Last time, Pit set out in the Lightning Chariot to save Palutena from the Chaos Kin. Viridi, Hades, and Dark Pit noticed something very wrong with the angel and it was proven to be true when Lucifer revealed his master plan to them. Pit was working for his brother the whole time and the mission was instead a ruse. With Palutena killed by the evil brothers' clutches, will Dark Pit stop their malicious plan for good? Dark Pit rushed to the door with his Silver Bow equipped. "Here I come, Pit and Lucifer! It's time for you to pay!" he yelled as he activated his Power of Flight and flew into the outside of Palutena's temple to enter the crack. "Be careful, Dark Pit," Viridi warned. "The Chaos Vortex is extremely dangerous and you must stop Pit and Lucifer from completing their master plan." "Not a problem!" Dark Pit affirmed as he entered the crack and arrived at the Chaos Vortex. "You weren't kidding about this place being dangerous!" "This is where Pit and Lucifer are hiding with Palutena's soul," Viridi explained. "You must stop them from performing their ritual. It's the only way to end this chaos." "But why couldn't the centurions stop them after what happened to Palutena?" Dark Pit asked. "Unfortunately, the centurions began to die ever since Palutena's death," Viridi explained, sadly. "Without her presence in the temple, the light around our world is starting to fade away. The only way to end this is to defeat both Pit and Lucifer." "But if I defeat Pit, I will disappear as well," said Dark Pit. "I'm fully aware of the risks, Dark Pit, but there are no other options," Viridi replied. "But if you can, try to negotiate with Pit to come back to us and fix this madness." "I'll do my best," Dark Pit affirmed as he took down enemies. But then, he noticed something odd about them. "Hang on a minute. Aren't those the same enemies we fought earlier," he asked. "That seems to be the case, but they are never together like this," said Viridi. "Just focus your attacks in taking them down without hesitation. This must be Lucifer's and the Chaos Kin's work." "I believe so," said Dark Pit. "But where is the Chaos Kin?" "I don't know. I can't seem to feel its presence anywhere," said Viridi. "Lucifer might be blocking me from doing so. It's best for you to keep looking for them. They might be hiding somewhere." "Got it," Dark Pit affirmed as he continued to take down more and more enemies. Just after he did all that, he saw the Chaos Kin right in front of him. "There's the Chaos Kin!" Viridi shouted. "After it!" "You got it!" said Dark Pit as he flew after the Chaos Kin. But just as he was about to land a hit on it, a strong energy blast shot right at him and knocked him backwards. "Argh!" he yelled in pain. "What happened?!" Viridi cried in worry. Before Dark Pit could answer the question, he looked up and saw his attacker; Lucifer, equipped with the Curse Palm.

"Well well well. Look who has the guts to make it all the way over here," said the Devil. "I'm surprised to see you here, Dark Icarus. Trying to stop us from completing our plans, are you not?" "You and I know well that you and the Chaos Kin took Palutena's soul!" Dark Pit replied. "I believe you're talking about...THIS?!" said Lucifer as he pulled out a glowing green sphere into his hands. "That's Palutena's soul!" Dark Pit exclaimed upon seeing the sphere. "Hand it over right now or there will be trouble, Lucifer!" "Not a chance, Dark Icarus!" Lucifer replied. "You're not going to ruin everything me and my brother worked hard on! You are not even one of us nor a real living being. You're just an incomplete, flawless clone of my brother. It's best for you to leave if you want to live a little longer before everything turns into cinders." This made Dark Pit widen his eyes in both shock and anger. "How dare you say something like that to me!" he yelled. "I'll have you apprehended for what you have done to all of the innocents!" "Hah! This coming from a dark, sad angel clone?" Lucifer taunted. "Let's see if you are determined to stop me! Chaos Kin! Leave with the soul." He handed Palutena's soul to the Chaos Kin. "Find a portal to escape this place and wait for me," he continued. "I'll be with you once I'm done with this foolish bastard." The Chaos Kin complied and flew away into an eye-shaped portal to make its escape. "No! The Chaos Kin got away!" Viridi yelped. "Now what are we going to do?!" "Now you are going to witness what will soon be the end of your universe!" said Lucifer. "If you want to stop me and end this, you're gonna have to catch me first. Try to keep up, Dark Icarus! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!" He then flew away as fast as he could. "Hey! Get back here!" Dark Pit yelled as he chased after him. "You're not getting away for this, Lucifer!"

