Star Trek: The Next Gamer

Episode 5.6: Coruscant - The Plot Unravels

The clock struck 6:00, and Senator Sheev Palpatine was already in his office, his hands clasped behind his back. The silence was almost deafening, but the steady hum of his computers and a lone cleaning droid filled the room.

Palpatine walked over to his desk and sat down in his high-backed leather chair, his eyes scanning the datapads on his desk. He had already reviewed the latest intelligence reports from across the galaxy, but there was always more to do.

He picked up his commlink and pressed a button. "Have there been any developments in the Kessel situation?"

There was a pause before the voice of one of his many aids came through. "No, Senator, the situation remains stable. I will keep you informed if there are any changes."

Palpatine nodded to himself. He had already expected as much, but he had to be sure. His fingers tapped against the armrest of his chair as he considered his next move.

There was a faint beep, and a holographic image of Senator Bail Organa appeared in front of him. "Good Morning Sheev, we need to discuss the latest budget proposal. Can we meet later today?"

Palpatine smiled thinly. "Of course, Senator. I will have my assistant set up a meeting. I look forward to our discussion."

The hologram faded away, and Palpatine leaned back in his chair. It was just another day in the life of a senator, a day full of politics and bureaucracy, a day full of scheming and manipulation. But as he looked out the window of his office, over the sprawling city of Coruscant, he knew that there was more to come. During the night a Force Disturbance more powerful than any he'd felt ripped him from his dreams. The ripples were still echoing in his senses. Something of this magnitude would be one of the few events worthy of him eschewing his senatorial duties. But the Force whispered patience to him. The current was directing events toward Coruscant. Sheev couldn't tell if it was the Will of the Force or his master's guidance, but either way, he'd manipulate events to serve his goals.

The rosy glow of dawn filled the spacious office. The room was already bustling with activity as aides and advisors hurried around, checking and rechecking schedules and messages. Palpatine was seated at his large desk, his hands clasped in front of him, his eyes closed in quiet contemplation and his thoughts focused on the day ahead. As he sat there, a soft chime sounded, and his eyes opened. He nodded to his assistant, who approached with a cup of hot caf. He sipped the rich, strong brew, savoring the flavor, then set the cup aside and turned his attention to his schedule.

"Senator, we've received a communication from Queen Amidala. She's on her way to Coruscant with the Jedi negotiators. She brings news of an invasion by the Trade Federation."

"That is dire news indeed. Send a message to Chancellor Velorum, he'll want to be there to greet the Queen when she arrives. Adjust my schedule to match."

"First up, a meeting with the Corporate Alliance representatives," he murmured, scanning the schedule with a practiced eye. "I wonder what they're after this time?"

He rose from his desk, straightening his robe and smoothing his hair. As he moved towards the door, his assistant fell into step behind him.

"You're meeting with them in the East Wing, sir," she said, consulting her datapad.

Palpatine took a deep breath, composing himself before the meeting with the Corporate Alliance officials. His assistant took the cue and left the Senator to his preparations. He stepped into the room. To his surprise, there was no one there except for a lone figure in the shadows. The blue skin, and lip-less, nose-less face marked the man as a Duros. Palpatine's eyes narrowed at the gambler hat and tubes leading from the side of his face. It took a moment for him to recognize the notorious bounty hunter, Cad Bane. He knew he had to be cautious, as the hunter had a reputation for capturing his marks, even Jedi.

"Senator Palpatine, it's a pleasure to finally meet you," Cad Bane said in a low, menacing voice. "I'm sure you're wondering why I'm here."

Palpatine maintained his composure, keeping his voice steady. "I assume it has something to do with a bounty." The senator attempted to talk his way around the bounty hunter, "I'm sure if you're seeking information, one of my aids can assist you."

Bane smirked. "You catch on quick. I've been hired to take you down, and I must say, it was easy tracking you. So nice that you stuck to the schedule and that the security here is rather lax."

"I'm afraid you won't be able to collect on that bounty," Palpatine said calmly. "I have powerful friends who won't take kindly to your interference."

Bane laughed. "You'll have to excuse me if I couldn't care. I've taken down plenty in my time, and I don't see you as any different."

Palpatine remained calm on the outside, but his heartbeat began elevating in anticipation. He couldn't use his force powers in front of the hunter without giving himself away. But he was not without resources. As Bane spoke, Palpatine surreptitiously accessed his comlink, signaling for help. But he knew it would be minutes before the guards arrived, and he would have to hold off the hunter until then.

He kept his eyes fixed on Bane, a ruse to give the impression that he was unnerved. But in truth, he was analyzing the bounty hunter's every move, seeking a weakness. And then, he saw it.

Bane's gaze flickered for a split second, and that was all Palpatine needed. He lunged forward, using his small stature and a quick burst of Force Speed to dart past the hunter's massive frame. Bane spun around, but Palpatine was already out the door, sprinting down the corridor. He dodged and weaved through the corridors, his heart racing with every step. He could hear the bounty hunter's boots pounding behind him, but he dared not look back.

Finally, he burst out into the sunlight of the Senate plaza, drawing the attention of the nearby politicians and security personnel. Bane hesitated, unwilling to pursue Palpatine in broad daylight with so many witnesses around. Palpatine quickly regained his composure and brushed off his robes, masking his fear with his signature calm demeanor. The guards came over to ask what had happened, but Palpatine waved them off, claiming he had been the victim of a random mugging.

As he walked back to his office, he knew that he had come dangerously close to giving away his true power, but he had managed to keep his secret safe for another day.

~~Star Trek: TNG~~

The Naboo ship descended towards Coruscant, the planet's vast cityscape stretched before them like a glittering sea of lights. The urban sprawl was overwhelming, with skyscrapers piercing the clouds, highways crisscrossing the skyline, and air speeders zipping through the air like swarms of insects. The ship touched down on a landing platform, the hum of the engines echoing through the metallic structures around them. From here, they could see the never-ending flow of air traffic, the chaos of a city teeming with life. The grandeur of the city planet made New York City look like a single-stoplight town.

The ramp lowered and out stepped the royal procession. First came the Queen, with her regal bearing and ornate gown, followed by her handmaidens, each one a picture of grace and poise. Blended among them was Shmi Skywalker, her years of service as a slave allowing her to easily fill the role of handmaiden.

As they approached the welcoming party, the Chancellor greeted them with open arms. "Welcome to Coruscant, Your Highness," he said with a warm smile.

The Queen returned the smile, but her eyes betrayed a hint of concern. "Thank you, Chancellor," she replied. "I am grateful for your hospitality."

Chancellor Velorum turned to his aide who gave a slight shrug before addressing the new arrival. "I apologize for the absence of the Senator from Naboo. He intended to be here to greet you, but must have been delayed."

The Queen failed to hide her disappointment, "I must admit, the situation on my planet has become quite precarious. I fear for my people's safety. And I'm concerned that our own Senator is not present for such dire circumstances."

The Chancellor's expression grew grave. "I share your concern, Your Highness. Rest assured, we will do everything in our power to help Naboo."

The Queen nodded, "Thank you, Chancellor. I look forward to working with you."

As the Naboo delegation left the ship, Tyson watched the split as Padmé joined the politicians and Qui-Gon was greeted by several Jedi. Qui-Gon turned to Tyson, "If you're willing, please protect the Queen and Anakin. I have much to discuss with the Jedi council."

