Chapter 11: Viridi, Goddess of Nature + DLC: Spiritual Possession

No music playing yet

Pit rushed to the door with the Stealth Claws equipped for the mission. "Officer Pit reporting for duty!" he said as he leaped through the door and flew into the sky. Suddenly, he dived down to a battlefield where he saw humans fighting over one another. "The humans have fallen for Hades' hoax," said Palutena, sadly. "They're killing themselves over that fantasy." "It looks like entire nations are fighting each other," Pit exclaimed in fear. "The Underworld Army is here to gather souls," Palutena explained. "Clearly, they expect many casualties. We can't stop a war this big right now. Focus on the Underworld Army." "Roger!" Pit affirmed and he proceeded to take down the Underworld enemies. During all of this, Devil Pit was already in the arena, killed lots of humans there, and collected their souls. "This is so much fun. Hahahahaha!" he laughed. "I haven't had this much fun ever since my last bloodlust killing spree. I've been waiting to devour souls and obtain my long lost power. Then, all the mortals shall have their rotten corpses devoured whole." Back to Pit, who was still taking down more Underworld enemies and witnessing the bloodlust battlefield. "So things are going exactly as Hades planned," he said. But why do I get a feeling that someone else might also be behind this? he added in thought. "He spread the rumor about the Wish Seed," said Palutena. "And the humans were gullible enough to believe it." She then guided Pit through the battlefield to take down more enemies. "If only we'd had a chance to tell them the Wish Seed was a fake," Pit continued, sadly. "Now look at them. It's like they've lost their humanity, and all they have left is...brutality!" He then continued to take down more and more Underworld enemies. Suddenly, Palutena noticed a bright light shining in the sky, and something big was coming down. She gasped. "What's wrong?!" Pit asked, worried. "I have to pull you back NOW!" Palutena replied as she quickly increased the Power of Flight's power to get Pit out of there. "Huh?" Pit wondered before he turned around. "WHOA!" Devil Pit noticed the light, too. "Shit!" he exclaimed. "She's here! Damn it! Right when I was still enjoying my fun. I better get out of here." He quickly flew away before the bright ball of light came down. Then Devil Pit realized something. He said, "Wait! Is that?!" But before he could comprehend what it was, the giant ball of light eliminated all of the humans with one giant explosion. The angel and Devil flew away from the explosion as fast as they could before it could catch them, too. Devil Pit tumbled through the road of a town far away after barely avoiding the giant explosion and crashed right into an abandoned building. "Ouch..." he groaned. He slowly got back up and looked at the aftermath. "I can't believe it!" he exclaimed. "She's actually here! I thought my first victim was bad enough, but with her still alive is much worse! You better prepare yourself, arch-nemesis, because I'm coming over there to kill you!" Suddenly, he blinked his eyes and they turned black as blood poured from his sockets. "You'll be seeing HER very soon!" he concluded and then flew straight to where he needed to be at.

