Maggie looked at Rick, who frowned. He didn't feel right letting Kagome go without him, "Maybe I should go with you instead of Glenn," Rick said.
Kagome smiled at Rick but shook her head, "One of us has to stay here with Carl. He may seem to be okay, but he still needs us. I wouldn't feel right leaving him alone right now."
Rick thought for a moment, then slowly nodded, "Alright, but you and Glenn, be careful."
Kagome hugged Rick, then leaned up and kissed him, "Of course, we'll be careful. It shouldn't take us very long."
Rick sighed. He knew Kagome could take care of herself, but he couldn't help but worry about her safety. There was an anxious flutter in the pit of his stomach that Rick couldn't shake. Rick only hoped he was overreacting. But before they could leave, Amy stopped them and asked if she could go instead of Glenn. Daryl told Amy that she couldn't go, "Hell, no, Amy, I'm not going to let you and Kagome go by yourselves!"
Amy rolled her eyes, "Oh, come on, Daryl, Kagome, and I can take care of ourselves; you taught me well enough. Besides, I wasn't asking for permission," Amy told Daryl.
Daryl looked at his girlfriend, surprised, but he liked that she was independent and stubborn. He sighed; Daryl knew that he couldn't change her mind, "Fine, but take this," Daryl handed Amy an extra pistol.
Amy smiled and took Daryl's gun, "Thanks, Babe. And don't worry, we'll be okay," Amy assured Daryl and kissed him.
With that, Kagome and Amy left the prison.
While this was going on, Michonne was being hunted in the woods by Merle and several other men. But they were no match for her. She was quickly able to take out the men that were with Merle and get away but not before Merle was able to get a lucky shot and wound Michonne. She was able to stumble her way towards the nearby town and hideout.
Shortly after Michonne hid, Kagome and Amy arrived and went into the nearest store after Kagome made sure that there were no Walkers inside. The two women made their way towards the baby section and began loading a basket with all the available formula. They also took some baby clothes for Judith. After loading the basket with the baby's food, Amy went out to the Suburban. She suddenly stopped short when she ran into a man pointing a gun at her.
Merle smirked when he recognized Amy, "Well, well, well, if it isn't Sugar Tits' little sister. I never thought to see you again."
Amy gasped when she saw Merle, "Merle!"
"Ah, so you do remember me," Merle said, then looked around, "Who else is with you?"
Amy didn't say anything even when he cocked his pistol. Suddenly, Merle felt a gun pressed against the back of his head, "Let Amy go before I blow your head off," Kagome said.
Merle smirked, "Go ahead, but I guarantee if you kill me, I'll take Blondie with me."
Kagome hesitated. She knew that Merle was right, so she lowered her weapon. Merle quickly turned around and grabbed Kagome and pushed her in front of him; he grinned when he recognized her, "So if it isn't the little Chink bitch that was with Officer Friendly. This day keeps getting better and better."
Merle motioned for Kagome and Amy to get into the Suburban and made Amy drive and gave her direction to Woodbury while he sat in the back seat with Kagome pressing his gun into her ribs. After the trio left, Michonne came out of her hiding place. She picked up the baby formula and bag of clothes and headed towards the prison that she heard the women talking about earlier. Michonne was going to use the supplies for the baby and the information that she had to bargain for assistance. But as she made the trek towards her salvation, she ran into a few Walker. She killed them but not before she was sprayed with their rotten blood. Breathing heavily and holding her bleeding side, Michonne overlooked a few Walkers stumbling towards her. She was surprised when they walked past her. Michonne realized that the Walker's blood was disguising her; she then kneeled and cut the Walkers open and covered herself in more blood to make sure to mask her scent. Once covered in their rotten scent, Michonne made her way through the woods towards the prison.
As this was going on, Merle, Kagome, and Amy arrived in Woodbury. Merle identified himself, and the gate was opened. He instructed Amy to drive to a building in the back where they kept prisoners for questioning. Merle had Martinez help him take Kagome and Amy into separate interrogation rooms; then, he informed the Governor of the captured prisoners. When the Governor heard that one of the women was with Merle's old group with him and his brother and that she was Andrea's sister and that the other was an Asian woman, his eyes lit up. Philip knew that this was the woman who had the strange powers that could cure the Walkers.
