Chapter 8: The Space-Pirate Ship + DLC: Preparations for Destruction

Music playing: The Space Pirate Ship (Route A)

"Let's go!" Pit exclaimed as he rushed to door and flew into the sky with his Drill Arm equipped. "With Medusa's commanders out of the way, we're getting to the battle of battles!" But then he noticed something while battling more Underworld enemies. "But this isn't the way to the Underworld," he continued. "Where are we going?" "I'm a little embarrassed to say..." Palutena began. "What is it?" asked Pit. "Remember the Three Sacred Treasures you used against Medusa long ago?" Palutena responded. "Of course," Pit replied. "The Mirror Shield, Arrow of Light, and Wings of Pegasus." "Right," said Palutena. "I hid them in case of an emergency. You know, so they wouldn't get stolen." "Now that's using your noodle," Pit commented. "Man, you are so smart!" "The story doesn't end there," Palutena continued. "See, there's also this space-pirate ship..." "Wait, what?" Pit wondered, confused. "You know, a pirate ship...in space," Palutena responded. "Its crew travels the Galactic Sea, robbing the heavens of constellations." "That's awesome!" Pit exclaimed. "I mean, evil! But what does that have to do with the Three Sacred Treasures?" "Well..." Palutena began again. "I hid the three Sacred Treasures in the constellations." "Uh-oh..." Pit groaned in worry, pretending like he didn't remember Lucifer telling him about them. "So the pirates stole the treasures along with the stars?" "And the Underworld Army has gotten wind of it," Palutena answered. "They're attacking the ship." "Oh, great," Pit groaned again. "Which brings us to today's mission," Palutena continued. "Raid the pirate ship and retrieve the Three Sacred Treasures!" "I'm on it!" said Pit, determined, as Palutena sent him upwards quickly. "Aaaand I'm going really fast." "We're already late, so we have to hurry," Palutena warned. "Hold on!" During which, Pit continued to fight against more Underworld enemies. He then arrived up into space and proceeded. "So, the Three Sacred Treasures are pretty old now," he said. "Do they still work?" "They've grown more brittle with age, but they'll likely last a few more battles," replied Palutena. "You're not exactly inspiring confidence here," Pit responded. "Well, maybe you don't even need them anymore," continued Palutena. "Don't be such a chicken." "I'm no chicken!" Pit exclaimed. "I could take Medusa with one arm tied behind my back!" "Listen to that swagger!" said Palutena, grinning. "You've toughened up nicely, Pit. Remember when you'd be like, 'I'm finished!' all the time?" "I...still say that...a lot..." Pit replied, embarrassed. Along the way, he continued to take down more Underworld enemies who were standing in his way. He then received four more Recover Orbs and was now at the Galactic Sea. "Man, what a sight!" the angel exclaimed. "You've arrived at the Galactic Sea!" replied Palutena. But along the way, she was also searching for the ship that was hiding somewhere, while Pit continued to take down more enemies. "The pirate ship should be around here somewhere..." said the goddess. "Where?" asked Pit.

Right after the angel asked the question, the Space-Pirate Ship emerged from below. "Watch out!" Palutena warned. "Whoaaaa!" Pit cried in shock. He barely avoided it before it landed back into the water. "I guess that was it!" he said. "It's moving pretty fast," said Palutena. "Stay on its tail!" She sent Pit to go after the ship as fast as she could. The Underworld enemies still won't make things easy for Pit and tried to block his way. Luckily, Pit took them down before they could do anything. He then noticed the ship close by. " I think I see the ship!" he exclaimed. "It's under attack by Underworld forces." "Good," said Palutena. "That means the treasures are still on board." "So the plan now is to...defend the ship?" asked Pit, confused about the situation. "Focus, Pit," ordered Palutena. "To get the treasures, you need to take out those space pirates too. Plus, just think how lonely the sky would be without constellations. Don't hold back!" Pit then flew around the ship while avoiding its defensive attacks, since they were fighting against the Underworld Army. But then the ship leaped into the air and landed back into the water. "Euaah!" Pit cried. "I'm looking for an entrance," said Palutena "Hold tight!" Pit flew around the ship while avoiding the Space Pirates' attacks and taking down more Underworld enemies. Palutena continued searching for an entrance until she found one. "Found one!" she exclaimed. "Get ready to go in!" Pit then flew into a wall with a loud crash.

