And here we have my favorite chapter, chapter eleven, of the Evil Route. Unfortunately, this will not be the case for our angel hero, who's still working with his evil brother. If you want to know more about what is going on between them, read along to find out. You already know the disclaimer, so sit back and enjoy!
Chapter 11: Viridi, Goddess of Nature + DLC: An Ally of the Enemy
No music playing yet
Pit rushed to the door with the Tiger Claws equipped for the mission. "Officer Pit reporting for duty!" he said as he leaped through the door and flew into the sky. Suddenly, he dived down to a battlefield where he saw humans fighting over one another. "The humans have fallen for Hades' hoax," said Palutena, sadly. "They're killing themselves over that fantasy." "It looks like entire nations are fighting each other," Pit exclaimed in fear. "The Underworld Army is here to gather souls," Palutena explained. "Clearly, they expect many casualties. We can't stop a war this big right now. Focus on the Underworld Army." "Roger!" Pit affirmed and he proceeded to take down the Underworld enemies. During all of this, Lucifer was watching the whole arena unfold in front of his eyes. "Looks like those foolish mortals have fallen for the Underworld ruler's lie," he said. "I must head over there and kill different mortals to steal their souls." He then flew into the battlefield to killed the humans. Back to Pit, who is still taking down more Underworld enemies and witnessing the bloodlust battlefield. "So things are going exactly as Hades planned," he said. But I wonder where Lucifer is... he added in thought. I'm sensing his presence somewhere, but I can't seem to figure out where he is. "He spread the rumor about the Wish Seed," said Palutena. "And the humans were gullible enough to believe it." She then guided Pit through the battlefield to take down more enemies. "If only we'd had a chance to tell them the Wish Seed was a fake," Pit continued, sadly. "Now look at them. It's like they've lost their humanity, and all they have left is...brutality!" He then continued to take down more and more Underworld enemies. Suddenly, Palutena noticed a bright light shining in the sky, and something big was coming down. She gasped. "What's wrong?!" Pit asked, worried. "I have to pull you back NOW!" Palutena replied as she quickly increased the Power of Flight's power to get Pit out of there. "Huh?" Pit wondered before he turned around. "WHOA!" Lucifer noticed the light, too, while he was killing so many humans and taking their souls. "Fuck! I know that object!" he yelled. "Looks like I better take my leave with the souls I have gathered so far and fast!" He then snapped his fingers to open up a Void portal and went into it as fast as he could before closing it. Pit, meanwhile, flew away from the battlefield just in time before the giant the giant ball of light eliminated all of the humans with one giant explosion.
Music playing: Viridi, Goddess of Nature
The angel managed to get away from the explosion in time before it could catch him. "W-what was that?" he wondered, trying to comprehend what he just witnessed. Just then, he heard another voice, who was proud of her cause of destruction. "Ha ha ha ha ha ha!" she laughed. "Nice shot, if I do say so myself!" Soon, the shadowed figured projection revealed herself. Viridi, the Goddess of Nature. "Good riddance, human scum!" she continued. "The world's better off without you!" Her projection soon disappeared. "That was the Goddess of Nature, Viridi," Palutena explained. "Pit! Go check things out!" "I'm on it!" the angel complied and proceeded to take down new enemies sent by Viridi. The two goddess then started to communicate with each other. "So you're the famous Palutena," said Viridi. "I hear you've been busy." "And you're Viridi, ruler of the Earth and all living things," Palutena responded. Although it's strange that you don't remember me that much, she added in thought. "Hmph!" Viridi scoffed. "I didn't know I had a fan club." "WHY HAVE YOU DONE THIS?!" Pit shouted, demanding for answers. "Humans are driven by selfish desire," Viridi explained. "They think only of themselves. They were killing each other for what? A wish?! A FAKE wish?! They've strayed too far from their intended path. That's where my Reset Bombs come in—to help return Earth to its natural state!" "But aren't humans living beings too?" asked Palutena. "Yet you think nothing of exterminating them." "Ha ha!" Viridi laughed. "That's rich coming from you! You don't seem to have much of a problem slaughtering Underworld forces." "But that's totally different!" Pit countered. "We're defending the earth and heavens from those who seek their destruction," Palutena joined in as she guided Pit into the twisted forest. He continued to take down new enemies while Palutena guided him closer into the twisted Reset Bomb