Chapter 17: The Aurum Brain + DLC: Maximum Overdrive

Pit rushed to the door with the Eyetrack Orbitars equipped. "Let's finish the Aurum once and for all!" he exclaimed as he leaped into space to defeat Devil Pit's army. Everyone else is on the scene to stop him. "Commencing Underworld assault on the Aurum central nervous system!" Hades ordered his Underworld Army. "Children! Our final target is the brains behind this operation! The Aurum Brain!" Viridi ordered her Forces of Nature. "Sun god Pyrrhon on the scene! Now with added Pyro Cannon action!" said Pyrrhon. "With all us gods—er, and Pyrrhon—united, the Aurum Brain doesn't stand a chance," said Palutena. "It's kind of crazy!" Pit exclaimed. "The biggest egos in the universe working together?" Pit continued onwards while all of the other armies team up to stop the Aurum Army, despite that the whole deversion for him and his brother. "Drive the intruders back into space, minions!" Hades ordered. "We cannot lose! Our planet's very existence is on the line!" Viridi exclaimed. "Do your thing, Pyro Snake! Shazammitylam!" Pyrrhon exclaimed. "Everyone seems to be in good spirits, though," said Pit. "Or they've finally lost it," said Palutena. "ALL ENTITES SHALL BE ELMINATED! NONE SHALL BE LEFT STANDING!" the system stated as more and more Aurum enemies appeared to stop the other armies, Pit, and Pyrrhon. Just then, Pit saw the Aurum Brain fortress where Devil Pit is located. "Now that we've defeated the Aurum Hive, we need to take down that fortress," said Palutena. "It's huge!" Pit exclaimed. "It houses the Aurum Brain, which controls every single Aurum unit," said Palutena. "How did you know that?" Pit asked. "Oh, Pyrrhon told me," Palutena responded. "Man, is that guy obsessed with the Aurum or what?" Pit questioned. "He sure knows a lot about them." "That's because I spend a lot of time on Divinipedia," said Pyrrhon. "Divinipedia?" Pit wondered. "Send me the link." "The time for learning has passed," said Pyrrhon. "Attack the Aurum Brain!" They continued to take down more and more Aurum enemies, with the help of the Underworld and Forces of Nature, and proceed onwards to destroy the Aurum Brain. "I'm heading in!" Pit exclaimed after receiving four more Recovery Orbs and he entered the fortress. "This path will take us directly to the Aurum Brain," Pyrrhon explained. "Come on, Pit! It's time for us to take this space junk to the space dump!" The two deities continued to take down more and more Aurum enemies sent by Devil Pit until they finally reached the Aurum Brain.

"So this is the Aurum Brain..." said Pit. "Do your thing, Pit. You know, your...shooting thing," said Pyrrhon. "Minions! Stop those fools from destroying the brain!" Devil Pit ordered as his Aurum minions appeared to slow Pit down from destroying the Aurum Brain. But it wasn't enough as Pit continued to attack the brain. He continued to fight against the brain, until... "It's brain-frying time!" Pyrrhon exclaimed. "What are you doing?!" Pit asked in shock as Pyrrhon entered the brain in order to destroy it. "Hold on, Pit! I'm getting you out!" said Palutena as she flew Pit away from the fortress. "Waaaaaaaah!" Pit cried as he flew away as fast as he could. The fire was burning up the exit as it tried to take Pit with it. "Just a little farther!" said Palutena and Pit flew out of the fortress just in time before he was burnt to a crisp. "I don't know what even happened in there!" he exclaimed. "Did Pyrrhon make it out?" But it wasn't until he heard his voice. "Ha ha ha ha ha!" he laughed. HA HA HA HA HA HA!" He then revealed his projection.