Music playing: Viridi, Goddess of Nature

Back to Pit, who just managed to get away from the explosion in time before it could catch him. "W-what was that?" he wondered, trying to comprehend what he just witnessed. Just then, he heard another voice, who was proud of her cause of destruction. "Ha ha ha ha ha ha!" she laughed. "Nice shot, if I do say so myself!" Soon, the shadowed figured projection revealed herself. Viridi, the Goddess of Nature. "Good riddance, human scum!" she continued. "The world's better off without you!" Her projection soon disappeared. "That was the Goddess of Nature, Viridi," Palutena explained. "Pit! Go check things out!" "I'm on it!" the angel complied and proceeded to take down new enemies sent by Viridi. The two goddess then started to communicate with each other. "So you're the famous Palutena," said Viridi. "I hear you've been busy." "And you're Viridi, ruler of the Earth and all living things," Palutena responded. Although it's strange that you don't remember me that much, she added in thought. "Hmph!" Viridi scoffed. "I didn't know I had a fan club." "WHY HAVE YOU DONE THIS?!" Pit shouted, demanding for answers. "Humans are driven by selfish desire," Viridi explained. "They think only of themselves. They were killing each other for what? A wish?! A FAKE wish?! They've strayed too far from their intended path. That's where my Reset Bombs come in—to help return Earth to its natural state!" "But aren't humans living beings too?" asked Palutena. "Yet you think nothing of exterminating them." "Ha ha!" Viridi laughed. "That's rich coming from you! You don't seem to have much of a problem slaughtering Underworld forces." "But that's totally different!" Pit countered. "We're defending the earth and heavens from those who seek their destruction," Palutena joined in as she guided Pit into the twisted forest. Throughout all this, Devil Pit has been laying low from the others and saw what he witnessed. "This forest..." he said. "There's something familiar about it and it's giving me bad memories." He then shook his fists. "And by 'bad memories,' I MEAN INNER RAGE!" he roared as fire burst from the ground. "YOU BETTER PREPARE YOURSELF, VIRIDI, BECAUSE ONCE I'M DONE DEALING WITH THESE FOOLS, I'LL BE RIGHT OVER THERE TO SNAP YOUR FUCKING NECK!" He then continued onwards to follow Pit on the quiet into the forest. Back to Pit, who was still taking down new enemies and Palutena guided him closer into the twisted Reset Bomb Forest. "Let's take a closer look, Pit," she said. Pit then entered the forest and is intrigued to what he witnessed from within it. "This is a pretty twisted version of Nature," he said. "HUMANS massacre Earth's creatures, decimate the trees, and exploit the land," Viridi argued. "THEY'RE the twisted ones. They're enemies of life itself! Tell me, Palutena, why do they deserve special treatment?!" "Because, of all creatures, humans are closest to the gods," Palutena answered. "Gods cannot intervene in mankind's affairs as you have. You have no right." But this made Viridi even more furious. "No right?!" she yelled "Humans are trampling over the rights of every other living thing! Should I just sit back and watch as they continue to destroy the Earth? No, I must exterminate them all before it's too late! Not only that, the humans must also pay for burning an entire forest to the ground!" "Wait what?!" both Pit and Palutena exclaimed, simultaneously. "I will avenge all of Nature the humans ruthlessly massacred!" Viridi continued. "And I cannot allow you to interfere with my plans!" "There's just no reasoning with her," said Palutena, sadly. That and she is also just like her many years ago during that war... she added in thought. Could it mean that it's happening again? If so, then who would've caused this? Also why would Viridi think that the humans burned the forest to the ground? I thought it was the Underworld... "I have to admit, she has a valid point," said Pit, interrupting Palutena's thoughts after receiving four more Recovery Orbs. "But wiping out humanity is NOT the answer." "I agree completely," Palutena agreed. "You've given us no choice but to oppose you, Viridi." "Oh! That's brave of you, but the Forces of Nature... We're not what you're used to," Viridi laughed. Devil Pit, meanwhile, still heard the conversation and was filled with anger when he heard Viridi's voice. "That little rascal!" he yelled. "She used that same murder weapon that killed the two people I knew and loved for a long time! I will kill her when I see her again!" Back to Pit, who still managed to take down the Forces of Nature's troops. "I'm surprised you've survived this long, Pit," said Viridi. "I'll take that as a compliment!" replied Pit. "I think it's time you meet one of my finest warriors," Viridi announced and then called out someone. "Come on out, Cragalanche!" Suddenly, a yellow spear came out right in front of Pit and hit him, causing him to lose balance and tumble down. "Whooooooooooa!" he yelled as he was falling down. "Pit!" Palutena cried. Devil Pit saw the whole commotion happened and was surprised. "So, he appeared before me once again," he said. "Let's see if Pit can take down my very first enemy I fought many years ago." He jumped to where Pit fell down in order to follow him on the quiet.