Forest. "Let's take a closer look, Pit," she said. Pit then entered the forest and is intrigued to what he witnessed from within it. "This is a pretty twisted version of Nature," he said. "HUMANS massacre Earth's creatures, decimate the trees, and exploit the land," Viridi argued. "THEY'RE the twisted ones. They're enemies of life itself! Tell me, Palutena, why do they deserve special treatment?!" "Because, of all creatures, humans are closest to the gods," Palutena answered. "Gods cannot intervene in mankind's affairs as you have. You have no right." But this made Viridi even more furious. "No right?!" she yelled "Humans are trampling over the rights of every other living thing! Should I just sit back and watch as they continue to destroy the Earth? No, I must exterminate them all before it's too late! Not only that, the humans must also pay for burning an entire forest to the ground!" "Wait what?!" both Pit and Palutena exclaimed, simultaneously. "I will avenge all of Nature the humans ruthlessly massacred!" Viridi continued. "And I cannot allow you to interfere with my plans!" "There's just no reasoning with her," said Palutena, sadly. That and she is also just like her many years ago during that war... she added in thought. Could it mean that it's happening again? If so, then who would've caused this? Also why would Viridi think that the humans burned the forest to the ground? I thought it was the Underworld... "I have to admit, she has a valid point," said Pit, interrupting Palutena's thoughts after receiving four more Recovery Orbs. "But wiping out humanity is NOT the answer." "I agree completely," Palutena agreed. "You've given us no choice but to oppose you, Viridi." "Oh! That's brave of you, but the Forces of Nature... We're not what you're used to," Viridi laughed. Meanwhile, Lucifer was watching his brother fight against the Forces of Nature. "So, our enemies have returned," he said. "I must wait until the time is right to assist my brother." Back to Pit, who still managed to take down the Forces of Nature's troops. "I'm surprised you've survived this long, Pit," said Viridi. "I'll take that as a compliment!" replied Pit. "I think it's time you meet one of my finest warriors," Viridi announced and then called out someone. "Come on out, Cragalanche!" Suddenly, a yellow spear came out right in front of Pit and hit him, causing him to lose balance and tumble down. "Whooooooooooa!" he yelled as he was falling down. "Pit!" Palutena cried.

Pit slowly woke up after that big crash he landed in the Reset Bomb Forest. "Ugggghh..." he groaned. "Are you OK, Pit?" asked Palutena. Pit nodded "yes" in affirmation and then ate the food. "Now, Pit, you are the captain of Palutena's guard, yes?" Viridi asked and Pit nodded "yes" again. "I look forward to seeing how you fare against Cragalanche," Viridi continued. "You should be more worried about how HE fares against ME!" Pit boasted. "Careful, Pit," Palutena warned. "I need you in good shape. Besides you, all I've got are the centurions. You know, maybe I should open a boot camp to toughen them up." "Still wouldn't give them muscles like these!" said Pit. Along the way, while he was defeating more Forces of Nature troops, he came across some humans who were still alive. "Good!" he exclaimed in relief. "There are survivors!" "They're a stubborn bunch, hanging on like that," said Palutena. "Set as many free as you can." "Uh...stubborn?" Pit asked, confused. "Oh, I didn't mean it like that," Palutena replied. "Maybe what you meant to say was 'insignificant,'" said Viridi. When Pit rescued a human, they will give him an item as a reward. That human gave Pit a Grenade to help in his aid. But unfortunately for him, he couldn't seem to find a way out of the forest. Suddenly, a portal opened up in front of him and Lucifer came out of it. "You're not getting out of here alive, mortal," he said. "I'll just slice you to pieces with my 'Special Weapon.' Then, I'll devour your corpse whole and your soul will be ours for the ritual!" He then took out his "Special Weapon" and killed the human by slicing, dicing, and ripping the human apart into pieces with it. After he killed him, he then ate his corpse whole. When he was done eating, the human's soul began floating in midair. "Excellent. Now to take the soul to the ritual circle and wait until my brother rescues more mortals so that I could take more of their souls," he said as he snapped his fingers to open the portal, took the soul, and entered the portal before closing it. Pit continued onwards while taking out more troops from the Forces of Nature. He then rescued another human and that one gave him chocolate as a "thank you." Unfortunately, he couldn't find the way out, just a simple slicing and dicing from Lucifer's "Special Weapon." "Delicious meat for my belly!" he gasped between breaths and chomped down the