Tyson wrapped up the project he'd been slaving over for the past few days, "Computer. Activate Project Homestead."

All the surfaces shimmered as his quarters transformed into a fully functional holodeck. He took his old furniture, recorded it with the holoemitters, and with a quick trip to the replimat, he had all of his belongings recycled, earning back their full credit value. Thanks to the microfusion reactors powering his salvaged equipment, Tyson could now replicate all the food and clothes he could ever want without it costing him a single credit. Heading back from the mall, a quick stop for a backup uniform and a bottle of the finest Saurian brandy, and with a tidy sum of energy credits left over, he settled back with a smug grin on his face. The cherry on top? He now had a replicator unit that could run on its own power source, all thanks to his daily engineering quests.

Energy Credits: 24,085 - 33,585

A flood of notifications appeared in his field of view. He braced himself for the worst, but to his relief, he wasn't suddenly yanked into a virtual nightmare. Instead, he had unlocked a new instance after completing the zombie dungeon - the ghost dungeon. He had no idea since he had failed to check his progress after leaving the holodeck. The upgrades made to his quarters had unlocked not only an empty version of the instance but also a home version, which he promptly set as his default. The rooms looked exactly as they did before he recycled his furniture. The empty instance was an option for Tyson to create holodeck programs or run programs downloaded from the Enterprise's computer.

Tyson bustled about his holographic kitchen, ideas swirling around the feast for his big date. He rummaged through his Inventory, coming across a glass of milk he'd stored away and forgotten days prior. To his surprise, it was still cold, just as he'd left it.

Shaking his head at his own oversight, Tyson quickly replicated a stopwatch and began a time-keeping experiment. He placed the timer within his Inventory, his skeptical mind wanting to confirm his suspicion. A minute later, as he eagerly checked the stopwatch, relieved to find that his hypothesis was indeed true; time didn't pass inside.

Tyson's latest shopping excursion had led to the acquisition of a bottle of Saurian brandy, a prized spirit among Starfleet's finest. He poured a generous serving of the amber liquid into a replicated pitcher, ready to create a one-of-a-kind drink.

Next, he added a touch of Uttaberry, a fruit native to the planet of Betazed, which added a burst of blueberry-like flavor to the mix. Not content to stop there, he added a generous helping of red wine, as well as orange slices and freshly squeezed orange juice. The blend was already sweet to the taste, so he didn't need to add any additional sugar. He let the ingredients steep for a half hour, then topped it off with a splash of sparkling carbonated water.

Tyson took a sip of his creation, savoring the complex flavors and aromas that filled his mouth. The Betazed twist on a classic sangria was the perfect drink to enjoy on a warm summer's afternoon or to impress a date.

Tyson prepped the main course - sandwiches packed with breaded chicken breast, ripe tomatoes, lightly shredded lettuce, and silky mozzarella cheese, all topped with a drizzle of balsamic vinegar that soaked into the bread. But, he was determined to set things off with a bang. That's where the sweet potato fries came in, crispy and golden and served with a fiery chili mayo dipping sauce. Sure, it was an unconventional pairing with the sandwiches, but Tyson was banking on the richness of the main course being offset by the spiciness of the side dish.

Tyson couldn't help but feel a rush of satisfaction as he savored the gooey, warm chocolate melting in his mouth. It was the result of hours of experimentation and many failed attempts, but the hard work paid off. The large chocolate chip cookies he'd finally succeeded in baking were a masterpiece. As he took another bite, he couldn't help but think that Deanna was in for a real treat.

The inventory system wasn't just a blessing, it was a godsend. Tyson could make and store his food exactly as he wanted it, and keep it at the perfect temperature for consumption.

In his mind, Tyson was already building up a stockpile of food for future use. The potential abuse of power he held was obvious. He was carrying around a starship in his pocket, and nobody was any the wiser.

Using his PADD, Tyson interfaced the holoemitters in his quarters with the Enterprise's computer, allowing him to copy holodeck programs without physically visiting the holodeck. He had yet to go against Captain Picard's orders to stay away from the holodeck, but he was elated to have the in-room option available to him.

