young justice 17: Actually, aside from the fact that most of the spiders have their lives busy (Jessica's dealing with her breakup with Roger, Anya moved to San Francisco to help Black Widow, Gwen and Silk are doing their thing, the Clones are back to their own stuff and Miles is busy with his Clone Saga aftermath), there IS a reason why Peter won't be joining her, and that will be revealed hopefully soon

SHADOWCAT: INTO THE KITTY-VERSE
Chapter 2: Shadowtripping
Neither of the women in the Boneyard's living room could be prepared for the announcement they are witnessing: Mojo is making another of his hostile transmissions to the world at large, and as everyone knows, things will not end well if they allow him to go on.
"I thought you said he wouldn't be a threat to mutants" Kitty talks to her close friend Magik as they both watch the screen.
"We thought he would" Magik replies almost in annoyance "We even have sent Sofia to babysit that fat #$%&" she makes the reference of Wind Dancer as the Krakoan Diplomatic Envoy they send to the Mojoverse.
"Then let's skip the pleasantries and move over there" Kitty talks to her friend, impressing her with that statement.
"Well, I'm supposed to be going to the Council's meeting about the Scarlet Witch's case" Magik comments but then she begins to charge her magic powers to open a portal "But I can bet that Emma will be 'fashionably late' for that, so I might as well be" she points out, prompting Kitty to smile at her friend.
"I knew I could count on you, Yana" Kitty replies as she activates her Shadowcat suit through her Webware device "Amazing Baby, watch the fort and if you see Rachel, tell her I was here, 'Kay?"
"Wenk! Wenk! Wenk!" Amazing Baby barks in response just as Kitty and Magik jump through her portal, making the usual quick stop at Limbo in order of making it to the other side and reach the Mojoverse.
MEANWHILE, AT THE MOJOVERSE
"I'm sure you're all wondering what exactly is my plan" Mojo comments with his devious tone of voice "And I'm pretty sure you think it'll involve the mutants and their so-called Nation of Krakoa, which reminds me, I'm Beyond Insulted that I haven't received an invitation to your petty Hellfire Gag-la" he talks with a mocking tone about the recent Gala "It's one thing to neuter me by taking away my top streamers and leave me with a teeny-bopper babysitter, but to deny me broadcasting rights to your show!? Just think of the ratings you would've gained if the rest of the world had a front row seat for your hostile takeover of Mars, which by the way, I actually applaud, never thought you'd have the Matzos to pull such a stunt" he keeps ranting, unaware that Magik and Kitty have breached their security and entered the Mojoverse, something that his assistant Major Domo does discover.
"Um, sir?" Major Domo tries to speak with his Master.
"Not now Domo" Mojo quickly cuts him off "Of course, it's one thing to conquer a planet but terraforming it and claim it as your own? Big move muties, big move, and that means that one way or another, Mojo's quality brand of programming will make it through that warlike bred population of Alakazam or whatever the #$%& you named it…"
"Sir? I believe you need to see this" Major Domo tries to warn his Master again, to no avail.
"I said not now, Domo" Mojo pushes him away "But I'm digressing, the whole point of this is to let you know that while the universe conspires against me, I found out that other universes give me the answer that I'm looking for!" he exclaims as he begins to show multiple screens with different types of scenarios "What better place to expand my dominion than the MULTIVERSE!?" he exclaims with wicked pride but then Major Domo tries to speak again, only that this time Mojo steps to his face to cut him off before he could speak "WHAT DO YOU WANT!?" he screams and spits at him, yet Major Domo simply stares at him and points at the surveillance screens to show him the women who just intruded his realm "Oh…" he then abruptly pushes Major Domo away from the camera view "Ladies and Gentlemen, we have a minor technical difficulty, please stand by and enjoy these commercials" he then looks back at Major Domo as soon as they get off the air "HOW DID THAT HAPPEN!?"
"Well Sir, you should be aware that the X-Men have many teleporters in their ranks" Major Domo begins to explain "But if I may, this could be a good opportunity" he then approaches his master and whispers in his ear, prompting him to show his wicked grin.
"THAT! IS! PERFECT!" Mojo exclaims in response "I want you to check on my machine immediately!" he gives Major Domo the order, to which his assistant nods in response.