corpse. "Now to take the soul for the ritual." After he was done eating, he took the human's soul and went back into the Void. Pit dove deeper into the forest. "I can still make out buildings in this forest," he said. "There must have been a town here," said Palutena. "Reset Bombs won't harm wildlife or natural habitats," Viridi explained. "Their only purpose is the obliteration of humankind." "Oh, is that all?" Pit questioned. "I suppose that accounts for all the life in here," said Palutena. "In a few years, this place will be completely covered in green," Viridi continued. "Flowers will bloom, trees will grow, and the natural food chain will take over. It will be mankind's winter and the beginning of MY spring!" Pit still continued on his way will taking down more Forces of Nature troops. Pit then continued onwards and found a Hot Spring puddle. "It looks like there used to be a Hot Spring here," said Palutena. "Wait! There's a little water left!" exclaimed Pit. "Do you soak in every random puddle that crosses your path?" Viridi questioned. Pit wasted no time and entered the Hot Spring puddle to relax for a moment. "What's with you and hot springs?" Viridi asked. "What's with you and not minding your own business?" replied Pit, blushing embarrassingly. Lucifer was still waiting in the Void as he heard Pit say that. "Now's still not the time for funny business!" he groaned with a facepalm. After that little relaxation, despite it being so short, Pit continued onwards and took down more enemies. He then took a Jump Pad to go up. "Hugh! Ah!" he said as he hopped and landed somewhere in the forest. "Where am I?" he wondered. He then took down more enemies and found another human. He rescued him and the human gave Pit chocolate as a "thank you." But while he was trying to find a way out, he encountered Lucifer, who just came out of the portal he recently opened and sliced and diced the human with his "Special Weapon." "Fresh...meat..." he gasped and then chomped at the corpse whole. "Ahh... So delicious..." he sighed after finishing his meal. "Now to take the soul back into the Void for the ritual." He then took the human soul and entered back into the Void before closing the portal back up. Pit still took down more enemies until he reached a path that seemed to be unreachable. "You can't go any farther, so I've set up a Grind Rail," said Palutena. "Thank you kindly!" Pit responded. "It's tangled in there, so I had to wind it around the trees," Palutena continued. "Calling you a snake would be an insult to snakes!" Viridi commented. "But you are crafty. I'll give you that." Pit continued on his way in fighting more Forces of Nature enemies, until he came across a strange one. "Man, look at the face on this guy!" he exclaimed. "That's a Jitterthug," Viridi explained. "Melee attacks won't hurt him at all when he's red. And when he's green, shooting him won't work! What are you going to do NOW?!" "Uh..." Pit thought for a moment before realizing something. "I guess I'll just melee him when he's green and shoot him when he's red!" "But..." Viridi stuttered. "Oh, darn it!" "Thanks for the advice!" Palutena giggled. "When a Jitterthug is green, melee him. When he's red, shoot him!" Pit soon took out the Jutterthug and rescued another human. He gave Pit some chocolate as a "thank you" and Pit continued onwards by hopping in to a Grind Rail. But, as you can tell, the human ended up the same fate when he tried to escape from Lucifer's grasp once he got out of the portal he opened. "Your soul is MINE!" he roared and ripped the human apart into pieces. He then ate the corpse whole and sighed after finishing his meal. "Much better. Now to take the soul for the ritual," he said as he took the soul and went back into the Void before closing the portal back up. Pit, meanwhile, hopped off the Grind Rail and found an Aeither Ring. "An Aether Ring!" he exclaimed. "You're a lucky angel, Pit," said Palutena. "Believe me, I know," Pit responded. "These things drive smoooooth!" "Plus, they provide protection AND firepower," said Palutena. "Is that good design or WHAT!" Pit then took a slope to go down the next level. He continued to go down the slope until he reached the next level. "This place is big," he gasped in amazement. "There's another Aether Ring in the middle of that giant tree," Palutena pointed out. "But why there?" Pit wondered. "Ask Viridi," Palutena responded. "I installed it for my army to use," Viridi explained. "...But no one passed Driver's Ed." "I'm not surprised," Palutena commented. "I can't believe you didn't think of that before," Pit sighed in disbelief. "You were attacking! I was busy! Leave me alone!" Viridi groaned. Devil Pit heard that conversation and facepalmed. "I was right to call you an idiotic moron," he said. "Your minions don't even HAVE hands. Kind of like Pandora when she couldn't use