Homecoming
I was not only shocked but completely caught off guard when Rebekah called me this morning, apparently Elena's plan worked and she was on board with Klaus dying which sounded odd. But that's how things went in this family. They wanted each other dead constantly apparently.
Damon had dropped off the black dress Rebekah had picked out for me which was a red flag in itself. If Rebekah and I planned on going together and she had the dress why would I need it brought to me.
I stared down at the dress on my bed, I had a pair of black heels that would make my legs look sky high and already had my make up planned out the moment she said I could have it.
I heard my phone ringing across the room and tore myself away from the dress to answer it. I raised my eyebrows at the fact Klaus was calling me, I hadn't heard a peep from him since he suddenly left town.
"Nik." I answered, I wasn't exactly sure of what he could want with me right now.
"Little witch, I have a question for you." He said almost immediately, Ah I take it this was what Rebekah was telling me to prepare for.
"Sure thing."
"Is it true? Mikeal is dead?" He sounded desperate, I understand he was a horrible person but what does this mean when the others wake? Would Elijah go on a spree to avenge him? Would Kol or Finn raise hell because they hadn't been able to see Klaus for over a hundred years? Would they be glad he was gone and just let it go?
"Yes." I replied. I hated the part that I would have to play in this especially since I knew it would inevitably blow up in their faces and Klaus would come out unscathed.
"Thank you." He replied happily."I'll see you soon, I'm boarding a flight now to see him."
"Okay, I'll be waiting." I said the two of us hung up and I palmed my forehead why the hell would I say that stupid shit? He knows we're lying. I'm gonna die. It cannot be healthy how often I tell myself I'm gonna die.
I had plenty of time before the dance and had no idea what to do, everyone was helping Elena with Klaus duty the only ones who were free were Tyler & Caroline and I didn't want to go near either one of them right now.
I pulled out my PlayStation and decided to play with it a bit, it was great to pass the time and hearing dudes cry online when I beat them was a powerful feeling.
I managed to go about 6 games of black ops 2 before my vision slowly got blurry. I turned off the game and laid down, thankful I was sitting on my bed. I couldn't do anything as it got harder and harder to keep my eyes open. I passed out.
"What is going on?" A voice I'd never heard before asked. It felt like I was laying in grass, I cracked my eye open confused why the sun was beaming directly onto my face.
"Am I dead? Did Klaus finally kill me ?" I asked sitting up, I frowned when I noticed Rebekah was standing in front of me. Shit did that dagger actually work? I guess Sabine really knew what she was doing.
"No. But that Doppelbitch stabbed me in the back." Rebekah hissed, helping me up. I stared at the two men with her, if I'm right then they must be Kol & Finn. They looked pretty similar both had the same dark hair and dark eyes. The only real difference was the age difference.
"Why are we suddenly here and who are you?" Kol asked he flashed me a flirty smile which I couldn't help but return."Not that I'm complaining."
"I did some weird spell on one of the daggers, I'm assuming the one in Rebekah. It's like a shared dream so you aren't just wandering aimlessly in nothingness." I explained, I frowned when I realized somebody was missing."Where's Elijah?"
"How long will this last?" Finn asked, he seemed unbothered about Elijah's whereabouts. Maybe he didn't like them enough for this to be exciting.
"I'm not sure, I'm guessing until Rebekah gets undaggered since her's is the one I spelled." I replied scratching the back of my head, I had zero idea of how this was supposed to work and even less idea of how I was even supposed to get back.
"Interesting. Do update us on the outside world little witch." Kol replied staring at me intently. Finn suddenly looked interested, I knew he was daggered the longest and I had a feeling it would piss him off to find out how much time passed.
"It's 2010." I bite the bullet no reason to beat around the bush. Finn reacts first; he sucks in a deep breath and kicks a rock hard. Kol lunged at me but Rebekah caught him and shoved him away. I frowned maybe starting with the year was a bad idea.