"Nicely done!" said the Sun God. "Pyrrhon?" Pit exclaimed after seeing him. "Thanks to you, Pyrrhon has leveled up!" Pyrrhon continued. "I am now a Level Infinity Epic Super God...Plus! Ultimate power is now Pyrrhon's!" "What are you talking about?" Pit asked. "This is what I'm talking about!" Pyrrhon replied. Suddenly, Aurum enemies appeared and their color forms changed from green to red. "The Aurum troops changed color!" Pit exclaimed. "HA HA HA HA HA HA! I'm pulling the Aurum strings with Devil Pit now!" Pyrrhon laughed. "Not even the combined power of the gods can stop me!" "Oh, snap! Poor Pitty got duped!" said Hades. "This might not be the best time to rub salt in the wound," said Viridi. "What kind of rat tricks an angel, Pyrrhon?" Pit yelled out. "What?! I can't hear you over all this awesome!" Pyrrhon replied. More and more stronger Aurum troops came out to stop Pit from continuing on. Pyrrhon is having a fun time with his victim. "Yow! This is intense!" Pit cried. "So, anyone have any bright ideas on how to take them out?" Hades asked. "I suppose we have no choice," said Viridi. "This is it, my single remaining jewel." "Wait a second..." said Pit. "Is that a RESET BOMB?!" "Time to let nature take its course!" said Viridi. The bomb then exploded right on the fortress. "This is out of control!" Pit exclaimed. "Who's awesome now, Pyrrhon and Devil Pit?!" Viridi laughed. But the last laugh was cut short when the Reset Bomb Forest burst into flames. "HA HA HA HA HA HA!" Pyrrhon laughed. "Is that really all you've got?" Viridi was shocked to see that. "How could this happen?!" she asked, surprised. Then there was trouble. "I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but the Power of Flight is running out," said Palutena. "So now what?" Pit asked, worried. "I'm sorry, Pit. I have to get you out of there," said Palutena. She tried to open a light pillar to extract Pit away, but nothing happened and he was still fighting enemies. "Oh no!" Palutena gasped. "What's wrong?" Viridi asked. "I can't extract him," said Palutena. "I don't understand why." "That's because you don't have an associate's degree in telepathic interference!" said Pyrrhon. "Are you blocking me?" asked Palutena. And then there was even more trouble. Pit's wings started to catch fire. "My wings are getting hot!" he yelped in pain. "I'm sorry! I can't carry you any farther!" Palutena warned. "I have to cut off the Power of Flight!" The Power of Flight was then cut off and Pit started to fall to his doom. "Waaaaah!" he cried. "Pit! PIT!" Palutena cried in worry. "Mayday! Mayday! This looks like the end!" Pit cried. "I never learned how to reeeeead!" "Ugh, pull yourself together!" said Viridi. "I've got you covered." "Viridi!" Pit yelped. "All you have to do is line yourself up with the platform below," Viridi instructed. "Listen, Icarus. You need to follow their orders in order not to make them suspicious about us," Lucifer warned. "Because if you don't, things will no turn out well for us. We need to keep the distraction in order." Pit nodded and lined himself to land on the platform Viridi sent in.

Pit roughly landed on the platform with loud crash. "Ouch..." he groaned upon standing up slowly. "Whew, I'm glad you're all right," Palutena sighed in relief. "But why did you save me, Viridi?" Pit asked after eating the food. "I don't get it." "There's nothing to get," Viridi replied. "Just shut your yapper and get ready to fight!" "By invading our land, the Aurum have declared war on all of us," Palutena explained. "And with Pyrrhon on their side, they've become even more powerful! If we don't defeat them today, we may not have a tomorrow." "Ugh, do you ever get tired of being such a nerd?" asked Viridi. "All you need are twenty-sided dice and some thick glasses." Which is of course what Palutena putted on her face. "My X-ray specs allow me to see your ignorance," she said. "Yeah yeah, enough with the lame comedy routine," Viridi replied in her usual sassy attitude but then continued on seriously. "It's time for us to strike!" Pit then continued to face off against more enemies sent by Pyrrhon. Until... "This isn't