"I will. Take HALO with you, he has the recording of your fight. Your council might find a use for the footage." The Gamer ordered his floating creation, "Go with them, follow their orders, once you've shown the footage, return to me."

Qui-Gon's entourage made their way to the Jedi Temple, a towering spire of gleaming white that stretched toward the sky. As they walked through the grand halls, they passed other Jedi knights and Padawans, some nodding respectfully to the group as they passed. Finally, they reached a large chamber where the Jedi High Council awaited them. Twelve Jedi sat in a semicircle; Qui-Gon stepped forward and addressed the council.

~~Star Trek: TNG~~

Senator Palpatine entered the hovercraft, ready to meet with Queen Amidala's ship. But as his vehicle rose into the skyway, he sensed something was off. The hairs on the back of his neck stood up, and the Force screamed a warning only he could hear.

An explosion rocked the hovercraft sending it spiraling out of control. Palpatine clung to his seat as the craft careened through the air, trying to spot his attackers. A group of Trandoshan bounty hunters had ambushed him, their gunship closing in for the kill. Palpatine's eyes darted around the cockpit, searching for a way out.

Sheev reached for the controls and spun the hovercraft in a tight loop, evading the incoming fire. He pulled on the Force, ensuring the maneuver worked as directed regardless of the damage to the vessel. The Senator guided the damaged vessel in sporadic movements, weaving the doomed ship between the skyscrapers and sending his attackers on a wild chase. Sweat beaded on his forehead as he fought to stay alive. The Trandoshans were relentless, firing wave after wave of shots at him. Palpatine had to use every tactic he knew to stay one step ahead, using the Force to guide the battered skiff and narrowly avoiding disaster.

The Senator had to abandon the chase. He was moving the ship with his will alone, straining even his prodigious Force talent. The hovercraft reached its limit as it sailed unerringly toward one of Coruscant's many towering structures. Palpatine had no choice but to slip through a blasted window, using the Force to direct his landing onto a nearby lower roof. The vehicle he escaped crashed into the building as he anticipated.

Senator Palpatine released the anger he'd been suppressing, his rage boiling to the surface as he used the Force to grab the Trandoshan gunship. The bounty hunters had maneuvered their ship to come around for another pass, but the hidden Sith forced it to continue forward. The gunship barrelled into the same building as the prey they had pursued. The already damaged skyscraper was the victim of a second explosion. This most recent bunch of bounty hunters was dead, but the escape had come at a cost - he missed the meeting with Queen Amidala's ship.

Palpatine cursed under his breath, knowing the repercussions of his absence could be disastrous.

In the council chamber, the floor-to-ceiling windows presented a beautiful view of the skyline contrasting with the somber mood of the inhabitants. The council of Jedi Masters stood in silence, pondering the words of Qui-Gon Jinn.

"My only conclusion can be that it was a Sith Lord," Qui-Gon spoke, his voice low and gravelly.

"A Sith Lord?!" Mace Windu exclaimed in disbelief.

"Impossible! The Sith have been extinct for millennia," another Jedi muttered with a slight rasp.

"The very Republic is threatened, if involved the Sith are," stated the diminutive Yoda.

"I do not believe they could have returned without us knowing," Mace Windu spoke firmly, his voice echoing in the chamber.

"Hard to see, the dark side is. Discover who this assassin is, we must," decided the Grandmaster.

HALO, Tyson's droid, played the footage of the fight between Qui-Gon and the mysterious Sith. The clarity provided by the Federation's best holo-technology presented the cinematic battle for the council's viewing.

"Are you certain this recording is accurate?" Ki-Adi Mundi questioned, looking at the other members of the council.

"This attack was with a purpose, that is clear, and it seems the Queen was the target," added Windu.

"With this Naboo Queen, you must stay, Qui-Gon. Protect her," Yoda instructed.

"We will use all our resources here to unravel this mystery and discover the identity of your attacker...May the Force be with you," Mace Windu said.

"May the Force be with you," Yoda repeated

Obi-Wan turned to leave, but Qui-Gon continued to face the Council.

"Master Qui-Gon more to say have you?"

"With your permission, my Master. I have encountered a vergence in the Force," Qui-Gon spoke, his eyes fixed on Yoda.

"A vergence, you say?"

"Located around a person?" Mace Windu inquired curiously.

"A boy... his cells have the highest concentration of midichlorians I have seen in a life form. It is possible he was conceived by the midichlorians,"

"You're referring to the prophecy of the one who will bring balance to the Force...you believe it's this boy?" asked a skeptical Windu.

"I don't presume,"

"But you do! Revealed your opinion is,"

"I request the boy be tested," Qui-Gon said with finality, his eyes fixed on the Council.

The Jedi all looked at one another, sharing some silent telepathic communication. "Trained as a Jedi, you request for him?"

"Finding him was the will of the Force… I have no doubt of that," Qui-Gon replied, "There is too much happening here… There is also another. He was close to the boy, and suddenly gained a Force presence. The brightest I've seen, and his midichlorian count matched the boy's concentration levels,"

"Bring them before us, then," Windu ordered.

"Tested they will be,"

Senator Palpatine strode down the corridor, his face betraying no hint of the anxiety that roiled inside him. He'd barely kept ahead of Coruscant security after the brush with the Trandoshans. He did not have time to be detained, he needed to get to the Senate chambers for the current session. He was a politician, after all, and that meant keeping up appearances no matter what. Plus, he'd have to steer the mind of the Queen toward his desired outcome.

But as he rounded the corner, he was faced with a blockage. A man in Mandalorian armor, a sleek helmet hiding his face, stood guarding the back entrance to the Senate chambers. Palpatine tried to move around him, but the Mandalorian stepped in front of him, his hand going to the hilt of a blaster.

"I'm sorry," the Mandalorian said in a voice that was distorted by his helmet. "I can't let you pass."

Palpatine stood tall and met the Mandalorian's gaze. "And why is that? Don't you know who I am?" he asked, his voice steady.

The Mandalorian hesitated for a moment before speaking. Even with his face hidden it somehow conveyed he knew exactly who Palpatine was… his target.

Palpatine was tired of being delayed, sidetracked, and hunted, and couldn't keep the malice out of his voice as a hint of his darker nature slipped through, "I've no quarrel with you."

Fett laughed a cruel sound. "You're a politician. Everyone has a quarrel with you."

Palpatine tried to back away, but Fett drew a blaster pistol and fired a shot at the senator's head. Palpatine barely managed to dodge the bolt, the Force speeding his thoughts as he sought a way around the bounty hunter to reach the Senate chambers.

Jango raised his blaster and aimed it at Palpatine's chest. But before Fett could pull the trigger, a group of security droids appeared from around the corner, their weapons trained on the Mandalorian.

"Drop your weapon, bounty hunter," one of the droids said in a metallic voice.

Fett hesitated for a moment before slowly lowering his blaster. He turned to face the droids, his helmeted face unreadable.

"Looks like luck is on my side this time," Palpatine said, gloating.

But Fett's voice revealed his hidden smile, "I'll see you around, Senator," he said before triggering his jetpack and disappearing in the surrounding aerial traffic.

The Senate chambers were as chaotic as they were vast, filled with thousands of senators and aides hurrying about. Chancellor Valorum sat elevated in the center, while Queen Amidala, Captain Panaka, and her aides sat in the Naboo congressional box, a floating platform suspended above the fray. Surprisingly absent was Senator Palpatine, the Naboo representative.

