Let us advance onwards and move out to chapter twelve of the Evil Route. As you know, Pit is starting to lose his sanity once he's continually working with his evil brother. Read along to figure out what happens next. You already know the disclaimer, so sit back and enjoy!
Chapter 12: Wrath of the Reset Bomb + DLC: Distraction Action

Pit rushed to the door with the Flintlock Staff equipped with him. "I'm headin' out!" he exclaimed as he flew through the door and into the skies. Then he saw the Underworld Army and the Forces of Nature fighting each other. "The Underworld Army and the Forces of Nature are engaged in battle," said Palutena. It's just like I feared, she added in thought. Now all of us are fighting one another in the War of Chaos just like he planned. "What?" said Pit, confused. "Why are Hades and Viridi fighting?" "Isn't it obvious?" asked Viridi. "You again!" exclaimed Pit after hearing her voice. "These brutes have a complete disregard for life," Viridi continued. "They're even worse than humans!" And maybe they might be the ones responsible for burning down none one but TWO forests, she added in thought. But I don't know if it's either them or the humans... "Ho ho ho! You're one to talk, little goddess!" Hades laughed. "At least I give the humans YOU kill peace after death." Throughout all this, Lucifer was in the Void watching the battle unfold. "This is exactly what we planned," he said. "The War of Chaos has begun. This is where our master plan will go a lot more smoothly. As long as they're still distracted, we shall gain the upper hand. I just need to wait for my brother to complete his mission before moving onwards to the next step." He decided to continue waiting within the Void. Meanwhile, Pit was fighting both armies at once. "We have an opportunity here, Pit," said Palutena. "Let's use this chaos to our advantage." Even though it sounds wrong, it's the only way for them to be distracted, she added in thought. But at the same time, I have a bad feeling that something might go wrong in the future. "OK," Pit replied. "What's my target?" "Viridi is planning to drop another Reset Bomb in this area," Palutena explained. "What?" Pit exclaimed. "Where exactly?!" "I'm still not sure," Palutena replied. "And with Hades' army after them too, the humans don't stand a chance!" Pit exclaimed. "We have to do something!" He then took down more enemies from both armies and then spotted the Reset Bomb coming down from the sky. "There's the bomb," reported Palutena. "We'd better hurry!" "Roger!" Pit affirmed. "That bomb won't be resetting anything when I'm done with it!" Palutena then guided Pit to the direction where the bomb is as fast as she could. "What mischief are you two getting into now?" Viridi stated and then she ordered her troops. "Rise, my children, and pluck this dweeb from the air!" Pit, however, remained silent when she called him that. "Are you okay, Pit?" Palutena asked. Pit was still silent before saying, "I'm fine. Let's just go and destroy the bomb as soon as possible." He took down more Forces of Nature troops until he reached the Reset Bomb. "The Reset Bomb is going to wreak havoc if it hits the ground!" he exclaimed. "There's NOTHING natural about that," said Palutena. "How do I stop it?!" Pit asked in worry. "Careful—the bomb could explode if you just start shooting indiscriminately," warned Palutena before she had an idea. "Oh, I know. Destroy the green targets to remove the crown and expose the core. Then destroy the core." "Understood. Time to take it down!" Pit affirmed, which surprised Palutena a little bit. I've never seen him so serious before, she thought. Something is clearly off about him. I better get to the bottom of this soon. Pit was then fighting against the Forces of Nature's troops that were blocking his way from destroy the green targets. Once he destroyed all of them, the core was exposed. "The core's exposed." said Palutena. "Hurry!" "Come on, bomb!" shouted Pit. "Do your worst!" Pit then began to shoot at the core until it was finally destroyed and the bomb was deactivated. "Yeah!" he cheered. "Destructimated!" "I don't believe this!" exclaimed Viridi, shocked. "I know!" said Palutena. "Isn't it wonderful? But we can't rest yet. Viridi has a Reset Bomb factory that we need to shut down. Once we deal with it, that'll be the end of these horrid things." "Aye aye!" Pit exclaimed after receiving four more Recovery Orbs to replenish his health. "Your reign of destruction ends here, Viridi!" And we'll do whatever it takes to make sure you are DEAD! he added in thought. While he was fighting against more Forces of Nature troops, laser beans fired at him from afar. "Watch out, Pit!" Palutena warned. "Laser beams?!" exclaimed the angel. "Children! You must protect the Reset Bomb Depot!" Viridi ordered. "It won't work, Viridi!" Pit responded. "You have a problem with humans. OK, we get it. But more destruction won't help anything!" "Oh, please. This coming from the flying munitions depot himself!" Viridi scoffed. "You're as destructive as a hundred Reset Bombs!" Pit stayed silent once Viridi said that. "Destructive as a hundred Reset Bombs?" he thought. It's like your using your own murder weapons against us. He then flew upwards and made it to the Reset Bomb Depot. "We're approaching the Reset Bomb Depot," said Palutena. "It's huge!" Pit exclaimed. "I'll look for a place to land," Palutena continued. Pit went around the depot in order to find a landing spot while defeating more Forces of Nature troops. He then flew throught crystals and Palutena found a landing spot. "Up here looks like a good spot," she said. "Prepare for landing. It could get a little rough!" She then drew Pit up into the air right into the landing spot. "Waaaah!" he cried.

