And here we have chapter three of the DLC story. You still know about the disclaimer and all that crap. Anyways, enjoy!

Chapter 3: Heads of the Hewdraw + DLC: Despisement and Hatred

Music playing: Heads of the Hewdraw

"Hurry, Pit!" ordered Palutena, as Pit rushed to the door with his Saggitarius Bow. "What's the matter?" he asked as he flew through the door and noticed Underworld monsters attacking him. "Medusa has brought the fight to our realm," the goddess explained. "Her forces are invading Skyworld!" Pit began to take them out with his weapon, despite them being tough to do so. "She must be getting back at us for taking down Dark Lord Gaol," Pit wondered in surprise. "Medusa's venom knows no bounds," Palutena agreed. "But I know you can stop her Underworld Army." "You sure have a lot of faith in me, Lady Palutena," said the comforted angel. Those monsters were surely not going down without a fight, since they indeed wanted payback for defeating Gaol back at the castle and freeing her from them. But Pit was still triumphant to take all of them down, no matter how tough they were. "If you're struggling with a large group of enemies, you can use a Special Attack," explained Palutena. "Just focus your attack and then launch to release it. It'll take out enemy fire too." Pit did so and the monsters were taken down by that powerful move. Although, there were still more Underworld enemies to take down. It would seem that they just won't give up and instead keep trying to take down their enemy. "Do these guys ever get tired?" asked Pit. "At this rate, the Power of Flight is going to expire before they do," replied the worried Palutena. "Then let's go after their commander!" Pit suggested. "There's just one thing you should know," Palutena warned. "Their commander is Hewdraw." "Hewdraw?" Pit questioned, "Like, this guy?" He pulled up a picture of the commander in his 8-bit appearance from the original Kid Icarus. "And speak of the devil—there he is!" said Palutena as she and Pit saw him, along with two other heads, flying. "He can fly?" asked Pit in disbelief. "I think the only one who can't fly by himself is you," replied Palutena. "Ouch," groaned Pit. "That's harsh!" (A/N: I agree with Pit on that one.) "Don't sulk, Pit," said Palutena. "It's undignified. But you're right: attacking the leader is a good plan." "Let's do it!" said the determined angel. However, more and more Underworld monsters were still trying to stop him from reaching Hewdraw. Luckily for our hero, he still took them down without any harm. He then received four more Recovery Orbs to replenish his health and then he was face-to-three-face with Hewdraw and his brothers. "Hello there!" started the blue head. "It's snack time!" said the violet head next. "Mm!" said the red one, "What a tender little morsel!" "I am NOT a piece of meat!" shouted the angel, as he continued to take down more enemies who were getting in his way. "What did you say?" asked the red head. "Technically, you are," said the violet one. "Just come a little closer," said the blue one. "Get ready, 'cause it's time for-" Pit began before he got interrupted by the heads. "Total annihilation!" "Bone-crushing destruction!" "Face-stomping carnage!" they all shouted at once. This caused a heated argument between the three stooges. "It was MY turn to have the last word!" "Oh, give it a rest." "Let's not argue in front of company." "Cram a sock in it, foot face!" I'm soooo sick of you guys." Me?! What did I do?!" "Knock it off already!" "YOU knock it off!" "I can't believe this is my life." "Can we go home and watch TV now?" "Would everyone just shut it?!" "Someone put me out of my misery." "Did I mention I'm starving?" "And you think we're not?!" The three of them kept arguing one by one without even focusing on their target. (A/N: When I was writing this down from the game, I was laughing about this skit.) "Um..." Pit began. "Now what?" "This is never going to end," Palutena sighed. "Just go ahead and attack." The heads finally decided to stop arguing. "EVERYONE SHUT UP AND FOCUS!" they all yelled out, simultaneously. This began a fight and Pit attack the Hewdraw while the heads attempt to fight and defeat him, though it was not going to be easy since Pit continued to shoot at them. (A/N: I'm putting in the order of the heads I want to be taken out just so you know.) Pit then took out Violet head first and then the Blue head next, leaving the Red left standing. "Gah!" he cried in disbelief. "The other heads! You have no right!" "Actually, I'd say YOU have no right!" replied the angel. "OK, that's it!" yelled the angry red head. "You're going down!" However, the head doesn't keep up to take down the angel and Pit managed to defeat him. "Aaaaaaaaaaugh!" he cried as he fell into the clouds and exploded, leaving his remains returning back to the Underworld. "And that's that!" Pit cheered, victoriously. "Not so fast," warned Palutena. "Hewdraw heads can live without a body. You'd better follow them." She then guided Pit to dive down into the clouds, while more and more Underworld monsters come out to attack him. Pit received four more Recovery Orbs to replenish his health and then continued to fight against the enemies. "The Underworld forces are retreating," said Palutena. "Mission accomplished!" cheered Pit again. "Far from it," Palutena warned. "Those two Hewdraw heads are still alive. They've plunged into the human world below and taken their legion with them!" "Then we'd better do something!" Pit replied. He then continued to take down more Underworld monsters and then nearly landed on the Overworld. "Oh!" he yelped. "Uh..." He then looked around to notice something horribly wrong going on at That Burning Town. "This is bad!" he said. "Let's hurry," said Palutena. "For a pair of disembodied heads, they sure moved fast!" She then increased the Power of Flight's power to help Pit go faster and head to the town quickly, while more and more Underworld monsters come out to stop him. Luckily, they were no match for our hero. He then arrived at That Burning Town, but Pit doesn't know where the heads were. "I don't see the Hewdraw heads anywhere!" he cried. "Where'd they go?!" "Don't lose YOUR head too, Pit," replied Palutena. "Let's check the town." She then guided Pit to fly into the town in order to find those heads. "Hoo-hooo-yah!" exclaimed the angel as he entered That Burning Town.

