Star Trek: The Next Gamer
Episode 10: The Automated Repair Facility
Stardate: 41332.5.
Earth Standard Date: May 1, 2364.
Location: The Scimitar, Delphic Expanse - Enterprise Instant Dungeon (October 8, 2153) via USS Enterprise-D.
The Jedi returned to Korriban and T'Pol departed with the Vulcans to find Enterprise. Tyson and the R2 astromech droid were transported to the Scimitar which now hovered in space. Before she left, T'Pol had managed to decipher the coordinates Tyson had inquired about days earlier. The astromech plotted a course out of the Delphic Expanse, leading them toward Romulan space. Using T'Pols location, they set a course for the Automated Repair Station.
The Automated Repair Facility was a highly advanced, self-sustaining space station designed to perform maintenance and repairs on starships. It was first encountered by Archer's Enterprise hence why T'Pol knew its location. The unmanned station offered efficient and convenient services, but its true purpose was far more sinister. Unbeknownst to those who used it, the facility secretly harvested sentient beings by capturing them, staging an accident, then siphoning their life energy to power its advanced systems. The facility would leave a replicated body to fool the unsuspecting crews. This dark secret was hidden within the station's computer core, which was off-limits to visitors. The station didn't always abduct from the crews using the station to maintain the illusion of a helpful and innocuous repair station.
The Scimitar's ion engines hummed to life. Even moving at 'sublight', the ship was far faster than anything in the Star Trek Universe. So fast, it put even the Enterprise-D to shame. The D's max speed was warp 9.5. The Scimitar's current position in the Delphic expanse was 50 light years from Romulan space. It'd take the Enterprise-D 11 days at maximum warp to cover that distance, which it couldn't do because the engines could only handle max speed for 12 hours. The Scimitar with its ion engines and Temporal shields only took 6 hours and 43 minutes, a speed approximately equivalent to Warp 9.99965.
The Scimitar coasted into the system of the Automated Repair Station. The crew of the Enterprise had tried their damnedest to destroy the thing, but no sooner had they vacated the premises than the station had simply shrugged off the damage and started repairing itself. It was like something out of one of those old pulp sci-fi stories: a ghostly, autonomous entity that kept coming back for more, no matter what the heroes threw at it. And now, here it was again, pristine as ever and ready for business.
Tyson understood all too well the perils of meddling with the Automated Repair Station. He approached knowing the station was a promise of salvation for a price. The Gamer transported over to the battered D'Kyr, storing the Scimitar away. He'd given T'Pol and the Vulcans his quest-reward D'kyr ship, and taken the damaged one they recently removed from the Trelluim asteroid field. Though he came to the station with a different purpose, he would still exploit its services. Tyson navigated the crippled vessel to the entrance of the Automated Repair Station drydock.
As Tyson approached, a communication channel opened, and a synthesized, mechanical voice echoed through the D'Kyr's comms. "Welcome to the automated repair facility. Our database indicates that your vessel has sustained damage to its structural integrity, hull, and propulsion systems. We are capable of conducting a comprehensive repair of your vessel in 36.2 hours. The cost for these services has been calculated at 200 liters of warp plasma."
The message, while seemingly innocuous, still carried an undercurrent of unease. Tyson knew the dangers the repair station posed. The Gamer piloted the damaged D'Kyr cautiously into the Automated Repair Facility, wary of the potential threat it hid. As he guided the vessel into position, an intricate web of robotic arms, tools, and devices sprang to life. The repairs were executed precisely and efficiently, but with every clank and whir of the machinery, Tyson's apprehension grew. He remained vigilant, his senses on high alert, and his hand never strayed far from his weapon. The station's sinister nature and unknown origin only fueled the sense of unease that pervaded its atmosphere. He knew all too well the hidden dangers that had befallen others who'd come seeking aid. But he steeled himself for whatever might transpire during the repairs.
As the automated systems worked tirelessly on the D'Kyr, Tyson kept a watchful eye on the progress, prepared to act at the first sign of trouble. The hours stretched on, each passing moment filled with tension and uncertainty, until finally, the repairs were nearing completion.
Ignoring the warnings and potential dangers, Tyson ventured into the heart of the Automated Repair Facility, intent on exploring the off-limits computer core. He knew that accessing the core was key to understanding the station's secrets and possibly gaining an advantage in his future endeavors. He approached the heavily fortified entrance to the core. Tyson drew on his Computers skill to unlock the door and gain entry.
As Tyson entered the computer core, he revealed its horrifying secret: the Automated Repair Facility was harvesting sentient beings. The sight was gruesome, with rows upon rows of captured creatures suspended on simple metal grates, their life energy being siphoned off to power the facility's advanced systems.
The Gamer moved to the nearest access console and utilized his Computers skill to begin gathering information and hacking the Automated Repair Facilities systems.

Drawback Activated: Hunted by the Light and Dark!
A large blue screen popped up in Tyson's interface, nearly blocking his entire field of view.

In the core room of the automated repair facility, the very fabric of reality seemed to shatter. Time came to a screeching halt, and the world around Tyson froze in place. He gained the Immobilized and Helpless status effects. Tyson's heart pounded in his chest. If he was attacked in his current status, he'd be easily killed.
Compensating….
Compensation Failed….
Contacting System Administrator…
A familiar voice echoed through the frozen core room. Q's voice dripped with irritation as it pierced the silence. "Not now, I'm busy!" And then, nothing…
The words sent chills down Tyson's spine. Panic began stirring in Tyson's being. He remained powerless to move, trapped within his own frozen form.
He remained in that frozen state for an unknown amount of time. Each moment stretched forever, it could have been an hour or a day. Desperation clawed at the edges of his mind, threatening to drown him in despair as he remained captive in the merciless grip of the System Error.
Contacting System Sub-Administrator…
As Tyson's despair peaked, he heard something unexpected. A sultry voice whispered in his ear from inches away. It wasn't Q, but it was a Q. Lady Q. Her tone was mocking and condescending as she cooed at him like a helpless infant. "Aww, what's the matter, little one? Feeling trapped?"
She spun him around like he was hanging from a string. She pinched his cheeks and said, "The way you struggle is just. So. Cute!"
