay that way so that the chances of them accepting the stone mission could stay big.

"Kaze!" I heard Xavier's voice calling out to me as he was on the right side of the fan base next to the basketball court. Wanting to see the event more closely.

The fan base was packed so I went through some people in order to reach my friend. It was really tight so I did the best I could to get through some people.

There's a lot of Candace fans. Hopefully my eardrums don't bother me after this.

"Xavier!" I said as I reached him.

"You made it! Tonight is the night! It's crazy!" Xavier said as he wanted me to give him a handshake.

"I know. It's really packed here. How did you manage to get to the front?" I said as I returned the handshake.

"Well, let's say that most people should've been smart enough to make it on time to get in front of the fan base." He said as he was looking at the fan base with a smirk on his face.

"Oh. So… you were the first person that got here? On time?"

"Yeah. Just so that I can see a cute-face Candace of course!"

"Right…" I said with a sweatdrop.

This dude wants her full concentration on him. How do people put up with this guy?

"And not only that, I love seeing in the front row 'cuz it's more clear. Yeah, I would watch live stuff in different views but the front row… man, you could even get a celebrity to say hi to you. If there's a chance."

"Yeah, they sure are better. Especially in sporting events."

Like tennis.

"That too. They are better."

"So, Where's Lucas and the others?"

"I… don't know. I was looking for him but— Oh wait. Damn. Forgot he was on Gemma's side. No matter, he's gonna regret picking Gemma."

"Oh. Do you really hate him or something?" I asked.

"What? No, silly goose. Well, yeah he is a traitor for abandoning Candace for Gemma, but I'm still his buddy. We joke around sometimes."

"I see…"

"But for now, he's gonna get what he truly deserves. Pure. Domination."

"What do you mean by "Pure Domination"? It doesn't make sense to me." I asked, looking confused along with a sweatdrop.

"He's gonna lose. Badly."

"O-Oh."

"Look, just watch. I can promise you that this is easy money for me. I already placed my bet on 16.21£, so that should be easy money for me."

(16.21£ = $20)

"W-Wait… You betted on an eve…"

"Shhh! I don't want anyone to know about this!" Xavier said as he was trying to shut my mouth. "And no, I wasn't betting online. Me, Lucas and Juniper agreed to wager 16.21£ on the winner of this Royal Rally. The grand prize is 48.71 in which I'm gonna win and these losers will go home with nothing."

"Oh… I thought you were betting on something you are under age of." I said in relief.

"What? You thought I would be betting online? I thought about possibly betting at the adult stage. Speaking of that, you know about betting?"

"I've heard about it. My mom even told me what betting in sports is."

"She's really a sports addict." Xavier said.

"Well, she only enjoys watching soccer. But… let's just say she doesn't want me talking about her fury in the FIFA World Cup."

"Her team lost?" Xavier asked.

"Yeah. But…"

"Ladies and Gentlemen…"

"Ok we'll talk about it later. It's starting." Xavier said as he was now paying attention to the… boxing ring.

W-Why is there a boxing ring? Are these two… gonna fight each other?!

"…Welcome to the 41st annual of the great big Royal Rally! Sponsored by ASOS!" The announcer said on the microphone.

*CLICK* *CLICK*

We noticed that all of the lights were turned off for some reason. And the crowd was getting pumped.

Wait, what?

"Kaze, turn your flashlight on! It's about to be good!"

"Oh, uh… ok."

I quickly turn on my flashlight on my phone as instructed by Xavier. But I wasn't sure why it's necessary to turn it on.

"Before we get started, please stand for the National Anthem!"

With my flashlight on? No matter. I'm not gonna bother it.

God save our gracious Queen!

Long live our noble Queen!

God save the Queen!

Send her victorious,

Happy and glorious,

Long to reign over us:

God save the Queen!

O Lord our God arise,

Scatter her enemies,

And make them fall:

Confound their politics,

Frustrate their knavish tricks,

On Thee our hopes we fix:

God save us all.

Thy choicest gifts in store,

On her be pleased to pour;

Long may she reign:

May she defend our laws,

And ever give us cause,

To sing with heart and voice,

God save the Queen!

We all clapped after that marvelous anthem we listened to. Even though I happened to have my phone in my hands.

"And now! To introduce our two competitors! First up, is the challenger, who makes her fourth consecutive appearance in her Royal Rally, ready to finally win the title after setting lots of records… ladies and gentlemen, GEMMA JANUARY!"