Music stops and switches to: Reset Bomb Forest

Pit slowly woke up after that big crash he landed in the Reset Bomb Forest. "Ugggghh..." he groaned. "Are you OK, Pit?" asked Palutena. Pit nodded "yes" in affirmation and then ate the food. "Now, Pit, you are the captain of Palutena's guard, yes?" Viridi asked and Pit nodded "yes" again. "I look forward to seeing how you fare against Cragalanche," Viridi continued. "You should be more worried about how HE fares against ME!" Pit boasted. "Careful, Pit," Palutena warned. "I need you in good shape. Besides you, all I've got are the centurions. You know, maybe I should open a boot camp to toughen them up." "Still wouldn't give them muscles like these!" said Pit. Along the way, while he was defeating more Forces of Nature troops, he came across some humans who were still alive. "Good!" he exclaimed in relief. "There are survivors!" "They're a stubborn bunch, hanging on like that," said Palutena. "Set as many free as you can." "Uh...stubborn?" Pit asked, confused. "Oh, I didn't mean it like that," Palutena replied. "Maybe what you meant to say was 'insignificant,'" said Viridi. When Pit rescued a human, they will give him an item as a reward. That human gave Pit a Grenade to help in his aid. But unfortunately for him, he couldn't seem to find a way out of the forest. Devil Pit was still following our beloved hero and still has a bloodlust rage within him. Once he saw the escaped human, he took out his rage by slicing, dicing, and ripping the human apart into pieces with his "Special Weapon." After he killed him, he then ate his corpse whole. When he was done eating, he began breathing uncontrollably. "I haven't had a meal like that in forever," he gasped between breaths. "There's got to be some more fresh meat somewhere." He then continued to follow Pit on the quiet and possibly find more escaped humans to devour. Pit continued onwards while taking out more troops from the Forces of Nature. He then rescued another human and that one gave him chocolate as a "thank you." Unfortunately, he couldn't find the way out, just a simple slicing and dicing from Devil Pit's "Special Weapon." "Delicious meat for my belly!" he gasped between breaths and chomped down the corpse. "Now to find more of them." He continued to follow Pit on the quiet. Pit dove deeper into the forest. "I can still make out buildings in this forest," he said. "There must have been a town here," said Palutena. "Reset Bombs won't harm wildlife or natural habitats," Viridi explained. "Their only purpose is the obliteration of humankind." "Oh, is that all?" Pit questioned. "I suppose that accounts for all the life in here," said Palutena. "In a few years, this place will be completely covered in green," Viridi continued. "Flowers will bloom, trees will grow, and the natural food chain will take over. It will be mankind's winter and the beginning of MY spring!" Devil Pit heard Viridi say that and he has grown more furious than ever. "You will NOT do such a thing like that, Viridi!" he scowled. "Not if I have anything to say about it! Once I'm done with that angel first, I'm coming for you next!" Then he blinked to make his eyes turn black and blood poured from his sockets again. "And I will make sure that your death will be SLOW and PAINFUL...!" he growled as he proceeded to follow Pit quietly. Pit still continued on his way will taking down more Forces of Nature troops. Pit then continued onwards and found a Hot Spring puddle. "It looks like there used to be a Hot Spring here," said Palutena. "Wait! There's a little water left!" exclaimed Pit. "Do you soak in every random puddle that crosses your path?" Viridi questioned. Pit wasted no time and entered the Hot Spring puddle to relax for a moment. "What's with you and hot springs?" Viridi asked. "What's with you and not minding your own business?" replied Pit, blushing embarrassingly. Devil Pit heard that and facepalmed at the question and answer. "What kind of shitty question and answer was that?" he grumbled. After that little relaxation, despite it being so short, Pit continued onwards and took down more enemies. He then took a Jump Pad to go up. "Hugh! Ah!" he said as he hopped and landed somewhere in the forest. "Where am I?" he wondered. He then took down more enemies and found another human. He rescued him and the human gave Pit chocolate as a "thank you." But while he was trying to find a way out, he encountered Devil Pit, who showed no mercy and sliced and diced the human with his "Special Weapon." "Fresh...meat..." he gasped and then chomped at the corpse whole. "Ahh... So delicious..." he sighed after finishing his meal. "I need to find more." He then continued to follow Pit on the quiet. Pit still took down more enemies until he reached a path that seemed to be unreachable. "You can't go any farther, so I've set up a Grind Rail," said Palutena. "Thank you kindly!" Pit responded. "It's tangled in there, so I had to wind it around the trees," Palutena continued. "Calling you a snake would be an insult to snakes!" Viridi commented. "But you are crafty. I'll give you that." During the Grind Rail path, Viridi decided to ask Pit a question. "You like to eat, don't you, Pit?" she asked. "I always go back for seconds AND thirds!" Pit responded. "Well, everything you eat comes from Nature," Viridi continued. "So, if Nature nourishes your body, why are you using it to fight my forces?!" "Whoa, whoa, whoa," Pit exclaimed, taken aback on what Viridi just said. "I'm not eating your army, so just take it easy." Devil Pit heard that conversation and laughed. "Hahaha. That's actually pretty funny," he said. "Because I actually ATE mortals after I killed them. They are just the perfect delicacy to my meals. Speaking of which, I wonder if I could find more of them." He continued to follow Pit on the quiet. Pit continued on his way in fighting more Forces of Nature enemies, until he came across a strange one. "Man, look at the face on this guy!" he exclaimed. "That's a Jitterthug," Viridi explained. "Melee attacks won't hurt him at all when he's red. And when he's green, shooting him won't work! What are you going to do NOW?!" "Uh..." Pit thought for a moment before realizing something. "I guess I'll just melee him when he's green and shoot him when he's red!" "But..." Viridi stuttered. "Oh, darn it!" "Thanks for the advice!" Palutena giggled. "When a Jitterthug is green, melee him. When he's red, shoot him!" Devil Pit heard that conversation and found it funny. "What a little idiot. Hmhmhmhm..." he chuckled. "How could you even give away one of your minions' skills like that? I guess you really ARE an idiotic moron." He then continued to follow Pit. Pit soon took out the Jutterthug and rescued another human. He gave Pit some chocolate as a "thank you" and Pit continued onwards by hopping in to a Grind Rail. But, as you can tell, the human ended up the same fate when he tried to escape from Devil Pit's rage. "I WANT MORE HUMAN MEAT!" he roared and ripped the human apart into pieces. He then ate the corpse whole and sighed after finishing his meal. "MUST...FIND...MORE...!" he gasped and continued to follow Pit. Pit, meanwhile, hopped off the Grind Rail and found an Aeither Ring. "An Aether Ring!" he exclaimed. "You're a lucky angel, Pit," said Palutena. "Believe me, I know," Pit responded. "These things drive smoooooth!" "Plus, they provide protection AND firepower," said Palutena. "Is that good design or WHAT!" Pit then took a slope to go down the next level. While he was busy fighting more enemies, he decided to ask Palutena a question. "I've been wondering something," he began. "What's that?" asked Palutena. "Do all gods have their own angels, like you have me?" Pit continued. "No, I don't think that's necessarily the case," said Palutena. Although I do remember one angel who worked with me before you many years ago, she added in thought. I banished him after he disobeyed me and nearly killed me. "I wish I had an angel to do my bidding," said Viridi. "It's like having an intern." "I'm not an intern," Pit responded. "I'm a messenger of the gods!" "Poor Pit," Viridi sighed. "Don't you know that the definition of angel is 'errand spirit?'" "That's a lie," Pit scowled. "Right, Lady Palutena? I'm not your personal assistant." Palutena thought before a moment before she said, "I could use a coffee." "Sure thing," Pit replied "Cream and two sugars, right?" Oh come on! Devil Pit mentally yelled after hearing the conversation and facepalmed. Of course he would be an idiot and fall for that shit. He then continued to follow Pit on the quiet. Pit, meanwhile, continued to go down the slope until he reached the next level. "This place is big," he gasped in amazement. "There's another Aether Ring in the middle of that giant tree," Palutena pointed out. "But why there?" Pit wondered. "Ask Viridi," Palutena responded. "I installed it for my army to use," Viridi explained. "...But no one passed Driver's Ed." "I'm not surprised," Palutena commented. "I can't believe you didn't think of that before," Pit sighed in disbelief. "You were attacking! I was busy! Leave me alone!" Viridi groaned. Devil Pit heard that conversation and facepalmed. "I was right to call you an idiotic moron," he said. "Your minions don't even HAVE hands. Kind of like Pandora when she couldn't use an Exo Tank because she didn't have hands. Makes a sense of déjà vu, eh?" He then continued onwards to follow Pit quietly. Back to Pit, who decided to hop into the other Aeither Ring because of having full health in it and took down more enemies. After that, he used a Jump Pad to move onwards. He then fell into a Hot Spring pool. "What is this?" he exclaimed. "A Hot Spring! A HUGE Hot Spring!" "It's Nature's bathtub," said Palutena. That's because I made the Hot Springs myself, Viridi thought to herself. But why do I have a feeling that there's something odd about this angel? For some reason...there's something unusual and familiar about him. Her cheeks started to blush and her heart began beating at a fast pace. Until she shook her head to snap out of it. NO! I need to focus! she mentally yelled. He's my enemy and I need to avenge all of Nature! Back to Pit, who just used a Jump Pad to hop out of the Hot Spring and into a large area. "There's a maze up ahead," said Palutena. "Try not to get too lost." Pit then found the way to get going into the maze and took down more Forces of Nature enemies. Along the way, Palutena was wondering about something. " Viridi's army is called the Forces of Nature," she began. "Many of her troops are made of natural resources, like wood, dirt, and rocks." "Eco-conscious down to her troops!" said Pit. "Everyone's going green these days." "I'm not GOING green; I've always BEEN green," said Viridi. "I use cloth shopping bags. I compost my food scraps. And I separate my recycling into 15 types!" "Now THIS is a goddess who sweats the details," said Pit, surprised. "I could learn a thing or two from her," said Palutena. Just like her before her death during that war, she added in thought. And HE was the one responsible for it. Devil Pit heard the conversation and was absolutely disgusted by Viridi's tastes. "Bleagh!" he groaned. "You're making me sick! I should've killed you all those years ago after I killed HER." He then continued to follow Pit. Pit later found another human and rescued him. The human gave Pit a Grenade as a "thank you" and Pit used it to take down more enemies. But unfortunately, the human met his demise when he ran into Devil Pit. "TASTY MEAT!" Devil Pit growled as he sliced, diced, and ripped the human into pieces! After that was done, he began chowing down the corpse like there was no tomorrow. "Delicious..." he sighed after finishing his meal. "I feel like I'm satisfied now..." After cleaning up his mess, he continued to follow Pit. Pit, meanwhile, was now getting closer to Cragalanche. "I think you're getting close to Cragalanche!" Palutena pointed out. That is until more enemies appeared. "I'll just take care of these guys first!" Pit exclaimed. He then took down all of the enemies with no problems. "OK, let's go," said Palutena. Pit then used a Jump Pad to get to where he needed to be. After arriving to his destination, he drank another Drink of the Gods and entered the arena to face his foe.