Lady Q stepped back and snapped her fingers, pulling up Tyson's character sheet for her to look over. She raised a curious eyebrow, and a sly smile played on her lips. "My, my, look at this Use the Force skill you have," she mused, her tone teasing. "It's like watching a toddler wielding a gun – completely misunderstanding and endearingly clumsy." She kept reading, not commenting again until she reached his perks. "Well, Well, aren't you just full of surprises? Power Eater and Master with Your Hands? Naughty, naughty, but at least you know how to treat a lady."
The Gamer was getting whiplash at how quickly Q was switching between being flirty and treating him like a baby. With a flick of her wrist, the invisible shackles that bound him shattered. Tyson stumbled, momentarily disoriented, as time resumed its natural flow. Lady Q was tall for a woman, around 6 feet. Even though Tyson outsized her, the Q's presence loomed ominously over him and her eyes gleamed with cruel amusement.
"Let's see what we have here, shall we?" she purred. A predatory grin spread across her lips as she examined the error code that had ensnared Tyson. Her fingers traced unseen patterns as she scrutinized the data before her. "You've made quite a mess of things, haven't you?" Lady Q taunted
Tyson hesitated before responding to Lady Q, "Yes, ma'am."
Lady Q's expression darkened as her eyes narrowed, her countenance turning ominous. "What did you just say?" she asked, her voice dripping with barely restrained malice.
Swallowing hard, Tyson mustered the courage to repeat himself. "Yes, ma'am," he said, oblivious to the brewing storm.
A twisted snarl formed on Lady Q's lips as her anger surged, and her voice thundered in the confined space. "How dare you address me as 'ma'am'? Do I look like some frail, aging mortal to you?"
Tyson's blood turned cold as he realized his mistake. The air in the room seemed to thicken, the weight of Lady Q's wrath pressed down on him like a suffocating force. Was this the feeling of the fabled 'killing intent'? He shrank back, desperately trying to find a way to appease the angered cosmic being before him.
With a disdainful sigh, Lady Q shifted her focus back to Tyson's error message. The heaviness in the air dissipated, but her attitude toward him was noticeably altered. "Very well, you ignorant, rude little child, let's see if I can salvage this mess you've made," she said, her voice oozing condescension.
As she examined the error codes, she shook her head disapprovingly. Tyson clenched his fists, feeling a mixture of embarrassment and indignation at Lady Q's words. However, he was painfully aware of his current vulnerability and dependence on her assistance. He forced himself to remain silent, even as she continued to belittle him.
Lady Q looked down at Tyson, adopting a tone one would use to explain something to a small child. "Alright, dear, let me break this down for you in simple terms that even you can understand. You see, that little Drawback of yours was only meant to work in the universe where you earned it, or in your default setting. Those nasty individuals hunting you don't have the means to reach you here." She waved her hand dismissively, continuing, "Furthermore, it wasn't designed to function outside of the normal timeline. You've managed to find yourself not only in a different universe but also in a sub-dimension and the past of an alternate timeline. Quite the impressive feat, really, for someone who obviously has no idea what they're doing."
Tyson's frustration grew as Lady Q spoke down to him, but he knew better than to interrupt her. He tried to focus on the information she was providing, hoping that it would lead to a solution for his predicament or insight into the system that controlled him.
Lady Q's eyes lit up with mischief, and a sinister smile spread across her face. "Ah, I have the perfect solution for you! Whenever your perk activates, if none of the creatures hunting you can reach you, I'll just make it so that whatever enemies are nearby get turned into Sith! Problem solved!"
Tyson's brow furrowed as he considered her answer. At first, it seemed like it could work, but as the implications of her 'solution' dawned on him, he realized it was a terrible idea.
"Wait a minute," Tyson said, trying to keep his voice steady. "That's not a good solution at all. It would just create chaos. There has to be a better way." Tyson's eyes widened in alarm at the thought. "Wait, what if I were near a bunch of Borg drones when this happens? Would they all become Force-sensitive? That would be disastrous!"
Lady Q smirked, her eyes glinted with amusement. "Oh, what an interesting possibility! Just imagine the chaos of Force-sensitive Borg roaming the galaxy, green lightsabers would match their aesthetic perfectly! I must say, that would be quite the spectacle." Then she squinted and wiggled her finger at him, "Oooh! But you shouldn't know about the Borg yet. You're not just a naughty boy, you're a cheater too. You deserve to be punished."
Lady Q surveyed the dimly lit core room with a twisted grin. "Ah, I see now…" Her discerning eye deduced Tyson's intentions. "You planned to snatch up this station, sacrifice it, and unlock the Starport or Starbase facility. Clever boy. Plus, a Legendary Power Source would be a perfect complement. Maybe you're not as dense as I initially thought. After I saw that you restored over a hundred lives and reintroduced those who were meant to die back into the timeline, then gave them the technology they shouldn't possess for at least another hundred years, I thought man this kid's hopeless. But now I wonder if maybe you intentionally wanted to establish yourself as a power in the Temporal Cold War. Time will tell... Let's proceed, shall we?"
Tyson's eyes widened in alarm, and he blurted out, "Wait!"
Lady Q cocked her head, amusement dancing in her eyes as she gazed at the apprehensive Tyson. "Wait? Whatever for? Your plan has a touch of genius."
Tyson shifted nervously, as he considered the Q's truth bomb. But his priority was trying to reason with the unpredictable entity. "Well, you see, I took a quick look at the core terminal before you showed up. It seems this station feeds off of 'souls' or some kind of energy generated by sentient beings that I don't quite understand. I planned to remove the core and maybe interface it with another one, like the Asymmetrical Positronic Core I created."
Lady Q's eyes gleamed with mischief as her lips curled into a devilish grin. "Oh? That would make it far more convenient if you care about the morality of feeding it lesser beings. But don't you consume lesser beings for sustenance?" Lady Q's mischievous smile twisted into something far more sinister. "Well, it doesn't matter. You should have thought of that before you got yourself caught in a fatal error… and insulted me," she hissed.
With a wave of her hand, the error code dissipated, and Lady Q's laughter echoed through the core room. "Do try to be more careful in the future, dear," she warned, her voice as cold as ice. "I won't always be around to save you from your own folly."
She snapped her fingers and Tyson felt an indescribable shift in the fabric of reality. It was as if the very threads of the universe were being unraveled and rewoven around him, leaving him with a chilling sense of vulnerability. And then, in a blinding flash of light, Lady Q was gone, leaving Tyson alone in the core room of the automated repair facility. The eerie silence that followed her departure only heightened his growing sense of unease, and the implications of her words weighed heavily on his mind.