By early evening, Tyson was ready for his date. With no other obligations on his plate, he decided to activate the zombie ID.

The shuttlepod manifested around him, this time with no message from Captain Archer. Some experimentation revealed Tyson could leave the ID and recreate it at will. Regardless of his actions, he received no quest notifications. Climbing the ladder into the Seleya, he armed himself with his mace and shield and set out to find a zombie Vulcan.

Two minutes later, Tyson was standing over two unconscious, bleeding Vulcans. He dipped his pinky into their blood and brought it to his tongue, savoring the taste of victory. Coppery. The taste of victory was coppery.

Previously, Tyson had hesitated when faced with the thought of which Vulcan trait he should acquire when he kissed T'Pol. With unlimited access to Vulcans via the instant dungeon, he could easily pick up all the traits. Despite the Captain's orders, Tyson accessed the dungeon, bypassing the spirit but not the letter of Picard's commands. Or so he thought.

Storing his weapons, Tyson retrieved the phase pistol he had looted on his first trip through the ID. Energy Weapons was the only skill he still needed to level up that wasn't already maxed against the zombies.

He roamed the ship, phasering Vulcans until his pistol misfired, rupturing an exposed EPS conduit and giving him a significant plasma burn.

But Tyson was prepared, he had the dermal-regenerator he had taken from Doctor Crusher during his tour of the ship. A quick application restored his hitpoints, and he resumed his path to the bridge.

As he maxed his Energy Weapons skill, Tyson tested himself against the zombies unarmed. With his enhanced strength, he found that he could do similar damage with punches and kicks as he could with the phase pistol.

His mastery of the Vulcan neuro-pressure advanced to the point where he could execute the Vulcan Nerve Pinch. This hybrid skill check allowed Tyson's Medicine skill to carry over and increase his mastery of Martial Arts.

Defeating the Vulcan Captain awarded the gamer a weapon. The spoils of his victory materialized before him. Shimmering silver and copper, a Vulcan phaser unlike any he'd seen before in Star Trek, appeared in his grasp. He gazed upon the short barrel, enamored with the weapon. It caused double the damage of the ordinary phaser he'd received from Worf.

Tyson immediately left the instant dungeon and stepped back in. He was determined to claim another of the weapons, a match to the one he'd just earned to complete a pair.

He eagerly ran through the dungeon once more, facing off against the formidable Vulcan Captain once again. Though it was a tedious task, none of the other Vulcans were strong enough to fuel his skill growth. The Captain was the only creature left in the instant dungeon that could further challenge and improve Tyson's skills.

He had to complete the instant dungeon two more times to get the matching energy weapon. The first time he received a Lirpa from the Vulcan Captain. Lirpa are Vulcan melee weapons comprised of a long staff with a metal ball at one end and a fanlike blade at the other. The improved combat ability granted by Master with Your Hands wouldn't work for the two-handed weapon, making it useless for Tyson. He ended up selling it to Korek, the Klingon merchant in the mall for two-hundred fifty energy credits.

Social Check (DC: 10) = 26 Major Success!

Social Skill Increased! 6-7

Bartering to raise his Social skill was obvious in hindsight; Tyson kicked himself for not considering it earlier. Charisma always affects item prices in games.

Tyson quickly found the limits to these skill challenges. The difficulty check was determined by the value of the item and the price adjustment. He also found that he could only get one skill up from each merchant unless he bought an item and sold it at a 50% loss, minimum. It was costing him two hundred credits for every skill-up attempt. His surplus of credits allowed him to move through the mall picking up items and reselling them for a time. When he reached level ten it was costing him three hundred credits per skill-up attempt, and five hundred credits at level 15. With major successes, he was able to negotiate his losses to around half. Once he hit level 20 it was costing a thousand credits per attempt. He stuck with it until he hit level 25.

Tons of levels for the low price of eight thousand credits. He considered it a worthwhile investment.

