Welcome back, True Believers! Kitty Pryde's Multiversal Adventures continue as we've brought in a new member: Pirate Kitty, a.k.a. an alternate version of her Red Queen persona. The team is growing, and so does her enemies, but don't worry, we got a few members left and we'll meet an old on brought back but with a brand new spin. But before we jump into the action, let's hear the reviews!
young justice 17: Glad you liked it; I wanted to add him in there as a small reference, just to showcase the many possibilities of the Multiverse
CydrikSpider: Glad you enjoyed it, I've seen a few Helix followers around here, at least you weren't disappointed
Timeless Writer: Moon Knight was a pretty cool series, Oscar Isaacs nailed it as Moonie but the real star (and epic crush is May Camalawy's Layla. And yes, it was fun to build that chapter in particular (and wait to see one detail about her that I'll show much later)

Wilcard Sparda: Pirate Kitty needed to be humbled after that (and to be honest, it's hard not to picture Kitty as a Pirate without the nose bandage, but sadly, Spidey is not her interest, that's how the Multiverse works.

SHADOWCAT: INTO THE KITTY-VERSE
Chapter 9: This Feels Vaguely Familiar
A flash of light emerges above the well-known Times Square of New York City, revealing the portal where Kitty Pryde and her friends and counterparts jump off, landing right in the center of the street, catching the attention of the large crowd of civilians.
"Whoa… my head is dizzy and I haven't had a single drop of booze since I left" Pirate Kitty comments as she feels the effects of her first travel through a portal, something that Kung-Fu Kitty notices.
"I had that feeling when I joined their team" Kung-Fu Kitty replies to her comment "But as they told me, the more you do it, the easierit gets to get accustomed to"
"Well, one thing's for sure, this is yet another Earth that looks very similar to home" Magik comments as she approaches Kitty "Where did we land, Katya?"
"According to the Webware, we're on Earth-1720" Kitty replies as she checks her Webware and then looks around to notice the large group taking pictures and videos of them "OK, suddenly I want to disappear"
"I can do that!" Soulsword Kitty intervenes "I've seen Yana, my Yana, doing a couple of teleportation spells" she comments, sparking Magik's attention.
"Have you seen her teleport a large group like this?" Magik asks her, causing Soulsword Kitty to lower her head in embarrassment.
"Well, I… I don't think so…" Soulsword Kitty sheepishly replies but Magik approaches her and puts a hand on her shoulder.
"Is alright, I can help you, Two Soulswords work a lot better than one" Magik smiles at her, encouraging her to share the power of the Soulsword and both conjure a massive disk that allows them to teleport away to another point of the city.
MEANWHILE, ABOVE THE SKIES
The large ship known as the Helicarrier flies hiding amongst the clouds, watching over the world and paying attention to every situation that requires the assistance of S.H.I.E.L.D. as several agents monitor the data flow in the Command Deck, until a young female agent catches a blip over New York.
"Director Fury!" a young blonde female agent calls for the Director, prompting the appearance of a tall, bald African-American man with a black beard and the distinctive eye patch, wearing the standard uniform underneath his black leather trenchcoat "Sir, we've detected energy anomalies over the course of the last ten minutes" she begins to explain as she shows the screen.
"Have you pinpointed them?" Fury asks her, prompting the agent to show the blinking point on the screen.
"The first one emerged near the Brooklyn Bridge, then another one appeared over Manhattan, concretely over Times Square, and then it blinked and reappeared across the Financial District, sir" she then changes the screen to reveal the satellite footage revealing the group of women.
"Sir, the system already made facial recognition" another agent, a blonde male one, calls for him "While there isn't a 100% of accuracy, the majority of the women carry a major resemblance to X-Men member Katherine Pryde, sir"
"Pryde?" Fury asks and then looks at the agent.
"Sir, there's another thing you should see" the female agent calls for Fury again "The one from Brooklyn brought this sir" she then shows the massive golden spire on the screen, right in the middle of the Brooklyn Bridge.
"Send a group of agents right there; as for the other one, I have to make a call…" Fury replies, turning back to leave the deck as he pulls his phone out of the inner pocket of his coat to make a call, only to hear the beeping of the voicemail "Captain? It's Fury, I know you're off-country but we have a situation around here that requires your attention and that of your new buddy… if you're already aware of it, and I can bet my good eye that you have, then get me back as soon as you hear this message" he heavily sighs and then walks away, preparing to gather intel about this situation as soon as possible.
BACK IN MANHATTAN
The flash of light from Magik's teleportation spell brings them to another area of the city, this time over a rooftop away from large crowds and uncomfortable situations.
"That's good quick thinking Yana, thanks" Kitty comments to her friend, patting her back to congratulate her.
"Well, not for nothing I'm one of Krakoa's Captains" Magik jokingly replies after taking a breath.
"Well, I assume there's a plan" Sofia talks to her friends, to which Kitty nods in response.