Drawback Activated: Q and You!
In the Automated Repair Facility's core room, the bodies suspended on racks, connected by a tangled web of wires and tubes, began to stir. Their limbs twitched as if waking from a long slumber. As they started to rise, Tyson couldn't help but feel a sense of dread at the sight before him. The facility's victims were an unsettling collection of different races. Among the multitude, Tyson immediately picked out a Vaadwaur and a Ferengi that were distinctly recognizable – their unique features were unmistakable even in their current state. The Vaadwaur's elongated skulls and facial ridges lent them an eerie, otherworldly appearance. Romulans were the most numerous, with their pointed ears and V-shaped forehead ridges, they looked like twisted, sinister versions of their former selves. All the rising creatures shared the same pallid, lifeless flesh. As the bodies stood, the cables and tubes that connected them to the facility imbued their marionettes with a malevolent purpose. The wires connecting to the puppets held them in a macabre embrace, binding them to the will of the Automated Repair Facility. Their eyes, once filled with the light of life, were now empty, evidence of their enslavement to the malevolent machinery that controlled them.
Replicator units inset into the walls began producing metallic cylinders. By the time Tyson realized they were lightsabers, it was too late. The animated bodies used the Force to summon the deadly weapons to their hands, the unmistakable hum of their blades igniting echoed ominously throughout the chamber. Their stares were cold and distant; their minds were lost to the power of the Automated Repair Facility that had taken control of them.
Surrounded by this new, horrifying threat, Tyson experienced a moment of peculiar clarity. As he narrowly dodged a deadly strike, he realized that all the lightsabers wielded by his attackers shared the same hue of blue as the one he had sacrificed at the Altar on Korriban. The uncanny similarity sparked a troubling thought: Could the Automated Repair Facility already be connected to his planet?
As the uncomfortable idea took root in his mind, Tyson knew he couldn't afford to dwell on it for long. Survival was his top priority, and he needed to focus on the immediate threat bearing down on him. With a practiced motion he equipped his lightsabers, their blades sprang to life with a familiar hum.

Trait: Rapid Strike.
Dark Presence: You grant yourself and all allies within 30 ft. of you a +1 Force bonus to all Defenses until the end of the encounter.
Though his enemies were numerous, Tyson's skills with the lightsaber were up to the task. The problem was their Dark Presence ability; individually, the puppets weren't tough, but there were nearly three dozen of them in the core area, granting a massive defense bonus.
The Gamer found himself beset on all sides by the menacing, puppet-like creatures controlled by the Facility. Surrounded, eight adversaries with eyes void of emotion, brandished azure lightsabers. Tyson met their assault with his crimson blades, one of which bore the unmistakable phrick coating of his Legendary lightsaber. The ensuing battle was a whirlwind of flashing lights and clashing blades, a chaotic maelstrom that filled the air with the hiss and crackle of plasma. Tyson's defense matched the attackers' onslaught, his red sabers parried and deflected each strike.
His attempted retaliation failed. The internal sensors of the Facility and the calculating eyes of its puppets saw through his every move. The shared intelligence and perception guided the puppets' defenses. It was like they knew his movements and targets the moment he committed.
Blades of blue and red clashed and sparked in a never-ending torrent. Tyson realized that victory was unattainable, the battle was a complete stalemate. His eyes darted across the room, seeking a route of egress, but he was wholly surrounded. The only way out was… up. The core room's high ceiling offered a glimpse of hope. With a surge of inspiration, Tyson unfurled his wings and ascended rapidly, leaving the throng of Force Puppets below.
The sudden change in tactics caught his enemies off guard, but they were quick to seize the opportunity presented by his retreat. The blue lightsabers lashed out like vipers, aiming for the fleeing Gamer. However, none found their mark, as Tyson's exceptional reflexes and parrying blades deflected each blow.
Upon reaching the door, Tyson refused to slow down. He rushed through the Automated Repair Facility, leaving the eerie core room behind him. His wings carried him down a long hallway. The Gamer focused on creating distance between himself and his pursuers. Observe had informed him that the Force Puppets' Dark Presence bonuses were limited to allies within a 30-foot radius, so he planned to spread them out in the hope of weakening their coordinated defense.
Tyson positioned himself strategically in the doorway at the end of the corridor. As the Force Puppets continued their pursuit, the cables and tubes attached to them seemed to magically lengthen, undoubtedly some sort of replicator trickery at play.
The narrow hallway became Tyson's saving grace. It bottlenecked his adversaries, forcing them to stand only three abreast. This significantly limited the number of Puppets that could engage him directly, making the battle more manageable. Moreover, the tight formation meant that each Puppet only received bonus defenses from 21 of their allies, as opposed to the overwhelming power they shared in the core room. With a renewed sense of purpose, Tyson prepared to face the approaching crowd. His narrowed eyes and firm grip on his lightsabers betrayed his readiness for the incoming battle. The odds were still daunting, but Tyson had faced seemingly insurmountable challenges before, and he would not back down now.
Tyson's strategy proved effective. As the first Puppet entered his range, he expertly wielded his two lightsabers, striking the foe down with two swift attacks from each blade. The Puppet crumpled to the ground, its lifeless body severed from the artificial control of the Automated Repair Facility. Without skipping a beat, Tyson quickly adjusted to face the next Puppet in line. His body moved fluidly, blocking and parrying incoming attacks with precision and skill. Just moments later, he found another opening, swiftly striking down the second Puppet with a similar combination of his red plasma blades.
As Tyson faced the third Puppet, he decided to try a different tactic. Rather than attacking the Puppet directly, he focused on the wires that connected it to the Automated Repair Facility. With a swift slash of his lightsaber, he severed the cables, effectively "killing" the Puppet as it lost control and slumped to the floor. Tyson felt a brief moment of triumph, believing he had found a new way to defeat his foes. However, as he shifted his attention to the next set of Puppets, he noticed that the previously disconnected Puppet was suddenly reanimated. New wires emerged from the facility, reattached themselves to the fallen creature, and forced it back into the fray. The grim realization set in that this new tactic, while momentarily successful, would not yield lasting results. It might buy him a little space if he needed to retreat, but Tyson grit his teeth and prepared for the prolonged battle against the seemingly endless horde of Force Puppets.