Pit roughly landed into the Reset Bomb Depot and slowly got back up. He then ate the food and proceeded onwards. "Just going to stroll in without backup?" Viridi scoffed. "That's brave, if not very smart. Rise, my children! Politely destroy our guest!" As on queue, more Forces of Nature troops came out to stop Pit from destroying the depot. Pit then took down the Nutskis and continued onwards. Then he saw an enemy that looked kind of like a bomb. "What is this?" he asked. "That's a Bumpety Bomb," said Viridi. "Cute name," Palutena complimented. "It almost feels wrong to destroy them. ...Oh, well. Just watch out for their blast radius, Pit!" After taking down the Bumpety Bombs, Pit continued onwards. "I brought a Cherubot for you," said Palutena. "I can't imagine that pile of metal is very fuel efficient," said Viridi. "Actually, it runs on goddess power, which is totally renewable," Palutena explained. Pit then hopped into the Cherubot and continued onwards while using the machine to take down more Forces of Nature troops. But once he fell into an arena, there are still more Underworld and Forces of Nature troops fighting against each other. "Dang it, Hades!" Viridi groaned. "Get your filthy troops out of MY bomb depot!" "You're awfully cute when you're flustered, rosebud," Hades remarked. "The Underworld Army and the Forces of Nature are still fighting," said Pit. "Then take them BOTH out," said Palutena. Although I still fear that the War of Chaos is continuing, she added in thought. There has to be a way I can do to stop all of this from continuing. I have a bad feeling that Pit is feeling a bit off than usual. Pit took down all of the Underworld and Forces of Nature troops to continue onwards. "Destructified!" he exclaimed. He then continued to a Jump Pad. "All right, Cherubot. Good job," he said after hopping off of the Cherubot and used the Jump Pad to hop to the next area. Suddenly, he came across a Lethinium that shot a big laser and Pit barley dodge it by hiding behind a small wall. "Wowza!" he exclaimed. "Lasers seem like overkill," said Palutena. "We usually get much bigger enemies here," said Viridi. "Too bad Pit's just so...tiny," said Palutena. Pit remained silent after hearing Palutena say that. He then took down the Lethinium and a few others to continue onwards. He then came across another new enemy. "There's nothing like fighting a pile of mud to make a guy feel tough," he said. "Mudrones are pretty resilient, so you actually DO need to be tough to fight them," Palutena explained. "To completely defeat them, you have to take them down three times." He then took it down and continued onwards, while taking down both Underworld and Forces of Nature troops. He then approached a path an electric fence. "I really don't think I should be touching these walls," he said. "Good instincts," said Palutena. "Bok bok bok! What are you? Chicken?" Viridi taunted. Pit's only response was a scoff of Viridi's cliché taunting. Palutena noticed this and was starting to get worried. Something is clearly wrong with Pit, she thought. He has never been this serious before. Pit then continued onwards and took down more enemies while avoiding more electric fences. He then entered another arena where there are, you guessed it, more Underworld and Forces of Nature troops fighting each other. "More Underworld forces!" Viridi exclaimed. "I get what Viridi has against Hades," said Pit. "He's destructive and evil. But what does Hades have against Viridi?" "I think you answered your own question," said Palutena. "Destruction is fun for him." "Well, five points for the squares!" said the Underworld ruler "It's true. This is just my idea of a good time. Not that these serious ladies would know anything about having a good time." Although I'm still having trouble trying to find our escaped prisoner, he added in thought. "Don't even put Lady Palutena in the same sentence as the Goddess of Brutality!" Pit scowled. "It's Goddess of Nature!" Viridi corrected. "You'd think the Lord of the Underworld would be too busy for mischief making," said Palutena. Despite the banished Devil who's more power-hungry than Hades, she added in thought. "Oh, no. Making mischief is one of my principal responsibilities," said Hades. And also trying to stop that Devil from standing in my way, he added in thought. Lucifer, still in the Void, heard the conversation. "It's funny you say that, Hades," he said. "After all, my brother is helping me complete our master plan. You fools won't stand a chance against us and our ultimate power!" After that little conversation, Pit took down both the Underworld and Forces of Nature troops and continued onwards. He then took a platform to go down.