The Naboo congressional box floated into the center, and Vice Chair Mas Amedda opened with an announcement. "Delegates of the Senate," he said. "I present Queen Amidala, the recently elected ruler of Naboo."

Amidala stood to address the assembly, and there was some applause. "Honorable representatives of the Republic, distinguished delegates, and Your Honor Chancellor Valorum," she said, "I come to you under the gravest of circumstances. The Naboo system has been invaded by force. Invaded...against all the laws of the Republic by the Droid Armies of the Trade Federation..."

A second box rushed into the center of the Senate, filled with Trade Federation barons led by Lott Dod, their Senate representative. "This is outrageous!" he objected. "I object to the Senator's statements!"

Valorum interrupted. "The Chair does not recognize the Senator from the Trade Federation at this time. Please return to your station."

Dod reluctantly moved back to his place. "I object!" he cried. "There is no proof. This is incredible. We recommend a commission be sent to Naboo to ascertain the truth."

"Overruled," Valorum said.

"Your Honor, you cannot allow us to be condemned without reasonable observation," Dod protested. "It's against all the rules of procedure."

A third box representing Malastare moved into the center of the room, and Aks Moe, the Ambassador, addressed the convention. "The Congress of Malastare concurs with the honorable delegate from the Trade Federation," he said. "A commission must be appointed...that is the law."

Valorum conferred with several of his aides and Vice Chairman Mas Amedda. "The point is conceded...Section 523A takes precedence here. Queen Amidala of the Naboo, will you defer your motion to allow a commission to explore the validity of your accusations?"

But Queen Amidala cut him off. "I will not defer," she said, anger in her voice. "I have come before you to resolve this attack on our sovereignty, now. I was not elected to watch my people suffer and die while you discuss this invasion in a committee. If it is evidence you seek, I present it to you here and now."

At her statement, HALO began projecting everything he recorded while on Naboo: the Trade Federation invasion force in the swamp, the army occupying Theed, and the battle to free the Queen herself and escape from the occupied hangar.

This caused a great stir in the assembly, a loud murmur crescendoing into a roar of dissent and jeers. Chancellor Valorum stood speechless. His Vice Chair, Mas Amedda, took over. "Order! We shall have order," he shouted.

Things settled down a little, and the Trade Federation box settled next to Amidala. Prince Bail Organa moved his box into the arena. "Alderaan motions for a vote to send a Republic force to determine the status of Naboo, and liberate it if necessary, based on the evidence presented," he said.

"The motion has been proposed by Bail Organa of Alderaan," Mad Amedda announced.

"Chandrila motions to second Alderaan's motion."

"The motion has been seconded by Mon Mothma of Chandrila," he continued.

Mas Amedda turned to Chancellor Valorum and whispered something to him.

"There must be no delays," Organa said. "The motion is on the floor and must be voted upon in this session."

But the Trade Federation objected and chaos reigned on the Senate floor.

~~Star Trek: TNG~~

The Jedi Council chamber was large and ornate, adorned with intricate carvings and tapestries. At the center of the room sat a group of robed figures, including the small, green-skinned Jedi Master, Yoda, and the imposing Mace Windu.

Tyson stood before them. The Jedi had just finished testing Anakin Skywalker and before they passed judgment on the Force-sensitive child, it was Tyson's turn to be examined.

Yoda {Lvl 20 Jedi Grandmaster}

Mace Windu {Lvl 20 Jedi Master}

Ki Adi Mundi {Lvl 16 Jedi Master}

Yoda regarded Tyson, "Tell us, you will, of your origins."

Tyson cleared his throat, feeling the weight of their scrutiny. "I come from beyond what you consider the known regions. I am of a race called Vulcans. As a species, we practice restraint and control as a way to suppress our base nature and live a life of logic without the confines of emotions."

Mace Windu leaned forward with a curious expression. "And how did you come to be here, seeking the Jedi Order?"

"We know of the Force where I come from," Tyson replied. "None of us are able to touch it, however. Despite meditation being an ingrained part of the culture. The connection I felt after coming in contact with Anakin was beyond what I imagined."

The Jedi Council murmured among themselves, exchanging skeptical glances. They were hesitant to believe that someone could touch the Force just by being near another. A vergence could increase an individual's connection to the Force, but there were very few instances of vergences being people, they were usually centered around a place or object.

Ki-Adi-Mundi spoke up,"We shall see if the Force is truly strong with you. You will undergo testing."

Tyson took a deep breath, steeling himself for the trials ahead. He was determined to prove himself to the Council.

Use the Force Check (DC: 15) = 17 Success.

~~Star Trek: TNG~~

Palpatine stormed out of the Senate chambers, his rage boiling inside him. He had missed the Queen and her delegation by mere moments, and the Senate was already in uproar over whether to vote on the Trade Federation blockade of Naboo or to delay it even further. All his efforts, all his plotting, all his machinations had come to naught, and he could feel the Dark Side of the Force tugging at him, urging him to lash out and let his anger take over. He tried to calm himself, to regain his composure, but the frustration and disappointment were too much to bear. He walked down the hall, his footsteps echoing loudly in the empty corridors as he muttered curses under his breath. It was supposed to be a simple matter, a quick manipulation of events to get the outcome he wanted. But everything had gone wrong, and he had been forced to improvise and adjust on the fly.

As he turned the corner, he came face to face with a group of Jedi younglings, who were touring with a Jedi guardian. They paused when they saw him, their eyes widening in surprise at the sight of the esteemed Senator Palpatine in such a state. One of them, a bold young Togruta girl, stepped forward and asked, "Senator, is everything all right? Can we help you in any way?"

Palpatine barely restrained himself from lashing out at the younglings, his fury, and shame at the day's events threatening to spill over. Instead, he took a deep breath and forced a smile onto his face. "No, no, my young friends. Everything is under control. I simply had a minor setback in the Senate chambers. But I will recover. I always do."

The Jedi guardian nodded, still unsure, and herded their charges down the hall. Palpatine watched them go, his mind seething with frustration and anger. He knew he had to find a way to turn this situation around, to salvage what he could from this mess. But how?

~~Star Trek: TNG~~

Tyson waited, as the Council went into an intense discussion.

Windu was the first to speak, "He is strong, but there is more to being a Jedi than physical prowess."

"Impressive, for one untrained Tyson is," Yoda said, stroking his chin. "But too late it is."

"I agree," Ki-Adi-Mundi said, nodding. "And I sense excitement and hubris within him."

Mace Windu leaned forward. "He's too old," he said, his expression stern. "Why would we even consider this?"

The council turned to Yoda, awaiting his decision.

"Jedi, Tyson cannot be," Yoda said. "Rejected his request to join the order is."

Tyson felt a pang of disappointment, but this outcome was expected and he tried to accept his denial gracefully. "I understand," he said, with a small bow, "Thank you for your consideration." Accepting the council's decision and dismissal, the Gamer left to await the decision on Anakin.

Anakin Skywalker stood nervously before the Jedi Council, his heart pounding in his chest. This was the moment he'd been waiting for, the moment he'd dreamed of for so long. He knew he was strong in the Force, Master Qui-Gon had said so, and he knew that he was destined for greatness, he'd seen it in his dreams. But as he looked into the eyes of the Council members, he saw nothing but doubt and skepticism. They had already made up their minds about him.