The angel roughly on the floor after that crash and then slowly got back up. "Not that I'm complaining, but could you be a little gentler next time?" he groaned. "Sorry about that!" Palutena apologized. "Are you OK?" Pit nodded "yes" after eating the food. He then entered a room and noticed the Space Pirates appearing to block his way. "So those are the space pirates?" he wondered. "I get the feeling they won't just hand over the Three Sacred Treasures." "They might even be tougher than the Underworld forces," Palutena warned. "Be careful." Pit did so and avoided the Space Pirates' attack and then took them down. He then proceeded onwards and took down more Space Pirates. After taking them all down, he entered the Generator Room. "This is the Generator Room," explained Palutena. "What's that shining thing in the glass?" Pit asked. "That's where energy from the Galactic Sea is converted into propulsive power," Palutena responded. "As long as the ship remains in the Galactic Sea, it can run indefinitely." "So...I should destroy the shiny thing?" Pit wondered. "You'd better not," answered Palutena. "The explosion would be enormous." "Sounds hurty," Pit noted as he took down more Space Pirates and continued onwards. He then took a lift to go up and took down more Space Pirates. After taking down more of them, he continued onwards and spotted an Underworld enemy that broke a wall. "Wuh!" he exclaimed. "A Belunka!" "The Underworld Army really wants in on this fight," said Palutena. Pit managed to take it down and then continued onwards to collect the Three Sacred Treasures. Along the way, he entered the Storage Vault. "Oh, I see," said Palutena. "See what?" asked the angel. "This must be a Storage Vault for the stolen constellations," the goddess explained. "They've all been compressed for easy transport." "And what about the Three Sacred Treasures?" Pit asked again. "Unfortunately, they don't seem to be here," Palutena responded. "I bet the Pirate Captain has them. I wonder if he's wearing them." "Then it's more than just an emergency!" exclaimed Pit. "It's a FASHION emergency," boomed Palutena. Unfortunately for the angel and goddess, the Captain did indeed stole the Three Sacred Treasures earlier and he was not going to give them back to Pit. Meanwhile, the angel took down more Underworld enemies and Space Pirates along the way and continued onwards. Along the way, he found a hidden Zodiac Chamber and entered inside. He collected the Cancer Claws from there and left the chamber to continue his mission. Just then, he entered a room with another Underworld enemy; a Collin and Phil. "You might recognize this type of Underworld enemy from your past adventures," explained Palutena "Here's a tip. Don't attack the big monster straight on. Instead, use melee attacks to launch the little bugs back at it." Pit did so and took it down. He then continued onwards and exited the ship through the side. "Whoa!" he gasped. "This is the side of the ship's hull," said Palutena. "The view is like a postcard!" Pit exclaimed. He then proceeded to take down more Underworld enemies and went back into the ship again. He then saw a switch. "A switch, huh?" he wondered. "That's what it looks like," said Palutena. "Probably does something," said the angel. "They usually do," replied the goddess. Pit activated the switch and it opened the door for him to move forward. However, after he entered the next room, there were other doors spawning Space Pirates. "You can destroy the doors the enemies are coming out of," explained Palutena. "I'll stop the baddies at the source!" Pit exclaimed. He managed to destroy the doors and then activated the switches to open the next door in front of him. Then he did the same thing to another one and saw something in the room right in front of him. "Space-pirate Hot Spring!" he exclaimed. "It looks like somebody beat you to it," said Palutena. Pit wasted no time and took it down. Then, he relaxed in the Hot Spring. "Hope there's room for one more!" he said. "There's always room for one more!" Palutena responded. After that little relaxation, Pit decided to continue onwards outside of the ship. He then took down more Underworld enemies and entered back inside. "I set up a Grind Rail for you outside the ship," Palutena pointed out. "Thank you very much!" Pit replied. "I'm pretty limited in where I can put grind rails," Palutena continued. "Luckily, the Underworld forces cleared out a lot of clutter." Pit hopped on it and wondered where it will lead him to. "Where's this thing go?" he asked. "To the ship's Control Room," Palutena answered. "I think that's where we'll find the Three Sacred Treasures." "Good!" Pit exclaimed. "I want my stuff back!" He then proceeded to fend off more Underworld enemies and entered back into the ship after hopping off the Grind Rail. He then noticed the Space Pirates Commandos fighting an Underworld Tortolunk. "This place is crawling with Underworld enemies too!" he exclaimed. "Just keep pushing forward," said Palutena. Turns out that Devil Pit sent out the Space Pirates to fend off the Underworld Army from ruining his plans. "The Space Pirates better fend off the Underworld long enough," he said. "I cannot allow the Underworld to stop me this time. And hopefully, that angel can make it up here." After watching the fights, and then taking both enemy forces' minions, Pit continued onwards to the next room and saw Space Pirate Snipers fighting an Underworld Clubberskull. The Clubberskull showed no mercy and took down those Space Pirates. It then proceeded to attack Pit after it saw him. Luckily, Pit barely managed to fend it off and defeat it with a little bit of harm. He then entered an elevator to go up. "This elevator will take you to the Pirate Captain," Palutena explained. "I am SO swabbing the deck with that jerk!" exclaimed the determined angel. He then drank another Drink of the Gods and hopped onto the elevator to reach the Control Room.