"I do have one" Kitty replies and then looks at the rest of the group "Everyone, listen up!" she calls for her counterparts who begin to gather around "Considering that our group is growing as we move on, I think it's best that we split the group to make both searches easier" she comments to them "Yana will take a group to search for the spire while I take the rest to search for my counterpart"
"Very well, I'll take Shaolin Monk" Magik replies pointing at Kung-Fu Kitty "Robocop" she then points at Director Kitty "and Jack Sparrow" she points at Pirate Kitty.
"Excuse me but contrary to other people's assumptions, Emperor Shang-Chi does not follow the Shaolin teachings" Kung-Fu Kitty quickly corrects Magik "I'm just saying"
"Robocop? That's how you looked at me, Yana?" Director Kitty crosses her arms as she gives a quizzical look at her.
"That's the second reference I got about that, who or what is a Jack Sparrow?" Pirate Kitty throws the question but Magik dismisses it.
"Sofia, you coming or you'll stay with Katya?" Magik asks her as she gathers her small crew.
"I'll stay with Kitty for this one" Sofia replies, stepping aside so Magik can activate her disk and teleport her group.
"As soon as we know something, I'll contact you through the Little Katya's Soulsword" Magik comments just as the flash of light emerges and sends them away, leaving Kitty and the rest on the rooftop.
"Well, how are we gonna start looking for her?" Shadow-Pryde poses the question.
"Pretty much by going through what we already know" Kitty replies "We're in New York, right? You know what that means"
"It's odd to assume that this version of New York is also crowded with superheroes" Veteran Kitty responds to her with a serious tone.
"But it's a possibility, right?" Soulsword Kitty poses the question "I mean, so far it worked with few of us" she points out that detail to them.
"You think that there might be X-Men as well?" Sofia asks Kitty as she checks her Webware device.
"That's what I'm trying to find out" Kitty replies, sifting through the database until she notices the differences "Well, the good news is that there are X-Men, but the bad news is they are located in San Francisco"
"Utopia?" the Veteran Kitty asks her counterpart, to which she nods in response.
"Yup, they've settled down over there so I guess that it'll take a long trip to find this Earth's Kitty Pryde, if we want to recruit…" Kitty comments but before she could draw a new plan, the sound of police sirens echo down below, revealing an attack down at the streets.
"Let me guess… you want to jump down there and save the city" Shadow-Pryde comments with a hint of sarcasm, to which Kitty nods in response.
"Damn right I will, it's called 'Power and Responsibility'…" Kitty replies, pointing out her boyfriend's mantra "Sofia, can you get us down there?"
"I can try" Sofia replies, feeling a bit skeptical about managing to use her powers to help Kitty and her counterparts down.
"I know what you're thinking but it'll be a lot easier if we're all intangible" the Veteran Kitty comments, giving enough confidence to Sofia so she can concentrate and use her powers to send her and her crew down below. Thanks to their intangibility, their bodies become light enough for Sofia's powers, thus they land gracefully nearby the conflict, where a pair of police cars and a SWAT truck are struck down and flipped as the police tries to stop the criminals.
"Who are they? They look really creepy!" Soulsword Kitty comments as she looks at the battle.
"They sure have a thing for snakes" Shadow-Pryde comments noticing their attires, leading to both Kitty and her veteran counterpart to the realization of their enemies' identities. Five women battle against the policemen, all wearing different snake-themed attires
"That's the Serpent Society… or at least part of them" the Veteran Pryde comments and then looks at Kitty "Your call, boss"
"Let's get head on and reduce their numbers one by one" Kitty gives the order and then looks at the fight "Quick moves and stay in defense until you see the opening and then knock them out" she then rushes to the fight, reaching the group of police officers who remain and try to stand against them "Excuse me officers, I'm gonna ask you to stand clear, me and my crew we'll take it from here, I know it's confusing but trust me, they'll be gift-wrapped in the blink of an eye" she tells them, leaving the group of officers visibly confused about what she just said while the Kitty's counterparts and Wind Dancer follow her.
"I know that you're Spider-Man's partner now so that kinda felt like something he would say" Sofia quips at her friend.
"What can I say? He does have his magnetism" Kitty replies "Thank God Yana went away or I'd be bullied again by her" she thinks as she faces the group of femme fatales. As expected, the female members of the Serpent Society stop their fighting as the arrival of Kitty's group has caught their attention, with their direct leader being the first one to notice them.
"Would you look at that? We got a new group of girlies over here" Anaconda, the largest woman with snakes for arms, confronts Kitty "Why don't you turn around now that you got the chance? I mean, if you actually appreciate your lives" she taunts them, but Kitty and her group face her off with a determined look on their faces.
"Sorry Yenta, but we ain't the ones who give up easily" Kitty quips at her and then rushes towards her with the Serpent females following suit against Kitty's group, clashing in the middle of the street.
