In the military camp's office, Brick and Jen stood by the doors as Otto sat in a chair in front of a desk where Officer Killgahen sat in front of the boy.
"Oswald Rocket..." Officer Killgahen started to say before he looked over his clipboard on the boy's dossier. "Rocket... what kinda last name is that?" he then demanded.
"I-I think it's American, sir?" Otto replied.
"American, huh? Oh, we've had some trouble with your type," Officer Killgahen remarked as he glared at the boy. "Some independent streak: talking back to commanding officers, trying to sneak off after lights out, a real discipline problem, but I don't think we'll be having any more trouble from you, will we, Mr. Oswald Rocket?" he then demanded sternly.
"Oh, no, sir!" Otto replied as bravely as he could.
"We're going to make a camper out of you, Rocket," Officer Killgahen smirked. "It's not gonna be easy and it's not gonna be fun, but we're going to do it. Because that's what we do here at Spengler Military Academy. And may I say, we do it very well."
"So you say." Otto muttered to himself.
"What was that, Rocket?" Officer Killgahen demanded firmly.
"I said, uh, yes, sir!" Otto covered up.
"Perhaps you have better potential than Chet Zipper, but you definitely have a real attitude problem," Officer Killgahen told Otto firmly. "Unless you have anything else to tell me regarding yourself or your fellow campers, you are dismissed and MacArthur will escort you back to your bunk."
"Well, I-" Otto began to say until he blinked. "Uh, anything to tell you about my fellow campers?" he then asked curiously.
"I believe that's what I just said," Officer Killgahen demanded. "You gonna make me repeat myself?" he then added sternly.
"No, sir, but I might have some interesting information for you after all." Otto replied before he smirked a bit.
"Well, get on with it!" Officer Killgahen barked at him. "I don't have all night and neither do you unless you wanna spend the next four hours tomorrow peeling onions while everyone else is doing push-ups and sit-ups!"
"Actually, it involves your daughter, sir." Otto replied.
"This better be good, Rocket," Officer Killgahen narrowed his eyes. "You weren't hoping to hold hands with her by the lake like Patterson, were you?"
"What? Ew, no! I would never do that to a girl like Miranda Kill-" Otto grimaced and denied until he grinned sheepishly. "Erm... I mean..."
"Tick-Tock, Rocket..." Officer Killgahen sneered.
"Ah, right..." Otto nodded as he decided to speak up. "So, about your daughter... she's sorta somewhere else right now."
"And where would she be right now?" Officer Killgahen demanded.
"Across the lake at Camp Caprice." Otto explained.
"Is that right?" Officer Killgahen scoffed in disbelief at first before he looked over to the two teenagers by the door. "Masterson! Check the living quarters for my daughter!" he commanded Jen.
"Sir, yes, sir!" Jen replied as she saluted him and took off.
"You had better be telling the truth, Rocket." Officer Killgahen glared.
"It's not just your daughter, sir," Otto then said. "It's also Patterson as well as those guys, Doran and Froud."
"MacArthur, check for those two." Officer Killgahen then commanded Brick.
"Sir, yes, sir!" Brick nodded as he also saluted the man and took off.
Otto then stood up and was about to leave out the door himself.
"Hold it, Rocket!" Officer Killgahen snapped at him. "I need to keep you here to make sure you're true to your word or you will be given the most severe punishment of your life. You thought working at your father's Surf Shack or whatever it's called was boring and cruel before, YOU AIN'T SEEN NOTHING YET!"
"Uh, it's called The Shore Shack, sir." Otto corrected.
"I DON'T CARE!" Officer Killgahen snapped at him.
Otto winced and rubbed the inside of his left ear as that startled him and hurt him a little.
MEANWHILE...
Inside one of the cabins of Camp Caprice, Miranda, Darren, Mike, and Sam were getting settled in as Macie was bandaging Darren.
"Then I cramped at the halfway mark and The Little Seal Girl here had to come rescue me." Miranda said to the others as she laid down on a sleeping bag.
"Rescue? Oh, no, I hardly... no, I sure didn't... Would you say?" Macie replied bashfully.
"You did just fine, Macie," Zoey smiled. "I'm proud of you even if you broke one of the camp rules."
"Thank you, Zoey." Macie smiled back at that.
"Yeah, you swam all the way to come get me." Miranda smirked.
"Way to go!" Darren added as he patted Macie on the head. "I'm just glad to be away from Spengler," he then added. "Man, if I had to do another push-up or had to eat another helping of mystery stew, I'd just lose it!"
"And you guys," Dakota said to Mike and Sam. "What were you thinking about tracking us down like that?"
"We're sorry, girls, but we were gonna miss you this summer," Sam frowned. "We just wanted to come see you."
"Yeah, it was an act of true love." Mike added.