Lucifer began flying away as fast as he could, passing through many different enemies he summoned and avoiding obstacles along the way. Dark Pit, however, was still behind him on hot pursuit and fired different arrows at his target. But Lucifer swiftly dodged those attacks, with barely any damage delt to him, before releasing a powerful charged shot at the dark angel. This caused him to feel a little dizzy as he felt his life force slowly drain away. "W-What's happening to me?" he said in pain. "Quick! Use your Effect Recovery power to stop it!" Viridi ordered and Dark Pit tried to use it to stop the status effect, but nothing happened. "What the?" he gasped. "Why didn't the power dispel the ailment?" "That's because this ailment I inflicted on you is called 'Curse,'" Lucifer replied. "It's similar to Poison and Burn, but it cannot be removed by any means necessary. It also removes and seals up your powers, making them unable for you to use them. Now, let's see if you can survive against me this time!" "Don't you dare count on it, Lucifer!" Dark Pit yelled as the dark angel and Devil continued with the chase. But since Dark Pit is still inflicted with Curse, it makes the battle more difficult for him. "Here, let me help you with that!" said Viridi and she used her powers to remove the status effect. Soon after a while, the Curse ailment was removed. "There! Now you can be able to continue with the chase!" she continued. "Get Palutena's soul back and stop the brothers once and for all!" "Thanks, Viridi! Let's end their master plan for good!" Dark Pit replied and continued to chase down Lucifer. "It doesn't matter if that effect is removed from you, Dark Icarus, I'll still be able to inflict it again," said the Devil. "Take this!" He fired another charged shot at the dark angel, but he dodged the shot before releasing his own charged shot at his enemy. "Ouch!" Lucifer cried in pain. This caused big damage and stunned him for a few seconds. "Now's your chance!" said Viridi. "Finish him off!" "You got it!" Dark Pit replied before charging at Lucifer and doing a sweet melee combo to knock him down onto a large platform. "AAAAHHH!" he yelled. "Lucifer is down!" Viridi exclaimed. "Now to get Palutena's soul and finish him off!" said Dark Pit as he flew into the arena to stop Lucifer once and for all.

Dark Pit landed on the same platform to finish off Lucifer once and for all. He found him lying on the ground all bruised up ever since that air battle. The Devil slowly got up to his feet, struggling to resist the pain. "Urgh... You really are strong...but it will soon be the end of your pathetic life..." he grunted. "You'll never defeat us, Dark Icarus!" "Just hand over Palutena's Soul, Lucifer!" Dark Pit yelled. "You've already tortured so many innocent lives and it has to stop!" "Stop? Oh no no no no no no no," Lucifer responded while moving his right index finger from side to side. "Our master plan has only just begun. In fact, what better way to quickly end your life than to use your light counterpart to fight and kill you? Get over here, Icarus!" Suddenly, Pit came out of an eye-shaped portal and landed right next to his brother. Dark Pit and Viridi were shocked to see him. "Pit?! Why are you even here?!" Dark Pit yelled in surprise. "His name is Icarus, you useless excuse of an angel!" said Lucifer. "My brother will eliminate the bothersome lot of you. After that, we'll be going after Viridi next." "You have become nothing more than a monster, Lucifer!" Dark Pit yelled. "I hope you're ready to accept the consequences of your actions, because you will soon regret the mistakes you have made in the past." "I REGRET NOTHING, YOU SON OF A BITCH!" Lucifer yelled in anger. "Icarus, deal with this insolent pest! Show him no mercy and kill him slowly and painfully!" "With pleasure, my brother," Pit replied as he pulled out the Sword of Death. "You have become a thorn in my side, Dark Pit. Now it's time for some revenge for all the hurtful things you did to me!" "You have joined forces with a monster, Pit," said Dark Pit. "You have tortured all of the innocents. You killed them without any regrets. But now, we will avenge them all by finishing you right here, right now! Prepare to meet your end, Pit!" He switched his weapons and then took out his Dark Pit Staff. Both angels readied themselves to begin their big battle in the Chaos Vortex.

