As the name of the chapter implies, this is the beginning of the Evil Route of my story. Again, for the sake of writing things down, some words are going to be the same like the previously Good Route. However, there will be a few changes throughout the rest of the route. If you want to know what happened earlier, go back to the beginning of the story to know where you left off of this route. Speaking of which, we're going to leave where we left off when Pit is going to make a choice, but this time, you'll expect what it's going to be. You already know the disclaimer, so sit back and enjoy!
Chapter 6: Dark Pit + DLC: A New Villain Arises (Evil Route)
Now to where we left off when Pit is going to make a choice.

Devil Pit collapsed to the arena floor and slowly started to stand back up. "I'll admit," he started. "You two really are tough. However, I can only let one of you go." He then looked at Dark Pit. "You're not needed here," he continued. "So I suggest you leave right now." "If you say so," Dark Pit replied and he took off. "And what about me?" asked Pit. "I have an offer to tell you, but I'm going to need you to take off that laurel crown of yours," Devil Pit explained. "A-are you sure about that?" Pit asked. "It's better this way so do it now," Devil Pit responded coldly. "O-OK..." Pit reluctantly complied as he took off the crown. "Pit?" Palutena asked. "What's going on over there?" But she couldn't seem to contact him. "Pit? Pit?! Why can't I contact you?!" "Perfect," said Devi Pit, proudly. "This way, she won't know what's going on." "What do you mean?" Pit asked. "Listen," Devil Pit began. "If you really want to know who I really am, I need you to do me a favor. I have a lot of dirty work that needs to be taken care of and it requires help. If you wish to know," he continued as he took out his hand, "Then join me and you may know the truth about us right now." Pit thought about it for a moment and then reached for Devil Pit's hand. He then placed his hand into the Devil's. "I want to know who I really am," said the angel. " I accept your offer. Please tell me what this 'truth' is about."

Devil Pit smiled to see the angel accepting his offer. "Excellent. With you accepting my offer, things will be easier for the both of us," he said. "Listen. Devil Pit is my fake name. My real name is Lucifer. I'm not a second clone of you. I'm actually your older brother. Also, Pit is not your real name. Your real name is Icarus, and you're my long lost little brother I have been searching for a long time." Pit was shocked to hear all of that. "H-How are you even my older brother? Also, what do you even mean about me being called 'Icarus?'" he asked. "If you want to understand a lot more, you better follow me in here," said Lucifer as he snapped his fingers to open a portal. "This portal will take us somewhere where you will find the answers you seek. Follow me if you want to learn the truth." He then entered the portal and Pit reluctantly followed his brother into it afterwards.
The Angel Brothers soon came out of the portal and entered some kind of dark space. "L-Lucifer... W-What is this place?" Pit asked a little scared. "We're in the deepest dark space called the purgatory, also known as the Void," Lucifer explained. "It's where no soul can rest and escape after committing their dreadful sins. It's their eternal punishment for their crimes." Pit was a little uncomfortable after hearing that. "Doesn't that seem a little bit...extreme?" he asked. "It could be, Icarus. But you'll get used to it once you follow my orders," Lucifer replied. "Anyway, the reason why we're here is because I want to show you something. Follow me." The brothers walked to something glowing, almost like a soul. "What is that, Lucifer?" Pit asked. "This is a Memory Fragment," Lucifer explained. "Memory Fragments are parts of someone's memories from the past. If one tends to forget about then, they end up here in the Void. Now, touch the Memory Fragment and gaze into it, Icarus. There you will find the answers you seek." Pit did as he was told and slowly touched the Memory Fragment. Suddenly, he began to remember something from his past, 35 years ago.

Begin flashback
A young Pit and Lucifer, as humans before they became angels, were walking down a large town. They were heading back to their abandoned house after burying their parent's graves. "I can't believe our parents died from that explosion, Lucifer," said Young Pit as he turned to his brother. "What if we can try to start a brand new life without them, big bro?" "Oh, but that's exactly the plan, Icarus. Rulers have a way to fix what went wrong, just like the Goddess of Light, Palutena," Lucifer replied. "It's our future, little brother. We can rule a new world together. We can carry out our parents' legacy to start the new life together." Young Pit was confused to hear that. "I don't know what you mean by that, Lucifer," he said. "Why did we ran away from our parents before their death? Why did we had to hide from all the other people? How is any of this any of this going to bring us to our future? I don't know how any of this is going to work out like this." Lucifer only looked back at his younger brother. "Give it time for you to understand, Icarus," he said. "One day, you will know that we will become the new world's rulers as we deserve." He then looked away. You will pay for what you did to us, Gaia, he thought. It's my destiny to defeat you and avenge my parents. But, in order to do that, I'm going to need some help. Soon enough, the brothers soon entered arrived at their abandoned house.