"It will be done, sir" Major Domo then leaves the room while Mojo begins to rub his hands, already making twisted plans in his way more twisted mind.
MEANWHILE
While Mojo was delivering his 'speech' to his audience, Magik and Kitty Pryde make their appearance in one of the open spots on Mojoverse. It once was an area where separate groups would film their exploits in the chance of becoming one of Mojo's top streamers or at least earn a place alongside the top ones, but since almost all of Mojo's streamers were mutants and they all left to Krakoa, the place is now practically a 'Warzone' where everyone fights for a place in Mojo's programming.
"And I thought that Mad Max world I visited was crazy" Kitty mutters, making the comparison with the Wastelands.
"What Mad Max world, Katya?" Magik asks her with a hint of curiosity.
"Remember the Old Logan who appeared in our world after our Logan died?" Kitty poses the rhetorical question "When I joined Spidey's Multiversal Journey, the first place we visited was that world" she explains as they walk into the area, already starting to catch the attention of the people in the surroundings.
"I really hate when people look at us like we're a piece of meat" Magik comments as they walk forward, only to be intercepted by a group of five men wearing dark grey, black and red hooded sweatshirts and black pants with red sneakers, as if they were part of a gang.
"Seems like somebody got lost" the Gang Leader speaks with a menacing tone "If you want to get a place with Mojo, you'll have to go through us" he smirks at them, prompting both women to look at each other and then both smile.
"When was the last time you and I had an actual team-up?" Magik asks Kitty.
"One on One? I think it was that time when we were rescuing that mutant girl at the old Monster Island" Kitty replies as she stands on guard.
"Oh right, back when we were on Scott's 'New Xavier School' and he was going through that #$%&$#% phase" Magik replies, remembering their time during Cyclops' 'Mutant Revolution'.
"Are you two going to fight or what?" the Gang Leader asks them, becoming visibly annoyed.
"Dude, it's rude to interrupt two people talking" Kitty sarcastically replies.
"But since you're so eager to have your ass kicked" Magik adds to her friend's words and then she summons her Soulsword, running towards the leader to attack while the rest go at them.
Kitty dodges the attack of her first thug, jumping to use a wall to boost herself up and connect a dropkick over his head, landing in front of the second thug who tries to striker her with a steel pipe, only to be on the receiving end of a somersault kick.
Magik on her part, she strikes with her Soulsword with swift move to keep them away, yet when she approaches the leader, she stabs him in the chest with the magic effect, ensuring that his body is not hurt, but his soul does, knocking him out so she can face the other two thugs, using an incantation to drop them with a soulfire wave against them.
A second group of thugs, these ones wearing white and blue hooded sweatshirts arrive with Warwolves chained in tow, and an even meaner attitude than the already beaten ones.
"Would you look at that?" the gang leader points at the women "These chicks have beaten our rivals with no sweat" he then walks towards both of them "How 'bout you two back off, let us have this win to show off at Mojo and then we can party, huh?" he then smirks at them "I can party with both of you in my private room, what'd ya say Sweet Cheeks?" he talks with a provocative tone, causing both women to look at him in disgust and right then they both give him a kick in the crotch, dropping him down to the floor.
"UGH! Seems that every citizen in this place is as disgusting as its ruler" Kitty comments in disgust as she and Magik turn to leave, but right then the rest of the gang rush to help their leader.
"R-R-Re… Release… them…" the leader points at the women and right then, the gang releases their Warwolves who rush to attack them. Kitty immediately goes intangible and makes one of the Warwolves to go right through her. Then, two others jump to attack her, managing to pin her down to the ground while Magik makes quick work of the ones she has thanks to her Soulsword.
"Katya!" Magik exclaims as she sees the Warwolves attacking her, managing to take out one of them with her enchantments, giving Kitty free room to use her Hyper-Density to punch away the other Warwolf.
"God, I hope Amazing Baby doesn't become like one of these" Kitty mutters as she tries to stand up.
"Those #$%&+*& beat our wolves, let's get the job done" One of the thugs rallies his fellow members to attack them, but they are suddenly swept away by a gust of wind from above. Kitty and Magik lift their heads to look at the new arrival, feeling relieved as they discover who it is.