Dark Pit started the fight by firing a powerful charged shot, but Pit evaded it quickly and counterattacked with a melee combo. "Why are you joining with that monster, Pit?!" Dark Pit yelled. "Do you have any idea how many innocents he killed and caused all of humanity to suffer?! Palutena is gone because of him! You're being manipulated by a monster who doesn't care about any of us!" "Don't listen to him, Icarus," said Lucifer. "He's only trying to make things difficult for you. Take him out as soon as you can so that we can continue with our master plan." Pit did so by charging at his dark counterpart with his sword and gave out a mighty slash, only for Dark Pit to block it with his Staff. He then pushed him back and fired another charged shot to deal damage. "Argh!" the angel yelled in pain. "Use your strongest attack wisely, brother," Lucifer instructed and Pit complied by charging at Dark Pit with his sword. Suddenly, it glowed a dark, bloody red aura as Pit slashed a mighty swipe at his dark counterpart, only for the dark angel to dodge quickly before it could make contact. "W-What was that?!" he gasped. "It looked like a powerful attack!" Viridi exclaimed. "That was a very special attack called 'Death,'" Lucifer explained. "It's a very powerful skill that can instantly kill you with a 3% chance. However, that skill has a one minute cooldown after use." "That doesn't sound overpowered," said Dark Pit. "Very funny," Lucifer scoffed. "Then let's see how you handle THIS!" As soon as he said that, Pit charged at his dark counterpart very fast and unleashed another melee combo, causing Dark Pit to bleed. "A-Ack! W-What is this?!" he yelled in pain. "Y-You're bleeding!" Viridi gasped. "Hang on! I'll heal those wounds quickly!" "Oh no you don't!" said Lucifer and then blocked Viridi from using her powers. "What are you doing?!" Viridi gasped. "I'm not letting you interfere with the big finish!" said Lucifer. "Icarus, finish him!" "With pleasure, Lucifer. Goodbye, faker!" said Pit as he unleashed a big, fatal slash to finish Dark Pit off and end the battle. "NOOOOO!" he yelled in defeat. "Game over, you fake!" said Pit, victoriously.

As Dark Pit lied on the ground, unable to stand up again despite his struggles to do so, Pit and Lucifer slowly walked up to the injured dark angel. Dark Pit looked at his attackers with anger fueled in his eyes. "How could you do this to me?!" he yelled. "You have to stop all of this madness! You're getting innocent people killed! What will the Underworld Army think about what you've done to them?" "You're foolish to think you can stop us, Dark Icarus," said Lucifer. "Especially since all of that is coming from someone who is nothing more than a nobody." "What did you just call me?" Dark Pit gasped in shock. "You heard me! You don't have a soul," Lucifer continued. "You're just a clone of my brother's inner feelings. You almost defeated your original counterpart just for kicks, and now it's time for Icarus to have his revenge! Shall you do the honors, little brother?" "Of course, big brother," Pit replied as he slowly walked up to his dark counterpart. "You've been a pain ever since we first met. The Underworld should know that creating you was a mistake," Lucifer continued. "On the other hand, after breaking the mirror of truth, Icarus freed me from my cursed prison. Speaking of which, I remember that you still have Pandora's powers absorbed within your wings. Therefore, we must sap it out of you once you are eviscerated from existence. Icarus, rip him to shreds." "With pleasure..." Pit replied as he raised up the Sword of Death to stab his dark counterpart. "Pit! Don't do this!" Dark Pit yelled in fear. "He's manipulating you! You have to break free from his control!" This made Lucifer's eyes glow red and he punched Dark Pit's face. "Shut up! Don't you DARE say anything about my little brother!" he yelled. "For that, we'll make your death slow and painful by doing it together." He then took out the Viper Blade. "Don't worry. It's only going to hurt... A LOT!" He raised up his weapon and then the two brothers stabbed Dark Pit with their weapons to make him bleed and cough a lot. "Dark Pit!" Viridi cried in anguish. "*cough* S-STOP! STOP IT NOW!" the dark angel coughed. "Y-You have to *cough* get out of h-his control! *cough* Think about what your f-family or *cough* Palutena would say about you!" But Pit only stared coldly at his dark counterpart and said, "You don't know ANYTHING about my family. I'm doing this for my parents, and they will be avenged away for you lot!" Lucifer smiled a sinister smile after seeing his brother act that way. That's my little brother, he thought as the two of them continued their bloodlust execution. All while Viridi watched in horror and screamed in agony. "STOP! STOP THIS! PLEASE!" she cried, but it was no use. With two final fatal stabs, Dark Pit began to lose consciousness before saying his final words, "This... w-will... *cough* be... your end...! The Underworld... and the... Forces of N-Nature *cough* will... stop... y-you..." With that, he died. But since he was only a clone, there wasn't a soul. Except for Pandora's powers along with her soul. "Pandora's soul is what we've been waiting for," said Lucifer. "However, we're not going to use her for the ritual." "What do you mean, Lucifer?" Pit asked. "I'll tell you more at the deepest reaches of the Chaos Vortex," Lucifer replied as he activated his Power of Flight. "Follow me to the ritual. The Chaos Kin is waiting for us." He then snapped his fingers and Pit's wings started to glow, thus activating his Power of Flight. "As the Devil, I am capable in activating flights whenever I want," he explained. "Now let's get going." Pit took Pandora's soul and then the two brothers soon took off to where they need to go. But, throughout all of that, Viridi couldn't believe her eyes. "Oh... no...!" she sobbed. "This can't be! This... can't... be...!"