During the second wave of Force Puppets, he decapitated one of the Puppets, causing blood to splatter across his face. This exposure triggered his Power Eater perk, which momentarily drew his focus to his interface.
Tyson leaned into his connection to the Force. He allowed this heightened connection to guide his defensive movements, expertly blocking and evading the relentless barrage of lightsaber strikes from his enemies. Simultaneously, he directed his attention to the possible bonuses offered by the dead enemy, searching for something that would provide a significant advantage in this endless battle. He finally selected a bonus that he believed would help him turn the tide of the fight.
Perk Activated: Power Eater!
Rapid Strike
When using a weapon which you have a skill for, you may take a -2 penalty on your attack roll, but deal +1 die of damage with a successful attack.
As the bonus took effect, Tyson felt a surge of newfound strength when attacking his targets. He dove back into the fray, now able to defeat the Puppets with three strikes instead of four. The battlefield became a blur as Tyson's enhanced focus and abilities took over. In the first minute after acquiring the new perk, he cut through the Puppets with ruthless precision. His lightsabers danced in a deadly ballet, their crimson blades leaving a trail of destruction in their wake. Each swing of his weapon found its mark, cutting down Puppets one after another. The bodies fell to the floor, lifeless and severed from their controlling wires. But Tyson didn't let up; he knew that any hesitation could mean his defeat.
In the heat of battle, Tyson was momentarily caught off guard by the sudden retreat of the Puppets. They moved with a unity and purpose that seemed unnatural. Their rapid withdrawal reminded him of his encounter with Lore on the Enterprise. The Puppets pulled back in unison, their blue lightsabers vanishing as they retreated.
Tyson stood unsure in the corridor. He was prepared to face more enemies, but their abrupt withdrawal left him with a sense of unease. He knew that letting his guard down now could be a fatal mistake, so Tyson remained vigilant. His red lightsabers were still ignited and casting an eerie glow on the walls of the corridor. The Puppets' retreat was a tactical move, he was sure of it, but what was their endgame?

Tyson could feel the oxygen rapidly leaving the room as the Automated Repair Facility vented the atmosphere outside the core room, in its latest attempt to defeat Tyson. He smirked, remembering when he employed a similar strategy when facing a superior opponent in Palpatine. Suddenly, he had an idea.
Tyson pretended to struggle and lose consciousness. He slumped over and lay still on the ground. The Gamer suppressed his Force Presence as a precaution.
The facility's sensors detected his apparent unconsciousness and allowed the oxygen to be restored. As the room filled with breathable air once again, the facility sent its Puppets to bring the unconscious invader to the core room for integration.
Tyson lay still as the Puppets carried him into the corridor of the Automated Repair Facility which led to the core room. He kept his eyes closed and his breathing slow and steady, giving no indication that he was awake. When the puppets seemed unaware, Tyson suddenly sprang up, his lightsabers activated in his hands. The Puppets were taken aback for a moment, but quickly recovered and swarmed towards him, their blue lightsabers engaging in the dim light. Tyson's red blades whirled through the air as he parried and blocked the attacks of the Puppets. His movements were precise, each strike calculated to take down his opponents with maximum efficiency. Despite their superior numbers, the Puppets were no match for Tyson's skill with a lightsaber. One by one, they fell to his assault, their bodies clanging to the ground as he sliced through them with ease.
The Puppets stood their ground, defying his expectations. They held glowing blue blades defensively as they braced for Tyson's attack. Tyson hadn't expected them to stay and fight, but his opponents stood their ground.
The Force whispered to him, warning him of an impending danger. He had no time to react as the starship repair arm of the Automated Repair Facility burst through the wall, unleashing a violent decompression in the hallway. Tyson felt himself being pushed towards the breach. He dug his feet into the floor, using his Strength and the Force to anchor himself in place. The Puppets braced themselves and worked together to prevent being blown into the void of space.
Starship Repair Arm
100 Dematerialization Damage (Unresistable)
The claw at the end of the facility's starship repair arm reached toward Tyson. Everything it touched was removed from existence as it was broken down into its molecular components and converted into energy. The surrounding area was bathed in a sickly blue glow as it carved a path to Tyson.
Tyson strained as he reached out to halt the clawed arm of the facility. He attempted to Use the Force on the arm, But it was an extension of the station, a limb of the mile-long behemoth he was trying to fight against. He couldn't grasp the arm with his Force powers without holding the entire facility within his grip. The repair station was 1,000 meters long, a feat even for the most powerful Force users in the galaxy.
As Tyson focused, the arm slowed down and then stopped its deadly approach. He held the entire station within his Force Grip. The strain was immense, but with every passing second his grip tightened and the station's resistance faltered.
The puppets charged at Tyson. The station was faltering under Tyson's Telekinesis, it needed the puppets to shatter his focus and loosen his grip. Their movements were coordinated, each puppet flowing seamlessly into the next as if they were a single entity. Tyson could feel the Force pushing against him, trying to disrupt his hold on the station, but he refused to yield. His grip on the station tightened, and he felt the power of the Force surge through him. With a sudden burst of energy, he sent a shockwave through the station, knocking the puppets off their feet and throwing them back. The station shuddered and groaned under the strain, but Tyson held fast.
The puppets slowly picked themselves up, ready to renew the attack, but it was too late. Tyson held the station firm. The repair arm and the rest of the station were under his control and he was ready to continue the fight.
The Puppets lunged towards Tyson with reckless abandon, hoping to break his hold on the station or drag him through the hull fracture into the void of space. But Tyson remained steadfast, using the Force to maintain his grip on the facility. With his blades ignited Tyson deftly cut through the Puppets, and their bodies fell to the ground lifeless. The path to the core room was clear. Tyson marched forward until his eyes fixed on his objective, the central core control console.