"Herghhh," Pit grunted as he landed in the town. "The people have all gone into hiding, but where did those Hewdraw heads go?" he asked before eating the food. "They could be anywhere," replied Palutena. "We need to stop them before they wreak even more havoc! As you search for them, take out any Underworld troops that cross your path. There's an alley next to the rubble that you can pass through." Pit then headed through the alley and proceeded to take down more Underworld enemies. "There's a courtyard ahead," Palutena explained. "You know the drill. Keep your eyes peeled for enemy attacks." Not long after defeating the enemies, Pit unlocked entered a Level 4 Intensity Gate. "That way goes back to where you started," Palutena told him. Pit then found a treasure chest and opened it. "Sweet, sweet loot!" he said as he took the goods. "Fortune smiles upon you," said Palutena. Pit then turned around and took out an enemy from behind before it can run away. "Nice!" he said, "I can really turn a profit taking those guys down." "That was a Souflee," Palutena explained. "It's one sweet enemy. If you spot one, do everything you can to stop it from getting away." (A/N: When I noticed what the Souflee really was, I was actually almost creeped out from its description. Apparently, the cherry is its eyeball and the face on it wasn't actually a face. I'm over the creepiness of that afterwards.) Pit then continued onwards to take down more enemies as Palutena continued to help him out. "Remember, Pit," she started, "you have to use melee attacks to take down Komaytos." He did so and before he could continue, he decided to check what's on the other side of his direction. He spotted a Monoeye and then took it down. After that, he jumped into a hole which turned out to have a Jump Pad to spring him back to where he was. "Whoa-oa!" he cried. "That looks like a Jump Pad in there," explained Palutena. "Get up, fall down. Get up, fall down." Pit began rhyming. "Fight in the air, fight on the ground." "It's the story of your life, isn't it?" asked the goddess. "Peaks and valleys, highs and lows," Pit rhymed another rhyme. "Pick your friends, not your nose." After that little skit, Pit decided to continue onwards, while taking down more enemies who were standing in his way. "There are Jump Pads ahead," said Palutena. "String jumps together to make your way across the rooftops." Pit did what he was told and used the Jump Pads to make it across. "Woop! This is great! Yeah!" he said while using the Jump Pads. He then approached a gate that doesn't seem to be unlocked. "I don't think I can get through this way," he said. There's another way in, but you'll need a key," said Palutena. Pit nodded, picked up the key he collected after defeating more enemies, and took the other way. Along the way, continued to take down more enemies, until... "Watch out!" warned Palutena. As on queue, the blue Hewdraw head charged through the buildings quickly right in front of Pit, who thankfully didn't get hurt. "That came out of nowhere!" he cried in disbelief. "You're going to need help against surprise attacks like that," said Palutena. "Go to the courtyard ahead and I'll grand you a gift." "Really?!" said Pit, surprised. "That'd be great!" Along the way, he found another treasure chest and collected its goods. Just then, another Underworld enemy appeared. "That's an Underworld Merenguy," explained Palutena. (A/N: The music for the Merenguy will change every now and then when they appear. Remember that now.) "Augh!" Pit grunted. "I can't take my eyes off of it!" "It's bewitching dance moves really grab your attention and hold on to it," the goddess explained further. "Better make a point of taking it down first." Pit did so and took down the Merenguy, then proceeded to take down more Underworld troops. After that, he went into the courtyard to receive his gift. "I'm ready for that gift now, Lady Palutena!" he told his goddess. "All right then!" she replied. She then started to spay something all over Pit. "Uh..." Pit questioned. "What just happened?"