You have slept in a bed. All Hit Points recovered and negative status effects were removed.

Tyson went straight into his daily Engineering quests first thing in the morning with the intention of upgrading the biobed he took from the instant dungeon. From the first quest, he gained a microfusion reactor, the staple of independent power generation. He rounded out the dailies with a hypospray microreplication unit, an antigravity lift, a medical tricorder, and a forcefield generator from the forward section of deck four.

Tyson had worked tirelessly in Engineering, piecing together spare parts and scavenging the ship's storage bays until he had created a biobed like no other. It was larger than any in the Enterprise-D's sickbays and capable of holding even the largest of men, with a forcefield generator that could keep the patient contained or prevent the spread of illness. With scanning capabilities on par with a standard medical tricorder, and antigravity repulsors for easy mobility, Tyson was almost ready to call it a day. Almost, but not quite. He still had a few modifications in mind, dermal and osteo-regenerators to take the biobed to the next level. But that would have to wait, he thought, as he tucked the biobed away in his Inventory.

Tyson skipped most of the normal pre-date rituals in favor of activating Your Hands Clean. He forsook his typical off-duty jeans and tee shirt combo. This time he wore navy blue shorts and a light-blue button-up patterned with symmetrically spaced navy dots.

Besides the new outfit, his appearance had changed drastically over the past two days between the anti-aging effect of Vulcan Metabolism and the drastic increase in his Strength attribute. His apparent age lowered from mid-thirties to early-twenties. His height increased several inches as well, now standing at 6'3" with the muscle of a professional athlete somewhere between swimmer and football receiver. He left the top three buttons of his shirt undone to show off his new chest definition. Physically, Tyson was now a match for Worf. It might be time for a rematch.

Making his way down the corridor, Tyson reached Deanna's door in no time. No need for a turbolift ride, as her quarters were on the same deck as his. He received a system notification as he stood outside her door waiting to be allowed entrance.

Quest Alert!

Date Night… err Lunch Date

Objective: Go on a Date with Deanna Troi

Rewards:

Variable based on Outcome

Accept Y/N?

Tyson mentally accepted and the doors opened signaling the start of the quest. She called out to him, "Come on in Tyson. Have a seat, I'll be ready in a moment."

Tyson was struck speechless as he took in the sight of Counselor Troi. He hadn't seen her since gaining the "Hello Nurse!" perk, and he was taken aback by the changes in her appearance. She stood before him, dressed in a long, white, sleeveless dress decorated with light blue floral patterns that reached down to her ankles. The dress was tight enough to accent her curves, yet loose enough to allow her movements to be unrestricted.

With her hair pulled into a tight updo, but with wide, curly waves cascading down her back to her shoulder blades, Troi's face had only undergone a slight change, with a thinning of her jawline. Her wide, slightly upturned nose and black eyes, characteristic of Betazoids, remained unchanged, but her body had undergone a noticeable transformation. Her previously B-cup bust was now noticeably larger, while her wide hips remained, but were now topped by a trimmed waist, creating a more pronounced hourglass figure. Her skin had shifted to a more olive complexion, reminiscent of Mediterranean descent.

The changes Troi had undergone were on par with what Tyson had seen in T'Pol, although not as drastic as those he had noticed in Doctor Crusher. He found himself struck by her beauty and couldn't help but be enamored by her new, more voluptuous form. Troi stood in the doorway, gracefully arched an eyebrow, and asked, "What do you think?"

"You look great," he replied. "And we match. That outfit is just right for what I have planned as well."

"I've been wondering what you have in store for us since we visited the mall. What options do you have with your holodeck usage restricted?"

Tyson rubbed the back of his head sheepishly. Troi didn't need to be an empath to pick up on the guild Tyson radiated.

"Is there anything you want to tell me Tyson?" she asked.

"Eh. You'll see soon enough."

He held out his hand, and led Troi to his quarters. When they entered, there was a large red curtain surrounding the doorway with enough space for them to both walk in and stand inside. After the door shut behind them, Tyson parted the curtain allowing Troi to see what lay beyond.