"I've been daggered for almost a hundred years." Kol scoffed."Is there a reason you haven't intervened, Bekah?"
"I've been daggered for 80 don't look at me." She shrugged, throwing her hands up. I looked at Finn who was so quiet he looked like he was about to explode.
"Alicia." I smiled and turned around, Elijah was emerging from some trees. He must have awoken someplace else. It was strange since the others were together but I'll take it.
"Elijah." I greeted back. The only one of his siblings who looked happy to see him was Rebekah who rushed over and pulled him into a hug.
"I take it this is your doing." He replied, I stiffly nodded he motioned for us to follow him one by one. We slowly did. This world was probably the last place on earth I'd want to be, I hated forests but somehow this is what I made? Sabine might be an asshole.
We walked for a little while before coming to a large cabin. It looked pretty modern and had a decent sized lake beside it.
"I hope that's full of booze and fun things to do." I commented Elijah pushed open the doors and we headed inside, it was a simple cabin. This place really sucked.
"So we're stuck together? I'd rather the endless darkness."Kol mumbled, taking a seat beside the fireplace. I gritted my teeth, it truly did suck. I was just glad I could leave somehow.
"After a while you become conscious of everything going on around you, you just can't speak or move." Finn said, an awkward silence swept through the room. I'm sure his siblings felt like shit for his suffering.
"That sounds awful." I replied I myself didn't know what to say, and found myself feeling bad for the eldest original."But you should get out of here soon."
"You're going to undagger us?" Kol asked happily, he bounced from the chair to having his arm around my shoulder in the blink of an eye."I knew I liked you, I can finally get out of here and drive a dagger through Nik's heart."
"He'll be dead." Rebekah said shaking her head, I didn't think she'd mention to her siblings what was supposed to unravel outside.
"Excuse me?" Elijah asked dumbfounded. I'm sure like Rebekah he had mixed emotions about his brothers demise. You spend over a millennium with somebody and you'll spend as much time loving them as you do hating them.
"I'm gonna go ahead and distance myself because I disagree with this dumbass scheme." I replied, throwing my hands up."They called Mikeal and he's supposed to kill Klaus whenever he gets back."
"Mikeal? Why would they call him? Are they harebrained ?"Kol asked,I snorted because they for sure were.
"You've missed a lot brother." Elijah said, he proceeded to fill in Kol & Finn about how Klaus was finally able to break his hybrid curse, Rebekah took over and explained what he couldn't, the ritual didn't work and he couldn't sire hybrids without Doppelganger blood courtesy of the Original Witch.
"Ah, typical Nik." Kol replied."He can't help creating enemies everywhere he goes."
I turned to check on Finn, his detached behavior made me weary of him. I understood how, he didn't have anything in common with his siblings after so much time. They probably felt like complete strangers to him,while I was exactly that to him.
"You okay?" I whispered to him, he nodded I could tell from his facial expression he wasn't really there just yet.
"You will undagger us as soon as you wake up?" Rebekah asked hopefully."I'm gonna tear that wenches throat out."
"You can't kill her." I sighed, pinching the bridge of my nose. I liked Rebekah but I didn't want her to get out and just go on a killing spree.
"You're such a bore." Rebekah pouted."Do you know what's happening ?"
"No, I think when you got daggered I got sucked in with you." I answered."It was only about 2pm when I passed out, I'm hoping Bonnie will come home and pull me out before."
"Bonnie? Another witch? Where is all this happening? It sounds wonderful." Kol said gleefully, he still had his arm over my shoulder. I had no idea why I hadn't shrugged him off yet.
"Mystic Falls, Virginia. The most boring small town in the world."
"It'll liven it up once you free us, Darling." Kol purred, I realized he hadn't seen a woman in a very long time so he's probably ultra flirty not that I didn't mind. He was cute, the originals were as beautiful as they were crazy.