Once Pit and Lucifer arrived at their destination, they saw the Chaos Kin waiting for them. "Looks like we made it, brother," said the Devil. "Now we can start the ritual." "So, tell me why do we need Palutena's soul for this one?" Pit asked. "As I mentioned earlier, Icarus, Palutena's soul is too powerful for us to control for our other ritual," Lucifer explained. "So, I decided to perform this ritual that will weaken it. With both you and the Chaos Kin helping me out, we'll take away Palutena's powers from within her soul." Pit nodded in affirmation. "That's alright, I guess. But, what about Pandora's powers?" he asked. "I'll tell you about that later," Lucifer replied. "Right now, I must handle this ritual and you will help me out." He then walked up to the Chaos Kin. "Care to place to soul in the ritual circle, my right hand pet?" he asked it and the creature complied by flying over to the ritual circle and placing the soul in it. After that, it flew back to the brothers. "Excellent. Now we can begin," said Lucifer before giving Pit a Burning Palm. "What's this Burning Palm for?" he asked. "Use it to light up the candles around the ritual circle," Lucifer ordered. "Once you're done, we can perform the ritual." Pit nodded and put the Burning Palm on his right arm. He then walked to the ritual circle and used the palm to create a ball of fire. With it, he carefully hovered it over a candle to light it up. He then did the same thing for the remaining candles until all of them were lit. "Nicely done, Icarus. Now it's time to begin the sacrifice," Lucifer announced as he walked up to the ritual circle and pulled out a book. "What is that book used for?" Pit asked. "This isn't just any book, Icarus," Lucifer explained. "This is my satanic ritual book. I created it ever since I arrived here in the Chaos Vortex. It has a long list of ritual spells that requires different sacrifices. Let me just get to the page I need." He then flipped different pages in the book until he found what he was looking for. "Ah, here we go. The 'Soul Sacrifice' ritual," he continued. "This ritual spell is specifically for souls. Either mortal or immortal." But before Lucifer can begin the ritual, Pit noticed a ton of other souls gathered around the circle. "How come there are more souls in the circle, Lucifer?" he asked his brother. "These souls were from foolish mortals who dare to defy us, Icarus," Lucifer explained. "They were killed during the Chaos Kin's massacres. They are going to be useful for this specific ritual spell. Now, without further ado, let us begin!"