an Exo Tank because she didn't have hands. Makes a sense of déjà vu, eh?" He then continued onwards to follow Pit quietly. Back to Pit, who decided to hop into the other Aeither Ring because of having full health in it and took down more enemies. After that, he used a Jump Pad to move onwards. He then fell into a Hot Spring pool. "What is this?" he exclaimed. "A Hot Spring! A HUGE Hot Spring!" "It's Nature's bathtub," said Palutena. Viridi, however, was silent about noticing something unfamiliar. For some reason, I have a feeling there's something wrong with him, she thought. I don't know why I feel this way, but I think I better get to the bottom of it soon. Back to Pit, who just used a Jump Pad to hop out of the Hot Spring and into a large area. "There's a maze up ahead," said Palutena. "Try not to get too lost." Pit then found the way to get going into the maze and took down more Forces of Nature enemies. Along the way, Palutena was wondering about something. " Viridi's army is called the Forces of Nature," she began. "Many of her troops are made of natural resources, like wood, dirt, and rocks." "Eco-conscious down to her troops!" said Pit. "Everyone's going green these days." "I'm not GOING green; I've always BEEN green," said Viridi. "I use cloth shopping bags. I compost my food scraps. And I separate my recycling into 15 types!" "Now THIS is a goddess who sweats the details," said Pit, surprised. "I could learn a thing or two from her," said Palutena. Just like her before her death during that war, she added in thought. And HE was the one responsible for it. Pit later found another human and rescued him. The human gave Pit a Grenade as a "thank you" and Pit used it to take down more enemies. But unfortunately, the human met his demise when he ran into Lucifer, who got out of the Void portal. "Another mortal soul for the ritual!" Lucifer growled as he sliced, diced, and ripped the human into pieces! After that was done, he began chowing down the corpse like there was no tomorrow. "Delicious..." he sighed after finishing his meal. "Now to take the soul." He then took the soul into his hands and went back into the Void before closing the portal back up. it, meanwhile, was now getting closer to Cragalanche. "I think you're getting close to Cragalanche!" Palutena pointed out. That is until more enemies appeared. "I'll just take care of these guys first!" Pit exclaimed. He then took down all of the enemies with no problems. "OK, let's go," said Palutena. Pit then used a Jump Pad to get to where he needed to be. After arriving to his destination, he drank another Drink of the Gods and entered the arena to face his foe.

There Pit saw a pile of rocks, which then revealed to have glowing red eyes. Cragalanche then burst the rocks apart and revealed himself. "Cragalanche, huh?" Pit taunted. "What are you, a monster truck?" "Pit, huh?" Viridi countered. "What are YOU? A hole in the ground?" The battle began with Pit and Cragalanche attacking each other, although Cragalanche didn't appear do have too much damage taken due to him being a literal pile of rocks. He also didn't seem to be talking that much and was silent the entire battle. "Guy doesn't talk much, does he?" Pit wondered. "He's a rock," Viridi explained. "Last I checked, they're more the strong, silent type. Tell you what—I'll do the talking for him." She then began talked in a silly and deep voice, "Cragalanche crush!" Pit and Craglanche continued to fight each other and Pit was impressed by his enemy's moves. "Wow!" he said, surprised. "Nice moves!" "Yes, he's been practicing this routine all week," said Viridi. Pit continued to fight against Cragalanche, but he didn't seem to be doing that much damange. "Attacking Cragalanche straight on won't do much damage," explained Palutena. "Swing around him to attack him from behind. To do this, keep your eyesight fixed on him, get up close, and dash left or right." "Uhhh..." said Pit. "I'll just check the How to Play movies for details." Lucifer was still in the Void and heard that. "I hate it when you say that, idiot!" he groaned with a facepalm. "Stop messing around and focus on our mission!" Suddenly, Pit noticed something on Craglanche's butt. "It looks like there's a weak spot on his butt!" he said. "Arrgh!" Viridi groaned. "Oh, he was supposed to get that fixed!" "Thanks for the tip!" thanked Pit. "I didn't say anything!" Viridi stuttered. "It's butt-kicking time! Literally!" Pit laughed. "Oh, shut up!" Viridi yelled. "You're not clever at all!" espite being so powerful, Cragalanche was indeed having his butt kicked. Pit gave his enemy loads of damage until Cragalanche was finally defeated. "In your rock face!" he exclaimed in victory. "That's your idea of a victory taunt? Please." Viridi scoffed. After that tough battle, Cragalanche slowly tumbled backwards until he collapsed to the ground.