"Kol, stop flirting with my friend." Rebekah whined, knocking his arm from my shoulder and guiding me to stand beside her.
"She seemed to be enjoying it." He shrugged, winking at me, I blushed but tried to hide it from Rebekah.
"Do you know where you were when you got daggered?" I asked, I had zero idea of where Klaus was keeping the others but if I can get to Rebekah then the two of us could find them together.
"The Salvatore's." Rebekah replied bitterly."Elena pretended to give me back my necklace and stabbed me in the back."
"Oh shit." I blinked and stumbled a bit, Rebekah caught me keeping me upright. My vision started to blur again, I sighed in relief Bonnie must be pulling me out."I'm going back."
"Your face better be the face I see when I wake up." Rebekah threatened, I laughed a bit before I passed out again. When I woke up, I was on my bed with Bonnie standing over me, she was already dressed in her dress and holding her grimoire.
"Alicia thank god." Bonnie tossed the book down beside me and pulled me into a hug." I came home and you were in this vegetable-like state."
"Vegetable?"
"You looked like you were sleeping but your eyes were wide open, I thought you were dead until I touched you." She explained, staring down at me." What were you doing?"
"Astral projecting…. But badly." I lied, Bonnie hadn't mastered that skill yet and I haven't really used it yet so she wouldn't know it shouldn't look like that.
"What? That looked horrible." She cringed, she grabbed my dress from beside me and handed it to me."We've gotta leave soon so get dressed."
"I'm meeting Rebekah." I replied curious to see if Bonnie would mention what Elena did.
"She's not coming Lee." Bonnie said softly, her facial expression gave her right away."Elena didn't wanna risk her changing her mind."
"Where'd they put her body?" I asked changing out of my clothes and into the dress." I'm going to free her as soon as this is over."
"She'll kill Elena."
"Elena shouldn't have daggered her." I countered sitting down in front of my mirror. I did my make up while Bonnie tied my braids up into a ponytail.
"We couldn't chance it." She replied, tying silver string around two of the braids."Let's just focus on tonight okay? No need to stress about the what ifs."
"For you, fine." I replied. We finished up my makeup in silence, I slipped my shoes on and Bonnie & I headed out the door. I was beyond pissed when we got all the way to the school only to find out the dance was being moved to Tyler's house.
"I can drop you off at home." Bonnie said as we neared Tyler's house. I rolled my eyes at the fact she would mention it while we were already there but whatever.
"Nah, Im only here for Rebekah." I shrugged it wasn't a lie either, I had no intentions of going had we not decided to go together."She really wanted to go."
"I'm sorry." Bonnie replied putting the car into park, we both hopped out at the same time, I paused to look over my appearance while Bonnie scoffed."You look fine you egomaniac."
"I can't help but make sure I'm the prettiest girl at my ex's house." I smirked, Bonnie rolled her eyes while we walked Inside the house.
"Uh? What?"
"Who even are these people?" I asked bumping into a random girl, this town was too small to be bumping into random people.
"There's a band outside." Bonnie pointed, Caroline came storming over to us just as confused as we were.
"How did he throw a better party than me so fast?"
"This is weird." Bonnie agreed, as much as I wanted to walk off I also wasn't gonna let my disdain for Caroline keep me from hanging out with my sister.
"Let's investigate." I replied taking Bonnie's arm and walking toward the backyard, Caroline was right behind Bonnie keeping a steady pace with us.
"Good evening everyone!" Klaus greeted, from where we were standing we had a good view of the stage." I want to thank you all for being here with me to celebrate. It's been a long time coming."
"Oh." Caroline & I said at the exact same time. It made everything make sense now, the gym conveniently being flooded and a party already being in full swing at Tyler's.
"Are we in a time machine right now." I asked pointing at Elena and Matt, it was mostly because I knew it would bother Caroline but I didn't care.
"What the?"Caroline asked, taking the bait she walked off to investigate leaving me smiling gleefully while Bonnie shook her head.