After they entered the house, Lucifer walked through the living room and to another door. "Icarus, I need you to follow me into the basement," he said. "Why is that, Lucifer?" Young Pit asked. "There is a machine that our father worked on in his workshop," Lucifer explained. "It will help us with our future, but as of right now, it is currently unfinished." "What is the machine you're talking about, Lucifer?" Young Pit asked. "It's a teleportation device that allows one person to create portals to reach their destination," Lucifer explained. "How about you follow me to our father's workshop? I need a hand to finish the device." This made Young Pit confused. "Lucifer, why can't you just finish it yourself?" he asked. "The systems keep malfunctioning," Lucifer responded. "Now, follow me to the basement. Let's finish this machine so that I can begin the first step to create the new world." They soon entered the basement and Young Pit followed Lucifer to their father's workshop. "Is this the machine you're telling me about?" Young Pit asked. "Yes, it is," Lucifer responded. "Now, help me finish this machine. After that, I must enter the coordinates to the destination I need to go to." "Can I go with you for this mission?" Young Pit asked. "No. I need you to stay here where you'll be safe," Lucifer responded. "Don't worry. I'll give you some food and drinks to keep you healthy and alive." Young Pit nodded and they soon got to work on the machine. Soon, Gaia will pay for what she did to us, Lucifer thought. Her soul will NEVER rest because of the sin she committed.
End flashback

After the end of the flashback, Pit came back to reality. "So, do you understand your past now, Icarus?" Lucifer asked. Pit pondered through his mind for a moment before looking at his brother. "Our parents...are dead?!" he exclaimed. "Who would do such a thing to them?!" "The one responsible for her crime was the first Goddess of Nature, Gaia," Lucifer answered. "However, I'll give you more information about her later. Now, before you leave, there's something I need to ask you." "What is it?" said Pit. "What's that you're holding in your hand?" Lucifer asked. Pit showed his brother the tape player. "I found this before I was about to fight Pittoo," he said. But Lucifer's only response was snatching the tape player away from the angel's hand and then crushed it with his own. "I would advise you to stay away from my personal belongings," he growled. "That tape player will let you know the recordings of the cassette tapes, which I happened to have with me. Don't even think about take them away from me, because there will be consequences." "O-OK..." Pit reluctantly replied. "But...why do you not want me to listen to those tapes?" "It's classified," Lucifer answered. Pit then realized something and said, "Oh no! Lady Palutena is going to be worried about me! Can you take me back, Lucifer?" Lucifer thought about it for a moment. "Hmm... I will, but only if you listen to my instructions," he finally answered. "Never tell anyone about what has happened, never reveal the secret to his goddess or anybody else, and never EVER disobey my orders since we're in the same boat right now. If you even dare to disobey me, there will be consequences. Understand?" "Y-Yes...Lucifer..." Pit reluctantly replied. "Good. Now, enter the portal over there," said Lucifer. "It will take you back to the abandoned temple." Pit did as he was told and entered the portal to leave the Void. "Now then, I must make preparations to begin our master plan," Lucifer continued. "With my brother working with me, the new world will be ours!" He then left the Void to begin his preparations.

Meanwhile, Pit had just arrived back at the arena where he fought his dark counterpart. "Whew! Good to be back," he sighed in relief. "Oh! I just remembered that Lucifer made me take off my laurel crown. I better put it back on." He searched around the arena until he finally found his laurel crown. He then put it back on his head and then felt Palutena's godlike force. "Hey, Lady Palutena!" said Pit. "Pit! Oh thank goodness you're okay!" Palutena gasped in relief to see and hear the angel again. "What happened to you? All I could see was you and Pittoo fighting against Devil Pit. After the battle, everything went silent and I couldn't contact you again." "Don't worry, Lady Palutena. I'm fine," Pit replied. "Whew. That's a relief," Palutena sighed. "Now, let's get you back. We need to focus on our mission to stop Medusa." She then opened up a light pillar and whisked the angel back to her temple.

Meanwhile in the Void, Lucifer came back and was busy making preparations for some kind of ritual. "Perfect. Now that my brother has joined me, he'll be helpful to complete our master plan and rule the new world we wish to create," he said. "This ritual requires souls from humans and deities. In order for it to me complete, I need my brother to help me gather the required souls to unleash THEM. Now, let's see..." He walked around the Ritual Circle to scan the souls it had so far. "So far I've obtained the souls of Gaia, Emperor Nero and his empire, the parents of that little child, Dark Lord Gaol, and other human souls," he said. "Oh... I totally remembered the day I murdered Gaol." Then, a flashback began as Lucifer remembered the murder he did.