Troi recognized Lake Cataria on Betazed. Inside Tyson's quarters. "How?"

"You'd be amazed what you can find just lying around a starship of this size."

"You built a holodeck in your quarters using spare parts?"

"It was a bit more complicated than that, but yea."

"You know the Captain will not be pleased when he finds out about this." Troi chided.

Tyson held up his hand with his pointer and middle finger extended. "I promise no living being within this reality was hurt in the making of this room. Scouts honor." Lowering his hand he continued, "Besides I think my holodeck restriction will be lifted soon. I've gotten it under control. But don't worry about that now, I made us a nice picnic."

They followed a paved path that wound around the border of the lake. The greenery surrounding them varied from pointed shrubs to low-lying bushes and mosses. Small palms and ferns were dotted throughout. Off to the path further from the lake, an area was cleared to a nice trimly grassy area. In the center of the clearing was a blanket with a single basket.

Tyson led Troi to the picnic area.

"I know you like my cooking, so I prepared drinks, a meal, and dessert."

Troi sat with her legs out to the side as Tyson bent down and reached into the basket retrieving two trays with foldable legs. He set up, pulling out two glasses and the pitcher of Beta-sangria he'd prepared the previous day.

"How did you do that?" Troi asked.

"Not sure what you mean," Tyson said with a smile.

The picnic basket was not large enough to hold the trays and the glasses, let alone the tall drink pitcher. Tyson was having a little fun using his inventory to create the illusion of a 'bag of holding'.

Tyson poured them each some sangria and sat down across from her with his knees bent. Deanna took in the scenery and absently grabbed her cup and took a sip. Her head whipped to him and she exclaimed," Is this Uttaberry?"

"Yup."

"And real alcohol?"

"Yea."

On her second sip, he could see her shoulders relax a bit and a warm glow emanate from her skin. He listened to her tell stories about the time she visited this place in real life and about her childhood on Betazed.

When she took the first bite of his meal, her clothes were temporarily blasted off by the contrasting flavors between the sandwich and the side. She was fully clothed when her senses returned from the realm of tantalizing tastes that Tyson had sent her to. That damn censoring glow that surrounded T'Pol returned, blocking Tyson from viewing all the changes made by the Hello Nurse! perk.

Calling this area Lake Cataria was a bit of a misnomer. It wasn't a single lake, but a series of ponds and small lakes. The pair took the opportunity to walk while holding hands along the many paths, to allow their food to settle. The program had created a few people scattered about to make the area feel more lively, but nowhere near crowded or unwelcoming. Half an hour later, they found themselves back at the picnic basket

Tyson removed the plates of still-warm cookies. Troi was unprepared for the cookies even after experiencing the drinks and food. The sangria was imbued with relaxation. The food conveyed fun, with spiciness and excitement to balance the alcohol. Every little chocolate chip was a pang of desire.

It wasn't long before Troi, who had been again sitting side-lying, shifted to be on her hands and knees. Her positioning gave Tyson a nice view of her bountiful cleavage. She crawled the short distance to reach him and planted her lips on his.

Racial Trait Added: Half-Betazoid Senses

Empathy (Strong): Your telepathic sense of feelings has a significantly increased radius.

Tyson was assaulted by the lust radiating from Deanna. Gaining her empathy overwhelmed his senses, blocking anything else from registering to him. Their kiss became ravenous, only stopping long enough for her dress to be raised above her head. In Cetacean Ops Tyson appreciated her undergarments as she stripped her uniform. This time he was so entangled with her that he didn't notice when they were lost.

They took each other, there on the blanket, in the clearing. The holodeck program intuitively rerouted the generated characters to not interrupt their tryst. After reaching their climax, Tyson offered Deanna a post-coitus cookie, starting the cycle again and leading to another round of bliss.