"Correct you were, Qui-Gon," Yoda said slowly as if considering his words carefully.

"His cells contain a high concentration of midichlorians," Mace Windu added.

"The Force is strong with him," Ki-Adi-Mundi chimed in.

"He's to be trained, then," Qui-Gon asked.

Anakin felt a glimmer of hope at these words, but it was quickly extinguished by Mace Windu's next words. "No. He will not be trained," he said firmly.

Anakin's heart sank. He couldn't believe what he was hearing.

"No?!" Qui-Gon exclaimed, his voice filled with disbelief and frustration. Obi-Wan smiled, but it was a sad smile as if he knew what was coming next.

"He is too old," Mace Windu said, his voice firm and final. "There is already too much anger in him."

"He is the chosen one...you must see it," Qui-Gon argued.

"Clouded, this boy's future is," Yoda said, his voice heavy with regret.

"I will train him, then," Qui-Gon said defiantly. "I take Anakin as my Padawan learner."

Anakin's heart leaped with hope once more, but it was quickly dashed by the Council's response.

"An apprentice, you have, Qui-Gon. Impossible, to take on a second," Yoda said.

"We forbid it," Mace Windu added.

"Obi-Wan is ready," Qui-Gon tried once more. His certain tone, trying to mask the desperation creeping into his voice.

"I am ready to face the trials," Obi-Wan said, stepping forward.

"Ready so early, are you? What know you of ready?" Yoda asked, his eyes fixed on Obi-Wan.

Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan exchanged looks, and Anakin watched helplessly as his dream slipped away.

"Headstrong...and he has much to learn about the living Force, but he is capable. There is little more he will learn from me," Qui-Gon said in defense of his current padawan.

"Our own council we will keep on who is ready. More to learn, he has," Yoda disagreed.

"Now is not the time for this...the Senate is debating a vote centered around Naboo. Queen Amidala is returning home, which will put pressure on the Trade Federation and could widen the confrontation," Mace Windu said.

"Events are moving fast...too fast," Ki-Adi-Mundi added.

"Go with the Queen to Naboo and discover the identity of the dark warrior. That is the clue we need to unravel this mystery of the Sith," Mace Windu ordered, his eyes fixed on Qui-Gon.

"Young Skywalker's fate will be decided later," Yoda said, his voice final.

"I brought Anakin here; he must stay in my charge. He has nowhere else to go," Qui-Gon pleaded, his voice heavy with defeat.

"He is your ward, Qui-Gon...we will not dispute that," Mace Windu said.

"Train him not. Take him with you, but train him not."

"Protect the Queen," Mace continued, "but do not intercede if it comes to war until we have the Senate's approval."

"And what of the other, Tyson?"

"Come on, Qui-Gon," Windu's patience was wearing thin. "He's older than most were when they were made knights, even masters. The council was certainly not going to approve him and who would take a grown man as a padawan learner?"

"Discuss this we will no longer." The grandmaster put the matter to rest. "Go. Protect the Queen. May the Force be with you."

~~Star Trek: TNG~~

As Qui-Gon, Obi-Wan, and Anakin entered the Jedi Archives, Tyson walked quietly behind them. He had always dreamed of becoming a Jedi, but he knew there was no chance the Council would consider accepting him. The group made their way through the towering shelves of the Jedi archives and encountered a figure who stood out among the rest. A blind woman with a palpable aura of knowledge emanating from her every gesture. "May I help you?" the woman asked, her slightly raspy voice revealing the age, that her beautiful face hid.

Qui-Gon stepped forward. "We seek knowledge on the Sith and their involvement in the galaxy."

"Ah, the Sith," the woman said thoughtfully, "A subject that has been of great interest to many for centuries."

Anakin spoke up. "Are you a Jedi?"

The woman smiled. "In a way, I suppose I am. My name is Arren Kae. I am a Jedi historian and a seeker of knowledge, and since you asked I do hold the rank of Master." Kae's sightless gaze then turned to Tyson, studying him with a curious intensity. "And who is this young man with you?"

"This is Tyson," Qui-Gon replied. "He has shown great potential in the Force, but came to the attention of the council recently. As you can see, he is well beyond the age of consideration. I appealed to the council but they unanimously decided against training him."

Arren's silver-white eyes fixed on Tyson and she leaned in closer to the Gamer, "I sense great power within you, Tyson," she said, her voice so low that only he could hear, but still commanding. "The Council may not see it, but I do. I can teach you the ways of the Force, show you how to wield it to its fullest potential."

Tyson was unsure of what to do. He had only just met this blind Jedi, and yet something about her resonated with him. There was also a strange sense of familiarity, like he knew her or recognized her, but couldn't place from where. The feeling was squashed by the prospect of being able to learn the ways of the Jedi. An instructor would allow him to gain much through Apt-Pupil.

"I am your only hope," said the aged master, mumbling so low that no human could hear, "And you are mine."

"I would be honored to be your apprentice," he said, bowing respectfully.

Force Bond Established (Arren Kae)
Force Bond
You have a connection to another individual through the Force. This bond allows you to sense the other's emotions, thoughts, and even physical sensations. When you and your bonded partner are within close proximity, you gain a heightened sense of awareness and combat proficiency. However, if one of you is in great peril, the other may experience intense emotional distress and even physical pain.

Kae smiled, but there was a hint of danger in her eyes. "Good. We must begin at once, I sense many trials in your near future."

With that, Arren led Tyson away from the Archives, leaving Qui-Gon, Obi-Wan, and Anakin standing in stunned silence. They could only wonder why Master Kae took interest in Tyson as a padawan. Master Kae led Tyson to a secluded meditation room, the walls lined with intricate tapestries depicting the history of the Jedi Order. She motioned for him to sit, and he obliged, settling onto a plush cushion.

"Tell me, Tyson," Arren began, her voice low and measured, "what do you know of the Force?"

Tyson hesitated, unsure of how to answer such a broad question. "I know that it's an energy field that connects all living things," he said finally. "I know it's a power that some people can access, and it can do incredible things."

Arren nodded. "Yes, that is true. Let us start with the most basic principle of The Force. It connects all life. You are correct that it is an energy field that exists throughout the universe, created by all living things, and binds the galaxy together." She paused, taking a deep breath before continuing. "The Force can be harnessed and used by those who are sensitive to it. There are two sides to the Force: the light and the dark. The Light Side is about sacrifice, compassion, and the greater good. The Dark Side, on the other hand, is about selfishness, anger, and the pursuit of power."

Tyson frowned. "Is it common for the Jedi to use the Dark Side?"

Arren's eyes grew darker. "The temptation of the Dark Side can be great," she said. "It offers power that many find alluring. But it comes at a great cost."

She leaned forward slightly as if whispering a secret for Tyson alone to hear. "To truly understand the Force, one must study both sides. But it is a path that is not to be taken lightly. It requires discipline, focus, and an unwavering dedication." A small smile played at the corners of her lips. "The Force is a balance between light and dark, life and death." Arren chuckled softly. "The Force is not good or evil but it can be used for both," she said. "It is a tool, nothing more. It is up to the user to determine its morality."

Tyson felt a shiver run down his spine at Master Kae's words. It was at that moment that the first seeds of doubt were planted in his mind. Her unorthodox beliefs around the Force, and her willingness to speak openly about the Dark Side, all tickled at the Gamer's memories.