*EXTREME CHEERING*

"Booooo!" I heard Xavier shout which resulted in me gaining a sweatdrop.

As I saw Gemma walking towards the ring on the big screen, she tied her hair into a ponytail (still), had on a yellow shirt with a white patch that said "Superstar!" and was covered in yellow stars, black shorts with yellow stripes and yellow sneakers. She was feeling upbeat as she was hoping for a great result in this event.

"She's still overrated! I care less if she's still fun to talk to!" Xavier shouted.

"Of all people, that's what you think." I whispered to myself.

As Gemma entered the ring, She brought in lots of energy and multiple people were cheering her on. I had a feeling that her confidence level is so high.

But why does she look like a trackstar?

"I bet Candace has it better! I can tell! What do you think?!" Xavier asked me.

"Um… I don't know! It's a tough question!" I said.

"What do you mean it's a tough question?! It's an easy one!"

"And now… Introducing the Champion of the Royal Rally! A three-time Royal Rally Champion, A lady-like legend who always makes her fans brighten their day and is also making her final appearance in this year's Royal Rally, looking to finish her career in grand style with her fourth consecutive title defense, ladies and gentlemen, make some noise for the champion, CANDACE MAXEY!"

*MAXIMUM VOLUME OF CHEERING ALMOST TO THE POINT WHERE EVERYONE'S EARDRUMS ARE BUSTED*

And here she comes.

As Candace was entering inside the arena, what she was wearing was a green shirt with white flowers everywhere that almost looked… exposed. She also wore green detached sleeves on her arms, a white mini skirt (In a live event?), green leg warmers and white and black sneakers white the sole area colored in cyan. And what made it better was… she had emerald crowns on both of them. Actual crowns.

What the… hell?

"Why are you not taking a picture of this, Kaze?! This is epic!" Xavier said as he had his phone out. And it looked like he was trying to take a picture of me.

"Huh? Wait, What are you doing?!" I asked as I looked away from him quickly.

"Why are you scared?! You can't show support?!"

"I would, but not with you taking a picture of me…"

"Alright, forget it! Here she comes! CANDACE! YOU ARE MY IDOL!" Xavier yelled.

But Candace paid no attention to him as she was about to enter the ring.

"She'll see me next time! I'll keep trying!" Xavier said.

"Sometimes it's better to not push yourself to make her notice your support." I said.

"Oh please. As if I would be a wimp and not give her compliments. She needs the love that I currently have."

"Yes, but she doesn't like how you are acting forward to her. Almost to the point where you are getting ahead of yourself."

"She'll be alright. I know you haven't heard this but Candace and I talk sometimes. It's just… she's love to be sassy."

"H-How?"

"Well… let's just say I was stalking Blue and her one time."

"Oh boy…"

"Alright, ladies." A referee said on the mic as he stood by the two ladies. "Best of 5 as always. We're gonna keep this title event as clean as possible. Five games are in this order for refresher: Question & Answer Rush is Game 1, Capture The Flag is Game 2, Picture Perfect is Game 3, Tug-Of-War is Game 4, and Kartathlon is Game 5. Any questions for the challenger?"

Gemma shook her head no.

"Any questions for the champion?"

Candace shook her head no.

Gemma's Super Quick POV

"If you want to give each other a handshake, do it now so we can get started."

I offered Candace a handshake so that I could give her good luck. This is her final bout with me after all so hopefully she'll get a quick exchange.

C'mon, Candace. I know you want to.

Candace's Super Quick POV

Tch! This girl… her Happy-Go-Lucky ass never refuses to give this up.

*sigh* Damn it, Kaze. You were the reason you got me doing this. I'll just do this for once.

I… well, attempted to form a small smile. And accepted Gemma's handshake. A real handshake. And then out of nowhere, there were a lot of oohs and ahhs from the crowd which I didn't freaking expect.

"IT ISN'T LIKE THAT! QUIT THE IDIOCY!" I screamed to the crowd with my face red as a cherry.

My discomfort is gonna cost me my title if this keeps up.

"Alright. Take your assigned seats. The first event will begin shortly." The ref said.

Please. These people already pissed me off with their reaction.

Kaze's POV

"Drama queen." Xavier said.

"I guess she didn't like the overreactions that we took." I said.

"She'll get over it. That's what a tsundere like her does."

"W-Wait… you think she's a tsundere?"

"Probably."

"That's… something."

"It's the truth. Try talking or listening to her more and you'll see my point."