"You are evil."
"She's not my friend." I shrugged. Bonnie & I hung out and listened to the band for a bit before she left to find Elena & Caroline. I noticed Klaus & Tyler on the steps talking and felt like being nosy. So I made my way over.
"Hold on are all these people Hybrids?" I heard Tyler asked, I looked around shocked exactly how much blood did Klaus get from Elena and how quickly did he find these wolves because he dragged Stefan & I around for months and we came back empty handed.
"Well they also enjoy a good party." Klaus replied, he gave me a small smile when I walked up." And like you they are sired to me. They wish to serve their master. So if anyone should make a move against me, they may feel obligated to retaliate. Feel free to warn your friends."
"Well shit." I mumbled as he walked off, that answered my question from earlier." You think Klaus will let me have one? Ya know a new one to keep an eye on me."
"Are you firing me?" He asked, despite the very open threat Tyler seemed to be in good spirits. That sirebond wasn't a joke.
"I'm allowed to?" I asked, raising an eyebrow." I'll keep a mental note of that."
"You wouldn't do that." He replied getting closer, yeah no I wasn't into playing those kinds games.
"I'm gonna get back to the party, you should stop flirting with me and go be with your girlfriend." I replied kissing his cheek and walking off, I may not have been into those games but it doesn't mean this was one I was hellbent on losing either. I didn't have to turn around to know he was watching me leave.
I have no idea why but my feet led me to Tyler's dad's office, this was the place Tyler triggered his curse. I sat down in the chair but couldn't help but stare at the edge of the desk.
I kicked heels off and tossed my feet up onto the desk and played on my phone. I nearly had a heart attack when the door flew open and Damon came inside with Tyler.
"Tia!" Damon beamed I raised an eyebrow and put my phone away." Have you met the hybrids? Aren't they terrible guests."
"I haven't had the luxury of talking to one yet." I replied taking my feet off the desk and crossing my legs in front of me."I'm gonna ask Klaus if I can adopt one."
"Whatever move you're making, Klaus is going to be ready for you." Tyler said eying up Damon."He'll kill anyone at this party if he has too."
"Won't be me." I shrugged, for once in my life I was completely innocent. Sure I knew about the plan but I didn't want any parts in that dumpster fire.
"Tell someone who cares." Damon replied, I raised an eyebrow because that would've been enough to provoke Tyler when he was just a werewolf. As if on cue the two started fighting, Tyler bumped Damon into the desk and I quickly scooted back away from the danger.
Damon started to reach into Tyler's chest while Tyler was hellbent on biting him. I flung my hand out, flinging Damon away from Tyler. Tyler went to go at him again but went down clutching his head.
"That's not me." I said confused, Bonnie walked in shortly after my guess was she heard the commotion somehow and figured they'd kill each other.
"What the hell let me down." Damon complained, Bonnie & I looked at each other for a moment before releasing them at the same time.
"You weren't supposed to kill Tyler." She hissed, I was confused did they send Damon to talk to Tyler? Tyler who is sired to Klaus and will protect him with his life?
I noticed a freaky looking stake on the floor but before I could even move Damon scooped it up and put it away.
"What is that?" Bonnie asked, I guess she saw it too.
"Nothing." Damon replied innocently, this probably wasn't a conversation they should have in front of Tyler.
"Oh my god is that the?" Bonnie looked at Tyler and I stopped herself from confirming what it was."Why do you have it?"
"Because I'm the only one who could get inside the house." He explained, after that him & Bonnie both left leaving Tyler and I staring at each other.
"You need to leave." Tyler said after an awkward silence."If something happens I don't want you to get hurt."
"I can protect myself, but it's sweet you care." I smiled grabbing my shoes from the floor and standing up." You need to not almost get yourself killed."
"It would've been a draw." He shrugged, I snorted and walked off searching for Damon. If he was gonna do something this idiotic I wanted to be close by when it happens to intervene if I had to.