Hello Nurse! sometimes made it difficult for Tyson to reconcile his memories of a character with their current appearance. Arren Kae was a vision of beauty. Her middle-age belied a youthful countenance, a canvas of smooth, unblemished skin. Kae's sightless eyes were twin pools of molten silver that captivated all who dared to meet her gaze. Her full lips, the color of rose petals, were framed by silken tresses of ivory. Her hair was split into two sections that were bound by multiple black rings, creating the illusion of a braid, which reached down to her bountiful chest. As she moved, Arren's lithe, graceful form seemed at odds with her tall, six-foot frame. Her attire, a simple brown Jedi robe, clung to her form like a loving embrace. The plainness of the garment was overshadowed by the wonderfully traced contours of her body.

"Do not be afraid, Tyson," Arren said softly, sensing his apprehension. "There are many routes to mastery of the Force and other philosophies beyond the Jedi Order. And I would teach all to you."

Tyson looked into Arren's eyes, knowing she saw him without seeing. Her teachings would challenge everything he thought he knew about the Force and her opinion would be considered heretical by the Jedi council, but he accepted her nonetheless.

Master Kae nodded, her lips curving into a slight smile. "Good. Then let us begin."

Kae sat back and regarded Tyson with a critical eye. She asked, "Do you see the Force as a weapon or a tool, or as a way to understand the universe?"

Tyson considered before answering, "I've always felt that the Force was something greater than just a way to fight or manipulate the world. But you said earlier that the force was just a tool."

Master Kae shook her head in disapproval. "Correct. Your feelings are wrong. The Force is a tool to be used by those who are strong enough to wield it. It is not some religion or dogma to be followed blindly as the Order would have you believe." she said. "The Jedi have become blinded by their own hubris, and have forgotten the true power that lies within the universe."

Tyson listened intently, absorbing the depth of knowledge that Arren shared. "What true power?" he asked.

Arren's lips twisted into a wry smile. "That is something you must discover for yourself, Tyson," she said. "The Force is a mysterious thing, and it reveals its secrets to those who seek them with an open mind. But now, you must practice."

Master Kae sat in front of Tyson, her eyes closed, a small stone placed between them. "You must clear your mind of all distractions, Tyson," she said. "Focus on the object before you and feel its weight. You are going to use the Force to move it."

Tyson closed his eyes, took a deep breath, and let his mind empty of all thoughts.

"Good," Arren said, sensing his focus. "Now, reach out with your mind and grasp the object."

Tyson extended his hand and concentrated on the nearby rock. He could feel the weight of the rock, and the vibrations of the Force that surrounded it. He reached out with his mind, his fingers curling as if he were physically grabbing the rock.

With a sharp intake of breath, Tyson's eyes snapped open as the rock rose off the ground, floating in the air. He could feel a light strain on his mind as he held the object aloft. But it was a small price to pay for the sense of power that came with it.

Force Power Unlocked: Telekinesis
You've gained the ability to move or lift objects using the Force. Make a Use the Force check. The result of the check determines the maximum size of the target you can lift. Spending a Force Point will increase the maximum size of the target by one category and deal additional damage. If the target is a creature that resists your attempt, your Use the Force check must also exceed the target's Will Defense. You can hurl the target at (or drop it on) another target in range if your Use the Force check exceeds the second target's Reflex Defense. Both targets take damage determined by your Use the Force check result. You may use Telekinesis to lift yourself, effectively levitating with movement speed determined by your check result.

"I am pleased with your progress, but I sense you have other places to be. Let us attend to your needs. I will join you."

~~Star Trek: TNG~~

Hego Damask sat at his desk, surrounded by stacks of data pads, his face twisted in concentration. He had been deep in his research on midichlorians, determined to unlock their secrets and gain power over the Force. His communicator beeped incessantly, his apprentice attempting to contact him, but he ignored it. His focus was unbreakable. That was until he felt a Force Presence enter the compound. One that shouldn't be possible. One that should be cut off from the Force. The presence of his former apprentice.

He rose from his chair, his expression unreadable. His connection to her had been severed years ago, and yet he could feel her presence unmistakably. His curiosity piqued, he strode out of his office, his long, flowing robes billowing behind him. He could sense a coldness in her that he had never felt before. A distance that spoke of a decade of independence from his teachings. He knew at that moment that she was not here to pay respects to her former master, but for something else entirely.

Tyson stepped into the Damask Holdings building, flanked by his new master Arren Kae, and approached the Toydarian representative who was waiting for him. The representative bowed low.

"Hello, hello, Tyson. I'm glad you could make it," the Toydarian said.

Tyson nodded. "A pleasure. I'm sure our mutual acquaintance let you know what I'm looking to purchase."

The representative gestured for them to sit and passed a tablet catalog. "We have a fine selection of parts and minerals, all of the highest quality from across the galaxy. What is it exactly that you are looking for?"

As Tyson began to discuss the specifics while quickly browsing the database, Kae stood back, observing the interaction between the two through the Force. Her new apprentice was not using the Force while haggling. It was a miracle she could sense the Force again. Her connection had been severed by an attack from her treacherous protégé. The thoughts of betrayal dancing through her head were interrupted when she sensed a subtle tension in the air, and it was not simply due to the negotiation taking place.

She could feel his presence in the building, and she suspected that he was keeping a watchful eye on them. Was it the Will of the Force that Tyson's contact was in this company of all the mega-corporations headquartered here?

For his part, Tyson was focused on the negotiation, his attention fixed on the Toydarian's words. As the discussion continued, Kae could feel a subtle shift in the Force, and she could feel him approaching. She kept her sightless gaze locked on the two men negotiating, but her mind was trying to anticipate what he might do or say.

Hego Damask strode into the conference room, his eyes scanning the figures before him. He didn't recognize the young man, but assumed it was 'Tyson'. The Muun used his corporate skills to browse the meeting details during his transit. The Toydarian representative had been in the middle of considering Tyson's more dubious purchases, but the moment the head of the organization arrived, everyone fell silent. His gaze then landed on the hooded woman next to Tyson. The tension in the air was palpable as if the very walls were straining to hear what he would say.

Hego Damask

"Jedi Master Arren Kae," Hego said, his voice tinged with surprise. "I thought you were gone from our world."

Arren smirked beneath her hood. "Things change, Hego. My student has brought me back."

Hego narrowed his eyes. "I assume this is your student?" he asked, gesturing towards Tyson. "And what has led you to take on an apprentice after all these years?"

Arren's sightless eyes gleamed with hidden meaning. "I did not seek him out. He found me. I hope to guide him as best as I can."

Hego's expression remained stoic, but his mind raced with suspicion. "And what of your old connections?"

Arren's lips twisted in a half-smile. "Who knows? I'm sure my previous acquaintances will seek me out soon, just as you have."

Hego nodded slowly, his eyes never leaving Kae's face. He knew there was more to her words than what she said aloud. But for now, he would bide his time and continue to play his role. "You seem to be seeking some materials and merchandise that require specific licenses and approvals, Mr. Tyson," Hego said, his voice calm but with an edge that made the room feel colder. He turned his attention to the Toydarian, "I thought our company policies were abundantly clear on abiding by Republic regulations."

Tyson opened his mouth to speak, but Hego raised a hand, cutting him off. "Do not worry yourself over intracompany regulations, Mr. Tyson."

There was a long moment of silence as Tyson fidgeted and the representative looked on nervously.