There Pit saw a pile of rocks, which then revealed to have glowing red eyes. Cragalanche then burst the rocks apart and revealed himself. "Cragalanche, huh?" Pit taunted. "What are you, a monster truck?" "Pit, huh?" Viridi countered. "What are YOU? A hole in the ground?" (A/N: Okay. That counterattack was terrible right there, I'll say.) Devil Pit then appeared at the entrance of the arena without the two warriors noticing. "So... It really is him," he said. "Once Pit takes him down, I have a very special trick I want to show to the both of them." The battle began with Pit and Cragalanche attacking each other, although Cragalanche didn't appear do have too much damage taken due to him being a literal pile of rocks. He also didn't seem to be talking that much and was silent the entire battle. "Guy doesn't talk much, does he?" Pit wondered. "He's a rock," Viridi explained. "Last I checked, they're more the strong, silent type. Tell you what—I'll do the talking for him." She then began talked in a silly and deep voice, "Cragalanche crush!" Devil Pit heard her say that and was not amused by facepalming. "What kind of voice impersonation was that?" he said. "That was terrible." Pit and Craglanche continued to fight each other and Pit was impressed by his enemy's moves. "Wow!" he said, surprised. "Nice moves!" "Yes, he's been practicing this routine all week," said Viridi. "I guess it might certainly pay off," said Devil Pit, who the others are still not listening to. "But not for long." Pit continued to fight against Cragalanche, but he didn't seem to be doing that much damange. "Attacking Cragalanche straight on won't do much damage," explained Palutena. "Swing around him to attack him from behind. To do this, keep your eyesight fixed on him, get up close, and dash left or right." "Uhhh..." said Pit. "I'll just check the How to Play movies for details." "Oh for fuck's sake, you little rascal..." groaned Devil Pit, facepalming. "Will you stop breaking the fourth wall?" Suddenly, Pit noticed something on Craglanche's butt. "It looks like there's a weak spot on his butt!" he said. "Arrgh!" Viridi groaned. "Oh, he was supposed to get that fixed!" "Thanks for the tip!" thanked Pit. "I didn't say anything!" Viridi stuttered. "It's butt-kicking time! Literally!" Pit laughed. "Oh, shut up!" Viridi yelled. "You're not clever at all!" Devil Pit heard Pit say that and chuckled. "Hmhmhmhmhm... You haven't changed, have you?" he chuckled. "Although I don't remember fighting Cragalanche when he had a weak point. I guess he had that damaged after our encounter many years ago." Despite being so powerful, Cragalanche was indeed having his butt kicked. (A/N: You already know why I had to say that.) Pit gave his enemy loads of damage until Cragalanche was finally defeated. "In your rock face!" he exclaimed in victory. "That's your idea of a victory taunt? Please." Viridi scoffed. But even after Cragalanche was defeated, he quickly stood back up. "Hah!" Viridi laughed. "Did you really think Cragalanche would go down easily. Now we shall begin a real battle!" "Wow!" Pit exclaimed. "I've never seen an enemy that is ACTUALLY putting up a fight! Unlike the Underworld commanders, that is." The two of them continued to fight.