"Ok ok fine."

"Welcome to Question & Answer Rush!" Said the woman talking on the speaker. "Here are the rules that apply to this game. You will be answering a total of 10 questions. Each correct answer is worth 10 points. After question 5, each correct answer will be multiplied for the last 5. The questions talk about the fashionistas and the Royal Rally. The player with the most points wins."

But I wonder why Question & Answer Rush is an event? I have a feeling it's a little boring.

"The game will start in…

3!

2!

1!

Start!"

The game was underway in an instant.

"C'mon Candace. Win this for me."

"Question 1: Who was the first woman to reach the Fashionista's Hall of Fame?

Erin Smith

Allison House

Penelope Murray

Zoey Sorensen"

I saw there was one minute on the clock and I was looking at both Candace and Gemma trying to figure out which buttons to press and I can tell both of them were confused on that question.

They should know this stuff, right?

*DING*

*DING*

Both of them were able to answer the question after they took some time to answer.

"I think this one is B." Xavier whispered to me.

"Oh yeah? I'm not sure what I think this one is."

"Me either. I haven't learned about that stuff."

"Question 2: Who was the first female in the Royal Rally to win the title after trailing 2-0 in a best-of-5 series?

Penelope Murray

Tabitha Lynch

Amaya Blossomgame

None of the Above"

To… win a title after trailing 2-0 in a best-of-5 series? These questions are related to sports, aren't they?

"I think it had to be Penelope Murray. I think. Because online I saw her winning a title after trailing 2-0 against someone named Aubrey Mendez. I think she was in her first year too." Xavier whispered.

"I see. Females are really into this sort of thing."

"No doubt about it."

*DING*

I see Candace got that one answered. Why isn't Gemma?

Gemma's Super Quick POV

Oh boy… this is so tough. Um… I know this question is kinda sports-like, but I'm not too experienced with this. I knew I should've studied.

I'm gonna have to say A.

*DING*

I clicked on the red button that said A on top. Just to confirm my answer.

*Kaze's POV*

"I know Gemma is gonna get that wrong. I know it." Xavier said.

"You think so?" I asked.

"Yeah. I just know it."

"Question 3: What do most well-known fashionistas like to wear outside of the Royal Rally?

Off-Shoulder Shirts and Jeans

Long Dresses

Tank Tops and Shorts

Leather Jackets and Tight Jeans"

Huh?

"That should be easy. C'mon Candace. That's really easy." Xavier said.

"It is?" I asked.

"It's obviously A."

W-What?! W-Well, yes I've seen Candace wear that type before but that's what all fashionistas wear?

*DING*

And I saw Candace pushed in her answer quickly. She must've known that one on the spot.

*DING*

Followed by Gemma, who looked unsure of that question also.

"This is going to be an easy win for Candace." Xavier said.

"I think so. Gemma looks like she's struggling."

"That's why I always say never bet on Gemma. I'm still glad you were on my side for this."

"Th-Thanks." I said with a sweatdrop.

This is going to be a long ride.

"Question 4: What were the lowest votes to participate in a Royal Rally?"

429,638 votes

557,112 votes

561,880 votes

659,611 votes

*DING*

And Gemma, with no hesitation, got her answer as she knew what this answer was.

"Damn." Xavier said.

"That was quick." I said.

*DING*

Candace also made her choice on this one as she looked unsure of that one.

Hopefully she knew that one.

"Question 5: The Royal Rally was first founded by who?

Nicole Winston

Sonya Rivers

Valerie Valentine

Monica Johnson"

Huh. That's a good question. Who made this a thing?

"I think it's… you see because I remember Nicole Winston being a CEO in a company that has something to do with makeup or customizing hair so I think she took the next step and made it a thing." Xavier explained.

*DING*

I saw Candace answer the question that was on the screen.

"Really?" I asked as I went back to Xavier.

"Yeah. She's popular so I think she's got something to do with this. I'm a hundred percent positive."

*DING*

Gemma now selected her answer on the question she was given after quite some time.

I've never had any experience with this at all.

"The correct answers are now multiplied! Get ready!"

I bet this is going to get difficult now.

"Here we go. Second half." Xavier said.

"Question 6: Who was the greatest Royal Rally participant to NOT be qualified for the Big Leagues for Fashionistas?

Gina McMann

Meghan Halliburton-Roberts

Donna Cunningham

Zoey Sorensen

Meghan Halliburton-Roberts? That's a pretty long name.

