Balrock walked several meters behind the group of teenagers who were walking ahead of him along with a certain blacksmith.
"Welcome to dragon training!" exclaimed Gobber as he smoothly lifted the gate with reinforced bars.
Our beloved protagonist looked ahead with a touch of curiosity because one of his future training partners caught his attention.
"There's no turning back," Astrid said to herself as she closed her eyes for a moment and then began to walk inside the large cage.
Balrock imitated the group of teenagers and entered after they were already in the middle of the place where they would train to become dragon hunter warriors.
I hope to get good armor (Tuffnut) ... I hope to get some big bites, like on the shoulder or back (Ruffnut) ... Yes, the joke is to get some good scars (Astrid).
The teenager with tousled black hair preferred to remain silent and not express any opinion in order to go unnoticed in front of his classmates, but apparently the gods were against him because a certain blacksmith ruined everything.
"Balrock, boy! Yes, you came!" commented Gobber in a voice with a big smile as he patted him hard on the back, very close to his right shoulder.
The Saiyan formed a grimace as he rubbed his right shoulder and also glared at the blacksmith, who chuckled in response.
Oh, great (Snotlout) ... Who let the weirdo in? (Ruffnut) ... I hope he's not an obstacle in my way (Astrid).
Balrock lowered his gaze to the ground at the words that were directed at him.
"Let's get started!" Gobber immediately cut off the words of the brats that were bothering his blacksmith assistant. "The recruit who does the best... will win the honor of slaying his first dragon... in front of the whole village," he said in an amused and dramatic tone.
The future dragon slayers (except Balrock) talked among themselves with much enthusiasm leaving aside that a certain boy with exotic black hair is there... For now.
"Don't worry, son. You'll do fine," assured Gobber with a smile that made his stone tooth stand out a lot.
The coal-dark-eyed teenager formed a small, grateful smile at the blacksmith's words of encouragement, while at the same time stepping to Fishlegs' right side.
"Behind these doors are just a few of the many species... who will learn to fight!" commented Gobber loudly, his arms behind his back.
Balrock turned his gaze curiously to the oversized wooden doors with barred bars to keep the dragons from escaping, but his concentration was put on the line at Fishlegs' mutterings every time a certain instructional blacksmith called out a dragon's name.
"Shut up!" shouted Gobber very annoyed at how dense his students could get.
The future dragon slayers (including Balrock) swallowed saliva at the blacksmith's angry expression.
"And the Gronckle." Gobber finished listing all the dragons they have locked up.
Our beloved protagonist raised an eyebrow as he watched the blacksmith take his healthy hand to the metal lever that served to allow the beast on the other side to get out.
"Jaw 8..." whispered Fishlegs to the boy on his right side.
Balrock wasn't quite sure what to make of that information from the shy, stocky boy.
"W-Wait! Aren't you going to teach us first?" asked Snotlout with a fearful expression at the prospect of facing a dragon for the first time in his life.
The other students (except Balrock) were also concerned when they saw that the instructor was about to open the door where the dragon called 'Gronckle' was located.
"Well, I think you only learn by doing it," Gobber replied as he lowered the lever.
When the big door opened, out immediately came a very angry bulky dragon who quickly digested towards the group of teenagers with the intention of ramming them with his heavy, rock-hard body.
"Balrock, move from there!" shouted Gobber at the top of his lungs and this was because his assistant in the smithy was the only one of the group who did not move from the spot.
The teenager with tousled black spiky hair doesn't know why he did it? Perhaps he wanted to check if the strength of a Gronckle was similar to that of a Night Fury; obviously he checked this first hand because the spiked club-shaped tail hit Balrock squarely... This blow would have been fatal to any human because of the power with which said attack came, but somehow it didn't hurt him that much and instead sent him 'flying' to the other side of the cage where he crashed into some barrels of fish heads.
"Balrock! You're out!" said Gobber loudly as he patted his face with his healthy hand because he didn't expect his helper in the smithy to be the first to be defeated and in a rather stupid way.
Tuffnut, Ruffnut and Snotlout laughed out loud at the misfortune of Loki's "son".
Meanwhile, Fishlegs looked sympathetically at the boy who was not wanted in the village... When they were children, the two were good friends, but his parents forbade him to play with him and since then they never spoke to each other again.