much space to fight on," he said. "Picky picky! Maybe this will suit His Majesty a little better," said Viridi. She then sent her troops to Pit another platform to make it bigger. "Thanks! This is MUCH better!" Pit thanked. "It looks like Viridi has also donated some of her forces to carry the platform," said Palutena. "But this platform is bigger, so there's more room for enemies. Stay on your guard!" Pit soon realized that there are indeed more Aurum troops sent by Pyrrhon. But he continued to fight against them and took all of them down. Then, he noticed an Aurum Aircraft Carrier up above. "That Aurum ship flying overhead is the size of a continent!" said Palutena. "If it were me, I wouldn't sweat it," said Hades. "Enemies incoming, Pit!" Palutena warned. "Get your own platform, jerks!" Pit yelled at them as he took them down. Suddenly, the carrier began to lower down. "That Aurum ship is going to engulf your entire platform!" said Viridi. That was exactly what it did. "Augh! I'm trapped!" Pit yelped. "Aurum vermin!" Viridi yelled. "They're well coordinated, I'll give them that," said Hades. "Be careful, Pit! Those walls are extremely hot!" Palutena warned. "Children! Full speed ahead! Hyah!" Viridi ordered her troops as they moved faster and Pit took down more enemies. Suddenly, there as an enemy blocking his way. "There's an Aurum Dohz ahead blocking your way!" said Palutena. "Get rid of it!" Luckily, Pit managed to take it down. "All right!" Viridi exclaimed. "My thoughts exactly!" Pit cheered. Soon enough, he got out of the carrier. "I made it out of the ship!" he said. "Good job, but there are enemies closing in from all directions. Watch out!" Palutena warned. "Our little sun buddy and escaped prisoner must have a thing for you, Pit," said Hades. "Of course they do," said Viridi. "Pit's the only one that loon considers an equal." "This is why you should not trust any of your 'allies' in any way possible," said Lucifer. "Make sure you continue the distraction perfectly without any flaws." Pit then continued to take down more Aurum enemies. Suddenly, a Kolma appeared on the platform. "Ugh!" Pit gasped. "Looks like you've got company," said Palutena. "That Kolma is trying to scam a free ride!" Viridi exclaimed. "What a deadbeat!" "Attention, passengers!" said Hades. "Those who fail to pay their fare must exit the vehicle." Suddenly, one Aurum Destroyer came to block the platform. "Whoaa!" Pit gasped. "You've got a battleship on your tail!" Viridi warned. Suddenly, another Aurum Destroyer appeared from the other side to stop Pit from moving. "Hoo boy!" Pit gasped again. "And one on your front!" Palutena warned. "You're being sandwiched!" said Viridi. "Ah, yes, the old sandwich tactic. How delectable!" said Hades. "Shut up, Hades," Virid yelled before ordering her troops. "Forces of Nature! Push that platform up and out of there!" The Nutskis rose the platform up and Pit was free. "Good! You broke free!" said Viridi. Then they heard a laugh. "HA HA HA HA HA! I see you're hard at work!" said Pyrrhon. "Pyrrhon!" Pit exclaimed after hearing him. "Pyrrhon Creed Number 427: Hard work should always be rewarded!" said Pyrrhon. "Which is why I got a present. For me. To destroy you. It's Pyroblaster time!" Suddenly, a fiery cannon burst out of the fortress. "Huh?!" Pit gasped "Uh-oh!" "Hold on!" Viridi warned. The beam soon shot at the platform with a mighty force. "Augh!" Pit yelped. "Come on, Pit!" said Viridi. "No wimping out!" Soon enough, the beam dissipated, but in the process, the Nutskis were sacrificed to save him. "See? You're fine," said Viridi. "Though I can't say the same for my troops that were carrying your platform." "I feel terrible about this," said Pit. Not really, he added in thought. I really say good riddance to the forces who were responsible for killing my parents. "Our Forces of Nature allies made the ultimate sacrifice," said Palutena. "But there's no point dwelling. I called for backup." The platform that Pit was on fell and Pit was falling again. "Whoa whoa!" he gasped, then he saw Centurion Strongarms carrying the same platform. "Centurions?!" Pit gasped after seeing them.