Pit was about to leave until he noticed a portal open up right in front of him. "Huh?" he wondered. After that, Lucifer came out of the portal. "Take off the laurel crown right now," he ordered. "B-But..." Pit started. "I said RIGHT! NOW!" Lucifer shouted. Pit soon reluctantly removed the laurel crown and tossed it aside quickly. "Good. Oh, and don't worry about those goddesses," Lucifer continued. "I blocked them so that way, they won't be able to notice what is going to happen." As he predicted, Palutena and Viridi couldn't contact their allies. "Pit? What's going on? Why can't I contact you?!" the Goddess of Light asked in worry. "Cragalanche! Are you okay? I can't seem to contact you or bring you back!" Viridi exclaimed. "Lucifer! Are you sure about this?" Pit asked. "Listen. Remember the 'Gaia' person I was telling you about?" Lucifer started. "Well...yes...?" Pit replied. "Listen, Gaia was the first Goddess of Nature who killed our parents," Lucifer continued. "As you can tell, Viridi possesses the same powers because she is the Second Goddess of Nature and Gaia's daughter. Cragalanche is one of the allies of our enemy!" "Wait...WHAT?!" Pit gasped. "Now listen to my orders very carefully," Lucifer continued further. "In order for our master plan to become complete, we must eliminate all of our enemies who are trying to stand in our way. This mighty warrior is one of the powerful creatures we need to kill." "B-But what about-" Pit started before getting interrupted by Lucifer. "Do as I say!" he shouted. "This is for our family legacy! We both know they wanted this! Since Cragalanche is weak and down for the count, you need to finish him off in the most satisfying way possible." Pit reluctantly complied and walked up to the near death commander. "Forgive me for doing this Craglanche. It's the orders of my brother," he apologized. Cragalanche could only widen his eyes in shock before being stabbed, shredded, and torn apart into pieces by Pit's Tiger Claws. Lucifer smiled at his brother for continuing his work for destruction. Excellent. This is excellent, he thought. My brother will soon become insane. After a while, Pit stopped his murderous crime, leaving Cragalanche nothing more than a pile of rubble. Soon, the rubble began to fade away into dust, and all that was left was his soul. "Good work, brother," said Lucifer. "Now take the soul in your hands. I'm going to open up a portal that will lead us back to the Void." Pit did as he was told and grabbed Cragalanche's soul. He also picked up his laurel crown, but doesn't put it back on yet. Lucifer snapped his fingers and opened up the Void portal. "You go on ahead. I'll catch up with you in a bit," he said. Pit nodded and went into the portal. Lucifer only looked at the Reset Bomb Forest for a while. "This forest no longer needs to exist," he continued. "I'll just have to get rid of it for the time being." He then used Pyrokinesis to burn the entire twisted forest to the ground and then entered into the portal before closing it up.