Tyson surveyed the scene around him, the stillness of death permeated the air. The once-animated bodies of the puppets now lay lifeless on the floor. Their soul energy no longer fueled the Automated Repair Facility. The power had been cut, leaving the station in a state of eerie silence. The hum of machinery had been replaced only by the sound of his breaths and steps echoing off the walls. For a moment, Tyson felt a sense of relief wash over him. But the feeling was short-lived, replaced by a deep sense of unease as he considered the implications of what he had just witnessed. The facility had been powered by sentient beings, using them as a source of energy for its endless repairs and maintenance. All the puppets had been beyond healing. There was nothing left for Tyson to restore with Art of the Small. The idea of consigning creatures to that fate was abhorrent, and unless he was mistaken, Lady Q had forced the station upon him in its current state. What he could've taken the time to study and understand or disassemble and rework would never come to be. Now, to use the station, he'd have to forfeit the lives of sentient beings.
Tyson closed his eyes and took a deep breath, centering himself in the Force.
35x Sith Puppets Defeated!

Facility Unlocked!
Korriban Shipyard
A space station that allows intergalactic travel and commerce. In its current state, the economic, diplomatic, and defense facilities are limited. But starship maintenance and construction may commence once an appropriate power source is provided. A companion spaceport will be produced on the surface. Note: Due to the special circumstances of this facility's acquisition and its location in orbit around Korriban, it cannot draw power from the planet's core and requires an alternate power source.
~~Star Trek: TNG~~
Tyson appreciated that Lady Q was at least considerate enough to transport the Automated Repair Facility into orbit above Korriban. Since she fucked up his plans for it. Tyson realized that it was the first time the Drawback's description did it justice. He wanted to go on a cursing tirade but feared she might still be watching.
Finally being in space above Korriban, he was able to get a view of the planet and its solar system. It was disappointing, Korriban was the only planet in the system and it orbited the single sun. There weren't any other nearby celestial bodies to examine, so Tyson activated his Galaxy Map to get a feel for where the planet was located in the galaxy. Tyson studied the map in a 2D view, as that was the easiest for him to conceive. The map was divided into grids labeled horizontally from A on the left to Z on the right, and vertically starting from 1 on the top.
The Star Wars map had Korriban in the upper right section of the galaxy in grid R-5. The planets he visited during the events of The Phantom Menace were labeled on the map but were far away. Coruscant was just above the middle of the map. Naboo was right of the center and pretty far down, and Tatooine was further right of that.
He switched the Galaxy Map to the Star Trek Galaxy. And the interface showed him what he was afraid of. Korriban's location was the same place in this galaxy. It was in the Delta Quadrant.
The space around the shipyard changed. New stellar bodies appear as a swirling mass of bright colors, with shades of deep purples and vivid blues dominating the starscape. The view is almost hypnotic, the colors seemed to shift and blend in a mesmerizing dance. Details began to emerge from the swirling maelstrom. Vast clouds of glowing gas shimmered in a rainbow of colors. Here and there, brilliant stars blazed with intense light, illuminating the surrounding gas clouds and casting deep shadows across the void. Dark, twisted nebulae curled through the space, their inky tendrils snaking through the glowing gas. In other places, massive, glittering dust clouds sparkle like jewels, reflecting the light of distant stars in a dazzling display.
The Nekrit Expanse
A vast and dangerous region located in the Delta Quadrant is filled with exotic phenomena, such as subspace vacuoles, dangerous energy fields, and spatial anomalies that make it treacherous to navigate. Due to its remote location and hazardous conditions, it was largely unexplored.
Korriban's location was both a boon and a devastating setback for Tyson. Being in the expanse would keep Korriban hidden. He didn't have to worry about the Borg because their territory was 'south' of the expanse. On the other hand, there were no options for trade or mutual defense in the Star Trek Universe, and the Federation was so far distant that it may as well be considered unreachable using conventional warp drive.
He turned his attention to Korriban. The planet below appeared small in comparison to the vast expanse above it. Compared to Haven or Earth, Korriban was ugly. The planet sported no oceans or forests visible from space. It was an ugly brown and red mix, barren save the rugged mountains stretching across its face. Any majesty the planet might possess was completely overshadowed by the mesmerizing spectacle of the Nekrit Expanse.
Korriban - Type H Planet (Desert)
Korriban is a harsh and unforgiving world located on the Outer Rim of the galaxy. The planet is classified as a terrestrial world with a dry, desert-like climate and an abundance of mineral deposits. The atmosphere is thin and predominantly composed of carbon dioxide with trace amounts of oxygen and other gases. Korriban's terrain is dominated by rocky outcroppings, deep canyons, and cliffs, with little vegetation to speak of. The planet is notable for its association with the Sith, an ancient order of Force-sensitive individuals who once made Korriban their home. As a result, the planet is steeped in dark history and ancient lore, with many ruins and tombs scattered throughout its harsh landscape.
Note: The introduction of non-native flora has begun the process of terraforming the planet.
Terraforming Progress: 162,000 years remaining
It was a relief to know that the introductions he was doing to Korriban were making an influence on the planet's environment. Hundreds of thousands of years was a long time, but Tyson hoped to continue introducing things to make the timeframe more manageable. But, for now, Korriban was a wasteland, and the shipyard would float powerless in orbit until he powered it by sacrificing a sentient creature. Tyson found the docking ring that connected the station to the repaired D'Kyr. He was able to use the ship's transporter to return to the planet's surface.
~~Star Trek: TNG~~
As Tyson crossed the threshold into the Entry Hall. He thought it was past time for him to summon the last of his companions. He had hesitated because of the Academy's dark roots, but now that the light was seeping in, Tyson hoped that it could support his darker allies without shifting the alignment too far back.
Tyson projected a telepathic call to the Academy's inhabitants, feeling the connection between them all strengthening as they began to respond. One by one, he sensed them responding, their thoughts and feelings flooded into his mind.
With everyone connected, Tyson informed them that there would be a banquet tonight and all were expected to attend. He made his way to the kitchens to begin preparing a feast. The sleek, metallic walls of the galley were pristine, and the holographic appliances hummed with life as Tyson began to pull out pots, pans, and ingredients.
As he worked, Tyson felt a sense of satisfaction that he hadn't felt in a long time. The sound of sizzling meat and the smell of spices wafted through the kitchen, and Tyson hummed to himself as he tasted each dish, adjusting the seasoning to perfection.
Setting the soup to simmer, Tyson closed his eyes. His hand trembled slightly as he held the Summoning Gem. He had been waiting for this moment for what felt like forever, knowing that the summoning of his Master would change everything. With a deep breath, he closed his eyes and focused on the face of his Master. He accessed the gem, sending a call out to Master Arren Kae.
