Kagome and Rick headed out of the tower and ran inside the prison, where they could talk with Hershel about performing their wedding ceremony. When Carl saw Kagome and Rick walk in, he couldn't help but grin at how happy Kagome and Rick looked. Carl knew without a doubt that Kagome had accepted. Carl was excited as he watched his parents walk toward him holding hands. He ran out to meet them; when Carl got closer, he saw Kagome wearing the wedding ring. He hollered for joy and ran into Kagome.

"Did Dad do it? Did you say yes, Kagome? The ring means you're married to my dad now, right?" Carl asked, looking up at the woman he now considered his mother.

Kagome laughed and hugged Carl tightly, "Yes, baby, I accepted, but we're not married yet. Hershel has to perform the ceremony.

Carl smiled and jumped up and down at the thought of having Kagome become his official mother. Rick put his hand on his son's should and then kneeled in front of him, "Carl, I wanted to ask you if you'd like to be my best man."

Carl grinned and opted into his father's arm, "Of course, Dad!"

"Good, now, let's go tell the others."

Rick wrapped his arm around Carl's shoulders and Kagome's waist, and they went into the cell block. When they went inside, everyone could tell that something was going on. Rick cleared his throat to get everyone's attention.

"Kagome and I have an announcement to make. We've decided to get married, and if it's alright with you, Hershel, we'd like you to perform the ceremony."

The group stared at the couple for a moment until Amy squealed and rushed to Kagome and hugged her tightly, "I'm so happy for you, both of you. I knew it was only a matter of time."

Kagome hugged Amy back, "Thank you, Amy."

And with that, the other women congratulated Kagome and Rick. When Daryl finally congratulated Kagome, she pulled him aside to talk to him, "Daryl, I have a favor to ask you. You know that from the beginning, you and I have had a special bond, and I consider you my brother; it would make me very happy if you would walk me down the aisle."

Daryl stared at Kagome, stunned; he didn't know what to say. After a moment, Daryl gave Kagome a rare smile and accepted. Kagome gave him a dazzling smile and hugged the hunter; after that, Amy pulled Kagome away from Daryl and toward the other women.

"Okay, we have got to find you a wedding dress," Amy said.

Sofia squealed, "Yes! There has to be someplace we can find a wedding dress. I'm sure people didn't bother to take them."

"Guys, that isn't necessary; I don't need a wedding; I only want to marry Rick."

Michonne smiled at Kagome and put her arm around Kagome, "Kagome, with everything that's happened, we need something to celebrate, something normal. Let us do this for you."

Kagome sighed but accepted; she realized there was no changing the women's mind. So, Kagome and the girls, along with Daryl and Glenn, headed for the nearest town to see if they could find a bridal shop. They scouted the area for Walkers, and once they made sure the area was clear, the girls went into the shop while Daryl and Glenn scavenged for supplies.

It took a couple of hours for Kagome and the girls to pick out a gown; then, they picked out some decorations to decorate the cell block. After that, they met up with the men and headed back to the prison.

When they arrived, and Rick saw the garment bag that contained Kagome's wedding dress, he pestered Kagome to let him know the dress and tried to peek inside. Finally, Michonne took the dress and took it to her cell instead. Rick pouted, and Kagome laughed and hugged him.

"You'll have to wait until the wedding day, Rick, like every groom."

Rick huffed, but he kissed Kagome and agreed. They set a date for two days later, which would give the women time to decorate and to see if the ovens worked. If they did, Carol decided that she would bake a wedding cake for the couple. It wouldn't be anything fancy but something they could all enjoy.

Two days passed quickly, and the wedding day arrived. Rick and Kagome were not allowed to see each other until their wedding day. Rick stayed in the cell block while Kagome remained in the administration building. When everything was set up, Daryl came and got Kagome.

Daryl knocked on the door, and Kagome told him to come in, "You almost ready?" Daryl asked, then gaped at Kagome.

"I think so," Kagome said, then turned to face Daryl. She frowned when she saw Daryl's expression, "Is something wrong?"

Daryl shook his head, "Nah, you look beautiful, is all. Rick is a lucky man, Kagome."

Kagome beamed at her best friend, "Thank you, Daryl."

"You're welcome. Are you ready?"

Kagome took a deep breath and let it out slowly to steady her nerves, "Yes, I'm ready."

Daryl offered his arm, and they walked out of the administration building and headed for the cell block. The duo entered the cell block, and Kagome gasped. Amy and the others had decorated it beautifully. They had even found music to play for Kagome as she walked down the aisle towards Rick.

Rick, for his part, had left the prison with Dale and Carl and found two suits for him and his son. He thought that if Kagome was going to wear a wedding dress, he was going to dress up as well. So, there Rick stood with Carl at his side, waiting for the love of his life to make her appearance. Suddenly he heard the music start, and Carl tapped his arm. Rick looked down at his son; then Carl motioned with his head; Rick looked towards the cell doors, and he gasped when he saw Kagome. She was a vision of loveliness. Rick's entire face lit up when he saw Kagome, and she blushed prettily. Rick's eyes started to tear up when Kagome began walking toward him. The only thing he could think was how lucky he was to have a woman like her love him.

Rick wiped the tears from his eyes when Kagome arrived at his side. Daryl placed Kagome's hand in Rick's, "I'm trusting you with my sister, Rick, treat her right, or you're going to answer me," Daryl threatened.

Rick looked at Daryl, "You know I will, Daryl."

With that, Rick and Kagome turned to face Hershel, and the ceremony began, "Dearly beloved, we have gathered here today to witness the union between Kagome Higurashi and Rick Grimes."

The rest of the ceremony was a blur for Rick and Kagome; all of their concentration was on each other, and the world seemed to fade away. The only thing that Rick heard was the wedding vows and that he could kiss his bride. He leaned down and captured Kagome's lips in a tender kiss. Their friends cheered, and the reception began. It was a modest reception, but everyone had a wonderful time. When it was time for Kagome to toss her bouquet, Amy was the one who caught it. She shyly looked at Daryl, who had turned bright red.

After the ceremony, Rick led Kagome to another cell block that had been cleared out so they could have some privacy and not disturb the others. While that was going on, the others dismantled Rick and Kagome's bed so that it would be big enough for both of them to lie down comfortably when they returned, though they were not expected back for at least a week.