Black Mamba, the black-haired woman in a white and green dress, makes an effort to take down the Veteran Kitty from the fight, but she manages to block most of the moves her enemy makes and then simply phases through her to kick her from behind.
"No wonder Captain America always kicked your tuchus; you guys can barely put an effort" the Veteran Kitty quips at her, but then Black Mamba turns around and catches the Veteran off-guard with her mind powers.
"Didn't see that coming?" Black Mamba taunts her as her eyes glow due to the use of her Darkhold based powers "Then you're in for a treat!" she then envelops the Veteran Kitty in a series of black tendrils that leave her unable to use her powers.
Asp, the one in the black leather attire, faces off against Soulsword Kitty, who tries to block the energy blasts she fires with her Soulsword by deflecting them away.
"It's time to get rid of you, Big Meanie!" Soulsword Kitty quips while she tries to conjure a spell from the sword "How does Yana says her spells?" she ponders but in that brief moment of distraction, Asp manages to shoot her to her chest, pushing her to a pile of debris.
"You should've stayed at home or at school or wherever the #$%& you came from, little girl" Asp mocks her as she approaches her beaten opponent.
Meanwhile, Wind Dancer deals with the green-dressed Princess Python, who uses a few gadgets against her but Sofia manages to use her wind gusts to pull debris towards her and block her attacks.
"I heard about you, you're dependant of that huge python you carry all around" Wind Dancer quips at her, unaware that said python is slithering behind her.
"Exactly, and now you'll find out why I always bring him with me!" Princess Python exclaims as she snaps her fingers and the python jumps from behind to envelop his body around hers, catching her off-guard.
Shadow-Pryde keeps her eye fixated on her rival, the pink-haired Diamondback, who holds a couple of her explosive diamonds, throwing one of them at her but she deflects it her left hand claws so they can blow the debris behind her back, trying to slash her with her right hand claws as she jumps towards her.
"Is that your power? Throwing diamonds? No wonder they call you like that" Shadow-Pryde taunts her but Diamond back turns around and smirks.
"The thing about my diamonds is that some of them…" Diamondback replies with a smug tone of voice "Have a delay effect" that comment prompts Shadow-Pryde to see that she has one of her diamonds attached at her back and explodes. She tries to go intangible at the last second but the effect already left her a bit disoriented, allowing Diamondback to strike at her with a kick to her chest to push her down.
Anaconda throws her hands at her, but Kitty jumps using the debris to propel herself above her and grabs her tail to phase it down to the ground, leaving her stuck. Anaconda screams in anger while Kitty jumps phasing from below, prompting Anaconda to make another attempt to take her down but Kitty manages to catch her arm and phase it through the ground as well.
"You… #$%&+*¡…" Anaconda tries to curse but Kitty manages to kick her face to knock her down.
"Aw, stop whining, I know those things are cybernetic implants and you won't die if you're stuck, so enjoy the nap until the cops get you back" Kitty quips at her after having defeated her rival but right then she turns around to witness much to her shock how the rest of the female Serpents managed to defeat her friend and her counterparts "Oy Vey…" she murmurs at the sight of the women surrounding her, just as she begins to feel the ground beneath her tremble, realizing that Anaconda is using her strength to break the ground and pull her arms out of them.
"RRRAAAAAARRRGGHHH!" Anaconda roars in anger, looking as if she is ready to foam out of her mouth "I'm gonna break every #$%&+*$& bone in your body!" she exclaims just as she and her crewmates begin to surround Kitty but right when they get closer, each one of the female Serpents suddenly have a golden disc with an 'N' marked on it attached on their bodies "What the-?" Anaconda asks but right then the female Serpents receive a sudden electric shock flowing through their bodies leaving them stunned.
Right then, a female figure jumps down falling nearby them. She has a svelte body figure, wearing a dark blue attire with golden boots and gauntlets, two gold circles on the sides of her collar holding a long gold cape and a prominent cleavage but with a golden top underneath the suit, long brown hair with a blue domino mask and carrying a gold staff on her hands. Anaconda is the first one who catches her breath and looks at the new arrival with fury in her eyes.
"Dammit! It's Nomad" Anaconda angrily exclaims as she tries to regain her strength "ATTACK HER!" she yells at her teammates, still a bit weakened from the previous shock, something that the woman now identified as Nomad takes advantage of to make her move.
Asp is the first one to try, firing her blasts that go right through Nomad's body as she rushes towards her and jumps swinging to her side to connect a strike with her staff over her head knocking her down. Diamondback shoots a couple of diamonds but both are deflected by Nomad's staff, using it to boost herself up and connect a double kick that takes her off the board.
"And to think the Captain's missing all the fun" Nomad quips as she dodges Black Mamba's attack, connecting a strike to her left ribs and then another to the right temple of her head, knocking her out. Right then, Princess Python stumbles as she tries to attack but Nomad decides to stand still and let her go through her body, making a quick move to hit her from behind and bring her down "That's four down and one to go…" she comments and then turns to look at Anaconda "Wanna make it easy and surrender or are you gonna make me punch your teeth down your throat?" she taunts her, provoking her to groan in anger.