In the silence that followed, Tyson waited. The weight of his decision felt heavy upon him, but he knew it was necessary. Suddenly, he heard her through the Force. "Tyson, my apprentice. You have called me at last." The raspy voice was both warm and cold.
Moments later, a figure materialized before him, cloaked in a brown robe. Her face was obscured by the cowl of her robes. Tyson opened his eyes to find Master Kae standing before him, her eyes blazed like stars. Her simple cloak fluttered gently with her arrival, and her face was serene, yet somehow terrifying. Master Kae asked, "What is this place?"
Tyson took a deep breath before answering. "Master. I have encountered many challenges in my journey, and I'd like to tell you about them. I'm preparing a feast for your arrival."
Arren Kae's voice was sharp. "A feast? Such indulgences are meaningless distractions. Your journey should be focused on the acquisition of knowledge and the mastery of the Force, not on the pleasures of the flesh. But speak, what challenges have you faced? And why have you waited so long to summon me?" Kae paused as she recognized the Force signature of the Sith Academy. Memories of her past flood her mind, memories of pain, loss, and betrayal. She paused to take a deep breath, closing her eyes. When she opened her eyes again, she saw Tyson, waiting for her with answers. "Ah, Padawan," she says with a nod, "you have done well to bring me here. I sense the presence of the Dark Side in this place, but also the echoes of the teachings that were once spoken here." Her eyes were narrow as she looked around the room, taking in every detail. "What is it that you wish to tell me, my apprentice?"
Tyson gulped, taken aback by Master Kae's initial coldness and then her quick shift in demeanor. "I-I apologize, Master. I thought a feast would be a fitting way to welcome you. As for my challenges, I have faced many trials on my path toward understanding the Force. Since leaving you on Coruscant I have encountered Sith and Jedi. I've cured diseases and been betrayed, and found this place and worked to rebuild it."
Kreia's expression remained unchanged as she listened to Tyson's words. "Ah, I see. And what have you learned from these experiences? Have you gained any new insights into the nature of the Force?"
Tyson, gathering his thoughts. "Yes, Master. I've had Force visions, gained insight, and seen beyond the veil. I didn't speak of it when last we saw, but I encountered a dark reflection of myself on Coruscant that revealed many secrets." The Gamer paused trying to frame the proper way to respectfully reveal his knowledge to his master.
"Master," Tyson said, his voice filled with respect. "I have come to understand the truth of your identity." He paused, allowing the weight of his words to sink in. "I appreciate that your teachings are not solely based on the light or dark side, but rather on the balance of the Force. I still seek to learn from you, to better understand the true nature of the Force and how to use it without succumbing to its corruption." He bowed his head and respectfully asked, "Is there a name you wish to be addressed by?"
Master Kae looks at Tyson, her eyes piercing through him as if she was trying to read his thoughts. After a few moments of silence, she responded in a calm and measured voice, "I am Kreia. It is the name I have chosen to be addressed by, and the only one that matters."
Kreia narrowed her eyes slightly, studying Tyson for a moment before speaking. "You have a keen intuition, my apprentice," she said, "But be careful not to let your presumptions cloud your judgment. Knowing one's identity is not the same as understanding their true nature." She paused for a moment before continuing, "Now, let us focus on the matter at hand. You say you have encountered challenges on your journey. Tell me more, I am intrigued."
Tyson continues preparing food as he explains the Battle for Naboo, Lore's betrayal, the Tarellian plague, healing the Admiral and the deception, restoring the academy, and finally the battle on the repair facility.
Kreia cackles wildly as she hears of Lore's betrayal. "Foolish" she states obviously. "He was never to be trusted, Tyson. His kind may be built for loyalty, but it is always to their programming. He has no loyalty to you or your cause. You would do well to remember that." She pauses, and her expression softens slightly. "But do not worry, Tyson. Betrayal can be a powerful teacher. It will only make you stronger in the end."
Kreia's eyes seem to flicker with a mix of admiration and something else as she considers the rest of his story. "You have accomplished much since our last meeting, Tyson. Your efforts to restore this Academy are the greatest since the days of the Old Republic." A sense of pride is evident in her voice, "But do not think that your work is done. There is much that remains to be done, and I have much to teach you." She pauses, a small smile on her lips. "And as for your feast, I look forward to partaking in it. It has been some time since I have enjoyed a good meal."
Kreia locks eyes with Tyson, as he finishes preparing the feast. "I long to experience the restored Grand Amphitheater," she says in a low voice, "but I would require an escort. Would you be willing to show me?" Tyson nods eagerly, and Kreia smiles slightly at his eagerness. "Very well," she says, "I will instruct you in a lesson while we explore." As they walk, Tyson is entranced by her every word.
Tyson leads the way as Kreia speaks. "For one so intent on dueling, perhaps I should teach you the basics of Makashi." she begins, "It is a lightsaber form developed specifically for lightsaber combat against another lightsaber. It is elegant, and relies heavily on precise movements and footwork."
As they walked to the grand amphitheater, the lighting softly illuminated their path. Tyson could sense Kreia's admiration of the ancient architecture and wondered if it was the first time she had truly appreciated anything in a long time. When they arrived Kreia moved slowly, gracefully, almost seductively, to the center of the amphitheater. She stands there for a moment, her eyes fixed on Tyson as if measuring him up. She gestured for Tyson to join her as she continued her lecture. "It focuses on using one's blade to control the opponent's weapon, leaving them vulnerable to attack.
Kreia slowly, enticingly, reached into her robes producing a lightsaber hilt. When she engages her weapon, a purple blade extended. She begins to demonstrate the movements, her lightsaber held at the ready. "The key to Makashi is in its parries," she continues, "which are designed to redirect the opponent's attack without sacrificing balance or exposing oneself to further attacks." She steps forward, demonstrating the precise footwork required for the form.
"It is a form of finesse, not brute strength," Kreia continues. "Makashi is not well-suited for combat against multiple opponents or opponents with blasters. But against a single opponent with a lightsaber, it is a formidable form."
She pauses for a moment, her eyes scanned the amphitheater. "It is important to remember, however, that a lightsaber is a weapon of the Force, and the Force is not limited to any particular form or technique. Always be open to new insights, new strategies, new ways of wielding the weapon."
Kreia lowers her lightsaber, turning to face Tyson. "Now, show me what you have learned."