Once Pit was down to where he needed to be, he continued onwards inside the depot. "We're approaching the bottom of the fortress," said Palutena. "Everything seems to be made out of natural materials," said Pit, surprised. "Reset Bombs must grow like fruit," said Palutena. "ORGANIC fruit," Viridi corrected. "And when it's ripe, it falls off the vine and just organically destroys everything in its path?" Hades asked. "That's not exactly how it goes," Viridi responded. "But I'm in the ballpark, aren't I?" Hades questioned. "Nature dictates that all life must eventually break down," Viridi explained. "This is just an accelerated version of that process!" "What a bunch of rubbish!" Pit grumbled. "It won't last long until I destroy it!" Hades heard Pit say that and was surprised. Now this is the side of Pitty Pat I never heard before, he thought. I have a strong feeling that he sounds familiar to somebody else. But I can't seem to put my finger on him. Pit then took down more Underworld and Forces of Nature troops until he came across some floating platforms. "Dash up to those floating platforms to jump on them," explained Palutena. "When the platform is lined up in front of you, go for it!" Pit did so and dashed to hop from one platform to another, while taking down more enemies from both armies. But suddenly, he came across a Treasure Chest that was... "A Mimicutie?" he exclaimed. "Neener neener!" said Viridi. Pit soon took it down quickly and then continued to take down more enemies. He was getting closer and closer to destroying the depot. "Children! Destroy the intruder!" Viridi ordered as her troops appeared to slow Pit down from reaching his destination. After taking them down, he noticed another enemy. "What's the deal with this enemy?" he asked. "It's called a Meeba, and it's actually a kind of parasitic fungus," Viridi explained. "That shell will block your attacks," Palutena warned. "Try getting behind it first." "Hey! Who asked for your advice?!" Viridi exclaimed. After taking down the Meeba, Pit continued onwards and used the Grind Rail, hopped into the air, landed at the same Grind Rail from another section, and made it to another land. Palutena noticed that he was silent the whole time. Usually he was supposed to be cheerful and have a lot of fun with the Grind Rails, she thought. Why is he still so serious? After taking down more enemies, Pit continued onwards and used a Jump Pads to continue onwards. One of them led him to a wobbly bridge. "The bridge looks treacherous," said Palutena, worried. "Great... "Listen, this probably goes without saying, but..." Palutena started. "Yes?" Pit asked. "Be careful not to fall," Palutena finished. "...Right," said Pit, worried about doing that. Luckily, he didn't and opened a Treasure Chest to collect its goodies. Then he used another Jump Pad to take him back to whence he came. He continued on his path to complete his mission while taking down more Forces of Nature troops along the way. "Fight harder, children! He's just one little angel!" Viridi ordered in fear of losing. "If this fortress goes down, that's the end of all Reset Bombs." "That's right," said Palutena. "Ready yourself, Goddess of Nature!" Even though it breaks my heart to do this just like last time... she added in thought and worry. After defeating all of the enemies in that area, he continued onwards and along the way, he found a Zodiac Chamber. He entered it and collected the Virgo Palm. After that, he left and continued on to complete his mission. He then exited the lift and was back outside.