"Whew. That was close," Pit sighed in relief after landing on the platform. "Glad to see you're safe, Captain!" said a Centurion Strongarm. "The centurions are in way over their heads!" Pit exclaimed. "They mean well," said Palutena. "They're just not very effective." "Pretty harsh words for your own troops," said Viridi. "Pull them out!" Pit ordered. "I don't want them to get hurt!" "Then how do you plan to make it to Pyrrhon?" Palutena asked. "I-I'll think of something!" Pit responded. Though the Centurion Strongarms offer a defense. "We live to serve, Captain!" one of them said. "Your mission is to defeat Pyrrhon and eliminate the Aurum forces! We dedicate our energy and resources to helping you reach that goal!" "...OK, OK," said Pit. "Then charge, soldiers!" Pit then took down more enemies that were trying to take down the Centurion Strongarms. They helped Pit to move the platform towards the Aurum Brain Fortress. "It seems as if our previous path into the Aurum Brain is, well, aflame," said Palutena. "You can thank Pyrrhon for that," said Hades. "You'll have to go around," said Palutena. The Centurion Strongarms then moved the platform into an opening. "Going in!" one of them said. "You've got Aurum enemies on your tail!" Palutena warned. The Aurum proceeded to try and take down the Centurion Strongarms, but Pit made sure that they will be safe by taking the enemies down. Until... "BARRIERS ACTIVATED!" the system stated and barriers were soon activated to block Pit and the Centurion Strongarms from moving forward through the fortress. "There's an obstacle ahead!" a Centurion Strongarm warned. "Keep moving forward!" Pit ordered. "I'll take care of it!" Pit then took down the barriers and they continued onwards. Suddenly, lasers came out of the fortress to hit Pit. "Jump over the lasers to avoid getting hit!" said Palutena. "They're coming from the battleship outside," said Viridi. "Ahh, alien ingenuity at its best," said Hades. Suddenly, more enemies came out to stop Pit from reaching Pyrrhon. "We're closing in on Pyrrhon!" said Viridi. "I hope he's decent," said Hades. "Get it together, Pit!" Palutena ordered. "My poor centurions are struggling. Destroy those enemies NOW!" "I'm trying my best!" Pit replied. "Some goddess needs to go to leadership training..." said Viridi. "I told you about how your 'allies' should not be trusted, brother," said Lucifer. "Continue with the distraction without any hesitation." Pit soon took down the enemies, drank another Drink of the Gods and he, along the the Centurion Strongarms, proceeded further. "Pyrrhon is right up ahead!" said Palutena. "Halt. Halt. Stay. Away." said Pyrrhon, and something was off about him. "Does something seem a little off about Pyrrhon?" Pit asked. "How can you even tell?" Palutena asked. Pit and the Centurion Strongarms soon entered the boss room to face Pyrrhon.

The Centurion Strongarms then carried the platform and Pit soon saw Pyrrhon, who now became Aurom Pyrrhon because he was fused in the Aurum Brain, face-to-robotic-face. Aurum Pyrrhon began twitching violently. "01101011011010010110110001101100..." he said. "Pyrrhon! What are you doing?!" Pit yelled as the battle began. "Are you really controlling the Aurum, Pyrrhon? Or are they controlling you?!" "I... I... I will not be controlled..." said Aurum Pyrrhon as he struggled to break free, but was soon back in the Aurum's control. "WE WILL NOT BE CONTROLLED." "Oh, boy. What's he gotten himself into?" asked Pit, worried. "It's just as you suspected. The Aurum Brain has overtaken Pyrrhon." "INTRUDER MUST BE PURGED." Aurum Pyrrhon continued. "WE MUST CONSUME ALL." "Just like bugs, the Aurum are powerful as a swarm, but not very bright," said Hades. "They're like moths drawn to the flame of battle," said Palutena. "They live only to consume and destroy, like...hungry moths." "WE WILL MULTIPLY." Aurum Pyrrhon continued further. "WE MUST BE ALL." "In that sense, they're pretty much like any other living creature," said Viridi. "They're concerned with their own survival and propagation. Each species influences the other, and THAT is the cycle of life! But this... This is just too much. It's too destructive and too unnatural!" "Well, they are an alien species. Of course they're not natural," said Palutena. "So they're just going to eat everything?!" Pit exclaimed. "Not if you stop them, Pit!" said Palutena. Pit then continued to fight against Aurum Pyrrhon and avoided his dangerous attacks. "Just keep jumping and shooting to avoid Pyrrhon's attacks," Palutena explained to Pit. "However, you can't do powerful dash attacks while you're in the air." "Then I guess you need to balance jumps with dash attacks," Viridi explained as well. "Pay attention to Pyrrhon's attack patterns to time your attacks. Let him have it!" "YOU CANNOT STOP US!" said Aurum Pyrrhon. Pit attacked Aurum Pyrrhon continuously until he was finally defeated. "Go back to space!" Pit yelled in victory. "RAAAAAAAAAAWR!" Aurum Pyrrhon roared as he broke free from Devil Pit's control. Once he was out he unleashed a powerful attack that pushed Pit out of the way. "Wah!" Pit yelped. "I need to extract you!" said Palutena. The Centurion Strongarms quickly before he could get burnt to a crisp. "This seems familiar," Pit noticed. "We've been doing this a lot," said Palutena. Soon enough, Pit and the Centurion Strongarms got out of the fortress safely. The resulting explosion caused the Aurum to go back into space thanks to Pyrrhon. "With any luck, Pyrrhon will push the Aurum to the other end of the galaxy," said Palutena. "He finally does something useful," said Viridi. "Now we can get back to eliminating the real enemy," Palutena continued. "The Underworld Army." "So long, space scum!" Pit yelled.