With a raising hand, the ritual circle began to glow and the candles' flames flicker quickly, and Lucifer began his chant to perform the ritual. "Power of the creator!" Suddenly, lightning bolts crashed down around the circle as the candles flicker and their wax began to melt. "Power of the destructor!" More lightning bolts crashed down around the circle and this time, the candles' flames grew bigger as their wax melted even more. "Weaken Palutena's soul and give us more power!" All of a sudden, a strange red beam flashed from the ritual circle and struck into Palutena's soul. That caused it to make it glow dimmer and dimmer. "Hahahahaha! Yes!" Lucifer sinisterly laughed with an evil grin. "It's working! Time for you to join your sister, Palutena! Gaia is waiting for you!" After a while, the beam retracted back into the circle, Palutena's soul has faded away, and all of the human souls disappeared into nothingness. "What happened, Lucifer?" Pit asked. "The ritual was a complete success," Lucifer replied. "Now that Palutena's soul has weakened, she will be useful for the primary ritual. I'll be taking her to the ritual circle, but before I go, there is something I need to tell you." "What is it?" Pit asked. "Do you remember Pandora's powers we stole after the defeat of your dark clone?" Lucifer reminded his brother. "Yes. Why is that?" Pit responded. "Well, since Pandora was once known as the Goddess of Calamity and Dark Pit used her powers to give him the unlimited Power of Flight, I will give you her powers so that you can have the unlimited Power of Flight as well," Lucifer explained. "Let me just give them to you and your wish to fly by yourself will come true." He then opened his right hand to release Pandora's powers and they flew right into Pit's wings. After that happened, his wings started to glow purple like his dark counterpart's earlier. "Now you can fly infinitely without a five minute limit," Lucifer continued. "You can use this power to fly all the way to Viridi's temple. Once you get to your exact location, it's not going to be easy. By now, Viridi is going to set up her forces to stop us from taking her soul. I'll be helping you to stop them after I take care of the Underworld army." "Sounds like a plan," Pit affirmed. "That goddess won't know what will hit her!" He then flew away to exit the Chaos Vortex. Lucifer smiled sinisterly to see everything going well. He then turned to the Chaos Kin. "Alright, Chaos Kin, mobilize our entire army to strike the Underworld army down!" he ordered. "Once they are completely eviscerated and we take their souls, we'll strike the Forces of Nature next! Leave no evidence behind and take all the souls for our final ritual!" The Chaos Kin nodded and flew away to inform the Dark Allies about their final plan of attack, leaving its patriarch boss smiling with sinister glee. "Excellent. Everything is all going according to plan," he said to himself. "Soon, there will be nothing remaining of this world and it will be ruled by our power. SHE is the only one left in the way of eternal damnation. Once I place this soul in the primary ritual circle, I'll get rid of the Underworld army and take their souls. Then, target the foolish secondary Goddess of Nature and burn her so-called 'children' to ashes. Prepare to meet your maker, A.K.A. your mother, Viridi!" He then opened up a portal to enter the Void in order to place Palutena's soul in the ritual circle before targeting the Underworld and then the Forces of Nature next.

Meanwhile in Viridi's temple, the Goddess of Nature was now crying in anguish. As she screams in agony, she kicks her feet furiously while her tears fell out of her sockets. She then fell to her knees and slammed her fists on the ground, while a fresh fountain of tears rained down. "THIS CAN'T BE HAPPENING!" she cried. "I'M THE ONLY ONE LEFT! I LOST MY COMMANDERS! MY FRIENDS! EVEN MY WHOLE FAMILY! ALL BECAUSE OF THAT MONSTROUS DEVIL!" But, while she continued to sob, her whole forces came up to her to tell her the bad news. "W-What's wrong?" she trembled and a Nutski told Viridi what was going on. This made the Goddess of Nature's eyes widen in horror and shock. "What?! We're under attack?!" she screamed in terror. "Pit is flying over to the temple in order to kill me?!" She looked down on the floor in fright. She couldn't believe her eyes and ears after what she just heard. Pit, the angel and Captain of Palutena's Guard, has turned into a monster. All because of his evil older brother, Lucifer. But then, her feelings began to change. She felt anger, vengeance, and justice fueled within her body. "You know what? No!" she shouted. "I'm not going to let the loss of my commanders take over me! If nobody else can stop the evil brothers, then we have to do it ourselves! Children, prepare all of our forces for the final battle! We cannot let Nature and mankind lose everything! This is our last stand! Show no mercy and destroy Pit once and for all!" The Forces of Nature nodded in agreement and left to prepare themselves for the final battle. "It's been years ever since my mother died, Lucifer," Viridi continued to herself. "I will avenge everyone you ruthlessly murdered with your brother. This is for my commanders, my children, the humans, the Goddess of Light, Palutena, and most importantly, my mother, Gaia! Prepare yourself, Pit and Lucifer! I will show you what happens when you dare to mess with the Earth, Heavens, and everyone else you killed! We shall settle this once and for all!" She then left to mobilize her forces for the final battle, unaware that Lucifer was already one step ahead in fighting the Underworld army.
Oh my goodness! Everything is falling to pieces! The only one who will stop the evil angel brothers is Viridi, the Goddess of Nature. But, what will happen to the Underworld army during the final battle? Who will be the victorious ones? The Forces of Nature, the Underworld, or the Dark Allies? All will come together in the Evil Route's finale; DLC chapter twenty two. Also, the chant you heard from Lucifer is a reference to Dormammu's lines in Marvel vs. Capcom.