"You're gonna pay for…" Anaconda tries to threaten her but she is suddenly halted, noticing that someone is grabbing her by her tail, turning her head to see Kitty being the one holding her.
"Going somewhere, #$%&+?" Kitty quips at her, but when Anaconda turns her head again, she sees Nomad jumping to attack her with a swift strike with her staff, finally knocking her down "That should do it" she comments, now feeling relieved "Thanks for the help, I hope my colleagues are… Oh God!" she turns around to see her friends but notices the huge python still holding Wind Dancer in a tight lock.
"Let me help you!" Nomad exclaims as they approach the python; Nomad begin to strike at it hitting its head with her staff, distracting it to allow Kitty to phase through and grab Wind Dancer to pull her out of there, allowing Nomad to sigh in relief "Thank God…" right then Nomad activates the communicator from one of her gauntlets "Commander Fury, Nomad here, I have five members of the Serpents Society taken down, I request a special command to apprehend them, also I request to activate recovery chambers, I'll explain everything on the way to the Helicarrier" she ends the call and then approaches Kitty, who is helping Wind Dancer to recover "Is she OK?"
"Yeah…" Kitty replies, nodding her head "She seems dizzy, thanks for the help…" she then looks at Nomad and begins to notice the resemblance in spite of the domino mask "Waitaminute… are you…?"
"I am Nomad, Captain America's part…" Nomad begins to reply but she stops when she begins to notice the familiarity "Hang on… are… are you Kitty Pryde?" she asks her in astonishment "As in another universe Kitty Pryde?" she asks, prompting Kitty to nod in response "Oh! My! God!" she begins to exclaim in excitement "Oh my God! I never thought I'd meet another version of me again!" she looks ecstatic at her counterpart while Kitty begins to look at her a bit quizzically.
"Uuuughn… Man, that was a tight grip" Sofia mutters as she tries to recover.
"Everyone alright?" Veteran Kitty poses the question to the rest of the group.
"Where's that #$%&+?" Shadow-Pryde angrily mutters "I want a piece of her…"
"Golly, that was brutal…" Soulsword Kitty mutters "But I'm OK"
"At least we made it" Kitty replies, now feeling relieved, but when she looks at her counterpart, a couple of Quinjets begin to circle around them from above the sky.
"Don't worry, they're with me" Nomad explains to the rest of the group and then looks at Kitty "I promise I'll explain everything aboard the Helicarrier" she talks to her while a group of S.H.I.E.L.D. agents rappel down to greet Nomad "They're not hostiles, I guarantee you that, so let them get aboard and allow them to rest" she talks t them with a serious tone, letting them approach Kitty's group to help them and move to the Quinjets so they can debrief Director Fury and allow the group to recover after the attack.
AFTER A WHILE, ABOARD THE HELICARRIER
Both Quinjets arrive to the Helicarrier, one bringing Nomad and Kitty's group aboard while the other one has the female Serpents cuffed and in custody. Right then, the Director Fury approaches Nomad to speak. After a lengthy conversation, Nomad convinced the Director to allow Kitty's group to recover while she corroborates the information she knows and then head to debriefing.
"You can relax, I convinced Fury to give your crew some rest" Nomad talks to Kitty as the girls head to the recovery area while Kitty and Nomad walk around the Helicarrier and head inside one of the empty rooms for privacy.
"Thanks, for this and the help down there" Kitty replies as she looks at her "I'm gonna go straight to the point, I was about to ask you down there… are you Kitty Pryde?" she asks her, but to her surprise, Nomad shakes her head in denial.
"No, not Kitty" Nomad replies and then takes off her domino mask "I'm Cat Pryde, Catherine with a C" she corrects her with a kind smile "Are you an alternate version of me?"
"Yeah, I'm Kate, or Kitty, Pryde" Kitty replies "And yes, with the exception of Sofia, the girl who was stuck against that python, the other women are also alternate versions of us" she explains to her, making Nomad's eyes sparkle with excitement.
"Oh my God! Never thought I'd see something like that again" Nomad replies with a hint of excitement in her voice, spiking Kitty's curiosity.
"I take it that this isn't your first Multiversal thing" Kitty comments, to which Nomad nods in response.
"Well, it's a bit of a long story, so I'll try to abridge it as much as possible" Nomad replies and then takes a deep breath "A long time ago, I used to be part of a group of Multiversal people called the Exiles, we used to travel across different worlds and right wrongs in dangerous dimensions" she begins to explain her story remembering her times with the Exiles "One time, the team was battling against a version of HYDRA led by an evil Susan Storm, we fought hard and we won, yet… I died" she sighs after saying that part while Kitty approaches her and gently puts a hand on her shoulder.