"Right on time, Sofia!" Magik greets the 'Krakoan Envoy' Sofia Mantega, the former student known as Wind Dancer.
"Good thing you came" Sofia replies as she lands "Mojo's up to no good, Noriko and I just found out about it and… wait, Kate?" she then looks surprised at the sight of Kitty "How'd you managed to come here? I mean, I heard you can't access through the Krakoan Gates so…"
"I brought her here" Magik replies "It took a huge effort but we made it" she explains.
"I'm here to help, we all know how annoyingly dangerous Mojo can be" Kitty comments as she approaches Sofia "You said you found out what's Mojo planning, right?" she asks her, to which she nods in response.
"Yeah, follow me" Sofia gestures with her head so her friends can follow her to the next area where Mojo is making his plans.
A FEW MINUTES LATER…
After trekking through the Capital Citadel of the Mojoverse, the women arrive to HEADSHOT TV's headquarters where Mojo is preparing his broadcast, and they discover the massive antenna protruding from the top of the building, one that they have not seen before in their previous trips, and that is a bad omen for all of them.
"That's new" Magik comments as they look at the structure.
"Come on, we have to find the source" Sofia leads the way with Magik and Kitty following through, but as they walk in, they are greeted by Mojo's security drones, with the 'man' himself appearing through the screens.
"HELLOOOOOOOOOO LADIEEEEEEEES!" Mojo's voice is heard across the room as the women begin to fight against the drones "While I'm not surprised to see Miss Failed Ballerina and Miss Resting #$%&+ Face over here, I am truly surprised to see Miss Overachiever Pryde given what I heard about her" he begins to mock them, giving them the necessary fuel to keep them going and tear apart the drones.
"What did he call me?" Magik angrily throws the question.
"Yana, as much as I hate the guy, he has a point, you do have a scary resting #$%&+ face" Kitty replies as she phases through the drones.
"I agree with her too" Sofia adds to her words as they move up to the next floor.
"I thought you would bring your Spider-Buddies to the fray after the X-People backstabbed ya, but whatever floats your boat" Mojo keeps mocking them until they reach the next floor, leaving another pile of wrecked drones behind.
"Does this guy have a mute button?" Sofia complains as she releases a gust of wind against the drones to clear the way.
"But in a way, I have to thank them, because they gave me a brilliant idea for my next show, I call it, MOJO'S ASTONISHINGLY UNCANNY MULTIVERSAL ADVENTURE!" Mojo exclaims as the women reach the upper floors "Since the Krakoan people are off-limits to me, thanks a lot by the way" he sarcastically quips at them "So what better solution than pulling muties from all over the Multiverse!" he exclaims, causing Kitty to gasp.
"WHAT!?" Kitty angrily exclaims after those word.
"I blame Spider-Man for this one" Magik comments, prompting Kitty to glare at her friend.
"YANA!" Kitty exclaims with an annoyed tone.
"Guys! Come over here!" Sofia calls for them, arriving to a door with the inscription 'ONLY AUTHORIZED PERSONNEL' written on it.
"Guess it's time to knock on their door" Magik comments as she charges her Soulsword, but Kitty puts a hand on her shoulder.
"Actually, this is where I come in" Kitty intervenes as she holds the hands of both women "Deep breath, girls" she comments as she phases them and then they walk through the door to enter the room.
What they find is exactly the kind of thing they would expect from a major threat: A large construct comprised of pipes and laser beams connected through a series of strings that lead to a glowing sphere, with the machine being surrounded by a massive wall of screens showing different worlds and two computer panels connected to it.
"This must be the machine" Sofia comments while Kitty begins to type and research.
"#$%&! This is a Warp-Maker; this is what connects Mojoverse through the Multiverse" Kitty comments with concern in her voice "It's way too powerful for the three of us to handle it"
"So we can't destroy it?" Magik asks her, to which Kitty shakes her head in denial.
"We could disable it but the Soulsword could barely make a dent to it" Kitty replies, prompting Magik to groan in annoyance.
"How about phasing through it?" Sofia asks Kitty, but she sighs in response.