Pyrrhon continued to push the Aurum away across outer space as fast as he could. "Just a little farther and this space junk is going to be gone for good!" he said. "I just need to get them as far away as possible." But while the Sun God was pushing the robotic army away, he heard the alarm go off. "Uh oh! Pyrrhon doesn't like the sound of that!" he gasped. Suddenly, Lucifer appeared right behind the Sun God. "Well well well. What do we have here?" he said. "It appears we have an enemy of ours trying to push my fleet back to the deepest part of space! Well, I'm not going to let that happen!" "So, you are the one responsible for bringing these monsters here to Earth in the first place!" Pyrrhon shouted. "Pyrrhon HATES monsters disrupting the celestial balance!" "I don't give a shit about the so called 'celestial balance!'" Lucifer countered. "All we want is to destroy the entire universe and then recreate a new world for us to rule! With my brother's help, there is no way you fools will stop us!" "You're brother?" Pyrrhon questioned. "Wait! Are you talking about Pit?" "If you're thinking about Icarus the white angel brother of mine, then yes that's him," Lucifer replied. "But since you're trying to push my army back to their starting point, I must stop you!" Suddenly he reached out his hand up high and yelled, "Release my creations, system! Let the Aurum leaders aid this battle with me!" "CREATIONS COMPLETED! RELEASING..." the system stated and suddenly, Lucifer and Pyrrhon heard a new robotic voice. "INTRUDER DETECTED!" it yelled and Pyrrhon moved out of the way to avoid a blast that came out of an Aurum clone of Pit. "Who are they?" the Sun God asked. "They are known as the 'Aurum Icarus Squad," Lucifer explained. (A/N: The Aurum Pit Squad and Aurum Icarus Squad are named the same way. I didn't reveal the real name in the good route because I wanted to keep the secret going until the end of that. Anyways, resume.) "They shall terminate you and then your soul will be ours for the ritual!" "TARGET LOCKED ON SIGHT!" said Blade Aurum Pit. "COME FORTH, MY BROTHERS. LET US AID OUR LORD AND PATRIARCH TO ELIMINATE THE TARGET!" Suddenly, four more Aurum Pit clones appeared with their Aurum weapons to fight against Pyrrhon. "TARGET MUST BE DESTROYD!" "YOU WILL BE ANNIHILATED!" "TARGET ACQUIRED!" "INNICIATING BATTLE MODE!" they all said. "I hope you're ready to feel the pain, Pyrrhon, because this is where you will die!" said Lucifer. "Pyrrhon will not let villains like you cause more destruction!" said Pyrrhon. "En Garde, Lucifer!" They all got into their battle stances to begin the fight.

Pyrrhon started the battle by spawning fireballs from his hands and threw them at Lucifer. But it wasn't enough as Lucifer opened his mouth and swallowed them whole. "What the?!" Pyrrhon gasped. "Pyrrhon didn't see that one coming!" "Remember what Palutena warned you about? 'Adding heat to heat only makes things hotter' is what she said," said Lucifer. "You cannot underestimate the Devil himself, Sun God. Witness the power of the Dark Allies!" Lucifer then took out his Sword of Death and began slashing at Pyrrhon with full force. "How do you like that, Pyrrhon?" he taunted. "You're no match for me!" "Oof! Not bad. But Pyrrhon's just getting started!" Pyrrhon replied. "Let's see if you can dodge THIS! PYROBLASTER TIME!" Suddenly, he lifted his arms and pointed at the Aurum Icarus Squad. As soon as he lowered his arms, a giant fire beam launched out of his hands. "Shit! Minions! Dodge!" Lucifer warned and he and his commanders barely avoided the giant beam. "That was close!" "IT'S NOT OVER YET, OUR PATRIARCH! LET US HANDLE THE FIGHT!" said Blade Aurum Pit. "Go ahead. He's all yours," Lucifer replied. "WITH PLEASURE!" said Blade Aurum Pit before ordering his brothers. "ALRIGHT, BOYS! LET US COMMENCE THE BATTLE TO TERMINATE THE SUN GOD!" "AFFIRMATIVE, CAPTAIN!" replied Palm Aurum Pit. "TARGET MUST BE ANNIHILATED!" said Bow Aurum Pit. "FEEL THE AURUM'S WRATH, FOOLISH SUN GOD!" said Club Aurum Pit. "INTRUDER MUST BE TERMINATED!" said Orbitars Aurum Pit. "Alright, Aurum Icarus Squad! CHARGE!" Lucifer ordered and the squad charged at Pyrrhon with their weapons. "Now this is going to be the REAL fun Pyrrhon will enjoy!" Pyrrhon boasted. "I'll fry you all up!" "I wouldn't be so sure about that," Lucifer warned. Suddenly, Aurum Blade Pit fired multiple rapid shots at Pyrrhon to slow him down. "TARGET MUST BE