Philip quickly followed Merle towards the room where Kagome was being held. Before walking into Kagome's imprisonment, he put on his public diplomatic facade. Philip opened the door and smiled at Kagome, but this man didn't fool Kagome. She had heard them outside the door and flared her aura, and recognized that the man standing on the other side was a cruel, sadistic individual and that he wouldn't hesitate in killing her and Amy if he didn't get what he wanted. The door opened, and the Governor walked in smiling at Kagome.
"I apologize for the rough treatment, Miss, but we have to be cautious with the people that come into our town."
Kagome stared at Philip but didn't answer him. The Governor's smile faltered when he saw Kagome's cold gaze. He suddenly felt uncomfortable under her scrutiny, as if she could see into his black heart. Philip mentally shook off the feeling and walked towards her slowly as if she were a frightened animal. Kagome watched the man walk into the room, but she didn't shrink away from him. She stood proudly in front of him and waited to see what he wanted with her and Amy. Kagome wasn't too concerned about herself; she was used to being kidnapped. Her concern was for Amy; Kagome knew that this man wanted something from her and that he wasn't above hurting Amy to get what he wanted. Still, Kagome wasn't going to let her guard down no matter what.
"We didn't ask to be brought to your town; Merle kidnapped us," Kagome told the Governor.
The Governor smiled, "I'd like to apologize for that. Merle told me that your friend Amy was friends with his brother; I'm sure that's the reason he brought you here; to get information about his brother."
Kagome crossed her arms, "Merle could have asked us. He didn't have to kidnap us at gunpoint."
"Merle is a little rough around the edges and impulsive," Philip said, then sat down on the table while he motioned for Kagome to sit in the chair. Kagome remained standing.
"So, do you know where Merle's brother is?"
Kagome didn't answer.
Philip began to interrogate Kagome about where her group was and how many people were in it. Kagome still didn't answer. Philip sighed and decided to change tactics, "You know, if you tell me where your group is, I can go and offer them a place to stay where they'll be safe. I understand that you're a doctor, Kagome. We can use someone like you here."
Kagome looked at Philip, surprised, "How do you know my name?"
Philip smiled, "Andrea told me. She spoke very highly of you."
Kagome knew instantly that this man was lying. No matter how good of a doctor Kagome was and that she had saved Amy, Andrea wouldn't have spoken kindly of Kagome. Kagome narrowed her eyes, "What else did Andrea tell you about me?"
The Governor got this strange glint in his eyes, and he smiled manically, "That you had special powers."
Meanwhile, at the prison, Rick was going out of his mind. It was taking the girls longer than it should have for them to complete their run. He kept pacing back and forth along the catwalk, watching the road for any sign of the vehicle. A little while later, Daryl joined Rick in his vigil. The two men stood there staring out, waiting, hoping that the girls would be back soon.
"I knew we shouldn't have let them go by themselves," Rick mumbled to Daryl.
Daryl nodded in return, "Yeah, but we both know how Kagome and Amy are, they're both stubborn, and they would have continued to insist that they could handle it on their own."
"Yeah, I know. I have this feeling something terrible happened," Rick said as he scanned the area where the Walkers were gathering along the fence line.
Rick's eyes paused when he saw something strange standing close to the entrance. He raised his binoculars and peered out; there, standing among the Walkers, was a woman covered in blood, and it looked like she was holding a basket.
"What the hell?" Rick exclaimed.
"What?" Daryl asked.
Rick handed Daryl the binoculars then pointed to where the woman was, "Who the hell is that?" Daryl asked when he lowered the binoculars and looked at Rick.
"I don't know; let's go find out."
With that, Rick and Daryl made their way down to the gate to see what the bloody woman wanted. Both men were surprised to see that she was holding a basket filled with formula and baby clothes. Dread entered Rick's heart as he stared at the woman; he motioned with his head for the woman to make her way towards the gate. As she ambled her way in that direction, Daryl noticed that she was injured and told Rick. Rick became more suspicious of the woman, who had injured her, and why did she show up with baby formula? There was only one way to get his questions answered. When the woman got to the gate, Rick would let her in and then question her about Kagome and Amy.