But why are these topics talking about people? Shouldn't they just focus on topics that involve fashion or something?

"I don't know who Meghan Halliburton-Roberts is, but I don't remember her participating in the Royal Rally." Xavier said.

"Her name is pretty long though. Or it must be the last name." I said.

"Yeah. It's gotta be the last name. But I still don't know who that is."

*DING*

I saw Gemma putting in her answer as she was first to decide.

"But aside from that… I don't know about that one." Xavier said.

"Me either." I said.

"C'mon Candace. Have some faith from your own #1 fan."

*DING*

After a short while, Candace manages to put in her answer.

I know, Candace. It's a tough one. Even though I had no experience.

"Hopefully she pulls through in the multiplier rounds." Xavier said.

Gemma as well.

"Question 7: How many fashionistas have DEFENDED their title in Glasgow?

5

3

2

None"

"3. Easy." Xavier said.

*DING*

*DING*

Both of the participants made their choices in an instant.

*Gemma's Super Quick POV*

*gasp* Oh no! I didn't mean to press that one! Oh, cheeseballs! I'm screwed!

*Kaze's POV*

"Well, that was quick." I said.

"It's easy. I definitely know this one." Xavier said.

"Oh. Well, that's good."

"Question 8: What was the longest winning streak in Royal Rally history?"

6

8

9

12"

"I think it's 8. That's what I think." Xavier whispered.

"I think… 6?" I asked.

*DING*

Candace was the first to answer the question.

"Are these really topics about the Royal Rally and fashionistas?" I asked Xavier.

"Yeah. That's just… how they like to set it up." Xavier answered.

"Oh…"

*DING*

Gemma made her answer to the question given.

These questions are really something.

"Question 9: Before Kartathlon made its first appearance in 2015, what was the fastest time to ever be recorded in a triathlon?

3:08

3:31

3:41

3:58"

Fastest time to ever be recorded?

"Uh…" We both were trying to figure that one out until…

*DING*

Gemma knew what the correct answer was.

"I don't think I know that one. I've never watched a lot of triathlons." Xavier said.

"Same."

Wait, how was triathlon a thing in the Royal Rally?

"Candace sure doesn't know about that one. Just look at her." Xavier said.

I looked at Candace as she was super confused about the question. And I think Xavier's right. She must've been a fan of being beautiful all her life. Unless she was into sports and fitness.

Wow… she is really confused.

*DING*

Candace finally made her choice after a long time. That question must've been very hard for her.

"Took her long enough." Xavier said.

"She still needs to think, you know?" I asked.

"Yeah yeah, I was just screwing with her."

"Really?" I asked with a sweatdrop.

"That's just what I do."

"Question 10: What event in which city is the riskiest to play in?

Mountain Climbing in Birmingham

Tug-Of-War in Chelmsford

Bobsledding in Liverpool

Fencing in Edinburgh"

"Mountain Climbing in Birmingham. That's wayyyy too risky." Xavier said.

*DING*

I saw Candace select her answer as she knew what it was.

"Hopefully Candace wins this."

C'mon, Gemma. I believe in you. Although I'm on Candace's side.

*DING*

And Gemma, as soon as I thought about her, selected her answer. And I think that may be the last of the questions.

I hope she got most of them right.

"Questions complete. Now here are the results."

Oh god… the nerves.

"Question 1: Who was the first woman to reach the Fashionista's Hall of Fame?

Candace says D.

Gemma says D.

The correct answer is…

D. Zoey Sorensen."

"Ok!" Xavier said as most of us clapped at the answer.

"That was really good." I said.

"The score is tied at 10 apiece!" The lady on the screen said.

I'm predicting that this was a close one.

"Question 2: Who was the first female in the Royal Rally to win the title after trailing 2-0 in a best-of-5 series?

Candace says A.

Gemma says C."

"Oh, she's dumb." Xavier said, but I just let him say that.

"The correct answer is…

Penelope Murray."

"Let's go!" Xavier shouted as he was happy at the result he was given and so did the rest of Candace's fans.

Wow…

*Candace's POV*

Ha! Up 10! You like them apples, Gemma?!

I was very pleased that the blonde rascal would mess up big time. Even we got through 2 questions. This is definitely going to be a no-brainer for me.

"Candace is leading Gemma, 20-10. Question 3: What do most well-known fashionistas like to wear outside of the Royal Rally?"

Easy correct answer.

"Candace says A.

Gemma says C.

The correct answer is…

Off-Shoulder Shirts and Jeans."