DESTROYED!" he yelled and then charged at Pyrrhon with a melee combo. "Argh!" the Sun God yelled in pain. But the squad wasn't done yet as Bow Aurum Pit charged at Pyrrhon and spit his weapon into two. "ADVANCED MEASURES ACTIVATED! PROCEEDING TO ELIMINATE THE ENEMY OF OUR LORD AND PATRIARCH!" he said as he attacked Pyrrhon with a melee combo. This gave him a lot of damage. "I will not be taken down!" he yelled. "Pyroblaster!" He then fired another fire beam at the squad, but they swiftly dodged it. "IF THE TARGET PLAYS ROUGH, WE WILL PLAY ROUGHER!" said Club Aurum Pit as he charged at Pyrrhon with a powerful striked. He swung his weapon at the Sun God with a huge amount of force to deal massive damage and then a melee combo to hurt him even more. "Yow! That one got Pyrrhon!" the Sun God yelled in pain. "I told you. You cannot underestimate the all powerful Dark Allies," said Lucifer. "Now, Palm Aurum Icarus. Show this god we mean business." "AS YOU WISH, MY PATRIARCH." Palm Aurum Pit replied. "REVENGE WILL BE A DISH SERVED SPICY! PREPARING CHARGED SHOT!" He held his arm and began to charge up a powerful attack. "Pyrrhon doesn't like this..." Pyrrhon said in worry. "Oh, but we love this!" said Lucifer. "NOW FIRE!" As on queue, Palm Aurum Pit fired the powerful shot to finish Pyrrhon off with one mighty explosion. "AAAAAHHHHH!" Pyrrhon yelled in defeat. "And now...to finish you off..." said Lucifer. After that final blast, Lucifer and the Aurum Pit Squad all gathered around the collapsed Sun God. "Uuuuggghhhh..." he groaned. The Aurum Pit Squad soon raised their weapons to finish the Sun God off. "So, do you have any last words, Pyrrhon?" Lucifer asked him. "Pyrrhon wishes you never did something like this," Pyrrhon replied. "You have the nerve to stop all of us gods, but you will NEVER destroy the universe! Pyrrhon's allies will stop you and you will feel their pain!" "Foolish Sun God. With Icarus by my side, none of you have a chance," Lucifer laughed, sinisterly. "Now, time to say 'nighty night.'" As soon as he said that, the Aurum Pit Squad lowered their weapons with full force to finish Pyrrhon off and he died. His body soon disintegrated into nothing and all that was left was his soul, which Lucifer grabbed in his hands. "Excellent work, boys," he told his commanders. "Now send the Aurum back to space. We'll have them ready for the final step of our master plan." "AFFIRMITIVE, OUR PATRIARCH," replied Blade Aurum Pit. "WE WILL STRIKE THIS UNIVERSE DOWN UNTIL IT IS COMPLETELY ANNIHILATED." The squad soon left to order the Aurum back to space and prepare themselves for the final step. "Alright. Now to bring this soul to the ritual circle before calling Icarus again," said Lucifer as he opened a portal and entered it to place the soul.

After entering the Void, Lucifer made it to the ritual circle. "It looks like my right hand pet was busy collecting the souls for the ritual," he said. "Now to place this soul in the circle and then prepare the next step of our master plan." He then placed Pyrrhon's soul in the ritual circle. After he did that, the Chaos Kin came up right next to the Devil. "Ah. You made it just in time," he told it. "It's almost time to begin the next step of our master plan. Before we get started, I need to bring my brother in." He then opened up another Void portal and Pit came out of it. "Oof!" he grunted upon landing feetfirst. "Oh, hey Lucifer." "Glad to see you haven't decided to abandon us again, brother," Lucifer replied. "But the time for chatting is nigh. Right now we need to get back to our master plan." Before Lucifer could explain, Pit noticed something. "Lucifer, did you kill Pyrrhon and took his soul to the ritual circle?" he asked. "Why yes I did," Lucifer responded. "In fact, the distraction was a complete success. Nobody knows that you're still working with me." "So, what's the next step, Lucifer?" Pit asked. "The next stop involves another diversion, but more brutal," Lucifer explained. "Long story short, the Chaos Kin is going to help us with the cause. I've already ordered the Aurum troops to wait for the opportunity to strike once the time comes." "So, how is this 'Chaos Kin' thing going to help us?" Pit asked again. "You'll find out soon enough," Lucifer responded. "Now, come with me to Palutena's temple, boys. We have a big strike to begin." He then opened a portal and all three of them exited the Void and entered Palutena's temple.