During the fight, Devil Pit saw the whole thing. "I think it's time to show them my special trick," he said. "I just need a good timing." He then activated his Power of Flight and flew around the arena. Then he saw Cragalanche's weak point. If I can use my powers in there, I'll be able to possess him, he thought. Alright. Here goes nothing! "Activating Spiritual Possession!" Suddenly, a dark and misty fog appeared around the arena and Devil Pit turned into a slithering cloud. "What's going on?!" Pit said after the battle stopped. "I can't see a thing!" "Neither can Cragalanche!" exclaimed Viridi. "What's happening?!" "I don't know," said Palutena. "But this isn't good." Devil Pit found his chance and his dark cloud went into Cragalanche's weak point from his butt. (A/N: I know that sounds wrong, but please don't take that out of context.) After that, the mist was cleared, but Pit noticed something strange going on with Cragalanche. He began twitching and shaking violently. "Um... W-what's going on with Cragalanche?" he stuttered in fear. "It looks like he's shaking!" said Palutena. "How is this possible?!" exclaimed Viridi. Suddenly, Cragalanche stopped shaking, and then everyone heard a voice saying, "Wow! I can't believe that actually worked." It was Devil Pit. "I could really use this power a lot more often and I could get used to this body, despite it being hard as a rock... literally." (A/N: Sorry not sorry hehe.) "You again?!" Pit yelled. "Wait? How can you talk in that body? I thought Cragalanche couldn't speak." "I'm not talking to you directly, idiot," replied Devil Pit. "I'm talking to you through his brain telepathically just like those gods." "What are you doing to my commander?!" Viridi questioned. "That's none of your business," Devil Pit responded. "Now if you'll excuse me, I have an angel to barbeque. It's time for some payback after you humiliated me back at the Phoenix's Mountain. I will devour your body whole, just like what I did to those humans." "WAIT WHAT?!" Pit yelled as soon as Devil Pit/Possessed Cragalanche charged at him to begin the fight.