"It could work but like I said, it's way too powerful, unless…" Kitty begins to think of an idea "I was storing this for something quite big, maybe this could be it…" she ponders in her mind.
"Unless what? We call for ten more Kitty Prydes?" Sofia sarcastically asks but Kitty's eyes widen after that mention.
"YES!" Kitty exclaims "Damn right Sofia" she then begins to type on the computer "This thing allows me to communicate across the Multiverse, so all I need is one phone call" she talks as she manages to establish contact with Earth-001, the place otherwise known as Loomworld.
"What the Hell is that?" Magik asks as she sees the giant web on the screen.
"That's Loomworld, home of the Web of Life and Destiny" Kitty begins to explain "Think of it as a Multiversal Hub that connects through the Multiverse, it's used and guarded by the Spider-Totems" she talks as she tries to make the call "Long story short, our Spider-Man is a Protector of the Multiverse" she comments with a hint of pride in her voice, yet Magik looks skeptical.
"Right, and I sell time shares at Limbo with very good prices" Magik sarcastically replies, prompting Kitty to glare at her.
"So what's your plan?" Sofia asks her.
"Simple, I'm going back to the Multiverse, this time to build an 'Army of Kitty Prydes' and disrupt that machine" Kitty replies, pointing at the machine "And for that, I'm borrowing a move from Spidey's playbook".
"OK, I get the plan, but how are you gonna do it?" Magik asks her "I'd love to help you with that and you know it, but I don't have that capacity to teleport, it already took quite an effort to make it here from Krakoa" she explains.
"Don't worry, that's what the phone call is for" Kitty replies just as she manages to make contact with the one she was looking for "Zero? Are you there?"
"Kitty Pryde?" the voice of Spider-Zero, the current Master Weaver, is heard through the call "Is everything alright?"
"Not quite" Kitty replies "Listen, I need a huge favor" she begins to explain "Right now I bumped into a Multiversal threat from the Mojoverse and I know how to fix it, but I'm gonna need my Dimensional Watch" she comments revealing the reason of the call "I know this isn't a threat that affects the Web of Life and Destiny and I know that you said that 'If the call comes we'd regain access to them' but this is a bit of an urgent issue so I was hoping if I could use it, please?" she tries to plead to her.
"You're right, it's not something that affects the Web, at least not directly" Zero begins to reply "But the Mojoverse is a well-known menace from across these places and you've proven that you adhere to the mantra of 'Power and Responsibility', so given the need…" right then, Kitty's wrist begins to glow, slowly revealing her Dimensional Watch, which actually impresses her companions "Good luck in your journey, Kitty" she then ends her transmission, just as the machine begins to glow.
"It seems that Mojo's show is about to start" Sofia comments as she looks at the machine while Kitty activates her device.
"Alright, I'm going to the Multiverse and begin my mission" Kitty comments and then looks at her friends "I promise to make it back"
"I'm going with you" Magik intervenes with determination in her voice.
"Aren't you supposed to be going to the Council's meeting?" Kitty asks her but Magik shakes her head in denial.
"They can handle it without me and I can take whatever punishment they'll give me" Magik replies "Besides, it's been a very long time since you and I had a team-up, I missed doing stuff like this with you" she confesses, prompting Kitty to smile at her friend and almost sister.
"I'm coming too!" Sofia intervenes as well "Whatever Mojo does is kinda my responsibility and besides, I'm not gonna miss the chance of being in a 'Sort-of' X-Men mission even if we're not the actual X-Men team" she comments, hoping that Kitty agrees with her.
"OK then" Kitty replies, causing Sofia to show a wide smile "Buckle up girls, we're going through the Multiverse!" she exclaims as she opens the portal and the three of them jump through it, starting a brand new adventure.
Get ready folks because as of next chapter, we're jumping through the Multiverse once again!
Kitty regained her Dimensional Watch from Loomworld, and after a long thought I decided that Kitty shouldn't come alone for this one (since Peter's gonna be busy on his own as well) and for that, Magik and Wind Dancer will be joining her as well! I chose Magik because aside from being her BFF, I want to start to work on her character before I jump into future plans with her, and Wind Dancer because my fellow Venezuelan compatriot needs more exposure and she'll have it over here! LOL!