I lost track of that idea when I came down the steps and saw Klaus in the doorway, there was an older looking man standing on the other side of it.
"Holy shit." I mumbled slowly getting closer, if this really was Mikeal I'm shocked they managed to pull it off.
I watch in shock as Mikeal grabs Elena and stabs her in the back, I went to run past Klaus outside to help her but he put his arm out stopping me in my tracks.
"You do not go out there." He ordered, he was clearly shaken up by the fact Mikeal would actually hurt Elena. I collide hard with the floor out of nowhere when Damon rushes over and stabs Klaus, I shriek in shock when the Hybrids immediately go into defensive mode.
I sigh in relief when Klaus pulls the stake out, Damon had just missed his heart. I nearly fainted when Elena got back up and smiled.
"Katherine." Mikeal said shocked, well shit he really did try and kill Elena. She throws a vervain grenade at the Hybrids they doubled over coughing and burning. I got up from the floor and scrambled for the stake but Damon got to it first, Stefan came out of nowhere and tackled him to the ground making the stake fall from his hands and go shuffling across the floor again.
"What are you doing?" Damon asked shocked, he struggled against Stefan but couldn't break out of his grasp." Alicia." Damon turns to me, he wants me to grab the stake and stab Klaus. Fuck that. Jules came back and almost killed my ass. What makes me think Klaus won't succeed.
"What the hell did you do?" Damon spat angrily at Stefan, the vampire didn't react and neither did I. Klaus took the stake and drove it through Mikeal's heart he quickly bursted into flames before his grey body fell to the floor.
"He earned his freedom." Klaus grinned, he turned away from Mikeal's body and came up to Stefan. Stefan let go of Damon who disappeared immediately." Thank you, my friend. You no longer have to do what I say. You are free."
Stefan turned to me and closed his eyes before silently opening them. I was curious if he flipped his switch back on as soon as the compulsion was gone.
Stefan took off as soon as he finished leaving me with Klaus, I nervously walked up to him. I didn't know what he planned to do from here, maybe he'd lash out and ripe out my heart.
"Klaus? I had nothing to do with that, I swear." I said quickly, I hoped he had at least a bit of faith in me to not think I was lying.
"I know little witch." He replied he was staring at Mikeal's charred body."I've waited for this day for over a thousand years."
"You must feel relieved. He's gone." I said I took one look at Mikeal's body and my stomach turned it wasn't like Vicky's dead body. Mikeal was literally burned to a crisp.
"I do, come with me. I'm gonna awake my siblings." He held his arm out to me and I took it, I didn't have to double cross him to undagger the others and was beyond relieved about it.
"There's something I should tell you." I said as we climbed into Klaus's car, he put the key in and started it up.
"It can wait." He replied. I guess it could? We'd have an easier time finding Rebekah with everyone else to help out I guess.
"Okay."
We didn't really speak while Klaus drove us to the other side of town, he just had this huge grin plastered on his face. It was almost freaky.
When we finally arrived Klaus told me to wait in the car, he didn't want Kol to wake up and rip my throat out. I watched intently as he went to the back of the truck and paused, he still had that grin on his face as he pulled out his phone and answered it.
The smile slowly faded from his face as he threw the back of the truck open, it was empty. He hung up his phone and threw it, letting out a loud scream. I stayed glued to my seat frightened as he stomped his way back and yanked the door open.
"Alicia." He said his tone was deadly."When you said you needed to talk to me did it have anything to do with Stefan taking my siblings?"
"Stefan did this?" I asked shocked, I truthfully didn't think he had it in him."No, I was going to tell you they daggered Rebekah."
"Great." He sighed punching the steering wheel, thankfully he'd used a human amount of force and didn't break it.
"We'll get them back, don't worry about it." I tried to reassure him but he still looked murderous. I gulped knowing if he didn't get those coffins back, the entire town was as good as dead.