"Aww... how romantic," Courtney beamed. "Isn't that ever so romantic, Miranda?" she then asked.
"Sure, romantically cheesy." Miranda snarked.
"Well, we appreciate you trying to come see us, but do you see how much trouble it caused?" Zoey said to her and Dakota's boyfriends. "We're not mad at you or anything, but you would probably be better off if you just waited back home."
"Yeah, but it just wouldn't be the same without you," Mike said softly. "After all, Zoey, you're the best thing that's ever happened to me."
"Aww..." Courtney beamed while Miranda rolled her eyes.
"Thanks, Mike, you're special to me too." Zoey smiled at her boyfriend warmly.
"And Sam, you are to me too, but you guys would've been fine back home if you waited patiently and occupied your time," Dakota added to her boyfriend. "Don't you play Monsters & Mazes with people like Carl Chryniszzswics or your cousin, Harold McGrady?" she then added.
"Yeah, but it wouldn't be the same if I couldn't tell you about it." Sam admitted sheepishly.
"Oh, Sam..." Dakota sighed and smiled a bit.
"Could you be any more nerdy?" Miranda rolled her eyes at Sam. "I guess that sorta stuff doesn't fade with age and you're just doomed to be a major geek like Sam Dullard or Jimmy Neutron."
"Hey! You leave Sam Dullard alone!" Macie complained.
"Ooh... this just got more interesting..." Miranda smirked a bit.
Ginger was soon heard giggling as she laid down on her own sleeping bag. "You're so funny, Sasha~"
"Sasha?" Darren asked which suddenly woke Ginger up. "Who's Sasha?"
"I said squash-a..." Ginger covered up.
"Squash-a?" Zoey asked her cousin out of disbelief.
"I mean, that's what's in the mystery stew, huh?" Ginger explained bashfully. "Squash-a?"
"Hmm... right." Darren replied, having a suspicious look on his face.
"Look, it's very late for all of us, so I think we should just call it a night before anything else happens." Zoey suggested.
"I second that." Dakota nodded.
Suddenly, there was a knock at the door.
"Uh, did anyone order pizza by any chance?" Mike asked.
"Very funny..." Dakota rolled her eyes at that.
Zoey soon decided to get the door for everyone else's sake, opening the door partway in case it was Margie until she saw a different face which surprised her. "Lil DeVille?" she then asked, seeing the younger brunette girl with a pillow in her arm and a sleeping bag in the other.
"I can't spend another night with The Beauty Queens of Ferociously Loud Snoring," Lil said, sounding very irritated and cranky right now. "And I thought Phil was bad when we used to share a room together."
"Uh, well, okay, I guess you can stay with us, as long as you promise to keep a secret." Zoey smiled bashfully.
"More secrets?" Lil rolled her eyes. "Fine. Just let me in."
"Yes, of course, Lil." Zoey nodded as she opened the door.
Lil soon trudged inside before her eyes widened as she saw Darren, Miranda, Mike, and Sam. "...what're these guys doing-" she then began to ask.
"Good night, Lil." Zoey suddenly said.
"Hmph... whatever..." Lil rolled her eyes and went to get settled in a corner that hadn't already been taken.
Zoey sighed in relief before closing the cabin door, then went to go join the others for a deep sleep.
However, as everyone else went to sleep, not everyone was.
"I can't believe we missed 'Cruising the Virgins' for this!" Courtney scoffed as she caught up with Miranda.
"I told you camp was lame." Miranda smirked smugly.
"Lame may be the understatement of the summer," Courtney replied before she took out a little book. "I've been using my day planner to count the days until this whole nightmare is over and it's-" she then stopped until she realized the days were about all filled up. "It's over!" she then cheered as she jumped up to her feet.
"Shh." Dakota shushed and reminded her cousin that other people were sleeping right now.
"Courtney, what's wrong with you?" Miranda asked her best friend.
"Goodbye, musty cabin! Goodbye, tacky little uniforms! And goodbye, annoying camp anthem!" Courtney cheered as she walked about the cabin in excitement while everyone else soon woke up.
"Darn, and I finally got some sleep this summer." Lil complained since Courtney woke her up.
"I am so sorry about that." Dakota said to her.
"The anthem!" Courtney gasped as she checked the alarm clock. "Where's that annoying anthem?"
"Oh, my gosh!" Dodie panicked. "That is definitely not a good sign!"
"What're you guys talking about?" Darren asked out of confusion.
"Yeah, what's so bad about the anthem not playing?" Mike added.
"The only time the morning anthem doesn't play is when something really serious has happened." Dodie explained nervously.
"You guys gotta get out of here before Margie or anyone else sees you!" Zoey told Darren, Miranda, Mike, and Sam.
"Good morning, morning, campers." Margie's voice announced on the PA in a stern tone of voice.