"This is disorienting..." he said. He then hopped in another Cherubot to take down more Forces of Nature enemies. After that, he continued onwards down a long pathway. "This will take you to the heart of the depot up ahead," said Palutena. "It's so close!" said Pit. "In Palutena's name, I will eliminate the threat of the Reset Bomb!" Pit continued onwards and defeated more Forces of Nature troops until he was close to destroy the Reset Bomb Depot. He rushed to the hallway to find a lift. "It's time to put an end to the Reset Bombs once and for all!" said Palutena.

Pit entered the lift to go down, drank another Drink of the Gods, and entered through the door to finish this.

"Pit, destroy the Reset Bomb Pod to take down the entire depot," Palutena ordered. "Not a problem!" Pit affirmed. "That's what you think!" Viridi warned and then ordered her guards. "Guards! Wake up and report for duty!" The guards awoke and came out to fight against Pit to begin the battle. They attack in groups of four, but their battle strategy was poor, and they just didn't attack their target properly. "Ugh! I should've brought more soldiers," Viridi groaned. "More competent soldiers!" "Sorry about that, sprout," Hades apologized. "I'm afraid they're busy fighting my guys." "But you have to admit, Hades," said Viridi. "My troops are no joke, right?" "Oh, yes, they're just terrifying," Hades replied, sarcastically. "Quake-in-your-boots terrifying." Pit then noticed that there was a shell protecting the pod from receiving damage. "There's a shell protecting the Reset Bomb Pod!" he exclaimed. "How do I crack it?" "Try blasting a guard into the trench," Palutena explained. "The resulting explosion will help knock the shell loose, which is your cue to fire away!" Pit tried using shooting attacks to blast a guard to the pod, but that didn't work. "Get up close to a guard, and melee it into the trench," Palutena explained further. "The explosion will remove the shell and let you fire directly at the Reset Bomb Pod." Pit did what he was told a used a melee attack to push a guard into the pod to cause an explosion. The resulting blast got the shell off the pod. "The shell is off!" Pit exclaimed. "Now's your chance!" said Palutena. "Attack!" Pit did so and gave the pod some damage with shooting attacks, but then the shell grew back again. "The shell grew back!" Pit exclaimed. "You need to attack the inside while you have the chance!" explained Palutena. "Fire at the Reset Bomb Pod immediately after you take out the shell with a guard!" But once the guards were previously knocked down, new ones appeared to join the group and fight. "Dashing and doing a melee attack might be the best way to get rid of those guards," Palutena further eexplained. "Close in on a guard, then dash and attack it." Pit did so and managed to use a melee attack to knock a guard into the pod to cause an expulsion and knock the shell down. After a few more hits, and more guards to knock down and bring down the shell, Pit finally destroyed the pod. "Obliteration!" he exclaimed in victory. "Good. Now let's get you out of here!" said Palutena. After defeating the pod, Pit did different poses in fashion of his victory. Suddenly, the Reset Bomb Pod began to explode which caused the depot to shake. "Whoa-oa!" Pit cried upon noticing it. Then more explosions began to go off as Pit looked around to notice it. "Huh?" he wondered. Paluten then activated the Power of Flight to get Pit out of the Reset Bomb Depot. Pit then jumped to start flying. "Huph-ah!" he grunted as he got out of his feet. He attempted to fly away from the depot as fast as he could, but the explosion caught up to him and blew him out of the depot. "Aaaaaaaaaaaaugh!" he cried upon being blown away. "My depot!" Viridi yelled. "That's it! You are now OFFICIALLY at the top of my to-kill list." "Uh-oh. I'd better get you out of there, Pit," said Palutena and whisked the angel away.