Pit then saw the Space Pirate Captain yelling out orders at him, but he couldn't seem to figure out what he's yelling about. "I have no idea what he's saying," he sighed. "He's like, 'Yar, I'll make ye walk the space plank, scurvy dog!'" Palutena said in a silly voice. "That's just a loose translation." "Oh, man...not the space plank!" Pit groaned. Devil Pit, meanwhile, was still hiding and whispered, "Okay, this should keep him distracted. *ahem* Release the beast!" Suddenly, Pit heard a rumbling noise. "Ah!" he yelped. The Space Pirate Captain noticed it, too. Several tentacles came out of the sea and one of them grabbed the Captain. Out came the head of the Space Kraken and it swallowed the Pirate Captain whole. It then noticed Pit and screeched at him to begin the fight. "A space Kraken?!" exclaimed Palutena. "Well, that came out of nowhere." "What's it even doing here?!" Pit asked in shock. "The Galactic Sea is home to all sorts of nasty creatures," Palutena responded. "So it's not affiliated at all with the Underworld Army?" Pit wondered. "Either way, you'd better do something about those tentacles!" Palutena ordered. "Understood!" Pit affirmed. "Although, when prepared correctly, octopus is actually quite delicious," Palutena wondered. "How can you think about food at a time like this?!" Pit shouted in disbelief. He then started to take down the tentacles, although they can move in different places around the sea, and knocked down the first one. "You've got three tentacles to go!" said Palutena. Pit then took down the second tentacle after moving around to catch it. "Two left!" he exclaimed. Then he took down the third one after a little hard time to catch it. "Only one left!" said Palutena. And finally, Pit took down the last one. "That was the last tentacle!" he exclaimed. "Now go for the head!" ordered Palutena. As on cue, the Kraken's head revealed itself to attack Pit. It started by shooting a massive water laser from its mouth and Pit barley dodged it. "Attacking from a distance and getting in close both have their pros and cons," Palutena explained. "Try to find the range that works well with the weapon you're using now." "Got it!" Pit affirmed. "You can always trust an angel to find the best tool for a job!" After all of that scuffling, Pit finally took down the Space Kraken for good. "Calamaried!" he exclaimed in victorious. "What a sucker..." said Palutena. Pit then saw the Three Sacred Treasures Case, rushed over to it, and picked it up. "Hey look!" he exclaimed. "Check it out!" "The Three Sacred Treasures must be inside," said Palutena. "Hm," wondered Pit. "The box has really held up well." "It is less pixelated than I remember," said Palutena as she opened up a light pillar and whisked Pit back to her temple.

A few moments later, Lucifer arrived at the Space-Pirate Ship's control room. "Huh. Looks like my brother got his weaponry back," he said. "At least he didn't tell the Goddess of Light anything about us. Otherwise, he would've blown our cover. Anyways, I better put MY weaponry in a safe place now. Minions! Get over here at once!" As on queue, all of the Space Pirates arrived. "Oh, that's right. We can't for get the captain," said Lucifer. "Space Kraken, let go of their leader right now!" Suddenly, the Kraken itself came out of the Galactic Sea and spat out the Space Pirate Captain from its mouth. "You're lucky that you're my bioweapon I created out of the Space Pirates' DNA in case there were intruders to slow us down," Lucifer continued. "Otherwise I would've dismantled your parts right on the spot. But anyways, you should know why I called you here." He then took out his Three Sacred Treasures as he continued, "As you know, Captain, I'm going to give you my weaponry for safe keeping. I'll be needing them in the future, but for now, I must get back to my work in collecting more sinful souls of different mortals. Take the Three Sacred Treasures to the Treasure Room and keep them safe there. After that, head across the Galactic Sea to continue with your crimes." He gave the Captain the Three Sacred Treasures and he walked to the Treasure Room to store them for safe keeping. "Excellent. We're just getting closer to the beginning of our master plan," said Lucifer. "Alright, minions. You're free to go now. I'll be heading back to the Void to rest while Icarus prepares himself to face Medusa and her minions. Once she's dead, her soul will be ours for the ritual." He then opened up a portal, entered it to head to the Void, and it closed back up again. The Space Pirate Captain came back and ordered his army to get everything ready before taking off to collect more constellations. The Space Kraken dove back into the Galactic Sea in case of a surprise attack on its foes.
