As this was going on, Rick and Kagome were enjoying their time as newlyweds. Instead of going to another cell block, they decided to stay in the warden's office. There was a roll-out bed, and it wasn't as eerie as being alone in a cell block. The couple spent most of their time talking, cuddling, and making love. The only time anyone saw the couple was during mealtimes, and it was usually Rick grabbing food and heading back to Kagome. He would walk into the cell block with a cocky grin, grab some food and hurry out again. But their marital bliss was cut short one morning when Dale knocked urgently on their door.
Rick woke up with a groan, "Who is it?"
"Rick, it's Dale. I hate to bother you and Kagome, but you two better come take a look outside," Dale told him.
Rick groaned, "Okay, we'll be there in a minute."
Rick looked at Kagome, still asleep, and nudged her, "Honey, we need to get up. Dale said there's something urgent going on outside."
Kagome groaned and rolled over, "Do we have to?"
Rick chuckled, "I'm afraid so. Come on, let's get dressed."
Kagome sighed and threw the blankets off of her, and stood up. Rick's eyes roved over his wife's naked body, and he wished they had time for one more round, but he knew that whatever Dale wanted had to be vital for him to interrupt them. Rick shook his head and looked away. He grabbed his clothes and got dressed. Once they were both ready, they left the warden's office and headed outside.
Rick and Kagome met up with Glenn and Daryl, who was looking through some binoculars, "What's going on?" Rick asked.
"Someone is coming towards the prison, and they're using a Walker to keep the others away."
Rick furrowed his brow and took the binoculars when Daryl handed them to him. He looked and waited for the person to step out from behind the mutilated Walker. Suddenly, Rick gasped, "It's Andrea," He told the others.
Daryl frown, "What the hell is she doing here?"
"I don't know, but she could be a decoy. Everyone stay sharp." Rick ordered. Glenn, Daryl, and Kagome nodded.
Rick informed Amy and the others that though Amy was excited to see her sister, she was still cautious. Everyone grabbed their guns and made their way towards the fence. The minute Andrea got to the wall, Rick pulled her in and slammed her face against it so he could frisk her.
"Are you alone?" Rick asked.
"Rick, what are you doing?" Andrea asked, confused.
"I said, are you alone?!" Rick demanded.
"Yes, yes, I'm alone. No one knows I'm here."
Rick glared at Andrea, "What are you doing here?"
"I came to see if my sister and the rest of you were alright," Andrea explained.
Daryl said, "You mean after your boyfriend tortured Amy and Kagome?" Daryl asked angrily.
Andrea's eyes widened, "What?! Amy was tortured?"
"Yes, but luckily Kagome was there to heal Amy," Rick growled, "Now, I'm going to ask you again, what do you want?"
Andrea sighed, "I want to help. I don't want to see the two groups I care about slaughter each other. Can I at least come in and talk to you all?"
Rick debated for a moment, then looked at his group; Dale nodded, as did Hershel. Rick sighed, "Alright, if you want to come into the cell block, you must turn over any weapons you may have."
Andrea looked at Rick in disbelief. Rick had changed, he was more complicated and more cautious, but she relinquished the knife she had and the bag so that he could search it. After that, Rick led Andrea into the cell block at gunpoint. She walked into Cell Block C and was amazed and slightly appalled by their living conditionally noticed that the group was smaller than when they were at the farm. Andrea asked for those that were missing, and they informed her that they didn't survive.
"And Shane?" Andrea asked.
Rick looked her in the eyes and shook his head.
"What about Lori and the baby?"
At that moment, Beth came in holding Judith; Andrea smiled and asked if she could have the infant. Beth looked at Rick for permission, and he nodded. Andrea took Judith and rocked her; she looked up at Carol, "Where's Lori?"
Carol sadly looked at Andrea and shook her head. Andrea became distressed and looked at Carl, "Oh, Carl, I'm so sorry."
Carl only nodded and went to stand by Kagome, who hugged the little boy to her. Andrea scowled at Kagome, "Aren't you a doctor, Kagome? Why didn't you save Lori? Or was that your plan all along? To let Lori die so you could take her place?"
Rage bubbled up inside Rick listening to Andrea insult his wife, "How dare you insult Kagome like that! Kagome wasn't with Lori when she went into labor; they were separated during the attack."
Maggie then took Judith from Andrea and handed her back to Beth, "How dare you think that Kagome would deliberately let Lori die! No matter how much Lori hurt Rick and how much Lori hated Kagome, Kagome would have given her the best care she could offer!" Maggie yelled at Andrea.
Kirara, who was sitting on Carl's shoulder, suddenly jumped down and hissed at the strange woman. The Neko was about to transform as she considered Andrea a threat to her family, but Carl called her, and Kirara went back to Carl and jumped into his arms again. Andrea eyed the two-tailed cat suspiciously; then, she turned to Rick, "Why did you attack Woodbury? We're a peaceful town; there was no need for such violence."
Rick looked at Andrea in disbelief, "You expect me to believe you have no idea what your precious Governor did to Kagome, Amy, and Michonne?"
Andrea looked at Rick, confused. Rick looked at her and rolled his eyes, "I don't believe this, That so-called Governor ordered Merle and several other men to hunt down Michonne and kill her, and when he couldn't find her, he kidnapped Amy and Kagome to get information out of them as to our whereabouts."
Andrea shook her head in disbelief, "No, Philip would never do that."
Amy stepped forward, "Well, believe it, Andrea. He beat Kagome, and I tried to force us to give them information, but we didn't say a word. Thankfully, Kagome was able to heal our wounds with her powers. Though he still beat Kagome within an inch of her life when she couldn't help him bring his daughter back to life. If it wasn't for Rick, Daryl, Oscar, and Michonne, Kagome might have died of her wounds, and I would have been raped!" Amy yelled at her sister.
Andrea's eyes filled with tears, "I had no idea," she whispered.
"Well, now you do," Amy said, and Daryl wrapped his arms around her.
"I'm going to fix this; I promise," Andrea told the group with a determined look in her eyes.
Rick sighed; he didn't think that Andrea could do anything. He was pretty sure that they were going to end up going to war with the Governor, but if Andrea wanted to try, Rick wasn't going to stop her.
After Andrea had visited for a while longer, Rick got a car ready for her to head back to Woodbury safely. She thanked him, and he told her that she was always welcome to come back and be with them.
"We're family, Andrea, and you'll always be a part of that."
"Thank you, Rick, but I have to try to fix this."
Rick nodded and signaled for Glenn to open the gate, and with that, Andrea drove back to Woodbury. As they watched her go, Kagome and Daryl came and stood next to Rick.
"Do you think she'll succeed," Daryl asked.
Rick didn't look at him, "No, I don't."
"I felt his aura, Daryl; the Governor is an evil and sadistic man."
Daryl stared at Kagome, "Then we best get ready for a fight."
"Yeah, we should," Rick said in agreement.