Music stops and switches to: Reincarnation (Remastered) (A.K.A. Devil Pit's Battle Theme 1)

Devil Pit/Possessed Cragalanche started the battle by punching Pit with a backhand by his right fist. "Argh!" Pit cried in pain as he tumbled through the arena floor. "This body sure does pack quite a literal punch!" chuckled Devil Pit. "HOW CAN YOU MAKE A PUN AT A TIME LIKE THIS!" Pit yelled in anger. "Because I'm the most terrifying villain here," Devil Pit replied. "Even more scarier than Hades. What do you expect?" Viridi then noticed something. "Wait!" she said. "I don't see Cragalanche's weak point anymore. What happened to it?" "I sealed it up before Cragalanche, or more precisely me possessing him, can have a rematch," Devil Pit explained. "I just want to give Pit a literal harder challenge since he already beaten Cragalanche the first time. It makes it much more interesting." "WILL YOU STOP MAKING PUNS DURING THIS FIGHT?!" Pit yelled again. "How about no?" Devil Pit replied. The two of them continued to fight and Devil Pit jumped from the ground and slammed his fist down to the ground. Pit barely avoided that and continued to use his claws to slash at Devil Pit. Then, moved as far away as possible to avoid his powerful attacks and then used shooting attacks to counterattack. "Hey Viridi," Palutena started. "Did this happen to Cragalanche before?" "No..." Viridi responded. "This never happened before. I don't know how this happened." "I used my hidden power called 'Spiritual Possession,'" Devil Pit explained. "It allows me to for a mist around my enemies to give them a surprise attack. I then turn myself in to a slithering cloud and enter their body. After that, I can fully operate their body." "You're more twisted than Nature can be in this forest!" Pit yelled in response. "Excuse me?!" Viridi exclaimed, taking offense to that. "Well then, how about I show you how twisted I can be," said Devil Pit and he grabbed Pit with his fists and slammed him down the floor multiple times. "Ow ow ow ow ow!" Pit cried in pain within each hit. "Try shooting at one of his eyes," Palutena explained. "This will blind him temporarily and you can gain the upper hand." Pit did so and Devil Pit let go of him. "Ow! My eye!" he yelled in pain. "How can I feel pain from this body?!" "Because you're possessing Cragalanche, you dolt," Viridi responded. Why doesn't she takes it seriously like I do? Devil Pit thought to himself. "Now's my chance!" Pit exclaimed and proceeded to melee combo him like crazy. After that, Devil Pit/Possessed Cragalanche was defeated. "Sneaky little bastard!" he cried in defeat. "Guess you were not as tough as I thought you were," Viridi scoffed.

Music stops and switches back to: (M)TMB ARC Extended Music: Athenaeum Riba's Theme (A.K.A. Devil Pit's Theme)

Cragalanche soon tumbled backwards slowly until he collapsed to the ground. Then he exploded into little rocks, rose into the sky, and was sent back to Viridi's Temple to recover. After that, there laid Devil Pit who slowly got back up after his last defeat. "Well that could've gone better," he groaned. "At least it wasn't as tumbling as last time." "So it WAS you!" Pit yelled. "You were the one who possessed Cragalanche!" "How could you do such a thing like that to my commander?!" Viridi questioned. "Explain yourself NOW!" "Very well," Devil Pit complied. "I wanted to get revenge on Pit for humiliating me back at the Phoenix's mountain. So, I followed him quietly to find the victim for me to use my powers for possessing them. I've also been following him during his last few missions to gain information about him and see how tough he was." "Doesn't that seem a little tedious?" Pit asked. "Maybe...but it's something I get myself used to," Devil Pit replied. "And speaking of which, there's something I need to ask you, Pit." "What is it?" Pit replied. "Do you remember those humans you rescued through your path in this forest?" asked Devil Pit. "Yes..." Pit responded, feeling uncomfortable. "Why do you ask?" "Well..." Devil Pit responded. "Turns out they didn't make it out of the forest at all." "What do you mean?" asked Palutena. "Let's just say...hmhmhmhm...I enjoyed a very tasty meal with them," Devil Pit chuckled. "Wait...you mean...?!" Pit started. "No!" Palutena gasped. "You didn't...! You... You couldn't...!" "Yes..." Devil Pit explained. "I KILLED THEM AND ATE THEIR CORPSES WHOLE!"