"Too late." Ginger gulped.
"Today is a solemn day indeed," Margie continued to announce. "Last night, for the first time in Camp Caprice history, 14 rules were broken in less than 24 hours. We also have reason to believe that there are four fugitives from Spengler Military Academy hiding out in the Navaho Girls' Bunk. When the gong sounds, the entire camp is asked to assemble at the campfire site."
"How could they have found out about you guys?" Lil wondered to Mike, Sam, Miranda, and Darren.
"This was an anonymous tip given to us by someone by the name of Oswald Rocket," Margie continued as Miranda began to look enraged all of a sudden. "That is all, all, all."
"Otto Rocket! I should've known he'd snitch on me!" Miranda glared and shook her fist.
"What about the rest of us?" Darren reminded Miranda.
"Yeah, he snitched on you guys too, but when I see him, I'm gonna kick his butt." Miranda replied.
"Oh, this is it!" Dodie frowned as she felt like this was the end of her world. "After all my hard work, it's over, over, over!"
Ginger frowned and put her hand on Dodie's shoulder in comfort.
"What's gonna happen to us?" Sam wondered.
"I don't know, but I'm hoping we don't get in so much trouble like Lo in time for a week after we come back home from Camp Caprice." Dakota sighed and pouted. "With that surprise I promised."
"Surprise?" Sam asked with wide eyes.
"Well, I guess you might as well know now since you're here, but me and Courtney were gonna visit our grandaunt in Paris," Dakota explained to her boyfriend. "I was gonna invite you to come with us because I knew you would probably miss me a lot this summer so she invited us over after Camp Caprice is done and before we go back to school." she then added.
"Aww... Now I really wish I waited back home." Sam sighed in dismay.
"Who's your grandaunt?" Mike randomly asked Dakota.
"Madame Adelaide Bonfamille," Dakota explained. "You may have heard of her, she was a famous opera singer back in the day."
"Oh, yeah, I've heard of her," Mike nodded. "She did that opera Carmen one year, right? My mom has a record of that."
"Yes, that's her," Courtney explained to him. "She's a very sweet old lady."
"And we're her favorite grandnieces and Blake is her favorite grandnephew," Dakota added. "I was hoping to surprise you with that invitation when we got back home, Sam, to make up for going away to Camp Caprice."
Sam then glared at Mike and crossed his arms, causing Mike to chuckle sheepishly and shrug.
Soon, everyone began to gather around the campsite for the required assembly. Reggie whispered to Eliza and pointed at Courtney once they both saw the blonde rich girl.
"Will the entire Navaho girls' cabin, The Cabin Big Sisters, and the four Spengler fugitives please come up to the front for the reading of 14 camp rules which were broken," Margie demanded as the group nervously faced each other and soon came over to the front as they were told. "Three counts of breaking curfew, one count of swimming in the lake without supervision, two counts of illegal use of camp equipment, four counts of failing to report a violation of Caprice rules, four counts in the illegal deliverance of non-Caprice campers of Camp Caprice grounds, three counts of having members of the opposite sex spend the night in an all girls' cabin." she then listed.
The other girls gasped and chattered at that, causing Darren, Mike, and Sam to look nervous as they were singled out like that.
"Margie, with all due respect, that was only 13 broken rules," Macie piped up. "I counted."
"And one count of chewing gum at an assembly!" Margie then glared at her suddenly. "Spit it out, Macie!"
"Oh, sorry," Macie said before spitting her gum out into a wrapper. "That's 14, yep."
"Those numbers still don't add up." Sam whispered to Dakota.
"Maybe she can't do math." Dakota whispered back.
"Today should've been a day for color war, water fights, and signing yearbooks," Margie continued to tell the campers. "Instead, today will be the day that the entire Navaho girls' cabin was permanently suspended from Camp Caprice."
"Harsh." Mike and Zoey winced at that.
"Dodie, your whistle please." Margie requested.
Dodie soon gasped dramatically and went to give up the whistle even though she clearly really did not want to. "Margie? May I say something?" she then asked through her tears once they itched her eyes.
"I suppose so." Margie allowed.
"If you suspend the Navaho girls, then you suspend everything that Camp Caprice stands for." Dodie then said as bravely as she could.
"That's right!" Ginger added as she also took a stand. "Across the lake is Spengler Military Camp, four of our friends were having the worst summer of their lives!"
"Can we help it if we have camp spirit, spirit, spirit?" Macie added firmly.
"Are we not supposed to spread it far so we can feel it?" Zoey helped out before she smiled at Ginger. "I'm proud of you by the way." she then whispered.
"Thanks, you aren't too bad yourself." Ginger whispered back to her cousin.
"Yes, but the rules clearly say-" Margie was about to retort.