"Believe me, I get the feeling of fighting and sacrifice your life" Kitty comments, knowing all too well that feeling "But I can tell that you're a great hero, and that should've influenced on how you made it back" she kindly talks to her.
"In fact, when I died, I saw a lot of my counterparts telling me that they were proud of me, even one of them looked like you" Nomad comments, laughing a bit after that, a sentiment that Kitty replies in kind "But then one day, I woke up in an alley in New York, I was totally confused and it took me quite a while to realize what was going on until I was caught in a fight between Spider-Man and a Rhino dude" she explains what went down in her first foray "Needless to say, I helped Spidey beat the crap outta him"
"Tell me you're at least friends with him" Kitty looks at her with a hint of hope that this universe also has their relationship, and to her delight, Nomad reacts with a mild blush.
"Well, I wouldn't say we're friends, but I like to hang out with him, if you know what I mean…" Nomad replies, rubbing her arm as she feels a bit nervous.
"Don't worry, you made the right move" Kitty replies, satisfied with her reaction and the fact that another counterpart has a crush on Spidey, or at least his counterpart "OK, two questions; One, you said that you arrived here, does that mean that you're not the Pryde from this Earth? And Two, how did you become Nomad?"
"No, actually I'm from a different Earth, if I'm not mistaken I'm from Earth-79596, just don't ask me how I remember that number" Nomad jokingly comments that last part to answer the first question "As for my 'Superhero Origin Story', well, my team-up with Spidey helped me to adapt from here. Since I couldn't contact the Exiles, I decided to make the best of my staying and made my research about the X-Men for starters, finding out that they all live in San Francisco" she begins to explain "I tried to contact them but on the way to California I bumped into a terrorist attack attempted by HYDRA along the way, and of course, that triggered the bad memories" she recalls how facing off against a group of HYDRA followers made her remember her death "But I decided to face my demons and fight against them, and it was then… when I met the Cap"
"I take it that you mean Captain America" Kitty comments, to which Nomad nods in response.
"Yeah, I ended up helping Cap defeating them, of course that she wasn't impressed at first, but appreciated the help" Nomad replies, yet Kitty looks surprised when she mentions that this Earth's Captain America is a 'she'.
"Captain America is a woman in this Earth…? Awesome!" Kitty replies, amazed at that fact.
"She totally is" Nomad replies "After I told her my story, she actually believed me because she said that she went through something similar; afterwards we both spoke to Nick Fury and I agreed to work with them" she comments about the agreement she now has with S.H.I.E.L.D. "Cap didn't wanted for me to become the next Bucky since her partner died, so I decided to assume a new identity; I designed this outfit and then I decided to call myself Nomad, since I'm not in my actual universe" she finishes her story, much to Kitty's amazement "OK, it's my turn to ask" she then focuses on her counterpart "What brought you and your group of counterparts to this Earth?"
"Here's the thing" Kitty begins to explain "there's this twisted guy named Mojo who's abusing of the Multiverse for his TV ratings and for that he's installing spires across different universes, which I'm pretty sure includes this one" she explains to her "To beat him, I have an idea but I'll need a bunch of counterparts because of the mutual powerset"
"I would totally join you, for real" Nomad replies, eager to join the crusade "But I'll have to check it first with the Captain" she adds, but before they could carry on the conversation, Nomad receives a call on her communicator.
"Nomad, if your friend's with you, bring her to the deck, one of her companions is calling for her" the voice of Fury is heard, being heard by both women, now looking at each other and nodding in understanding so they can head to the main deck and get some answers. After a while, both reach the place where Fury is waiting for them alongside Kitty's crew.
"Guys? What happened?" Kitty throws the question and then notices that Soulsword Kitty's sword is actually glowing.
"I think Yana's trying to contact us but I wanted you to be here and hear about it" Soulsword Kitty replies and then concentrates to channel the power and establish a connection, managing to invoke a fiery hologram of sorts in the shape of Magik.
"Katya? Can you hear me?" Magik contacts them, although there is a hint of distress in her voice.
"Yana? What happened?" Kitty responds, growing concerned about that call.
"Good news and bad news" Magik replies, now having the sound of explosions being heard in the background "The good news is that we found the spire, the bad news… we're not the only ones looking for it" and right then, one of the agents approaches the group looking nervous and concerned at the same time.
"Sir! We just got a report from the Brooklyn situation" the agent informs Fury "Two HYDRA Dreadnaughts attacked our platoon, the Von Struckers are joining them" he alerts them.
"I want every agent available to lead the attack" Fury replies with a stern voice "And someone get me Captain America or the mother#$%&+* Avengers on the line!" he exclaims as he returns to his position while Kitty, Nomad and the rest look back at the glowing hologram.
"We have to go there, let's head to the hangar" Nomad quickly comments but just as she turns around, Kitty grabs her arm.