Music stops and switches to: Kevin Macleod ~ Unseen Horrors (A.K.A. Anger Boils Theme)

Nobody could believe their eyes from what Devil Pit just told them. "No..." Pit gasped. "I rescued them and... and..." Suddenly, he began to gag. "Oh god... I-I... I-I think I'm gonna-" he started but before he could continue, he suddenly threw up into the arena. His barfing was non-stop until he finally breathed again. "WHY WOULD YOU DO SUCH A THING LIKE THAT, YOU MONSTER?!" Pit cried in tears of both sadness and anger. "Because I was so hungry after I heard about Viridi making her arrival here," Devil Pit responded. "And she also ruined my fun when I was killing those mortals back in that battlefield and collected their souls." "Hey!" Viridi shouted. "At least I didn't stoop so low in eating them like that! The Forces of Nature would NEVER do such a horrendous thing like that!" "How funny," Devil Pit replied. "Because you said it yourself that you wanted to exterminate all of humanity! Now what kind of monster would do that?" "I AM NOT A MONSTER!" Viridi shouted. "YOU are the monster here!" "Alright, that's enough," Devil Pit interrupted. "Before we continue, how about I summon a powerful weapon from the powers of Cragalanche." He then summoned the Cragalanche Cannon. "How did you get that weapon?" asked Pit. "After I absorbed Cragalanche's powers before you defeated him, I used them to form this weapon," Devil Pit explained. "Now it's time for you to meet your permanent demise." "We'll see about that, Devil Pit!" Pit shouted and Phase 2 of the battle began.

Devil Pit charged at Pit with is weapon, leaving rows of stone spikes that rose up from the ground. Pit barely avoided that attack and saw the aftermath. The stone spikes soon began to slowly sink back into the ground. "What the?" Pit wondered. "How do you like that, Pit?" asked Devil Pit. "With these types of weapons equipped from other enemies you faced and absorbed their powers, I can achieve brand new skills at my disposal so that I can finish you, and you will burn within the flames of Abyss!" "Be careful with Devil Pit's attacks!" warned Palutena. "Don't get too close or else you will take massive damage. I recommend dodging as quick as you can before you can have a chance to strike!" "Thank you, Lady Palutena!" Pit complied. "I'll be careful!" Just then, Devil Pit rose from the battlefield and slammed his weapon down to create a massive stone ring. "Gah!" Pit cried in shock. The ring slowly sank down after impact. "How about that?" asked Devil Pit. "Are you having fun? Because I'm having a lot of fun." "Shut up!" Pit shouted. "You will pay for killing all of those humans I saved!" "I'd like to see you try," said Devil Pit. "Dodge this!" He then fired his weapon to send out small explosives to deal big damage. Pit avoided those attacks quickly before they could hit him. "Not bad," Devil Pit scoffed. "But can you survive THIS?!" He then charged at Pit and smacked at him with his weapon, knocking him down. Then, he proceeded to melee attack him like there was no tomorrow. This left Pit really bruised up. "Ow..." he groaned. "I told you that you cannot defeat me," said Devil Pit, grinning evilly. "Now...time for you to be finished." He then charged up his cannon to fire a powerful blast. Palutena then saw that as Pit's opening chance. "Now's your chance, Pit!" she said. "Use a melee attack to stop him then take him down!" "Roger!" said Pit. He then used a melee attack to catch Devil Pit off guard. "Ow! What the?!" he yelped. "Now to finish this!" Pit said. He then used a melee and shooting combo on Devil Pit. At long last, Devil Pit was defeated. "How is that even possible?!" he cried in defeat. "You were off guard! That's why!" Pit yelled in victory.