Lightsaber Form Unlocked!
Form II: Makashi - This form prioritizes defense and precision against a single lightsaber combatant. When using this form while wielding a lightsaber in a single hand, you gain a +5 deflection bonus to your Reflex.
Kreia demonstrates the movements of Makashi with her lightsaber. Tyson follows along, mimicking her movements with his weapon. They start with a slow and deliberate pace, each movement precise and controlled. Kreia emphasizes the importance of proper footwork and stance, as well as maintaining a focused and disciplined mind.
As they progress, the pace quickens and the movements become more fluid and graceful. Kreia shows Tyson how to use precise strikes and quick counters to defeat opponents. The Gamer practices the techniques repeatedly until they become second nature. Kreia watches closely, offering corrections and encouragement.
Finally, after an hour of intense practice, Kreia nods in satisfaction. "You have learned well, my student," she says. "But remember, the true test of your skill is not in practice, but in battle. Keep your mind focused and your movements precise, and you will emerge victorious."
Lightsaber skill increased! (25)
As Kreia finished her instruction on Makashi, Tyson acknowledged her words. "You're right, Master," he said. "It is time for a true test of skill." He then reached for his companion gem and contemplated summoning Maul. Tyson's fingers closed tightly around the smooth surface of the Companion Gem, his heart pounding in his chest. His eyes flickered to Kreia, watching her carefully for any sign of disapproval, but her expression remained neutral. The darkness in the room seemed to intensify, as if it too knew what was about to happen. Without a word, he activated the Gem, calling forth the Dark Side presence of Darth Maul.
The form of the fearsome Sith Lord coalesced with a flicker, the air around him seeming to distort with his presence. Maul's eyes blazed as he surveyed his surroundings, his gaze locking onto Tyson. Tyson stood tall, his lightsaber held loosely in his grip. He informs Maul of his position as the Lord of the Sith Academy, and his expectation that Maul would join the ranks of the Academy's instructors. But Maul's response was much as Tyson anticipated. He took a step forward, and his red lightsaber ignited. "The last time we fought, you hid behind your cowardly armor and force field. You could not best me in a true duel then, and I doubt that has changed. I challenge you now, for lordship of this academy, and I suggest you accept." His words are confident, and his stance is poised for action.
Perk Activated: Duel of the Fates
The air was heavy with anticipation as the bells of the Grand Amphitheater tolled, their ominous peals reverberating throughout the halls of the Sith Academy. Though none had heard these bells before, every inhabitant knew what the tolling bells meant; a duel was about to take place. The spectators were drawn to the arena like moths to a flame, eager to witness the clash that was about to unfold. The atmosphere grew thick, as the crowd of specters arrived along with the Tarellians and Companions.
Maul was more than happy to allow time for the new arrivals, the more that would witness his victory, the better. As the seats filled, Tyson's voice filled the arena, outlining the terms of the duel. The Grand Amphitheater echoed with Tyson's dark and commanding voice as he announced the challenge that had been laid upon him. The tense air was heavy with anticipation as Tyson laid out the terms of the duel to the gathered crowd. There would be no tricks, no armor, or technology used in this fight. Only the raw power of the Force and the wielded might of their lightsabers would determine the outcome. Should Tyson lose, he would cede his lordship of the Academy to Maul. But should he emerge victorious, Maul would be forced to take a position as an instructor within the Academy and submit to Tyson's authority. The fate of the Academy hung in the balance as the two powerful Force wielders stood poised to do battle.
The air was thick with the palpable tension of the impending clash. Tyson and Maul stood at opposite ends of the amphitheater, their eyes fixed on each other with unbridled intensity. Both combatants channeled Dark Rage but in different ways. Maul channeled his anger and hatred, allowing the Dark Side to course through him, fueling his every move. Tyson, on the other hand, tapped into the lighter emotions of excitement, hope, and contentment, and used them to sharpen his focus and hone his attacks.
The sound of clashing lightsabers echoed through the amphitheater as Tyson and Maul engaged in their duel. Tyson stood tall with his single blue lightsaber ignited and glowing brightly in the dimly lit arena. He had abandoned his usual Shii-Cho dual-wielding style in favor of showcasing his Makashi proficiency to his master, Kreia. Maul, on the other hand, wielded his crimson dual-bladed saber with lethal intent, his anger fueled his favored form, Form VII Juyo.
In the first exchange, Tyson managed to block both of Maul's attacks, but he missed in his swings, the sheer ferocity of the Sith's movements made it difficult for Tyson to find an opening.
The two combatants faced each other once again. Maul struck first, but Tyson blocked the attack with ease. The Sith tried again, but Tyson parried the blow and countered with a swift strike that landed a heavy blow on Maul's shoulder. Tyson maintained his Aesthetic Damage perk but used it differently than he had against the Jedi in his last duel. Now he focused on harming Maul, so he learned his lesson, but not maiming the man.
Maul recovered quickly and retaliated with a flurry of strikes, but Tyson's use of Makashi allowed him to block each one. The two engage in a fierce exchange of blows, each trying to find an opening in the other's defense. But it was Tyson who struck true once again, landing another heavy hit. The Sith Lord grits his teeth in frustration. Tyson struck the same arm again, and the Sith felt his bone snap. He couldn't use his double-bladed lightsaber effectively and was forced to disengage one of the blades. The Sith was determined to turn the tide of the battle in his favor.
The clashing of lightsabers echoed throughout the amphitheater as Tyson and Maul dueled. They exchanged a series of blows, each one trying to gain the upper hand. Finally, Tyson broke through Maul's defense. The Sith Lord stumbled backward but quickly regained his footing and launched his attack. Tyson blocked it with ease and responded with another powerful slash that left Maul reeling. They continued to trade blows, neither gaining a clear advantage over the other. The crowd watched in awe as the two powerful warriors clashed in a fierce battle for dominance.
Kreia watched the duel with a concerned eye. Tyson's movements were precise and fluid, blocking every strike Maul threw at him effortlessly. Even with her expert tutelage and Tyson's powerful connection to the Force, Kreia couldn't help but feel troubled by the ease with which he was winning. She could see the skill and experience in Maul's movements. It was clear that he was no amateur with a lightsaber. As the two combatants clashed, Kreia couldn't help but wonder at her apprentice's rapid skill gain and proficiency in combat.