Just then, the blue Hewdraw head appeared from the ground right behind Pit and he swiftly turned around to see him. "Roooooar!" the blue head roared. "Aaaagh!" Pit screamed. "Do you like the gift?" asked Palutena. "It's my patented monster pheromone! Monsters just LOVE the smell of it. And now it's all over you!" "What?!" Pit cried. "ARE YOU TRYING TO KILL ME?!" "Why, helloooo, angel!" greeted the blue Hewdraw head as he proceeded to attack Pit. But he was not the only one attacking him. Turns out, more Underworld monsters are with the head as backup. "Luckily, the pheromone only attracted one of the heads," said Palutena. "I was wondering what you would've done if both of them had shown up." "And you still went through with it?!" cried Pit. "I would have been finished for sure!" "Despite my winsomeness and equanimity, I do have a strong streak of rascality," said Palutena. "I don't even know what that means!" exclaimed the angel, who was still fighting the blue Hewdraw head. "I never noticed this before, but you really have a certain je ne sais quoi," the blue head said. "I'm not sure what you mean by that..." Pit replied, confused. "It's French for I'm gonna eat you!" responded the head. It didn't take long until the head was defeated. "Whew." Pit sighed in relief. "That was dicey." "I don't think I'll be using the monster pheromone in the future," said Palutena. "I would hope not!" agreed Pit. "What I mean is that I won't need to use it," corrected Palutena. "Why do you say that?" Pit asked. "I located the other head," the goddess responded. "Let's go to the lake outside of town."