"I mean, just look at Macie," Zoey said as she put her arm around the bespectacled girl. "She conquered her fear of swimming to help someone who was in trouble."
"Can you penalize her for that?" Ginger added bravely.
"Heck, no! I couldn't!" Jed replied as he stood up.
"Let's settle down, everyone." Margie suggested as the campers started to agree with their fellow campers.
"Well, how about Dodie?" Macie then suggested. "She acted very, very responsibly! What she should have done when four campers were in danger? Turn the other cheek?" she then added rhetorically.
"No! No way!" The other campers jeered.
"When four miserable, cold, tired friends the Navaho girls stowed away in the middle of the night, what would've been the Camp Caprice thing to do?" Dodie soon added to Margie bravely. "Send them packing?"
The other girls continued to cheer.
"Why, we Navaho girls have loads of camp spirit!" Courtney spoke up as she stood up for herself as well. "And if having camp spirit is wrong, we don't wanna be right!"
The girls continued to cheer in excitement over what was going on as this definitely made Camp Caprice history.
"You go, girls!" Jed cheered.
"She really doesn't seem that bad, Reggie." Eliza whispered to the purple-haired girl next to her.
"Hmph." Reggie frowned deeply and crossed her arms.
Courtney soon came up on stage along with Zoey and Dakota as they joined Ginger, Macie, and Dodie's sides. Margie looked defeated and soon stepped away since she no longer had any say in this matter.
"Sorry if I was a bit of a wet quilt this summer, girls," Courtney said to the other girls her age. "I know it might be a little late in the game, but I'm actually having fun!"
"I'm very proud of you, Courtney." Dakota smiled at her cousin.
"We owe you an apology too, CG. Macie replied.
"Yeah..." Ginger agreed and admitted. "We could've tried a little harder."
"To make you feel at home." Dodie added.
"Yeah, exactly." Zoey nodded.
"Think nothing of it, girls," Courtney smiled. "You just treated me how I treated you during the school year. No hard feelings." She then added maturely.
"Wow, Courtney! That was really-" Dodie began.
"Insightful of you!" Ginger added proudly.
"I know," Courtney smirked. "But don't think it means things are gonna be any different come September. Miranda, Dakota, let's blow this popsicle joint." she then told her best friend and cousin.
They soon walked off together as Reggie glared at them as they headed off together. Ginger looked back and forth from the microphone before looking over at Zoey a bit.
"Go ahead, Ginger," Zoey encouraged her cousin. "You look like you have something on your mind."
"Yeah, I do." Ginger nodded.
"Well, go on ahead," Zoey smiled. "I'm sure whatever you have to say, it'll be nice to hear."
"Thanks, Zo," Ginger replied as she soon went over to the microphone. "Excuse me? Since we're all speaking our mind, I'd like to follow a piece of advice that a very smart little girl once gave me. She said, 'When you feel strongly about something, you're supposed to let it out'," she then quoted before looking over at the little girl as Macie, Dodie, Dakota, and Zoey began to climb off the stage. "Melanie, can I borrow your guitar one more time?" she then asked.
Melanie smiled as she approached Ginger with the guitar while Sasha looked stubborn a bit. Reggie then saw that Sam, Dakota, Courtney, and Miranda were about to leave Camp Caprice together and she soon went to catch up with them.
"I wrote this song for you, Sasha," Ginger told the boy she really liked once she had the guitar before strumming the strings. "There were copper-colored ponies, There was air that smelled like rain, And the moon was out in daytime, When I first learned your name~" she then started to sing.
"Sounds serious." Macie said bashfully as she sat next to Jed.
Jed gave her a polite smile as she began to scooch closer next to him.
"And though the clouds, they quickly moved in, Though the path looked overgrown, The time that I spent talking to you, Made me feel like I was home~" Ginger then sang and smiled as the music began to fade away.
Sasha smiled from the song as he sat next to his little sister. Mike and Zoey also smiled at each other as the song helped remind them of when they first met on Revenge of the Island and though they had some issues, they managed to work them out like Sam and Dakota. Speaking of which...
The four were headed to the docks, about to leave Camp Caprice until...
"HOLD IT RIGHT THERE, COURTNEY GRIPLING!" A voice demanded.
The four of them flinched before they looked around and then saw a certain someone glowering at them, though mostly Courtney.
"Reggie Rocket?" Dakota asked.
"What's she doing here?" Miranda wondered.
"I haven't the foggiest idea." Courtney remarked.
"This doesn't concern the rest of you," Reggie told the other four as she glared right at Courtney. "This is between me and this tiny Barbie doll."
"Well! I never!" Courtney gasped.
"What's going on here?" Sam wondered and whispered to Dakota.
"I don't know, but I don't like the looks of it." Dakota whispered back as Reggie glared at Courtney.