"Very well," Hego finally said, breaking the silence. "Given you're keeping the company of a master Jedi, I will approve your purchases. If I suspect any wrongdoing, Damask Holdings will disavow any business dealings with your party, and see to it that the authorities are notified."

Tyson nodded, relieved that the situation wasn't worse, but the tension in the room remained thick. Hego lingered for a moment longer, his eyes boring into Tyson's, before turning on his heel and exiting the room, his cloak billowing behind him like a dark cloud.

In the end, the transaction was successful, and Tyson left the building with his new parts and materials. As they walked away, Master Kae turned to Tyson. "Your negotiation skills are impressive, but be careful," she warned. "There are many dangers in the universe, search for those which are hidden, and be vigilant around those in the open."

Watto would be a happy man. Tyson's trip to Damask Holding netted him 3.3 million EC in commission. The Gamer couldn't be mad, he picked up nearly everything he could want on Coruscant in a single stop. But, there was another object he was seeking. Materials and starship parts were easy to come by in a galactic hub like the capital. The last thing he wanted was a creature, one native to a single planet in the Republic.

"Can you put me in touch with an exotic creature handler or pet store? I'll give you one million credits if you can find me a Ysalamiri within the next hour. I don't even need to purchase it, just hold it in person and extract some saliva… Oh and spit into this cup for me."

The Toydarian representative was more than happy to oblige. Tyson's commission was the largest he'd ever had from an individual purchaser, and a tip was icing on the cake. On a planet as large as Coruscant, you could find nearly anything if you had the right connections. If the guy wanted to add to his spit collection, what did it matter? All rich people had some oddity.

Tyson got to stick his hand in the lizard's mouth and harvest its saliva within the timeframe requested, and he and Master Kae returned to the spaceport to meet with the rest of the group.

Tyson was pissed. His last venture was a failure. He'd spent a million credits to find a Ysalamiri and another thousand to collect its spit. He'd sought out the creature because possess a special ability to nullify the Force around them. As far as Tyson's metaknowledge provided, they were the only creatures that could do so. The trait was easy enough to acquire with Power Eater, but it came with one caveat. Ysalamiri cannot control this ability, it's always active. And, if Tyson absorbed it, the same would apply to himself. He would lose the ability to Use the Force completely and in turn, would not be able to be affected by it. He'd just acquired his space-magic, he wasn't ready to give it up so soon. He rejected the Power Eater prompt and stored the remainder of the Ysalamiri spit vial inside his Inventory, just in case.

~~Star Trek: TNG~~

Palpatine stormed into his office and quickly strode to a corner, his eyes scanning over the hidden compartment that lay there. He knew he couldn't take any chances. It was not the first time he had been targeted by assassins, and he had learned long ago that one could never be too prepared. His fingers curled around a hilt, and he withdrew a lightsaber, igniting its glowing blue blade.

Satisfied that he was well-equipped, Palpatine made his way to Queen Amidala's quarters, his cloak billowing behind him. He needed to convince her to stay on Coruscant, to continue fighting for her people in the Senate. He could not let her return to Naboo, without her vote of no-confidence in the Chancellor. As he entered her chambers, he saw her belongings had been packed and she'd already departed.

Qui-Gon, Obi-Wan, and Anakin stood on the landing platform outside the ship, the wind whipping at their clothing. R2 whistled a happy tune as he leaned over the edge of the platform, watching the traffic below. Suddenly, he leaned over too far and fell over the edge, only to reappear moments later using his installed jets to propel himself back onto the landing platform.

Obi-Wan turns to Qui-Gon. "It is not disrespect, Master, it is the truth," he says with conviction.

Qui-Gon raises an eyebrow. "From your point of view," he responds with a hint of sarcasm in his voice.

"The boy is dangerous...they all sense it. Why can't you?" Obi-Wan presses.

"His fate is uncertain, not dangerous," Qui-Gon counters calmly. "The Council will decide Anakin's future...that should be enough for you." Obi-Wan reluctantly drops the conversation.

Qui-Gon approaches Anakin. "Master Qui-Gon, sir, I do not wish to be a problem," Anakin says earnestly.

"You won't be, Anakin," Qui-Gon assures him. "I'm not allowed to train you, so I want you to watch me and be mindful...always remember, your focus determines your reality. Stay close to me and you will be safe."

Tyson and Master Kae finally join the group, with Tyson appearing strangely unhappy. Kae, as usual, is stoic and mostly quiet.

Anakin speaks up, "Master, sir...I've been wondering...what are midichlorians?"

Master Kae scoffs, "Midichlorians? A biological explanation for the Force? How simplistic."

Qui-Gon turns to address Arren and Anakin in turn, "I understand your skepticism, but there is some truth to it. Midichlorians are microscopic life forms that reside within all living cells and communicate with the Force."

Arren snorts, "Communicate with the Force? What nonsense. The Force flows through all things, not just those with high midichlorian counts. Such an emphasis on the physical is a crutch for those who cannot grasp the true nature of the Force."

Qui-Gon regards Arren with a knowing look and she scoffs as Qui-Gon continues to explain to his ward the significance of midichlorians and their role in the Force.

"They live inside of me?" Anakin asks.

"In your cells. We are symbionts with the midichlorians," Qui-Gon explains. "Without them, life could not exist, and we would have no knowledge of the Force. They continually speak to you, telling you the will of the Force."

Anakin is amazed, "They do?"

"When you learn to quiet your mind, you will hear them speaking to you," Qui-Gon tells him.

"I don't understand," Anakin replies.

"With time and training, Annie...you will," Qui-Gon assures him.

As they continue to talk, two taxis pull up, and a group of people, including Queen Amidala, walk toward the ship. Amidala stops before the Jedi and speaks with Qui-Gon. "Your Highness, it is our pleasure to continue to serve and protect you," Qui-Gon says.

"I welcome your help. The Senate will likely be unable to assist us. I fear for my people, and my place is with them," Amidala replies.

Qui-Gon promises her, "I will not let harm come to you."

"Your Highness!" Palpatine shouted as he approached, causing them all to pause.

Stealth Check (DC: 29) = 30 Success

Tyson faded into the shadows created by the wings of the Nubian Starliner. Palpatine bowed deeply when he arrived, pleading, "I must implore you to reconsider. Stay here, and I will aid you in your quest for justice."

Amidala turned to him, her expression softening somewhat. "I appreciate your offer, Senator Palpatine, but I must return to my people. They need me."

"But the dangers, Your Highness," Palpatine protested. "You cannot return to Naboo without the protection of the Republic. The Trade Federation will not stop until they have what they want."

"I am well aware of the risks, Senator," Amidala replied calmly. "But my place is with my people. I will not abandon them."

Palpatine saw the determination in her eyes, and he knew that he would not be able to sway her. He bowed once more, "Very well, Your Highness. I wish you a safe journey."

Amidala and her handmaidens board the ship, followed by Jar Jar. As the group moves into the ship, and Jar Jar shouts, "Wesa goen home!"

Palpatine watched her go, his hand clasping into a fist of rage. His apprentice would drag the insolent child back here after killing her entire entourage. His will would not be denied.

Thievery Check (DC: 33) = 18 Major Failure!

Tyson had been given advice when he was a child, He couldn't remember if it was his middle school basketball coach, his friends talking about girls, or a Kobe Bryant misquote, but the advice he'd been given was, "You miss 100% of the shots you don't take." The Gamer used Palpatine's conversation with Amidala as an opportunity to sneak behind him. She entered the ship, the Jedi were still standing outside, and he took his shot. Tyson reached from his hidden position to brush Palpatine's sleeve.