Pit then proceeded onwards and continued to take down a lot more Underworld monsters who were standing in his way. Along the way, Palutena decided to make a good conversation about Pit's weapon. "Bows are a really good fit for you," she stated. "Yeah, I've been using them for a long time," Pit replied. "They're well suited for ranged attacks, and they split into blades for close combat," said Palutena. "They're very well-rounded weapons." "Oh, I know," Pit responded. "I used them in the last brawl." "Brawl?!" exclaimed the goddess. "How horrible! Were you hurt?" "No way, it was a smash!" Pit answered. "I just can't imagine you in a melee," said Palutena. "That's because I wasn't," Pit scoffed, ending the conversation. (A/N: For those of you that don't know your Nintendo knowledge, that's a Smash Bros. reference. They were talking about SSBM and SSBB) Pit then used a Jump Pad to hop into a sewer. "What is this?" he asked. "A well?" "That's not important," answered Palutena. "Just keep moving forward." Pit did as he was told and proceeded. Just then, Palutena noticed new enemies in front of him. "Watch out," she warned. "Those Shulms give off a toxic cloud when they expire. "Shoot them from a distance or melee them to avoid getting poisoned." Pit managed to melee them to avoid getting poisoned and then proceeded onwards, while also taking down more Underworld enemies. "The other Hewdraw head is regenerating its body at the lake," said Palutena. "You don't think it'll have three heads again, do you?!" Pit worriedly asked. "I should hope not," the goddess responded. "Their bickering was intolerable." Soon enough, Pit proceeded onwards and hops on a Jump Pad to land on a small rooftop, until... "It's an ambush!" said Palutena. "Yeah, that's right!" shouted Pit. "MY ambush! You're going down, monsters!" During the fight, Pit decided to bring up something. "Wouldn't it be nice to be a goldfish?" he started. "Why do you say that?" asked Palutena. "It would be so easy," Pit responded. "I don't know..." said Palutena, unconcerned. "My goldfish never lasted very long." After the ambush, Pit proceeded onwards to find the Hewdraw. "I think we're finally close to the last Hewdraw head," said Palutena. "Are you ready?" Pit took another Drink of the Gods and entered thorough the doors and into the lake.

The violet Hewdraw reborn was waiting for Pit. He came out of the lake and roared. "So you've finished off the others, eh?" he asked. "You know it!" Pit responded. "Then you've saved the best for last," said the violet Hewdraw. "Let's get down to business!" He roared again to start the fight. "Forward-dash attacks are very powerful," Palutena explained. "Look for openings to use them. But don't do a forward-dash attack when a fireball is headed at you." Just then, the Hewdraw made a defensive move by going underwater. "It went underwater?!" Pit exclaimed. "Here's an idea," said Palutena. "Shoot the orange balls of light to make them drop down. We'll try to lure the Hewdraw out that way." "Will do!" Pit affirmed and he began to shoot at the orange orbs and managed to use them to push the Hewdraw out of the water. "Now, Pit! Now!" shouted Palutena. "Time to lay the smack down!" said Pit as he began to melee the heck out of the Hewdraw with no hesitation. But it didn't take long until the Hewdraw went back into the lake. He then went underwater and tried to take down Pit with lasers. "Those lasers sure are hard to avoid!" exclaimed the surprised Pit. "Here's an idea: wait 'til the last moment possible, then dodge to the side," Palutena explained. "Dash when an enemy attacks to perform a dodge." Pit did so and managed to use the orange orbs to send the Hewdraw out of the water. Then, he began to melee him like crazy. The fight continued on until Pit delivered the Hewdraw a finishing blow to end it. "Mission complete!" he yelled triumphantly. "That's another one of Medusa's commanders out of the way!" said Palutena. The violet Hewdraw emerged from the water and began to glow and shake. "Look how far you've come, Pit," he told the angel. "I'm proud of you." He then fell into the water and exploded, causing the water to shoot up into the sky and rain back down. "Huh," Pit said, surprised. "You don't usually meet such nice bosses." "Let's get you back," said Palutena as she whisked Pit back in a light pillar while a rainbow appeared behind him.

Meanwhile, the trapped figure continued to wait. Just then, he decided to bring up something. "You know, I actually disliked the Hewdraw," he began. "And why is that?" asked Pandora. "They're just bickering here and there like a bunch of idiots," the figure responded. "However, I do actually like the Violet one." "Mind elaborating the reason then?" Pandora questioned. "Absolutely," the figure replied. "I think he's more kind than the rest of you Underworld folk and is often disappointed to see his brothers argue. I believe that he doesn't like to work with you that much." "Hmph! That's rich coming from you," Pandora scoffed. "But anyways, they're only two steps away from reaching you. And not only that, we have the reapers to keep them intact. I highly doubt Pit will stand a chance against them." But the figure's only response was a sinister smug as he continued to wait.

Wow. Getting closer to see the figure's appearance later on. By the way, there's going to be a lot of references and probably video game secrets as well. Stay tuned for chapter four, review, and have a great day!