The name between the two warriors was a spectacle of deadly elegance. Maul's movements were lightning-fast and precise, but Tyson matched him with a combination of speed and technique. The sound of their blades meeting echoed throughout the grand amphitheater, and the spectators held their breath as the fight raged on. Maul's attempts were expertly blocked, while Tyson landed a powerful blow in return. Kreia watched through her Force Sight as Tyson effortlessly moved with the Force, one moment heeding its warnings, and the next, forcing it to bend to his will.
Lightsaber skill increased! (36-Maxed)
Maul's movements were quick and aggressive, his rage drove him forward, while Tyson's style was measured with no energy wasted in his movements. Once again, the two warriors clashed, their lightsabers locked in a deadly dance. Finally, with a mighty swing, Tyson struck the final blow, bringing the duel to an end. The onlookers erupted into cheers as Maul fell to the ground, battered, unconscious, and defeated.
Kreia could hardly believe what unfolded before her. Despite Maul's combat prowess and experience, Tyson held his own with incredible ease. His connection to the Force was undeniable, and far eclipsed Maul's own. Kreia had trained many students, but she had never witnessed a display of skill and power quite like this. Not a single one of Maul's strikes broke through Tyson's guard as he elegantly deflected each attack.
A sense of unease grew within her. She had formed a powerful connection with Tyson, and it had saved her from a life without the Force. But now, with Tyson's power growing ever stronger, she couldn't help but wonder what it would mean for her in the future. Would he become too powerful for her to control? Would he eventually turn on her, despite her teachings? Kreia's mind wandered to other methods of control. She could sense his desire for her knowledge, for her power. She could use that to her advantage, manipulate him into doing her bidding, and further her agenda. She had always been a master of manipulation, but this was different. Tyson's power was growing with each passing day, and she couldn't let it slip from her grasp. She looked at his companions, each of them strong and capable, but vulnerable in their own ways. Perhaps she could use their weaknesses to her advantage, control them, and by extension, control Tyson. Kreia also noted they were nearly all female. So, he has a weakness for the flesh? She pondered the possibility of tempting Tyson with herself, knowing full well the power she could hold over him. The thought sent shivers down her spine, for it was a dangerous game to play. She knew the risks of becoming too attached to another, but the potential rewards were too great to ignore. She would do whatever it took to maintain her hold on Tyson, his power, and the Academy by proxy. With a sly smile on her face, she continued to contemplate her next move. She pushed these thoughts to the back of her mind for now, but she knew they would continue to haunt her.

Tyson approached the fallen Maul with a calm determination in his step. His hand raised to Maul's body, and the Force began to flow through him, filling the surrounding air with palpable energy. He focused on Maul's wounds, using the Art of the Small to stitch together the torn flesh and knit the broken bones. As the healing took effect, Tyson could feel a sudden surge of strength within himself, as he absorbed some of Maul's power. The Zabrak's eyes flickered open, and he looked up at Tyson in confusion. But Tyson merely nodded, a silent acknowledgment passing between them, before turning to depart for the feast to celebrate his Master's arrival.
As everyone sat down to eat, Tyson couldn't help but feel a sense of relief that the feast was going well. He had spent hours preparing the food, ensuring that each dish was perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection. And it seemed that his efforts had paid off. As he looked around the table, he saw the Tarellians eagerly digging into the food, their faces lit up with joy as they savored each bite. Beside them, Kreia sat with her usual stoic expression, but Tyson could tell that she was pleased with the spread. Maul, on the other hand, seemed more interested in the wine, swirling the deep red liquid in his glass as he observed the others. Undoubtedly drinking away the sorrow of his recent defeat.
Adi and Depa, both Jedi Masters, sat together and spoke softly to each other. Visas and Cognus, the former Sith apprentice and the recently summoned Sith Lord, were also present, but they remained quiet and reserved, with Cognus watching the others with a hint of suspicion.
As Tyson took a sip of his wine, he couldn't help but think about the recent betrayal he had faced. Lore, the conniving android. It was a constant reminder that he could only trust those closest to him. But as he watched the others enjoy the food he had prepared, he realized that maybe there was hope for building trust and loyalty among his companions. Maybe, just maybe, they could work together to overcome the challenges ahead.
And with that thought in mind, Tyson raised his glass and proposed a toast. "To new allies, balance, and trust among friends," he said, his eyes meeting each of his Companions in turn. They all raised their glasses in response, and for a moment, the tension in the room dissipated as they enjoyed the simple pleasure of good food and company.
But Tyson knew that the challenges ahead would be difficult and that there was still much to do if they were to succeed. And so, as they finished their meal, he silently resolved to do whatever it takes to ensure that his companions could trust him and each other, no matter what dangers lay ahead… Even if that meant spiking the food.

Another episode without lemons... how long will the streak continue?
I love reading the reviews. Not only do the criticisms help me improve as a writer but sometimes the suggestions or comments give me ideas for future chapters. I even get a few trolls, and occasionally their comments have given me ideas.
Shout out to author Joe Lawyer for pointing out another of Tyson's failures in the reviews. It gave me an idea for a story arc that I may pick up in the future. I'd give you a collar pip, but Gothic outranks me. If you haven't read his story, The Adventures of Augment Gothic, you probably should. It's dope and a huge inspiration for this story.
I'll elaborate on Lady Q's comment here because I don't have a spot for it in the story anytime soon, and it probably won't be relevant by the time I'd get to it. The zombie instant dungeon was essentially a time-loop of a dimension where the mission to the Seleya failed. Every time Tyson entered the ID it would restart the loop (with minor changes from quests). Tyson was given this scenario because ultimately with the losses Enterprise sustained during the mission, they ended up failing with the Xindi, and Earth was destroyed. At this point in Enterprise, everyone is messing with the timeline ala Temporal Cold War. It's a story that wasn't completely fleshed out IMO, but maybe I'll get to it, probably not but left the thread open anyway. Tyson didn't get a visit from the Temporal Integrity Commission because the TIC didn't exist... until he interfered. His changes, while they altered the timeline are deemed a 'necessary temporal event' because, without them, the Federation would cease to exist.
My Reasoning: The TIC didn't interfere with the Voyager finale. Why? Because the Federation is ultimately self-serving and Voyager's return heralded a technological boom in the Federation.
Tyson.