A few moments later, Lucifer arrived at the abandoned Reset Bomb Depot by exiting a portal from the Void he opened earlier. "Perfect. Icarus completed his mission to destroy this depot," he said. "Now that those murder weapons are out of the way, we'll move forward with the plan very smoothly. Before I leave to show my brother the progress of our plan, I need to get rid of this Reset Bomb Depot permanently." He then activated Pyrokinesis with his right arm and fired a fireball around the depot. This engulfed the depot into flames and burned it down. "Excellent. Now to head back to the Void and call my brother to explain our progress," he continued and snapped his fingers to reopen the portal. He entered in it and was now back in the Void.

Meanwhile, Pit arrived at his room, about to take a rest, until he saw a portal appeared right in front of him. "Come in, Icarus," said Lucifer. "I have something to tell you." Pit entered the portal and saw his brother waiting for him. "What is it you want this time, Lucifer?" he asked. "You've done well in destroying the Reset Bomb Depot, Icarus," Lucifer replied. "We're getting closer in defeating our main targets. However, there is something important I need to tell you." "What is it?" Pit asked. "Listen. Those Reset Bombs will never be in our way now that the depot is destroyed," Lucifer explained. "Also, those bombs were the same murder machines that killed our parents many years ago." "WHAT?!" Pit exclaimed in fury. "HOW IS THAT EVEN POSSIBLE?! I WILL DESTROY THE FORCES OF NATURE FOR WHAT THEY DID TO US!" "Hmhmhmhm... The time will come soon enough," Lucifer chuckled. "Anyway, you're next mission involves going to a sanctum. I need you to kill the commander that resides within that premise. I'll be busy making more preparations for the ritual. After that, I'll be hiding in there to free something, got it?" "I understand, Lucifer," Pit affirmed. "But what is this...'something' you're talking about?" "You'll find out soon enough, brother," Lucifer replied. "You're free to go now." Pit nodded and entered the same portal to go back to his room and sleep. "Now then, time to hide in that sanctum to free my pet," Lucifer continued as he flew out of the Void.

Throughout all this, Palutena was still worried about her little angel servant. "Something is clearly wrong with Pit," she told herself. "Wait a minute. I just realized that Cragalanche's presence is no longer around Viridi's temple anymre. Could there be a possibility that...he's dead?" She shook her head for a moment. "*sigh* I really REALLY need to get to the bottom of this soon enough," she continued. "I just want to have my little angel safe and sound without have any problems like...last time... I sure hope I can put the pieces together once we complete our next mission." She then went to her room to think a bit more before going to sleep.

Meanwhile, Viridi was in her temple with her hands on her head in a stressful manner. "Grr! First Cragalanche was killed and now the Reset Bomb Depot was destroyed!" she grumbled. "Now there is no way to bring Nature back to its original state! I need to stop Palutena and Hades from making things worse for me and my forces!" Arlon was watching Viridi like this with a frown on his face. He began thinking about what happened to the previous Goddess of Nature many years ago. I remember my Lady Gaia killed by a ruthless monster, he thought. Could it be that this "angel" she's talking about is working for him? I better see this for myself. He then walked up to his mistress. "Mistress Viridi. If I may excuse myself, there are important matters I must do at the Lunar Sanctum," he said. "I have a feeling that this 'angel' you're talking about might be going over there. Don't worry, I'll come back to you safely once I complete my mission." Viridi slowly looked up at her commander with a confused look. "What is problem you're talking about?" she asked. "It's personal for me to deal with, my Mistress," Arlon replied. "Please be careful dealing with the Underworld army." Viridi nodded slowly. "Very well. You're free to go, Arlon," she said. Arlon bowed and said, "I wish you the best of luck for the big battle ahead of you, Mistress Viridi." He then left the temple to go to the Lunar Sanctum. Viridi was still in her temple in her stressful status. "I lost both Cragalanche and the Reset Bomb Depot," she sighed. "I hope Arlon comes back home safe and sound."

Looks like the brothers are still going on with the plan. Viridi is not feeling very well after losing her most powerful commander and the Reset Bomb Depot, Palutena is still worried about her little angel, and Arlon is going to figure out what is going on with her mistress.