*CHEERING*

I heard most of my fans cheering as I knew I had the right answer.

Ohhohohohoho! Everything is gonna go my way of course!

*Blue's POV*

"Wow. That's really two in a row for Candace." Emily said next to me.

"Yup. That's really her being intelligent. I think she might win this. I'm not sure." I said.

"Gemma would not like what you have said." Aiden said.

"I know, but… she still has a lot of heart in something that she loves. It's really unforeseeable now."

"Well, she's a legend now. So she doesn't want people standing in her way." Lucas said.

"Candace is leading Gemma, 30-10. Question 4: What were the lowest votes to participate in a Royal Rally?

Candace says B.

Gemma says B.

The correct answer is…

557,112 votes."

"Oh ok! So Candace got that right also!" Lucas said.

"She's really getting this!" Emily said.

"

I wonder how Gemma did in the next few questions.

"Candace is leading Gemma 40-20. Question 5: The Royal Rally was first founded by who?

Candace says D.

Gemma says A.

The correct answer is…"

I don't think it was D.

Or is it…

"A. Nicole Winston."

*CHEERING*

"That's good!" Emily said as she was clapping at Gemma.

"Yeah, that was pretty awesome that she got that right!" Lucas said.

"Gemma has trimmed Candace's lead by 10. The score is 40-30. The questions are now multiplied. The correct answer is now worth 20 points."

"Here we go. The multiplier questions. My favorite." Aiden said.

This could probably turn the tables. I think.

*Kaze's POV*

"Gemma is done. I could tell." Xavier said to me.

"Because of the answers she messed up on?" I asked.

"Yeah. It's obvious Candace is gonna win."

"Question 6: Who was the greatest Royal Rally participant to NOT be qualified for the Big Leagues for Fashionistas?

Candace says C.

Gemma says B."

"Dumb." Xavier said.

"The correct answer is…

Donna Cunningham."

"Let's go!" Xavier shouted as he was clapping his hands.

"So that must be big!" I said to Xavier.

"Yeah! Really big!" Xavier said, looking energetic.

"Candace has stretched her lead to 30. The score is 60-30."

Still a close game.

"The correct answer is now worth 40 points. Question 7: How many fashionistas have DEFENDED their title in Glasgow?

Candace says B.

Gemma says A."

"B, Dummy." Xavier said. "Why did you pick A?"

"The correct answer is…

B. 3."

"See what I mean?!" Xavier asked as he was clapping at Candace because of what he is seeing tonight. "C'mon you should be cheering too, you know."

"I-I'm just here to watch. I don't have any experience with this." I said with a surprised look.

"Yeah, but this is still fun. Trust me." Xavier said.

I wonder how fun it is though.

"Candace has stretched her lead to 70. The score is 100-30."

That's a big margin.

"The correct answer is now worth 80 points. Question 8: What was the longest winning streak in Royal Rally history?

Candace says B.

Gemma says D.

The correct answer is…

12."

*CHEERING FROM OTHER SIDE*

"Huh?! 12?!" Xavier asked as he was confused and so were Candace fans.

The answer was 12? Who won 12 in a row?

*Gemma's Super Quick POV*

"Ok! I thought I got that one wrong!" I said in relief.

And now I'm leading after a long time. I got scared for a moment.

*Candace's Super Quick POV*

She's lucky I gave her that lead. But that isn't gonna last for long.

"Gemma is now on top by 10. The score is 110-100."

Hmph. Not for much longer.

*Kaze's POV*

"The correct answer is now worth 160 points. Question 9: Before Kartathlon made its first appearance in 2015, what was the fastest time to ever be recorded in a triathlon?

Candace says A.

Gemma says D."

"This is the final stretch." I said.

"Candace better get this." Xavier said. "I'm her biggest fan."

"The correct answer is…

B. 3:31."

"Man, what?!" Xavier said as he facepalmed in disgust.

"It's tough. It really is." I said to Xavier.

"Yeah, but Gemma's about to win Game 1. I hope Candace gets this one right."

*Blue's POV*

"This is about to be huge." Aiden said as he was looking at the score.

"Yeah. I can tell this could be Gemma right here." Emily said.

"Candace should know this stuff, right? She's about to lose this game." Lucas said.

"I think so."

"Gemma is leading Candace, 110-100."

"Here we go, last question. My heart is racing." Aiden said.

"Me too. I don't know what's gonna happen." I said.

But will the tables turn though?