The second round of love-making was the greatest feat of intimacy Tyson had performed in either of his lives. He started tender and gentle, becoming rougher and more vigorous as they went on. Responding and reacting to the sounds and looks on Deanna's face. But it went deeper than that. With Tyson's mental abilities and Deanna's empathy, they created a feedback loop that continuously brought each other to new heights of pleasure. It culminated with Tyson spent, and Troi left unconscious, her brain overloaded by the sensations.

Reward: Choose one perk from the Adult section.

+1 Social skill

+1 Perform skill

The optional perks from the Adult section were different than those after being with T'Pol. Tyson reasoned that it was due to the differing circumstances. There were more telepathic-type options, as well as options for increased stamina and food. The sections for teaching, Elves/Vulcans, and massage were gone. Two perks seemed to stem from the fight Tyson and Troi had during the 'tutorial'.

Spoils of Battle:

A common thing between villains is a philosophy of 'might makes right'. Those that are strong may use the weak as their plaything. This Perk can be seen as a... friendlier version of that idea.
When you defeat someone in a fight, they will be inclined to follow your commands. They see you as their superior and respect your victory. The respect is to such a point that they would be rather submissive to you. This isn't love, not even loyalty, but more of a feeling of genuine respect but it's a good basis for seduction. This also doesn't change their personalities in any way, and neither will it redeem them.

Lusty Take Down:

You gain the ability to channel lewd energy into your weapons, including things like claws and vehicle-mounted weapons, as well as into your powers or spells. Your weapons and abilities will have their lethal damage converted into lust and stamina damage so if you were to stab someone the blade would pass into them without making a wound or if you were to make an attack that would have normally taken off a limb they, temporarily, won't be able to use it. It also has a magical acid-like effect on clothing, armor, and weapons making it much easier to disarm someone and crack open their defenses. You can also grant this perk to any teammates of your choosing.

Tyson stayed true to his original plan. There were so many good options, but telepathic races were rare. He didn't know if he'd be intimate with any others before coming in contact with the Borg, and he needed a weapon that would be effective against them. The gamer selected a perk previously offered after being with T'Pol.

Perk Selected: Direct Control Disruption

Direct Control Disruption:

A special quality you can add to your attacks that will make any physical, magical, or other types of damage only applies to the influence of mind control inflicted on a person. It also doesn't matter if the source of this influence is via technology, magic, psionics/psychic, alchemy, drugs, or exotic powers. This damages the influence until it is fully broken, or the person can take back their mind.

He walked over to Deanna and lifted her gently. A task made easier by her slight weight and his increased Strength attribute. Her stirring and breathing pattern signaled she was awake, but nuzzled comfortably into his chest.

"Computer. End program. Restore home instance default settings. Please."

The natural setting around them dispersed leaving Tyson's quarters in its normal state. He carried her into the bathroom. "You can do whatever you need to, I'll get the shower ready and replicate you a fresh uniform. Don't fall asleep. You have to be on duty in less than an hour."

Tyson left her to clean up and adjusted his room's settings. Not needing the bedroom currently, he replaced the room with a large shower area. The kind you see in mansions that rival normal bedrooms. Water sprayed from multiple showerheads while beautiful stone tiling ringed a rain shower, a tub, and a sauna. Since holoemitters have replicator units built into them, he could ask the computer to make simple objects anywhere in his room. The clothing and plush towels were spun-up on the counter. Tyson started the showers and got them up to a nice hot temperature. The room was starting to fill with steam when Deanna entered.

She moved under the rain shower and the downpour immediately soaked and lengthened her hair. She stood a moment leaning her head back and enjoying the sensation. There was something to be said about an actual shower, sonic showers didn't have the same sense of primal satisfaction. Tyson approached as she began to lather herself. He applied some shampoo to her hair, working his fingers through her locks and massaging her scalp. She relaxed against the wall enjoying his treatment.

Tyson shut off the water after she rinsed the shampoo from her hair. She looked glorious standing in his shower nude. Unfortunately, he had neither the time to continue appreciating her glorious nude form, nor the Constitution to go another round.