"We don't have to use one of those jets" Kitty replies and then looks at Soulsword Kitty and Magik's hologram "Yana, we'll be there, you know the drill, and so do you, younger me" then she looks back at Nomad,, who is feeling confused "My friend has a Soulsword just like that, they can channel each other's energies so we can teleport over there" she explains the plan to her while the hologram fades and Soulsword Kitty begins to channel her energies.
"Alright guys, get close so we can make the trip!" Soulsword Kitty calls for them as her sword glows brighter and in a flash of fire and light, they teleport away from there.
MEANWHILE, AT THE BROOKLYN BRIDGE
After Magik sent her message, she regrouped with her part of the team, all of them taking cover behind a pile of debris with the only things standing between them and the spire being the massive black-and-red HYDRA Dreadnaughts, and on their side, two deadly HYDRA agents clad in black and red suits with green details, a male and a female, both blonde and wielding swords on their hands, the twins known as Fenris, the Von Strucker twins.
"Keep at them! Do not let that scum take a breath!" Andrea gives the order as she holds her hand with her brother and they fire energy blasts at the debris while the Dreadnaughts stop the ground to break the barriers that protect the spire.
"Any news from the 'Boss Kitty'?" Kung-Fu Kitty poses the question.
"They should be here any minute now!" Magik replies after blocking another energy blast.
"Well, it's taking them too #$%&+* long!" Pirate Kitty exclaims with an annoyed tone of voice "I would be drinking a good bottle of whiskey at my ship, and mark my words, I'll demand a crate full of bottles as payment!"
"How 'heroic' of you, Oh Captain Pryde!" Director Kitty sarcastically quips at her while they keep taking cover.
"I'm starting to get tired of this" Andreas speaks to his sister "Let's focus on extract the power from this thing and then we'll destroy these disgusting excuses of people" he adds with anger and annoyance on his voice.
"You turn me on when you speak like that against them, brother" Andrea replies with a provocative tone "Can't wait to finish them off so we can release everything else with mutual passion"
"My thoughts exactly, my dearest sister" Andreas replies in the same manner, holding her hand so they can boost their power and fire a powerful energy blast that breaks the debris and leaves their enemies open to attack.
"GET READY!" Magik exclaims as she stands on guard ready for the attack, but before they could fire another blast at them, a burst of flames and a flash of light emerges revealing the arrival of Kitty's group, much to Magik's relief "FINALLY!" she exclaims, followed by a sigh of relief, now noticing the new incorporation "Seems that you found your counterpart, Katya" she comments while the Von Struckers look in disgust.
"Guess we arrived in the nick of time" Kitty quips as she faces the enemy group "Ugh, now to deal with Neo-Nazi garbage…" she comments with annoyance and disgust.
"Are they too close to each other as well in your world?" Nomad asks her, prompting Kitty to gasp as a response.
"EW! They're doing the Lannister #$%& here too?" Kitty throws the question but then shakes her head "You know what? Don't answer that, let's focus on the tuchus-kicking" she then turns her sight behind her to check on her friend and her counterparts "I hope you still got some fuel left"
"You deal with those two, leave the machines to us" Magik replies as she ignites her Soulsword.
Right then, Kitty and Nomad lead the charge heading against the Von Struckers while the rest of the ladies engage against the Dreadnaughts. The Director and Veteran Kitty Prydes aim at one of the legs, managing to phase through it take off a large amount of wiring to weaken them, prompting Shadow-Pryde and Pirate Kitty to use their sharp weapons to hit on the cannon arms and take them down.
"I'm gonna need a good pack of cigs after this one" Shadow-Pryde mutters after cutting down the arm.
"And I want a bottle of whiskey, no… make it a barrel" Pirate Kitty replies after dodging the energy beams while Director and Veteran make a leap above them and phase through its chest, removing the energy core that ignites it.
"This would've worked a lot better with a Fastball Special" Director Kitty comments after seeing the Dreadnaught falling down.
"Oh Hell No, I'm too old for that #$%& nowadays" Veteran Kitty quips at her, turning their sights to the other Dreadnaught fighting against the rest of the crew.
Kung-Fu Kitty is elevated by Wind Dancer's powers, reaching the top of the machine and connect a series of punches ending with a stronger one that phases her through downwards to the ground, weakening it for Magik and Soulsword Kitty, both charging their weapons and channeling their energies in one might blast that destroys the Dreadnaught.
"That… was… AWESOME!" Soulsword Kitty gleefully exclaims.
"Wait 'till you release the full potential of that" Magik comments, laughing at her reaction.
"You think they can handle them?" Kung-Fu Kitty asks Sofia as they watch Kitty and Nomad hold their ground against the Von Struckers.
"They're eager to beat them, I'm sure they make it through" Sofia replies with confidence as they watch the fight unfold.