Astrid on the other hand had a completely different reaction to the others and this was that she noticed that Balrock did not have any wound (at the moment when he came out of the rotten fish), not even a superficial scratch... But in the end he shook his head because maybe it was just his imagination.
"Go take a bath, boy... You stink like rotten fish," Gobber commented with a grimace at the strong repulsive odor coming from his blacksmith's assistant.
Balrock looked at his clothes ruined by fish visors and couldn't help but agree, so without wasting any time he turned around and ran off in the direction of the pond he had been going since he was a boy.
A Few Minutes Later
A certain Saiyan didn't think twice when he reached the place where he was hiding Thor and threw himself off the cliff.
"Hey, Thor!" exclaimed Balrock the name of a certain black-colored dragon because it didn't take him long (practically nothing xd) to find his flying friend, as the latter was drinking water from the pond.
The coal-dark-eyed teenager was greeted with a plasma ball that he managed to narrowly dodge and ended up shattering another random rock.
"Yeah, I missed you too," Balrock said with a smile, oblivious to the fact that a certain green-eyed dragon had attacked him.
The Night Fury didn't seem to share his happiness because he was very hungry which he tried to camouflage (hide) by drinking water from the pond, but suddenly his sense of smell caught something that caught his attention.
"I brought you something to eat," Balrock added as he put down the wicker basket with several large fish. "Thor? Why are you looking at me like that?" he asked with a confused expression as he saw the flying reptile begin to walk towards him slowly but surely.
The dragon stared at the "human" in a different way... as if it were an oversized fish, the brain sometimes plays funny games on certain occasions.
"Oh... Maybe it's the fishy smell," Balrock deduced with a grimace at the repulsive aroma his body was giving off. "Now I'll take a bath-"
The Saiyan didn't get to finish his words because he was knocked down and pinned down by the Night Fury named "Thor".
"Ouch!" Balrock groaned in pain at the unexpected blow he received. "Let go, lizard!" he demanded as he began to use his superhuman strength to break free from Thor's grip, but suddenly let out a piercing scream as the dragon bit his sensitive little (wrong thinking :v... ok no xD) Saiyan tail.
The shriek (XD) of the coal-dark-eyed teenager was heard all over Berk Island, scaring all the Vikings that inhabited it.
In The Night
Balrock really had no notion of time until it became dark, so in the blink of an eye he appeared in front of the Thing and without wasting any time he brought his right hand to open the doors of that place.
"I hope they left me some food-"
Did you see the pigtail that fool got? (Snotlout) ... Yeah, hahaha! (Tuffnut and Ruffnut) ... He... Will he be alright? (Fishlegs) ... How could he resist that blow? He should be with broken bones or dead... (Astrid).
Our beloved protagonist lowered his hand as he listened to the comments of his "comrades" and his enthusiasm fizzled at what he heard from them.
"Well... It looks like I'll be eating alone... Again," thought Balrock with a depressive aura surrounding him from head to toe.
Suddenly, though, an idea formed in the brain of the teenager with tousled black spiky hair, to the point that it made him forget everything he heard from his training partners.
"I know!" exclaimed Balrock as he realized he never took his flying friend into account. "I'll go eat with Thor," he thought with a smile because he was sure that the Night Fury 'would be happy' to see him again; without wasting any more time he turned around and started running towards the forest in the direction of the pond.
Unbeknownst to the Saiyan, Astrid saw him running towards the forest... she was tempted to follow him out of mere curiosity to know where he would go in the middle of the night, but she stopped short at the last second because she immediately remembered that tomorrow she would have more training and it would certainly be difficult, so in the end she walked in the direction of her house to rest her body and mind.
Elsewhere
A flotilla of three Viking ships was slowly but surely heading towards the fog where the dragon's home was located; their mission was to find this last place with the intention of destroying it forever.
"Take us inside," Stoick ordered coolly because he could sense that a dragon was close by stalking them and he obviously wanted to kill it with his own hands.
His fellow soldiers swallowed saliva at the chieftain's order because they knew that this mission was suicidal and complete madness, but they never took it against the red-haired man and without complaining they agreed to follow him to the end.
"Hard to port! Towards the Gates of Darkness!"
Stoick watched undeterred as his ship moved with his comrades into dragon territory... Lightning struck nearby and the silhouette of a Monstrous Nightmare came into view in the fog.