His attempt to reach into the Senator's sleeve was unsuccessful, but where his Thievery skill failed, his most reliable power came through… Inventory. Palpatine's robes disappeared along with his shirt, the hidden forearm holster underneath, as well as the lightsaber stored within the holster.

Palpatine: Use the Force {Force Push} vs Tyson: Strength
33 vs 31 = Palpatine Success!

Now naked from the waist up, Sheev Palpatine lashed out at the Gamer. The senator's hands move in a blur. Tyson buckled as a wave of energy slammed into him, knocking him back several feet. He found his footing too late and stumbled off the platform into the Coruscant sky.

Use the Force {Telekinesis}: 4 Major Failure!
-1 Luck (1 remaining)
Use the Force {Telekinesis}: 21 Major Success!

Tyson went over the edge and immediately activated Telekinesis to keep himself from falling to his death; spending a Luck and Force Point in the process. Floating in the air out of sight gave him a chance to surprise Palpatine when he resurfaced. He accessed his Inventory, tossing HALO out to record and equipping his droideka shield backpack, Cortosis Longsword, and Vulcan Phaser.

Qui-Gon, ever the diplomat, tried to maintain a calm facade as he spoke to the Senator. "Senator, what was that? Is the Jedi Order aware that you're Force Sensitive? That use of the Force was... aggressive," his voice laced with concern.

Palpatine's smile was wide and disarming. "My apologies, Master Jedi. The heat of the moment got the best of me," he replied smoothly.

Obi-Wan was skeptical, his blue eyes narrowing as he studied the senator. "That was no mere use of the Force, Senator. I've seen adults who were overlooked as children access the Force, but that was... something more," he said firmly.

Qui-Gon nodded in agreement. "We are Jedi, Senator. We can tell the difference."

Palpatine's expression turned to one of feigned innocence. "I assure you, Jedi, I have never been trained in such... practices," he said, his hands held up in a placating gesture.

But Qui-Gon was still skeptical. "And yet, you knew exactly how to use them," he pointed out.

Obi-Wan spoke up again, his tone firm. "We demand an explanation, Senator."

Before Palpatine could try to further talk his way out of the situation, Tyson maintained his Telekinesis and rose back above the lip of the platform. He rose until his feet were higher than all the Jedi's heads. Then he accessed his Social skill to taunt the exposed Senator.

Social Check (DC: 38) = 41 Success.

"He's just upset because some bounty hunters ruined his plans."

It took a moment for Palpatine to put the pieces together. When the realization struck, he hissed in rage, "It was you!" Sparks danced around his fingertips as he released a bolt of Force Lightning at the floating padawan.

Tyson held his Cortosis sword in a guard position. The weapon, in conjunction with his shield, dissipated the malignant force energies. Still hovering, he fired his Vulcan phaser at the Sith.

Energy Weapon check (DC: 35) = 14 Critical Failure.
+1 Luck (2 Remaining)

The recoil of his phaser broke Tyson's focus and forced him out of the air. The Gamer landed back on the platform, ready to continue the fight.

Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan quickly sprang into action, drawing their lightsabers and engaging Palpatine in a fierce battle. Tyson, not wanting to be left out, joined in as well. The Gamer had underestimated the Sith Senator; he stole the man's lightsaber and robes but hadn't considered that he'd have more than one lightsaber on his person. The red Sith blade shimmered as it deflected the combined attacks of the Jedi.

It was clear that Palpatine was not going to be easily defeated. The Jedi were quickly overmatched. Tyson knew Palpatine was one of the most powerful Sith of all time, but he wasn't completely without a plan. His Empathy informed him of a pair of onlookers, and Observe confirmed their identities. He shouted, "I put out the bounty on Palpatine. If we can take him down, I'll ensure you're both paid the full amount!"

Social Check (DC: 30) = 35 Major Success!

The two infamous bounty hunters had been hidden in the shadows waiting for a moment to strike. With the knowledge they would both receive the bounty, they attacked Palpatine, entering the fray with blasters unloading on the surrounded Sith.

Tyson, invigorated by his new allies, turned to the only remaining non-combatant. "Master, could I convince you to help as well?"

"Ah, my young Padawan. So eager for battle, are you? But tell me, do you truly believe that I should intervene? Or do you seek validation for your own desires? Remember, the path of the Jedi is not one of violence but of contemplation and understanding."

Tyson snarks back, "I just thought you might enjoy a chance to save the galaxy."

"Save the galaxy? Such an act is a delusion. The galaxy will survive without any of us. It always has." Master Kae continued lecturing like there wasn't a battle happening, "I have no interest in saving the galaxy, young one. But if you are intent on battling a Sith Lord, I will not stand in your way. The consequences, however, will be yours to bear." The blind Jedi took a single step back from the battle.

~~Star Trek: TNG~~

Cad Bane, Qui-Gon Jinn, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and Jango Fett all launched themselves toward Palpatine, their minds focused on one goal: to bring down the Sith Lord. Their initial assault was a maelstrom of violence, as they unleashed a barrage of attacks upon Palpatine.

Cad Bane fired his blasters at Palpatine, the lethal beams of energy streaking toward the Sith Lord. But Palpatine was ready, and with a flick of his wrist, he deflected the shots with his lightsaber, the scorching bolts of energy harmlessly dissipating into the air.

Qui-Gon charged in next, his lightsaber a blur of light as he swung it in a graceful arc toward Palpatine. But the Sith Lord was too quick, parrying the blow with his own lightsaber and countering with a slash that struck the Jedi Master. Qui-Gon fell back, a hand covering the wound left by the lightsaber searing the flesh across his torso.

Undeterred, Obi-Wan Kenobi stepped up next, his lightsaber whirling as he launched a series of rapid strikes toward Palpatine. But the Sith blocked each strike with ease, his lightsaber humming with deadly energy.

Finally, Jango Fett unleashed a hail of blaster fire upon Palpatine. But once again, Palpatine was ready, deflecting each shot with his lightsaber and retaliating with a powerful blast of invisible Force energy that sent the bounty hunter reeling.

Despite their coordinated efforts, the Jedi and bounty hunters were unable to land a significant blow on the powerful Sith. Palpatine, on the other hand, had managed to strike two opponents, leaving them injured.

The air was thick with the acrid scent of blaster fire and the hum of lightsabers as Tyson entered the battle once again. Cad Bane unleashed another barrage of blaster fire, but this time he aimed for Palpatine's feet, hoping to throw the Sith Lord off balance. The tactic worked, and Palpatine stumbled slightly, his normally steady footing disrupted by the unexpected attack. Qui-Gon seized the opportunity, his lightsaber flashing as he struck the Sith; Obi-Wan Kenobi followed up with a series of rapid strikes, the hum of his lightsaber filling the air like a chorus of death. Jango Fett fired his wrist-mounted rocket towards Palpatine, the explosive missile streaking at the Sith unerringly guided by the faux-Mandalorian armor.

Palpatine was able to deflect most of the attacks, his lightsaber humming as he parried each strike with precision movements. But the rocket detonated when it made contact with his red blade. The low yield managed to graze his arm, causing him to wince in pain, a momentary weakness that the group seized upon.