The brothers soon arrived at the ritual circle after exiting the portal. "Now then, we have gathered the soul required for the ritual," said Lucifer. "Icarus, will you do the honors?" "Well if I must..." said Pit as he placed Cragalanche's soul in the ritual circle. "Perfect. Our master plan is going smoothly," said Lucifer, delighted. "We're getting closer to completing it and create the new world we wish to rule!" "If I may ask, Lucifer, are there still more souls we need to gather here?" Pit asked. "As a matter of fact, there are indeed more souls we need for the ritual, Icarus," Lucifer replied. "But we're going to need a distraction first. We can't just kill our enemies all willy-nilly. That reminds me. Are you going out on another mission?" "Well...I can't really say I know the details..." said Pit. "Then you'll figure out the next step once Palutena tells you about it," Lucifer continued. "But before you go, there's something I need to tell you." "What is it?" Pit asked. "Remember when I told you that Viridi is Gaia's daughter and the Second Goddess of Nature?" Lucifer started. "Um...yes...?" Pit replied. "Well, Gaia was the one who murdered our parents," Lucifer continued. "And since she was already dead, only her daughter is left standing with her crimes. She must be executed once all of her allies are dead!" "W-WHAT?!" Pit yelled. "VIRIDI IS OUR PARENTS' MURDERER'S DAUGHTER?!" "Precisely," said Lucifer. "HOW IS ANY OF THIS POSSIBLE?!" Pit shouted. "I CAN'T EVEN THINK THIS THROUGH ANYMORE!" "Now now. Settle down there, brother," Lucifer continued. "Since Viridi is targeting Palutena's army, and the Underworld army is still around, our distraction will be created to slow down our enemies." And the War of Chaos will begin soon, he added in thought before continuing, "Now then, you're free to leave back to Palutena's temple. Make sure you begin the distraction, and don't tell our enemies about all of this, so that they won't get suspicious." "I understand," Pit affirmed. "Good. You're now free to go," said Lucifer as he snapped his fingers to open up a portal. Pit entered it, after putting his laurel crown back on, and was back in Palutena's temple before the portal closed back up. "Excellent. There is no way those foolish immortals will do anything to stop us," said Lucifer. "I think I'll pay Gaia's daughter a little visit." He then flew out of the Void to Viridi's temple.

Meanwhile, Palutena was in the living room of her temple waiting for her angel to arrive. "Where is he?" she wondered. "I'm starting to get a lot more worried." She was about to leave and search for him before noticing a door opening up. That door came from Pit's room and the angel himself came out of there and went to the living room. "Hey, Lady Palutena," he said. "Pit! Where on Skyworld have you been?" Palutena asked. "I was getting extremely worried about you!" "I...I don't know what happened earlier," Pit replied. "But I'm just glad that I'm here safe and sound." "Whew. That's a relief," Palutena sighed, unaware of the fact that Pit was lying. But now that Viridi has joined the fray, I'm worried that the war might start again, she added in thought. "Anyway, now that Viridi has arrived, we need to come up with a plan to slow her down," she continued. "We're going to go on a mission to stop her from getting rid of more humans." "Aye aye, Lady Palutena!" Pit affirmed. "I'll be heading back to my room and rest up." He then left to go back to his room. Palutena, however, wasn't actually sure about him. I'm having a bad feeling about Pit, she thought. Something is clearly wrong with him, but I can't seem to figure out why. I'll be getting to the bottom of that soon, but right now we need to focus on our mission.

Meanwhile, Viridi was waiting in her temple for Cragalanche to arrive back. "Ugh! Where is he?!" she groaned. "It's been almost an hour and Cragalanche hasn't returned yet!" Before she could continue waiting for him, she heard footsteps coming up to her. "Mistress Viridi! I have very bad news!" called a new voice. Viridi turned around and saw a butler-like commander walking up to her. "Arlon, what is it?" she asked him. "Can't you see I'm waiting for Cragalanche to come back?" "That's what I'm about to tell you, mistress," Arlon replied. "I don't feel his presence any longer. He must've been killed in the Reset Bomb Forest before it was burnt down!" "W-What?!" Viridi gasped. "He's dead?!" Arlon sadly nodded "yes" in response. "No! My strongest warrior is gone!" Viridi cried. "This must be the work of Palutena and her army! They're trying to take over the entire Earth itself by massacring our whole forces and innocent animals and plants! I must eliminate them at all costs along with the Underworld army!" This made Arlon frown. I can't believe she's just like her mother during that war... he thought. I have a bad feeling that it's going to begin soon. I better stop all of this soon before it gets any worse. "Arlon! Rally up all of our forces!" Viridi ordered, making Arlon snap out of his train of thoughts. "We're going to stop those two armies before they do anything worse!" "A-As you wish, Mistress Viridi," Arlon replied as be bowed before leaving the room to gather up their forces. Lucifer was outside in a secluded spot listening to their conversation. "Everything is going according to plan," he said. "Now all I have to do is wait until Icarus completes his mission before going after that 'Arlon' person later." He then left the temple by opening up a portal and entering it to go back into the Void.