After Lucifer left the Void, Magnus and Gaol were in Magnus' house after that tough battle in the castle. After Gaol broke free from the Underworld's control, Magnus brought him back in his house to let her recover. Now, they were in there relaxing for a while, away from the imminent danger. "I'm glad to have you back, Gaol," said Magnus. "Me too," Gaol replied. "The Underworld scum got what they deserved after you and the angel saved me." "Yeah. I couldn't imagine what my life would be like if I lost you, too," said Magnus. "Just like what happened to my son." But while they were still relaxing, they suddenly heard the front door crashed through broken. "What the?" Magnus gasped. "W-What was that?" Gaol exclaimed. As on queue, Lucifer approached the humans with a cold and sinister look on his face. "Well well well. Look what we have here," he said. "If it isn't the human that saved the other one with my brother." "Who the hell are you?!" Magnus exclaimed. "My name is not for discussion," Lucifer replied. "All you need to know is that I'm here for one thing and one thing only." "And what would that be, monster?" Gaol asked. "You, Gaol," Lucifer answered. "I need your soul for the master plan we need to complete. If you don't comply, I won't hesitate to kill you!" "You will not take Gaol away, you demon!" Magnus yelled. "If you want to get her soul really badly, you have to defeat us first!" He and Gaol then readied their weaponry. "I'll be glad to do that if that's what you want, mortals!" said Lucifer as he took out his "Special Weapon" to begin the fight.
Music stops and switches to: Boss Fight 2
Lucifer started the battle by summoning two Shadow Pit Clones. "Charge!" he ordered and the shadows flew straight towards the humans with their EZ Cannon and Violet Palm weapons equipped. "Oh no you don't!" Magnus yelled as he slashed them away with his sword. But Lucifer wasn't going to make this easy for them. "How about this?!" he said and unleashed a powerful fiery blast with Pyrokinesis. Gaol used the powers of her armor to stop the blasts. "You are NOT going to hurt any more innocents!" she yelled. "I cannot allow you to continue any longer!" "Such persistence from mortals like you," said Lucifer. "But I'm afraid it's going to be all for nothing. My brother has joined me, and together, we will rule the new world we wish to create!" "What are you even talking about?" Magnus questioned. "Tell me, Magnus, do you ever recall the 'angel face' ally of yours?" Lucifer asked. Suddenly, Magnus remembered what he meant by that. "What have you done to Pit?!" he shouted, demanding for answers. "That's none of your concern," Lucifer replied. "Now if you'll excuse me, I have a soul to collect." He then charged at his targets with his "Special Weapon" and slashed at Magnus, only for the human to block it. They continued to slash at each other countless times, but Lucifer suddenly gain the upper hand and took him down. "No!" he yelled in defeat. "And now to finish this!" said Lucifer as he flew at Gaol and slashed at her many times. With one mighty fatal stab, Gaol was knocked to the ground. "ARGH!" she yelled in pain. "Gaol! NO!" Magnus cried. "Your soul is mine now!" Lucifer chuckled, sinisterly. He then stabbed Gaol so many times until the last stab ripped her soul out of her body and killed her. After that, Lucifer left the house back into the Void. Magnus ran up to Gaol's corpse and mourned over her death. "G-Gaol! N-No! NNNOOOO!" he sobbed.

"Ah. What a fantastic memory to behold," Lucifer sighed. "But the time for memories is not the case for our master plan." He then looked around the rest of the Ritual Circle. "We're still missing a few more souls for the ritual," he continued. "I know for a fact that I killed Zeus many years ago, but I have a feeling that he's not technically dead yet. Once I find his last remains, I will kill him once again and steal his soul for the ritual. Hercules is also out there somewhere, but I can't seem to figure out where he's located. Oh well, I'll deal with that later. Pit is going to go on his next mission to the Seafloor Palace. There I will find my next victim after I killed his brother again. Now then, time to get to work." After that, Lucifer opened up a portal and exited to Void to find Zeus' last remains. Once he did that, he'll go after somebody else.

Well. Looks like the Evil Route of the story has just begun. Pit is now working with his evil brother, but he's unaware about the whole master plan. What will happen to our heroic protagonist now that he's joined forces with the evil OC antagonist? How will Palutena figure out something fishy going on with her angel?