*Candace's Super Quick POV*

Gah! Come on, damnit! I need this game to go my way! Please!

*Gemma's Super Quick POV*

10 point lead! Hopefully this stays that way! I need this win!

*Kaze's POV*

"Last question. I don't know what's gonna happen." I said as my heart was racing.

"The correct answer is now worth 320 points. Question 10: What event in which city is the riskiest to play in?

Candace says A.

Gemma says D."

"Oh that's ours. That's ours. We win. We win." Xavier said.

I then giggled at his response. I found it funny for some reason.

*Blue's POV*

"Oooh. I don't know about D." Lucas said.

"Oh god. Is it?" Emily asked.

"Fencing isn't violent so I don't know if that's considered risky." I said.

"True. Even with épées." Aiden said. "I think most people were trying to not make this sport dangerous."

True.

*Gemma's Super Quick POV*

Or… is it not D. I don't know. This is the last question.

*Candace's Super Quick POV*

Come on. I need this. Come on.

"The correct answer is…

Mountain Climbing in Birmingham."

*INTENSE CHEERING*

"Yes! That game is mine for the taking!" I yelled, so ecstatic about the result.

Gemma might as well give this up already!

*Gemma's Super Quick POV*

Wow… I knew it was that answer. Man…

No, Gemma! A girl has got to get some spirit! I can't give up now! I'm about to win this! I can win this!

"Down 0-1, rascal." Candace said to me with a smirk.

"Yeah. But let's see how you fare in the next one. I bet I'm really good at it." I said with a smirk.

"Hmph. We'll see about that."

*Blue's POV*

"You see, I knew that would be the answer." Lucas said.

"Yeah, mountain climbing is really tough. I'm not a fan of heights." Emily said with an embarrassed look on her face.

It's true. Emily doesn't like heights. Especially skydiving that we took her on one time. It was… a little funny.

"It looked like Gemma was struggling on that one."

"Same. Maybe she didn't know a thing or two about most of the questions." Aiden said.

"I guess Gemma still didn't learn this stuff." I said with a sweatdrop.

I hope the second game will help her get back in shape.

*Kaze's POV*

"You see that, Kaze? I told my friends. Candace is gonna take over. I don't care what they say." Xavier said.

"It's still a shocker. I didn't think she's gonna win at the last moment." I said.

"They better have my money front and center once we win this whole thing. It's gonna be a shutout."

"But what if Candace loses though?"

"She ain't gonna lose. She's unstoppable against Gemma so she wouldn't have any problems."

"But you betted 16.21£. Isn't that all of your money?"

"Nah, I still have money left over. But I'm gonna get even more. And it ain't no big deal if I lose. I still have my own money."

"Oh. Ok. So what happens now?" I asked until an answer was given here…

"Attention, fans! We will now transition to Capture the Flag! Please use the doors that are next to you and follow the lines afterwards! Thank you!" The announcer said on the mic.

"O-Oh."

"Yup. There's your answer. Now hopefully I can get to Wendell because there is a lot of people in the way."

"Oh yeah… you two are both Candace fans."

"You forgot Wendell was in this?!" Xavier asked with a disgusted look.

"I'm sorry! I just forgot." I said with an embarrassed look.

"Yeah. Some lazy feminist you are."

*PINCH*

"Ok! Alright, Alright! I'm sorry!" Xavier shouted as I pinched his cheek hard, trying to get him to be quiet. "Damn!"

"Yeah. You did that yourself." I said with a smile.

"I'll get you later." Xavier said in annoyance.

You obviously did that yourself, you know?

Author's Note: Here it is! The Royal Rally, Part 1 of 3! I'm gonna be honest, it took me a while to set this up, but now that we got the filler chapters out of the way, it's time! We are now ready for the entertainment to begin! And it starts off with Candace leading this best-of-5 series, 1 game to 0 so it was just one game I wrote.

And I'm sorry that it took forever. AGAIN! I just wanted to get to the Royal Rally already but I wasn't sure what to write or say for the characters so I had to write what I have to write and get it over with. That's the bottom line. I know we haven't had the time to get through the Mushroom Kingdom, Hyrule, Gamindustri, nor Takaoka, but I just wanted to knock this out so that I can move onto the next chapter. So I'm gonna put all my focus on the next chapter and… hopefully it can come quicker.

That's all I got, so if you are having fun with this story, make sure to follow/favorite/review this story and I'll see you guys in my next chapter. Part 2 coming up next.
