48 years ago in Palutena's temple, before everything all began, Palutena was busy making preparations for a celebration. "Oh boy! This is going to be great!" she laughed, happily. "I can't wait to see the little baby once she brings her in!" Just then, she heard footsteps coming closer to her. Those footsteps came from Medusa. "What are you doing, sis?" she asked. "I'm making a celebration party for Gaia," Palutena explained. "I've heard exciting news that we're going to have a new baby goddess to the family! It's going to be great! I'm almost done with everything, so how about you go ahead and bring everyone together for the big day?" "Of course, Palutena," said Medusa. "I'll go ahead and gather everyone for the big party." She then left while Palutena continued making preparations. "This is exciting! A new goddess is going to be part of the family!" she yelped in excitement. "I'm so happy for you, Gaia. I can't wait to see the little infant."
A few hours later, the celebration party preparations were complete and everybody was gathered around to see the new baby goddess. "I'm quite excited for this," said Arlon. "A new goddess will be here." Cragalanche nodded in agreement. "I am too," said Palutena. "Oh boy! I just can't wait to see the little infant's face!" "Oh, Palutena, you never change, do you?" Medusa giggled. "You are still the same sister I know and love." Suddenly, the centurions and angels started clapping when Gaia approached slowly to her throne. Her sisters, Arlon, and Cragalanche moved aside for Gaia to sit down at her throne. "Thank you all for coming together for the big news," she announced. "I'm very happy to welcome a new goddess for our family. Take a good look at my little daughter." Everybody leaned closer to see the little baby goddess. She had light, supple, dewy pale skin, cute hazel eyes as she opened them up, and long blonde hair. "Meet my little baby daughter," Gaia continued. "I named her Viridi. She will become the new Goddess of Nature to take my spot at the day I die." "She's so adorable!" Palutena gasped in awe. "I wish for Viridi to bring peace and happiness for Nature and humanity. After all, the home planet needs to become very green and filled with lots of animals and other living creatures." "I agree with you, Palutena," Medusa agreed. "I wish for Viridi to be a mighty protector and skilled warrior to protect Nature form evil and be good daughter to you, Gaia." "I really appreciate your wishes, my dear sisters," said Gaia. "I hope that my lovely daughter will be just like me in the future. I want Nature itself to be beautiful with all the lovely flowers, happy animals, and running waters." "I'm very happy to see the next Goddess of Nature, Lady Gaia," said Arlon. "Once she grows up, she'll be the most lovely goddess after you." Cragalanche nodded in agreement as he gently patted the baby's head, making her giggle. "Thank you, Arlon and Cragalanche," Gaia thanked. "Now isn't that just sweet," said a new voice. "My my. I'm quite proud of you. But I'm also disappointed you didn't invite me to your celebration!" Suddenly, Underworld monsters appeared and attacked everyone out of surprise. "Oh no! It's the Underworld army!" Palutena gasped. "Who dares to interrupt our precious celebration?!" Medusa yelled. "Why, little miss Medusa, it's none other than yours truly, of course," said the one behind the invasion. "Hades!" the Goddess Sisters exclaimed. "What ever are you doing here?!" said Arlon. "It's very rude of you to drop by unannounced." "Why I'm here to enjoy the party," Hades replied. "Since you didn't invite me to it, I'm hosting my own. And let me tell you, this is the best invasion party I ever had!" "You better leave right now!" Medusa yelled. "I won't hesitate to turn you into stone!" "Oh my! What a feisty little goddess," said Hades. "Minions! Take her away! She'll be a good puppet of mine!" Suddenly, the Underworld monsters swarmed around Medusa and took her closer to Hades. "Medusa!" Palutena and Gaia exclaimed. "Let go of me, you Underworld monster!" Medusa yelled at Hades. "My my. You really are a cute one," said the Underworld ruler. "I think I shall have you as my queen." He then used his powers to corrupt Medusa as his puppet and second leader of the Underworld army. "Ah, Lord Hades. It will be my honor to serve you and your minions," said the (now) Goddess of Darkness. "Excellent. Now let's continue with the party!" said Hades as more and more Underworld monsters appeared around Angel Land. "Quick! Evacuate everyone!" Palutena ordered. "We must keep our residents, and the baby goddess, safe! Me and my army will hold them off!" Palutena then sent out her guard to hold back the Underworld army while the other angels evacuated to a safe place. Gaia, Cragalanche, and Arlon were about to leave, with Baby Viridi still with them, until Gaia noticed something coming from down below. "What is this?!" she exclaimed. She saw humans in the Overworld harming Nature itself by either cutting down trees or hunting down animals. She then turned to Palutena and yelled, "Palutena! Explain yourself for this madness!" "G-Gaia! I-I don't think you should do something like this!" Palutena stuttered. "I don't even WANT to call you 'sister' anymore!" Gaia argued. "You are a disgrace to our family name! I feel shame on you for protecting mankind while they continue with their crimes! I'm leaving! Arlon and Craglanche, we need to go! Take my daughter with me as well! I don't want to see her disgusting face ever again!" "B-But Lady Gaia-" Arlon started. "RIGHT NOW!" Gaia ordered. "Forgive me, Lady Palutena," Arlon apologized as he scooped up Baby Viridi in his arms and, along with Cragalanche and Gaia, left the temple. "Oh my. Look how the sisters have separated," said Hades. "Looks like we have to leave as well. We got to make preparations for the big one." "See you soon, Palutena," Medusa chuckled, sinisterly, as she and Hades left the temple as well. "This is not good!" Palutena exclaimed. "The War of Chaos is about to begin. It pains me to do this, but I have to fend off both of my sisters. I'm sorry to do this, Medusa and Gaia, but you leave me no other choice. I have to do this to protect Angel Land and Skyworld, even if it means fighting against my only sisters." She then left to prepare herself for the outcome of what will happen. Destruction in a war will begin, and someone is going to have a bloodlust killing rampage.

Now that was seriously a dark moment for a backstory. As you know, that was where the First War of Chaos all began. The war between the Three Goddess Sisters, leading their own armies during all of that.