Kitty holds on her own against Andrea, who unsheathes her sword to try to hit her but Kitty keeps her defense with quick moves to avoid her, followed by quick strikes against her, giving a barrage of punches in the midsection followed by a backflip kick that throws her away. Meanwhile, Nomad blocks his moves with her staff and then connects a pair of swings to the sides ending with a sweep to his feet to drop him to the ground, allowing her to jump and go for the final blow but Andreas manages to roll away, reaching his sister to help her up to her feet.
"You think you have beaten us!?" Andreas exclaims at them while he holds hands with his sister.
"We'll show you the true power of HYDR-AGH!" Andrea's words are suddenly cut when she is struck in her head by a flying object that quickly bounces on the debris and then hits Andreas as well, knocking him down while the object bounces and reaches the figure that threw it, revealing to be the iconic shield of Captain America.
"You finally make it!" Nomad happily exclaims as she sees her partner arrive. A tall, muscular woman with long brown hair wearing the red, white and blue attire of Captain America with a star on the chest, the stripes and the red boots and gloves, only that this one is not wearing a mask.
"Sorry I was late; Stark kept stalling me with Avengers issues" the Captain replies as she jumps down from the pile of debris she was standing to reach her partner and then looks at the group of women, Kitty being the one who looks at her quizzically "Are those…?" she begins to ask with curiosity.
"Alternate versions of me from other universes" Nomad replies, prompting the Captain to approach Kitty.
"Never thought I'd meet another crew of alt-dimension heroes" the Captain comments as she extends her hand at her but Kitty remains a bit befuddled, raising her index finger as a signal to wait.
"Hang on a sec…" Kitty finally speaks and then turns to look at her crew "Just to be clear and make sure I'm not hallucinating or something but… did she speak with a British accent?" she asks them and right on the spot all the girls nod and mumble in response, confirming her earlier query and thus she turns back to look at the Captain "I'm sorry, is just that you're British and yet you're Captain America?"
"Yes, I know…" the Captain replies with a sigh "It's a bloody long story"
"It never gets old, Peg" Nomad quips at her partner, but the mention of that name makes Kitty realize something.
"Wait a minute…" Kitty murmurs as she slowly comes to the realization "Peg… Peggy Carter… You're Peggy Carter! Steve Rogers' girlfriend from World War II!" she exclaims as she finally grabs her hand to shake it.
"Let me guess, Steve is the Captain in your world?" Peggy asks her, to which Kitty nods in response.
"Yeah, as a matter of fact…" Kitty then turns her head to look at the group "Girls? Show of hands, which one of you have Steve Rogers as Captain America?" she asks them, to which almost all the girls raise their hands, with Kung-Fu Kitty and Pirate Kitty being the exceptions.
"What's a Captain America?" Kung-Fu Kitty asks her Pirate counterpart.
"How should I know?" Pirate Kitty replies shrugging her shoulders.
"I want to thank you for taking down the Dreadnaughts and the Von Struckers… if there's anything I can do to help, you can count on me" Peggy replies, to which Kitty looks at her and then at Nomad.
"Actually, there's one thing and it involves your partner and that thing behind you" Kitty replies pointing at the spire, just as a group of Quinjets begin to appear at the distance now that the battle is over.
AFTER A WHILE
As the S.H.I.E.L.D. agents pick up the pieces of the destroyed Dreadnaughts and take the Von Struckers into custody, Kitty explains the situation to the Captain, with Nomad asking her to allow her to join the group. Peggy shows some reluctance, believing that the risk is too high to lose another partner after having lost Becky, but both Nomad and Kitty reassure her that they will succeed.
"I have a plan that requires a good amount of my own counterparts, Nomad here has what we need plus her previous expertise travelling across the Multiverse can be helpful" Kitty explains to the Captain, who sighs and nods.
"Very well, I know you can put up a fight against whatever threats come towards you" Peggy replies and looks at Nomad "Just be careful, OK?"
"You know you can count on me making a comeback, Cap" Nomad replies and salutes her as a gesture "Oh and if you see Spidey, tell him I'll be seeing him around sometime, OK?" she adds as both women wave goodbye and then joins Kitty as they walk towards the rest of the group.
"I'm glad you're joining us" Kitty replies while they reach the group "Now, before we go, I have one last question…" she then looks at Nomad "Do you know what happened to the Kitty Pryde of this Earth?"
"Wait, this one is not from this Earth?" Magik asks, looking confused.
"No, I'm from a whole different Earth" Nomad replies Magik's question and then looks at Kitty "As for this Earth's Kitty, from what I've read about the X-Men, she's been out of this planet for a few years" she begins to explain "The X-Men fought against these aliens from a place called Breakworld and they had this huge weapon they intended to use and…" right then Kitty raises her hand to stop her, looking at her with a serious semblance on her face.
"Is alright… I know where that story's going" Kitty replies, since the mention of Breakworld already revealed the answer, as well as it brings back the memories from her greatest feat and also her biggest trauma, thus explaining that this Earth's Kitty Pryde is still stuck inside the giant bullet she phased through the planet.