Counselor Troi reported to the bridge just in time for the start of the second shift accompanied by Tyson. The Gamer approached the captain.

"Recruit. Good to see you on the bridge. Report."

"T'Pol is settling in well. She hasn't demonstrated any adverse reactions or lingering symptoms from her experience. I'm happy to report, I believe I have my holodeck issues under control and am ready to present the ship in my possession."

"Excellent. Pass on my regards to T'Pol if you would. Lieutenant Yar, you have the bridge. Number one, Commander Data, please accompany us to the shuttlebay."

The shuttlebay looked much as it had when he briefly visited during his tour. They gathered in the middle of the bay, facing the fully open doors. An invisible forcefield was all that separated them from the endless vacuum.

"Can you manifest the ship inside the shuttlebay or in space from here?"

Tyson attempted to do just that. He could summon a scaled version of the D'Kyr class cruiser inside the shuttlebay. It was a special property of the room. Alternatively, he could summon it outside the ship and be automatically moved inside when it was summoned.

Main Shuttlebay

Inside shuttlebays, any ship in your inventory may be placed. The ship will automatically be scaled to match the size of the shuttlebay. Any materials used on the exterior of the ship will require a volume appropriate to the ship's full size. The inside of the ship is accessible and the internal volume is not scaled down.

Tyson shared the information with the senior officers and was instructed by Picard to proceed. He conveyed his intent to the Inventory and the Vulcan cruiser appeared in the shuttlebay. It was smaller than he expected. The Cruiser was longer than wide, so had to be scaled down significantly to fit appropriately inside the shuttlebay.

He approached the ship admiring its rust-colored outer coating, when he placed his hand on the hull, he received a prompt asking if he wanted to enter. He held off, waiting for the captain's orders.

Picard approached and placed his hand on the hull as well, "I haven't seen one of these outside a museum."

Data also placed his hand on the hull. "Duranium hull. It is undamaged. You said the ship was found in an asteroid field with the deflector shields down."

"Quite right, Commander." Tyson replied, "This appears to be a different ship entirely. The shuttle is still present and all the decks appear intact, a stark difference from the ship I piloted during my experience."

"Shall we enter?"

Tyson invited the three men to his party and entered the ship. The inside was a stark difference from his experience in the instanced dungeon. The ship's lighting and interior were all intact, pristine even. Tyson could almost detect that 'new car smell' this ship seemed freshly constructed, newer even than the Enterprise. They toured the ship visiting the medbay, auxiliary control room, and finally the Main Bridge.

"Commander Data. Is it my imagination, or have we traveled further than should have been possible given the exterior dimensions of this ship?"

Data's head tilted in calculation. "You are correct Captain. This should not be possible."

"I try not to think about my abilities too much."

The ship was equipped with photonic torpedoes and particle beam weapons. Unlike the Enterprise of that era, the D'Kyr also had deflector shields. There was also an empty device slot for a tractor beam or similar technology. The ship was obsolete. But, it was his.

Once they left the ship and Tyson experimented with storing and resummoning it in space. It floated in they void beyond the Enterprise. Focusing on the ship gave Tyson the option to enter it remotely.

"Very good. Now about this holodeck business. I'd like a full report. Consider this your first away mission, Recruit. Number one, assemble a team, take Data and Tyson into this so-called dungeon."

This concludes episode 1. Sorry for the late post, the 3x a week editing schedule was hard to maintain. If you're still sticking with the story, you have my thanks and I hope you're enjoying it thus far! If you're not into the shipping/lemons, that aspect of the story takes a backseat after episode 2, so please stick around!

Question for reviewers: Thoughts on JJ's Star Trek?
I like to think that it created a new generation of Trekkies, just like I hope the Paramount shows are pulling more people in. I'm split on if it's worthwhile to even consider sending Tyson into one of those movies. The Enterprise's speed there throws off the warp scale and beaming from Earth to Qonos... nah. But a showdown with Khan? Yes Please. Is Tyson a match? At this point, I think he'd get stomped.