Tyson had snuck up behind Palpatine and struck the Sith Lord with his Vulcan Phaser. The attack caught Palpatine off guard, his body jerking with the impact of the weapon. He spun around to face the Padawan, his eyes flashing with deadly intent as he prepared to unleash his wrath upon the new Jedi. But Tyson was quick on his feet, dodging out of the way just in time to avoid Palpatine's counterattack.

The combined efforts of the group were starting to wear down Palpatine, his body showing signs of weariness as he struggled to keep up with the relentless assault. But the Sith remained a formidable opponent, his eyes burning with dark energy as he prepared to unleash his own deadly assault upon his enemies.

The battle escalated into a violent maelstrom of flashing lightsabers, blasters, and force powers. Cad Bane and Jango Fett launched a coordinated attack, firing their blasters at Palpatine from opposite sides. Jango fired a line to tie up the Senator, but a slight gesture from the dark Jedi threw the snare off-course.

Despite the hail of blaster fire, Palpatine expertly deflected most of the shots, but a few lucky bolts managed to strike home. The Sith Lord staggered backward momentarily, a rare display of vulnerability that Qui-Gon seized upon. His lightsaber whirled through the air, striking Palpatine with a deep gash in his arm. Obi-Wan Kenobi followed up with a powerful strike, the plasma of his lightsaber singing through the air like a deadly hymn, but failing to penetrate the Senator's defenses. Tyson fired his Vulcan Phaser, the weapon striking Palpatine in the chest. The Gamer continued to hold his sword in guard, its low damage serving better to aid in dissipating energy attacks directed at him.

Enraged by the elder Jedi's successful attack, Palpatine unleashed a powerful blast of force lightning, the deadly energy coursing through the air with a crackling hum. The group managed to deflect some of the lightning with their lightsabers, but they were unable to evade the full force of the attack. Qui-Gon Jinn and Jango Fett fell to the ground, their bodies twitching from the shock. Tyson failed to raise his guard, and it seemed as if the lightning chained from all the others back into the Gamer. His shield offered some protection, but he still took significant damage. The battle was taking a heavy toll on both sides, each attack inflicting new wounds upon the combatants.

Cad Bane and Obi-Wan Kenobi flanked Palpatine, their weapons flashing as they launched a series of rapid strikes and blaster shots. The Senator blocked most of their attacks with downward fencing strikes and parries. Jango Fett joined in, firing his weapons at Palpatine from a distance, while Qui-Gon still recovered from the last Force Lightning attack. Tyson sneaked around the battlefield, his eyes scanning for an opportunity to strike.

Palpatine was quick to respond, deflecting most of the attacks, but he was unable to avoid Tyson's sneak attack, the gamer striking him from behind. The Sith stumbled, leaving himself open for a brief moment. Obi-Wan seized the opportunity, his lightsaber flashing through the air as he struck Palpatine with a powerful blow to the thigh. The Sith Lord recoiled from the impact, his body wracked with pain. But despite the strike, he remained standing, his eyes burning with dark energy. Enraged by the attack, Palpatine unleashed a second massive blast of force lightning, the deadly energy coursing through the air like a crackling storm. The successive use of Force LIghting caught the group off guard. Cad Bane and Jango Fett fell to the ground, their bodies twitching uncontrollably from the shock. Tyson remained standing but again seemed to be the convergence point for the split lightning. Qui-Gon Jinn managed to deflect some of the lightning with their weapons, the Jedi's body trembling from the effort. Obi-Wan retreated after his strike and was able to avoid the lightning altogether.

The group of Jedi fought with a renewed fervor, knowing that this could be their last chance to defeat the fearsome Sith. They moved more carefully with the bounty hunters down. Qui-Gon Jinn and Obi-Wan Kenobi charged at Palpatine, their lightsabers striking out while Tyson followed up with covering fire from his Vulcan Phaser. The Sith was starting to show signs of fatigue and weakness, his defenses cracking under the relentless assault.

Unsurprisingly, Palpatine unleashed another massive blast of force lightning. Qui-Gon Jinn and Obi-Wan Kenobi had never fought Sith previously and had little defense against Palpatine's physical manifestation of the Force. Their bodies writhed in agony as they fell to the ground. Tyson managed to deflect some of the lightning with his sword, but he was still hit by the blast, his shield unable to absorb the full force of the attack.

Now the lone standing fighter, Tyson charged at Palpatine, his sword flashing toward the Sith. Palpatine parried the blow with his lightsaber, not recognizing the weapon was laced with Cortosis. The Senator was left completely vulnerable when his lightsaber blade disappeared. Scoring a gash across his chest then following up, Tyson fired his Vulcan Phaser point-blank hitting Palpatine in the chest a second time. The Sith Lord dropped to a knee, his body wracked with pain, but he regained his feet.

Tyson knew that this could be their final chance to defeat Senator Palpatine. Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan struggled to stand, their injuries from the previous round still weighing heavily on them. But they refused to give up. Tyson charged at Palpatine. Revealing the Cortosis sword, his trump card, forced the Sith to dodge instead of attempting to deflect the strike with his own blade. But Tyson had closed the distance and the following shot from his phaser hit Palpatine in the face. The Sith Lord was left blinded, dazed, and disoriented.

Seizing the opportunity, Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan struck Palpatine with their lightsabers. The Sith grunted in pain as he was hit in the chest and shoulder, his defenses finally giving way under the relentless assault. Tyson followed up with a final shot from his Vulcan Phaser. The blast hit Palpatine in the chest once again, with the force of the impact knocking him back toward the edge of the platform.

For a moment, it seemed as if the Sith Lord might still be able to regain his footing and continue fighting. But then, with a final gasp, he fell off the platform, his body disappearing from sight as it barrelled down into the depths of Coruscant. The group of Jedi breathed a sigh of relief, their bodies trembling from the intensity of the battle.

But Tyson knew better. In Star Wars, if you had the Force, you never died from falling.

AN: Longest chapter to date, so it'll be 2 weeks between updates so I can keep ahead. Those of you who like longer chapters should be satisfied as the remainder of the episode will be even longer than this.

One of the big complaints that I've gotten has been that Tyson doesn't actually do anything, he sticks to the script. It's a fair criticism. Up to this point, I wasn't confident enough as an author to break continuity in a believable and entertaining manner. But now that I have, what do you think?

For Reviewers: It's a week late, but enjoy the Easter Egg hunt. I'm really looking forward to seeing what you pick up on and what your predictions are for the next part in the reviews.

Speaking of the next part... Our mysterious romantic interest will finally be revealed! Care to hazard another guess at who it will be?

Things I'm really looking for feedback on:

The Combat - Mass combat is fun but sucks ass to manage all the rolls and HP, I decided to go with minimal Gaming for this one. Did you like it, or prefer to see the rolls? With more than 3 combatants it's not feasible, but do you prefer just health reporting going forward?

Long Format - This episode was around 12k words so it'll be two weeks between. Episodes 5.7, 5.8, 6, and 7 are all between 15-20k pre-editing which puts 3 weeks between each. I'm kinda liking the longer chapters and planning to stick with it, thoughts?

Multiple PoVs - As this is Tyson's story, I usually stick to his perspective. I do this under the assumption that most of my readers are fans and know the backstory, so I don't have to fill in all the gaps. In this chapter I jumped around a lot, mostly because I was having fun fucking with Palpatine, but did you like it? Do you want to see more of what goes on away from Tyson's PoV?