"Alright, Icarus. Remember the plan," Lucifer instructed. "If you want this to work, you must listen to my words very carefully." "What is it?" Pit asked. "I'm going to transfer your soul into this ring and then possess your body," Lucifer explained as he pulled out a ring. "The Chaos Kin gave me this and it's going to be useful for the next step while we begin our massacre at the Overworld." "W-What do you mean about that?" Pit asked. "Are you saying that you're-" "Shush..." Lucifer replied, quietly. "Stay quiet and don't ask questions. Just go with the plan, alright?" "O-Okay..." Pit reluctantly replied. "Good. Now then... Activating Spiritual Possession!" Lucifer yelled and suddenly, a giant misty fog appeared around Pit's room and Lucifer turned into a slithering cloud. "What's going on?! I can't see a thing!" Pit yelled in worry and before he knew anything else, Lucifer entered Pit's open mouth and possessed Pit's body. This also caused the angel's soul to transfer into the ring. "It worked," the Devil said it Pit's body. "Now, remember this next step, Icarus. I'm going to toss you to the Overworld after I helped the Chaos Kin possess Palutena. Once I've done that, I need you to pretend you don't know what happened. Understand?" "I understand, Lucifer," Pit responded in the ring. "Excellent," said Lucifer, smiling sinisterly. "And now to wait for Palutena."

Meanwhile, in the living room of the temple, Palutena was still waiting for Pit. Where is he? she wondered in thought. I should probably go look in his room. He hasn't come out of there ever since I brought him back home. She got up from the couch and went over to Pit's room. As he got to the doorway of the room, she carefully knocked the door just to be safe. "Pit? Are you okay?" she asked. "You haven't even gotten out of your room for 5 minutes." But there was no response. "Pit? Are you even in there?" she asked again, but there was still no response. After a few short seconds, the door suddenly opened up. But once Palutena entered the room, she saw Pit sitting down on the floor with his back facing her. How can the door open if Pit is sitting there? Palutena thought. Something is not right here. She then slowly but surely walked towards the sitting angel. "Pit? Are you feeling alright?" she asked him. "You're making me worried." She then reached out a trembling hand to touch Pit, but before she could react, Lucifer, in Pit's body, violently turned around and tacked Palutena out of the room. "Now I got you right where I want you!" he exclaimed. "Pit! What are you doing?!" Palutena gasped in shock. "Let me go!" "No. In fact, I'm not even 'Pit,'" Lucifer responded. "But before you can figure out what is happening, I have a special surprise just for you. CHAOS KIN! NOW!" Right after Lucifer let go of Palutena, the Chaos Kin quickly rushed out of the room and attacked Palutena. "W-What is this thing?!" the Goddess of Light gasped in horror as she struggled to break free, but to no avail. "That is going to be what will become of you," Lucifer responded. "You will serve under my order and destroy everything in sight." He then left Palutena, while the Chaos Kin took control over her, and went to the balcony. After that, he pulled out the ring. "Alright, Icarus. This is going to be the next step of our master plan," he explained his brother. "Pretend you don't know any of this happening. If someone manages to find you, play along and pretend to be their ally. Got it?" "Got it," Pit replied. "Good. Now then, out you go!" said Lucifer and he tossed the ring out to the Overworld. "I hope you're ready to face your demise, mortals! You will soon feel our wrath! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!"

Uh oh! The brothers' plans are going exactly as it turned out to be. Pyrrhon is dead after Lucifer and the Aurum Pit Squad killed him, Palutena is starting to be under the Chaos Kin's control, and Lucifer is in control of Pit's body, while his own brother is in a ring while pretending like he doesn't remember any of this happening. What will happen to the poor humans now? Will the War of Chaos still continue despite what has happened? Or will everything come to a halt after Pit and Lucifer destroy everything?