Devil Pit tumbled through the arena and his weapon was destroyed upon losing his powers. "Damn it!" he yelled. "How did you do it?! How did you defeat me again?!" "Because you cannot underestimate the servant of the Goddess of Light," Pit responded. "Now what are you going to do?" "I'll let you live for now," Devil Pit responded as he slowly got back up. "But mark my words! This war has only just begun. I'll let you know that the Goddess of Nature has a lot more plans to take care of, and so do I. Good luck, flightless angel. You're gonna need it." He then flew away from the Reset Bomb Forest and dropped something. "Another tape?" Pit wondered. He then went over to the tape and picked it up. "I wonder what this one will say this time." Suddenly, he saw Viridi's projection. "You put on quite a show there," she said. "But you should know that the next Reset Bomb is very nearly complete. Hmm, now where do you think I should drop it this time?" Her projection then faded away while giggling. "You can't do that!" Pit yelled. In fact, didn't you saw what Devil Pit did to your commander earlier? he added in thought. "First Hades, then Devil Pit, and now Viridi?" said Palutena, worried. "We need to figure out a plan." But I have a bad feeling that Devil Pit might be right about the war beginning once again, she added in thought. I don't know what it will be like, but I KNOW that it's not good. She then opened up a light pillar and whisked Pit back.

"I'm worried right now, Lady Palutena," said Pit. "I don't know what to do right now. First we accidentally freed Devil Pit from his prison, the Mirror of Truth, then we realized that Hades was the true leader of the Underworld, and now Viridi is going to wipe out all of humanity with her Reset Bombs! What are we going to do now?!" Palutena was sad to hear Pit say all of that. She then approached to the angel and comforted him in her warm embrace. "Shh...calm down, Pit," she spoke quietly. "We're in this together, remember? I know that we're dealing with a lot of enemies now, but there's no other choice. We can't let them cause more trouble." "You're right," Pit agreed. "Now let's bring everyone together to listen to the next tape." "Alright," said Palutena. "Let's go." The soon brought everyone together again to listen to the next tape. Pit then pulled out the tape marked "Past Research," placed it in the tape player, and pushed PLAY.

"I've been researching about something one night after I finished a mission," the voice said. "I've been looking at Palutena's documents about her past life. It would seem that she had two sisters. With all three of them together, they were known as 'The Three Goddess Sisters.'" The three of them lived in harmony of Angel Land and ruled Skyworld together. Palutena is one of those sisters. She is the youngest of the trio. The other two are Medusa and Gaia. Medusa is of course the Goddess of Darkness. She used to live with Palutena and Gaia as a happy family, but one day Hades invaded Skyworld and captured Medusa to become his queen. He corrupted her and she became his puppet. However, when I was looking at Gaia's document, I couldn't seem to picture what it said. It would seem that Palutena covered the document so that I wouldn't know anything about her. Oh well. One thing's for certain. Palutena is the only sister left of the family, since the other two were already separated from her. I will continue my research and figure out Palutena's secrets. And then...SHE...will DIE!" *click*

At this point, Pit and Palutena were shocked to hear that. But Palutena began to cry in tears again. "Lady Palutena? Is that true?" Pit asked. "Is Medusa one of your...sisters?" Palutena nodded quietly. "But...who's this 'Gaia' person he was talking about?" "I..." Palutena began. "I-I don't know if I could tell you about her. But one thing for sure is that something terrible is going to happen now." "What do you mean?" Pit asked. "I have a feeling that Devil Pit's plan is going to bring all of us together in an all-out war," Palutena replied. "And I don't know how to deal with it." "Don't worry, my lady," said Pit. "If something like this happened to humanity, we'll do whatever it takes to fight and protect them from evil. Including Devil Pit. Now let's all go and take a rest." "You're right, Pit," Palutena agreed. "Let's go. We have a big battle mission to take care of." Pit nodded and everyone returned to their rooms to rest and prepare themselves for the next mission.

Devil Pit, meanwhile, heard the conversation in the same secluded spot. "Everything is all going according to plan," he said. "Soon there will be nothing left remaining in this world and we will bring chaos through other ones. Now that we know that the war is about to begin again, there's no need for me to take care of 'her' right away. But first, there is only one thing I need to take care of." He then flew away from the temple. He landed back in the same Reset Bomb Forest. "I don't think this forest is needed to live on anymore," he continued. "It's time for me to take care of it right now." He then used Pyrokinesis with his right arm, threw a fireball around the whole forest, and it was burned to the ground. "That should take care of it," he said. "This was only the first step of my master plan. Now Viridi is going to target all of her enemies, and the War of Chaos will begin! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!" He then teleported away from the burning forest.

Wow. This surely took a dark turn of events. I apologize to anyone who read the entire chapter and felt uncomfortable with the sensitive parts. But I must warn you that this is only the beginning of them all. Oh and in case if you were wondering about Viridi's dialogue about Pit, yes I am a Pit x Viridi shipper and no I will not be offensive to your opinions. Stay tuned for chapter twelve, review, and have a great day!