"That damn bullet…" Veteran Kitty murmurs since that comment also triggered the memories, for she has lived through that ordeal as well.
"Well, enough about nostalgia, we're still on the clock so let's go and find a couple more recruits and get down to business, shall we?" Kitty activates her Webware device, opening the portal that will send them to the next dimension. All the girls jumping through ready to join the fight while Peggy Carter looks in the distance as it shuts down.
"Sometimes I wonder if I should be forming my own team of Interdimensional Avengers" Peggy comments to herself but right then, one of the Quinjets flying above suddenly explodes in the air, much to the shock of the Captain "OH MY GOD!" she exclaims as she jumps away and takes cover from the falling debris, but once the debris has fallen, she immediately makes contact with the other two ships "Agents, this is Captain America, do you copy? Anyone alive?" she asks with deep concern in her voice.
"Quinjet A2 here Cap, we're good, just as A3 as well, A1 was the one that took the hit" the agent replies through her communicator "But you should know, A1 was the one carrying the prisoners in custody" the agent adds, making the Captain ponder if this was a plan from HYDRA to ensure that their soldiers do not fall into captivity, but her biggest concern right now is about the dead agent piloting the downed Quinjet.
THEN, AT THE MOJOVERSE
Unbeknownst to the Captain, the Von Struckers were actually teleported to the Mojoverse, appearing in a flash of light and fire inside a white room full of cameras, much to their confusion.
"Vas ist…" Andreas murmurs as he stands and looks around.
"What is this place?" Andrea poses the question, looking at one of the upper corners where a camera is set up "Approaching it to begin to throw insults in her native German while Mojo and Major Domo watch on their screens.
"I knew it would be a problem with the big Russian brute but this confirms it…" Mojo mutters with annoyance as he facepalms "I hate to use subtitles in my broadcasts, now I'll have to add more because of them" he then turns his chair to look at Domo "Domo, go talk to my new acquisitions, give them the hard sell and then send them in separate rooms, I don't want them to do the Hanky-Panky here"
"Umm, sir? You know they are siblings, right?" Domo poses the question, to which Mojo groans and sighs.
"Of course I know!" Mojo exclaims in response "But they are the kind of siblings who took the example of the Greeks and decided to be really close, if you catch my drift" he quickly replies "Blame that Earth show about dragons and excessive nudity, they made the whole 'shagging siblings' thing become mainstream" he adds as he begins to walk away "But that weird thing aside, those two will be a good weapon in my team, and once we're done with the assembling, my ratings will go through the ROOF!" he exclaims, ready to bring down a lot of pain to Kitty and her crew as her quest unfolds.
WOOOO! Another LONG one, folks! Took me a while, but I finally made it.
Before the usual notes, I want to add a few X-Themed comments about the continuity and my works over here.
First, I've been aware of how further I am with the continuity so I'm letting you know that my works will be set in a point way before the current one, so to avoid receiving comments about what's happening now, this stories will be set in previous points and be a bit delayed with the actual stuff (especially since I've been receiving questions about if I'll do a story about this year's Hellfire Gala). I will let you know when I'll be up to date with the current Marvel stuff in my stories, but it'll take me a while to reach there. I hope you guys can understand.
Second, speaking of the current continuity, I'm up to date comicswise, including the "Bodyspray Crossover" (as I'm calling Judgment Day) and as I talked to one of my friends around here (DJ Toku), this one will bite Tony Stark back and it will mess up a lot of the current status quo for the mutants. Also, from the current series, so far I'm impressed with Al Ewing's X-Men Red, Wolverine and X-Force are doing OK (I'm gonna miss Quentin, never thought I'd say it) and Marauders, Steve Orlando lost points by killing Kitty again (I know she'll come back but still, he killed her, that's a No-No)
As for the story, please welcome our new recruit, CAT PRYDE! BT WITH A TWIST! Cat comes from the Exiles/New Exiles run from Claremont himself. I originally thought to include Spoiler-Cat from my "Into the Great Unknown" fic but she lacks the phasing powers to do the trick, so Wilcard Sparda suggested bringing Cat to the story (Thanks for that, pal!) but after reading her story, I decided to use the same method of resurrecting Shadow-Pryde (the Secret Wars aftermath) and put it in this Earth to adopt the identity of Nomad alongside Peggy Carter.
Now, before you ask, no, this isn't the Peggy Carter from the MCU What If, this one actually made her first appearance in one of the mobile games in commemoration of Captain America's 75th Anniversary and then appeared in Saladin Ahmed's Exiles series alongside her own Becky Barnes (later retconned to be Rikki Barnes from the original Heroes Reborn universe) and now made a comeback over here. For our next chapter, we're close to the big stuff, only a couple of recruits to go and this one will carry a very familiar mantle, so stay tuned and I'll see you then!
